Trevor moaned as he rolled over. His head hurt and he could feel his brain pounding against his skull. He forced himself up and looked around, wondering where he had fallen asleep in a drunken state this time. However, it wasn't a park, or under a tree or bridge. Hell, it wasn't even the rehab Clinic that he occasionally woke up in whenever Batman found him passed out with several hundred empty bottles around him.
Thinking about that particular clinic, Trevor made a mental note to check up on Lucy. An optimistic nurse who was always nice to him and sometimes snuck a little liquor into his coffee while at the clinic. Last he heard she was struggling financially.
As Trevor looked around his eyes fell on the now empty space that Alucard had been hanging. The vampire's torn clothes and cape were still there but there was no sign of Alucard himself. It didn't take Trevor long to figure out what had happened to him.
"That mother fucking…SHIT…SHIT BALLS FUCKING SHIT!" Trevor shouted "Wasn't enough he had to shoot me in the head but now he's run off with Mister Prissy ass immortal bastard. Uggh…Superman is going to kill me…if Batman doesn't do it first,"
Taking a deep breath and ignoring the pounding headache, Trevor pushed himself up and staggered out of the building.
"Don't even have any Bloody C4 or something to blow this place sky high," Trevor muttered as he approached his car. He got in and drove off.
It didn't take him too long to get back to Strikers Island. After all, the Prison Island was now accessible to the public and when the MP and workers saw him coming, they were very quick to give across to the island.
He headed down to the cellblock where the Justice League was being held and being guarded by Batman. Only to find that all but one of the cells were unlocked.
"Of course," Trevor groaned "Could this day possibly get any worse," He trudged down the stairs looking for Batman.
"Bats, you here. Look don't get mand but…" Trevor trailed off when he stopped in front of the transparent glass cell door that Flash was supposed to be held in. But instead of an alternate and very much alive Scalet Speedster, Lord Batman was trapped and restrained.
"What the? How did you get stuck in there?" Trevor asked a little confused, though he was more amused.
"Flash, he tricked the heart monitors into believing he was going into cardiac arrest,"
"He faked a heart attack? Could he always do that?"
"Maybe, our Flash never did. Get me out," Lord Batman demanded.
"Yeah, yeah hold on," Trevor said. He pulled out a phone and took a photo. Justice Lord Batman glared at him in response "Ha this is going all over the internet,"
"Trevor…."
"Oh, keep your pants on rich boy, I'm just having fun," Trevor scoffed and he typed in the code to the cell door before freeing Batman.
"What are you doing back, I thought you would be busy with the Justice Leagues tag along,"
"I was until I had a visit from our good friend Mr. Resistance leader,"
"The Resistance Leader?"
"Yeah. The guy blew down my door shot me in the head and ran off with that basted from the other world," Trevor hissed "I mean I get the Leader has a thing for killing me and it was funny to watch him try at first but now he's just being a dick about it,"
"You done?" Lord Batman asked as he listened to Trevor's rant.
"I will be when I rip Mr high and mighty heart out and feed it to him,"
"Are we talking about the one who escaped or the Resistance Leader?"
"Both. Judging by the lack of prisoners, I take it Flash freed his friends,"
"Yes, they've long gone,"
"Great let's get after them, maybe they'll be more inclined to stay put if we break their legs,"
"No need, we already know where they're heading," Lord Batman claimed.
"We do?"
"Yes, the only way they will get home is via the portal. So that is where we will wait,"
"And then I can break their legs?"
"And their hands,"
Trevor grinned wickedly but then he realised something.
"Hang on, if they're going to the portal shouldn't we warn Superman and the others that the League escaped and are probably on their way back to their dimension?"
"I agree…you should,"
"Me? You the one who let them escape," Trevor shot back "Why do I have to tell the boss?"
"Because you can't die. Besides, I will be waiting for my counterpart at the portal,"
"You're going to wait for your counterpart? Are you crazy? How do you know Good Batman won't bring help?"
"He won't because I wouldn't bring help,"
They headed back to the Batcave and once they arrived Lord Batman activated the portal and Trevor jumped through.
The White house. Justice Lord Earth
President Slade walked down the halls of the White House with the Justice League in tow. After a very far-fetched explanation of the situation and a few questions, Slade had agreed to work with the Justice League. He brought them to the White House via a secret passage that came out in one of the guest wings.
