Whoo, Chapter 4 is finally done! This would have been out earlier but I vowed to update both ongoing stories at the same time. This means I needed to finish the other chapter I was working on for my other story. In any case that let me remember a few things, I needed to add to this chapter.

On with the reviews!

N. A. Wennerholm chapter 3 . Feb 12

With Ember being Chosen by and with the way The Potters have been treating her and how Albus is a fool I feel she needs to call On magic to judge them and at the same time Look at Sirius and Remus as a will to evaluate them with their behavior and treatment of Ember and others. Plus I would even arrange to magic determine which of the twins should be their heir/heiress of the Potter Family. And even go so far as to judge if James should still be head of the Potter Family or even put him on probation for some time so he can learn how to be an honorable and honest Head of the family and noble and know when to follow and obey and when not to when it comes to right from wrong. Plus with her having an eidetic memory she needs to get hold of a pensive or some other method to show what happened that night as and quite frankly the Potter's showed of had some kind of monitoring system in the nursery to show what happened that night. And quite frankly I 2oukd have magic an agent of Yahweh/Yahovah and Yeshua/Jesus and magic would be what the Christians call The Holy Spirit. Have all magical s judged by the Standards of GOD, not man/humans. While being evaluated and judged their sins, crimes bad behavior are exposed to the public but it will be made clear that all of Magical Britain will be evaluated and judged and there will be educated on right from wrong and that prejudice and bigotry are wrong. And that it is GOD who decides right from wrong and good from evil. And it is GOD threw his agent who decides who gets magic and who does not and also decides if you get to keep your magic based on your actions and behavior. And at the same time makes clear the displeasure he has with thieves and liars and murderers and other criminals and those who practice sin, such as sex outside of marriage it is meant as a means of reproduction and for husband's and wife's to show their love for each other and not for dominating over another. There are rules when it comes to sex as well for the health and welfare of the couple. Such as not sure about a woman's menstrual period and not during the recovery period after giving birth. And should there have been complications from the pregnancy and birth a doctor/healer/midwife can set the rules to lengthen it because many women died because of having kids too close together? And as some have come to realize that many STDs are a curse for violating the laws of God when it comes to the laws of sex and marriage. By using aspects of nature. Obey them and you have nothing to worry about.

Me: . . . Yeah um no, I'm not going to do that. I believe in God, yes but I don't believe in most of this stuff. Also, wasn't Jesus friends with prostitutes in the bible?

Also, I don't just believe in one god, I have the belief that if one god can exist why can't they all. So technically I believe in greek, Roman, Egypt, and several other gods.

I also do not believe that STDs are a "curse for violating the Laws of God regarding sex." I'm sorry if you believe it but this is not going in my story. I thank you for your review.

Crazy Girl Writer chapter 3 . Feb 16

I think I like your story. I feel the chapters are too short but I'm an impatient reader lol. I like the twist you have with the gems not sure where it's going but I'd like to find out. So I'll be waiting for more chapters. Thanks for writing.

In chapter 2 you wrote she observed the gem into her when it should be obsorbed. Just a little mistyped word that probably autocorrected itself when you wrote it.

Me: Thank you for your kind review! I'm the same way when it comes to stories I like.

Thank you for letting me know about that typo, It might have been auto-correct or it might have been my Dislexya acting up. I went back and fixed it.

Onto the story!

Ember and Grinlast waited half an hour in silence once again, while waiting for the Goblin to bring her ledgers for all her accounts. Ember was really hoping she would have a house already waiting for her, and that she didn't need to buy one. Ember glanced over at the door when it opened and a different Goblin than last time walked in and, handed Grinlast a bunch of folders before leaving.

Grinlast laid all the folders out in a straight line before sitting back down. "You may look at your holdings now, just choose one folder, look at it and then place it back down where you picked it up from." Grinlast then went back to his paperwork.

Ember walked up to the desk and took the seat that was right next to it this time. Grabbing the first folder she opened it to take a look.

Peverell Family

Peverell Castle [Habitable]

Peverell Manor [Habitable] (Currently being used as Potter Manor)

10% in Ollivander's wand shop.

Transactions

100,000 Gallons to the Potter vault on the 1st of every month.

Contracts

None

Ember held back a growl when she read that Potter Manor was really Peverell Manor. As soon as she could she was kicking those people out of HER home. Ember might never live there, she had a lot of bad memories, but she would be damned if she just let those people live there. It was her house, not theirs.

She also vowed to stop her money from going into the Potters vault, they had no rights to her money after the way they had treated her. At least now she knew how they managed to afford all of their expensive things.

Ember put the folder back down before grabbing the next one.

