As always Please Review
Lord Batman sat at the Batcomputer typing commands away, after the Justice League had quite literary burst through his roof and he had surrendered and agreed to help them get home. With the Resistance making worldwide raids, Slade's daughter now in control of the Watchtower and the Batcomputer. Batman knew that the Justice Lords' days were numbered.
His only hope lay in that the Justice Lords would defeat and kill the Justice League and Slade, but Lord Batman didn't put much stock in that anymore. The League had tricked and weakened their control under Batmans' nose, then what chance did the Justice Lords stand against them.
Another reason for sending the League back was it would give him time to escape. Lord Batman could not become Bruce Wyne again as he had faked his death not long after they had taken over. He supposed he could adopt a new identity and just fade away into the background.
As he worked under the close watch of the Justice League, Flash walked over and leaned against the keyboard.
"So, you got any games on this thing?" Flash asked.
"No," Lord Batman answered.
"Bummer, I bet this would make a great gaming computer," the speedster commented "So I've been trying to figure a few things out about how you guys got this way. Is it true that when I…or this version of me died you all went rouge?"
"It didn't happen right away, but yes that was the result," Lord Batman answered "six months after your death we had completely taken over,"
"Well, I guess that proves it, looks like I am the conscience of the Justice League in both worlds," Flash said.
"Don't let it go to your head Jiminy," Green Lantern commented.
Lord Batman finished what he was doing and activated the portal. It came to life and the League looked at it.
"Done, this will take you back to Mertlptplis," Lord Batman claimed.
"How do we know it's not a trap?" Alucard asked.
Slade stared off into space for a moment. "I just got confirmation from Rose, she confirms what he says,"
"Come on, I'm eager to get home," Superman said and walked towards the portal. He went through and was followed by Green Lantern who was carrying a still unconscious Hawk Girl in his green energy medical tube. Alucard entered after him with J'onn and Wonder Woman. Flash was about to follow but he stopped, getting an idea.
"One more thing before I leave. So, you're our Bats counterpart, right?" Flash asked "Which means you know everything he knows,"
"I think that is fairly obvious and established by now,"
"Cool, cool. So, does that mean if I got you to write down your email address and any other backup address that you would use? They would be the same email addresses that our Batman uses?"
Lord Batman looked at Flash confused. Out of everything he thought the League or Speedster could ask or demand of him. His email address was not one of them.
"Why would you want that?" he asked.
"We're leaving," Batman growled. He grabbed Flash by the back of his costume and dragged him over to the Portal.
"Hey, stop it Bats, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," Flash protested. However, Batman ignored him "Come on, you can't keep your email from me forever,"
When they were close enough League threw Flash through the portal.
Lord Batman watched in confusion and raised an eyebrow. "Should I even bother asking about that?"
"No," Batman responded and he looked back at his counterpart "what will you tell your Justice Lords when they get back,"
"I quit,"
"Good," League Batman approved "By the way, it's taken a while but I think I finally figured out the difference between you and me,"
"Your Flash is alive and mines not?" Lord Batman shot back.
"We both looked into the abyss the day our parents were murdered and we saw the darkness of Humanity," Lord Batman claimed "but when the darkness looked back, you blinked," and League Batman walked through the portal without waiting for a response.
"Yeah, I did," Lord Batman sighed and shut down the portal once he was alone.
Metropolis, Justice League Earth
Lighting Crackled in a dark alleyway, it bounced off the nearby walls and trash skips. When it finally settled a door appeared and the justice League plus Slade emerged. They walked out of the ally and looked around.
"Are we sure we're on the right earth?" Slade asked "This doesn't look too much different from the Metropolis I know,"
"One way to find out," Flash said and he raced off. He returned a second later with a copy of the Daily Planet.
"And look at this, no sign of evil dictators…oh," Flash said as his enthusiasm got away from him.
"What is it?" Batman asked.
"Apetaly we've been taking extreme measures to Flash handed him the newspaper.
Batman took the paper and read over the article. "We're on the right earth," he declared.
"Then we need to get off the streets, if your counterparts find us, we will be in trouble," Slade advised.
"We're already in trouble, Trevor came ahead to warn the Justice Lords about us," Batman claimed "also my counterpart said some disturbing things about Trevor,"
"We need to get Hawk Girl to a proper Bed too, my ring can only do so much," Green Lantern insisted.
"We can't take her to the watchtower," J'onn said "the justice Lords will be there,"
"What about your castle?" Flash asked Alucard "our counterparts don't know about it,"
Alucard shook his head "If it was just us, I would agree, however…Slade cannot travel to the castle…he does not have protection,"
"Oh right,"
"I know a place we can lay low," Superman volunteered. Having no other option the League followed Superman, though Flash, Batman, and Slade had to be carried as the League flew through the air. Superman led them to a top penthouse apartment. They landed on a very large Balcony, the lights inside the apartment were on and superman knocked on the glass.
Lois was tried, after talking to Luthor she had started to notice small details about the new Justice League and she had to admit that he was right. The hint of pleasure Superman got when he dealt with criminals now, the way Wonder Woman glared at every man like they were a threat. Green Lanterns and Hawk Girls open flirting. Even if they didn't say anything out loud their body Language did.
