Chapter five is done! This took a bit longer than the last few chapters because things have been really busy. My birthday is coming up! It's on the 6th and I've decently excited.
I hope you enjoy this chapter.
ThunderClaw03 chapter 4 . Feb 19
Great job keep it up. Your muse must be working overtime right now because you're really getting these stories going. Update when you can
Me: Yeah my muse has been very active, I actually have an idea for a third story but that might not happen. If you want to know more go check out the most recent chapter (Chapter 27) of Harry Potter and the Secret Inheritance. I'm going to be mentioning the idea there because it pertains to that story.
Onto the story!
Ember woke up and jumped out of bed right away, Rushing to get ready. She sent Bippy to pick up everything she would need to make her new Gem and climbed into her trunk. Ember decided to turn one of her empty rooms in the trunk, into a bedroom for her gem.
Ember didn't know if the Gem would need to sleep or eat but she wanted to be prepared. The things in the new room were temporary, she would let the Gem decorate it however they wanted later after they got settled in and got used to being alive.
After she was done with the gems room, Ember quickly walked to her potions room. She smiled slightly when seeing that Bippy had placed all of the items needed for the special liquid on a counter. Bippy had also put all of the molds she got last night on another one.
That was good, now she just needed to figure out which mold she would use.
Tapping her chin in thought Ember finally decided on the Mold in the shape of a Pearl. So she grabbed the mold and put it on the counter close to her cauldron. She made sure it was in easy reach before she started to carefully make the liquid that was needed.
She needed to restart a couple of times when she made a mistake, this was her first time brewing any sort of potion after all. Let alone a potion that could make life the way this one did.
Several hours later she finally finished the potion and carefully poured it into the mold before backing away. The book had said that it would take some time before the Gem was ready so Ember set a timer to alert her when an hour was done. Then she sat down on a small chair she had put in the corner and started reading the book on Gems again.
She hadn't finished it last night, she had been so excited when seeing that she could create a life that she got a little ahead of herself. While she had the time she was going to read this book and find out more about gems. Something she should have done before starting to create one.
Ember managed to get through a couple more chapters before the hour was up and had found a page on what a Pearl Gem was supposed to do. The Pearl was a servant or maid for the Diamonds back when they were all alive. They apparently weren't supposed to do anything that their Diamonds didn't like, Ember didn't like that part.
Ember decided that she would let her, Pearl do what she liked and be whoever she wanted to be, sure Ember might ask for Pearls help with things but she would treat her like a friend or at least a secretary.
Noticing the time she put her book down and walked over to check on the mold. Ember noticed that it looked solid so she carefully removed it from the mold and set it down on a cushion. Now Ember just needed to wait for the body to form.
She didn't know how long that would take, the book said that the time can vary from Gem to Gem. Ember simply watched the Pearl, it was a shade of green that she hadn't known Pearls could turn, She had Blippy bring her a book about natural pearls to read while she waited.
While reading she found out that while white, cream and gray pearls were the most common, they could also come in several other colors. They came in so many colors they came in the colors of purple, black, pink, green, champagne, chocolate, blue and lavender. So many colors, Ember had thought that colored pearls were artificially made by muggles but it turns out that they could be made naturally in the wild.
Ember looked up with wide eyes when the Pearl started to glow, soon enough a body made of white light emerged from the Pearl until it solidified itself and landed gracefully on the floor.
Ember stayed quiet as she took in her creation in awe. The Pearl had light, sea green colored skin, their hair was held in a ponytail with a few strands to frame her heart-shaped face. She was wearing a dark green dress that looked like it would be perfect for more formal occasions in the muggle world.
The green pearl was centered in the middle of her upper chest, just like Embers Diamond was. She wore some simple black flats on her feet.
Ember watched as the Pearl looked around before spotting her and doing a weird triangle thing with her hands, "My Diamond thank you for giving me life."
Ember blinked before smiling, "My name is Ember, and it was nothing! You're so pretty, I love your dress!" Normally Ember was a bit more composed than this but could anyone blame her for being so excited? She had managed to create a living breathing creature without needing to give birth.
