This chapter was really fun to write. The first part is mostly filler. There's a big surprise in the second part of the story though. I hope you all like it.

I think the first thing I thought when I read the what did you think of the chapter was "short but sweet". You do seem to write shorter chapters which the reader in me dislikes but I'm impatient soooo you can probably ignore that comment lol. I like the small bits of history of the gems you're putting in. Sometimes I feel it needs more explanation because I feel confused. I can't remember if the gems are your creation or draw from a source. I like that you've added a new character and what you've been doing with the previous chapters.
One thing to consider in your writing is to go back and read it once through outlook before posting. I was very confused for a bit on if jasper is a girl or boy because you've referred to them as he and she. Maybe he was a typo because after the first few paragraphs jasper was referred to as her or she? I kinda liked the idea jasper was a boy though.
If you could give me a reference on the gems or maybe a short outline if possible that'd be great but if that fits into your story later and would be a spoiler that understandable.

The gems are actually from the show Steven Universe, that show doesn't really affect this story much. There was no gem war, the gems just went extinct long ago until Ember became Green Diamond.
Onto the story!
Ember spent the next few months helping Jasper adjust to how things were done, she made sure she still spent time with Pearl and on her studies. Before Ember knew it was her birthday, she had forgotten about it again so, when she walked into the kitchen to grab something to eat she was surprised when Jasper and Pearl yelled, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY GREEN DIAMOND!"
Ember stared before tearing up which freaked out the two gems, they started trying to apologize for upsetting her when Ember hugged them both tight, sniffling softly.
"No one has ever wished me happy birthday before." Jasper and Pearl shared a look before they both hugged Ember.
It was at times like this that Pearl remembered that her Diamond was still a child in earth terms, and if Pearl was being honest with herself, her Diamond was a child mentally still as well. Sure, she might be more mature and able to act like an adult when needed but she was still mentally a child, even if she hated acting childish.
Ember tried so hard to act like an adult all the time and Pearl could tell it wasn't good for her so she did things to help Ember relax and act like the child she was once and awhile.
Pearl made sure to make the entire day special for Ember so she could relax, for breakfast they had Ember's favorite breakfast and after that, they played some party games. Pearl wasn't sure if these games would appeal to her Diamond but since Ember was laughing and having the time of her life playing them, Pearl thought she did something right.
After they finished playing games they had lunch and sang happy birthday to Ember before cutting the cake. Ember was beaming the entire time and that meant the world to Pearl and Jasper.
After the three had finished their pieces of cake Jasper and Pearl led Ember over to her gifts. Ember stared with wide eyes, she thought she would get gifts! She knew her brother did but the only gift she could ever remember being given was the book on Gems, she treasured that thing. It had been what allowed her to get her family after all.
They handed over the gift that Grinlast had sent first, Grinlast had been told by the higher-ups that he was to do everything he could to make sure the Princess was happy with the bank. Even if he hadn't been told that he would have sent a small gift though.
The gift was earings that would warn Ember whenever someone tried to cast compulsions on her and help protect her from them. Ember decided that she needed to get her ears pierced right away, the earings were made of white gold and had a small green emerald on each one. They were perfect for her.
There was also a necklace in there that had a small white flower charm hanging from it. There was also a note in the box so she opened it and started to read.
Dear Princess Ember
Please accept these earrings and necklace on behalf of the goblin nation. The earings are charmed to alert you whenever someone tries to use any compulsion spells on you, including the imperious spell. The earrings will also help protect you from most of them, this is due to the small diamonds in each earring.
The gems are actually charged with magic, the magic is not unlimited of course so after each day you will want to recharge the earrings with magic again. This way they can continue to keep you safe.
The necklace on the other hand is to allow you to go into the muggle world, or even the magical one, without anyone noticing that you are anything but human. This means that no one would notice the green diamond in your chest. It will also function the same exact way as the one we gave you when we first started doing business together. Please accept this updated version.
We have given Miss Pearl and Miss Jasper their own means of doing this as well. Miss Pearl we gave her a necklace like yours, Miss Jasper was given a simple plain gold ring since she had asked for something simple.