The way this New Justice League was doing things seemed to be popular with the people but Lois knew it would only be a matter of time before the other shoe dropped and it baffled her that Luthor was the first to see it. Not her or anyone else. On top of all this, Superman was still avoiding her.
Lois had looked into some theories, while she did not believe that the League had been replaced by aliens, mainly because half the Justice League were aliens or already used alien technology. She instead looked into cloning, after all, Bizzaro was a clone but her investigations led to a dead end.
Deciding that she'd done enough for the day she headed home, had a bath, and was just about to go to bed when she heard a knocking. Lois groaned and rolled over intending to ignore it but it came again.
Lois sighed in frustration and got out of bed. Whoever was banging on her door would get a piece of her mind? She marched out of her bedroom and headed towards the door, however when she was halfway there, the knocking sound got louder. Lois stopped and realised that it wasn't coming from her door but her living room window, the one that led out to her Balcony.
Lois turned around and walked into her living room, the moment she did she nearly tripped over in shock. There standing on her Balcony was the entire Justice League with Slade Willson.
"Superman?" Lois gasped in surprise.
"Hey Lois, can we come in," Superman asked.
Lois frowned, she was unsure if this was her version of superman or not.
"I don't know, how do I know you're the real deal," Lois asked cautiously.
"She's met our counterparts it seems," J'onn stated.
"Lois it's us and we need help," Superman tired.
"Prove it," she demanded.
Slade stepped forward "Trust me it's them, my superman would have levelled this whole building for even demanding something like that,"
Lois looked at Slade confused; she of course knew of Deadshot but she was confused as to why he was with the League.
"Lethal weapon and pizza," Superman said.
Upon hearing this Lois let out a sigh of relief, she nodded and moved to open the door. The moment she did she pulled Superman into a hug. "Thank god you're back, what's going on? Who are those other heroes and why are you with Deadshot?"
"it's a long story, but right now we need to get Hawk Girl to a bed," Superman said.
Lois looked at Slade and the rest of the League, she stepped aside to let them into her apartment. As Alucard passed her, she sent him a glare, she was still salty from their last conversation. The interior was nicely decorated well with not overly expensive furniture. There were pictures on the wall of framed articles and a shelf showed off Lois various Pulitzers and prizes she had won for her Journalism over the years.
"Sorry to barge in like this but it's an emergency," Superman said.
"I bet," Lois said eyeing each member of the group, however when her eyes fell on Hawk Girl she moved. "My rooms just down the hall, we can put her into bed and I have first aid kit in the kitchen. Also, let me know if I need to call a doctor. Follow me," She turned and walked off into the apartment.
"Thanks," Green Lantern responded and followed Lois down the hall.
"You have a Lois here too?" Slade asked once they were gone.
"Yeah, she helps me out occasionally and covers all my stories," Superman claimed.
"Is it wise that we are here?" Alucard asked, "won't you other self-know of her and be keeping an eye on this place?"
"You don't have to worry about that," Slade smirked "Our superman actively tries to avoid the Lois Lane of my world. They can't hold a conversation anymore without it exploding into a shouting match,"
"But your superman still sees her," Wonder Woman assumed.
"Yeah, they still want to be together but they have vastly different views on the state of my world. Lois is convinced she can make superman see reason and superman wants to bring her round to the Justice Lords' way of thinking," Slade explained.
"And I bet neither me nor her will back down," Superman finished "I saw her on the other Batmans computer, she was looked like she was giving out orders. Is your Lois part of the resistance too?"
"She leads the Metropolis cell, they mainly specialise in intel gathering but when push comes to shove, they hold their own," Slade said proudly.
Lois and Green Lantern came back before Superman could respond. Once she came back, she put on some coffee and offered the League a drink. While she was making it the rest of the League had taken up seats and places around the living area.
"So, do you want to explain what's going on this time?" Lois asked once everyone had been settled.
"Well, it's complicated," Superman sighed.
"Try me,"
"Short version is we've been in another world. One where the Justice League is the bad guys. They founder world by pure accident and lured us too there's so our evil counterparts could replace us here and take over our world," Superman summarised "Oh and Slade here is the president of that world who is also leading a resistance against the Justice Lords and he has a Martien daughter,"
"Another world? Like a parrel earth," Lois asked.
"Yeah, but it's the kind where we're all evil and it sucks," Flash said.
"Huh, I guess Ultra-Huminite was wrong then," Lois said casually and took a sip of her coffee.
"Ultra-Huminite, what are you doing talking to him?" Batman asked.
"I wasn't, when you lot started being way too brutal dealing with smaller crimes, I went to see Lex. I assumed he did something to you all in your last Battle," Lois explained.
"A wise assumption, but Luthor had nothing to do with our other selves," Batman claimed.
"I know, he said the same thing. Anyway, during our discussion, I asked him if he knew what happened to you and he said Ultra-Huminites theory was you all had been replaced by aliens," Lois finished "I was looking into cloning and Lex didn't tell me his theory. So, what can I do to help?"
