Is really just another test
Few are content with less

Or treated as a passing guest
When that eventually happens
It does no good to protest
Two can reach out
Even share with zest
No one wants rejection
Even if it's in jest
Feelings are directed
One hopes the other they will infest
If that's not the case
One usually becomes a pest
It's hoped love's stinger
Will penetrate the chest or breast
More often than not
It just stirs up a hornet's nest
