"Last time on Total Drama..." Chris began the recap of the last episode, standing on the beach right in front of a large glass rectangle with empty bleachers inside, which then cut away to clips from the previous episode. "I woke up the campers up suuuuper early, had them run around a lake, and fed them a sleep inducing feast, all to put them through a brutal Awake-a-thon! Heather started making some early moves, as did some of the boys on the Trout, getting Trent caught up in a whole bunch of crossfires. Despite Damien's attempts to help remedy the problem, Ezekiel sank even further into his problem talk, which tanked his reputation even further! Raj and Duncan buddied up a bit, and Zee just chilled completely unaware of the challenge! In the end, Shawn and Scary Girl failed to stick it out for the teams, sending the Trout and the Lightning Squad to the elimination ceremonies, where Sugar and Justin got the boot after their sneaky ways were exposed! Or did they? Heather and Alejandro sure know how to pull the strings on their team, I'll say that much! Who will come out on top today? And who will sneak their way to the Dock of Shame tonight? Stay tuned to find out right here, on Total, Drama, Island!"
Intro Sequence:
Rock music began and the opening notes of I Wanna Be Famous kicked in as cameras popped up from various places throughout the island. First in front of a bunch of trees, then out of the ground with a gopher on top, then through the window of a bathroom, startling Dave inside, and finally out of a tree and pushing a squirrel out before a film clapper came and transitioned the shot.
Dear Mom and Dad I'm doing fine, you guys are on my mind
The camera zoomed down the Dock of Shame and onto the campground, where Chris was fending off Sierra and Topher pestering him, while Blaineley was trying to take center stage. He pushed Topher aside as the camera zipped by, while Sierra just swooned.
The shot then went up a large cliff where Izzy and an unsure Emma gave each other excited looks before diving down into the water. In the water, Chase was having a good time swimming with Owen until the latter farted, making the former cough from the stench.
You asked me what I wanted to be and I think the answer is plain to see
Above the water, Bridgette and Geoff were sitting on a surfboard together, smiling at one another. That was until B sped by on a speedboat, pulling Ripper along on wakeboard while Scary Girl watched from the boat. The splash knocked the pair off of their surfboard, with Scary Girl and Ripper not bothered one bit, enjoying their time. A dead fish rose from the water thanks to Owen's fart, which an eagle swooped down and picked up, carrying it away.
I wanna beeeeeee famous!
In the woods, Dawn was meditating while Leonard and Beardo were pestering her. The fish from the eagle dropped down by them, and the two immediately fled thanks to the smell, making Dawn smirk while keeping her eyes closed. DJ and Ella were petting the animals in the woods when this happened, and both had to flee as well when the stench made the animals go berserk and attack them. Scott watched all this from behind a tree, laughing to himself. Max laughed at this too, but attracted too much attention and soon had to flee.
I wanna live close to the sun
Further downstream from the forest, Heather and LeShawna were slapfighting each other riding one raft, while Shawn and Jasmine were happily riding together in one behind them. The former two were too distracted and went falling down a waterfall ahead, while Shawn was quick to steer their raft to the river bank, safe from falling.
Go pack your bags 'cuz I've already won
Harold was practicing his karate moves with Axel on a log in front of the waterfall, who was deflecting all of his moves easily while Julia filmed it on her phone, trying to talk to an uninterested Nichelle while doing so. Heather and LeShawna fell in the background, and Lightning quickly stepped onto the log, carrying another log just to show off his strength to Julia's recording. This weight made the log snap, and all 5 of them fell.
Everything to prove nothing in my way, I'll get there one day
Panning to the left, Damien was skateboarding by himself when he crashed into the confessional, knocking Zee out and confusing Zoey who was just about to use it, while MK poked out from behind, messing with the wires.
Further left was the dining hall, where inside Chef was making something disgusting while Wayne and Raj watched in horror, the former much more scared than the latter. Amy and Samey were bickering nearby, so Chef shut them both up by shoving food into their mouths.
'Cuz I wanna beeeeeee famous!
At the counter, Jo, Brick, Tyler, and Eva were having an arm wrestling tournament while Millie and Duncan watched while eating popcorn. The girls beat the boys, with them high fiving as the guys were shocked at their losses.
