A.n I own Nothing

Superman yawned as he pushed himself out of bed, he glanced over at the digital clock next to his bed. It read 13:16. He was in his room upon the watchtower, it was fairly simple and rather bare. Like most of the rest of the League, he had his own home in Metropolis so he didn't see the need to decorate his room in the Watchtower, there were a few minor personal effects to give it a more personal touch but that was it.
The room came with a bed, a lamp, a chest of draws and two bedside tables, and one open window that held an amazing view of the earth. He stretched out and walked into the attached bathroom for a quick shower before getting dressed and heading out to check on Slade.
As he floated through the empty tower, keeping his ears open for any sound of the others who might be up. He was not surprised to find that the others were up yet. However, he did hear Alucard talking to Slade.
After they had returned to the Watchtower the League was exhausted from their latest adventure and it was unanimously decided they would get some much-needed rest. Unfortunately, since the Justice Lords were their prisoners, they were unsure how to handle them. depowered or not they still could pose a threat. Lex didn't know how long the power disrupters' effects would last as it hadn't been tested. However, he was sure it would last at least 12-24hrs and while the League was not willing to trust him on that; Luthors inventions had a reputation of working exactly how he wanted them to.
After a discussion on what they should do during the Javelin flight back to the watchtower, it was decided that the Captured Justice Lords would be restrained with both Lassos of Truth (the second one curtsy of Lord Wonder Woman) and Slade would guard them with the Power Disrupter on hand.
Slade was eager to take up that roll and sat on a chair with a big satisfied grin, his finger ready to shoot the Justice lords if they even so much as twitched. The Justice Lords were extremely unhappy about their situation and sent death glares at Slade and several very descriptive threats from Lord Superman about what they would do to him for this betrayal.
Slade ignored them and taunted them back and secretly enjoyed watching the Justice lords struggle against the Lassos of Truth. He was a little concerned about Lord J'onn and Lord Green Lantern. They might be able to escape; Lord J'onn could phase under the Lasso and Lord Green metropolis could call back his ring that had been taken.
Fortunately, those fears were unfounded and with Slade on duty, the League was able to get some rest.
Superman entered the room he noticed that Alucard was back to wearing his usual attire, but his long cape was still missing.
"Hey, your clothes are repaired," Superman smiled as he approached.
"They are…though my father's cape has not been fully repaired yet," Alucard answered "Due to its enchantments it requires more time,"
"How are you feeling? Did you get any sleep?"
"I am well and I did. When got back and the castle forced me to drink blood," Alucard sighed "everywhere I went there was a bucket filled with ice and spare blood bags on a table in the centre of the room. When I got to my coffin it was on top of it,"
"Sounds like your castle has a mother hen complex," Superman laughed "though I am surprised you didn't just feed before going to bed last night,"
"I did, the buckets following me around was when I woke up this morning," Alucard huffed.
"Oh,"
Over the next hour, the rest of the Justice League staggered out of bed and joined Superman and Alucard. All except Flash and Batman, Batman had apparently been up for a while going over the Watchtower systems to make sure the Justice Lords didn't mess with them. He was pleasantly surprised that the Watchtower had been upgraded and sent J'onn outside to check on the fortifications and extra protection to the outer hull.
Flash slept for another two hours before waking up and zoomed into the room eating a breakfast roll and drinking a large amount of Coffie. Once everyone but Hawk Girl was awake and, in the room, the League turned their attention to the Justice Lords.
"So, what are you going to do with them?" Flash asked Slade while looking at the justice Lords "When they get back to your world I mean,"
"Oh, they're not coming back," Slade claimed. The League looked at him in surprise.
"What? After everything they have done, you think I would let them come back?" Slade asked "Not a chance, if they come back, they will just take over again,"
"Then what do you want us to do with them?" Wonder Woman asked.
"Whatever you want, as long as it's not in my world I don't care what or how you deal with people like them here," Slade responded.
"We can't keep them here, they are too dangerous and could easily disrupt our world again," Batman said.
"Well, they're not going back to my world," Slade insisted.
"We could send them to the Phantom Zone," Superman pondered "At least mine, Wonder Woman and J'onns counterparts. They would be unable to escape and it is designed to hold dangerous creatures,"
"Why not all of them," Alucard asked.