Ember smiled happily, this meant she wouldn't need to keep asking Bippy to put a glamour on her, the necklace the Goblins had given her before worked wonderfully for the purpose she asked for it. But, back then she had forgotten that she would need to hide the gem from most people unless she wanted them to find out that it was actually fused into her chest.
Bippy had gotten her some new sketchbooks since she had noticed that Ember had almost filled her non-magical ones up.
Jasper had got her some stuffed animals, she also gave Ember three stuffed people that looked like Ember, Jasper, and Pearl. Ember gave Jasper a hug before asking Bippy to take the stuffed animals and people to her room.
After that it was Pearl's gift, Pearl handed her four boxes. Ember was surprised at how many gifts Pearl got her until Pearl explained that they were all one gift, she just thought it would be more fun for Ember to open more gift boxes.
The first one Ember opened had some headware in it, there was a sunhat and a headband. Ember put the headband on and then opened the second box, it had a pair of black shorts.
The third box had a pair of white sneakers and some black flats. When Ember opened the fourth box she was expecting a shirt, not the dress it turned out to be. It was a beautiful sundress, it was white with pale green and light blue flowers all around the bottom of the skirt. It had short sleeves that had lace on them, and the bottom of the skirt had lace on it as well.
"I thought you could wear these when we went out tonight." Ember looked up at Pearl surprised, "What?" Jasper chuckled, "What, did you think we would just stay inside all day? Nah, we're going to that place humans call an amusment park."
Pearl giggled and smiled at Ember fondly, "We mentioned this idea to Grinlast so we would have plenty of Muggle money. We also asked if he could help hide out unhuman features and he gave me a necklace and jasper a ring."
Ember beamed widely before rushing off to go get changed. She kept the headband on and put the shorts and then the dress on. She ran back to the kitchen table before putting on her socks and then her new black flats.
After that Bippy popped the two and a half gems to the amusement park. Jasper convinced Pearl and Ember to try some cotton candy and Pearl had to admit it tasted good. She made sure none of them ate too much though, it might taste good but it was mostly sugar and it wasn't very filling or healthy.
Ember ate a couple hotdogs and got ketchup on her face and tried to wiggle away when Pearl started to clean it off. After eating they went on several rides, Jasper managed to get sick after a ride on a rollercoaster but after she was done throwing up she begged to go again.
The three of them played several games and Jasper won Ember a stuffed bunny that she hugged tight to her chest. Pearl made sure to take as many pictures as she could and to get any pictures that were taken of them while on any rides.
It was late by the time they got home and Jasper was carrying Ember since she started dozing off a couple of minutes before they decided to leave. Jasper carried Ember to her room and laid her down in bed, tucking her in. She took a step back to look at Ember's peaceful face and chuckled, Ember had refused to let go of the stuffed Rabit that Jasper had won her.
All three of them had managed to win several things for each other but no matter what Ember refused to let go of that one stuffed animal, it made Jasper feel warm inside her chest. She carefully left the room and went back to her own.
Two days later
It had been two days since Ember's birthday when Pearl walked into the small living room that was in the trunk. She stopped in surprise when she noticed that there were happy birthday banners all over the room. Pearl looked around and spotted Jasper was the one hanging them up.
"Jasper what are you doing? Our Diamond's birthday was two days ago and we already celebrated?"
Ember walked in with a big smile, "This isn't for me Pearl, this is for you! Happy birthday!" She walked up and gave a shocked Pearl a hug. Jasper stopped hanging up the decorations and walked over to Pearl and Ember, she patted Pearl on the back.
"Our Diamond is very kind, she remembered exactly when she created you and realized that you should have a party as well."
Pearl was shocked, she hadn't even thought of the day she was created so she never thought she would have a birthday party. She was a year old now. Pearl smiled down at her small diamond fondly, 'How time flies.' Pearl thought.
She hadn't thought about it until now but her Diamond looks like she had grown a couple of inches in the year that Pearl has known her. Ember grabbed Pearl's hand and gently led her to the kitchen for breakfast, Pearl might not eat often since she didn't need to but she did have a weakness for Strawberry pancakes.
After breakfast Ember dragged Pearl to the small living room and played a couple of board games with her and Jasper. Jasper was surprisingly good at shoots and ladders while Ember was good at Clue and Pearl was really good at the board game sorry.
After a simple lunch Pearl was dragged off to the living room again to open gifts.
Bippy got Pearl a brand new sewing machine that had been modified to help Pearl get things done much faster than before.
Jasper got Pearl a couple of jewelry-making kits, Jasper reasoned that she might like making jewelry along with clothes.
Ember gave Pearl a drawing tablet that she had recently designed to help Pearl sketch to her heart's content. Ember also got her a phone and a laptop to do whatever she wanted with.
The drawing tablet was a pale white with a picture of a green pearl on the back right in the middle of it. Pearl was very happy with all of her gifts, especially since she had a feeling that Jasper and Bippy hadn't realized her birthday was so soon after their diamonds.
After gifts, Ember took both gems into the muggle world to a mall to look around and go shopping. After shopping it was late but Ember was a little hungry so they decided to stop at a restaurant to get some dinner before they went back home and Ember went to bed.
Ember was cuddling with her white stuffed bunny again as she dozed off to bed.
Next week
Ember frowned at the letter in her hands and read it again.
Dear Princess Ember
I apologize for the news I'm about to deliver to you but the Potters seemed to remember that they have a daughter. Apparently, they realized this several months ago but decided to search for you themselves before contacting the DMLE.
The Potters are in a bit of trouble for not alerting the DMLE the moment they realized their daughter was missing but the head of the DMLE has decided to focus on finding you.
The Potters had also come to the bank to give me a letter to send on to Lady Peverell, I checked it for any magic on it and found none, not even a tracking charm so I believe it is safe.
I believe it might be asking Lady Peverell to help them find their daughter.

