Alucard flew towards the top of Lex Corp, it was the tallest building in the city and towered above all others. Whether that was a testament to Luthors' wealth and influence of power or he was as superman most likely suspected overcompensating for something, Alucard was not sure. But right now, he and
As they flew Michael admired the view looked over the city below. At first, he was afraid that Alucard would drop him but it quickly became apparent that would not be the case.
"Umm…so do you normally sweep men off their feet or am I just special," Michael asked.
"You do not possess the power of flight…this is the most efficient method to reach our destination," Alucard responded.
"Right…so…do you fly around here often?"
"No,"
"Okay…good talk,"
They landed on the roof and looked around. In the centre of the roof was a massive Satellite dish array, next to it was a small shed-like structure with a single door. It was blocked off by a locked electric fence that had a warning sign on it. Michael walked up to the fence and sighed.
"Of course, it's blocked off," he said sadly. Alucard walked over to stand next to him.
"Is there a problem?" Alucard asked.
"Yeah, the satellite array is blocked by an electric fence, and that control room is likely locked," Michael explained, "I think we might have to find the CEO to let us in,"
"That will take too long," Alucard stated and he drew out his sword. With two quick and precise strikes the fence was severed and now held a sizeable hole. Krypto floated over and pulled the fence back creating a big enough for both Michael and Alucard to fit through one at a time and avoid being shocked.
Even though sparks were coming out of the fence, the dog was not bothered or even affected by them, thanks to its Kryptonian physiology.
"That…works too," Michael stated. As Alucard sheathed his sword, Michael bent duked into the hole. Alucard followed after him and Krypto flew over the fence and landed next to the vampire. Michael ran up to the door of what had to be a control shed for the satellite array and grabbed the handle. It was locked with an electronic keypad. Michael looked over at Alucard and the Super Dog.
"Locked. I don't suppose you have super strength, do you?" Michael asked Alucard. The vampire walked up and Michael stepped out of the way. Alucard reached out and gave the door a slight pull, it was ripped off its hinges. Michael ran inside and sat down at the control console, turning it on and be
Krypto barked happily and wagged his tail looking at the door. Alucard raised an eyebrow and walked back outside, he then threw the door with all the strength he could muster and the Super Dog dashed after it in a white and red blur.
"Superman has a very strange pet," he muttered to himself, before turning back and walking into the control centre.
"It will take a few minutes for the satellite dishes to readjust," Michael claimed as he typed away at the keyboard. "I'm also programming them to send a distress signal every 2 minutes on all frequencies. The Justice League should have noticed the city's absence by now so they will get this,"
"What is the message?" Alucard asked.
"Nothing fancy, just a simple SOS," Michael answered "Hopefully they will get this,"
Michael spent the next few minutes in silence finishing the programming and then he sent the signal. Once it was sent, he swivelled his chair around and looked at Alucard.
"Are you an Alien?" Michael asked suddenly.
"What?"
"An Alien, like Superman and Martian Manhunter," Michael clarified "I mean you can fly, clearly you have super strength and I'm guessing you have a verity of other powers up your sleeve as well,"
"No, I was…born on earth," Alucard stated "and the only thing up my sleeves are my arms,"
Michael stared at him for a moment and then shook his head. "Really? Could have fooled me," Michael shrugged.
"Do I appear alien to you?"
"A little yeah. I mean calling everyone Human and not getting social norms and all, it's something you'd expect from someone from another planet," Michael explained.
"Hmm…"
Michael was about to open his mouth to ask something else, however, Alucard's head suddenly snapped up towards the ceiling. Given the last 18hrs, Michael immediately became tense and alert.
"What is it?"
"I…can hear something approaching," Alucard stated. He focused his hearing and then looked towards the door "Outside," he said urgently and ran out the door.
Michael followed him, holding his bag against his chest. Once they were both outside, they both looked up to see a missile painted with Brainiacs purple and green colouring heading straight towards them. Alucard's eyes widened and he grabbed Michael and pulled him back inside the control room. A split second later the missile hit the control centre and a large explosion was seen from all across the city.
