"Not like we have much of a choice… you heard the statue, if we take the long path we will never make it… personally… I'm on the short path side… many of us here came here to become Hunters for our own reasons… sure we may come back next year but I highly doubt 8 out of the 14 of us would all pick to stay behind willingly…" Leorio said which did bring up a good point because while those like Shunpei, Chala, and Lillum maybe willing to stay behind for differing reasons, others like Leorio and Kurapika wouldn't be willing to stay behind…
"And the prisoner part was not alarming?" Chala said.
"At best an hour… not like they would keep us here forever… many of us came here ready to fight and die in some for a Hunter lisense… if your not willing to do that… I'm more than willing to put you in chains than… the Hunters examinees planned this out… I mean look at all the weapons here… even if we don't use force, some of us will have to stay behind or come back next year… and again… I'm not willing to let that happen… I don't want to harm anyone… but I'm not failing this exam after coming so far." Leorio points out while he had a look of determination on his face as Gon looks thoughtful.
"I'm going for the longer path… we all came here together, so I want us to all exit together." Gon said while many look to him.
"Gon…" Kurapika said while Gon continues.
"Even if it is risky, my choice will be the same." Gon said while Killua raised an eyebrow.
"You say that, but not only is it risky… but its straight up impossible… we don't have an hour, if any of us want to get by we have to go the short route… and I'm not going to be on the chained side thats for sure." Killua said while Tigra nods her head.
"Yeah… sorry for some but…" Tigra said when she hits a fist into her hand.
"But some of you will be in chains." Tigra said while she looked to be with Leorio and Killua here…
Though…
"Ummm… mind if I make one tiny suggestion before we go all battle Royal on our collective asses?" Emerald said while he had a raised eyebrow.
Everyone looked to Emerald to see what he has to say.
Before he did though he looks at Gon.
"Hey Gon… you remember the damage the Prisoners and I did to the ring and the walls outside of the ring right?... some even with their hands alone… granted one was abnormal and the other had a metal thing in his fist… so it shows the walls are on the weaker side of things around here…" Emerald said while he looks at Gon.
Gon blinks a bit after hearing that.
"I remember."
"Yeah… so instead of doing that… well to make sure that no one causes issues, same with the judges if they're watching… I'm taking this majority choice in my hands… I'm going with Gon on the long route for a shocking turnabout… pretty sure if we don't come to some kind of agreement… well… I don't mind knocking every person here out who wants to abandon their allies…" Emerald said while he emitted some seriously hostile intent while he gripped his fists and had a pressure about him that made a chill go up many spines minus Pitou who smiles when she got what Emerald was doing now.
"Nyahaha… Nya see now… hehe… alright… I'll play ball… I'll go for the long route." Pitou said when she smirks at the others… virtually the two strongest were going to back Gon, Chala, and by extension Bruno on the long path… and pretty much by force for one it seems.
Cedric looks at Azure.
"What do we pick Azure?"
"Considering we either go for guy who look nervous or afraid of Emerald right now… I'm going the long route… what about you?" Azure said when she looks at Cedric curiously.
Cedric didn't need to think.
"Long route. You and I are a team."
"I'm also picking the long route to see what Emerald has in mind." Kurapika said when he looked to be on the long route side.
"Y-Yeah… I mean… if we have to harm others… would rather risk this idea than harm others." Shunpei said while he held his Katana carefully but not on guard while Lillum nods her head.
"Yeah… come on, least we won't have hard feelings if were all in agreement." Lillum said when she looks at those like Leorio, Killua, and Tigra with a begging look on her face.
The trio looks at the face.
"Okay, I'll give it a shot." Tigra said.
Killua grumbles from this as he rubs his head.
"Ugh…fine!... just don't say I didn't warn you if this idea backfires." Killua said as he and Tigra look at Leorio.
"Fine I'll do it. Hope it's worth it." Leorio said.
Emerald grin and when many look at Tonpa he had held up hands.
"Considering that its everyone against me now… best to see where this goes." Tonpa said while he was still scared shitless metaphorically by Emerald.
Emerald nods and in no time after many picked the long route…
Emerald just shocked many when he actually punched a large enough hole through the wall to the shorter path and smirks at the others when he grins at many while Gon laughs a bit.
"Hehe!... wow!... in one blow!" Gon said while he grins as he ran through the hole.
Bruno had to nod his head as he was a bit impressed by the punch.
In no time the group ran through to the shorter hallway… in no time like the statue said… granted had to cram themselves into a few large wagon like things on tracks… the group managed to make it into a large circular room with many hunters from other parts of Trick tower… Hisoka was even there while others like the massive man and a man in red were near him with a man with needles in his head and stuff… honestly a number of applicants were surprised to see a full group of 14 show up.
Still when they entered, an alarm rang showing that this was the end of the round and more or less the end of the Trick tower arc… almost…
When the group of many applicants exit, the ran into Lippo, the main person in charge of Trick Tower and he smiles at the group which at this point, if it was Canon would be 25 (Minus one dead with that guy who tried to come in and stuff), so plus more than intended for this story, around 20 would be added making 35 people added to that total (Minus one for a dead guy for 34 really)...