Zipping past Noah, Scarlett, Cameron and Staci studying together at one of the dining tables, the shot went outside where Katie, Bowie, and Sadie were fawning over Caleb, Alejandro, and Justin suntanning. Heather saw this as she stepped out of the dining hall, and just stormed back inside.
Na na nana nanananana nanananana
Anne Maria was applying spray tan while looking out at the beach when Sky and Priya passed by on a sprint, nearly knocking her over. Ezekiel soon passed by as well, but Anne Maria sprayed him down angrily.
Sam was sitting not far from Anne Maria, playing on his Gameguy. Mike was watching him play, but when the sprinting girls passed by, he gasped and turned into Chester, shaking a fist at them.
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous!
Panning to the Dock of Shame, Rodney was sitting on a crate watching Lindsay help Dakota get her makeup on. Once it was ready, Dakota stepped back and paparazzi swarmed the scene, flashing pictures while Lindsay and Rodney watched in amazement.
Sugar stepped onto the dock, now posing for the paparazzi as well, much to Dakota's annoyance. Courtney arrived to shoo away the paparazzi, but to no avail. Finally, Beth rushed into frame with a flaming baton. She tossed it up, before it landed on the dock and made it burst into flames, sending everyone into a panic.
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous!
The flames from the Dock of Shame transitioned to the bonfire trail on the night sky. Panning down, Gwen and Trent were sitting together at the campfire, leaning in happily. That was until Cody popped out between the two of them, putting hands on both their shoulders. The camera panned out after this, showing the rest of the cast sitting on tree stumps, barrels, and tires, whistling the last few notes of the tune while the words "Total Drama Island" were shown on a wooden sign.
After the intro, the episode started with the sun already well into the sky, panning down to the four team cabins. Since the last challenge had drained everyone, Chris allowed the campers to sleep in this time just so everyone would be ready for today.
In the Lightning Squad cabin on the guys' side, Shawn was the last person to wake up, in the bunk that used to belong to Justin. He sat up and rubbed his head, before immediately freaking out when he realized where he was. "GAH! Who got me!? I've been taken! The zombies are coming aren't they!? Is this our bunker!?" Shawn screamed, putting his hands over his head.
A quick flick on the forehead from Duncan got his attention, with the punk standing next to Wayne and Raj who also noticed him wake up. "Relax man, we just found you sleeping on the ground after the ceremony, so the hockey jocks brought you here to get some actual sleep." Duncan explained, rolling his eyes.
"No need to thank us though, wasn't tough at all eh!" Wayne added, waving to Shawn.
Shawn instead panicked more at this, hopping off the bunk and looking over his arms and legs. "Don't ever bring me in doors man, that's how the zombies get you! Are you nuts?" Shawn let out in exasperation.
"Pretty sure we're people eh." Raj replied, not getting it.
Cameron now chimed in, hearing the mention of zombies. "Scientifically speaking, there is no risk of these 'zombies' getting you. They're simply a work of fiction and the closest thing we have are parasitic fungi, which can't even take over mammals to begin with. So nothing to worry about!" Cameron assured Shawn.
"Yeah, what the nerd said." Duncan agreed with him.
"That's what the government wants you to think!" Shawn shouted, before marching for the exit. "Next time you see me sleeping outside, don't bring me in! Trying to survive here!" Shawn added, before slamming the door on the way out.
Lightning was doing pushups on the floor as Shawn stormed out, scoffing at his behavior. "Man, that dude is sha-crazy! Zombies, and the guy can't even say thanks? Y'all should've voted him off with me last night!" Lightning complained, then standing up.
"If we lose again, I guess we can?" Mike just indifferently agreed with Lightning, not wanting to stir up trouble.
"You better, 'cuz I ain't gonna have us lose thanks to some sha-crazy people on my team!" Lightning reffirmed, before storming out of the cabin as well.
-Confessional: Lightning Squad: Duncan-
Duncan leaned back with his arms crossed, chuckling. "Shawn is definitely insane, but he lasted longer than any of us, so I'll cut the guy some slack. The dude is still way more sane than half the people I've met in juvie."
-End Confessional-
In the Trout cabin on the girls' side, Sky had finally woken up and stretched, still a bit tired. She rubbed her eyes and got her shoes on, trying to fully wake herself up. "Huh, where's Scary Girl? I thought she'd still be asleep after staying up the longest." Sky asked the other girls in the cabin.