The League walked behind him with Alucard and Flash bringing at the end. Since Alucard's shirt, coat and cape were gone, Superman had given him his cape to wrap around him and protect his injuries. Alucard held on to it the same way victims of disasters and trauma victims held onto their support blankets. Every now and then Superman saw Flash trying to reach out and help the vampire but Alucard would pull away.
Slade stopped in front of a hall lined with doors.
"You can use these rooms to rest for a bit it's the guest wing and each room is like a small house. You won't be bothered by my security," Slade said "I need to talk to my daughter and get in touch with my contact in the Justice Lords' employ. Do you mind waiting?"
"What no collars?" Flash asked.
"Don't tempt me," Slade responded and left.
Flash let out a sigh and Superman opened the closest door. The room on the side was a small sitting room with a long couch and small tables next to it, a tv, and a dining room table with four chairs around it. There were two doors bot at the end of the room. One connected to two bedrooms both with two beds inside. The other is connected to a mordantly sized and fully stocked kitchen.
Once the Justice League was inside, Superman closed the door.
"Well, I suppose we make ourselves comfortable," he said.
"Not too comfortable," Batman added.
Alucard ignored Batman and pushed past the League, he headed for the bedrooms and entered on, closing the door behind him without saying a word.
"Okay, looks like Al has the bed. I'm going to see what kind of food this world has to offer," Flash announced and raced off, heading straight for the fridge.
Oval office
While the League got settled and President Slade walked towards the oval office, where he knew his daughter would be. He was not looking forward to telling her he had let Justice Lords from another dimension into their home. As soon as he entered
"Dad," the look-alike said happily. Suddenly Slade's Lookalike shifted into that of a young girl and she ran up to him and hugged her. "Dad, you're okay. What happened, when the call went dead after Superman came by, I thought…"
"I'm fine honey, it's fine. Listen I need to tell you something and…well I want you to know I have always done my best and that I love you,"
"Dad, you're scaring me. What happened?" Rose asked in concern.
Slade signalled for the security detail to leave and the secret service left the room to give Slade some time with his daughter. Once they were gone Slade led his daughter to the couch and sat her down on it.
"Don't get your hopes up, but I think we may finally have a way to take down the Justice Lords once and for all," Slade claimed "If we're lucky they will be gone in a few days,"
"That's incredible. Does that mean that Meta you went to collect agreed to Join the Resistance?"
"Not…exactly," Slade said "it's…Uhm…complicated,"
"So, we don't have a meta of our own?" Rose deflated.
"No, but I might have made some allies. I need you to get in touch with O'Brian there is something we need to discuss,"
"Alright, but what allies?"
"Sorry, Hunny that will spoil the surprise…just know that they are on our side kay,"
"Alright, I'll call him," Rose assured. She narrowed her eyes and they glowed red for a moment. When they faded, she looked at her father.
"He can be here in about two hours," Rose said, "he also has some news to tell us too,"
"Perfect, I will let our guests know,"
"Guests? What Guests?"
"Uh…that is the complicated part," Slade finished evasively.
Slade kissed her daughter on the forehead before leaving the office, he would deliver the message to the Justice League and then return to do some paperwork while he waited for O'Brian to show up. Hopefully, the League wouldn't mind waiting a bit. It would give them a chance to process everything that had happened.
He returned to the Guest wing and opened the door to see the Justice League, minus Alucard were all sitting around the table; each of them had something to eat and a mug of a hot drink in front of them. Green Lantern stood off near the window and was looking out of it wistfully.
The League looked at him as he entered.
"So, I spoke with my daughter, our spy on in the Justice Lords tower will be here in two hours. We should be able to track your missing team member then," Slade said.
"Too long," Green Lantern hissed.
"I know but it's the best we can do. It's either wait two hours and get the location or fly around the country scanning everything which will take far longer," Slade pointed out "Besides, you can use these two hours to plan your attack,"
Flash stood up and looked at Slade.
"You were Tracking Trevor and Alright…where did Trevor take Al exactly,"
"Some private bunker," Slade shrugged.
"Can you show me on a map?"
"Yeah, but why would you want to go there. Trevor's will be gone and would have already alerted Batman to our raid by now,"
"Als missing some of his clothes, I want to get them back," Flash insisted.