Floating high above the tower was Brainiac. The AI had a satisfied smile on his face.
"Foolish humans, did you not think a 12th level intellect like myself did foresee the possibility of you calling for help?" Brainiac scoffed as he floated down towards the destroyed control centre. The AI landed and waited patiently to see the results of the missile he had sent.
Earth was not the first world that he had captured that tried to send out a call for help. However, his ship's senses were programmed to intercept such messages. With Brainiacs advanced technology there was no way any calls for help would ever leave his ship. If the AI detected one, he simply went into the bottle and destroyed its source. This not only prevented future messages but also helped those captured in the bottle remember that they were at Brainiac's mercy.
After a few moments of waiting the smoke from the explosion cleared, if the AI was expecting to see a destroyed rooftop, he was about to be disappointed. There was no sign that the explosion had taken place. Instead of debris, fire, and other remains of Lex Corps technology, a large thick black dome sat in its place. The dome encompassed the whole rooftop and out from the base, several large tendrils were pointing towards the sky that waved harmlessly in the wind.
"What is this?" Brainiac wondered as he stared at the thick black dome "an unknown phonomime,"
Inside the dome
Michael pushed himself up, he had been shoved in here right before the missile hit. "Ow…what was that?" Michael asked as he rubbed his head. He looked around and noticed that the control room he was in was now encased in inky oozing darkness. Michael shuffled back in horror and lifted his hand to see the dark substance start to spread and cover his hand. He pulled out his phone and switched on his torch to get a better look but when he aimed the light at his hand only for the dark energy to fall and drip off his hands.
"What is this stuff?" He wondered as he looked around, searching for Alucard. However, it was so dark he could not see anything. Even using the torch to see, and shone it out as he looked around.
"Hey, mister Hero," Michael called out as he took a couple of steps forward. The dark substance was like water under his shoes, creating ripples as he walked "Hello, anyone here?"
At first, Michael did not get a response, however, a moment later he heard the sound of grunting. With little other option, Michael ran in the direction of the noise. He was not running long, and he came across a sight that terrified him to his core.
There in front of him was Alucard, however, he was struggling against the inky black liquid as it appeared to be alive somehow and wrapping itself around the vampire's legs and arms. Alucard was struggling ageist it and he was fighting a losing battle.
"No…Stop…" Alucard demanded as he ripped some of the darkness off his legs only for more to seep up and take its place. Michael had no idea what he was witnessing but his new friend needed help.
"What the…get off him," Michael demand and he rushed forward. Alucard snapped his head in Michael 's direction. The moment he did several tendrils lashed out at Michael . The Uni-student immediately turned to run but he tripped over as a tendril wrapped around his leg and began to pull him back towards Alucard.
"The fuck…get off me," Michael demanded. He started to try and rip the dark leash off his ankle but his hands only produced more black ink. He could not get hold of it.
Alucard noticed this and doubled his efforts. With one big burst of strength, he shot up into the air and the darkness that held him was broken and dripped off him. Alucard then flew down and ripped the darkness of Michaels's leg. He scooped the teen up and flew as fast as he could. However, the darkness seemed hell-bent on keeping him there and it followed.
Tentacles lashed out from the dark liquid below. Spikes formed and shot from above, and all around them as Alucard swiftly flew in between them, desperately trying to avoid being caught once more. Alucard whispered a silent spell to increase his speed, however, the faster he flew the more aggressive and dangerous the darkness became.
Michael was still very confused as to what was going on and being chased by living darkness did not help matters. He was terrified, he didn't know what this dark stuff was and he had no desire to stay and find out. Suddenly a large pillar of the dark liquid shot out in front of them, Alucard stopped for a split second to avoid crashing into it; but in that second a tendril wrapped around his ankle and yanked him and Michael out of the air and back towards the ground.
