"Last time, on Total Drama Island..." the recap of the last episode began with a plain shot of all of Camp Wawanakwa in the day, before clips from the episode followed while Chris narrated them. "We met 68 raring players as they arrived on the island to begin their long journey! Some already got comfy, while others made their discomfort very known! After a mishap with the dock, everyone set out on a race to the top of a 1,000 foot high cliff to form their teams! Lightning had an ego bigger than this show's budget, so the Frogs of Death became the Lightning Squad! Will this squad pull through? Or will they be the first to send someone home? And just who is that special loser that couldn't even last a day on this island? Find out right here, on Total, Drama, Island!" Chris concluded, with him now raising his arms and standing on the aforementioned cliff.
Intro Sequence:
Rock music began and the opening notes of I Wanna Be Famous kicked in as cameras popped up from various places throughout the island. First in front of a bunch of trees, then out of the ground with a gopher on top, then through the window of a bathroom, startling Dave inside, and finally out of a tree and pushing a squirrel out before a film clapper came and transitioned the shot.
Dear Mom and Dad I'm doing fine, you guys are on my mind
The camera zoomed down the Dock of Shame and onto the campground, where Chris was fending off Sierra and Topher pestering him, while Blaineley was trying to take center stage. He pushed Topher aside as the camera zipped by, while Sierra just swooned.
The shot then went up a large cliff where Izzy and an unsure Emma gave each other excited looks before diving down into the water. In the water, Chase was having a good time swimming with Owen until the latter farted, making the former cough from the stench.
You asked me what I wanted to be and I think the answer is plain to see
Above the water, Bridgette and Geoff were sitting on a surfboard together, smiling at one another. That was until B sped by on a speedboat, pulling Ripper along on wakeboard while Scary Girl watched from the boat. The splash knocked the pair off of their surfboard, with Scary Girl and Ripper not bothered one bit, enjoying their time. A dead fish rose from the water thanks to Owen's fart, which an eagle swooped down and picked up, carrying it away.
I wanna beeeeeee famous!
In the woods, Dawn was meditating while Leonard and Beardo were pestering her. The fish from the eagle dropped down by them, and the two immediately fled thanks to the smell, making Dawn smirk while keeping her eyes closed. DJ and Ella were petting the animals in the woods when this happened, and both had to flee as well when the stench made the animals go berserk and attack them. Scott watched all this from behind a tree, laughing to himself. Max laughed at this too, but attracted too much attention and soon had to flee.
I wanna live close to the sun
Further downstream from the forest, Heather and LeShawna were slapfighting each other riding one raft, while Shawn and Jasmine were happily riding together in one behind them. The former two were too distracted and went falling down a waterfall ahead, while Shawn was quick to steer their raft to the river bank, safe from falling.
Go pack your bags 'cuz I've already won
Harold was practicing his karate moves with Axel on a log in front of the waterfall, who was deflecting all of his moves easily while Julia filmed it on her phone, trying to talk to an uninterested Nichelle while doing so. Heather and LeShawna fell in the background, and Lightning quickly stepped onto the log, carrying another log just to show off his strength to Julia's recording. This weight made the log snap, and all 5 of them fell.
Everything to prove nothing in my way, I'll get there one day
Panning to the left, Damien was skateboarding by himself when he crashed into the confessional, knocking Zee out and confusing Zoey who was just about to use it, while MK poked out from behind, messing with the wires.
Further left was the dining hall, where inside Chef was making something disgusting while Wayne and Raj watched in horror, the former much more scared than the latter. Amy and Samey were bickering nearby, so Chef shut them both up by shoving food into their mouths.
'Cuz I wanna beeeeeee famous!
At the counter, Jo, Brick, Tyler, and Eva were having an arm wrestling tournament while Millie and Duncan watched while eating popcorn. The girls beat the boys, with them high fiving as the guys were shocked at their losses.
Zipping past Noah, Scarlett, Cameron and Staci studying together at one of the dining tables, the shot went outside where Katie, Bowie, and Sadie were fawning over Caleb, Alejandro, and Justin suntanning. Heather saw this as she stepped out of the dining hall, and just stormed back inside.
Na na nana nanananana nanananana
Anne Maria was applying spray tan while looking out at the beach when Sky and Priya passed by on a sprint, nearly knocking her over. Ezekiel soon passed by as well, but Anne Maria sprayed him down angrily.
Sam was sitting not far from Anne Maria, playing on his Gameguy. Mike was watching him play, but when the sprinting girls passed by, he gasped and turned into Chester, shaking a fist at them.
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous!
Panning to the Dock of Shame, Rodney was sitting on a crate watching Lindsay help Dakota get her makeup on. Once it was ready, Dakota stepped back and paparazzi swarmed the scene, flashing pictures while Lindsay and Rodney watched in amazement.
Sugar stepped onto the dock, now posing for the paparazzi as well, much to Dakota's annoyance. Courtney arrived to shoo away the paparazzi, but to no avail. Finally, Beth rushed into frame with a flaming baton. She tossed it up, before it landed on the dock and made it burst into flames, sending everyone into a panic.
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous!
The flames from the Dock of Shame transitioned to the bonfire trail on the night sky. Panning down, Gwen and Trent were sitting together at the campfire, leaning in happily. That was until Cody popped out between the two of them, putting hands on both their shoulders. The camera panned out after this, showing the rest of the cast sitting on tree stumps, barrels, and tires, whistling the last few notes of the tune while the words "Total Drama Island" were shown on a wooden sign.
With the intro over, the episode picked up right where the last one left off, at the top of the 1,000 foot high cliff where Chris stood in front of the four newly formed teams. "That's right! Your first actual challenge is to jump off of this cliff, into the lake!" Chris announced the challenge now that the cameras were rolling again.
Damien right away raised a hand, extremely worried. "Uh, say what now? We're getting parachutes right? By the laws of physics, a drop from this height would-"
"Cram the nerd talk, just let him explain it!" Amy cut Damien off, elbowing him.
Topher chuckled, nodding in agreement. "Yeah, calm down Damien. Chris is far from simplistic, so there's more to this!" Topher added, complimenting Chris as always.
Again, Chris took the compliment gladly. "Thank you Topher! And you are right! There are sharks in the water too!" Chris thanked Topher, just further instilling fear.
Sky now expressed concern, one hand on her chin. "Umm, they're trained sharks right? This seems extremely dangerous." Sky asked worriedly.
Chris shrugged his shoulders, then pointed down at the lake below. "Maybe, but look down at the lake for now. You'll see two target areas, the outer one is where the sharks are swimming, and the smaller orange ring is a safe zone! That's where your target area is!" Chris explained to the players.
"So what if we miss that spot huh? We just gonna get gobbled up and that's that?" Anne Maria asked, peeking over the cliff.
Chris shook his head, his hands behind his back. "Nope! For every person that jumps and actually survives, your team scores a point! The team that scores the most points wins a major advantage for part 2! Trust me, you want this advantage! Whichever team loses in part 2 will be sending someone home too, keep that in mind!" Chris elaborated.
"Just one jump for a point? Easy peasy! Y'all just gotta jump and not be yella!" Sugar remarked confidently.
Chris hopped on his red ATV with Chef, looking to the Bass. "Since you got here first Chase, you guys get to go first! Then the Gophers, followed by the Trout, and finally the Lightning Squad will go last!" Chris laid out the order, before driving off with Chef.
"Plenty of time to watch the others chicken out, go Team Lightning!" Lightning declared, pumping a fist.
The Bass began to approach the edge of the cliff, taking a look at their target area. "So, who wants to go first?" Chase asked, feigning bravery.
Crickets could be heard after that, as none of the Bass stepped forward. "Oh... well this is gonna be fun..." Chase mumbled, letting out a sigh afterward.
-Confessional: Killer Bass: Chase-
Chase rubbed the back of his head, awkwardly chuckling. "I'm used to doing wicked stunts with my buds, but this? I mean, this is real! Er, not that my videos are staged, just we didn't make this stunt, someone else did! It might not be safe enough for me!"
-End Confessional-
Seeing how scared everyone was, Priya stepped forward. "Relax everyone! I've seen a ton of reality shows. They always have interns or stuntmen test out the challenges to make sure they're safe!" Priya assured the team.
Cody already felt much more at ease with the challenge after hearing this, as were some others. "Oh yeah, that's a good point! If some interns can do it, we definitely can! So who's gonna jump first? I just want to see someone else go, hehe..." Cody agreed with Priya.
Axel crossed her arms, glaring at him. "Well I'm staying right here to make sure no one chickens out. We are winning that advantage!" Axel proclaimed, pointing at the ground.
Noah chuckled, looking over the edge of the cliff. "Yeah, you're going to be here a while then commando, because I'm not jumping 1,000 feet." Noah told Axel, then began to walk away.
Before he could get very far though, Axel scowled and jumped in the air, then kicking Noah in the stomach and sending him flying off the cliff. "AAAAAAAAAAAGH!" Noah yelled in a shrill voice as he plummeted down.
Noah landed in the safe zone, and then surfaced moments after, spitting out a bunch of water. "Woah! You can't just kick a teammate like that!" Courtney scolded Axel.
"Whatever! He landed in the safe zone and we got the point, he wasn't going to jump otherwise! Do you need the same push!?" Axel defended herself, glaring at Courtney now.
"I'm alright! Jerk!" Noah yelled from below, now waiting as a motorboat piloted by Irene drove over to the safe zone from the beach.
-Confessional: Killer Bass: Axel-
Axel had her arms rested on her knees, looking at the camera fiercely. "I didn't come here to lose because I got stuck with slackers on my team! I'm better than all these people, so I have to be as tough as possible so they know their place!"
-End Confessional-
While Noah got picked up, Priya now took a deep breath, getting ready to jump. "Okay! I've trained for this, so here I go!" Priya shouted, then ran forward and jumped, taking perfect diving form as she went down.
Priya landed in the safe zone just fine, waving to the rest of her team once she surfaced. "Guess I'll go next then. Can't be so bad if she can do it!" Rodney volunteered, taking much less prep time as he just jumped and fell down towards the lake.
Noah was already in the motorboat and Priya was now climbing into it when Rodney landed in the safe zone, creating a large splash and soaking both Noah and Priya. "Seriously?" Noah complained, since now some water pooled half an inch on the motorboat.
"Ah, sorry! Forgot about the splash." Rodney apologized as he too climbed into the motorboat.
"It's okay! We scored the point, and no one got hurt! Noah's just a little grumpy from being kicked." Priya assured Rodney, giving Noah a side-eye for a moment.
Rodney began to zone out after that, longingly staring at Priya. "Uh, the shock from the fall might be kicking into the meathead now." Noah commented, sitting down on the boat bench while noticing Rodney's blank stare.
-Confessional: Killer Bass: Rodney-
Rodney held both hands together, happily swooning. "Did you hear the way Priya comforted me? She defended me right away! Not just any girl does that! It's a sign of looooove!"
-End Confessional-
Seeing the three Bass all land in the safe zone and make it onto the motorboat just fine, Jasmine gave a thumbs up to the rest of the team. "They all made it just fine, seems like it ain't much trouble. No worry for a fall of wicket then! See you all below!" Jasmine remarked, then jumped herself.
"If it's not hard, then we all can do it too! Just put on a brave face and take the leap!" Nichelle encouraged the others.
"Oh I remember that line in International Reward, you were so good in that one!" Samey praised Nichelle as she heard the pep line.
"Whatever you say Nichelle!" Cody was now pumped, running forward and jumping.
Nichelle chuckled at Cody actually jumping, then looked to Samey. "Shooting the pyramid scenes in that one was so fun! This jump is almost as big as the pit in that movie!" Nichelle noted, watching Jasmine and Cody land in the safe zone.
"That was a film no? I would presume a stunt double was used for such a large fall." Scarlett asked, walking up to the pair.