"We didn't see any clothes while we were there. Some torn rags were in the corner of the cell we found him in but nothing else," Slade responded.
"I think I'll take a look all the same," Flash responded defensively.
"Fine, I'll get a map," Slade sighed. He left the guest wing and came back five minutes later with a map of Metropolis. Slade pointed out where the bunker was on the map and told Flash how to enter it. Once he had all the details, Flash zoomed out of the White house.
Slade left to do some Paperwork while he waited for his contact to arrive.
Justice League Earth, Watchtower
J'onn was in the Monitor womb upgrading the watchtowers systems, after making several public appearances, stopping several crimes, and taking down a few low-key gangs; the Justice Lords headed up to the watchtower to investigate it.
They were disappointed to see how inferior and undefended it was compared to their own and they quickly set about upgrading it. Such as making it more durable and installing their own monitoring programs and first response software that they had brought over with them.
J'onn was doing final tests on the new programs to make sure everything was working as it should. After all, if the Justice lords were going to take over then they wanted to be able to rule this earth as effectively as they had their own. Suddenly the monitors beeped and J'onn looked over at it.
He raised an eyebrow at what the new system had picked up on.
"Odd," he said. Superman flew in with the rest of the Lords at that moment.
"What is?" he asked.
"There is a robbery in progress," he responded.
"Bank? ATM, Jewellery store? Museum?" Lord Green Lantern asked.
"Nether…a Liquor store on Metropolis MainStreet,"
"Who would rob a liquor store?" Wonder Woman asked.
"Trevor," Hawk Girl immediately answered.
"I would normally agree, except he's back in our world with Batman," Superman pointed out.
"I will check the camera footage against this world criminal database," J'onn said "Give the system a moment to find a match,"
While Lord J'onn imputed the commands Wonder woman flew up and watched the screen. After a few moments, the search was complete.
"So, anyone we know?" Lord Wonder Woman asked.
"The system is not identifying any known criminals," J'onn claimed "Perhaps we are dealing with mere teenagers,"
"I'll still go down and take a look," Lord Superman smiled, he held an eager and psychotic glint in his eye "I could use a drink,"
"Don't kill anyone," Lord Hawk Girl called after him as Lord Superman flew out.
It didn't take long for Lord Superman to reach the store that was supposedly being robbed. He would have got there sooner but he wanted to give whoever was foolish enough to commit crimes in his city a chance to get away. It made it so much more enjoyable when he caught them and crushed the culprits with his Super Strength.
He landed outside the shop, there was glass everywhere and the window was broken. Lord Supermans' eyes glowed blue as he scanned the shop with his X-ray vision. Genuine surprise-filled Lord Supermans' face as found the only person in the shop. He sighed and walked in.
"Trevor? What are you doing here?" Lord Superman asked as he walked in "and where's the owner?"
Trevor looked up at Lord Superman, the Justice lord's eyes lowered to see Trevor had already helped himself to several bottles, one or two were already empty and lying on the ground while at least four others had been smashed into his pockets and belt. There were also three boxes filled with liquor next to him and they looked ready to go.
"Buggered off, figured this would be a good way to get your attention," Trevor shrugged as he pulled off a bottle of whisky from the shelf and examined it closely.
"Well, you've got it," Lord Superman said and folded his arms "Now tell me what you're doing here,"
"You want the good news, the bad news, or the really bad news,"
"Trevor," Lord Superman warned. He hated when Trevor asked that question, especially because Trevor never seemed to care about what Lord Superman wanted.
"Fine fine, the bad news is those other heroes are gone,"
"What do you mean gone?" Superman demanded.
"I mean they are gone. They escaped. All of them,"
"What about the one you took? Alferd…Alucard or whatever,"
"Alucard and he got picked up by the resistance,"
"What?"
"Yep, the leader personally burst down my door and shot me in the head again and when I recovered, he was gone,"
"Oh, joy, something to look forward to when we get back," Lord Superman sighed "I suppose it's only a matter of time before the League re-group and head here,"
"Yeah, Bats is setting a trap for them at the portal. He's convinced he can take them on his own but I came to warn you just encase,"
Lord Superman nodded. He knew the Justice League would have a hard time navigating their world. They would receive no help from the citizens and the army knew how to identify potential threats. Even if the League looked like them, the difference between the Justice Lords and the Justice League was so obvious; Lord Superman was honestly surprised no one on this earth had figured it out yet. Plus, he doubted the League would try to find the portal and leave the Justice Lords earth without locating both Alucard and Hawk Girl; which gave the Justice Lords some time to prepare for their return.