Katie and Sadie were doing their makeup at the moment, and both looked towards the top bunk Scary Girl usually slept in, just to see that it was empty. "I guess she already left." Katie observed.
"Maybe she doesn't need sleep? She's reallllly weird, like so weird, so maybe she just doesn't?" Sadie guessed, a little unnerved.
Katie nodded in agreement with her. "Ooh, like a vampire! But like, not the hot dreamy kind, the weird psycho killery kind." Katie added, shuddering at the thought.
Sky sighed, rubbing her eyes again. "Just let me know if you see her, I have something I want to say to her." Sky told them tiredly.
"What is it?" Scary Girl asked, standing right behind Sky.
Katie and Sadie yelped, and Sky jolted fully awake as she turned around, shocked that she didn't notice her earlier. "Woah! Where you standing behind me the whole time!?" Sky let out.
"She's been there the whole time, shoulda just turned around." Eva remarked, lifting some dumbbells as she walked past the girls and out of the cabin.
Sky just took Eva's word for it, then looked to Scary Girl again. "Anyway, I just wanted to congratulate you on lasting the longest again. You and Alejandro both outlasted me, so as captain I should give you props for that." Sky praised Scary Girl.
"Oh, was that it?" Scary Girl asked, sounding disappointed almost.
"Well, yeah, that was it. On my gymnastics team, we just praised everyone that did well, so you deserve it." Sky replied, holding up one finger and circling it around to make a team gesture.
"Okay! I'll go find Dawn then, bye!" Scary Girl just accepted it, then happily skipped out of the cabin. Dawn was hiding under her blankets at the moment, letting out a sigh of relief when she heard Scary Girl leave.
Lindsay joined Katie and Sadie in doing their make up, giving Sky an odd look once Scary Girl left. "How come you're talking to Laura? She's like, really creepy. And the makeup she has on? I think she put on a little too much foundation." Lindsay commented.
Sky frowned seeing the stigma Scary Girl had already brought on herself, which was seemingly shared by all the girls on the team. "Hey, she's just as important as everyone else is on this team! We aren't going to do well if we isolate people or treat them unfairly! Even if she does seem a bit... odd." Sky stated firmly.
"But you do see that she's weird right?" Millie asked to confirm, writing in her notebook.
"Maybe, but she did best in the last challenge, so she's more than earned her place here!" Sky defended Scary Girl, before just marching out of the cabin.
-Confessional: Ferocious Trout: Sky-
Sky had a frown, shaking her head in disapproval. "Has no one else on our team ever had to work with others before? The way they're just so open about how they find Scary Girl weird isn't right, and if our team is going to actually win challenges together, then they can't be carrying such judgmental attitudes like that!"
-Confessional: Ferocious Trout: Millie-
Millie was writing fast in her notebook, in a very good mood. "Wow, I know I said Tyler was a gold mine, but Scary Girl is a walking anomaly! She can take the most simplest of actions and make them the weirdest things possible! How did our generation make people like her? That's beyond me!"
-End Confessional-
In the Screaming Gophers' cabin on the guys' side, Ezekiel woke up last, although his extreme lack of sleep over the last two days didn't seem to be taking a big toll on him. "G'morning homes." Ezekiel greeted the rest of the guys.
The other guys on the Gophers had been courteous enough to let Ezekiel stay in the cabin last night for winning the challenge, although they still weren't super jazzed to see him. Tyler just gave Ezekiel a weirded out look before leaving the cabin, while Harold at least waved. "Good morning fellow competitor." Harold greeted Ezekiel, before also leaving.
The guys had been chatting amongst themselves before Ezekiel woke up, but things had gone cold right after that.
"I'm going to grab lunch, anyone else coming along?" Geoff asked the others, seeing the downed mood.
"An evil mind operates best on a full stomach! I shall!" Max declared, walking up to the door with Geoff.
Topher also followed, fixing up his hair in the mirror first. "Hopefully lunch has more antioxidants than breakfast, the food here is not good for my looks!" Topher complained, although he still carried a suave smile.
"Count me in too man!" DJ took up Geoff's offer, opening the door and holding it open for everyone else.