"You want to help?" Slade asked.
"Of course, can't get the exclusive if I'm not in the thick of the action," Lois grinned.
"Anything for a story," superman sighed.
"We need a place to keep Hawk Girl safe while we deal with the Justice Lords," Batman said.
"She's welcome to stay, I don't think I will be getting any sleep after this conversation anyway," Lois shrugged.
"But I'm more concerned about how are you going to beat yourselves," Lois said while tapping the side of her face "I mean your all pretty powerful and these other versions of you are equally powerful,"
"We don't know yet," Superman sighed "honestly, we've been lucky so far,"
"I could come up with another dumb plan," Flash offered.
"It may not work; we had the advantage last time because it was one person. Now we're facing seven and they will be expecting us," Batman pointed out.
"Time is not our side here either. They know we're on our way and are likely setting up countermeasures," J'onn stated "the longer we delay this confrontation the harder it will be to defeat them,"
"Then how can we defeat them?" Slade asked.
"We can't," Batman said "they know all of our moves, they know how we think and they are willing and ready to kill,"
"So, we have to kill to win? I won't cross that line, Batman," Superman insisted.
"We need to cross some kind of line, we can't win unless we do," Batman claimed.
"Why don't you ask for some help," Lois suggested.
"That's not a bad idea," Slade agreed "There's got to be a whole bunch of Metas in this world right, call on them to give you a hand,"
"Even if we did it would take too much time to get in contact and explain the situation. Plus, not everyone is willing to go toe to toe with superman. No matter what world he's from," Green Lantern answered.
"What if…" Alucard started but then stopped and shook his head "No…never mind,"
"Got an Idea, Al?" Flash asked.
"Yes but…none of you will like it,"
"What's your idea?" Wonder Woman asked.
"What you said…about others not willing to fight Superman. I just thought of one person who is always willing to fight you and…has on several occasions come close to victory," Alucard said "If your previous Battle accounts are correct,"
The whole room stared at him for a moment and realisation trickled in at who Alucard was talking about. They all turned to look at Superman, except Slade. The otherworldly president looked at everyone confused.
"What?" he asked, "what are you all thinking?"
"No, absolutely not," Supermans snapped and shot out of his chair "there is no way we are going to him for help. He'll demand something in return and he'll betray us the first chance he gets. It's not worth the damage he will cause later,"
Alucard filched back.
"I…I apologise…it was not my intention to make you upset," he said.
Superman sighed. He shouldn't have snapped like that "No need, I'm not angry at you,"
"Who are you talking about?" Slade asked.
"Luthor," Batman said darkly.
"But he's dead, he's been dead for years,"
"Your version is, ours is still alive and kicking," Green Lantern explained "He's in prison on Strikers Island,"
"Assuming he hasn't already escaped or been released again," J'onn added.
"Nope, not yet," Lois confirmed.
"That might not be a bad idea. I mean the Justice Lords hate the Lex Luthor for what he did to Flash, I bet they'd throw away all caution if he escaped," Slade claimed.
"Add to the fact that your reaction proves they would never consider to which means they won't think we would ally with him either. It will give us a fighting chance," J'onn added.
"Plus, he's got more experience with fighting you and the League than anyone else on the planet," Green Lantern nodded.
"I've said it before Superman, we can't beat them without crossing some kind of line. They chose their line now we need to choose ours," Batman claimed.
Superman narrowed his eyes; he knew Batman was right. The man of Steel closed his eyes and thought about everything that he had seen and all the cruelty that the Justice Lords had inflicted on their world. There was no way he would let them do the same to his.
"Alright, I've made a decision," he said seriously.
Strikers Island
Luthor was resting in his cell on Strikers Island when he was suddenly awoken by the sound of doors opening. He rolled over and moaned, trying to block out the noise, bad enough his prison bed was uncomfortable. He heard footsteps walking down the hall and he glanced at his cell door to see who was wandering past at this hour.
It was Mitchel, one of the night guards, he stopped in front of Luthors cell.
"Wake up Luthor, you've got a visitor," Mitch said.
"Aren't visiting hours nine till five?" Luthor moaned. He had no idea who would be visiting him at this hour.
"Not for me," Batman said and he stepped forward. With J'onn by his side.
Luthor immediately perked up, he got out of bed and walked over to the bars. Leaning forward to get a better look at Batman and J'onn.
"Interesting…very interesting," Luthor grinned "I was wondering when you would show up,"
Batman gave the guard a look and the guard walked away leaving the two heroes alone with Lex Luthor. Once he was gone Batman returned his attention to Superman's greatest enemy.
"You expected us?" Batman asked.
"Not you exactly, I was expecting at least one member of your gang of men in tights. Though not so soon," Luthor smiled and walked back over to his bed and sat down "So are you here to tell me what's going on, or is this a business meeting?"
"How did you know we would be coming?" J'onn asked
"Well, a group of fake versions of you shows up and now you're here,"
"You knew?" J'onn asked.