"The trip there takes a toll and once there, there isn't much guarantee for survival…not for humans anyway," Superman answered "we'd have to think of something else for Green Lantern and Trevor,"
"I'll go to my fortress and get the Phantom Zone Projector," Superman announced.
It did not take long for the man of steel to fly down to earth and use return with the Projector. Once he did Wonder Woman helped bring in Justice Lord Superman, J'onn, Wonder Woman, and Hawk Girl. At Superman's request, Wonder Woman untied them and gave back the Lasso of truth to her counterpart.
With one quick zap, their evil counterparts were gone from this reality and trapped in the Phantom Zone.
Superman and Wonder Woman headed back to join the others. When they re-entered the Monitor Womb they walked over to the rest of the Justice League, Flash, J'onn were cleaning up the Watch Tower while Batman and Green Lantern was going through the watchtowers systems to make sure that the Justice Lords had not left any viruses or other surprises for them other than the upgrades.
Alucard and Slade were watching the Justice Lord Green Lantern and Trevor Belmont with the two remaining Justice Lords tied up in League Wonder Woman's Lasso of Truth.
Alucard did his best not to look at his former friend but found it hard. He knew that this was not the Trevor Belmont he had allied with, the Trevor Belmont he knew was an honorable man who would have never sided with the Justice Lords. Trevor kept sending Alucard hate-filled glares and it made the vampire uneasy.
"Is it done?" Batman asked without looking up.
"Yep, Justice Lord J'onn, Hawk Girl, Wonder Woman, and myself are now the newest residence of the Phantom Zone," Superman said.
"Are you sure that will be unable to escape?" Alucard asked.
"Positive, the Phantom Zone is a separate pocket dimension," Superman explained "trust me they are not getting out,"
Alucard nodded and then looked back at both Trevor and Jhon. They were the only two justice Lords that had not been dealt with.
"What about them...what is their fate?" Alucard asked.
"That's…difficult to determine," Superman admitted.
"They'll cause trouble if they stay here and we can't lock them up either because they look like us," Green Lantern said "Also my counterpart could just ask for another Power Ring if he gets the chance and the Guardians would send him one,"
"That would be bad," Flash said.
"I could mind wipe them, give them false memories, new identities...make them forget everything or that they ever came from another world," J'onn offered.
"What?" Lord Green Lantern gasped "You can't do that,"
"Are you sure we can't send them to the Phantom Zone like the others?" Wonder Woman asked.
"Positive, as I said earlier I doubt they would survive the trip," Superman said "Plus they'd likely be killed once they arrive. it's not designed for humans,"
"If it was you would have used it on Luthor years ago," Batman stated.
"For your information, I would never use the Phantom projector on anyone who could not survive the trip or the Phantom Zone itself," Superman claimed.
Batman stopped and looked at the man of steel.
"Really? You're telling me you never once thought about sending Luthor to the Phantom Zone for eternity?" Batman asked skeptically.
"Well...I mean...Okay, I thought about it a few times," Superman admitted.
Batman smirked and then returned to his task.
"So is J'onn going all total recall on them or what?" Flash asked.
Alucard opened his mouth to say something but Batman spoke again before the vampire could say anything.
"It's an old Sy-Fi movie that involves altering memories, get flash to show you later," Batman said without looking up.
"How did you know what I was going to say?" Alucard asked.
"I'm the greatest detective in two different universes. It was not hard to figure it out," Batman stated. He then looked at J'onn "This mind wipe, it won't kill them, will it?" he asked seriously.
"No, they will live out the rest of their lives as ordinary, harmless citizens of earth," J'onn answered.
"What about the alternate Green Lantern, if he gets his memory back can't he just ask for a replacement ring," Flash asked.
"I'll already send word to the Guardians about this incident, they won't be sending any rings to earth without taking proper measures to make sure it's from me," Green Lantern claimed.
"In that case, there is nothing to worry about," Wonder Woman said.
"Agreed, I will prepare to wipe their minds," J'onn said.
"Go ahead, but the thing while this guy may die not knowing who he is, I will remember," Trevor cried out "Those types of alterations fail with time and I'm immortal,"
He then looked directly up at Alucard.
"I will get my memories back and when that happens, I will come and kill you personally...just like I did to my Alucard," Trevor promised.