"Well thank you for the warning, now what is the good news," Lord Superman asked.
Trevor held up the bottle of whisky "I found some booze we don't have in our world," he said with an excited grin.
Superman groaned and pinched the bridge of his nose. "You know, I think Batman might be right. You do have a dirking problem,"
"It's only a problem if I stop," Trevor responded and continued to grab bottles of the shelves.
White House, Justice Lords Earth.
Superman walked to the room where Alucard had gone in earlier, the League had received word that President and his allies would be arriving to meet them in ten minutes. Flash had long since come back with the remains of Alucard's clothes, now the only thing left was to get the vampire out of bed. Superman hoped that Alucard had had a chance to propel rest. He reached up and knocked on the door before opening it slowly.
Superman was surprised that to find none of the beds had been used and that Alucard was sitting in the corner of the room with his knees pressed against his chest.
"Hey, you doing okay," Superman asked and he walked over to Alucard.
Alucard walked looked up at the man of steel and then lowered his head again. "No…I am not," he answered.
Superman glanced down at Alucard looking for injures, aside from the raw skin marks from where he had been bound and the large scar across his chest. Superman found no additional injuries.
"Flash went to get your coat and cape back. But they were pretty much rags when he arrived so he arrived. I don't know if they will be salvageable," Superman tried.
"If Flash brought even small pieces of fabric back…I can use magic to fix it back at the castle," Alucard responded.
"Handy," Superman nodded.
"So, Slade and his Resistance leader friends are coming for a meeting, do you want to be there?"
"Do I have a choice?"
"Of course, you do,"
"If I say no, will they barge in here and collar me again?"
"We won't let that happen," Superman promised.
"Then…Are you going to make me kill them too?"
"What?" Superman asked, visibly shocked.
"The Justice Lords, Slade wanted me to kill them…would you make me do it too?"
"No, I would never ask you to do that. We don't kill in the Justice League,"
"But I do, I'm good at killing I can slaughter armies by myself…barely anyone ever detects me. I could kill the whole justice League and in turn the Justice Lords with the power I have now…it would be easy,"
"But you won't,"
Alucard didn't respond for a moment.
"You won't do it right?" Superman asked again.
"No…I won't,"
Superman breathed a sigh of relief.
"Doesn't mean I haven't thought about it," Alucard contoured "This world would be far better off if the Justice Lords were dead,"
"I don't think I can deny that, but…a lot of people would still suffer for it,"
"How so?" Alucard asked confused.
Superman sat down next to Alucard.
"When people murder other people, the victims who are left behind are more often than not the ones who suffer the most. They feel hurt and are in pain of losing loved ones for petty reasons,"
"People felt like that in the past too," Alucard claimed "when vampires or other night creatures killed their loved ones,"
"It's not a great feeling trust me," Superman claimed "Anyway a way to elevate those feelings is seeing those who hurt them punished helps them. As horrible as this sounds, the victims' think that Death is too lenient,"
Superman paused to let Alucard absorbed this information.
"Now imagine a whole world where every person in the world felt like that against us. This world is so messed up that. How do you think the people would feel if someone else, an outsider took all those problems and went ahead and solved them?"
"I think they would be…happy," Alucard answered.
"They wouldn't. We're the outsiders in this situation. Sure, Slade may want us to deal with the Justice Lords. But if we deal with them in our own way that is when there will be problems as we will be enforcing our own laws and rules on a world and its populace that in the end won't accept our ways,"
"What if I did kill them?
"The people who've been hurt won't get closure or start to recover. If you just killed the Justice Lords, you're not solving any problems. Just opening the door for new ones that might be worse than the Justice Lords,"
Alucard thought for a moment and tried to process what Superman was saying. He had never much cared for politics or how people judged crimes but he could understand the desire to see Justice delt. Even in his father's court if one was wronged and the accused was found guilty, they were punished in a way that made up for whatever the crime was. Usually, this involved some form of torture, death, and loss of Territory. In some cases, all of the above. But in every case, the one who had been wronged had always been satisfied to see the culprit pay for their crimes.