"I knew they weren't you; I knew that something had been going on but not what,"
"Unlike the rest of humanity that blindly worships a being from the stars, I have free thought. The short answer is I'm smart and they are not," Luthor shrugged "Plus you'd have to be blind not to notice that whoever was on the news was not superman,"
"Before we continue, what we are about to do, is for the good of humanity and I want you to know that we don't like you but we don't want to do the Alternative," Batman said "and what we tell you can never be repeated to anyone,"
"Before you piqued my interest, now you have my attention," Lex said eagerly.
"J'onn," Batman instructed and looked at his companion.
The Marten nodded and phased through the bars he walked up to Luthor and reached out and put his hands on the side of Luthors head. J'onns eyes glowed as he established a psychic link and transferred the information about the Justice Lords and their plans to Luthor.
Lex cried out in pain as his brain was overloaded. When he was done, J'onn stepped back and Luthor stumbled needing a moment to compose himself and process just what he had been given.
"Well, out of all the theories I had…that was certainly not one of them," Luthor said "I take it you're here for my help,"
"Considering the alternative,"
Lex thought for a moment, he could use this, and if the League needed his help which they did then he could ask them for anything in return. Suddenly a brilliant Idea formed in his head and he grinned.
"Alright I'll help you, but I want something in return," Luthor agreed "A full pardon being at the top of the list of course,"
"Superman is at the white house arranging as we speak, you get released only after the job is done," Batman insisted.
"That seems fair, I know it takes a few days to get the paperwork pushed through but I would like confirmation when the order is sighed. Also, I want something else as well,"
"What?"
"Nothing too evil I assure you, just a favour from Superman," Luthor grinned "one that I can call on at a later date,"
"No,"
"Oh well I guess we should all start bowing down to our new overlords then," Lex shrugged "Such a shame,"
Batman sighed "J'onn,"
The Martin nodded and reached to superman through the Physic link. After a minute the Martin refocused on Lex and Batman.
"He is not happy about it and says he will only agree if this favour won't hurt anyone," J'onn answered.
"I can live with that. Very well I'll help you," Luthor agreed. "The chance to take Superman down and gain his favour is too good of an opportunity pass. I assume you have a plan,"
J'onn grinned and shifted into a replica of Luthor. "Half a plan anyway," he said with Lex's voice.
"J'onn will take your place here, when the time comes, we'll send out a fake prison escape alert that you've escaped to lure the Justice Lords in," Batman explained "Taking them down however is another story,"
"And that's what you need me for. Hmmm…I have a few ideas,"
"Without killing them," Batman warned "if any of them die the deal is off,"
"Well, then it's your lucky day. I happen to have just the device you need," Luthor claimed "You recall that device that was powering up in our last encounter?"
"The one Flash took apart in your hands," J'onn said.
"Yes, it was a power disruptor. It is supposed to suppress any superhuman abilities, no matter what the source and it is non-lethal of course," Lex explained "Though I have no idea what effect It would have on you, Batman,"
"Is the effect permanent?" Batman asked.
"Don't know, I never got the chance to test it. At the very least it will weaken them enough for you to bring them to justice or whatever it is you plan to do,"
"Flash took the Device apart, you'd need to rebuild it," Batman stated.
"I can do that," Luthor agreed.
"And once it has been used, you will turn it and the blueprints over to the Justice League," Batman insisted "we will not leave such a device in your hands,"
"Oh well, I suppose every deal has its price," Luthor sighed "I can live without it,"
"Good," Batman opened the cell door and Luthor stepped out "Make a list of supplies and we'll get them for you, and Superman will oversee and assist you in re-constructing your device,"
"Very well, I assume you have a Battlefield in mind," Luthor assumed.
"Here, we will lure them to an unused wing of Strikers Island," J'onn answered "it will make the situation more believable and there will be fewer threats to civilians,"
"All good ideas, however, might I make a tiny suggestion," Luthor offered.
"What?" Batman snapped.
"Well luring Superman out with my prison escape is one thing, but you all seem to come running at any sign of civilian in danger. So why not add a hostage or two into the mix," Lex suggested and then looked at J'onn "they're will of course be now hostage but it will be a far more tempting bait if your evil selves believe there is,"
"I will take that under advisement. Now get to work," Batman ordered.
Watchtower, Justice League Earth Orbit
Lord Superman was looking out the large window in the monitor womb, he floated in the air staring down at earth with his hands clasped behind his back. He liked this view; it gave him a sense of satisfaction to look upon his earth and soon this earth will also be his. Superman wondered if Batman could get the portal to connect to other earths'.
More earths' meant more resources and more power. Plus, he got a sense of satisfaction when he and the rest of the Justice Lords trapped and outsmarted their counterparts. It meant that he was stronger, smarter, and more powerful than other Supermen. It proved that the mighty rule and he was the mightiest.
"Seriously, why the hell do they keep so much blood up here?" Lord Hawk Girl's voice broke Supermans concentration.
Lord Superman glanced down over his shoulder to see Lord Hawk Girl fly in with Trevor walking underneath her. The hunter was drinking again, he held a bottle in one hand that he was drinking from and a full blood bag in the other. After he had brought Trevor up to the tower, the hunter had decided to not only stash his stolen booze (which Lord Supermen could not convince Trevor to part with) and had gone to explore the tower. Lord Hawk Girl had gone with him for two reasons.