Alucard could tell he was serious and could hear the pure hatred and malice in his voice.
"About that...have you found out how he's immortal?" Slade asked.
"No but I believe it has something to do with this," Alucard said and pulled out locked with the Belmont crest on it.
"Why?"
"Oi be careful with that, given that back right now," Trevor demanded.
"Belmont has not stopped demanding it from me since I was looking over it this morning, also I noticed his injuries stopped healing rapidly after it dropped yesterday…My guess there is some kind of spell or something special about this locket," Alucard stated "Plus I sense magic coming from it,"
"Get your filth fucking half-breed monster hands off my family crest," Trevor snarled.
"Your friend is quite the charmer," Wonder Woman said sarcastically.
"I was under the impression humans got better with age," Hawk Girl said "But that appears not to be the case with him,"
Alucard was not paying attention, he was too busy looking at Trevor's family crest. He could feel dark magic coming from it, the Belmonts were known to dabble in the mystic arts to help them fight creatures of the night. After all, almost every weapon they had was enchanted in some way and the library underneath the Belmont Mansion had all manner of spells and incantations locked away.
"I will hold onto this and see if can't determine what enchantment was placed on it," Alucard said and he walked towards the door.
"Don't leave the tower," Batman called after him "we may need you should they try something,"
"Very well," Alucard said and then turned to J'onn "J'onn, might I…make a request?"
"What request?" J'onn asked.
"When you give Trevor a new personality...make it so he can't stand the taste of Alcohol," Alucard grinned.
"Oh, you fucking basted," Trevor swore.
"Very well," J'onn agreed.
"Wait what...no that is a cruel and inhuman punishment," Trevor cried.
Later Alucard was in his sitting on a table in the watchtowers kitchen and looking over the Belmont crest, he had had already identified what was inside and he knew a spell that would explain why Trevor had this, but he didn't want to perform it as he knew he would not like what he found. He was holding the amulet up by the chain so it dangled in front of his face.
Suddenly the door opened and Alucard looked over his shoulder to see Superman walk in. He turned his attention back to the pendant.
"Hi Alucard," Superman greeted as he walked over.
"Superman," Alucard said without taking his eyes off the pendant.
"So J'onns finished with Trevor and Green Lanterns' counterpart. They're unconscious now but when they wake up, they will have new personalities and new lives," Superman claimed "Green Lantern is a school teacher and Trevor is a motivational speaker who deals with Alcoholism,"
"Belmont would hate that," Alucard chuckled.
"I gathered, Batman is taking them and Slade down the Metropoles Hospital. It's about time Slade went home and he is going to pick up Hawk Girl from Lois's apartment and bring her back here for treatment,"
"Good…that's good," Alucard responded.
"Yep, with upgraded Medical Tubes, she should be alright in a few days," Superman informed. "So, how are you holding up?" he asked "You know with your friend trying to kill you and us effectively erasing him from his mind,"
"I am…coping," Alucard said.
"Look if you want to talk about it..." Superman started.
"My friend turned on me and not only tried to kill me once but twice in the last few days while he made plans to take over the world and nearly succeeded," Alucard shot back "so no I do not wish to discuss it,"
Superman was a bit surprised by Alucard's reaction. Alucard noticed the surprised look on Superman's face and let out a sigh.
"My apologies...I did not mean to snap," Alucard apologised.
"It's fine. these last few days have been hard on us all," Superman claimed "I didn't think I was capable of half the stuff that Slade said I did, but apparently, I am. So, find anything out on this locket?" Superman asked, changing the subject.
"Yes…however I would like the whole League to hear my findings," Alucard said "and…I think we should discuss this at my castle,"
Superman agreed and they waited around the tower for Batman to return. Once he did and Hawk Girl was set up in the Medical Tubes, Alucard used the return spell to take them all to Castlevania. Alucard led them to his sitting room and he put the locket on the main table for all the League to see.
"I have discovered the source of Trevor's powers. The Locket is just a locket," Alucard started he flipped it open to reveal "Trevor's powers came from this stone,"
"What is that?" Batman asked.
"I've never seen anything like it before," Superman claimed.
"I would be worried if you had, Superman. This is called a Soul Stone," Alucard said "It is a stone that when placed near a person or living creature…when they die their spirit, knowledge and any and abilities get trapped and stored in this stone," Alucard explained.