Nichelle ignored her, instead still looking at Samey. "You wanna jump together like Sandra and Suzy in International Reward?" Nichelle asked her.
"That would make this easier yeah, I'm not a fan of heights..." Samey answered, then grabbed Nichelle's hand.
The two then ran forward and jumped together, both girls screaming as they plummeted down to the safe zone. Their splash still wasn't as big as Rodney's despite them hitting the water together. "Thus, my question goes unanswered." Scarlett noted to herself, then jumped as well.
-Confessional: Killer Bass: Scarlett-
Scarlett had both hands on her lap, staying polite. "As someone who has studied behavioral science, Nichelle dodging such a trivial question does open up some possibilities. I plan on maintaining a low profile to advance in this game, and if it is a touchy subject with actors, then I shall leave the topic be. Nichelle is an excellent morale booster due to her preconceived popularity, demotivating her or turning her against me would not be favorable."
-End Confessional-
Scott watched more of his team take the jump, although he didn't seem too happy about it. "Hold on, it might be safe for an action hero or someone built like Jasmine or Rodney, but can the rest of you handle it?" Scott asked the Bass who had yet to jump.
Chase was just about to jump when Scott asked this, and now he stepped away from the edge of the cliff. "Uh..." he now reconsidered jumping.
"Izzy can handle anything!" Izzy exclaimed in response, then sprinted forward and front flipped off the cliff.
Scott facepalmed at this, which Axel took quick note of and marched right up to him. "Are you trying to scare my team!?" Axel accused him.
"What? No, I'm just making sure no one gets hurt. A teammate sent to the hospital is no longer a teammate." Scott replied coyly.
Axel narrowed her eyes at Scott, hands on her hips as she tried to get a read on him. Chase walked up to the two though, mostly annoyed with Axel. "Woah woah, your team? Uh, I'm captain, remember? Who said you were in charge of morale? You're supposed to jump and get your point!" Chase ordered her, pointing over the cliff.
Scott smirked as Chase took his side, while Axel's stare remained fixed on the farm boy. "You're right, I'll just score a point." Axel told Chase.
Chase sighed with relief as she agreed with him. "Great, good luck landing in the safe-"
"GAHH!" Scott let out as Axel kicked him in the stomach, sending him flying off the cliff and plummeting down to the lake below.
"Seriously!?" Chase let out, his frustration just growing.
"Got a point like you said. We had another coward on our hands! But fine, I'll jump, but don't throw this at me when the other cowards don't jump!" Axel once again justified her actions, then jumped off the cliff herself.
-Confessional: Killer Bass: Scott-
Scott crossed his arms, giving a bothered look to the camera. "I have a whole strategy worked out for this game y'see. I'm just gonna keep throwing challenges until the other teams have no respect for us. Then not only are we underestimated and ignored until the teams merge, but I also get to eliminate all the big threats. But right now? That survival expert thinks she gets to boss us around and force a win. Not on my watch."
-End Confessional-
Axel rocketed towards the lake with perfect form and landed in the center of the safe zone, while Scott flailed and landed just outside of the safe zone. "Ooh! He's in range of the sharks!" Izzy exclaimed, pointing to where Scott landed while standing in the motorboat.
Axel surfaced and climbed in, then cupped one hand over her mouth to call to him. "Swim or else you're shark bait! Now!" Axel yelled to Scott.
Scott surfaced and looked around as soon as he saw he wasn't in the safe zone, right away panicking when he saw a shark fin coming towards him. "S-Shark! They're really here!" Scott let out as he began to swim toward the motorboat.
Leonard was looking over the cliff with his spell book in one hand and his wand in the other. "I hereby invoke aquaticus invincicus! Scott shall be the predator instead of the prey!" Leonard declared, then thrust his wand forward.
"Umm, was that a spell?" Emma asked, a bit confused.
Leonard nodded, lowering his wand. "But of course! I cast a protective spell on Scott so he can get to the water vessel safely!" Leonard answered proudly.
"I don't think that will work, I mean, not in this instance." Emma replied, extremely doubtful.
"You don't believe in my magic? Observe! You shall see my blessings are more than spoken!" Leonard commanded, pointing his wand back down towards Scott.
Scott was just swimming as fast as he could, with two sharks now popping up and baring their teeth as they got closer. "Chris! Help!" Scott yelled as he swam.
Chris now stood on the beach, just observing the challenge with a smile. "With what?" Chris asked in response, his smile just getting bigger.
The sharks dove back underwater and now got right below Scott, ready to swim up and eat him. "Guess that's one less double elim to schedule." Chef commented to Chris as the sharks got into position.
Just before they could reach Scott though, he grabbed onto the side of the motorboat and was pulled to safety by Izzy and Axel. The sharks bit at the air, before letting out disappointed whimpers and going back in the water. "Are you hurt?" Axel asked Scott, looking him over.
Scott just stood up and let out a huff, glaring at Axel. "I'm fine." he responded coldly, then sat on the boat's bench, away from her.
"See! My spell worked!" Leonard proudly remarked, then put his wand back into his robe pocket.
"Uh huh, sure sweetie." LeShawna responded, chuckling a little.
-Confessional: Killer Bass: LeShawna-
LeShawna stifled a laugh, one hand over her mouth for a moment. "That wizard boy sure ain't helpful, but he's pretty funny, I'll give him that!"
-End Confessional-
Emma was hesitating on jumping now after seeing Scott get attacked, which Chase quickly noticed. "Hey babe, are you scared to jump?" Chase asked her as he walked up.
"UGH! Don't call me babe! And are you scared to jump!? You're the captain, you should've jumped already!" Emma snapped back.
"Woah woah woah, I'm just here as captain making sure everybody jumps!" Chase defended himself.
"That's what you got mad at Axel for." Courtney pointed out, glancing at the two.
Emma nodded in agreement, pointing at Chase. "Yeah! You're just a coward huh! The boys didn't set this up, so you don't wanna do it! Just like when you refused that boxing match with-"
"Okay okay! I'll jump! But you better not chicken out!" Chase conceded, not wanting Emma to tear into him further.
LeShawna chuckled, seeing the two bicker. "Why don't y'all just jump together?" she suggested.
Emma gulped, before just putting on a brave face. "You know what, yeah! We'll jump together! Hurry up Chase!" Emma called to Chase after running up to the edge of the cliff.
"Why didn't we all just jump together? That could have like, won the challenge right away." Zee asked, now pondering the scenario.
Chase stood beside Emma, and the two now crouched down. "One, two, three!" they counted together, then jumped down to the safe zone.
"Those two really work together huh? Let's just hope I can make it too!" LeShawna commented, before jumping off the cliff as well.
-Confessional: Killer Bass: Chase-
Chase pointed both fingers at himself, winking at the camera. "You hear that? Emma wanted us to hurry up and get together! I know it was about the cliff, but she still said it!"
-End Confessional-
Seeing the three of them make it in the safe zone just fine, Courtney now looked to Zee. "Alright, it's your turn now." Courtney commanded, pointing over the cliff.
Zee saw Emma, Chase, and LeShawna get picked up by the motorboat, then looked at Courtney again. "My turn for what?" Zee asked her, a little confused.
"To jump off the cliff? That's literally the challenge." Courtney reminded him, also a little confused now.
"Dude that's like a big drop. You sure it's safe?" Zee questioned Courtney.
Courtney facepalmed, then nodded her head. "Yes, it is safe. Almost the whole team has jumped now. So are you going to jump now?" Courtney answered, tapping her foot.
Zee nodded, then fixed his hat to make sure it would stay on. "Yeah for sure, here I go!" Zee exclaimed, then jumped off the cliff.
"Wait! You're supposed to go for the... safe zone..." Courtney wasn't able to stop Zee in time, seeing that he was jumping the complete wrong way.
Zee landed far from the safe zone with a splash, closer to the beach than the orange ring. "Woo! That's a point right?" Zee asked the others currently on the motorboat.
"Swim! You ain't gonna like what's coming your way!" LeShawna shouted, pointing behind Zee.
Zee looked back and saw two fins coming towards him then began to scream as he now swam as fast as he could towards the shore. "Chondrichthyes begone! You shall face the wrath of Thor for harming my party!" Leonard shouted, now pointing his staff at the two sharks.
"That's not going to help!" Courtney argued, crossing her arms.
"Oh it will! Just like with Scott! You shall observe!" Leonard declared, keeping his staff pointed at the sharks.
Zee almost made to shore, before one of the sharks lunged forward and pulled Zee below the water by his left leg. "Gah! Oh no no dude!" Zee yelled as he tried to pull himself away flailing his arms wildly.
Jasmine rushed over to where he was swimming and dove into the water, then began to help pull Zee to the shore. "Come on mate, you aren't gonna be shark food on the first day!" Jasmine shouted as she pulled.
By pulling though, Zee's leg was yanked away by the shark, although Jasmine was able to get him onto the sand to safety. "Aww man! The shark took my leg!" Zee complained, while the others gasped in shock.
"How is he so calm about that!?" Cody let out, way more shocked than Zee at him losing his leg. The shark that took it was now just chewing it in its mouth while the other shark swam away to go find food elsewhere.
Scarlett walked over, adjusting her glasses. "He is most likely in a state of shock. A common human reaction to losing a limb or suffering a mortal wound. He should pass out relatively soon." Scarlett hypothesized.
"Bummer man... that was a good leg, I really liked that one too." Zee added, more sad than anything, not a sign of pain on his face.
The shark continued to chew on his leg, before just giving up and spitting it out towards the beach, where the prosthetic landed right besides Zee. "Alright! Thanks shark dude!" Zee thanked the shark, then reattached the prosthetic.
"Is there a reason you never told us your leg was a prosthetic!?" Axel asked harshly, also marching over to him with the others.
"Probably the same reason you never told us yours wasn't brah." Zee replied, standing back up just fine.
Axel dropped the intensity, nodding afterward. "Fair enough." she said, before leaving him be.
Since Zee was alright, Chris now pulled out his megaphone and pointed it at the top of the cliff. "Alright! You guys go ahead and jump now!" Chris directed them.
Courtney just gave Leonard the stink eye while he held his staff proudly. "Guess that spell wasn't helpful huh?" Courtney remarked, frowning at him.
"Nay! The shark grabbed the leg that wouldn't hurt Zee, thus my spell protected him! Now it's your turn!" Leonard argued, then pointed with his staff over the cliff.
Courtney rolled her eyes, then shook her head. "Yeah, I don't have a disposable leg here, so I think I'll sit this one out. I have a long life ahead, and losing a leg to a shark isn't part of that life." Courtney refused, then began to walk away from the cliff.
"Oooh! Looks like we've got a chicken on our hands! Chef, get the chicken hats out!" Chris announced as he watched Courtney start to walk back down the hill.
Seeing Courtney leave, Leonard now began to follow her down. "Come on! You guys can do it!" Priya tried to cheer them on.
The cheers fell on deaf ears though, as Courtney and Leonard both kept walking down. "So, 15 points for the Bass! Only two chickens, not bad!" Chris gave the score, which most seemed fine with aside from the angry few.
-Confessional: Killer Bass: Courtney-
Courtney now wore a chicken hat, having her arms crossed. "Only two of us didn't jump, big deal. The other teams are way more likely to have people chicken out. We still have this just fine!"
-Confessional: Killer Bass: Leonard-
Leonard had his chicken hat over the top of his hood, although he didn't seem bothered. "I would have jumped, but I can only apply a water resistance spell to myself, not my outfit. I made it myself to increase my magical fortitude, although it doesn't do well getting wet."
-End Confessionals-
Since the Bass were done, Chris now shifted his megaphone to the next team. "Okay Gophers! You're up! 15 is the score to beat!" Chris told them, still being extremely loud to them despite how far away he was.