The first being to make sure Trevor did not break anything that ended the Justice Lords' lives. Just because Trevor couldn't die was no reason to leave the hunter unattended or risking him fiddling with something he shouldn't be.
The second reason was with Lord J'onn installing new updates, software, and other programs into the watchtower. Hawkgirl wanted to see if she needed to install any new protocols or upgrades to the infirmary. While she was looking over the medical tubes and their functions, Trevor had discovered a large storage freezer in the medical bay and found a good hundred or so bags of blood in it. A few were labelled with the Justice League's hero's names; likely donated blood encase they needed it later.
But they were separated from a large wall that had a Danger sign in front of the hanging bags and instructions not to touch them. So naturally, Trever ignored the sign and took a blood bag off the hooks and took it with him when he and Lord Hawk Girl left the infirmary.
Lord Superman refocused on the earth and was only vaguely listening into the conversation.
"I bet it's for the spawn of evil," Trevor claimed "Can't believe their feeding it,"
"Is that a bad thing?"
"Yeah, it gets stronger every time it feeds," Trevor explained "Considering the Justice League are supposed to be the non-dick versions of us, I have to say I am disappointed,"
"It's not human blood," Lord Superman said without turning around. Both Trevor and Lord Hawk Girl looked up at him.
"How can you tell," Lord Hawk Girl asked.
"I can smell it and what your holding does not smell like human," Lord Superman claimed.
"Maybe it's Martin blood," Trevor ponded "or Thanagarian or Kryptonian,"
"Nope, none of those either," Lord Superman confirmed "Don't know what kind of Blood that is but it's not from any race I'm familiar with,"
"Well, who or whatever this came from there is a huge freezer in the infirmary filled with it," Trevor claimed.
Suddenly the alarm went off, Lord Superman, Lord Hawk Girl, and Trevor immediately forgot about the blood and rushed up to the control console where Lord J'onn was typing away. Lord Green Lantern and Lord Wonder Woman flew into the Monitor Womb a moment later.
"What have we got this time?" Lord Green Lantern asked.
"Prisoner escaping on Strikers Island," Lord J'onn answered. He suddenly stopped typing and stared at the screen in shock for a brief moment "It's…It's Lex Luthor,"
"You don't say," Lord Superman said a little too eager.
"The Island has shut down the mainland boat and he's corned in the warden's office, but he's taken a hostage," Lord J'onn continued.
"Well, we better go down and deal with him," Lord Superman announced "and save the hostage of course,"
He turned to walk away only to be stopped by Lord Hawk Girl.
"Hold on, It's too soon. We act out and this world will act against us," she warned.
"Let them try," Lord Superman responded with a cocky smile "we're the ones with powers, what can they do?"
"Start a Resistance, be a constant thorn in our sides, and have a leader that is so good at hiding that we haven't been able to discover their identity in almost 6yrs," Trevor answered as he counted the list on his fingers "oh and then there's the fact that said Resistance somehow keep getting their hands on plans, disrupting our secret supply lines, military troop movements and do everything they can to piss us off,"
Lord Superman sent Trevor a death glare. Trevor was lucky that Lord Supermans' way of dealing with people didn't work on him or the Justice Lord Leader would have killed Trevor long ago. Lord Superman turned back and looked at Lord Hawk Girl.
"Alright, I suppose I can wait. It will make killing Luthor again later even more enjoyable," Lord Superman Grinned.
It didn't take the Justice Lords long to fly down to Strikers Island. They piled into the Javelin and in under twenty minutes they had landed. There was no one there to meet them which might be considered odd in some cases but the Lords strolled into the prison and headed to where Luthor was reportedly held up with his hostage. The notification they received at the tower had provided his location on the island.
The Justice Lords burst into a small confined room, it was not a cell and it was in an empty prison block. It was about the size of a prison cell, when the League entered, they saw Luthor at the other end. But there was no sign of a hostage.
"Alright Luthur, where is the hostage," Lord Superman demanded.
Lex took a few steps back until his back was pressed against the far wall. He gave the Lords a cocky smile.
"Sorry," League J'onns voice came out of Luthors mouth and Lex phased through the wall.
"It's a trap," Lord J'onn yelled.
But it was too late, the entry sealed shut with a metal plate and Electricity filled the room, as they began to collapse one after another on the ground.
Outside League Batman was fiddling with controls and dials, keeping the energy flowing through. Standing behind him was the rest of the Justice League and Alucard. Superman and Slade were not with them. The League knew this trap would work because it worked on them.
Unfortunately, events mirrored themselves and several bangs could be heard from inside. Justice Lord Hawkgirl was trying to mirror her counterparts' actions to escape. League Green Lantern moved over to the exit of the room. He raised his arm, ready to shoot Hawk girl the second she burst through.
With one last might bang, the trap was broken and League Green Lantern hesitated upon seeing Lord Hawk Girl.
"Lantern, do it now," League Batman called.