"I think I understand what you are saying. If we simply killed the Justice Lords…that would deny the people of this world satisfaction of seeing them suffering as they have suffered," Alucard said in understanding "this world has a need to see the Justice Lords defeated, humiliated and must decide their ultimate fate in order to recover,"
"Uh…not…quite how I would have worded it but yes it would,"
"I believe there is wisdom in your words. You are saying just because I have the power to do something…does not give me the right to interfere or pass judgment for others," Alucard responded.
"Yes, exactly,"
"Then I don't understand, why the Justice League exists…what you are saying contradicts what the Justice League does every day,"
"Not exactly. It's true we catch bad guys, but we don't take the law into our own hands," Superman tired "it's why we hand people over to the Police,"
"But Batman…"
"Batman is rough and often takes things way too far. But at the end of the day, he hands the bad guys over to the police to face the people's judgment,"
Alucard nodded in understanding.
"Hmm…500yrs ago the church and the kings and queens decided who was innocent or guilty regardless of evidence. Anyone they did not like or feared was arrested for petty reasons, tired and executed on the spot," Alucard explained "Vampires are not forgiving creatures, Superman, we tend to kill any who hurt us,"
"Even if they were your friends,"
"Especially if they are friends,"
"What about Half Vampires?" Superman asked "What did they do,"
"I have no Idea…I have never met another Half-vampire," Alucard admitted "However this is not my world…so I suppose I have no right to hand out punishments for crimes delt by denizens of this one,"
"So, what do we do?" Alucard asked.
"We go back home, kick the Justice Lords out of our reality and hand them over to Slade,"
"Slade?" Alucard asked confused.
Superman nodded.
"Yeah, this place is messed up, there is no denying it and it will take a lot of work to fix it. Slade seems to want to do that and while his methods are probably extremely questionable, he seems to generally want to put the world back together," Superman reasoned "and he is the leader of the USA here so…he'd be the one to see the Justice Lords punished,"
"Is there a version of him in our world?" Alucard asked.
"Yeah, he's a paid mercenary. Batman runs into him from time to time," Superman answered "This Slade is definitely not like the one from our world,"
"You've met him?"
"He's tried to kill me a few times…almost succeed once too," Superman claimed "I guess it makes sense in a way,"
"How?"
"Well, we're the bad guys here. Makes sense that some of our Villains would be good guys," Superman shrugged "Karma can be a real pain in the neck,"
"Actually, I found Karma to be quite understanding," Alucard claimed "a little timid but understanding all the same,"
"Wait…is Karma a vampire? You've known Karma?"
"Don't be ridicules, Karma is not a vampire," Alucard scoffed and he sounded offended "clearly she werewolf,"
Superman stared at Alucard in shock. "Really?"
"No, that was a joke," Alucard responded with a smile.
"That's the spirit, now come on we need to figure out our next move," Superman said and he stood up. Alucard followed his lead.
"I still don't have a shirt," he pointed out.
"I'm sure Slade has one you can have," Superman assured.
They walked out of the room and back into the living area where the rest of the Justice League was waiting. The rest of the League looked at the two as Superman and Alucard joined them.
"Hey Al, so this was all I could find," Flash said sadly and held out a bag. Inside were the torn remains of Alucard's coat and cape. The coat was nothing but the upper shoulder and the cape was ripped into small pieces of dark fabric.
"Thank you for this Flash, I will fix them back at the castle,"
"You can fix them?" Flash asked "but they're ripped to pieces,"
"Magic has a surprising amount of uses…don't worry about it," Alucard waved him off.
Oval Office, a few minutes ago.
Slade was just packing up and singing the last of his paperwork. He hadn't done as much as he wanted since his mind was elsewhere. Rose was there helping him and going over some notes in the background; Slade was only half listening to her. All of a sudden, his office doors burst open, and in walked a man in a skin-tight red suit. He had black hair and was wearing sunglasses; the suit did not cover the man's legs or arms.
"Here's Jhonny," the man yelled out dramatically.
"Plas, good to see you," Slade said happily he got up and walked over to Plastic man and gave him a hug "everything going well up there?"