Damien also followed, giving Ezekiel a disappointed look as he passed by his bunk and headed out. "Chef's food is probably better than hanging around here." Damien commented, getting a few chuckles out of the others.
That just left Ezekiel with Dave, who decided to stay behind. "Weird eh, I wake up and they all start leavin'. Almost like they don't like me or somethin' eh." Ezekiel remarked to Dave, now picking his nose.
Dave rolled his eyes, looking at Ezekiel with contempt. "Yeah, they totally don't." he replied sarcastically.
Ezekiel was further confused by this, not understanding sarcasm at all. "But it feels like they do for some reason eh. Are you trying to lie and scam me yo? I know your people like that to do that eh." Ezekiel asked Dave skeptically.
Dave scowled, then stood up from his bunk and walked to the door. "I was going to wait and see if the others got food poisoning, but Damien is right, the germy food probably beats hanging around here." Dave told Ezekiel, then stepped outside.
Ezekiel nodded in agreement, hopping down from his bunk. "Of course it's better eh, ain't anyone to hang out with here!" Ezekiel agreed with Dave earnestly, before jogging to catch up with him.
-Confessional: Screaming Gophers: Dave-
Dave rested his head on his palm, looking both bored and frustrated. "I thought a lot of the people here were weird or crazy, but I'll take them just being annoying weird than just walking pieces of garbage like Ezekiel. How did he even get past the screening process for this show? They wouldn't pick someone as racist and sexist as him for ratings would they?"
Dave paused for a moment, then remembered who probably put together the cast. "Oh they absolutely would..."
-End Confessional-
In the Killer Bass cabin on the girls' side, Axel was the last girl to wake up, and had already missed breakfast like the other late sleepers had. "Oi, was wondering when you'd wake up." Jasmine greeted Axel, noticing her wake up while she was talking to Priya.
Axel looked outside, then gasped as she saw where the sun was. "It's already past noon!? Rrrrrrgh, I can't skip out on meals like this!" Axel yelled, getting dressed in a flash and then sprinting out of the cabin, knocking over Scarlett reading a book in the process.
Emma helped Scarlett up, then handed her book to her. "I wonder what's got her so worked up... I thought she'd be happier after we won yesterday." Emma pondered.
Scarlett adjusted her glasses once she stood up, shrugging her shoulders. "She seems to operate on an entirely different routine than the rest of us. Not one that I can logically comprehend, that's for certain." Scarlett observed, opening her book back up.
Seeing her start reading again, Emma peered at the page she was reading, which had no pictures, only plain text. "So, what are you reading?" Emma asked Scarlett curiously.
Scarlett showed Emma the cover, which Jasmine saw and right away recognized. "That's the book Chris put a bunch of us to sleep with last night. You snatched it from him?" Jasmine questioned Scarlett.
Scarlett chuckled, shaking her head. "Of course not. I simply asked for it after the challenge. Seems that we won't be repeating challenges, as he handed it right over. I do love a good history textbook. Even if it's the same facts, reading them from an even slightly different perspective and cross comparing will always be fascinating." Scarlett answered, gushing over the book.
"I know right?" Priya agreed with Scarlett, standing beside Jasmine. "At least, from what I've read it's cool." she toned down her agreement right after.
"You're a textbook nerd too? Heh, didn't take you for the type." Jasmine remarked, looking down at Priya.
Priya shook her head, holding up both hands. "I've skimmed some medical textbooks, but nothing much. Reading takes up training time, so I can't waste time like that! Speaking of which, gotta go for my afternoon run, see ya!" Priya answered, then jogged out of the cabin.
"Izzy has read plenty of medical textbooks too!" Izzy chimed in, backflipping into the spot Priya was standing in.
"I seriously doubt that." Courtney gave her input, doing her eyelashes in the mirror.
Izzy pointed a thumb at herself, not at all irked by Courtney's comment. "Yeah, I used to go to med school! Got kicked out though, they don't like it when you start chopping off all the corpse heads! Something about disrespect and them being generous donations wasted, but that's lame!" Izzy explained, making a cut motion across her neck.
Nichelle took a few steps away, having been doing her makeup in front of the mirror right beside Courtney. Samey looked down from her bunk at Izzy with a puzzled look as well. "Umm, that is disrespectful." Samey pointed out.