"Okay, but how does did that give Trevor his powers?" Flash asked.
"If a soul is trapped within a Soul Stone…then that souls' abilities and transfer over to the person who holds the stone," Alucard finished.
"So, Trevor killed someone and trapped them then used them as a power source for 500yrs?" Green Lantern asked skeptically.
Alucard nodded.
"They would have had to be someone powerful…and someone who couldn't die," Alucard claimed "because Trevor claimed to be immortal,"
"Huh, probably some vampire from 500yrs ago," Flash assumed "I mean there were loads of you guys running around back then right Al?"
"Trevor Likely killed one with the stone nearby," Wonder Woman finished "I wonder if he even knew what it did,"
"He knew and…I believe I am trapped in this stone…or my counterpart from Trevor's world," Alucard said gravely.
"Are you sure?" Batman asked.
"It is a logical conclusion, Trevor held a deep hatred for me…he…he said it was me and my war who got Sypha killed," Alucard explained "What if in their world my father planned to commit genocide just like he did here…and when Trevor, Sypha and Myself comforted him Sypha did not survive the battle or she died before we confronted my father,"
"And after you killed your dad…Trevor killed you and trapped your soul in the stone," Superman continued.
"And then used him as a battery to ensure he never died," Batman finished.
Alucard nodded in confirmation.
"So that's why Al wasn't in the other world," Flash mumbled "man that is dark,"
"Is there a way to check?" J'onn asked.
"There is a spell…it would allow us to comminate with whoever is in the Soul Stone for a few minutes," Alucard confirmed "I would need time to set it up though,"
"How much time?" Batman asked.
"An hour," Alucard answered.
The League agreed to hang around while Alucard left to set up. The Master Librarian appeared and kept them company and offered to let them look at some books while Alucard was busy. Fifty minutes later Alucard announced that he was ready and he led the League to an empty chamber. It was the same one as they had been in previously where Alucard had identified the curse they were under.
The room however had been altered slightly, a lot of the clutter that had been around last time had been cleared and there was a chalk web drawing in the middle of the room with three circles lining the web. A small tiny one in the center, a medium larger one near the edge of the web, and another one just a few centimeters from the inner circle.
The League walked around the web not wanting to disturb it.
"So, what's this do?" Flash asked once everyone was in the room.
"A Sprit weave. I will channel magic through the web into the soul stone in the centre…once done it will allow the spirit to travel along the webs and let us comminate with it,"
"So, it will project whoever is trapped in the stone and let us talk to it?" Wonder Woman asked.
"Yes,"
"Is this safe for us?" Batman asked, "We're not going to get possessed or something are we?"
"Worry not, it can't leave the second circle, as long as we are on our side it will not be able to harm us," Alucard assured.
"Are you going to be alright?" Wonder Woman asked "This sounds like it will use a lot of power,"
"My Magic reserves are adequate…but the Castles power will be maintaining the spell. I…merely need to provide the starting power," Alucard claimed.
He floated over to the middle of the web and placed the locket in the centre of the small circle and then floated over to stand with the Justice League.
"Oh, one more thing…under no circumstances are you to step into the web while the spell is activated," Alucard warned "Unless you want your soul sucked out of your body and ripped apart,"
The entire Justice League took a collective step backward at the same time. Alucard nodded in approval and reached down, he touched the web, poring some magic into it. The web patterns suddenly lit up in white fire and the flames followed down the pattern until it reached the centre circle.
Alucard pulled back and willed Castlevania to take over. The fires turned black and the locket began to glow. A moment later a figure flickered into existence. Alucard looked at the figure fell backward, pushing himself away from the edge of the web, and stared at the spectre who had appeared in shock.
The Justice League glanced down at their vampiric ally's behavior and focused on the figure in the web. They were expecting a ghostly version of Alucard to appear, however, the figure in front of them was not Alucard. The figure was tall and had sharp features, they could tell he was a vampire due to the pointed ears and the fangs. However, he didn't have long hair like Alucard's, instead, it was short straight neck length hair and he was wearing what looked like a regal suit under a long flowing cape.
The figure looked at the Justice League and blinked in confusion before his eyes drifted down to the web and followed it back to the League. Settling firmly on Alucard.
