I own Nothing
Just a small filler chapter to bridge the next arc and the last chapter.

Batman stood at the edge of Gotham City's clock tower, looking down over the city. It was one of the few places in Gotham that were above the light pollution and haze of the city. He liked to come here to think about things and the view also served as a reminder of what and why he was fighting for. Tonight was different. He wasn't here for the view, but to think on an important issue.
Alucard.
Alucard had moved his castle a few days ago to take Kilowog, J'onn, Flash, and Hawkgirl across the universe to assist Green Lantern who'd gone off-world suddenly. Unfortunately moving the castle caused an underground earthquake and Atlantis suffered heavy damage. To make matters worse, when the castle returned a second quake occurred and caused a tsunami to hit the east coast. Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman were the only ones available at the time so the rescue effort was slow. They had of course told the others when J'onn used his communicator to contact them to let the others know they were back. Unfortunately, because the castle needed time it was almost an hour before the rest of the League showed up to help with the rescue. Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman had done their best, but with no warning of the quake and tsunami the casualties were high, it would have been worse if Aquaman hadn't assisted and helped save those who were drowning and washed out to sea.
Naturally, Alucard was confronted about this but the half-vampire claimed he didn't know that moving Castleviana would cause such disasters as it had never happened in the past. He theorized that perhaps the sudden rush of water to fill the pocket left by the castle might have had some detrimental effect, but the castle was so deep down under the ocean and far away from any civilization, aside from Atlantis, moving the castle shouldn't have caused any disasters. Dracula also backed this up stating the worst that happened was a few downed trees and scaring some wildlife.
Yet the castle had caused two natural disasters in the span of a few hours. Alucard and Dracula assured the league that they would look into it and Alucard promised not to move his castle again until it could be done safely. Despite this explanation and promise, Aquaman still wanted Alucard punished in some way.
The problem was how did you punish a vampire? Batman had pondered this for the last day or so. He still had those silver binding bracelets that Alucard had given him when he was attacked by Lenore and her sisters. But he didn't want to use them as it might bring up memories of what Trevor did to him in the Justice Lords' universe and Batman didn't want to torture Alucard emotionally and mentally with it.
He'd thought about just locking Alucard up for a few days, but that would do no good since he could just go back to Castlevania anytime with a few words. Then there was barring him from the tower, except nothing was stopping Alucard from spending that time with others he'd befriended on earth, like the Belmonts or Michael.
Alucard wasn't like the criminals Batman normally dealt with. He had no true way of confining him since he would just go back to his castle. Additionally, telling him to stay in his castle for a set time was out since it was his home and Alucard would no doubt fill his time very easily and it would not serve as a punishment at all. Hell, he'd probably enjoy the time to himself…Batman didn't doubt that Dracula would be happy to spend some time with his alternate son and since the two got on relatively well, Alucard probably wouldn't mind either.
So that was out. With nowhere else to turn Batman had gone to visit Richter and Julius to get their advice, after all the Belmonts were a family of vampire hunters so who better to find out how to punish one than them? However they'd refused to help him and while they weren't rude, they were quite cold to him and refused to tell him anything about confining vampires. Batman suspected this attitude had something to do with how he and the League had treated Alucard during the Lydmil incident; the Belmonts' loyalty and desire to protect him even from the Justice League was admirable.
Batman also paid a visit to Jason Blood and asked Etrigan for his input. The demon however had just told him to stake him and be done with it.
Out of desperation and as an absolute last resort Batman had gone to see Constantine. While unpleasant. the man was an expert in the supernatural. But Constantine had just laughed thinking it was a joke and when he'd realized Batman was serious Constantine didn't have any way to help him and told Batman to let him know when he found a way or figured it out.