Ember turned to the other letter that Bibby had brought with her and picked it up with a deep frown. This was not what she was expecting the Potters to do, she had a feeling that they were doing this for sympathy, trying to appeal to 'Lady Peverell' for help finding their daughter. They might even be stupid enough to ask to be brought back into the family or for money.
Shaking her head she opened the letter, the sooner she read it the sooner she could burn it. Okay, so she wouldn't burn it but she wanted to.
Dear Lady Peverell
I am sure by now you have heard about our missing Daughter Ember, the last we saw of her she was running into the woods on Potter Manor. We ask that you allow us to stay at the manor again until we manage to find our daughter.
We do not know why she did not appear with us when we were kicked out but we are worried she might be in there, hurt and scared.
As soon as our daughter is found and taken care of we will leave the manor once again unless we can work out a deal allowing us back into our home.
Lord James Potter
Head of the house Potter.
Ember huffed and shook her head, it was just like she thought. Although he did not ask for money or to be brought back into the family, he did ask to move back into the manor. James had even called it Potter Manor instead of Peverell. That was rude, it showed that James considered the house of Potter had the right to rename and steal the home of the House of Peverell.
She would not allow this to go on so she grabbed some parchment and started to write two letters, one for Grinlast and one for James.
Dear Grinlast
You were correct in your assumptions that the letter James sent you was asking for my help finding their daughter, only it was not in the way you thought.
He started off by saying that his daughter was last seen running into the woods surrounding Potter Manor. He did not call it by its proper name, he still refers to the place as Potter Manor which is not acceptable. He then asked if I would let them live in the Manor again until they found their daughter and "took care" of her.
Please deliver the letter attached to them. It is me telling them that they will not be allowed in Peverell Manor unless invited in by me. It also informs them that I will allow the DMLE to look around and search the woods so they did not have to.

After putting the letter in an envelope she turned back to the Parchment and started the second letter.
Dear Lord Potter
I'm afraid that I cannot allow you access to Peverell mano again. Unless I invite you to visit you are not allowed on the property but do not worry. I will allow the Auror's access to my land so they can search for your daughter though I doubt she is on the property.
I will write to the DMLE to let them know that tomorrow they are welcome to come to search the property along with the woods surrounding Peverell Manor.
Lady Peverell