Jo clapped her hands, grabbing the attention of her team. "Alright let's do this! Just so we don't have a chicken fight to start, I'll go first! You all better follow or every person with a chicken hat is getting a beatdown!" Jo threatened everyone, then ran and dove off the cliff.
The Gophers all watched as Jo dove down, seeing her land perfectly in the safe zone. "Wow, she really did it just like that." Bridgette commented, impressed by Jo's immediate jump.
"You know, just because the superstar athlete that made it up here first did it, doesn't mean the rest of us can just do it like that." Dave still looked scared, keeping his distance from the edge of the cliff.
"Oh, so the contestants actually do the stunts on this show? I thought there would be doubles handling them like most reality shows." Blaineley remarked, not a fan of jumping either.
"Yup! So you have to jump Blaineley! Or are you too big of a chicken!? A bunch of teens can jump off a cliff but a celeb like you can't!? Says a lot!" Chris shouted at her, laughing afterward.
Nichelle gave Chris an odd look, walking up to him. "I'm a star too y'know, why ain't you beefing with me like you are with her?" Nichelle asked him.
"Because you never tried to take my job, and you're actually talented. Plus you jumped and can handle stunts, unlike that chicken Blaineley!' Chris replied, shouting into the megaphone for the last part.
"Right..." Nichelle just agreed with him, glad to not be on his bad side, and just walked away.
-Confessional: Screaming Gophers: Blaineley-
Blaineley crossed her legs, resting a hand on them. "I can already see the game Chris is playing. He's trying to make me look as bad as possible in front of my team so they just vote me off and get me out of his hair. But little does he know, it'll take a lot more than one jump to stop this star! I didn't get to the top by sitting at a desk all day and letting someone else hog my camera time!"
-End Confessionals-
"You sure about that Chris?" Blaineley smugly replied, then jumped off the cliff.
Blaineley landed in the safe zone just fine, and Chris rolled his eyes that she actually did it. He just grumbled to himself as the motorboat then picked up Jo and Blaineley.
Ezekiel chuckled, watching the boat drive them to the shore. "Chris really doesn't like her eh. Guess I'll next then! Yee-haw!" Ezekiel commented, then jumped off the cliff carefree.
Ezekiel jumped a little too far in though, and he ended up hitting his back on one of the protruding rocks on the cliffside. The others winced as this happened, but Ezekiel still managed to land in the safe zone with some course correcting. "S'all good eh!" Ezekiel held up a thumbs up to his team after he surfaced.
"Seems it's easier to make the safe zone than we thought. Ah well, might as well go too! Good luck on your jumps everyone!" Bridgette told the rest of the Gophers, then dove off with much better form than Ezekiel, soon landing in the safe zone near him.
"Let's keep the chain going dudes! I'm going next!" Geoff encouraged the others, pumping a fist in the air before leaping off the cliff.
Bridgette and Ezekiel had now climbed into the motorboat when Geoff landed in the safe zone, although it didn't go as smoothly, with him hitting one of the buoys outlining the safe zone. He hit it with a loud clank following, before sinking into the water slowly. "That one hurt bro..." Geoff let out as he sank.
Ezekiel reached into the water and grabbed him by his hat though, pulling him onto the motorboat. "You good homes?" Ezekiel asked him.
Geoff sat up, coughing up some water. "Yeah I'm good bro, thanks dude." Geoff thanked him, moving to sit on the bench and catch his breath.
Amy held up both hands after watching that, shaking her head. "Okay, no way am I jumping. Not only will I get these clothes wet, but if I get hurt and mess up my face on the first day, that's going to look so uggo on the camera." Amy now refused to jump.
Sierra frowned at this, but then an idea popped into her head and she raised a finger. "Samey's outfit was fine when she jumped though." Sierra pointed out.
The first part didn't even matter to Amy, but the second caught her attention. "Right, she jumped..." Amy muttered, clenching a fist.
Without hesitation, Amy then sprinted forward and leapt over the cliff, diving down to the safe zone. "My turn! Cannonball!" Sierra exclaimed, jumping right after Amy and plummeting down.
-Confessional: Screaming Gophers: Sierra-
Sierra giggled, before resting her hands on her lap. "Amy always has to one up Samey, always! I think a found a perfect motivator!"
-End Confessional-
After Amy and Sierra landed in the safe zone, Ella now pranced toward the edge of the cliff. "With a step and a hop, then we shall drop~ Pray we land in the zone that is safe, lest on our fall we strafe~" Ella sang, holding a note at the end.
"Tryhard much? This isn't a singing show." Julia commented, currently texting on her phone.
"Oh I know! But songs are great for motivating people!" Ella reasoned happily.
"Yeahhh, still not motivated to throw myself off a cliff, thanks." Dave remarked, not amused either.
"I for one liked the song m'lady." Harold chimed in, now walking up to the cliff.
Tyler nodded in agreement, crouching down at the edge. "Yeah! I'm gonna jump now! Nice song Emma!" Tyler thanked Ella, before jumping off the cliff in a decent dive.
"It is Ella, and you are welcome friend!" Ella accepted the thanks, before jumping herself, followed by Harold.
Tyler was the first of the three to hit the water, or rather, hit his head on one of the buoys since he dove headfirst. He sank into the water afterward, while Ella gracefully landed in the safe zone. "Ow! That had to hurt!" Damien winced in second-hand pain.
Harold then landed in the first, but completely belly-flopped. The splash wasn't very big, and Harold yelled in pain before sinking into the water like Tyler. "A belly flop from 1000 feet? He should be dead from that! But he's yellin' so I guess he's fine? Uhhh, I ain't so sure about this reality TV thing now." Damien commented, now backing away from the cliff edge.
"At least someone has common sense here..." Dave mumbled.
-Confessional: Screaming Gophers: Harold-
Harold pulled up his wet shirt, revealing a large pink spot from the belly flop. "I've actually taken way worse to the stomach, so that wasn't that bad! Try falling two stories onto solid pavement during ninja training! It hurts, but you don't get mad skills like mine without the pain!"

Dakota looked over the cliff, now also second guessing jumping. "People are getting like, hurt. Do you know what a belly flop would do to my perfect skin? Not risking that!" Dakota stated.
"Omg, you are so right! Not risking that either." Julia agreed, before taking a selfie in front of the cliff edge. "Hashtag adventure!" Julia captioned the photo, then posted it.
Damien was hesitating still, with DJ now getting scared as well. "I... I can't do it man!" DJ cried out, backing away from the edge and covering his face with both hands.
When he raised both hands though, his strength accidentally made Damien stumble forward. "Woah woah WOAHHHHHH!" Damien screamed as he then fell forward off the cliff, plummeting down to the water below.
Max laughed as Damien fell, crossing his arms. "Ha! That imbecile couldn't handle a jump! Forcing him was the only way for such a weakling!" Max made fun of Damien.
"So are you gonna jump then?" Topher asked him, smirking down at the villain.
Max stopped laughing right there, slowly nodding. "W-Well, of course I was! I simply had to limber up!" Max responded nervously, pretending to do some stretches.
Moments went by and Topher still just kept smirking at him. "Now here I go!" Max stopped pretending, then closed his eyes and jumped off the cliff.
Damien landed outside of the safe zone, gasping for air as soon as he surfaced. "I'm not in the shark zone am I!?" Damien cried out, looking around wildly.
Two fins heading right for him was all the answer he needed, prompting him to start swimming away. "No no no! This is NOT how my first day here is going! Chris! You ain't gonna let someone die right!?" Damien now yelled to Chris.
Chris just pulled out a copy of the contract, smirking at Damien from the safety of the beach. "A million bucks is a lot of money, and you signed a release, so I think I'll pass!" Chris replied.
The sharks quickly gained on Damien, and the motorboat was only now coming back to pick him up. "HELP! Y'all can't let me go out like this!" Damien begged for help as he desperately swam.
Both sharks now bared their teeth as they went in for the kill, but neither got the chance as Max landed on them, pushing them back below the water and hurting their heads. "Whew! That was close! Thanks for the save!" Damien thanked Max, who just surfaced while groaning in pain from the landing.
The motorboat pulled up and Damien climbed in, pulling Max on board with him. "You're a real hero, I woulda been dead if you didn't do that, 'cuz Chris ain't watching our backs! Can you believe that? This is a show, you can't show people dying on TV!" Damien complained, still in disbelief of it all. Max just heard this and slumped onto the boat bench, still groaning.
-Confessional: Screaming Gophers: Max-
Max rubbed his back, glaring at the camera. "All that pain, and he calls me HERO!? He will regret calling me that, for I am anything but that! Buuuut if he views me as one, perhaps I can turn him into a loyal minion! Idolism is such an easy way to sucker minions into obeying your every command! Mwahaha!"
-End Confessional-
After Damien's near miss with the sharks, Dave, DJ, and Dakota all now began to walk down the hill. "Yeah I'll pass on that!" Dave stated, his mind made up.
Jo snatched the megaphone from Chris, aiming it toward the three walkers. "Are you serious!? We need to win that advantage! If three of you go down we lose!" Jo yelled at them.
"I can't do it! The fall, the sharks, it's too much!" DJ cried out, clearly the most scared of the three.
"Well if we lost, guess I'm not jumping either. Not gonna ruin a phone for this." Julia added, now following them.
"That makes both of us. No point in jumping if we can't win! Sorry Chris!" Topher apologized, with now 5 of the Gophers walking back down.
Jo threw the megaphone at the ground, stomping her foot as they all chickened out. "12 points!? They should be apologizing to me! Not you!" Jo complained to Chris, then stormed off.
Chris picked up the megaphone and wiped the sand off, then put it to his mouth again. "With a score of 12, that means the Killer Bass are still in the lead with 15! Ferocious Trout, you're up!" Chris announced, looking to Sky's team now.
-Confessional: Screaming Gophers: Jo-
Jo had one fist clenched, then raised the other hand to count. "Dave, Julia, Dakota, and Topher! Those are the slackers I'll be holding accountable if we lose! DJ is a big guy and he's the only one who seemed scared, so he gets a pass. I'm not stupid, so I'm not going to throw blame at someone actually useful. Until those four actually do something helpful, I'm keeping them on the chopping block!"
-End Confessional-
With the Trout up now, Sky right away stepped forward and waved to get everyone's attention. "Okay, so I know some of you are scared after seeing the Bass and Gophers go, so if you are, raise your hand!" Sky began, evaluating the situation.
Katie, Sadie, Ripper, Millie, Lindsay, Beardo, and Sam all raised their hands, but Ripper quickly lowered his hand after seeing who didn't raise their hands. "Okay... that's a lot of you. Well, we're going to do a buddy system! Find someone to hold hands with and jump together! That way you can course correct better and also defend against a possible shark better!" Sky laid out her strategy.
Katie and Sadie right away grabbed hands, nodding at each other. "We can do this right?" Sadie asked her.
"You know we can! Go Team Trout!" Katie exclaimed, before the BFFFL pair ran forward together and jumped off the cliff together.
The two of them landed in the safe zone together, and Sky pumped a fist. "You did great!" Sky praised them after seeing they were safe.
Sky looked to the rest of the Trout again, seeing who still needed pairing. "The rest of you, pair up with someone who didn't raise their hand and we'll work through this together!" Sky directed everyone else.
Beardo paired up with Dawn, Sam went with Trent, Ripper went with Sugar, Mille with Brick, Lindsay with Alejandro, and Bowie with Caleb. "But... you didn't raise your hand?" Caleb pointed out when Bowie walked over to him.
"I knowwwww, but jumping with you is just too much to pass up!" Bowie replied giddily.
"Is that why you paired up with me too fair lady?" Alejandro asked Lindsay.
Lindsay blushed, nodding her head. "You just seem really good at this jalapeno!" Lindsay complimented him in response.