So here he was, standing on the Gotham Clock tower, trying to figure out a way to appropriately give out some kind of punishment to an immortal being that was nearly impossible to punish and that didn't involve extreme and painful ways that would cause Alucard irreparable harm. As he was thinking about this problem, Batman winced as a sharp headache came on, it was nowhere near as bad as the headaches he'd gotten when he'd met Lenore, but it was still sudden and a little painful.
"Oh, I didn't think anyone would be up here," a male voice suddenly said.
Batman wheeled around, drawing a Batarang and getting on guard. He turned to see a young man. The man wasn't more than twenty-six years old, he had brown hair and was wearing a casual white button-up shirt with a pale green jacket with a fur-lined hood, blue jeans, and everyday black shoes. The way his clothes fit told Batman he had a decent physique and likely worked out. Batman glared at him as he looked directly into the man's brown eyes… no, not brown eyes, coloured contacts.
"Sorry, didn't mean to startle you," he said with his hands raised in surrender. The man had a thermos in one hand but nothing in the other.
Batman didn't know how this man had snuck up on him. Yes, he'd been deep in thought, but that didn't mean he was unaware of his surroundings. Quite the opposite, in fact, yet he'd not heard the door to the roof open nor any footsteps. If this man had flown…which wasn't out of the realm of possibility, then Batman would have felt a change in the wind…but he hadn't.
"Who are you?" Batman demanded, "What are you doing up here?"
"Andrew Bennett," the man introduced "and I'm here to remind myself why to keep on living."
Batman lowered his Batarang. Out of everything this man could be up on the clocktower for, he hadn't expected that. The man…Andrew lowered his hands and slowly walked towards the edge, keeping an eye on Batman. Once he was at the edge he sat down on it and put his thermos next to him. Batman's headache got worse as Andrew approached and he narrowed his eyes. Seeing Andrew up close he noted the man's skin was much paler than it should be and his slightly pointed ears.
"You're a vampire," Batman stated.
Andrew stiffened and looked up at Batman in surprise. "Oh, you can tell? Impressive,"
"What are you doing in Gotham?" Batman growled.
"Just passing through, I came to help a friend and thought I'd take a night to myself before heading home," Andrew shrugged and turned his attention to look over the city. "I'm not here to eat anyone," he added.
"The last vampires that were in Gotham kidnapped an upstanding and influential member of the city to turn him into a vampire," Batman stated "So you will have to excuse me when I say I don't believe you,"
Andrew leaned forwards slightly resting his chin on his clasped hands, he didn't respond but Batman could tell this vampire was becoming aggressive.
"There were others?" Andrew asked in a calm and deadly tone "Who?"
"Four women," Batman clarified "Three of them are dead now,"
"And the last?"
"Got away, wasn't in town when the others were killed,"
"I see…the one who got away, was her name Mary Blood?" Andrew asked seriously.
"No," Batman answered.
"Ah, good," Andrew said and his posture relaxed.
"Good?"
"Yes. If this other female vampire returns, give me a call and I will deal with her," Andrew said. He reached out to his thermos and opened it up. Batman eyed the thermos as Andrew poured a dark liquid from it, by the smell alone he could tell it was coffee and not blood. Steam radiated out of the cup.
"Why are you up here?" Batman asked.
"I told you, I'm here to remind myself of a reason to keep living," Andrew answered, and took a sip of his drink.
"Aren't vampires immortal?"
"That is the problem," Andrew sighed "I've been around so long that I am honestly sick of life,"
"So, you came to Gotham to remind yourself of a reason to keep living?" Batman asked, confused.
"Yep,"
"Not the location I would have picked,"
"That is exactly why I picked it. Gotham is full of insane villains like the Joker and Penguin, mob bosses and the criminal underground is so secure that everyone knows they're here and not to mention the corrupt police force, politicians, and your everyday joe is more than willing to commit crimes for the pettiest of reasons," Andrew claimed. Batman wanted to argue but he couldn't, everything Andrew had said was true "And yet people still live here, they settle in, make a family despite the fact this is the worst city in the world. And then there is you, you fight for Gotham even though any sane person would have packed up and left,"
"So, you came up here to get a view of a dirty and doomed city?" Batman asked, "And that gives you the will to live?"