"Well well well… so many here… congratulations to all of you for exiting the tower… you have two more trials: the 4th round and the final round." Lippo said while many had a thought as one.
"2 rounds left…" Many thought as Lippo continues.
"The Fourth round will be taking place on Zebiru Island… but before that…" Lippo said when he snapped his finger and a worker of his brought out a large box with a slot for a hand to fit in.
"Whats this?, from what it looks like… a Lottery?" Azure asked while Lippo smirks.
"Hehe, why a way to Determine who are the Hunters and who are the prey of course…" Lippo said making many blink.
"Prey?" Cedric said as most didn't like the sound of it.
"Indeed… inside this box there are 34 cards… the numbers are the ones that you were given to you in the beginning of the competition… you will grab ONE card, the order doesn't exactly matter for drawing but lets make it simple and go one by one for those who made it down the tower first… once you draw a card I'll explain more." Lippo said while Hisoka on his end walked first surprising many who got last since Hisoka was able to make it down Trick tower first… followed by the man in red and the hulking titan of a man showing the fastest top 3 at least.
Hisoka sees the looks.
"Are you all that surprised I'm here?"
"Given your skills… no… surprised you got by here the fastest though… nuff said we had a majority choice route and had to fight prisoners here in team battles." Emerald said while he shrugged his arm amusing Hisoka.
"I see… looks like you all had the fun route Hehehe." Hisoka said before lightly laughing as he walked by the group.
"Indeed we did." Pitou said.
"Not sure what was so fun about it though… guys weird…" Emerald said lightly while sweatdropping as many grabbed cards… when they were done… Lippo held up a finger.
"Now than… since you got the card… now the number you have on you and the number you drew have been recorded in the machine you drew the numbers from, you can do whatever you want with the card so either pocket it, memorize it, or throw it away, your call… however…" Lippo said as he points at the group.
"The participant corresponding to the number you picked becomes from this time your target… to each their own target… and what you have to do is grab the number sheet from their the target has… if you succeed you get three points… if you keep your own its 3 points… if you gain other sheets not of your target you get 1 point… to reach the end you need a total of 6 points… to pass to the next round you need to get 6 points in the time when your on Zebiru's island." Lippo said as everyone moved to pocket their numbers… however after everyone got on a boat to Zebiru's island… many were on edge… many didn't know who would be targeted by who and as many were waiting to get there after a bit of a downer happening from a new peppy woman who said something like if you don't win now you can always come back next year and stuff… well Emerald, Gon, Pitou, Killua, and Tigra were sitting in a circle away from others as Emerald hums.
"Hmmm… so anyone here could be a target of others… honestly seems like a way to force solo work if you want to play solo or group work if you want to team up to help get other points… catch is we don't know who has who and we could have issues if say Gon and I were targets of one another…" Emerald said while Gon rubs his head.
"Well I know its not Emerald thats for sure… got number 44…" Gon said while Killua looks surprised.
"Hisoka right?... I think that was his number." Killua said while he sweatdrops a moment later.
"Something tells me if I had to pick someone for the lottery drawings… you would be the last I would pick Gon." Killua said when he looks at his similarly aged friend.
"Same here." Gon said.
"Well we may as well show our numbers, depending on things can either make a truce or help get nametags… just either need one for the 3 points or three 1 points name tags." Emerald said while he looks at the others to see what they would say.
Tigra showed her number and it read 117.
When Emerald showed his card… it was 451.
Pitou showed her card next… it was 213
Gon showed his number and it was 505.
Killua showed his number and it was 99.
After this was seen… Emerald hums.
"Well now that we know that… should be honest and say that well… looks like your target Tigra… can make a deal that if you help me gain three points, won't give you issues later." Emerald said while Pitou smirks.
"Hehe, maybe if we stay there for a few days during this hunt… probably would have fun times to kill so the hunter gets a different kind of prize from his prey." Pitou said while she smirks while nudging Tigra teasingly.
Tigra blushes a bit.
"I… believe we can work something out."
Pitou looks amused while Emerald looks at her.
"What about you Pitou?... got a target?" Emerald asked while Pitou sighs and shrugged.
"Unfortunately didn't remember other tags so honestly could be anyone, can tell you its not anyone in this group though." Pitou said when she rubs her head.
"Well that's good… unless not." Gon said.
"No kidding… could be anyone… than again with Pitou, I doubt anyone here could take her." Emerald said while Pitou smirks at Emerald.
"Aww that's sweet." Pitou said.
"Quick question… you mean fight right?" Tigra said in a smirking way as Emerald blushed while he couldn't clarify things given Gon and Killua were nearby being kids so to speak.
"Depends on you." Pitou said.