The moment the figure saw Alucard he gasped and took a surprised step back.
"Think they know each other?" Flash whispered to J'onn.
"No…impossible…" Alucard studded.
"Judging from their reactions I would say yes," J'onn responded.
The figure started to hesitantly walk towards the Justice League.
"Is it…can it this be true," the figure said. Voice filled with hope and surprise.
"Okay, they defiantly know each other. Hey Al, who is this?" Flash asked.
"My boy…is it…can it really, be you?" the figure continued.
"My boy?" Green Lantern asked.
"This…this cannot be…Stay back…Stay Back Father," Alucard
"Father…FATHER!" The whole Justice League shouted out. They stared at the spectre in shock as they realised the implications of what that one word meant. If the one trapped in the Soul Stone was not Alucard but his father…this meant that Justice League was face to face…
"HOLY CRAP THIS IS DRACULA!" Flash screamed, "WE SUMMONED DRACULA!"
Dracula stopped at the edge of the circle, he fell to his knees and stared at Alucard. He tried to reach for him but found that a barrier prevented him from passing the circle.
"My precious boy," Dracula said gratefully. However, as Dracula studied his son the relief faded from his face "No…you are not him…you are not my Adrian,"
Dracula let out a disappointed sigh.
"I apologise I thought…I hoped…but no…Adrian is gone and will never return," Dracula said sadly. He took a step back and looked around the room turning his back to League. "Hmm…magical laboratory in Castlevania that much is obvious. Spell weave is being powered by the castle but…how is it here? Where is here?" Dracula looked back at the League and Alucard "Hmm…no sign of The Belmont…infante corridor perhaps…" he continued to mutter and contemplate where he was.
"Hold on, what's going on here?" Green Lantern demanded, "I thought Alucard was trapped in the soul stone, where is he?"
Dracula pulled his focus away from his mutterings and turned back to face the Justice League.
"An interesting line of questioning, I can answer one of those. But first I would have your names asked "and would have you tell me your relationship to my son,"
Before anyone could answer Flash opened his mouth.
"Hi I'm the Flash, and I'm Als Super Bestie," Flash grinned.
Batman let out a sigh.
Dracula gave flash a flat look. "I am afraid that leaves me with more questions than answers," he said.
"So, I'm Superman, this is Batman, Wonder Woman, J'onn, Flash and Green Lantern," Superman introduced each member of the Justice League "We're the Justice League and friends of your sons,"
Dracula looked over them all, making mental notes and taking in their odd clothing.
"A pleasure to meet you all…I am Vlad Dracula Tepas, King of vampires, ruler of the night and Lord of Castlevania," Dracula introduced himself and gave a low bow. "And what might I ask have you done with Trevor Belmont?"
The justice League glanced at each other, they didn't know how to explain Trevor's new situation and were a little surprised that Dracula, king of the vampires was asking after Trevor like they were friends.
"He's…no longer with us," Superman answered. It wasn't a complete lie; the Trevor Belmont from the Justice Lord world had been erased.
Dracula turned around and looked at the locket in the centre of the web. "I see…that is a shame. I will grieve for his passing…he was a dear friend of mine," Dracula said solemnly.
"Say what now?" Flash asked.
"But…didn't you two fight each other?" Wonder Woman asked in confusion.
"We did, constantly. Sypha was sure one of us would kill the other before we got anything done," Dracula chuckled. He then turned back to look at the Justice League "though I am curious as to why you felt the need to use a Sprit Weave to speak to me,"
"We're just trying to clear up a…bit of a misunderstanding," Superman tired "but why are you asking about Trevor…I mean didn't Trevor team up with Alucard here to kill you,"
"Trevor Belmont indeed killed me…but he had his reasons and I had mine when I allowed him to do the deed," Dracula claimed "but no my son did not team up with him to do the deed,"
"No…No, you died…I killed you…I stabbed you in through the heart with a wooden stake…you turned to dust trying to reach me, Alucard cried out finally snapping out of his shock that his dead father was the spirit he summoned "so why…why are you…"
"Alucard," Batman said firmly and place a hand on his shoulder "Breathe,"
Batman turned his attention to Dracula "The night your wife was murdered, you didn't commit genocide your world did you," Batman stated.
Dracula shook his head.