"Yes, if mortals live their lives in a city like this, then an immortal like me should have no problem living elsewhere. Quite frankly I find cities like Gotham inspiring and beautiful," Andrew claimed.
Batman looked out over the city. He'd never heard Gotham described like that before. It was odd but he understood where Andrew was coming from, he didn't expect a vampire to appreciate the city when the last ones saw it as a means to an end. They both looked over the city in silence for several minutes, enjoying the beauty of Gotham that only they could see.
"If you're tired of living…have you tried staking yourself?" Batman asked. He wouldn't normally suggest such a thing, but this was a vampire, a full-blooded one like Lenore or Striga. Not one like Alucard with compassion, empathy, and human emotions.
"Tried multiple times," Andrew chuckled. "I have been staked through the heart, had my head cut off, been burned alive, starved, took a bath in holy water, and even threw myself in the ocean once. I even ended the universe a few dozen times. And each time I didn't die and if I did I just came back,"
"What?" Batman demanded.
"Don't worry, I only end the universe on really bad days now," Andrew claimed and took another sip of his drink "When I need a pick me up,"
"You… ended the universe… as a pick-me-up?" Batman repeated.
Andrew nodded. "Don't worry, it didn't stick,"
"How?"
"I was given a flute that when played signifies the end of everything, but since I'm a vampire it never sticks. Sure is pretty to watch though,"
"Where did you get such a flute?" Batman demanded.
"India, but it was Nabu who led me to find it and he let me keep it in the end," Andrew answers.
"Nabu…do you mean Doctor Fate?" Batman asked.
"Oh, you know him?" Andrew responded.
Batman stared at Andrew, wondering why Doctor Fate would give him, a vampire, a flute able to unravel the universe and let him keep it. He made a note to contact him and ask.
"Batman, can I ask why you are not fawning all over me?" Andrew asked in a serious tone.
"I'm in regular contact with another vampire, your presence doesn't bother me like it would others," Batman answered. He had to assume that Andrew was talking about the vampiric charm. After dealing with Lenore, he made sure to spend any free time he had with Alucard, as he wanted his immunity to finish developing as quickly as possible. However, his dull headache proved he wasn't quite there yet, but at least he no longer collapsed in pain in the presence of vampires.
"Oh, you're immune. How long have you been in contact with this other vampire?"
"On and off for almost four months now," Batman answered.
"Four months and you're already immune…impressive," Andrew whistled "Must be a very powerful vampire,"
"What do you mean?"
"The more powerful the vampire, the faster the immunity develops," Andrew confirmed "It took almost a year and a half for my friends to develop that immunity,"
Batman pondered this. It made sense in a way. Alucard was the son of the king of the vampires, even if he was part human his vampiric powers were extremely powerful, even though he wasn't at full strength. He wondered if Andrew was a friend of Alucard's. After all, Andrew didn't seem hostile towards humans, but there was no guarantee this wasn't a one-off occasion. Batman supposed there was one way to find out.
"Have you met Dracula?" he asked. Batman wouldn't mention Alucard by name, just in case Andrew was previously loyal to Dracula and wanted revenge for his death.
"Dracula? Oh, you're one of those," Andrew sighed and his shoulders sagged as if he was fed up "Okay, look, there is no Dracula, he's a myth made up by a wannabe horror writer that was picked up and made popular in the last century,"
"Really?"
"Yes, really. Do you know how many times I get asked or compared to Dracula? A lot, and it is very annoying and I find it offensive that I am compared to a fictional character," Andrew huffed in annoyance. "Just because vampires are real doesn't mean Dracula is or that we all know him,"
Batman raised an eyebrow at this, he could tell Andrew was not lying.
"When did you become a vampire?" he asked.