Emrys/Merlin Family

Emrys/Merlin Castle [Habitable]

Emrys/Merlin Manor [Habitable]

Emrys/Merlin Family home [Habitable]

Ember frowned, she needed to make more investments if she wanted to be able to keep those numbers up. Shaking her head she put the folder down next to the Peverell one and picked up the next folder.

Ravenclaw Manor [Habitable]

Investments/Ownership

30% in Flourish & Blotts

5% in Gringotts Wizarding Bank for helping start-up the Bank

Ember smiled when seeing that she had some investments in Flourish and Blotts. That must be making good money seeing how so many people shop there often.

Turning to the last folder she picked it up and opened it.

SLYTHERIN FAMILY

Slytherin Castle [Habitable]

Slytherin Manor [uninhabitable]

Gaunt shack [uninhabitable]

25% Hogwarts Castle [School for Witchcraft and Wizardry]

Investments/Ownership

80% in Knockturn Alley [Loans need to be paid back]

Ember frowned when she noticed how little money this account had. She was also upset that loans weren't being paid back. "Grinlast what is the banks oppinion on unpaid loans?"

Grinlast looked up curious and confused, "They are unacceptable of course. Why do you ask?"

Adriane just handed over the folder in her hands as an answer, she watched as Grinlast read the parchment.

Ember smirked when seeing him start getting upset on her behalf. Grinlast looked up at her after a few more moments, "For a small fee, Gringotts would be able to help you recover the loans owed to you."

Leaning forward curiously, "How much would this fee be?"

Grinlast gave a sharp grin, "Nearly 50 gallons."

Ember shook her head, "20 gallons." Grinlast's grin got wider, humans hardly ever negotiated with the Goblins, it was so easy to overcharge them this way.

"That's too low, 45 gallons." Ember scoffed, "It's a very decent price, 25 gallons and 3% of all money you manage to get me from the loans, I want them paying back all their loans plus interest." Ember smirked when seeing the pleased look at Grinlast's face, "Deal."

Ember held out her hand and ignored the surprised look on Grinlast's face as he took her hand and shook it to seal their deal. "I would also like for you to become my account manager for all my accounts, I hear it's a very good position for a Goblin in the bank to be account manager of just one vault, you will be in charge of all of mine. I will send you a letter later with more instructions on what I wish to be done with my accounts, at this moment all I want is a portkey to Slytherin manor so I can get some rest."

Grinlast stared at the human/Gem in front of him in shock, he was so shocked that he almost missed that bit about a portkey, luckily he didn't. "Your rings have a built-in portkey to take you to whichever home or property you wish." Ember smiled widely at that knowledge and took the ring portkey to Slytherin Manor.

Grinlast shakily took out a bottle of extra-strong fire whiskey and poured himself a big glass. He had a feeling that the wizarding world was going to be shaken by this child.

At Slytherin Manor

Ember appeared in the entrance room of Slytherin Manor and glanced around. This place needed a makeover for sure. The furniture looked like it hadn't been changed out for over a thousand years. It made sense when she thought of it, Ember doubted that anyone since Slytherin himself or his children had lived there. She made a mental note to go shopping as soon as she could, maybe tomorrow.

After a few more seconds of looking around, a house-elf popped in front of her. "What is Missy doing here, this bes the Slytherin Manor!" Ember held up her hand and willed her rings to show the Slytherin one, smirking when the elf gasped, "Yous be Lady Slytherin? Joy! Lady Slytherin has returned."

Ember held back a chuckle as she nodded. "Yes I'm Lady Slytherin, My name is Ember. What may your name be?" The elf teared up. "Mistress wants to know Bippy's name? I bes Bippy the house elf!"

Ember yawned in her hand, "Oh nos, Little Mistress is tired, Bippy's be showing you where you can be sleeping." Ember nodded and followed Bippy, she made a mental note to make sure any house-elves she owned wore a proper uniform instead of those stupid tea towels. Ember also wanted them to read and learn, she wanted them to be well educated.

Ember snapped out of her thoughts when she and Bippy walked into the master bedroom and she looked around in awe. It was beautiful and so big, sure some things needed to be changed and replaced to her style but, she liked the room. Ember yawned and took her backpack off, grabbing some Pjs from the bag she changed into them before climbing into the bed and went right to sleep.

Despite having been passed out for several hours that wasn't proper sleep.

The Next day

When Ember woke up she was confused about where she was, that was until the memories of yesterday came flooding back making her sit up with a wide smile. She was free! Free of her arrogant brother and awful parents. Free from the neglectful godfathers and godmothers. Free from most of the Weasley family. Free from the youngest male Weasley who seemed to believe that she would be happy to marry him while he bullied her endlessly.