Emerald blushed more when he couldn't counter that while Gon and Killua tilt their heads in confusion as the scene shifts to…
"OK!... we are at Zebiru Island… you will be all here for 1 week and because of how many applicants are here, we have made one change to the initial test here given how many prospective Hunters there are here to be." The Woman who was providing info and what not for the Exams on Ziberu Island, she was a pretty woman who wore a yellow vest with Hunter logo's on it with a white shirt, a red skirt to the middle of her legs and wore pink shoes while she had orange to brown hair and yellow colored eyes, she wore a pair of headphones with a mic on it as she smiles at many.
"Now before you ask, we have sent out some… extra points of sorts just in case for those who need to find some last minute points given that there maybe an off number of people around… they are similar to those employed by us from Trick tower to act not only as a way to spice things up, but make it so that we can test you for not only hunting prey so to speak, but also they will be keeping an eye out to make sure if anything happens to you and if your alive at the end of the exam, you will be brought back alive… there are people though not of that category so try and not interact or mess with them, they will be wearing suits for this… they are professionals after all." The woman said while she smiles cheerfully at the group.
"Again you will be staying here for one week so its up to you if you survive or not, as long as its against other applicants, anything will go, HOWEVER you have to bring back 6 points before the time is up, so if the time is up and you bring the points after… sorry but they won't be counted." The examiner said… she had a name tag on her with the name Khara and she was smiling at the group before she pulls out a stopwatch.
"Now than, we will start the test now, you will be leaving the Boat one at a time and after the first two minutes pass with those two minutes allowing you to get a head start and hide on the Island, another person will go next, I have the order of people who made it to the end of Trick tower so when I call your name, please walk off the Boat, onto the Island, and go hide… in this game, its a serious game of hide and seek to the extreme level." Khara said while she gave a chipper cheer though many didn't cheer making her cringe again since her earlier thing with coming back a year later did make many leer at her… honestly no one had a sense of humor.
"A-Anyway… first applicant Hisoka, please step off the boat." Khara said when she gestures for the Kill happy smiling Hisoka to walk off the boat and onto the Island.
Hisoka grins in excitement before he walks off the boat.
"Something tells me that guy will come after me, Pitou, one of the people for extra since he wouldn't know how strong they are, or may just go for anyone… guys a wildcard as far as I know since I can't read him…" Emerald said while sweatdropping since this test was like an all Hisoka could kill buffet for him…
Pitou pats Emerald's back.
"I'll be okay." She said.
"Its not you I'm worried for… its those not of your and my level." Emerald said since anyone else not of Emerald and Pitou's level, mainly Pitou, wouldn't last against Hisoka on a one on one fight since not many showed their skills.
"Hmmm… that's true. Not sure what we can do." Pitou said.
"For those who didn't fight at the Trick tower arena maybe… and given were walking from the boat and have to hide… won't be easy to group up… well… maybe Gon can track one of us at least… guy has a sense of smell better than a dog." Emerald said while many sweatdrop while they look at Gon who laughs while he rubs the back of his head.
"Well no denying that." Gon said with a grin.
"Right… well since you know our scents, try and locate Pitou or I so we can back you if you go for Hisoka, made a promise with Mito to not let you get harmed badly during this test… pretty sure her getting angry at me for letting you get killed would be the death of me… and in that case… pretty sure I would be killed." Emerald said while sweatdropping when he pictured an angry Mito coming after him with knives and more if Gon had lasting damage.
Gon sweatdrops.
"Yeah… I'll make sure to find you both."
"Good… until than, pretend this place is Whale Islands forest… honestly for a guy in his element with trees and stuff, doubt many could catch you here." Emerald said with a grin as Kurapika nearby sweatdrops.
"No doubt… if Gon is my target, would have a hard time getting him given the lack of ranged options on my end and the fact I would have to climb a tree to get him." Kurapika said while others left the boat.
Gon chuckled.
"Yeah… gotta love the forests."
In no time after many left the boat one by one… Pitou was last to exit the boat and when she was off the boat, she smirks at Khara.
"Hey quick question, you going to be near the Island or something?" Pitou asked while Khara blinks in confusion when she was asked that.
"Well until a week passes, will be on the boat in case people come back early so… yeah will be here in a week… why ask?" Khara said as Pitou smirks at her.
"Hehe… lets just say if I'm back early… you'll need a sub for others if they come after me." Pitou cryptically said when she licks her lips after looking Khara up and down and smirks before she left a confused Khara after she jumped into the woods.
"W-Wait what?" Khara said as she didn't know what just happened.
Though given what Pitou had in mind… it did make Pitou smirk as she jumps FAST through trees quickly outpacing many untrained Hunters for her level and Pitou had a smirk when she could get 6 points easily… but where was the fun in that?... had a week to play so why not have some fun with others?... gave her an interesting thought on who she could have fun with until than.
'So many tasty targets.' Pitou thought.
The scene fades to black here and now after Pitou fades into the shadows after using Zetsu… looks like for this Manhunt test arc… looks like Pitou would be going for many besides her intended target… whoever her target was… eithert hey would have to amuse her or lose their numbertag and quite easily as well given how strong she was compared to most…