"No, I was tempted to…but I did not. My wife…Lisa knew that humans were ruled by superstitions and fear. She hoped that they would in time learn to see past it. I admit I killed the High priest, his followers, and burnt church that the High Priest oversaw to the ground," Dracula explained "but that is all,"
"And your son, what did he do?" Batman asked. Though he had a suspected he knew the answer.
"He…" Dracula started and hesitated. Looking down at Alucard "Adrian…My son, he could not forgive those who had taken his mother away from us,"
"He raised an army of demons and unleashed it upon humanity," Batman finished "Dracula, you teamed up with Trevor and Sypha to kill Alucard and succeed, didn't you?"
Dracula nodded in shame.
"Hera," Wonder Woman gasped.
"But that's a complete role reversal of what happened here," Superman said.
"Here…am I to assume that I am in a world not of my own," Dracula assumed "how did I get here?"
The League gave a brief explanation of what they had been up to the last few days and explained how Dracula was in a different world than the one he knew. One where he had been the one to unleash armies of demons in retaliation to his wife's murder and Alucard had teamed up with Trevor and Sypha to stop him.
"I see…this does explain a why there is a look-alike of my son," Dracula said. He then bent down and looked at Alucard again.
"I am so sorry for what I…or my other self-put you through, I am sorry I could not be the father that you needed. However, I am truly happy to see you alive and if I could take the role of villain to save your kind and gentle soul I would have," Dracula said sincerely "I know this does not mean much coming from me but I am grateful there is a version of you who did not fall to the darkness,"
"Father I…" Alucard started and trailed off "Father…what happened to Sypha?"
Dracula hesitated for a second.
"Sypha…died by your hand," Dracula answered "your focus captured her in the Belmont hold and…when Trevor and myself got to the castle you dropped her mutilated corpse at our feet,"
"She was…violated and beaten to death. You…my version of you said you took great pleasure in hearing her scream and beg for mercy," Dracula finished.
Alucard could not take it anymore, He turned his head and started to throw up on the ground. After he was done, he started shaking and Flash moved over and bent down next to Alucard. "Al, you, okay?"
"No…I can't be capable of…I would never have done such a thing," Alucard claimed "Please you have to believe me…I did not do any of that…Sypha…she was a friend and…and…"
Flash pulled Alucard into a hug.
"It's alright Al, we know you didn't, but we are all evil on that other world," Flash consoled "I bet my counterpart had he survived would have been the world's biggest troll and would have been a huge jerk and rubbed it in everyone's faces,"
"But I…"
"Flash is right, you did none of this," Superman stated "I'm sickened at what my counterpart did, but that doesn't mean I did it,"
"I think we've had enough," Green Lantern responded "Flash, get Alucard out of here,"
Flash nodded and helped Alucard to his feet, he supported him and helped him leave the room. Dracula watched him go with a sad expression on his face. Once Alucard and Flash were gone Dracula faced the rest of the Justice League once more.
"He is lucky to have such good people around, humans are not normally kind to us. Thank you for taking care of him all this time,"
"That is what friends are for," Superman smiled.
"Alucard has been through much with us, if we did not support him as he has us in the past then we would not be very good heroes," J'onn said.
"Still, it is comforting to know he is not alone. Now, what do you intend to do with me?" Dracula asked "I understand you thought that Adrian would be trapped in the Soul Stone but now you know the truth. What is to be my fate?"
"That should be left up to Alucard," Batman said.
"He's not exactly in any state to be passing Judgment," Green Lantern pointed out.
"Still, this is his father so he should be the one to decide," Batman instead.
"But this Dracula hasn't done anything wrong. In his version of events, Alucard is the villain," J'onn pointed out.
"If Adrian needs time to think then could one of you end the spell so I may return to the stone," Dracula requested.
"You're going to have to tell us how," Green Lantern said "we're not exactly all that knowledge on how magic works,"
"Right Alucard is our magic expert," Superman agreed.
"It is rather simple, break the web and the spell will end," Dracula stated.
"Alucard warned us that we should not never the web while the spells active," Batman stated "I assume that means touching it as well,"
"You need not touch or enter it, simply disrupting it will be enough," Dracula assured and he looked off to the side "there," he instructed and pointed to an ink well on a wall hanging self "splash a little ink on the web and that should do it,"
Superman walked over and picked up the ink well. He opened up and walked back over to the rest of the League.