-Confessional: Ferocious Trout: Alejandro-
Alejandro chuckled, one hand on his hip while he casually raised the others. "My charms are already working wonders it seems. I now have Lindsay in my pocket, but I do have to amass a few more allies before I can really get confident. On a team of 17, just one or two allies won't get you anywhere. It's a good thing I'll have no problem getting more, Bowie seems easily swayed as well, I should secure him before Caleb tries to."
-End Confessional-
Seeing that everyone was now in pairs, Sky got a confident smile on her face, winking at her team. "Now that everyone who needs it is in a pair, we should be good! See you on the beach everyone, go Trout!" Sky cheered her team on, before jumping off the cliff in a perfect dive and speeding straight down to the center of the safe zone.
Sugar pulled Ripper up to the edge of the cliff after Sky went, giggling to herself. "Okay, so here's what yer gonna do! You're just gonna close your eyes and leap! It ain't even gonna feel like yer falling!" Sugar directed Ripper.
Ripper closed his eyes, then crouched down to take a dive. "Alright, gonna make a big splash with this one!" Ripper replied as he worked up the courage to jump.
"I bet ye are! See ya below!" Sugar shouted, then pushed Ripper right off the edge of the cliff.
"suggAAAAAAR!" Ripper yelled as he plummeted, eyes wide open as he fell right to the safe zone.
Sugar scoffed, still grinning as he fell. "That boy betta relax, I pushed him to the safe zone anyway! Now I'll go!" Sugar remarked, then jumped down.
Ripper continued to fall, screaming all the way down before he belly flopped onto the water due to how Sugar pushed him. "Ow ow OW!" Ripper yelled in pain from the bellyflop, while Sky winced from seeing it happen right in front of her.
After sinking into the water and surfacing right after, Ripper waved down the motorboat to pick him up, but Sugar landed on top of him before it arrived. "Shoulda moved silly goose!" Sugar told after they both surfaced together.
-Confessional: Ferocious Trout: Ripper-
Ripper kept a tough look on his face, crossing his arms. "Man, Sugar is the worst! And I've only known her for like a couple hours! I'll get back at her for that one, because no one messes with the alpha male and gets away with it! Except the sigma male, but she isn't a sigma or a male!... I think."
-Confessional: Ferocious Trout: Sugar-
Sugar was laughing hysterically in the confessional, kicking her legs in her fit of laughter. "Hahaha! You shoulda seen that boy's face when I shoved him off the cliff! That whippersnapper tried to act all tough and drop his hand, but he's got another thing comin' if he can act tough on mah watch! That goes for anyone on my team, Sugar 'ere don't tolerate none of that!"
-End Confessionals-
Sam winced after seeing how Ripper's dive went, then looked to Trent. "Hey uh, you're not going to do that too right? Cuz that was seriously lame man." Sam asked Trent.
Trent chuckled, shaking his head. "Nah, don't worry man. On one of my tours with my buds, we went rope swinging and one of them was pretty scared about the whole thing, so I'll just have you do what he did to get over it." Trent assured Sam.
"What was that?" Sam asked, now setting his Gameguy down just a bit away from the edge of the cliff.
Trent held both of his hands in front of him, then put them together. "Just hold your hands out like you're a professional. You played a lot of video games right? Just take the same pose those divers do in any of the games you played." Trent advised.
Sam nodded, holding both hands out. "Okay, what next? I was thinking maybe I can just jump from this pose like Murio does in the Olympics." Sam asked, throwing in his own idea.
"Sounds like you got this worked out my man. Go ahead." Trent replied, stepping back.
Sam then let out a cheerful 'wahoo' as he jumped, plummeting down to the safe zone afterward. "Sweet, that wasn't too hard." Trent commented to himself, before jumping as well.
Caleb squatted down to dive, with Bowie crouching down next to him with a big blush. "Here I go!" Caleb declared, then leapt down and dove with great form.
"Man he is fiiiine! What can't he do?" Bowie remarked, then dove after Caleb with even more graceful form than the hunk.
Sam created a big splash as he landed headfirst, followed by Trent landing in the water on his back. Bowie and Caleb went in hands first, far more smoothly than Sam and Trent. "Ta-da! Four easy points for the Trout! Go us!" Bowie cheered after surfacing in the safe zone, now just waiting for the motorboat to pick them up.
-Confessional: Ferocious Trout: Caleb-
Caleb chuckled, resting one arm on his knee. "Bowie seems fun. He's a little out there, but I can tell he's just excited. I don't think I'm quite ready to pursue a relationship with anyone here, I'd like to get to know them all first, but if Bowie turns out to be a great person, I wouldn't mind dating him."
-Confessional: Ferocious Trout: Bowie-
Bowie put one leg over the other, resting a hand on his chest. "I know I can get my head in the clouds a bit just thinking about those hunks, but I'll let you in on a little something that they'll never be in on. You can see any hot guy on the street for free, but a million dollars? Yeah, I know where my priorities lie. So I'm coming for the crown first, then maybe have some fun on the side along the way~"
-End Confessionals-
Eva waited for the four below to get picked up, standing away from the rest of her team as she watched. "What's the matter? Are you scared to jump?" Millie asked genuinely.
"No. Just waiting for the safe zone to clear up." Eva answered bluntly.
"Oh okay! Are you scared that you'll hit something? Do you want to go with me and Brick then? He's going to help me jump too!" Millie offered.
Eva just stared at Millie, narrowing her eyes at her. "I don't need help from anyone. Move." Eva told her coldly, walking past the notetaker as the motorboat drove back to shore.
"I didn't mean it like that, I was just saying that... oh." Millie didn't even get to finish explaining herself as Eva just jumped off the cliff, diving down to the safe zone.
"It's okay, Eva's aura is a bit of a gray, she'll open up eventually." Dawn assured Millie, startling her when she saw that Dawn was standing right next to her.
"A gray aura? Is that good or bad?" Millie asked Dawn in confusion.
Dawn shook her head, frowning at the question. "There are no good or bad colors. They are simply varying states of being. I cannot judge them myself." Dawn stated, putting one palm on her chest.
"What's mine then?" Scary Girl asked with a gleeful smile, startling Dawn when she saw Scary Girl was right next to her.
Dawn looked over Scary Girl to read her aura, but froze up after just a few seconds. Without another word, Dawn just dove off the cliff, leaving Millie with Scary Girl. "Aww, I didn't get an answer! Do you know why?" Scary Girl now asked Millie, tilting her head in a way it really shouldn't go.
"I umm... I can't read auras, so I'm not sure!" Millie replied, holding both hands up.
Scary Girl just stared at Millie intently for a moment, before just nodding. "Okay! I'll go ask Dawn!" Scary Girl exclaimed, then dove off the cliff without another thought.
-Confessional: Ferocious Trout: Dawn-
Dawn shivered, resting both hands on her lap calmly, although her face still looked a bit unnerved. "Lauren's aura, it's unlike any other I've seen. It's making me rethink some of the notions from all my other readings. Is the Age of Aquarius already upon us? I can't imagine such an aura existing if humanity hadn't already taken control..."
-End Confessional-
Beardo's eyes widened as he watched Dawn jump, seeing that she was his partner. He imitated the sounds of chilling winds, feeling much more alone at the top of the cliff. "Ready to jump Lindsay?" Alejandro asked his partner, holding a hand out.
Lindsay nodded, taking his hand. "Okay! I'm ready!" Lindsay answered, closing her eyes and hugging him.
Alejandro put his other hand around Lindsay, and then jumped with her off the cliff. "Keep your eyes closed amiga! We'll be in the water soon!" Alejandro directed her.
"Okayyyyy!" Lindsay did as told, although she still couldn't help but scream as they fell the 1,000 feet into the safe zone.
After they safely landed, Brick now took a deep breath as he prepared to jump. "Okay Brick, you can do this!" Brick pumped himself up.
"Me too right?" Millie asked, somehow looking less scared than him about jumping.
"Oh! Right! You too! Just hold my hand okay? Everything will be alright!" Brick assured Millie with a shaky voice.
Millie raised an eyebrow, now having second thoughts. "Uhh, I think you need the help more than I do. I'll partner with someone else." Millie told him.
Although she was a bit late on that, as the only other person besides Brick on the cliff was Beardo, imitating teeth chattering noises as he hesitated to jump. "Guess I'm just not jumping. Works for me." Millie commented, then began to walk down the hill.
"I-I can't do it either!" Brick conceded, then began to follow Millie, although he looked far more shameful about it compared to her.
"Ooh! Looks like we have three chickens for the Trout! That puts them below the Bass for first place!" Chris announced as he looked at the remaining three.
"What happens if we tie for first?" Trent asked Chris.
Chris paused, lowering his megaphone. "Huh. I didn't think of that somehow. Guess you'll just have to share the advantage! But it doesn't look like that'll be happening anyway!" Chris answered, then pointed to Millie and Brick walking down while Beardo trembled at the cliff edge.
-Confessional: Ferocious Trout: Millie-
Millie wrote in her notebook, not caring at all about wearing the chicken hat. "I'm just here to do research, not get myself hurt! The rest of my generation is dumb enough to jump off a cliff for a chance at an advantage for a better chance to win another dumb challenge for a chance to stay in the game longer for a chance to win a million dollars! That's four layers of chances! I'm better than that."
-Confessional: Ferocious Trout: Brick-
Brick looked on the verge of tears as he wore the chicken hat, his head hung in shame. "My training was for the army, not the navy, so I'm not too comfortable in water. And I let my platoon down! Captain Sky will be so disappointed! And the boys back home cheering for me! I won't let my cowardice get the better of me again!"
-Confessional: Ferocious Trout: Beardo-
Beardo held up both hands, one of them making a flat surface to represent the cliff, while he put two fingers on top of the cliff to represent himself. He had the two fingers leap off, imitating a cartoon whoosh as he did so. He then made a splash, followed by a bunch of sharks snarling and his two finger person keeling over. Beardo then shook his head, his eyes wide with fear.
-End Confessionals-
Beardo watched the other two leave, and now did a quick count in his head. He imitated a bell sound, coming to a realization. "Cowardice invicticus!" Leonard shouted, pointing his staff at him.
"Was that supposed to be a spell?" Cody asked him, raising an eyebrow.
Leonard nodded, smirking deviously. "Not a spell, a curse! Now Beardo will be too scared to jump, securing our lead!" Leonard answered confidently.
Beardo closed his eyes, now making a tick tocking sound of a clock. He then began to sing the instrumental of the Canadian national anthem as he crouched and took a similar pose that Sam had taken, diving off the cliff in his best imitation of an Olympian. "Oh he jumped! Looks like it's a tie for first between the Bass and the Trout!" Chris announced as he watched Beardo fall.
The motorboat had just picked up Alejandro and Lindsay when Beardo landed in the safe zone, splashing the both of them. "Yay Beardo! Did we win?" Lindsay cheered for Beardo, before looking to Alejandro.
Alejandro gestured to Chris, chuckling while Beardo climbed into the motorboat. "Lindsay, Chris informed us that we are actually tied for first. So I suppose we did." Alejandro answered.
"Ooh yay! We did it then!" Lindsay exclaimed, clapping her hands.
"So much for the spell..." Emma mumbled.
"Curse! It was a curse!" Leonard corrected her angrily, now pointing his staff at her.
-Confessional: Ferocious Trout: Alejandro-
Alejandro sighed, still smiling at the camera. "Ah Lindsay. Her mind is far simpler than I thought. If there is anyone here I would take to the finale, it would definitely be her."
-End Confessional-
Chris now aimed the megaphone up at the only team still on the cliff, pointing at them with his other hand. "Lightning Squad! You are up! The score to beat is still 15 points!" Chris announced just as the motorboat dropped off Lindsay, Alejandro, and Beardo.
"Aight let's do this! Time for the Lightning Squad to sha-sweep the game!" Lightning shouted, then right away ran off the cliff and dove down to the safe zone.