"Yep, none of the Just-Us Lords notice that I am not the mild-mannered but Eel O'Brian. But the infamous Plastic Man and I am hiding right under their noses,"
"And the fact that telepathy doesn't work on you and you can alter your molecular structure at will has nothing to do with it," Rose added.
"Hey, now that's just mean, clearly it is my amazing James Bond-like skills that make me a master of stealth and lets me remain under detected,"
"No, it's definitely the telepathy thing," Rose insisted and she walked over and hugged Plastic man.
"Rosebud I am hurt," Plastic man said and shifted into a broken heart "how could you break me like this,"
Rose just rolled her eyes as Plastic man reformed.
"Anyway, you guys are not going to believe this but the Justice Lords are gone," Plastic man said excitingly "our problems are solved,"
"What are you talking about?" Slade asked.
"They went down to Gotham and then the Watchtower lost their com signals. Last I checked only Batman and Trevor are still here,"
Slade Groaned, "I guess that means they were right,"
"Who was right?" Plastic man asked.
"We have some gusts, there in the Guest wing now and we need to have a very serious discussion with them about the Justice Lords," Slade informed.
"Does this mean I finally get to meet these mystery people you brought in?"
"Yeah, you both do," Slade said "come on, I've kept them waiting long enough,"
Slade led his daughter and Plastic Man through the White House corridors, stopping briefly in the presidential suite for Slade to grab a spare pale blue long-sleeved buttoned-up shirt. Rose and Plastic man were curious about it but when they asked Slade merely responded he owed someone a new shirt. They headed back towards the guest wing, passing several servicemen who gave the president and his daughter a nod of respect.
"So, who are these people we're meeting Rosebud?" Plastic man asked.
"I don't know. Dad won't tell me," Rose answered.
"Oh, a secret," Plastic man said and shifted into a form that resembled Sherlock Holmes "don't worry Watson and I are on the case,"
"Knock it off Plas," Slade snapped.
"Then tell us who we're meeting," Rose demanded.
"We are meeting the only people capable of taking down the Justice Lords for good," Slade said seriously "if they can't do it…then no one can,"
Plastic man and Rose stared at Slade in shock.
"Dad…what kind of Metas did you find?" Rose asked.
"You will find out in a few minutes," Slade responded.
As they approached the guest wing Slade stopped in front of the door.
"They're in here, but before we go in don't do anything reckless or to provoke them. They're not happy with me at the moment and I don't want to lose our chance of working together," Slade advised "oh, and don't freak out either,"
Rose and Plastic Man nodded and Slade opened the door. They walked in and were stunned to see the Justice League sitting around the table. Plastic man immediately screamed and his eyes and tongue jumped out of their natural place. Like an old cartoon.
Rose quickly moved Infront of her father to shield him from the Justice Lords' wrath.
"Dad run, it's the Justice Lords," Rose panicked "I'll stall them, get to safety,"
The Justice League glanced at each other and looked back at Slade and his two friends. They were unsure if they should interfere or not. J'onn however narrowed his eyes and focused solely on Rose.
"Rose it's fine, they're not the Justice Lords," Slade assured. He moved around his daughter and tossed the shirt to Alucard. The vampire caught it in one hand and looked at Slade with suspicion. "You want to cover your scars or not?" Slade asked.
Alucard begrudgingly pot the shirt on and buttoned it up.
"But that's Superman he's…he's…in the wrong costume…wait…is that Flash?" she gasped in surprise at seeing Flash.
"Hi," Flash smiled and gave a friendly wave.
"How is…how is he alive…and who's that?" Rose asked pointing at Alucard "Also how is Flash alive?"
"Who are those two?" Wonder Woman asked.
"The one in red is Plastic Man, he's an aspiring hero with shapeshifting abilities," Batman answered "he mainly deals with low key criminals, petty theft that sort of thing,"
"Uh…should I be worried?" Plastic man answered.
"We have a counterpart in our world," Superman claimed.
"Of course, you do," Slade sighed "well this is Plastic Man, he's my inside man on the Justice Lords Tower. He works in monitoring the planet and sends the resistance info on the Lord's movements and plans,"
"He's your spy," Superman stated.
"Slade nodded "and this," he gestured to Rose "Is my daughter, Rose,"
"Slade has a daughter?" Batman asked.
"I take it I don't have a child in your world," Slade said.
"No, you don't," Batman agreed.