"Sometime back in 1591, I forgot the exact date. Think it might have been in May sometime," Andrew claimed.
Batman nodded, it was no wonder that Andrew thought Dracula didn't exist, that was over a hundred years after Alucard had defeated him and taken the castle to the bottom of the ocean. Andrew likely didn't even know that Castlevania existed, let alone the reputation of the Belmonts or what happened in the missing year of history. Now that he thought about it, Alucard did say that any creature of the night who had been loyal to Dracula was banished to Hell, which means the vampire who bit Andrew and turned him must not have been loyal to Dracula or, more likely, been created after Dracula's demise.
If that were the case then…would Andrew share knowledge with him on how to punish vampires?
"May I ask you something about vampires?" Batman asked. Andrew nodded "How do you punish or confine them?"
"Punish or confine?"
Batman nodded. Andrew thought about the question for a moment.
"Hmm…well there are different methods. If you want to punish them, splash them with holy water, bury them alive, or simply carve them up with silver works. You could also overload one or more of their senses, a high-pitched noise or a strong sharp scent would cause them quite a bit of pain," Andrew stated "As for confining…you could lock them in their coffin, wrap it in silver chains or put them in a room with garlic hanging over the doors and windows outside the room. Then again lighting a ring of holy oil works too…until the flames go out,"
"What if I don't want to physically hurt them and they have means of escaping such confinement?"
"That is trickier, I suppose you could humiliate them by tricking them or outsmarting them. Vampires hate to be outsmarted by humans," Andrew suggested "Though once they are released and realize they've been tricked, vampires tend to hunt down the one who tricked them, so I would not recommend that course of action,"
Batman let out a sigh. Even if the vampire had a few ideas, Batman had no intention of causing harm to Alucard. Humiliating him might be a good idea but he had no way to trick him into doing anything since Alucard was very compliant with the League's requests. Suddenly, Batman realized something…Alucard was compliant with the Justice Leagues' requests, he could use that.
"So if a vampire was tricked into doing something they didn't want to…that could work?" Batman asked.
"It would, they'd be pissed off afterwards though," Andrew warned "Like I said, not a good way to go about it,"
"Interesting, I think I have what I need now," Batman smiled a plan already forming in his mind on how to appropriately deal with Alucard "Thanks for the information,"
"You're welcome," Andrew responded. Though he wasn't sure what Batman would do with it. After all, there were very few vampires left.
"By the way, if I find any bodies that lack blood I will find you and deal with you… personally," Batman threatened before stepping off the clock tower and gliding away into the night.
He contacted Superman and explained his idea to him. Superman was a bit confused but agreed to go along with it. The next day, Batman went down to the castle to talk to Alucard. They moved to the sitting room, where the spirit of Dracula joined them.
"I've had some time to think about an appropriate punishment for the damage you caused to Atlantis," Batman stated once they settled.
"As I said, I was unaware that the disasters would happen…the Librarian and my father have also checked…the castle should not have caused those disasters," Alucard stated "Had I known, I would not have used the castle to assist Green Lantern,"
"The League understands that you didn't know, but we told Aquaman you would be dealt with and I've decided just how to do that," Batman stated "You'll be doing a day of community service,"
"Community service?" Alucard asked.
"You spend time helping the community. Since you have powers it makes sense," Batman explained "Tomorrow, you'll meet Superman in Metropolis and help take care of his city for the day,"
"A day?" Alucard asked.
"Yes, you'll meet Superman at the top of the Daily Planet at 8 AM and patrol the city for him until 7 PM. Then I'll meet you and J'onn in Gotham," Batman said.
"I am confused… How is this a punishment?" Dracula asked.
"Yes, and what does J'onn have to do with this?" Alucard asked.
"Nothing, I just need to talk to you and him about your upcoming enrollment to Princeton Academy," Batman stated.
"Ah, very well," Alucard said "Though I agree with my father, this hardly seems like a punishment,"
"As for how this is a punishment, you'll figure it out tomorrow," Batman grinned.