MK watched him land in the water, then faced the rest of the team. "Okay it's great he scored and all, but are we actually going to do a gameplan like the other teams did?" MK asked the others.
"Well my plan is to not jump." Heather stated bluntly, pointing at herself. "We have to beat 15 and there are 17 of us, so one of us doesn't have to jump. And that will be me. The rest of you can jump. Go on!" Heather beckoned everyone else toward the cliff edge.
"Nuh uh, who made you in charge of that? 'Cuz I ain't hearin' the jock puttin' you in charge!" Anne Maria protested, glaring at Heather.
"Oh that's easy, I did! Now jump!" Heather demanded, still pointing to the cliff edge.
Shawn walked up to the pair, scratching the back of his head. "Hey, just a thought, maybe we shouldn't argue on the first day?" Shawn suggested.
"Stay out of this, I don't talk to people who look homeless!" Heather insulted Shawn, pushing him away.
Shawn wasn't sure what else to say, so he just awkwardly chuckled and pointed to the edge of the cliff with his thumb. "Okay then, guess I'll jump." Shawn replied, before diving off the cliff without a hint of fear.
-Confessional: Lightning Squad: Shawn-
Shawn had one hand on his knee, his other hand pointing out of the confessional with his thumb. "I've seen enough tribes and towns turn on each other in zombie flicks to know that you should just stay as farrrr away as possible when they start going at it! People start picking sides, and then people start going after people just for what side they picked! Not this guy!"
-End Confessional-
"Ladies ladies, it's pretty clear if anyone isn't jumping, it should be the one with looks on the line." Justin interjected, then winked at them.
"Are you serious?" Heather asked sharply, now narrowing her eyes at Justin.
Anne Maria also turned her anger toward him, shaking a can. "Did you just insult my looks!? Oh you gettin' it pretty boy!" Anne Maria yelled, then began to spray him with the spray tan.
Justin held both hands in front of him, stepping back with his eyes closed as she sprayed him. "No! That doesn't match my shade!" Justin cried out, before tripping backward and falling off the cliff, yelling all the way down as he then landed in the safe zone.
"Are they just going to throw everyone off the cliff..." Gwen muttered, crossing her arms.
"Probably, 'cuz they definitely don't wanna fight each other. That's how it usually goes with these divas, their egos can't handle losing even just a bit." MK remarked to Gwen, snickering afterward. Gwen cracked a smile, but then just walked away.
Anne Maria snapped toward MK, clenching a fist. "Oh you wanna catch these hands!? You next shortie!" Anne Maria yelled as she charged at MK for a punch.
MK just sidestepped though, letting Anne Maria swing, miss, and throw herself off the cliff. "I would catch your hands, but you're currently falling 1,000 feet down a cliff, so that's not really an option! Check back in a bit and we'll see!" MK taunted Anne Maria, laughing to herself.
Anne Maria didn't dive at all though, so she just tumbled right down the cliffside. Her hair hit the rocks, making loud clanking sounds each time. "You're gonna pay OW for this OW beanie!" Anne Maria yelled as she tumbled down, before landing outside the safe zone.
A shark rose up to attack her, but Anne Maria just sprayed it right in the face and made it swim away immediately. "I ain't for touchin'!" Anne Maria yelled at the shark, then swam over to the motorboat to get on with Justin and Shawn.
-Confessional: Lightning Squad: Heather-
Heather laughed for a moment, then proudly pointed at herself. "Guess that settles who the queen of this team is, ME! That ugly girl with the beanie seems to take my side over the fake tan girl, so I definitely should get her on my side and get rid of fake tan as soon as possible. No one is allowed to oppose me on this team, and anyone who tries will be off this island before they know it!"
-End Confessional-
Zoey was hesitating on jumping, with each second she spent looking down at the drop just making her more nervous. "Heather, you're really fierce, I think you should be able to jump just fine?" Zoey reasoned, backing away from the edge now.
"And mess up my hair on national TV? No thanks. Anyone else got stupid reasoning for me to jump?" Heather now looked to the rest of the team, instantly shooting Zoey's reason down.
Beth opened her mouth to speak, but one sharp glance from Heather shut her down. "I'll juth jump!" Beth replied, pleasing Heather as she watched her run to the edge and jump off.
Heather and a few others had to cover their ears at first, since Beth screamed all the way down, clearly terrified. She still landed in the safe zone, putting her screams to an end once she was submerged. "I guess I have no choice either. Better her sitting out than one of the jocks." Zoey commented to herself, then dove off the cliff sloppily.
Zoey still landed in the water hands first, waving to her team once she surfaced. "It's actually not that bad!" she called to them, trying to encourage the more scared players.
"Guess that's go time for the rest of us eh!" Wayne stated, putting his hands on his hips.
"Not everyone wants to go though, what are we gonna do about that?" Raj asked him, gesturing to Cameron, Staci, Owen, and Mike all looking down with fear.
Staci stepped away from the cliff edge, shaking her head. "A parachute or something would be really helpful here yah! Did you know that they were invented by great great great great great great grandfather Louis? Yah, before him people would just jump out of planes and splat on the ground, so sad." Staci rambled, calming herself down by doing so.
Gwen had enough though, covering her ears and just jumping off the cliff. "That's one way to do it. What else did your family invent for jumping?" Duncan snarkily asked Staci.
Staci's eyes lit up in excitement as he asked this, gaining a big smile. "Well my great great uncle George invented trampolines! Yah, before him people would just jump up in the Olympics and fall flat on their face, so sad. He really changed gymnastics so much yah!" Staci continued to ramble.
Duncan nodded along, smirking as behind Staci he saw both B and MK jump off the cliff, nearing wanting to be around. "Uh huh. Why don't you just go and tell everyone else about your family now? I'm gonna jump now." Duncan told Staci, before running ahead and jumping off the cliff himself.
-Confessional: Lightning Squad: Staci-
Staci was giddy with excitement still, holding both hands near her chest. "People are actually interested in my family yah! I knew they'd be impressed! Do you think Duncan would want to be my friend? I umm... don't have a huge problem making them at home. Not at all! But friends here would be nice yah!"
-Confessional: Lightning Squad: Gwen-
Gwen groaned, resting her head on the confessional wall. "Everyone here is so annoying. Why did I even sign up for this show? Everyone is just going along with Heather and Anne Maria bossing everyone, Staci is the most obnoxious person I've ever met, and we have a bunch of annoying jocks on our team. That Mike guy seems pretty normal? Maybe MK too, but the day isn't even halfway over, so they're gonna show how annoying they are too probably."
-End Confessionals-
Staci was about to walk over and talk to Heather when Wayne and Raj both made loud hooting noises, getting the attention of everyone still on the cliff. "Hey everyone! Wayne has a plan to help you all jump!" Raj announced.
Wayne nodded, having a confident smile. "Yeah so here's how we're gonna do this eh! 1-4-1 formation with Rajee on one and me on the other! Then you four take the offensive while we set you all up to drive it into the net! No player left behind!" Wayne laid out the idea.
"Uh, what?" Mike asked, scratching his head in confusion.
Cameron looked a bit confused as well, but he quickly pieced it together. "It's a hockey formation, usually for clotheslining people. But here we just hold hands and... jump. They'll handle the aiming for us and land us in the safe zone." Cameron explained to the others in English.
Owen still looked unsure, but he nodded along with the plan. "Better to jump with a friend than jump alone! Heather, do you wanna join us?" Owen asked Heather, who stood away from anyone else.
"Uhh, no? There's no way I'm doing that! I'm not going to hold hands with these- HEY!" Heather let out as Wayne grabbed her hand, followed by Staci grabbing Heather's other hand.
Everyone else linked up in a row, with Raj on the other end of the row. "Okay! We jump in three, two, one, go go go!" Wayne shouted, with him and Raj jumping at the same time.
"Maybe we should have centered Ow-EEEEEEN!" Cameron let out, being pulled right off the cliff by Raj, followed by a domino effect that took everyone else down. Even Heather couldn't pull away and began to plummet down.
The hand hold chain quickly fell apart, causing the seven teens to just simultaneously fall toward the lake. "You two are SO going down for-" Heather began to yell at Wayne and Raj, but was cut off mid sentence as she landed in the safe zone.
Cameron ended up hitting one of the buoys, groaning in pain afterward. "Is this what pain tastes like?.." he let out as he sank into the water.
Staci dropped into the safe zone just fine, although as soon as she surfaced she began to panic and yelling as she bobbed out and back below the water. "C-Can't swim! Need! Life preserver! Invented by my! Great Great! Uncle John! Yah!" Staci let out, before finally grabbing the orange ring that outlined the safe zone and holding herself above water.
Mike landed outside the safe zone, followed by Wayne and Raj landing in the safe zone together. "Haha! We did it Rajee!" Wayne cheered after surfacing, seeing that everyone was in the water around them.
Raj high fived Wayne, shooting a finger gun at him. "For sure bro! Can't let the captain down!" Raj cheered as well, and the two then fist bumped.
"Look out!" Owen shouted at the two of them, as he was now almost about to hit the water.
The five players in the water all saw Owen and right away began to swim away, although it was a bit too late as Owen collided with the water, creating the biggest splash of the day and even creating waves from it. "Woah! Talk about making a splash! The Lightning Squad has scored all 17 points, and have taken the win for part 1!" Chris announced through the megaphone as the rest of the team washed up on the shore from the splash.
"We won!? Awesome! Nice jump plan dudes!" Owen praised Wayne and Raj as he now swam over to join them on the beach.
-Confessional: Lightning Squad: Wayne and Raj-
Wayne and Raj sat on the confessional seat together, resting their arms on their knees. "During pre season practice, the freshmen usually have trouble getting used to skating and carrying a stick at the same time!" Raj stated with a smile.
Wayne nodded, then pointed a thumb at himself. "So as captain, I usually guide the newbies around the rink eh. Kinda like we did up on the cliff. Not sure what it is, but people tend to listen to me and Rajee! Do you think they're scared of us bro?" Wayne asked Raj, now a little worried.
"Nah bro, you're just a great captain!" Raj assured Wayne, patting his back.
"But Lightning is the captain eh..." Wayne pointed out, scratching the back of his head.
-End Confessional-
With everyone on the beach now, 9 of them wearing chicken hats, Chris stood in front of the teams as Chef just finished dropping off several crates on a forklift. "Alright campers! For part 2 of your challenge, you'll be building hot tubs for me to judge! Everything you need to build your hot tubs are in these crates!" Chris explained the second challenge to everyone.
"That sounds much easier than jumping off a cliff." Dave commented, relieved at a relatively easy challenge.
Chris chuckled, then pointed in the direction of the campgrounds. "Well you aren't building them here! You'll have to take your crates to the front of your cabin and build your hot tub there! You'll only have three hours to do so, and the team that builds the best hot tub gets to rock it for the rest of the season! The team that builds the worst one will send someone home before they even spend a night here!" Chris elaborated on the challenge, now getting a collective groan.
"Lightning's team won the challenge, so what's our advantage?" Lightning asked impatiently.
Chris walked over to the crates, resting a hand on a set of four wheelbarrows next to them. "For winning part 1, the Lightning Squad gets to use these wheelbarrows to take their hot tub supplies to the campground! Should give you guys way more time to make a killer hot tub!" Chris answered, much to the delight of the Bolts.
"And how do the rest of us get our supplies to the campground?" Amy asked, crossing her arms.
Chris laughed, then held up both hands. "Guess you'll just have to carry your crates! I'd get on that fast too, since your three hours start now!" Chris replied, then blew an air horn before hopping back on his ATV with Chef and driving off.

Tyler had a confident look on his face, pointing at himself with his thumb. "I've got great finger and hand strength! As long as a few others do too, we've totally got this! Wheelbarrows? Who needs them anyway?"