They landed roughly and the black liquid once again wrapped around Alucard and started to pull him into the liquid. Michael looked behind him, and to his surprise, he could make out the city of Metropolis, it was behind a hazy dark mist, but it was close so Michael assumed they were near the exit.
"I can see the city," Michael whispered. He turned back and to his horror, Alucard was only barely hanging on. His whole body was now in the black liquid with only one arm out struggling to hold onto the surface of the black goo, but it was quickly being devoured by the strange liquid.
"Shit," Michael cursed and he ran over to where Alucard was, pulling out his phone once more he shone the torchlight at the inky goo. The surface of the dark water rippled and parted a bit.
"Keep the light on it, I can feel it weakening," Alucard claimed as he started to pull himself out of the Black liquid. Michael used his other hand to help pull Alucard back up and thanks to the light from the phone it was easier. Whatever this stuff was, it did not like light.
"Come on, I think we're close to the exit," Michael urgently claimed and pointed to the hazy window not far from them. The two started running, across the liquid surface, and just as they were approaching the exit four massive black tendrils rose once more and blocked their path. Whatever this dome of darkness was, it did not want them to leave.
"Flee," Alucard commanded and drew his sword "I will deal with this,"
"I'm not leaving you," Michael declared back. He was so focused on what was in front of him that he did not notice a tendril slowly rise behind him, I wrapped around his waist. Michael panicked and shone the light at it.
The moment the light hit the tendril it loosened abut also started flailing around wildly, and then in one flick, it threw Michael away with such force that he was thrown out of the dark dome and off the side of Lex Corp. Brainiac, who had been observing the dome witnessed Michael flying out but did nothing to aid the human as he fell to his death.
Michael screamed as he fell, usually, this would be the time that Superman would swoop in and catch him. However, Michael knew that Superman would not save him. Suddenly a streak of white and red zoomed down the side of the building and Krypto caught Michael e landed on something hard and metal, he looked at it and it was the door to the control panel for lex corps satellite array.
Michael looked behind him to see that Super dog was carrying it in his mouth, he gave the Super Dog with a grateful smile. "Thanks, Krypto, you're a good dog you know, that right?"
Krypto wagged his tail in response and became to float back up towards the top of Lex Corp, not too fast since the dog did not want Michael to fall off. When they reached the top as the dome now covered the top half of the building and it was slowly expanding outwards. Michael noticed that Brainiac was above them, the AI floating around observing the strange phenom. He likely knew that both Krypto and Michael were below but likely did not care.
"Can you get closer to that black sphere?" Michael asked Krypto. The dog responded by moving closer with the edge of the door now very close to the dark sphere. "Well, this isn't good, hey man…uh…flying dude. You in here?" Michael called out. He didn't get a response, and he let out a sigh. "Great, I never got his name either,"
Krypto's right ear lifted, the dog took a glance down towards the ground and there was a large crowd forming at the base of Lex Corp. it had gathered to see what was happing on Lex Corp tower.
"You specimen," a familiar voice called out from above. Michael looked up to see Brainiac floating down towards him. "What is this strange Phenomenon? Is it a natural reoccurrence on Earth?" the AI demanded.
"I don't know," Michael responded and he looked back at the black dome. "I've never seen anything like it before,"
"Hmm pity, I was hoping that even your tiny mind would have an idea, but the experiment would be dull if there were not some unexpected phenomena to observe," Brainiac said coldly. The AI floated upwards a bit and reached out to touch the dark dome. Michael looked over the edge of the door for any sign of Alucard but there was none.
"Don't touch it," Michael warned. Brainiac withdrew his hand and turned his attention back to Michael. "That stuff will stick to your hand or grow tendrils and attack you,"
"And how would you know this, hmm?"
"Because I was just inside that thing and…"
"You were inside that thing…interesting," Brainiac said. Michael did not like the way the alien AI was looking at him. "Perhaps I shall perform a few tests on you, to see what affects it has on humans,"
Michael gulped as Brainiac moved closer, however before he could reach him the tip of a blade shot out of the dome and went straight through the AI's chest. Brainiac looked down as Electricity sparked and the blade bulled back and then in one swift motion Brainiacs head was removed and the two parts fell out of the sky.