The next day Alucard arrived at the top of the Daily Planet where Superman was waiting for him.
"Morning, Alucard," Superman greeted with a smile.
"Good Morning," Alucard replied "Am I late?"
"Nah, we're a bit early. So did Batman explain what you're doing today?"
"Not in so many words… He said that I was to patrol your city," Alucard answered "Though I am not sure what that entails,"
"It's pretty easy. Just fly around or sit on a tall building and keep your ears open for disturbances. Also if someone asks you for help, you go see what they need," Superman claimed "Do that for me until 3 PM and you're done,"
"3 PM? I thought I was here till after dark?" Alucard asked.
"Right, there's a meeting I'm supposed to attend this afternoon, and since you're taking over for me today you'll have to attend that as well. Don't worry it's nothing too difficult. I'll take over from dealing with any crime while you're at the meeting,"
"I see…"
"Great, if you get into any serious trouble just shout out, 'Superman! save me!" Superman teased "I'll hear it and come running,"
Alucard gave Superman a deadpan look.
"Hey, Batman's words, not mine," Superman claimed. "Alright, good luck, and thanks for giving me the day off," Superman grinned and flew off. Alucard watched him go and let out a sigh. He still didn't see how this was supposed to be a punishment.
He looked over the city. He'd fought literal monsters, saved another civilization from power-hungry cult leaders, and travelled to another reality. Alucard looked up at the sky, he didn't see any invading forces and then turned back to the city below.
"Well…how hard can looking after one city be?" Alucard asked himself before he stepped off the building and flew off.
Alucard decided to get a layout of the city, so he flew around it and did his best to memorize where important places were, like banks, museums, art galleries, city hall, as well as the police and fire departments. Having found the various locations, he made a few more rounds of the city, just in case, before heading back to the Daily Planet and sitting on the globe. So far everything was quiet, it was still early in the morning and people were heading out to work. According to his research into the other League members' cities, Gotham was the worst, and Metropolis' crime rate was fairly low due to Superman's presence. There were always the odd criminals that tried to get away with robbing a bank or jewellery store, but most crimes were committed by supervillains like Lex Luthor and the standard white and blue-collar crime rates were fairly low.
Alucard wondered if that was the reason Batman had picked this as his punishment, having him do nothing but the odd flyby or loop around the city. Sure he might be a bit bored but he could put up with that. After all, he had done nothing but sleep for over five hundred years.
His ears picked up the sound of sirens and he stood and looked in the direction it was coming from. He launched himself off the globe and flew in the direction of the sirens. He caught up to the sirens and saw a line of police cars heading down a nearby street. Alucard looked around and didn't see anything that would indicate a chase, so he followed them and found a robbery in progress.
A jewellery store was being robbed and the thief was holding a hostage at gunpoint. Alucard hovered above the police cars and the policemen listing to the demands. The thief wanted a million dollars and safe passage out of the country and then he would free his hostage and if his demands weren't met he would kill the hostage. Alucard glowed red and teleported, in an instant he was behind the thief, and with one swift blow to the back of the neck they crumpled to the ground, they'd never even seen him.
Alucard looked at the hostage and it was a woman in a dark sales outfit. The shirt had the store's logo on it, indicating that she worked there. She was frightened, and Alucard looked down at her.
"Are you hurt?" he asked. He could tell by her heart rate that she was scared and her scent was filled with fear, but he didn't detect any major injuries.
The woman stared up at him and shook her head.
"Good," Alucard said he bent down and picked the thief up by the back of their clothes and dragged them out. The moment the door opened the police readied their weapons, fortunately, they didn't shoot and Alucard held up the thief who dangled limply in the air as if he weighed nothing.
"I believe you will need this," he said and dropped the thief as the sales girl ran out from behind him. Alucard ignored the shouts and orders for him to step back and put his sword on the ground, though it was securely sheathed on his waist, instead he kept an eye on the sales clerk. Once she was with an officer, Alucard turned and slowly hovered into the air and then took off into the sky.