-End Confessional-
Tyler crouched down and stuck his hands underneath one of the crates with the Gopher logo on it, then began to pull up. He grunted as he tried to pick it up on his own, before falling backward and clutching his hand. "Ow! Splinter!" Tyler cried out, now trying to pull the wood chip out of his palm.
"Yeah, that doesn't look like a one person job." Blaineley commented, chuckling a little as he struggled.
"Speak for yourself!" Jo told Blaineley, then crouched down and picked up the crate Tyler failed to pick up on her own.
Jo adjusted her posture, leaning back a bit to support the weight of the crate. "I've got this one, you wimps all handle the other 3!" Jo told the rest of the team, before jogging on ahead with her crate.
DJ started to pick up a crate after the order was given, having it even easier than Jo. "I'll take this one, to make up for not jumping. It's the least I can do." DJ offered.
"Aww! How sweet of you DJ! Allow me to help carry the front!" Ella thanked DJ, then stepped in front of him and supported the front end of the crate with both hands while DJ held the back.
She really wasn't helping much, but DJ just gave a thumbs up. "Thanks for the support! Let's make this quick!" DJ thanked Ella, and the two then jogged off together.
Ezekiel walked up to one of the remaining two crates and put his hands underneath it after digging through the sand. "Anyone wanna help with this one eh?" Ezekiel asked for help.
"I gotchu! Anyone else wanna help? Six hands are better than four, and we've got like twenty here!" Damien volunteered, lifting the front end.
"I'll take the middle, let's get moving!" Bridgette then volunteered, putting her hands on the sides of the crate after Ezekiel and Damien lifted it up. The three of them jogged ahead with the crate together.
Geoff began to pick up the fourth one, looking to the rest of the team. "That just leaves this one, any takers dudes?" Geoff asked the rest of the team.
Sierra stepped forward right away to help, and after some hesitation, Dave did as well. "Can't promise much but I'll help." Dave replied, while Sierra just excitedly helped with the manual labor.
"Any help is help! Let's get going! All you other dudes, run ahead and help her start putting the hot tub together!" Geoff directed the others with a smile, to which the others all ran ahead, mostly glad to not be carrying crates.
-Confessional: Screaming Gophers: Dakota-
Dakota was filing her nails, humming to herself and completely unbothered by her chicken hat. "I am so glad we have so many strong people on the team, because then I don't have to do anything! It's great! If I chipped a nail on one of those crates, oh it would be so over!"
-Confessional: Screaming Gophers: Dave-
Dave adjusted his chicken hat, more irked by it. "I know if I jumped nothing would have changed, but I guess it isn't a good look that I chickened out. If we lose, I'd rather it be one of the girls that only care about their looks rather than me on the chopping block. I have a little hunch that they'll probably stick together."
-End Confessional-
"Okay everyone! There are four crates and 17 of us! So we'll have four people take each corner! Let's get moving people!" Courtney ordered, getting some questioning looks in response.
"Woah woah, since when were you in charge? I'm captain! You're just a chicken!" Chase pointed out.
Courtney grumbled, fixing up her chicken hat. "Alright fine! What's your strategy then genius? I'm a C.I.T. so I actually have planning skills." Courtney asked Chase sharply, putting her hands on her hips.
Chase rolled his eyes, then looked to the rest of the team. "Who thinks they can carry a crate on their own?" Chase asked them.
Three hands shot up right away, those being Jasmine, Axel, and Rodney. "I've carried crates like three times this size back on the farm, I should be fine." Rodney volunteered.
"I can do it just fine too, but if anyone wants to help, that'd be great." Jasmine stated.
"I can help then!" Priya volunteered right away, walking up to Jasmine.
Jasmine held out a hand, and Priya fist bumped it. "Guess we got a good pair going then!" Jasmine commented, then lifted up one of the crates with Priya. Due to their height, Priya held the front of the crate over her head while Jasmine held the back end at her waist.
Axel picked up the last crate and struggled for a moment, but adjusted her posture to make it work. "I've got this one!" Axel declared, then began to walk forward with it.
Scarlett was digging through the fourth crate at the moment, having just gotten the lid off. "What are you doing? We're not supposed to be building until we get to the campground." Emma asked Scarlett.
Scarlett soon gasped, then pulled out a few empty metal buckets. "Just as I figured. We are supposed to supply the water for our hot tub. While the others take the crates to the campground, everyone not carrying a crate should be filling up buckets to save time. That way we aren't filling them later." Scarlett explained.
"So who's carrying the last crate then?" Nichelle asked, grabbing one of buckets that Scarlett had pulled out.
Noah chuckled, then pointed at Courtney with one finger, then Leonard with the other. "Why don't we let the chickens do it? Jumping isn't their thing, but maybe this is." Noah suggested with a smirk.
"Oh please, you weren't going to jump either!" Courtney snapped back.
Leonard nodded in agreement, slamming his staff into the sand. "Agreed! Plus, my skills in waterbending will surely prove more useful here." Leonard added.
"But I'm not the one with the chicken hat. Am I?" Noah sarcastically replied, then walked over to the crate and pulled another water bucket out.
As they argued, Sky, Caleb, Eva, and Brick and Trent jogged by carrying crates, with the rest of the Trout right behind them. "Welp, they're getting ahead of us! Guess that means Izzy will handle it!" Izzy declared, diving into the crate and tossing out the rest of the water buckets, before jumping back out and lifting up the crate with ease.
"Guess we're all on water duty then dudes!" Zee commented as Izzy ran ahead with the crate, picking up one of the buckets. The rest of the remaining Bass grabbed buckets as well, heading for the water instead of immediately following the 5 carrying the crates.
-Confessional: Killer Bass: Courtney-
Courtney had both hands on her lap, giving the camera an annoyed look. "Seriously? Throwing this on me? Does a stupid chicken hat really destroy my credibility? I have actual training as a C.I.T., and they should respect that! I can't believe they'd put me on the same level as the wizard!"
-End Confessional-
The first team to arrive at the campground was of course the Lightning Squad, arriving with their crates on wheelbarrows just an hour into the challenge. The crates were dumped onto the grass in front of the cabin with the Frog flag in front of it, followed by the lids being ripped off right away. "We have plenty of time before the others get here, maybe we can just follow the instructions?" Mike suggested, pulling the blueprints out of one of the boxes.
"Whatever is the easiest, we'll just do that." Gwen stated, not all that interested in the challenge.
Shawn reached into one of the crates, pulling out a hammer and a wrench. "This one's got the tools. Guess we really are building this whole thing. Should we follow the manual though? The other teams are gonna be doing that too." Shawn pointed out.
Cameron tapped his chin, before nodding his head. "I have to agree with Shawn here, if we just follow the manual like the other teams will, then our hot tub won't stand out at all." Cameron agreed, elaborating a bit.
"Tho what do we do then?" Beth asked, looking over the manual.
Cameron adjusted his glasses, looking over the manual as well. "There is room to add extra features, so that should be our safest bet! Is anyone else well versed in pool technology? And that's fine with you right Lightning?" Cameron suggested, waiting for captain approval.
"Yeah, sounds like a bunch of nerd stuff, so just let me know when you need some muscle, because the Lightning has got your back there!" Lightning gave the go ahead, then flexed his muscles.
B walked over to the blueprint readers, pointing at himself. "You're good with this stuff? Great! Let's follow the blueprint for now, then we'll add on where we can!" Cameron told everyone, with the Lightning Squad now all digging into the crates.
-Confessional: Lightning Squad: Cameron-
Cameron rubbed one arm, chuckling lightly. "I may not be strong, or prepared for much of anything, but I know my way around a blueprint! Studying robotics and putting together so many models at home has it's perks!"
-End Confessional-
About half an hour later, when the Lightning Squad had now already nailed together the frame of the hot tub, the Trout finally arrived as a whole. The five carrying the boxes set them down, and right away they cracked them open. "Okay, we don't have time to do anything fancy, so let's just follow the instructions the best we can! As long as it's stable, we should be safe!" Sky ordered everyone, trying to stay positive.
"Follow the manual, pff, I do things my own way!" Ripper declared, then grabbed the hammer from one of the crates.
Eva marched right up to him and took the hammer from his hand, glaring at him. "You're following the manual." Eva told him coldly, then walked over to Millie, who was currently reading over the blueprints.
"Or we can do that too." Ripper conceded, humbled once again.
Dawn pulled a bucket out of the crate, waving a hand to get everyone's attention. "There's quite a lot of buckets in here, perhaps some of us should fill them up with water while the rest build?" Dawn suggested.
"Everyone not great at building things, go fill the buckets, that way we use our players wisely!" Sky now directed everyone, looking over the blueprints with Millie as well.
"Yes ma'am! Let's make this quick troops!" Brick obeyed the order, grabbing four of the buckets and running towards the beach.
Katie, Sadie, and Sam just grabbed one bucket each, all following Brick down to the beach. Ripper stayed behind, although one dirty look from Eva was all he needed to grab two buckets and join the water crew instead.
-Confessional: Ferocious Trout: Eva-
Eva crossed her arms, carrying a serious look. "I don't work well with idiots."
-End Confessional-
10 minutes later, the five members of the Bass carrying the crates arrived, and the bucket carriers weren't too far behind. By the time the five had opened the crates and taken everything out, they now had 12 full buckets of water among the rest of their supplies. "Okay, so there's instructions, good. We just follow these and we'll be fine right y'all?" LeShawna commented, picking up the blueprints.
"I'm afraid that's unlikely." Scarlett replied, gesturing to the Trout and the Lightning Squad. "They're following the instructions, and the Gophers likely will be as well. We will have to be creative if we are to avoid elimination." Scarlett stated.
Scott shrugged his shoulders, sitting on the steps on the porch of the Bass cabin. "I dunno, we could just follow the instructions better than they are." Scott suggested instead.
Cameron and B were currently welding something to the side of the hot tub, while MK and Zoey were handing them their other tools and materials. "So if you connect that there, then the current will flow from here to there without touching the water. Outstanding craftsmanship B!" Cameron praised B as they worked.
"Yeah we gunna need to get creative with this. Anyone got ideas?" Nichelle shot Scott's idea down, siding with Scarlett.
"Ooh! We could make it a poisonous hot tub! Like one you'd use to trap people!" Izzy suggested excitedly.
"Then how would we use it? And where would we even get poison?" Emma asked, more worried than anything about the suggestion.
Izzy paused for a moment, then raised a finger. "Wait! I know a guy! I'll be right back!" Izzy exclaimed, then darted off.
"But we're not going to make a poison- aaaand she's gone." Jasmine tried to call to her, but Izzy just disappeared into the woods.
Leonard looked over the blueprints LeShawna was looking over, before an idea popped into his head as well. "We should make our hot tub a wizard's broth! We add enchanting decorations and more ominous fog, it would be truly bewitching, capable of replenishing all kinds of mana with just one dip!" Leonard declared.
"That... actually might work! Like we make it a magical hot tub! It's better than a bland hot tub probably." Priya jumped on the idea.
Scarlett looked confused, shaking her head right away. "I would advise against this, we barely have enough time to put together a stable hot tub if we follow the instructions, let alone decorate it. Perhaps we can just-"
"Raise your hand for magic hot tub!" Leonard cut her off, raising his hand.
Priya, Scott, Emma, Rodney, Zee, Chase, Cody, and Nichelle all raised their hands, astonishing those that didn't raise their hands. "Huh? Do you not realize how stupid you all look!? We're not going to build a magical hot tub!" Courtney protested.
"The majority has spoken, and I'm the captain, so magical hot tub it is!" Chase told Courtney with a smirk, just angering her further.
Axel swiped the blueprints from LeShawna and hopped up on one of the empty crates after the decision was made, pointing at the blueprints. "Alright everyone! I'm taking charge of construction as captain, so everyone get started building NOW! We need 5 people on the frame, 4 people on decoration, 4 people on the internal parts, and 2 more people to fill the remaining buckets! We can't waste any more time standing around!" Axel ordered everyone loudly.