"World? Dad, what is going on here?" Rose asked confused "Why are you being so cordial with the Justice lords?"
While they were talking J'onn sent a mental message to Alucard.
"Alucard, can you use your magic to summon a small ball of fire?" J'onn asked through their mental link.
"Yes…why?"
"Do it and throw it at the girls' feet,"
"Why? Is she a threat?"
"I need to confirm something…if my suspicions are correct, she is the biggest threat on this planet,"
Slade opened his mouth to answer however before Alucard flicked his wrist and conjured a small fireball in his hand and he threw it at Rose's feet. Rose screamed as her human skin melted away reviling pure White and her form changed to that of an Imperium.
"What the?" Slade asked.
"Thought so," J'onn growled angrily "White Martian,"
"An Imperium…here?" Batman said in surprise.
Before anyone could react, J'onn rushed forward and punched Rose in the jaw. The rest of the room watched in shock as J'onn violently started to beat up Rose. However, Rose being so close to the fire that Alucard had thrown at her was weakened and unable to fight back.
"Stop it," Slade demanded and tried to pull J'onn off his daughter "Leave her alone,"
"She's an Imperium, A White Martian. Her kind killed mine," J'onn claimed venously.
"I know she's a Martien," Slade shouted "I've known for years. But she had nothing to do with Mars's destruction,"
"It's true, I wasn't even there," Rose said weakly.
"What but…" J'onn responded, unsure.
"J'onn stop. This isn't helping," Batman tired, he then looked at Alucard "and you put that flame out,"
Alucard looked at J'onn before clenching his hand and the flame disappeared.
"Good now you tell us why you have an Imperium with you," Batman demanded at a Slade.
"Rose is a Martian?" Plastic man cried out.
"Yes, I'm a Martian," Rose admitted as she shifted back into her human disguise "a White Martian,"
"I found Rose almost 25yrs ago," Slade stated "I was out on a contract and had just finished when I saw a mentor land nearby. I went to investigate thinking it might be some alien tech but it was an injured White Martian. I took it home and treated it wounds hoping they would work for me…but to my suppose the Martian was the equivalent of a 4yr old,"
"A very scared, traumatized, and lost 4yr old," Rose added.
"Right, when Rose got better, she absorbed the English language from my mind. She told me of the war on her home planet and that she was put into a stasis pod to protect her. Apparently, her people were supposed to bring her out of it at the end of the war,"
"But that didn't happen, instead all the stasis pods were launched into space by the Green Martians and they shot each one of them down. Murdering all the White Martian children inside," Rose said and glared at J'onn "My pod didn't explode, instead the blast activated the boosters and sent it spiraling out of control. It eventually crashed on earth,"
"Where I found her," Slade finished "I decided to take her and I raised her. She took on the form of a girl from one of the picture books stories I read her as she liked the look,"
"But isn't Rose a human name?" Plastic man asked.
"It is, my Martian name is Rosiy'inn," Rose confirmed "Dad shortened it so I would fit in better on earth,"
"J'onn did any of what she just describe happen on mars for you?" Green Lantern asked.
"There were Imperium weapon caches…but no children were there. In fact, it was us Green Martians who…who put our children into statis only for the White Martians to destroy them," J'onn said sadly "My own children were among them,"
"Another difference," Superman said "Rose, who started the war on mars?"
"The White Martian," Rose admitted "but it was only because the Green Martian would not share their gifts and resources with us,"
"That's a lie," J'onn shouted "You didn't need it, White Martian were war-driven, you wanted to conquer the universe and use our scientific advances to do so. You started the war when
"That is not true, White Martians were third-class citizens. We barely had anything and when we asked for a fair share or better living conditions you Green Martian refused. Your kind made it so hard that the only option was to fight for our basic right to live or die in squalor,"
"Guys, stop it. We're on the same team here," Flash intervened "Okay so the war on mars still happened but for different reasons. But we need to work together,"
"Flash is right, we know events happened differently in this world," Superman agreed "this is just another example of how our worlds are different,"
"Um, excuse me," Plastic man raised his hand "As much of a shock as finding out Rosebud here is an alien, why do you keep saying things like different worlds?"
"Oh boy, you are all going to need to sit down for this," Superman advised.
