Chapter Seven: Bar Scene

Wes and the others went to a pool hall where kids not old enough to drink but are able to hang out. Chad sees Liv there.

"Hey Liv." Chad said holding a cue stick.

"Whatever." She said.

SMACK! Amber breaks a new game, the balls ricochet. Some find pockets. Mindy holds a cue, frowning at the decent break. Wes nurses a Coke at a nearby table. Mike is watching with her. Stacy and Nate are kissing. David is holding a cue stick as well.

"So what's she like? The sister?" Liv asked about Sam.

"Sam's cool." Chad responds.

"You're just saying that because she let you wear Pokemon onesies to bed for a year." Mindy said as the group laughed with the exception of Amber.

Amber misses her shot, Mindy lines up hers. As she speaks, Amber tipples whiskey from her flask into everyone's Cokes.

"Trust me, Sam's not "cool." Amber said.

"Why isn't she cool." Mike asked. "I thought she was hot." He said hiving David.

"Because she tried to keep me and Tara apart." Amber said.

"Nah, that's not it." Wes said. Amber looked at him.

"You hate Sam cause she spilled the beans about you and Kandice Marsden hooking up which caused Tara to end the relationship." Mindy said. Wes nods point to Mindy because she was right.

"Yeah and Sam was against their relationship to begin with." Wes said.

"Ah now it makes sense." Nate said. "You was cheating on Tara, Sam found out and blabbed your dirty little secret and Tara broke up with you. Now you hate big sis for it." He continued. They all giggled.

"Shut up." Amber said

Wes covers his own soda before Amber can spike it.

"I'd prefer to stay sharp, thanks." Wes said. Amber's eye rolled.

"So what, you're going to protect Tara from her own sister now?" Mindy asked.

"She's my girlfriend, so yeah." Amber responds.

"Correction; was your girlfriend til you cheated on her." Wes said. Besides, she was my girlfriend too." Wes revealed.

"Freshmen year. For like five minutes. Relax." Amber said.

"It would have been a lot longer if you hadn't swooped in." Wes said revealing that he and Tara did date and Amber was right, it was only three months. Too short of relationship to be mentioned.

"Tara made the first move, bud. The heart wants what it wants." Amber smirking.

"How did that happen? David asked.

"So Wes and Tara dated for like two or three months or something. I noticed her looking at me. One day she comes over to my table, chats me up, next thing I know we're making out behind the bleachers." Amber said to them.

"That's so hot." Nate said as the group laugh earning a pinch from Stacy.

Mindy takes a break from running the table. Studies Wes.

"Hm. Motive." Mindy said.

"What?" Wes asked.

"If I can't have her, no one can." Mindy said smirking.

"Fuck you, Mindy-" Wes said.

"Nothing personal. We're all suspects. Except maybe Liv." Mindy said to him.

"Thank you." Liv said.

"You're way too boring to be a psycho." Mindy says as the others laugh.

Liv blinks. Points to her pink hair.

"Um, hello? Wes is the boring one." Liv said.

"No, Wes is the goody-goody. And you know who has pink hair? Boring people who dye their hair pink so they feel less boring." Mindy said.

"Don't say that Mindy. Liv could totally be a killer." David said.

"Oh yeah how's that?" Mindy asked.

"She could fuck her victims to death." David said as they all laughed.

"Fuck you David." Liv said angrily.

"Promise?" David said high fiving Mike and Nate. Stacy shoved Nate who turned to her surprised.

Liv, about to retort when she spots Vince.

"Hey, Liv." Vince greeted her. The group turns to see Vince hovering. Menacing. "Buy you a real drink? Or are you happy at the kids' table? Liv shudders. Chad gets in his face hoping to score some points with her.

"Look, Uglier Michael Myers, it was a Summer fling. You need to get the fuck over it. I'd be happy to help you with that." Chad said standing up for Liv.

"I'd be happy to open you up." Vince said pulling out comes Vince's switchblade. Chad freezes. Watching from the back was Dewey Riley and Zeke. Both were worried. Dewey decides to intervene. He's a bit tipsy.

"Put that thing away, Vince. You don't want anyone to get hurt." Vince turns to confront the drunk and we see-Dewey Riley. "Why don't you leave these kids alone and come have a drink with me-" Dewey said.

"Fuck you, Riley." Vince said. BAM! Vince's fist collides with the side of Dewey's head. Dewey drops. But Vince doesn't stop there. He pummels Dewey as Chad tries unsuccessfully to pull him off.

BAM!!! A punch lands on Vince's face, the knife falls from Vince's hands. He falls to the floor. Chad picks up the knife. Mindy smiles when she notices who punched Vince.

"Zeke!" She bellows excitedly. He looks over at her and winks.

"What the fuck?" Vince said attempting to stand up. "Who the fuck hit me?" He asked finally getting to his feet.

"I did asshole. You got a big mouth. I don't like fucktards like you stinking up my hometown. And I don't take kindly to someone like yourself pulling a knife out in my baby brother. Do it again and I might take that personally." Zeke said smirking evilily. Chad smiled surprised his big brother is there.

"Who is he?" Mike asked Wes. Amber, David, Nate and Stacy also wanted to know.

"His name is Zach Meeks. We call him Zeke." Wes explained. "He is cool."

"Cops are on their way, Vince!" the bartender said.

Vince looks over to see the Bartender holding a phone. Reluctantly, Vince backs up towards the door.

"See you around, Liv." Vince said leaving the pool hall.

"You guys leave to." Bartender said.

"Damn it. See what that asshole did?" Nate asked complaining.

"Let's go." Wes said as the group file out of the pool hall.

"Dewey need a ride home?" Zeke asks.

"Nah, I'm gonna head home." Dewey said. "Just get your brother and sister home."

"Ok." Zeke said wrapping his arm around Mindy's shoulder as they headed out, got into his car and drove off.

Dewey stumbled into his car and drove off.
