Whoo next chapter is finally here! Ember finally getting time to just be a kid even if it's a bored kid.

Onto the reviews!

xxPercyRoxxx chapter 18 . Jan 11

While I wish Hermione was nicer, I read the warning and agreed to read it so it is a great start her years at Hogwarts. I wonder which gem will be next.

Me: Yeah I might have went a bit overboard with Hermione, to be fair I've read fanfictions where she's much worse than what I made her act like so those might have influenced me a bit. I don't know which Gem should be next to be honest.

!

Okay so that was the only review that wasn't someone telling me to update over and over again or someone saying good chapter, thanks for those reviews though!

After the meeting with the headmaster, she spent some time talking to Jasper on the way back to Professor Flitwick's rooms so she could use the floo to go back home. Jasper assured her that everything was going okay and that she would let Pearl and Bibby know what happened.

"Ember I have to go now, but be careful, I don't trust the Headmaster or your former parents not to do something, okay?" Jasper spoke, kneeling to be eye level with her diamond.

"I'll be careful." Ember paused, she was debating if she should mention her suspicions of Lily but decided not to. She could just be reading more into the sad look her biological mother gave her.

She hugged Jasper and then watched as she used the fireplace to go home, Professor Flitwick escorted her back to the dorms since it was past curfew and he didn't want her to get in trouble.

The next morning started the same as the day before, , she got up earlier than her roommates and got ready for the day before going down to the common room with a new book to read. She waited until Daphne and Tracey came down and then they spent some time reading together before going down for breakfast.

After breakfast, the three went to their first class of that day, double transfiguration with the Griffindors. Ember wasn't looking forward to this class, she knew that she would be seeing her twin in this class. Ember walked into the room and noticed the cat sitting on top of the professor's desk. Looking at it she soon remembered overhearing James tell Damien about how his favorite Professor could transform herself into a cat.

She gave the cat a nod before sitting down in between Tracey and Daphne at the desk in the front of the room. She took out her book for this class and started to read with her two new friends following her the time class started everyone but her twin and his stupid friend were sitting down. A few minutes after the class was supposed to start the two of them ran in.

"Wow, Good thing we got here before Old Mcgonagall huh, Damien?" Weasley said patting Damien on the back who laughed and nodded in agreement.

They both froze when the cat on the desk jumped off and turned into Professor McGonagall. She gave the two boys a stern look, "You are late."

"We got lost." Damien spoke up, looking disgruntled that he was being told off.

"Maybe I should transfigure one of you into a pocket watch and the other into a map then so you have no further excuses, go take your seats." Damien grumbled but went and sat down with Ron at the only free desk left.

The Professor then turned to the class and started teaching them about the joys and dangers of transfiguration. She turned her desk into a pig and then back again before explaining that they would be able to do that in later Professor then passed out matchsticks and told them she wanted them to try turning them into a needle with the incantation on the board.

The first thing Ember did was pick up the matchstick and examine it. It was thin and long like a needle. She examined its weight of it before setting it back down.

She glanced around the room, everyone was trying to turn it into a needle, a few Ravenclaws remembered what she said yesterday about needing to push their magic into their wands when first performing magic and were having a bit more luck with it than the Gryffindor.

Ember looked down at the matchstick in thought before she smirked. She imagined the matchstick turning into a needle, then she imagined how the needle would look. She thought of the needle being silver with a small hole to string thread through. She thought of it as being sturdy and sharp before she waved her wand, pushing a bit of magic into it as she kept the image of the needle at the front of her mind.

She watched as the matchstick slowly turned into the needle she had been picturing. First, the tip sharpened, the end rounded and a hole formed in the middle before it turned into silver.

She looked up when she heard the Professor step up to her table, and started to examine the needle she had transfigured.

"Would you mind showing me how you did this, Miss Ravenclaw?" Professor McGonagall spoke as she put another match on the desk before stepping back.

"Of course Professor," She stared at the new matchstick before waving her wand and did the incantation again. This time she imagined a red needle with gold speckled in.

The match once again slowly turned into the needle that Ember was picturing, much to the Professors' shock. "How on earth did you manage to do this so quickly Miss Ravenclaw?"

"I realized that unlike Charms, Transfigurations need you to picture what you want to happen clearly. First I looked at the match and realized it was around the same size as a needle, I figure that's so it's easier for first years to transfigure?" She asked.

The Professor nodded so she continued. "After that, I decided to see how much it weighed, then I put it down and stared at it before picturing the needle I wanted it to turn into. I pictured a silver needle, made of metal, with a sharp point at the tip and a rounded head at the bottom with a hole in the middle of the head for the thread to go through."

"Then I said the incantation with the image still in my mind while pushing a small bit of magic into my wand."

"Why, I've never had someone get the idea of the lesson in the first class. Take twenty points to Ravenclaw for being the first to complete the transfiguration and take another five for giving me a wonderful explanation proving you understood what the lesson was meant to teach you."

Professor McGonagall then picked up the red needle and waved her wand over it, "Would you mind if I kept this?"