"Understood..." Samey just quietly agreed, picking up one of the buckets so she could just walk away.
-Confessional: Killer Bass: Samey-
Samey sighed, holding her bucket on her lap. "Axel is really reminding me of Amy, and not in a good way. Although I guess there isn't really a good way to be reminded of Amy huh? I hope this hot tub is at least fun to use?"
-End Confessional-
With only an hour remaining, Jo arrived at the campground, dropping her crate down in front of her. The rest of the Gophers weren't too far behind, but seeing the other three teams working was not good for morale. "Seriously!? We're this far behind!?" Jo let out, kicking a nearby rock in frustration.
The other crates were set down, and the Gophers quickly took off the lids to remove their contents. "Well we have instructions to follow? If we work fast enough we should be good." Topher tried to look at the bright side.
Geoff looked over the instructions, then pulled a drill out of one of the crates. "Guess that's what we gotta do then dudes! Everyone grab something and let's get this hot tub made as fast we can!" Geoff encouraged everyone.
Ezekiel pulled a few wooden boards out of the crate, clearly meant for the frame. He saw how quickly the other teams were working, then let out a sigh. "Kinda had a feeling this would happen when you put all the beauty girls on one team eh." Ezekiel commented, not too hopeful.
"Umm, what's that supposed to mean?" Julia asked him, looking up from her phone.
"Girls aren't as strong or brave as guys are. That's why you didn't jump eh. Same for Dakota. Even the gay guy jumped and they're supposed to be really weak like girls. So you're really dragging the team down eh, those wheelbarrows woulda been really helpful." Ezekiel explained casually.
"Say what now?" Bowie asked, overhearing the conversation.
Dakota now marched over after hearing her name, along with just about everyone nearby angrily focused on Ezekiel. "Dude, you cannot say things like that! Recent statistics have actually shown that women under the same training as men perform just as well, so you're not even right scientifically!" Damien pointed out, appalled by Ezekiel's words.
"Well it didn't help our team that the black guys didn't wanna go in the water eh. DJ chickened out and you almost backed out too. Guess my dad was right about you people eh." Ezekiel added, before receiving a swift punch to the back of the head from Jo, while Damien was left speechless at this.
"Evil does not discriminate, that was just vile." Max remarked, glaring at Ezekiel as well.
"Was that not strong to you!?" Jo yelled at Ezekiel, before kicking him while he was on the ground.
Geoff now stepped between them though, holding up both hands. "Woah, woah! That was some seriously messed up things he said, but we can sort this out later dudes. We got a hot tub to build!" Geoff reminded everyone.
"Seriously? I'd rather lose so we can just vote him off!" Dakota argued.
Jo grumbled, reluctantly agreeing with Geoff. "Ugh, I hate the guy too, but we can't lose on the first day. We have ourselves an easy boot for if we do lose though. Get back to work everyone!" Jo demanded.
Ezekiel stood up after that, rubbing the back of his head from the punch. "Uhh, why's everyone so mad eh?" he asked, genuinely confused.
"Oh he's completely delusional, wow." Bridgette commented, just glaring at Ezekiel as she grabbed supplies out of the crate.
-Confessional: Screaming Gophers: Ezekiel-
Ezekiel picked his nose in the confessional, before wiping it on his pants. "Not sure what I did to make everyone so mad at me he. My dad just warned me about the outside world, and those weirdos are just as bad as he said they were. He had some words he wanted me to call them, but I forgot what they were, oops. Maybe if I said the words he wanted, it woulda gone better eh."
-End Confessional-
The next hour zoomed by in a montage, which skipped over most of the details for the sake of hiding the end result. An alarm went off on Chris's watch, letting him know that the time was up. "Okay teams! Hot tub construction time is over! Time to see what you all put together!" Chris announced, walking over to the teams now gathered around their creations.
"Hey guys! I'm back!" Izzy greeted everyone, carrying a vial of some kind of purple liquid.
"Noooo! You are staying far away from the hot tub!" Priya let out, stopping Izzy before she could contaminate their hot tub.
"Oh! A volunteer for judging first! Let's see what the Bass whipped up!" Chris heard the commotion and walked over to the team first.
The Bass's hot tub was dark gray, with paint hastily covering the wood. There was some red mist coming out of the water compared to the usual clear steam, and there were even large bat wings fasted on the steps using the plastic that was meant to be used for the steps. "This is certainly an eye catching hot tub!" Chris remarked as he walked around it.
"Yup! We decided to get a little creative for fun!" Emma exclaimed in response.
"Huzzah! You gaze upon my magical broth, one dip and the truth shall be unveiled, and your energy will be replenished!" Leonard declared, standing beside Chris.
Chris stuck his finger in the water, then winced and immediately pulled it out. "What the heck did you do to the water? It's freezing cold!" Chris asked the team, rubbing his finger.
"In order to create the red mist like this, we wouldn't be able to use the steam, so we took some lipstick and spread the coating through the water, allowing the rising mist to be the hue you see." Scarlett explained, clearly not happy with it.
Chris listened, then nodded his head once she was done. "Interesting choices, definitely stands out from the other three, that's for sure!" Chris commented, then walked away from the Bass.
-Confessional: Killer Bass: Scott-
Scott laughed to himself, throwing an empty lipstick container against the wall. "Yeah, no way we win with that! I only agreed to it because of how horrible of an idea it was! My plan is now in action..."
-End Confessional-
Chris walked over to the Gophers next, who braced for the worst as he walked up. "Wow, this sure is basic." Chris commented, looking over the hot tub. It was very hastily put together. The frame was uneven, it was leaking from the bottom, along with most of the nails not all the way in.
"I put together most of the internals, so the water is actually hot!" Harold stated, pushing his glasses up.
Chris stuck his finger in the water, and it indeed was hot. "That it is!" Chris noted after feeling the hot water.
"Well it's hard to go wrong when you just follow the instructions." Dave added, trying to keep a straight face.
"If this is you following the instructions, I'd be scared to see how you'd do this without them." Chris replied sarcastically, then walked away from the Gophers.
Chris approached the Trout next, much happier when he saw their hot tub. "Now THIS is following the instructions!" Chris exclaimed.
The Trout's hot tub was exactly the same as what the blueprint laid out, with no added features or decorations to it. "Yup! We just worked as a team worked past not having the advantage!" Sky replied proudly.
"It doesn't look scary like the wizard one though..." Scary Girl lamented, pointing to the Bass's hot tub.
"Yeah, I think ours is much better than that." Millie disagreed, and Scary Girl's head snapped right toward her as she said that, reminding her that she should not have in fact said that.
Chris dipped his finger to check the temperature, smiling at that as well. "Not much else to say here, this looks store-bought!" Chris complimented the hot tub, then walked away.
Last up was the Lightning Squad, and Chris looked even more impressed when he saw it. "What do all those things do?" Chris asked as he approached it.
The hot tub was just as clean looking as the Trout's although it also had a diving board attached, a metal button on the side, as well as some kind of interface. "This button right here turns on the jets, if you wanna make it more of a jacuzzi than a hot tub." Cameron answered, pressing said button and causing the hot water to bubble rapidly.
"And this?" Chris asked, pointing to the interface.
B smirked, then pressed one of the buttons on the interface and turned the knob. Smooth jazz music began to play, perfect for relaxing in a hot tub. "None of this was in the instructions, yet I can't imagine a hot tub without these! I gotta have you two work on the hot tub at my place!" Chris praised them.
-Confessional: Lightning Squad: B-
B smirked, then snapped his fingers and shot a finger gun at the camera. He then winked, fully aware of just how well he killed it.
-End Confessional-
Realizing he just made it obvious who won, Chris stepped away from all the hot tubs, standing in front of all four teams so they could see him. "Okay! I think it's pretty clear who won this challenge!" Chris announced, already knowing who won and who lost.
...
...
...
"The Lightning Squad!" Chris announced the winners, raising both arms.
The Lightning Squad erupted into cheers, and the most happy of course was Lightning himself. "Aww yeah! Taking the W on day 1! Our team cannot be stopped!" Lightning boasted.
Chris then looked to the other three teams, who were all awaiting to hear who lost. "Of course, any time there is a winner, there is also a loser! And that loser is..."
...
...
...
...
...
"The Killer Bass!" Chris announced the loser, surprising some.
"We're actually safe?" Tyler asked, a bit confused.
The Trout had already expected 2nd place, so this news wasn't all that surprising to them. "Good effort team, we'll go for gold next time!" Sky congratulated her fellow Trout on being safe.
Chris nodded his head, walking over to the shocked Bass. "You guys at least followed the instructions and made well, a hot tub! These guys made a freakshow bath that I can't even relax in!" Chris laid out his reasoning.
Dakota and Julia were both bothered by this safety, while Ezekiel was the only one to actually cheer. "We're safe for another day eh!" Ezekiel cheered.
"Great..." Amy muttered, glaring at him from a distance.
Chris now faced just the Bass, recoiling from their loss. "Bass, like the other teams, you can unpack your things in the cabins, and I'll see you all tonight for your first elimination ceremony! I'll let this all sink in so you can make your pick!" Chris informed them, then walked away without a care.
-Confessional: Killer Bass: Chase-
Chase sighed, having his arms crossed. "Sucks that we lost, but hey, at least we can get rid of one of the nutcases on the team. And I'll be safe, most importantly! I definitely know who I'm voting for though."
-Confessional: Killer Bass: Zee-
Zee scratched his head, before taking a long sip of soda. "Not sure what happened in the challenge really, but I guess we lost man. Bummer.'
-Confessional: Killer Bass: Scarlett-
Scarlett facepalmed, then lowered her hand to show her annoyed look. "I knew this would fail from the start, but here we are. Leonard and Izzy were completely useless today, but Axel wasn't much better and is a physical threat, while Courtney is a social threat it seems. I have to properly gauge where the vote will fall among these candidates if I am to not waste it."
-End Confessionals-
The Lightning Squad was celebrating their win in their hot tub in the evening, with Lightning, Wayne, Raj, Zoey, B, Cameron, and Owen all relaxing in the water. "You were all great back up Bolts today, and we're gonna get another W tomorrow, you can bet on that!" Lightning congratulated his team.
"Bolts? Is that what we're calling ourselves since your stupid name doesn't have anything else to go off of?" MK asked, leaning against the hot tub and refusing to get in the water.
"It is not stupid, and I decided it myself a while ago! I'm the lightning, and you're the little bolts!" Lightning rebutted, then flexed his muscles towards MK.
"How flattering." Gwen muttered, sitting with her back against the hot tub and just drawing.
Anne Maria hadn't gotten in the water either, just applying hairspray with one hand while looking at herself with her hand mirror. Heather walked up to her though, then tapped her shoulder. "Hey, got a second?" Heather asked her.
Anne Maria lowered her spray and mirror, shooting a dirty look at Heather. "Whaddya want now?" she asked back harshly.
"To call a truce. I got nasty up on top of the cliff, and I think we can agree that we both just didn't want to mess up our looks. Won't happen again. Truce?" Heather offered, holding a hand out.
Anne Maria smirked, then shook her hand. "Yeah I can agree there, guess I got a lil' carried away too. Truce for now, but I ain't takin' a fall for ya." Anne Maria agreed, chuckling slightly.
"Me neither. Just wanted to fix this. See you tomorrow!" Heather replied, then left Anne Maria to her self care as she headed back to the Lightning Squad cabin to unpack.
Over in front of the Gophers' cabin, like the other teams, they were bringing in their luggage from the beach to turn in for the night and unpack. "Think there will be room to set up my keyboard in there?" Harold asked as he walked up the steps.
Topher did a quick look around at the space inside the boys' side, then nodded. "Yeah, should be good. You're a musician?" Topher told him, holding the door open.