Michael watched them fall for a second before looking up to see a floating thin silver longsword hovering where Brainiac once was. It stayed there for a second before flicked up and pointed in the opposite direction; as it had a mind of its own and flew off.
Michael turned to look at Krypto "You saw that right? I did not just see a floating sword with a mind of its kill Brainiac and then fly off,"
Krypto started back at Michael and gave him a slight nod. Michael turned his attention back to the tower and saw that Alucard was almost half out of the dome. There were still straps of darkness wrapped around him as if the darkness was not willing to let him go. The floating sword was hovering just above him, reflecting light onto the tendrils and darkness that seemed hell-bent on preventing Alucard from escaping.
Krypto flew Michael down next to Alucard and Michael grabbed his hand started to pull him out. With the floating sword reflecting light onto the dome and Michaels help, Alucard was finally freed from the black dome and collapsed from exhaustion onto the metal door. The back dome suddenly stopped, the wavy tendrils in the air froze and smoke began to hiss out from it as the darkness melted away into nothing, reviling the top of Lex Corp completely destroyed.
Michael looked over Alucard, the other was breathing heavily and he chanced a glance up at the floating sword, it now hovered just above Alucard as if it was watching and waiting for Michael to make a hostile move.
"Are you alright?" Michael asked, refocusing on Alucard.
"Yes…just give me a moment," Alucard requested.
Michael nodded in understanding, he had no idea what just happened and waited for Alucard to recover. He looked at the floating sword once more "So, does your sword have a mind of its own or something?"
"Not this one," Alucard responded "My blade is enchanted to float and I can control its movements with my will,"
"That's pretty cool…hang on…this one? Does that mean you have a sword that can act on its own?"
Alucard did not respond, he looked back in the direction of Lex Corps tower. "I…apologise for what just happened,"
"Hey that dome thing was not your fault, it's not like you created it,"
"Actually…I believe it did," Alucard said regretfully "but I could not control it,"
Michael stared at Alucard in shock, he had created that horrible dome-like structure? That was new, on one hand, Michael was not sure how to react to that, on the other hand, it had saved them from that missile and being crushed by the debris.
"Huh…well we're alive so no harm done I guess," Michael responded "To bad the array is gone, there goes our chance at calling for help,"
Alucard looked up at the destroyed array and looked thoughtfully. "Perhaps not…Perhaps we can now get out,"
"How so?"
"Brainiac was inside the bottle…which means he had to have been opened it to get in,"
"Yeah, but he also blew up our only chance of sending an SOS to the Justice League," Michael claimed.
"But my blade destroyed him…therefore…"
"The bottle should still be open," Michael realised. Alucard nodded in response and looked up towards
"Well, let's go see if a 12th level intelligence remembered to shut the door," Michael agreed.
Michael Alucard and Krypto flew up towards the bottle, Krypto got rid of the door and Michael rode on the dog's back. Heading far above the cityscape to the dip in the sky, where the bottle cap was. They slowed their approach and when they were just below it, nothing was blocking their way. The plug was gone and the bottle was open.
Alucard, Krypto carrying Michael flew up and out of the bottle into an enormous room. It was filled with several other bottles that were floating on small hovering platforms. Looking around the room it became very clear that Metropolis was just one more in a long line of captured civilizations. Before the trio could even begin to think about looking around, they had one more problem to deal with.
"We're still small," Michael observed as he looked down at himself "I hope this isn't going to be some honey I shrunk the kid's logic. Otherwise, we are in so much trouble,"
"You shrunk children?" Alucard asked sceptically.
"No, it's a movie, a pretty well-known one at that…have you never seen it?" Michael asked.
Alucard shook his head in response.
"Huh…well you should look it up some time," Michael advised, he then looked around the room at the other giant-sized bottles. "Do you think there are other cities in those?"