"No Ma'am, I made it with you in mind anyways." Ember ducked her head shyly when the Professor looked at her surprised before giving her a rare smile. She then walked off to help the other students that were having trouble.

Ember looked up and shared a smile with her friends when she noticed that three Gryffindors were glaring at her.

Weasley, Granger, and her brother.

She didn't know what she did to make them glare at her like that, all she did was finish first. She shook her head to clear it, there was no point wondering why people didn't like her.

She then spent the rest of the class helping her friends and the rest of the Ravenclaws along with one Gryffindor, Neville Longbottom. She remembered Neville from when they were younger, he would be the only one to play with her until Damien got upset that someone liked her more than him and made James ban Ember from hanging out with him.

Just another thing to hate the Potters for, taking away her first friend.

After class, they had a break for fifteen minutes, the three first years used this time to rush up to the history of magic classroom excited to learn more about magical history.

The girls were disappointed when they realized that the teacher was a ghost, normally that would be exciting. A lot of the ghosts in the castle had been around for decades but this ghost had the most boring voice and managed to put everyone but Ember and Granger to sleep in the first ten minutes.

Ember looked around with a frown before putting a silencing spell over the desk she shared with Daphne and Tracey before she woke them up. The three spent the rest of the lesson reading from the books instead of listening to the teacher.

After the History of Magic class, they had lunch before they went to DADA class. Once again they were disappointed, Professor Quirell stuttered so much no one could understand him.

Ember knew that if she wanted to pass History of Magic and DADA then she would have to self-study a lot. She mentioned this to Daphnee and Tracey after the three left DADA class for the day. After talking for a bit the three decided to make a study group where they could help each other with classes and assignments.

Ember and her friends spent their break looking for a place for the study group to meet up. They couldn't meet up in the library, while there would be plenty of books around the group could learn from, they had heard that the librarian glared at anyone who talked even if it was in a whisper.

They wouldn't be able to get anything done if the group met there.

By the time it was time for dinner, they still hadn't found a good place to meet up. There were plenty of empty classrooms but the three girls wanted a place where they wouldn't be bothered, especially by Damien Potter and his sidekick Ron Weasley.

Ember vowed to find someplace where she and her two new friends could meet. The three girls had just sat down right before plates of food popped onto the table and Ember felt like facepalming.

Who knew the castle better than anyone? The house-elves! They would know of a place for Ember and her friends to meet up to study. She vowed to ask the elves about it later, probably tomorrow. She would call Bippy and ask her if she had any idea where the Hogwarts Kitchen was.

After dinner Ember, Daphne, and Tracy walked back to their rooms and got a bit of sleep before the three of them had to go to Astronomy at midnight. As soon as the class was over everyone went back to bed. Ember was so bored with the classes she had taken so far, they had all been way too easy so far and two of them were awful. At least homework for them would be easy for some time until they started working on the harder stuff.

Wednesday was the same as the last two days. Ember got up early and went down to the common room to read with Daphne and Tracy joining her an hour later, the three spent some time reading together before going down to breakfast.

After Breakfast was Double History, and Ember once again put a silencing spell around the desk the three girls chose to keep them awake. She spent the rest of the class reading and taking notes from the book alongside her friends.

After History was Herbology, a class that was actually teaching Ember something. The class had a good Professor that made things interesting and fun for the first-year class.

The Professor split the class up into groups. Daphne was with Hanna Abbot, Tracy was with Megan Jones, and Ember was paired with Susan Bones.

Ember wasn't that beat up about being partners with Susan, this just meant she could try and make friends with her. Of course, she would be careful about what she told her, Susan's aunt was the head of the DMLE after all.

After Herbology was lunch, and after lunch was another double session of Defense class, something that made all three girls let out a groan when hearing it.

Ember disliked Defense the most so far, the Professor gave her a weird vibe and seemed to dislike her.

After class she told her friends she would be back, she just had to go do something real fast. She waited until she was out of sight before she called for Bibby.

"Mistress called for Bibby?"

"Yes, I was wondering if you knew where the kitchens here at Hogwarts are?" Ember asked the house elf.

Bibby nodded her head so fast her ears flopped around, "Yes Ma'am, Bibby knows! Bibby can be showing you?" She tilted her head before leading her down to the kitchens and showed her how to get in after Ember nodded.

"Just give the pear a tickle Mistress." Bibby popped away, likely to go check on one of Ember's gems.

She turned and stared at the door before shrugging, she didn't have anything to lose if this didn't work so she tickled the pear and opened the door after the nob appeared.

She walked in and was suddenly surrounded by hundreds of House Elves, all asking if she would like something. Ember had to stop herself from freaking out and drawing her sword, instead, she yelled stop at the top of her voice.

She quickly explained that she just came here to see if the elves knew of a room she and her friends could study in where they wouldn't be interrupted. The Elves showed her the Room of Requirement. something that Ember would be taking advantage of to help train her Gem powers. After her small adventure, she went back to the common room and spent the rest of the night hanging out and talking with Daphne and Tracy.
