Quite a short chapter to round off the current bit. The next one will be the last first-year meeting between Rodrick and Dumbledore and then a small-time skip will occur to speed things up until the end of year feast.

He groaned as he came to, his eyes blinking open to the sight of a worried Granger looking down at him, her wand pointed at his face.
Taking a moment to make sure the transfiguration was still held on his face, he let out a breath and promptly rose up onto a seated position.
"Are you alright?" The muggleborn asked quickly, taking a step back as she sat on the ground herself.
He tilted his head the slightest bit and nodded. "Yeah actually, feel pretty good."
The sound of footsteps quickly made him turn his gaze towards the two wizards he'd been toadstool collecting with, Malfoy surprisingly further away than the Boy-Who-Lived. Yet, before either could say anything, Hagrid quickly loomed over him from the side- His gaze finally noticing the fact he'd been... Tending to the giant three-headed dog...
"Ah, good, yeh're up. Wha''d yeh do ter Fluffy now? Poor boy's scared as a cornered spider!"
He blinked once, twice, and let out a breath as he stood up.
"Nothing. Harry Potter did it." He deadpanned, pointing at a rapidly gobsmacked Gryffindor. "Malfoy can back me up on it,"
The blonde, pale as his face was, nodded quickly, a small grin growing on his face.
"Huh!? I didn'-"
Not letting the boy say anything, Rodrick quickly moved up past the confused half-giant, giggling Granger and a somewhat awed Weasley staring at his housemate and friend.
He was somewhat amused to see the dog quickly jump up on all fours, a very wary look gracing each of its faces as it made to loom over him-
"Heel." He deadpanned towards it and was very amused to see it rapidly fall onto its behind, only for its faces to quickly take on outrage as shook it them off, got back up, and promptly wilted as his wand showed itself beneath his robe-covered right hand. Raising an eyebrow at it, he watched as the three-headed dog took a single beat before it promptly sagged back down onto its hind legs, an utterly done expression gracing two of its face, while wariness took over its middle.
"Show us where the bad Gryffindor hurt you." He deadpanned again, to another squeak of outrage from the boy in question.
"It was obviously Rodrick!" Harry Potter remarked out loud.
"I was asleep," He defended himself, "Just ask the dog," He narrowed his eyes at said dog. "Which of us hurt you?"
It was telling that it refused to budge its gaze from him, even as it slowly raised a paw up towards the Gryffindor he was subtly pointing at with a wand.
"See?"
"You can't ser-"
"Harry, how could yeh?"
"It wasn't me, I swear!"
He rolled his eyes, even as he held in the urge to laugh out loud. Raising a single hand, albeit slowly, he reached out towards the middle head and patted it on the top of it.
A moment later, he noticed his transfiguration was still affecting the poor beast.
Idly whispering the counter spell for it, he watched a veritable sigh of relief wash over each head as its claws and teeth were turned back to normal-
The Expulso charm immediately showed his displeasure the moment it tried to take a bite out of him.
It didn't push it back per se, but it certainly slowed it down enough for the half-giant to step in between the two of them.
Good thing too, considering he was planning to throw a dark curse at it that time.
Or actually succeed in transfiguration its teeth and claws into stinging nettles.
"See? If it was me, it wouldn't have had the gall to attack me that time," He snorted as he locked gazes with the three Gryffindors, finding outrage in the scarred-boy, Exasperation on the muggle-born, and a frown and pair of crossed arms on the third.
"Oh it don' mean ter attack, it on'y wants a little attention- T'was stuck guarding the philosophers stone until recently, yeh know? Doin' a grand old job fer the headmaster!" A beat passed. "Weren't yeh?" The half-giant cooed, completely oblivious to the sheer shock that radiated out of the rest of them
The Philospher's stone was real.
The key to pseudo-immortality was a thing that truly existed. His grandfather hadn't been pulling his leg about it.
The most wanted item in the world, searched for by criminals and researchers of all kind- An item that dark and light wizards of all kinds would likely wage wars over for!
...Albus Dumbledore hid it in a children's school.
Forget caution... He was going to have a very opinionated word with the man, and then he was going to transfer schools.
Because it was becoming exceedingly clear that the man was without a doubt far crazier than his grandfather ever was.