Alucard was feeling pretty good about the day. So far, he'd stopped one early robbery and not long afterward he heard another call for help. But when he arrived it was just some traffic workers who wanted Superman to direct traffic while they went for a coffee. They got him to do it when Alucard told them he was filling in for Superman for the day. They handed him a stop sign and walked off. Alucard held the stop sign until they got back. No traffic moved for twenty minutes.
After this, he answered a call to help some elderly cross the street and carry someone's groceries home. Additionally, he was called to get cats out of trees, retrieve lost baseballs and frisbees from roofs, and mediate an argument that some children were having…which resulted in them running away crying and Alucard trying to explain to their mothers why he had accidentally made them cry and finally getting lost while trying to fly a school bus back to their school district.
Alucard now understood why Batman had picked this as his punishment. He did not like being in the spotlight and having Alucard answer all these smaller calls for help was putting him at the centre of attention. He'd been asked a lot of questions regarding his past by people he helped and Alucard was not comfortable with it. He answered what he could but when pressed for more details he could not answer without exposing the lie the Justice League had crafted for him.
Alucard was getting frustrated and exhausted at dealing with all the small, and in his mind, pointless requests. He was ready for a break, so around noon Alucard headed over to Metropolis university and paid Michael a visit. Michael was of course happy to see Alucard and let him into his dorm room, noticing how defeated the vampire looked. As soon as he was inside Alucard sat on the edge of the bed and fell back on the bed.
Alucard told Michael about his punishment, how he had unintentionally caused an earthquake and a tsunami by moving his castle to another planet and back, and as a result, he had to fill in for Superman for a day. However, it was not going well. Michael was surprised that Alucard's castle caused the tsunami a few days ago but was more focused on the fact it could travel to other plants in an instant.
"Wow, sounds like you're having a rough day," Michael commented as he listened to Alucard's recount of his day so far.
"That doesn't even begin to describe it," Alucard said, sounding exhausted.
"Aw. come on man, it can't be that bad,"
"Do you know how many cats I've had to pull out of trees?"
"No, how many?"
"37. I've retrieved 18 balls and frisbees, had to carry shopping bags for 12 elderly humans, and had to spend an hour flying young children around the city,"
"Wait? What was that last one?"
"Apparently, when a school bus breaks down Superman carries it and the students back to their school district… However, I kept dropping it off at the wrong school,"
"How? They're all labelled by district, PS 769, PS 770…"
"How am I to know what that means?"
"Did you ask?"
"Yes, the driver gave me an address but there are multiple streets named after someone called Lincoln and it took almost an hour to get them back to their school…while I am sure the children enjoyed themselves, those waiting for them were less than impressed,"
"Yeah, I'll bet," Michael said, doing his best to hold in his laugh. "Well, at least that was the worst of it,"
"No…it wasn't," Alucard moaned.
"What happened?"
"Some children called Superman to settle a dispute, they were confused at my presence but I told them I was filling in for Superman and they asked me which was the better Poke-ee-mon…A blue bipedal dog or a purple and red shark dragon thing,"
"Ah, well Lucario is obviously the better-looking one, he's pretty badass," Michael said "but if you're looking for raw power, speed, and better move pool Garchomp is the way to go,"
Alucard gave him an odd look.
"It's their names…never mind. Which did you pick?" Michael asked.
"Neither, I did not know what a Poke-ee-mon was so I asked and was told they were monsters that could be caught and trained to fight others for money," Alucard said, "The children said they were used for battles…naturally, human children should not be fighting monsters so I asked them to point them out so I may hunt them down and kill them before they did irreparable harm,"
"Wait, did you tell the kids you were going to kill their Pokemon?" Michael asked.
Alucard nodded.