League Green Lantern shot a beam from his ring however it was deflected and the Justice Lords flew out of the trap and into the empty prison block.
"Only fight your counterparts, Flash support everyone and keep Superman's counterpart busy," League Batman ordered as he and the League sprang into action.
League Wonder Woman and Lord Wonder Woman immediately clashed with each other. Their fists colliding sent shockwaves thought out the whole building. League J'onn and his counterpart each flew into the air, shifting into different creatures and both trying to restrain the other. However, their powers worked against each other. The two Green Lanterns entered a Battle of will with each other.
League Batman targeted Lord Hawk Girl and fought her while Flash distracted Lord Superman with annoying antics, such as throwing furniture and debris at him with high speed. This did not stop Justice Lord superman or harm him. When the Lord Superman got close to Flash, he would dash away and make comments on how slow he was. This only severed too irate him more.
When Trevor finally staggered out of the trap He looked around, taking in the Battles and the situation.
"Nope, not getting involved in that," he said. He started walking away from the fights, intending to leave however suddenly a blur of white and sliver assaulted him; grabbing him by the chest and in a second Trevor was thrown out of the interior of the prison and onto the yard.
Alucard floated down and hovered above him. Sword drawn and ready to fight. Trevor chuckled and pushed himself up and looked over at Alucard.
Alucard slowly began circling around Trevor, trying to gauge what kind of first move the hunter would make. It was clear that this fight would not go like the one Alucard had with his version of Trevor back when they first met. He could see the calculating look in the hunters' eyes. Anger, pain Loss, and Hatred. They were all there and all directed solely at Alucard.
"So, you're fighting me, are you?" Trevor asked and readjusted his shoulder "not a very smart move on your part,"
Alucard's only response was to get into a battle stance with his sword and narrowed his eyes.
"You sure that's a Good Idea?" Trevor asked and withdrew his combat cross. "I mean did you ever wonder what happened to you in my world, why you weren't around?" he asked.
Alucard's foot shifted slightly but still did not strike. He was watching, waiting for an opportunity to present itself.
"You don't exist in my world because I killed you," Trevor claimed.
"I assure you I will be harder to kill," Alucard responded.
"I'll be the judge of that," Trevor grinned and pulled out the small sonic device. He quickly unleashed the combat cross and its chain whip flayed through the air and slammed into the ground. The whip hit the ground with such force that it exploded beneath Alucard's feet. The holy weapon impacted the exact second Alucard launched himself at high speed towards Trevor.
The second Alucard was in the air Trevor activated the device, hoping to once more overpower Alucard's sensitive hearing. However, Alucard did not stop or react to the high-pitched noise.
Alucard had not fought any supervillains one on one since waking up. He was always with the Justice League; however, he had fought both with and beside Trevor Belmont before. This gave him some insight into his Battle tactics and moves. However, unlike several hundred years ago, the people of this time period seemed to have more survival instincts and far better reaction time. Trevor tilted his head slightly to avoid the strike and twisted his body around to slam his boot into Alucard's face.
However, Alucard was able to place a hand on Trevor's leg and use it to flip himself over the hunter and applied pressure to Trevor's lower arm, causing him to drop the deceive. He landed a few feet behind him and followed his landing up with a leg sweep. Trevor jumped over it allowing Alucard to catch the sonic device and crush it in his hand. Trevor landed and the two locked eyes.
They did not need to speak any words to convey what they both knew. They'd have to treat this fight seriously. No playing around. Trevor's intent was clear, he was out to kill Alucard. But Alucard would not go down without a fight and the certainty didn't wish to kill Trevor.
"How did that device not affect you?" Trevor growled.
Alucard tapped his ear "Batman kindly provided me with Sonic earbuds…they cancel out anything above a certain hertz…whatever that is," Alucard answered and opened his hand to let the circuits and metal remains of the device fall to the ground "anything louder than a man's scream I will not hear,"
A wicked smile formed on Trevor's face "I'm glad you had the foresight to protect against that device. It's more fun to do this the old-fashioned way,"
"Agreed," Alucard responded and slammed his hand on the ground. "Stalagmites," Alucard cried as his magic flowed through the ground and several massive spiked triangles pointed rock shot up trapping Trevor between them and limiting the hunter's movant. Alucard would suffer no such disadvantage thanks to his Vampiric flight.
"So, this was your plan, tarp me between a rock and a hard place," Trevor mocked. He focused and then began to push against the stones that entrapped him. They began to crack and waver. Alucard put more of his magic into the spell, however, this proved futile as Trevor's brute strength was overpowering Alucard's magic and he broke free of the spell. Destroying the rocks causing smaller ones to fly through the air at a dangerous velocity. leaving heavy debris littering the Battlefield.
Alucard was shocked, his Trevor was not strong enough to break through magic, he didn't have the mental focus for it nor should it be possible for a human to physically destroy such thick stone using their bare hands. Alucard knew Trevor was still human, he could smell it. He also knew that Meta-Humans were capable of impressive feats of strength and it had a limit.
Trevor used his whip to smash through the rocks around his feet giving him his movement back.