"Most likely…do you wish to look?" Alucard asked.
Krypto floated up with Alucard to the nearest bottle and peered into it, sure enough, there was a large golden city that looked far more advanced than Metropolis did. Alucard and Krypto could see human-looking people walking around and going about their business.
They left the bottle and examined another to find another city, this one looked like it was in an old ruin of some kind and was filled with bipedal insects looking, people. They examined a few more bottles, each one with a different race and civilization in it.
"What the hell does Brainiac need with so many cities?" Michael asked as he peered into a bottle that held an underwater city.
"I do not know," Alucard admitted "whatever fate Brainiac had in store for these worlds he must have planned for our world too,"
"So, what happened to their planets…more importantly, what happened to earth?" Michael asked.
Alucard didn't respond, he turned away and faced the only door in the room. "Come, we will find no answers here," and he floated over to it, Krypto carrying Michael followed. They stopped at the massive door and looked up at it.
"So how do we get it open?" Michael asked and he looked around to each side of the door "I don't see a sensor or any kind of button or something to open it,"
Before the door began to open, the group zipped to the side and prayed that whatever came through did not see them. Once the door was fully open a humongous sized Brainiac appeared and walked into the room.
"I thought you killed him," Michael hissed.
"Evidently not," Alucard responded.
The group watched as Brainiac walked over to the table that held Metropolises bottle and looked down into the glass. "I wonder if Brainiac 1.4896725 has dealt with the distress signal," Brainiac said.
the group zipped out through the door while Brainiac was distracted, they emerged in a large looking lab. It didn't look like a science lab, more like a room filled with monitors. The biggest thing that stood out in this room was a round plated platform with coils and other strange designs around it. There were also three other Brainiacs in the room, all were focused on their tasks. Alucard and Krypto hid behind one of the larger computer terminals, out of sight, and observed the room.
"How many of these guys are there?" Michal asked.
"Too many…we will have a hard time sneaking past," Alucard reasoned. Alucard should be able to pass by unseen but the drones that had attacked the city were able to see and track him. He couldn't be sure if these versions of Brainiac would be able to do so as well and Alucard was certainly not going to run the risk of being discovered so soon after escaping.
"At least they don't know we got out of the bottle," Michael commented.
Just then the door opened once more, and the Brainiac they had seen walked back in.
"Prepare the shrinking unit, Brainiac 1.4896725 has been destroyed. We must retrieve their remains and determine if any specimens escaped,"
"Well shoot," Michael sighed "there goes the element of surprise,"
"Not necessarily…look," Alucard pointed.
One of the Brainiacs stepped onto the platform, while another tapped away at the console after a few moments the circuits and coils lit up. In a flash, he was gone. The Brainiac who had just come back in bent down and picked up now a miniature sized brainiac and walked back towards the door. It closed behind them.
"This is bad, if they find the debris of the one you destroyed, they'll know we escaped," Alucard warned.
"Not necessary," Michael responded. Alucard gave him an odd look "Ok that these guys are robots right, which mean there just walking computers and they will most likely have a CPU and a Memory unit,"
"See Pee You?"
"An electronic brain, if you will," Michael clarified "essentially if they want to get any information, they'll have to plug it in and transfer the data off it. The fall could have destroyed or corrupted the data,"
"So…they will not know we escaped?"
"I don't know, I've never seen this type of Technology before," Michael claimed "Damaged data is harder to retrieve and they may not be able to get the data anyway,"
"why not?"
"The size difference, depending on how they plan to transfer it would be impossible to connect a damaged computer the size of an ant to a working life-sized one. If they can't get the data while small..."
"They will use the device to make it big," Alucard finished.
"The problem is the small Brainiac, the first one to come into the bottle fired missiles at us. If we want to take the place and get back to our normal size, we'll have to deal with the smaller Brainiac without alerting the others,"
"I will take care of that," Alucard assured.