Ember had no idea why he wanted to marry her when it was clear he hated her. She thought it was just because he wanted a part of the Potter money but he should have known that her parents would never give her a knut if they could get away with it.

In any case, if Ronald had wanted to marry her one day he should have been nice and kind, not abusive. To be fair, he probably just wanted to be known as the Boy-Who-Lived brother-in-law. Rolling her eyes, she jumped up and grabbed her backpack to start getting ready for the day.

First, she grabbed a hairbrush and gently brushed her hair until all the knots in it were out. Then she went to brush her teeth and stared at her bathroom with wide eyes, yeah she defiantly needed to get work done on this house. Seems like there was no indoor plumbing yet. Shaking her head she had Bippy bring her a bowl and cup of water so she could brush her teeth.

As soon as she was done with that she walked back to her room and put on some clothes she could go shopping with. Putting her hair in a ponytail she looked in an old mirror that was in her room.

She wore a light green shirt and black shorts with some black flats. Ember thought she looked decent, definitely not what people would think a noble lady would be like. Ember planned to fix that today. She knew that the Potters would still be at home and wouldn't go to Daigon alley for a few more days since they had just gone yesterday morning. The Potters normally went to the Alley at least once every three or four days so they could bask in their fame.

It made Ember sick to see how they let fame go to their heads. Shaking her head she called Bippy and had her pop Ember to Gringotts so she could get some money out. Finding out that she could use a card as people did in the muggle world was a nice find. Paying the fee for the card she walked out of the bank and started shopping.

First, she walked to Twilfitt and Tattings and got fitted for an entire new wardrobe in all different colors that suited her. She got greens, blacks, whites, blues, all different colors. Mostly Slytherin colors because it would go with her new coloring.

She didn't know why but she asked the tailor if they could make it so the gem in her chest was able to be seen and shown off by most of her clothes. The tailor tried to talk her out of it but Ember was insistent, claiming that she wanted people to know who she was on sight instead of when she introduced herself. Then she said that it was her clothes and her choice so unless he wanted to lose all the gallons he would be getting from making her clothes then she would leave. Ember knew that she sounded a bit full of herself but she had been arguing with the tailor for 30 minutes and she was getting annoyed. She had so many different things she needed to do today and this guy was keeping her from doing it because he was refusing to accept her order.

Finally, he gave in and said he would have everything done later today and, that she could pick everything up in seven hours which was just okay with her. She turned and left the store with a sigh, finally, she was out of there and could get what things she needed from other shops.

Ember walked down the road to the trunk store, glancing at the sign above the door before walking in to make sure she had the right place. She placed an order for a nine compartment trunk that had a full bedroom and bathroom, library with desks to study at, training room, kitchen, potions room while leaving the other three rooms blank so she could choose what to do with them later. She could practically see the money signs in the guy's eyes as he asked her if she wanted anything else.

Nodding she told him she wanted her trunk to be warded so only she could open it unless she gave someone permission to do so. She also wanted it to be unbreakable so no one could just smash it to get to her things. She would also like it to be in the colors green, silver, and black. Ember figured that she would use the Slytherin colors as her own. They looked good on her and, she enjoyed the colors.

After being told her trunk would be done around the same time her clothes would be she walked off to the parchment store to pick up plenty of things she would need. Ember knew she could have sent Bibby to pick up the parchment but, she wanted to get out of the Manor and, just walk around the Alley for the first time ever. The Potters had never taken her with them when they went to the Alley.

Shaking her head to get rid of those thoughts she walked into the shop and started to browse. Ember picked up several bottles of ink in different colors. She even picked up one bottle of ink that changed colors as you wrote. She would use that one just for herself. She also picked up plenty of stacks of parchment because she knew that she would most likely be in conversation with Grinlast frequently.

Just as she was about to walk to the counter she saw something that made her excited. There were pens, pencils, paper, and sketch paper in a small corner in the back. There were even crayons and colored pencils. Ember had no idea that this shop sold those items, she walked over and picked up several notebooks and noticed a sign that said that these notebooks had a charm on it that would make it so you would never run out of pages. It also had an index charm on it along with a spell that let you change which page your notes would be on.

It was there so you could rearrange your notes so they were all in the right order. Like, say you wrote about one charm and filled up that page and the next page you wrote on a different charm, but later on, you found out more information on that other charm you could switch out that second page with one of the blank ones and use it to write down what you just learned.

You could also switch already written pages around if you wanted to. Ember bought several of the books. She got two books for potions, one for already created potions and another for her to write down her ideas for her own potions. She got two books for Charms and transfiguration for the same reason as potions. She got one for astronomy and figured that would be all she would need for that subject since, as far as Ember knew, you couldn't make your own stars or rearrange them.