"Well, at least you didn't draw your sword and claim to be a monster slayer or something so no real harm done,"
Alucard looked away and covered his face with his hands but didn't answer.
"Please tell me you didn't actually draw your sword…on the kids and say you would hunt down and kill their Pokemon did you?" Michael asked.
Alucard glanced at Michael through his and then his eyes focused on the sky. He didn't respond.
"Oh…wow…um…you know Pokemon is just a game…right?" Michael asked "They aren't real monsters,"
"I do now," he responded "What's worse is I have three more hours of this and then I have to attend a meeting that I know nothing about for Superman before meeting Batman,"
"Well, it could be worse," Michael tired.
"I'd rather fight my father's armies again," Alucard commented and he turned his head to look at Michael "Do you think if there was an invading force attacking the city I would be able to call it a day?"
"I doubt it, Batman would probably make you do the whole day again,"
"Pity," Alucard responded and stared up at the ceiling. He had to wonder how the other members of the Justice League handled this, fighting to protect the world from bigger threats he understood. But the small menial tasks "does Superman really do so much every day?"
"I mean, I don't know. You work with him, has he ever mentioned it?" Michael answered.
"No…he has not," Alucard stated and he sat up "If he does…I may have to reevaluate my respect for the Justice League,"
"What do you mean?"
"Superman, Batman, and Flash all have alternate identities. If that is the case then they must manage to protect the city, their duties with the Justice League, and all these small tasks," Alucard stated "I have to wonder…how do they do it and not go mad?"
"Don't know, but I guess it shows the rest of us that they can be trusted and are as human as the rest of us,"
Alucard looked over at Michael. "I do not follow,"
"Well, Superman is an alien from another planet right? Batman is a walking nightmare and Flash is…" Michael trailed off.
"Flash," Alucard supplied.
"Exactly. The point is doing all this extra stuff makes them seem more human," Michael said "Maybe to Superman and the others it's not just all about catching bad guys and saving the world. I think it's also about connecting with the people they are protecting, it lets people know they can trust their heroes,"
Alucard stared at Michael and contemplated his words "I…had not thought of it like that,"
"Well, when you think about it this way maybe that's why Batman chose this as your punishment. He's trying to teach you a different kind of lesson,"
"I should get back to it," Alucard said "Thank you, Michael, it is always enjoyable to talk to you,"
Alucard headed back out and after another three hours of assisting the citizens of Metropolis he met up with Superman on top of the Daily Planet.
"Hey, how'd it go?" Superman greeted.
"It was…not as bad as I thought," Alucard responded.
"Huh, when Batman told me what he wanted I thought you would have hated it," Superman said "Since everybody would be seeing you in action,"
"I did…but then I realized just how much you do without complaint," Alucard stated "Do you really answer every call for help? Handling all these menial tasks like getting cats out of trees and helping elderly people carry their groceries?"
"Well, yeah. Someone has to. It's part of why Batman calls me a Boy Scout," Superman claimed "Helping someone in trouble or who needs it is just common sense,"
"Hmm…"
They had a quick catch up and Superman took Alucard to the meeting. They landed on a balcony and Superman gently knocked on the glass door. Footsteps could be heard from inside and when the door opened Lois Lane stood there and had a big smile on her face.
"Oh good, you're here," Lois greeted with a smile "Now then let's start the interview,"
"Interview?" Alucard asked.
"Yep! An exclusive one-hour interview with yours truly. And you'd better be ready because boy do I have some questions for you!" Lois smirked "And after that, a personal meet and greet with the members of the Daily Planet,"
Alucard shot Superman a very angry and annoyed glare. The day had just gone from bad to worse.
"It was Batman's idea not mine! Bye!" Superman said quickly and he flew off leaving Alucard alone to fend for himself against Lois Lane.
"Come on, we need to get started. There's no rescue mission for you to hide behind this time," Lois said and walked into her apartment. Alucard let out a sigh, resigning himself to his fate.