The group moved as close as they dared towards the panel, keeping out of sight from the other Brainiac that remained. It took close to an hour but eventually, the Brainiac that had gone into the Bottle room returned and placed a small ant-sized version of another Brainiac and the tiny remains of another Brainiac on the panel.
"Brainiac 1.4896725 has been destroyed, we need it resized to extract data to learn what happened," Brainiac declared.
It and the other Brainiac in the room got to work on the consoles. Alucard used the opportunity to slip up onto the panel, in one swift motion he drew his sword and severed the head of the ant-sized Brainiac. He also caught both head and body and gently lowed the second destroyed AI to the ground.
He then gave a gesture to where Michael and Krypto were hiding. The two came over just as power was starting to build in the coils and they landed next to Alucard.
"Hey, how safe is this?" Michael asked as he looked up at the energy coils wearily "I mean are we going to be unconscious for half the day again?"
"I do not know…but if you wish to remain small feel free to step off the panel," Alucard answered.
Michael groaned, he supposed he didn't have any choice, after all, he had come with Alucard willingly and he did not like being small. So, he stayed and waited for the energy build-up up to complete. He was not waiting very long; it took less than a minute for the power to charge and then a blast of energy shot out and hit the panel.
There was a blinding flash and suddenly everything hurt. Alucard, Michael , and Krypto felt as if every single cell in their body was being stretched and ripped apart at once. Michael fell to his knees, he wanted to scream but he knew he couldn't as the other Brainiacs would likely hear and stop the process. He weekly glanced over at Alucard and Krypto, they too were still standing but Michael could tell the energy was hurting them too, but they were enduring it a lot better than he was.
Thankfully the process only lasted a few seconds, though it felt like hours to poor Michael and the three started to grow and expand. When the process was complete, both Alucard and Michael felt very distracted. Krypto however was a different story.
"No, we shall exact…" the Brainiac didn't get to finish its sentence as a now fully-sized Krypto sped off the platform and tore off the whole left side with his jaws. The dog then whipped around and red beams shot out of his eyes as he melted the second brainiac's chest.
Once the two Brainiacs had been dealt with Krypto walked back over to the platform with a whine and nudged both Alucard and Michael with his nose in concern.
"Worry not…I am well," Alucard responded.
"I'm good, just a little disoriented," Michael assured as well "Man that was painful," He noted that his backpack that he had been carrying was also back to normal size and he smiled "Alright let's get out of here,"
Michael rushed to the door and it opened for him automatically, he peeked out into a long dark corridor and looked up and down it. He could not see as it was pitch black but he didn't hear anything either.
"All clear here," Michael called back "We should go before any more of these Brainiac things come back,"
They left the room and started down the hall with Alucard and Krypto leading, Michael followed close behind, he could not see in the dark and he held onto Krypto's cape and allowed the dog to guide him. As they walked it became clear that they were on a spaceship of some kind, how big it was and just where they were in the universe was another question. After walking for a while, Michael broached something that had been on his mind for a while, he reached up and tapped Alucard on the shoulder.
"Um, so can I ask you something," Michael requested. Alucard nodded in response "When that Waller woman was talking to you and you said you could leave the bottle at any time, why did you stay in the first place?"
Alucard stopped walking and turned to look at Michael.
"I mean if you had the ability to go for help why didn't you?" He contoured "I've been trying to figure it out,"
"The answer is simple…I didn't know if I could come back," Alucard answered.
"But isn't that a good thing? Being shrunk and stuck in a bottle in the hands of a Crazy Space AI is not fun, so not coming back would be a good thing,"
"Not in this situation, the Justice League are unavailable…if you had the power to leave to get help, even though you knew help was not available or there was little chance you would be able to come back with that help…what would you do?"
"I suppose I would stay and do what I could," Michael agreed.
"Exactly… and that is why I stayed. It is true that I could have left at any point however…it was always a last resort," Alucard explained. 'and…I do not believe I could face the others if I stood by and did nothing while Metropolis was abducted by the same being who attacked it,' he added as an afterthought to himself.