Ember was amused to see the Pearl blush a darker green at the compliments, "Thank you, My Diamond, I am Pearl." Ember pouted, "You can call me Ember you know? I don't mind, I prefer it actually!"
Ember noticed that Pearl looked confused so she simply grabbed her hand and started walking, She gave Pearl a tour of the trunk before showing Pearl, her new room.
"I wasn't sure what you would like, since obviously you weren't born until just now, So I left it kind of blank. You can decorate it however you want this is your space to do with what you want." Ember smiled when seeing Pearl look around in shock.
"I did add a bookshelf with several books on how things work, laws, hystory, just things for you to read and know about if you wanted to. I also added some fantasy books for you to read if you want."
Just then Bippy popped in, "Mistress, yous got a letter and package from the goblins." Pearl had got in front of Ember protectively. "Who and what are you?!"
Ember grabbed Pearl's hand, "Pearl it's okay, this is Bippy, she's a house-elf bound to one of my families. I put a book about them on the bookshelf, you can read that while I read my letter."
Pearl looked hesitant to let Ember take anything from Bippy but nodded and walked over to the bookshelf, looking for the book on house-elves.
Ember smiled at Bippy before taking the Letter and Package. Opening the letter she started to read.
Dear Queen/Princess Ember.
We here at Gringotts have stopped the money from your Peverell vault from going to the Potter vault. I expect James Potter to make a scene when he finds out that Lady Peverell has decided to stop paying for their lavish lifestyles.
We shall insinuate that Lady Peverell is around his age or older, this way, they do not get the idea that their daughter is lady Peverell.
We have managed to arrange meetings with several shareholders of the Dailey Prophet.
We are ready to start working on upgrading your homes, if you wish we will have a look at your wards and upgrade them as well for a small fee.
In the package we have sent is a simple choker necklace that will hide the fact that you are the daughter of James and Lily Potter from the minds of everyone, even if they see you out on the street they will not recognize you at all.
Only those who you allow knowing will be able to recognize you as the Potters daughter.
May the gold of your enemies fill your vaults.
Grinlast, account manager for Queen/Princess Ember.
Ember blinked before smiling widely, she opened the package and grabbed the necklace, and looked it over. It looked like a simple choker with a small green gem in the middle. Ember could feel the magic in the Gem as she put it on.
Smiling she turned to look at Pearl who was reading the book on house-elves intently. Ember felt pride well up in her chest at the sight of Pearl, she had made that. Ember had created life with nothing more than a mold and a special potion.
Ember turned and silently left the room as she walked to the library room, when she got there she called Bippy and asked her to go pick Pearl up some of those special notebooks she got from the alley yesterday, she also asked Bippy to pick her up another book so she could use it to keep track of her finances.
Bippy Popped away as Ember walked up to the bookshelves and grabbed one of the books from it. It was on potions, something she now had a very high interest in. Sitting down on one of the small couches in the room she started to read.
She used a pen and her potions notebook to write down anything that interested her.
With Pearl
Pearl looked up when the door closed, she had to fight her instinct to follow her Diamond and be there if she desired anything from Pearl. Pearl knew what she was supposed to do, she had been created with the knowledge that all Pearls had whenever they were born.
Not that this helped Pearl with her confusion over this strange world or her Diamond.
According to her knowledge, Diamonds were supposed to be treated with respect, awe, and praise. You never wanted to make a Diamond mad at you, or else you would be shattered. You had to be perfect at what you were made to do or you would be shattered for being dysfunctional.
That didn't seem to be the case with her Diamond. Her Diamond was very small, kind, happy, and very generous. So unlike the Diamonds, her knowledge told her about. Her Diamond looked different from what she was told to expect as well.
Her Diamond had given Pearl her very own room and told her she was free to decorate it however she wanted. Her Diamond told her to call her Ember for some reason, she had said that was her name but wasn't her name supposed to be Green Diamond?
Now that she thought about it her Diamond did look different from what Pearl somehow knew Diamonds were supposed to look like. Diamonds were supposed to be big and powerful. Her Diamond was so small and looked much too skinny for Pearl's liking.