Harold nodded, setting his bags down on one of the bottom books. "Among other things, just one of my many talents. Learned at Electronic Steve's Electro Camp!" Harold bragged.
"Huh, you'll have to show me sometime. A gross nerd who is good at music is really marketable for an underdog story on most reality shows. Not this kind of show, but other shows. No offense." Topher explained, tossing his backpack onto the bunk above Harold's.
"Been called worse." Harold replied, then laid down on his bunk.
Max stepped inside the cabin with his backpack, looking at the empty beds to decide which one to take. "Hmm, there are only four bunk beds in here, but 9 guys on our team. Someone must be cast aside for their to be room for me!" Max declared, pointing at himself.
DJ looked the bunks after this was pointed out, then did a quick count. "Guess someone will have to sleep on the floor. I'll do it if no one else wants to." DJ volunteered himself right away.
Dave chuckled, quickly getting an idea. "Hey Ezekiel, mind asking the girls if they have an extra bed?" Dave requested to him.
Ezekiel nodded, then walked out of the cabin. "For sure eh!" Ezekiel did as he was told.
Seeing where this was going, Geoff closed the door behind him, quickly locking it right after. "Nice thinking bro!" Geoff complimented Dave, giving him a fist bump.
Ezekiel knocked on the girls' door, then stepped back and waited for someone to answer. That someone was Amy, who looked ready to strangle him when she saw his face. "Ew! Stay away from us!" Amy yelled at Ezekiel, before slapping him across the face and slamming the door.
That door was locked as well once Amy slammed it in front of him, and when Ezekiel went back to the boys' side, he quickly got confused when he found that it was locked. "Hey, the door won't open eh!" Ezekiel shouted, repeatedly turning the doorknob to no avail.
In the boys' side, they heard Ezekiel knocking and calling to them, but they just ignored it. "So we're just not gonna let him in right?" Tyler asked the others.
"When we send him home, there won't be a bed problem, so don't worry about it bro." Geoff told him, tossing his bag onto the bunk above Dave's.
-Confessional: Screaming Gophers: Topher-
Topher rested one leg on top of the other, chuckling at the situation. "Ezekiel really dug him into a hole on the first day. If we didn't he win, he was a goner for sure. But now that he's on the bottom of the totem pole, he makes for the perfect ally to scoop up. As someone who has seen every show that Chris is in, I know that the people that everyone dislikes are never the first to go. They're desperate for allies, like Chris was on that one cooking show. Buuuut... I'm sure I'm not the only one that knows how valuable Ezekiel is right now, so I won't make any moves just yet!"
-End Confessional-
Nightfall soon came, and the 17 members of the Killer Bass walked through the woods that led to the elimination ceremony together while dramatic music played. The path to the area was lit up with tall torches, although the darkness still gloomed over the team. A raccoon poked its head out from behind one of the trees, watching the players on their way to the ceremony.
The Bass team logo was on a flag just in front of the bonfire pit, which everyone soon walked in front of and took their seats on the 22 tree trumps set up, leaving 5 of them empty. They sat in a row of 9 in the back, and a row of 8 in the front, with Jasmine, Scott, Axel, Nichelle, Cody, LeShawna, Leonard, Noah, and Izzy in the back row while Rodney, Priya, Emma, Courtney, Zee, Samey, Scarlett, and Chase sat in the front row.
Chris had a tray of 16 marshmallows beside him, which sat upon an empty oil barrel acting as a podium. "Killer Bass, welcome to the first elimination ceremony of the season. I'm sorry to say, but one of you will be heading home. Which one? Don't know." Chris greeted the team, staying serious for once.
Chef stood behind him, looking at the faces of the seated Bass. Most looked worried, although Zee and Scott looked fairly relaxed, while Izzy looked plain excited. Chris grabbed the first marshmallow from the tray, tossing it in his hand. "You all will cast your vote on who you want to vote off, and there are certainly options!" Chris remarked, relishing in the suspense.
"Courtney!" Chef now chastised the players, focusing on the C.I.T. first. "You didn't jump, and you started being bossy with the entire team! Even when the majority made a decision, you tried to force your way!" Chef criticized her actions.
-Confessional: Killer Bass: Courtney-
Courtney grumbled, crossing her arms and looking up at the chicken hat still on her head. "Seriously!? This stupid hat really puts me on the chopping block? Even if I jumped we still wouldn't have gotten it! No way they vote me off, I'm a counselor in training!"
-End Confessional-
"Leonard!" Chef moved on to the wizard next, who also had his chicken hat on. "You didn't jump either, and your suggestion for decorating the hot tub ended up costing your team the win!" Chef chastised the wizard.
"I told you all it was stupid..." Courtney mumbled, glaring at Leonard.
-Confessional: Killer Bass: Leonard-
Leonard planted his staff on the confessional floor, looking at the camera fiercely. "I had the majority of the team on my side for that, they chose to walk that path with me! Besides, my spells are too much utility to get rid of!"
-End Confessional-
"Axel!" Chef looked to the survivalist, who was at first confused to be called out. "You took charge of a team after repeatedly being told you weren't the captain! You kicked your own teammates off a cliff, and refused to listen to anyone! Some people here don't like that!" Chef called Axel out.
Noah crossed his arms, giving a sharp look, with Scott smirking and looking her way as well. Axel just ignored them though, facing forward.
-Confessional: Killer Bass: Axel-
Axel gripped the seat of the confessional, having an angry look. "Whatever! I made sure those cowards jumped and took charge of the team to show that they were all beneath me! I did nothing wrong! So there's no way I get kicked off first!"
-End Confessional-
"And Izzy!" Chef looked to the lunatic, whose smile didn't go away at all. "You disappeared for all of the hot tub's construction, and tried to fill it with poison when you got back!" Chef let her know why she could leave, to which she just giggled.
"Silly Chef! It was a scary hot tub, of course we'd use poison!" Izzy replied, although no one else except Leonard seemed to agree with her.
-Confessional: Killer Bass: Izzy-
Izzy just shrugged, having a smile and just crossing her legs as she sat. "Soooo I tried to slip poison in the hot tub, it's not that big of a deal! Besides, the other guys Chef called out did way worse, so I'll be fine!"
-End Confessional-
With the highlights over with, Chef picked up the tray of marshmallows, while Chris got ready to toss the first. "You cast your ballots, and your votes have been counted! If you get a marshmallow, you're safe! If you do not, your time here is up and you must immediately leave the island! Let's begin." Chris went over the rundown of the ceremony, keeping a serious tone throughout.
Chris paused for a bit again, just to let the tension sink in for all the players. "Marshmallows go to..."

...
...
...
...
"Scarlett."
Scarlett raised a hand and caught her marshmallow, then just tucked it into her shirt for later.
...
...
...
...
...
"Chase."
Chase let out a small woop as he was tossed his marshmallow, while Emma just rolled her eyes at this.
...
...
...
...
...
"Noah."
Noah smirked, already having a hand up to catch his vote-free marshmallow.
...
...
...
...
...
"Nichelle."
Nichelle held out both hands to catch her marshmallow, giving a thankful nod as she received it.
...
...
...
...
...
"Rodney."
Rodney sighed with relief as he heard his name, then popped his marshmallow into his mouth right after catching it.
...
...
...
...
...
"LeShawna."
LeShawna smirked and raised a hand to catch hers, then flicked it into her mouth with her thumb.
...
...
...
...
...
"Priya."
Priya pumped a fist in the air as she heard her name, excitedly catching her marshmallow.
...
...
...
...
...
"Samey."
Samey sighed as she heard Chris call her that, then just caught her marshmallow and ate it.
...
...
...
...
...
"Scott."
Scott already knew he was safe, so he just lazily lifted up one hand to catch his marshmallow, then went back to resting both arms on his knees.
...
...
...
...
...
"Emma."
Emma did a little dance with her hands when she heard name, nearly forgetting to catch her marshmallow because of it.
...
...
...
...
...
"Zee."
Zee caught his marshmallow with one hand, holding a soda can with the other. He tossed it into his mouth, then washed it down with more soda.
...
...
...
...
...
"Jasmine."
Jasmine nearly crushed her marshmallow when she caught it, but just flicked it into her mouth right after and savored the treat.
...
...
...
...
...
"Cody."
Cody had been crossing his fingers as he waited to hear his name, then dropped the gesture once the marshmallow was tossed his way, happily catching it with both hands.
"You, are all safe." Chris told those that had marshmallows, now looking at those that didn't have safety just yet. "Next marshmallow goes to..."
Courtney kept her arms crossed, eyeing the third to last marshmallow.
Izzy still looked excited, holding her hands together and waiting in anticipation.
Axel grit her teeth, waiting for her marshmallow with an intense look.
Leonard went through his spell book, looking for a protective spell.
...
...
...
...
...
"Izzy!"
Izzy caught her marshmallow with both hands, then stuck it into her belly button of all places. "Just for storage!" Izzy told the others.
"Next safe is..."
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"Courtney!"
The C.I.T. let out a satisfied sigh, smirking as she caught her marshmallow. "Knew you weren't stupid enough to vote me off."
That just left Leonard and Axel, giving each other wildly different looks. "Figaray from his mighty castle, protect me and eliminate Axel!" Leonard chanted.
"Not gonna help, you're going down!" Axel yelled at him, clenching both fists.
"Settle down! Or I'll have to separate you even further! Kidding, I'm about to do exactly that!" Chris told them, raising up the last marshmallow from the tray. "The final marshmallow goes to..."
Axel stared the final marshmallow with determination, leaning forward a bit as she waited to hear her name.
Leonard had his wand out, pointing it at Axel as he continued to chant under his breath.

"Axel!"
Some gasps fell upon the campers, while Axel let out a triumphant yell as the marshmallow was tossed her way, which she caught and flicked into her mouth with a satisfied smirk. "You need actual skills to survive in the real world, not stupid magic spells! Goodbye!" Axel taunted Leonard, who was left shocked at the result.
"Leonard, it's time to go." Chris told Leonard, walking up to the stunned wizard.
Cutting ahead to the dock, Chris and Leonard walked down together, with Leonard bitterly tapping his staff on the wood. "This is heresy! They'll regret not keeping my magical talents around!" Leonard complained angrily.
"Uh huh, sure they will." Chris replied sarcastically, soon reaching the end of the dock, which had now been hastily repaired.
"They will indeed! For I now lay a curse upon thine former team! They will rue this day, and every day to follow!" Leonard swore, raising his staff up.
Chris just looked up, seeing the Drone of Despair now flying in. It lowered its claw, grabbing onto Leonard's staff and then began to fly off with him. "Doom! Death! Lightning ball! All the worst upon theeeeeee!" Leonard yelled as he was carried away by the drone.
Chris watched as Leonard flew off away from the island, before turning to face the camera. "Wasn't sure how that drone thing was gonna work, but I like it! 1 player down, 67 remain! Will the Bass come back even with a 'curse' placed upon them? Is this the start of the Lightning Squad domination? And will Ezekiel be the next to go? Probably! But stay tuned next time to find out, right here on Total, Drama, Island!" Chris concluded the episode, raising his arms as the camera zoomed out to show the entire island at night.

Author's Note:
And thus, the first elimination is done! Leonard is someone I have very mixed feelings on honestly. He's a joke character designed to be hated and useless and pretty much everything someone who would go far in this game isn't. I like him for the role he serves, but I'm not huge on his character besides that. I would have to dedicate a ton of time to solely him if I was to make him a legit player and probably have him go out of character if he was going to get a full storyline, so he just became the defacto first boot. I rank him at a 47th out of 68, there are better fodder characters that the TD writers have created, and they're still in the game because of that. Don't worry about me playing favorites here either, I'm going for narrative over favoritism by a long mile (Leonard isn't even bottom 10 for me). I hope you all enjoyed this episode, be sure to let me know what you thought in the reviews, join the discord (code on profile) if you want, and I'll see you all next time!