"I suppose that makes sense," Michael agreed "For what it's worth, I'm glad you didn't leave,"
They continued down the hall in silence, every time they came to a door Krypto would use his X-ray vision to see inside. If there were any Brainiacs in the room the group would keep going. They did encounter one or two drones and a few Brainiacs caught sight of them as they went about their business. However, thanks to being back to full size, Krypto and Alucard were able to swiftly deal with them.
So far, the group had managed to navigate and wander Brainiacs lair relativity undetected. They stopped in front of another door and Krypto gave it a quick scan, once the dogs' eyes went from blue to their normal colour, he gave a satisfying bark and Alucard nodded in understanding.
"This room is empty," Alucard announced. Michael nodded and he opened the door by hitting the control panel.
Inside was an empty room with a large window, it reminded Alucard of the viewing area on the watchtower where he would either lookout to watch the stars or just sit and read. However, this room was a lot smaller and also held a single computer terminal. Outside the window was a pale orange dusty cloud. There was no indication of where they were and the dust storm outside was no help.
Alucard groaned and pinched the bridge of his nose. This was the 4th room they had been into and there was still an indication of where they were or what Brainiacs experiments involved. However, this was the only room they had found that was empty and had a computer terminal.
"Can you use that to get some information?" Alucard asked Michael .
Michael went over to the terminal; it took him a bit to figure out how to turn it on. But once he had he began looking over the functions of the terminal.
"Okay, good news and bad news. Bad news is this terminal is only used for recording astral activity. Like tracking comets or observing star density" Michael claimed "the good news is I am a super Guinness when it comes to technology and computers and this terminal is connected to a network,"
"Meaning?"
"Meaning I can hack into it from here," Michael smirked and he began running his fingers over the keyboard at a high speed. Several windows of code and other strange symbols appeared and popped up. However, Michael remained focused and typed in his own code, altered a few things leaving Alucard to watch with curiosity and admiration for what Michael was doing.
"What exactly are you doing?" Alucard asked.
"hang on they use a quantum regular to reset passwords and firewalls every 25seconds…amateurs if they really wanted to make it a challenge, they would reset the passwords every 3 seconds…and even then, they shouldn't cycle through the 15,000 present passwords. Honestly, Brainiac is making this too easy," Michael claimed.
Alucard didn't respond. He had no idea what Michael was talking about or even what he said.
"And…done," Michael announced as he hit the enter key and the computer screen went blank for a moment before it loaded up again with different folders, all of them were labelled with different sequences of 1's and 0's "we're in, time to see exactly where we are,"
"Labelling your folders in binary, god, for a 12th LVL intelligence Brainiac is such an amateur. It's like he's just asking to be hacked," Michael scoffed as he browsed the computer system.
"Okay location…location…ah. Here we are," Michael said as he found what he was looking for and opened the file location. His face fell and he felt his blood drain, as he stared at the information on the screen.
"What is it?" Alucard asked, sensing something was wrong "Where are we?"
"We're…were inside Jupiter…were in a gas planet," Michael claimed "and it gets worse,"
"We're where?" Alucard demanded. He could not believe it; they were inside a gas giant. That shouldn't be possible, the ship should be crushed under the immense pressure. But it was and they were so far from earth too. When the League came back from Metropolis, they would notice the missing city and he doubted they would have any way to find them so far out in space.
Alucard once again contemplated using the return spell to get back to Castlevania. Things were getting more dangerous and now he had an exact location of where Brainiacs ship was he could pass the message along…if the league had returned.
"According to this…. the earth… it's been destroyed," Michael whispered. This announcement shocked both Alucard and Krypto to their core. "It's gone…"
Before Alucard could respond the door opened and revealed several versions of Brainiacs and at least 30 drones, none of them looked happy. Alucard and Krypto got ready to fight with the vampire stepping in front of Michael to protect him.
"Well, what do we have here?" Brainiac asked in a menacing tone "Looks like some escaped specimens. We can't have that,"