Ember got two books for creatures, one for magical creatures and one for nonmagical. She picked up three books for herbology, one for magical plants, one for non-magical plants, and another for any hybrid plants she found. She got two books for defense, one for defensive spells and another for attacking spells.

Two books for history, one for magical and one for nonmagical. If someone didn't learn from the past they wound up making the same mistakes people did back then. Ember vowed to learn from the past and avoid those mistakes.

She got a book for Divination, she didn't believe in it exactly, but she knew that this was one of the things you were allowed to learn in Hogwarts so she wanted to learn about it. Ember doubted that she was a seer but it could be fun to learn about past seers.

She also picked up one for muggle studies, it would be good to put down notes on muggle things in it. She could put down how something worked in the book and have it at the tip of her fingers later if she ever needed it.

Two books for ancient runes went into her bag. Three more books went in the bag. One for normal Arithmancy, another for Advanced Arithmancy, and one more for her to try and make new things with.

Two books for alchemy went into the bag, she also put five extras in just for her to mess with.

After Ember grabbed the thirty books she moved onto the pens, she grabbed the entire stock of pens and pencils. Pencil sharpeners, erasers, art books, colored pencils, watercolors, paint brushes, crayons, it all went in the bag. Ember had always secretly loved art and drawing. She didn't get to do it often since the potters would notice if parchment went missing too much. Ember had learned that the hard way.

After she paid for all of her things she left, leaving behind a very happy store clerk. She spent quite a lot of money in that store but she didn't feel any regret.

Checking the time Ember realized that she still had plenty of time until she needed to pick up her things so she went to go browse the bookstore until then. Ember managed to find several new books that she hadn't heard of. She avoided the Gildory Lockheart books since they were a pile of crap. Ember was sheepish when she left the bookstore.

She had bought a copy of every single book in the store, except for the Gildory Lockheart books and the Damien Potter books. Ember was disgusted when she saw the books about her brother about his "Future" adventures. She couldn't believe that anyone would think that those books would ever be true.

Shaking her head she left to pick up her clothes and trunks before heading back to the bank, she needed to talk to Grinlast about investments and to see if they could upgrade Slytherin Manor for her. She would not be staying there if it didn't get indoor plumbing, she would find some other place.

When she walked in she held back a groan when seeing the Potters, luckily they were busy so she quickly walked to a teller that didn't have a line and asked to be taken to her account manager quietly.

Ember managed to sneak away with the Goblin that came to lead her to Grinlast's new office without the Potters or anyone else noticing her.

Grinlast's office

Ember sat down across from Grinlast and got right to business.

"I need to hire the Goblins to update all of my homes, the Slytherin Manor has no indoor plumbing and I doubt the other houses have any either. I would also like to stop the money from the Peverall account going to the Potter account. It is not their money, It is mine, and I refuse to spend it on those spoiled brats who think that just because their famous they're allowed to do whatever they like."

Grinlast nodded, writing down what Ember had asked for. "Is there anything else?"

"Yes, I would like to get controlling shares in the Daily Prophet, everyone seems to believe anything that is in that paper even if it's clearly lies. I want to buy it and make sure they only tell the truth. As it is right now, someone could go to the paper and bribe them to write what they want. If we cannot buy out the Prophet then I would like to create a new newspaper."

"I believe I had convince several people to sell their shares, it will be exspensive however." Ember held up a hand, "I do not care about the cost, if we manage this then we can possibly make that money back easily."

"Now, I have a couple more things I need to ask of you. Do you or the Goblin nation have anything that can hide me from the Potters? I'm talking about something that will make them and anyone who knows of me not realize that I am Ember Potter."

Grinlast looked thoughtful. "Lady Ember, if you were to come back tomorrow then I will have what you are looking for." Ember nodded as she stood up. "Thank you, that is all for now."

Ember then left the Bank and went back to Slytherin manor, she went back to her room and grabbed the book on Gems that she still hadn't managed to read yet.

Sitting down in a comfortable armchair she started to read.

Ember was halfway through the book when she sat straight up and took a closer look at the page she was reading.

How to create a Gem.

While Gems are energy-based beings, they can be created. This is a little-known way to create Gems that have been lost to time. Other than this book, knowledge of this technique has been lost.

First, you need to gather the things you need to create the gem. You will need a mold to form the shape of whichever gem type you wish to create.

Under that were directions on how to create the liquid that Ember needed to pour in the mold. She was excited but decided to finish reading the book first to make sure she had everything needed for a pure gem. Ember would make her first Gem tomorrow, she sent Bippy to grab several molds of different gems so she had them when she needed them.