"Nice try Batboy, what other cute tricks have you got?" Trevor asked in a cocky tone.
Alucard narrowed his eyes and the reaming rubble began to glow a dark aura, Alucard directed his hand and the rock shot forwards, flying at Trevor. Trevor protected himself by spinning his whip-round in front of him, knocking each incoming rubble away with its momentum. Alucard spied one rock that was far larger and wider than the other and sent it flying at Trevor.
"That won't work," Trevor shouted as he smacked the rock to pieces. Only to reveal that Alucard was right behind it, having used the rock as a feint to block the hunter's view. Trevor didn't have time to react before Alucard's sword sliced across the hunter's upper shoulder. Blood sprayed out and Trevor cried out in pain and stumbled back.
He put his hand on his shoulder and glared at Alucard. "So, you draw first blood, typical for a vampire," the hunter hissed out.
"And you are the first one to complain about being hurt…Typical for a Belmont," Alucard shot back.
Trevor lunged forward, deciding to forgo his whip this time and to strike with his fist. With a strong forward step, he swung at Alucard with a right cross. But the vampire swiftly dodged, but Trevor was an experienced fighter and anticipated this. Using his other hand, he flipped his combat cross around and a metal stake shot out of the handle.
In the fraction of a second Alucard turned his head, narrowly missing what could have been a fatal blow. Instead, it sliced through his hair making it uneven and creating a bit of a hole behind the vampire's ear. The force behind it was stronger than Alucard was expecting, he was grateful for having the speed to avoid being staked.
Taking advantage of his new opening Alucard struck Trevor's ribs multiple times, with a sickening crack and snapping sounds following as Trevor flew back several meters and slammed into the prison wall.
Alucard watched the hunter stand, as the not even that could keep him down. Trevor pushed himself up and threw away several heavy stone bricks that had fallen on him with ease, he regained his balance and tall for in front of Alucard before he stumbled forward, the damage done from the Battle starting to kick in as he put a hand to his probably cracked ribs. But after two or three steps, Alucard noted the pain in Trevor's face recede until it was gone.
Alucard narrowed his eyes, he could no longer smell the internal bleeding. Looks like he would be taking this fight seriously.
Trevor and Alucard rushed forward at each other again, trading blows, neither one willing to back down from the other. With the fight picking up Alucard did his best to stay close to Trevor to limit the use and chances of being hit by his Combat Cross. While it was a different weapon from the Vampire Killer he was used to. Alucard had already been on the receiving end of it back in the Justice Lords world and it both felt and hurt like he had been struck with the Belmonts legendary whip.
Trevor on the other hand drew his sword and tried to put distance between him and Alucard so he could use the whip. He knew it could hurt Alucard and if Trevor could hit him just once, it would stun and weaken the vampire too but the basted was not allowing him to get away far enough to use the Belmonts signature weapon.
When one landed a blow the other blocked or dodged, it was a constant dance between the two. While Alucard had been confident at the start he could outlast Trevor his confidence was starting to waver. No matter what Alucard did or how he was injured, Trevor would just heal again. Alucard had been doing his best to avoid any fatal or permit injuries. What was even more concerning was Trevor's strength and speed suppressed Alucard's.
So far Alucard was able to keep Trevor on the defensive, limiting the Belmonts movement and staying in close range was a good way to keep him from using the Vampire Killer. But the way the fight was going, it would only be a matter of time before Trevor got lucky and got a chance to use the whip again. That chance came sooner than Alucard thought. Their swords crashed together once more, both pushing against the other, Trevor suddenly headbutted Alucard causing the vampire to lose focus. The instant he did Trevor kicked Alucard away from him and drew his whip and flung it at Alucard.
The Combat Cross slammed into Alucard with such force that he was blown back across the Battlefield and bounced a few times, dropping his sword before finally rolling to a stop against some heavy rubble.
Alucard groaned and struggled to move, he hated being on the receiving end of the Belmonts Family whip. Trevor however did not wait or give Alucard the chance to recover. Trevor lashed out with his whip once more, however, Alucard's sword flew through the air, heeding its masters' mental commands. The Blade flew into one of the whips chain links; diverting its strike. Trevor snapped his head to look at the sword only to watch in horror as it flipped, pointing the end of the blade to the sky.
"Oh, you bastard," Trevor cursed. Alucard smirked as the blade shot upwards into the sky at an incredible speed, taking the Combat Cross and Trevor with it.
This gave Alucard the moment of reprieve he needed to collect himself after being hit by the vampire killer and he took off into the sky after his sword and Trevor. He caught up when the sword stopped moving above cloud level. Trevor was dangling off the handle of the Combat Cross. Despite the fact the air Pressure was very high, there was barely any air and it was freezing cold. Frost crystals were forming on Trevor's hand, the Combat Cross and Alucard's sword.
Trevor still held on and was still alive.
"Intriguing, you are still alive even up here," Alucard said as he floated over "I am part vampire so it is natural that my body would be more adept at surviving altitudes that normal humans cannot…so how are you still alive Trevor Belmont,"
"F…F…F…F…Fuck…you," Trevor shivered out.