Not to mention, it seemed like her Diamond was part organic, which might explain why she wasn't like a normal Diamond. Pearl didn't know how her Diamond was part organic but she wouldn't ask for the risk of upsetting her Diamond.
Then there was that thing, her Diamond called it a house-elf. According to the book Pearl was reading, it seemed like these things were servents. They cooked, cleaned, and did anything their Masters asked of them. In return, they got the magic they needed to survive.
A house-elf needed to be bound to a person, family, or a highly magical place to survive. Pearl wondered what she would be to her Diamond since this Bippy creature took away most of her purpose.
It had now been a week since Ember created Pearl and they both settled into life quite nicely.
Pearl had spent most of her time she wasn't by Ember's side reading the books that were on her bookshelf. Pearl wanted to learn all she could about this strange world she was brought into. She wanted to learn everything so she could better help her Diamond.
While reading one of the books she came across the word secretary. She wasn't sure what it was exactly so she looked it up and was pleasantly surprised. To Pearl, it was the answer to all her worries. She could act as her Diamonds secretary!
Pearl knew that her Diamond was thinking of creating her own business to try and bring the magical world to the 20th century. Her Diamond had mentioned the idea in passing, if she did make it then Pearl could help her with the paperwork, alert her Diamond to things that needed her attention, and basically take care of things so her Diamond could work on experimentations with Non-Magical objects.
Since Pearl wanted to fill the role of Secretary, then she needed to know all the laws and rules of this world. She asked Bippy if she could get Pearl a couple of books on the laws in the magical and non-magical worlds. Bippy brought her exactly what she wanted and when Pearl expressed confusion on why the book only had laws for Britain, Bippy explained that each country and sometimes each state had its own set of laws.
Pearl was confused about that but just opened the books to read. All throughout her studying, she made notes in the special notebooks her Diamond had bought for her. Pearl made sure to take good care of them, she never wanted to lose anything that her Diamond gave her.
Ember was pleased with how her week was going, She had managed to get Pearl settled into her new life pretty easily. She knew that Pearl had been looking up laws and secretary, it wasn't hard to figure out that Pearl was going to try and be Ember's Secretary. Ember didn't mind, she figured that Pearl wanted to try and fulfill her purpose in the best way she could.
Technically, to Ember, it seemed that Pearls were just overworked and underpaid secretaries.
Ember had introduced Pearl to Grinlast when the Goblins came to upgrade her Manor. Grinlast was very impressed when seeing what she had managed to create. She told Grinlast to make a small vault for Pearl, kind of like a trust vault.
Pearl had tried to say she didn't need the money but Ember explained that she didn't need to use the money if she didn't want to, it would be there when Pearl needed it just in case though. After that Pearl agreed to accept the vault to Ember's relief.
Ember wanted to show Pearl that her needs would always be important to Ember, she just wasn't sure how to do that without coming right out and saying it.
Ember was very happy when the Manor was completely updated, including the Goblins adding some crystal lights they apparently used in their own homes. Ember had asked and got permission to examine them to try and create her own version, of course, if she sold them she would be giving the goblins a percentage of each sale. Not to mention they would be the ones to install the lights if someone wanted them.
That meant they would get even more money, and to the Goblins, that was very good.
Witches and Wizards were more likely to buy something invented by another witch or wizard than they were to buy something invented by Goblins or non-magicals. Ember knew this, so it wasn't a surprise to her that the lights the Goblins invented didn't catch on in the Magical world.
Ember talked to Grinlast and together, with some input from Pearl, they had come up with a good business idea. Ember would examine muggle objects and instead of trying to make them work around them magic, she would try one of three things.
She would try to make the objects work with magic, make the muggle devices run off of magic, or she would try to replicate the objects using magic and runes to get the same results as the non-magical object.
Ember had already started looking over the Crystals that the Goblins gave her to study. It would probably take a while to get enough objects done to open the store so she didn't worry about the building she would be buying in the future.
When she did buy one though, she would make sure to have these lights installed.
