...
"Are you done yet?" Rodrick questioned, bored, as he idly twirled his wand around. He was once again standing outside the girl's bathroom on the ground floor, only this time there was hopefully no imperiused troll waiting to attack them.
Which admittedly enough wasn't a situation he'd ever thought would apply to his life, but here he was.
With every abnormality he faced, from the obscenely optimistic people he surrounded himself with, that been Tracey for the most part, to the obscenely strange happenings in the castle so far, he found himself wondering if Durmstrang could've been any similar.
Though considering it had led his grandfather to who he was, he doubted it.
"Almost!" The redhead remarked from the inside of said bathroom, the sound of the sink's non-stop running filling his background as he let out a sigh.
He wasn't sure what he was here for, only that the redhead had evidently made an agreement with Peeves? To leave her alone or something?
Which was confusing since she, like everyone else in their shared house did, could've just threatened to sic their bloody ghost of a mascot.
It still boggled his mind that out of all of the Hogwarts ghosts, the only one visually known for probably committing murder belonged to them.
Whoever was in charge of their public relations department clearly learned from his grandfather's one.
Personally, he hoped he never needed one in the future, 'cos if he did, then something had clearly gone wrong.
"Hey Rodrick, I gotta potion's question for you." The girl's voice came out of the bathroom somewhat louder what with the sudden stop of the sink.
"Hm?" He turned around to the slowly opening bathroom door.
"What do you get when you mix a snake with a water balloon?"
Before he could even process the question, he watched as something rapidly filled up his vision and promptly splashed across his face, wetting his transfigured hair and clothes in the process.
"A very wet Slytherin!" The girl exclaimed, a wide smile on her face, as she held the rest of her projectiles with her other hand.
Side note, transfigured hair reacted to water the same as regular hair- Provided one could keep their magic held in place.
Second side note, it was startling how easy it was to lose said control, given he almost had, following an attack via water balloon. He personally made that note for the future.
He shook his head, watching as the water dangled off for a moment before he locked gazes with the still rather smug and smiling girl.
"Question, Davis." He remarked, pulling his wand out. The sound of her second name quickly put the girl on alert as he watched her take a step back, a strained smile on her face. The smile turned into worry as she haphazardly tried and failed to hold one of the water balloons that suddenly sprang out of her hand's hold and into his own courtesy of a summoning charm. "What do you get when you mix a water balloon, with the Engorgio spell?"
"Wait a second-" And before she could finish, her free hand reaching out towards him in the process, the water balloon in his hand rapidly expanded and promptly exploded on his hand covering the rest of his clothing in water in the process.
"...These are muggle balloons... They can't handle spells..." The girl remarked, barely holding back the amusement from her face.
He took in a deep breath, pointed his wand towards the rapidly wide-eyed girl, and let out said breath with an Aquamenti charm.
Needless to say, Tracey promptly dropped the other four balloons in her hand, though they thankfully never exploded.
Even better, the girl was now wetter than he was!
A small part of him had a feeling there was something wrong with that sentence though he ignored it in favor of the drenched girl rapidly blinking as she processed what had just happened.
The two stared at each other for a moment before they both broke into laughter.
"Cheater!" The girl shook her head in between chortles as she stood carefully, before picking up her dropped projectiles and walking over towards him.
"Slytherin," He grinned in response.
She rolled her eyes at him, as she reached him.
"Hold still," He remarked. "I got a charm to get rid of the water."
"Yeah well, keep it away from my balloons!" The girl deadpanned as she promptly held said water balloons to the side-
"I am not interested in your balloons. Personally prefer magical ones I can enlarge." He snorted in response.
Yet just before he could actually activate the scouring charm on the both of them, another set of voices and footsteps promptly interrupted and attracted their attention.
"What... Is going on here?" The two turned towards a ginger and a boy with a scar apprehensively staring at them.
"Probably looking for more trolls for easy points," Ronald Weasley followed Harry Potter's question with sarcasm. The greatest of all sins really.
He promptly turned towards Tracey Davis and found a mischievous glint in the girl's eyes. When she noticed his staring, a small grin slowly grew on her face as she promptly handed him half the balloons in her hand.
Credit to Harry Potter, becuase judging by his widened eyes, he immediately noticed the danger.
"So, why are-" Before Ron Weasley could finish his question, Harry Potter grabbed him by the arm and told him to run.
Tracey Davis threw the first one, barely missing the black-haired Gryffindor.
Rodrick elected to use magic to make sure their next one landed- Only to promptly freeze as he watched the Boy-Who-Lived twist on his feet and grab the offending ball. While Ron Weasley quickly picked up the one that had failed to explode off the floor beside him.
"...Whoops..?" Tracey Davis remarked, a strained giggle coming out again.
Rodrick briefly looked at the balloon in his hand, looked back towards the now grinning Gryffindors, and promptly shrugged as he handed said projectile back to the girl and pointed his wand at the two in front of them.
Needless to say, they stopped grinning, while Tracey admonished him for cheating again.