Ember smirked as she sealed up the second envelope and sent them off before writing to the DMLE telling them that she would send someone to wait for them at the gates of Peverell Manor to let them in.
Ember had to go see how the work was going on her second shop tomorrow, if all went well then it would be open by the end of the week. She would be sending Pearl to meet with the DMLE and tell them the rules they would need to follow while on Ember's land.
With the Potters an hour later.
James ran into the small kitchen his wife and son were in. The headmaster had been kind enough to let James and his family stay in one of his homes until they managed to get back to Potter Manor or bought their own place.
"Lily, she responded! Lets see what she has to say."
Lily set down her baking spoon and turned to look at James while Damian perked up. "Are we going to be able to go home?"
James smiled at his son, "Hopefully, I used your useless sister as an excuse on why we wanted to go back to the manor." Neither he nor Damian saw Lily frown sadly at the thought of her daughter.
Lily had been so happy when she had her children, she had always wanted both a girl and a boy. Lily loved both of her children but she cared for Ember just a bit more, maybe because she knew that she wouldn't always be able to show how much she loved her daughter.
Lily had always known that Damian wasn't the one to defeat Voldemort, she acted like she did because it would protect Ember from Dumbledore. Lily hated that she had to pretend to dislike her little girl but what else could she do? If she showed Ember any care when Damian or James were around they would yell at Ember for using magic on Lily to make her like Ember more.
Even the House-elves reported whenever she was kind to Ember, whenever Lily slipped up and treated Ember kindly then James would be there not long after to scream and sometimes beat her baby. So, despite how much it hurt her to do so she pretended she disliked Ember, she refused to be the reason why her daughter was hurt.
She did everything she could for Ember despite not being able to show her how much she loved her. Lily managed to distract James and Damian several times whenever she spotted Ember sneaking into the kitchen to steal some food.
Oh, how her heart hurt at the thought that her baby girl needed to steal food in her own home.
Lily also managed to convince James to allow Ember her own clothes instead of Damian's hand-me-downs, she had managed to do this without Ember getting hurt which was a relief. Lily had told James that if someone saw Ember in Damian's old clothes they might think that the Potters couldn't afford decent clothes for both children.
James had responded that they could just keep her locked in her room but Lily reminded him that everyone knew that they had two children and if they didn't see Ember for a long time they might think the Potters were keeping her locked up and then wonder if they should take both children from the two of them.
That made James realize that he couldn't just hide Ember away all the time so he allowed Lily to buy Ember some clothes of her own, they weren't as expensive as Damian's, nor were they that good quality, but they were Ember's and that was all Lily cared about. That her little girl had her own clothes.
Lily also knew that Ember liked to sneak out to the woods often to get away, Lily distracted James whenever Ember snuck away.
Lily had been worried sick when she hadn't seen Ember after her birthday, that was until she heard of Lady Peverell, she knew right away, in her heart, that her baby was going to be just fine. If she could trick James and Dumbledore into thinking that Lady Peverell was in her early 20s instead of being eight years old, nine as of last week, then she would be safe.
Lily made sure to secretly help everyone believe that Lady Peverell was an adult.
"That bitch!" Lily looked up at James startled, she had got lost in thought and totally forgot where she was and what was going on. "What did she say?"
Instead of responding James just handed the letter to her while he paced around the small kitchen ranting.
Lily looked at the letter and had to hold back a smile, looks like her daughter knew James too well. "Well, we knew it was a long shot." Lily made sure to sound tired as she gently set the letter down, secretly making a copy and putting it in her pocket.
"Who does that bitch think she is!" "DAMIAN GODRIC POTTER!" Lily glared at him, "You do not say that word."
"Lily come on-" "No James! I will not allow my nine-year-old son to swear! " Lily glared at both of them enough to make them both sulk slightly.
She was thankful that Ember was safely away from here.
With Amelia Bones (Head of the DMLE)
Amelia was sitting at her desk when one of the newer recruits knocked on her door and walked in after Amelia said they could come in.
"Sorry to bother you Madam Bones but you have a letter here from Lady Peverell." Amelia took the letter and dismissed the trainee before opening it and reading.
Dear Madam Amelia Bones
I apologize for not calling you Lady Bones but this letter has more to do with DMLE business than House Business so I believe you will understand. You have always seemed like a no-nonsense type of woman whenever I saw you.
This letter is to inform you that I will allow you and four other Aurors access to the former Potter Manor, now named back to the original name, Peverell Manor.
I got a letter from Lord Potter asking if his family could stay in my manor until they found and took care of his daughter, I said no but reassured him that I would allow Aurors on my land to search for her.
If you can come to the gates of the Manor tomorrow then someone will let you in. Sadly, I have business I need to attend to tomorrow but I will send one of my most trusted friends to great you. Her name is Pearl and she will explain the rules to your Aurors, do not worry I will write them down so you know ahead of time.
Rule one is that you are not allowed to take anything from my lands, even if it's as simple as a rock you can not take it. If it contains evidence then you can speak with Pearl and she will tell you if you can or can not take it.
Rule two is that if Pearl tells you to do something then please listen to her, there are things in the manor, mostly books but other things as well, that are enchanted to give someone not of Peverell's blood or magic a small zap whenever they touch or try to move them.
The zap will increase in power if someone tries to touch/move the object again.
This rule is for your own safety I hope you understand.

Amelia finished reading the letter and hummed, she was glad that this Lady Peverell was cooperating with the law enforcement. Amelia couldn't even get upset at the rules she was insisting on, it was her right to make sure that no one took any of her belongings. The second rule was there to protect her Aurors so Amelia was bound to agree with it.
She got up and left to go gather up four of her trusted officers, she needed to let them know what they would be doing tomorrow after all.