"Quite," he responded before punching Trevor in the ribs again. Using his vampire speed and the fact that Trevor no longer could fight up in the air, Alucard repeatedly bunched and kicked the dangling hunter over and over in different spots. Trevor's clothes became stained with blood as Alucard's assumed continued.
Finally, he stopped and Alucard looked over Trevor's bruised, heavily injured, and swollen form. He felt a little bad for his old friend.
"I want you to know that I take no pleasure in this or what I am about to do…but I cannot allow you or any of the Justice Lords to win," Alucard said in an apologetic voice "You were a worthy foe, Trevor Belmont,"
All of a sudden, his sword flipped again, this time the blade pointing downwards. The chain began to slide off the blade and when it was free; Trevor Belmont fell. Alucard watched his friend fall for a moment, he reached out his hand and his blade dutifully returned to him. Alucard then angled his body and flew downwards after Trevor at high speed. Allowing gravity and with the extra push from small bursts of magic, Alucard aimed his sword carefully downwards, running his free hand over the blade and igniting it in blue flame.
The flames danced in the air as Alucard continued to increases his speed, he hoped timed this correctly. He could see Strikers Island fast approaching and noted that there were Flashes of light beams coming from the fortress. But Alucard refocused on Trevor who was approaching the ground.
In a last-ditch attempt to win the day, Trevor flung his whip out at Alucard. However, the vampire parried it away with his blade and then it happened.
Impact.
Boom…Trevor's body hitting the group sent shockwaves throughout the Island. Trevor felt every single bone in his body shatter at once, he couldn't move, couldn't breathe only stare up blankly as he was overcome with the pain of his whole body began to heal at once. Due to the force of Impact, The Combat Cross lay loosely in Trevor's hand
He coughed up blood, however before he could move, Alucard and his sword slammed down onto the island, once again sending vibrations across it, knocking the Combat Cross away from Trevor's reach and grip.
Trevor stared up at Alucard in shock, his eyes moved and he saw the blade had only barely missed his head. The blade alit with blue flames was only bear inches next to his head, he could feel the heat from it and he stared up at Alucard and let out a sigh.
Finally, this battle was over.
Alucard panted heavy, his sword still alight with blue flame and he was visibly shaking. The last day and been forced to fight his friend had taken its toll on him. He could hear the rest of the League coming and he willed the fire on his sword to go out. Alucard took a deep breath and removed the blade from near Trevor's head, turning to face the Justice League.
"You alright?" Flash asked.
"No…I'm not," Alucard answered "but I will be,"
"Lantern, would you mind taking the whip…I cannot touch it," Alucard requested. Green Lantern nodded and picked up the
"Should I shoot him too?" Lex asked as he walked over and aimed his invention at Trevor.
"Wait," Alucard said and stood in his way. Lex glanced at Superman for the go-ahead.
"Alucard move, we have to disable his powers while he's hurt," Superman instructed.
"If you do that he will die," Alucard claimed "I just…I just dropped him over Sixty thousand feet in the air…let him heal a bit before we take his powers away,"
"Fine, Wonder Woman tie him up with your lasso so he can't try anything," Superman ordered.
Wonder Woman approached with her lasso of truth in hand. Alucard stepped back to allow her to pass and she pulled Trevor into a sitting position and tied Trevor up. As she did, Trevor grunted in pain and something small slipped from in his clothes.
"Fuck, can't you be more careful," Trevor swore at Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman decided to ignore the comment and Trevor began to look around at the ground. "Don't fall, don't fall, don't fall," he repeated under his breath over and over.
Superman looked at Alucard for an explanation however the vampire merely shrugged. After another few minutes, superman deemed Trevor healthy enough to be shot by Luthor. Wonder Woman pulled him to his feet and a small
"Shit," Trevor cried. A split second later he was hit with Luthors invention and he fell to the ground, all energy drained and like the rest of the Justice Lords, he fell unconscious. Finally, all the Justice Lords had been defeated.
"Well that sure was something," Slade said.
"Indeed, I have to say I had no idea this would work as well as it did," Lex smiled and looked over his power disrupter with pride. He then pointed it at Superman "It would be so easy to end this..."
None of the League moved as Lex walked up to superman, and held out the device.
"But a deal is a deal. Batman can stop by the office in a few days to pick up the blueprints," Lex said and he walked back towards the now almost destroyed prison "Oh and Superman I will see you later," he grinned.
"Are you sure letting him go free is a good idea?" Slade asked Superman.
"No, but the alternative was even worse," Superman answered. He turned to face the rest of the Justice League. "let's head back to the tower and deal with our evil counterparts and get Slade home,"
The League all nodded in agreement, Wonder Woman picked up Trevor and slung him over her shoulder as she did something small fell out from under his shirt and dropped on the ground with a light kinking noise.
Alucard glanced down and saw there was a locket on the ground, it was small and round with the Belmont crest engraved on the front. It had a broken chain, Alucard had probably cut it when his sword slammed next to Trevor's head. He picked it up and flicked it open, what he saw inside made him nearly collapse in shock. He snapped it shut and looked at it and then back to Trevor before pocketing his find.