"Superman, before you do, I have a question I wis to ask of Dracula," J'onn said.
"Ask away," Dracula responded.
"Dracula, you said earlier you allowed Trevor Belmont to kill you. Why did you do that?"
Dracula smiled and looked up at the roof of the room.
"This castle holds many secrets and terrifying powers," Dracula stated "When my wife died, my son usurped my throne and used the castle to fuel his revenge. When I…I killed my son with Trevor, I took back the rulership of the castle. This castle and my family had caused so much pain and suffering to the world…I felt I could not let this place fall into the hands that would continue that suffering,"
"That's the same reason why Alucard moved his castle and went to sleep," Superman stated.
"Unfortunately, Castlevania must always have a Lord…to ensure that it does if its lord meets an untimely end and no viable candite for lordship is present…the castle will crumble and disappear," Dracula continued.
"How is that a bad thing?" Batman asked.
"Because the castle has the power to revive its lord, 100yrs after death…no matter who or what sits on Castlevainas throne, the Lord of the Castle will always be revived," Dracula explained "I was tired of all the fighting, all the suffering and now that both my wife and son are dead…I had no desire to remain in the world. I could not live through losing my beloved a second time,"
"Second time?" Batman noted.
"However, I had a theory that if something interfered with the Lord of the castle's soul…preventing it from being revived then the castle in turn would be unable to return in 100yrs. So, I allowed Trevor to kill and trap me in this Soul Stone. Ensuring Castlevania would never return. I made him promise he would take care of the world…that he would never allow events in the past to repeat themselves,"
"So, you knew that he was planning to use you as a battery forever?" Green Lantern asked.
"I did…it was my plan after all," Dracula confirmed "I told him that if he had the Soul Stone on him some of my powers would be granted to him…including my immortality,"
"What other powers did you convey?" Wonder Woman asked.
"My speed, strength and vampiric healing," Dracula answered "had he had a talent for Magic…my magical power would have transferred over too,"
"And anyone who holds the locket gains this power?" Superman asked surprised "even if you already have superior strength or speed?"
"If you already possess such power then my power is added to your own. However, my magical power will only manifest in those born with the gift," Dracula confirmed. He then looked at Superman "May I go now?"
"Uh sure, but can you tell who is holding the locket?"
Dracula shook his head "No, I feel a pull of sorts when someone is holding it but other than that I cannot…nor could I stop my power from being used," Dracula claimed.
Superman nodded and then looked at Batman. Batman gave a small nod in agreement and Superman emptied the contents of the ink well onto the black flames. They fizzled out immediately and the image of Dracula disappeared. The Loket fell to the ground with a slight kinking noise. Green Lantern walked over to it and picked it up.
"Well, that was interesting. Trevor screwed up big time," he said.
"Agreed, he promised to keep his world safe but ended up helping rule it," J'onn stated.
"I wouldn't say he broke his promise. After all, there was no crime on the Justice Lords' earth. I'm sure Trevor would argue by working with the Justice Lords he was keeping his word," Batman stated.
"But that world still suffered greatly," Wonder Woman pointed out "in the end Treavor was may not have been better than the Justice Lords version of Alucard,"
"Flash's death must have hit him hard too," Superman guessed "maybe he and Trevor had a similar relationship as our Flash and Alucard do,"
"Maybe. The Justice Leagues world might have been peaceful but I'll take our messed-up world with free will over there's any day," Green Lantern claimed.
"Regardless of the status of that world. We cannot let this locket fall into the wrong hands," J'onn stated, "can you imagine what someone like Faust or Luthor got their hands on it?"
"Forget Luthor, I can think of more than a few villains in Gotham who would do anything to get this," Batman claimed.
"Is it possible to destroy it or set Dracula's soul free?" Wonder Woman suggested "that would prevent his power from being used by anyone,"
"That is something we will need to ask Alucard, however, he may be hesitant to destroy it. It does contain a version of his father after all," Batman pointed out.
"Speaking of, we'd better go check on Flash and Alucard," Superman said and he walked out of the room.
The rest of the League followed, before leaving Green Lantern used his ring to pick up the Locket and place it on the side bench before he too left and closed the door behind him.