Rose and Plastic man did but Rose was still nervous around J'onn. They listened to both Slade and the Justice League explain the whole situation and go over the events that had taken place in the last 24hrs.
"So…you're not the Justice Lords? You're from another version of this world where your still protectors?" Plastic man asked in shock.
"Yes, our counterparts lured us here to capture and detain us while they take over our earth," Superman finished "We want to stop them but we can't leave without our Hawk Girl," Superman explained.
"What happened to your hawk Girl?" Rose asked suspiciously.
"She was injured and taken to a hospital, we should be looking for her," Green Lantern insisted.
"Calm down Lantern," Batman advised "Getting worked up doesn't help,"
"I'm sorry, I'm trying to wrap my head around all of this. The fact that the justice Lords have such technology is terrifying…but it sounds so farfetched," Rose said. she looked directly at Flash "yet the proof is right in front of me,"
"Proof?" Wonder Woman asked.
Slade nodded "Flash was killed, he sacrificed himself to stop Luthors plan five years ago, but the Lords saw it as murder. They got their revenge by storming the White House and Superman killed Luthor. Then it all went downhill,"
"So, I really was the catalyst," Flash said sadly "I'm sure I didn't mean to die,"
"I'm sure you didn't either, but we can't change what has happened, we can only try and fix it," Superman said.
"So, what is the plan then?" Rose asked.
"We need to get back to our world to do so. If we can find and control the portal that they used then we can take them on in our world. They won't have influence over there," Wonder Woman pointed out.
"That won't solve anything here though," Batman claimed "if we deal with the Justice Lords in our world and send them back here, nothing will change,"
"I was planning some raids on the Justice Lords supplies, if you want to help with those the resistance certainly would welcome the help,"
"Not an option either, it will only be a matter of time before they come back or they are alerted by my counterpart," Batman responded "We can't lose this element of surprise,"
"We don't have much time either, the reason the Justice Lords aren't on your earth anymore is because they are conquering ours," Wonder Woman claimed.
"Then you guys need to get back pronto," Plastic man said "But they are ruthless, can you even beat them?"
"No, we can't," Batman admitted.
"But you are them," Rose claimed "If anyone can beat the Justice Lords it themselves,"
"That is exactly why we can't beat them," Batman said seriously "the fact is they know us, how we think how we fight, and most importantly they are willing to cross lines we aren't,"
"Then what do we do?" Wonder Woman demanded "They tricked us, imprisoned us and…" she trailed off and looked at Alucard "And I won't what they did slide,"
"We all feel that way Princess, I'm not letting them get away with what they did to Shyera either," Green Lantern agreed.
"Well, there has to be some way to beat them," Flash insisted "I tricked evil Bats easily enough,"
"That's right…you did…" Batman trailed off, he suddenly realised something and lowered his head slightly to think "Hmm…I wonder…could it…no can't be that simple…could it?"
"What is it?" Rose asked.
"I was just thinking that we can't beat the Justice Lords because they are us…but Flash and Alucard don't have counterparts," Batman stated "which means…"
"Which means the Justice Lords don't know how they think," Superman realised.
"Wait, are you saying if we let them come up with a plan the Justice Lords won't be able to anticipate it?" Green Lantern asked.
"That would not be wise," Alucard spoke up "while your logic seems sound Trevor will know me. We fought together, made plans together…anything I come up with he will be able to counter,"
"We don't know if events happened the same way here as they did in our world," Superman reasoned "I mean just look at what we've discovered so far,"
"Let's ask," Green Lantern suggested and then looked at Slade, Rose, and Plastic Man. "Was there a secret war in the 1400s where all hell broke loose and Dracula went mad and tried to wipe out all human life on the planet?"
"What…No," Slade responded. More in confusion and shock than anything else "why would you even think that?"
"Okay, there we go. Your dad didn't go nuts and try to kill everyone," Green Lantern claimed.
"That proves nothing," Alucard snapped back.
"He's right, we didn't know about that whole thing until we met Al," Flash agreed.
"Hold on, an event like that happened in your world?" Plastic man asked "Does that mean Dracula is real in your world?"
"Was real, he's dead now and we are getting off-topic," Batman interrupted "we need a plan to take down the Justice Lords and we also need to get Hawkgirl back. You and two," Batman pointed to both Flash and Alucard "Are going to come up with something we can work with,"