"See? It's just blah blah disrespect! I thought you guys would be more fun that! Whatevs, I'll go check on Cheffy and see if he's in a fun mood!" Izzy complained, before gleefully running out of the cabin, leaving everyone else to share confused looks.
-Confessional: Killer Bass: Courtney-
Courtney had both hands on her lap, staring firmly at the camera. "Izzy is a wackjob, but she isn't a useless wackjob. At least not yet. We won the last challenge, but only because of Axel and Zee... two more wackjobs. Point is, I'll put up with the weirdos if they keep winning challenges for us! But if any of them start costing us challenges, then you know exactly who is going home that day!"
-End Confessional-
A little bit later into the afternoon, the teams were having their gray slop lunch served by Chef, all sitting at their respective team tables. Trent passed by the Lightning Squad table and gave a quick wave to Gwen, before going to sit with the Trout at their table.
Each table had a tablecloth over it that matched their corresponding team color, just in case anyone was dense enough to forget what team they were on. Zoey set her tray of slop down next to Gwen's and across from MK since a lot of the guys were bunched together at the other end of the table. "Are you two friends or something?" Zoey asked Gwen curiously, having seen the wave.
Gwen just shrugged, absentmindedly stirring her spoon in her slop. "Eh. Just talked with him yesterday since there wasn't anyone else to." Gwen answered dully.
"Is that how making friends works? You just go up and talk to people?" Zoey asked Gwen, glancing over at Trent sitting down with the guys at his table.
Gwen raised an eyebrow, now looking toward Zoey. "Yeah? You haven't made friends before?" Gwen replied in skepticism.
"Um, of course I have! Just... not here. Was wondering if it was different here than where I'm from." Zoey corrected herself, giggling awkwardly afterward.
MK smirked, resting an arm on the table she faced Zoey. "Yeah yeah, totally saved yourself with that one. I bet I could count all the friends you have right now on my hand." MK remarked, holding up one palm.
"Hey! I have lots of friends! Take a guess at how many you think I have! You'll see how wrong you are!" Zoey got defensive, frowning at MK.
Instead of actual holding up a number though, MK just had her hand disappear into her coat sleeve, still smirking at Zoey. "Ugh... I didn't even say anything to you!" Zoey complained, before standing up and leaving, opting to sit with Mike and Owen instead.
"Aww come on, that was a good one!" MK let out, keeping a playful tone. Gwen just rolled her eyes, then kept on swirling the slop in her bowl.
-Confessional: Lightning Squad: MK-
The confessional started with the camera glitching out a bit, as MK had dismounted it and was doing something to it. Once she saw it was rolling, she chuckled, waving to it. "Oh hi, thought I was gonna come in here and say I feel bad about Zoey or something? Nah, not gonna happen. Just here to see how the confession camera... WORKS!" MK let out as she then yanked the USB output out of the back of the camera, now holding the end in her left hand.
"Boom baby! We are so morbin here! Here's the dealio though..." MK exclaimed, then pulled out a purple phone which turned on to a wallpaper of Julia taking a selfie. "I'm gonna use this phone I took from Julia the other night to download and watch everyone else's confessionals!" MK explained, with a download progress bar now appearing on the notification tab of the phone.
Once the download finished, MK plugged the USB output back in, stuffing the phone in her pocket afterward. "Oh and just to be clear, I only wanna hear what everyone else is saying. I'm gonna fast forward through all of the pooping, I'm not a weirdo." MK assured the viewer, getting close to the camera again.
-End Confessional-
Zee was the last person to walk into the mess hall for breakfast, his eyes now carrying bags beneath them as the lack of sleep finally caught up to him. "Duuude... I hope we have a challenge today. I stayed up for like two days and we didn't get anything, really wack yo." Zee complained droningly, before sitting down next to Cody at the table.
"But, we did have a challenge? It was to stay awake the longest. You won that." Cody pointed out.
Zee blinked, putting the dots together in his head. "Ohhhh. That was the challenge?" Zee asked, scratching the back of his head.
"You didn't know that was the challenge? Oh you've gotta be kidding me..." Scott mumbled, having no problem eating the gray slop in front of him.
Chase chuckled, giving an elbow to Scott. "Hey, we still won the challenge and Emma is still in the game, I'd say that's a pretty big win for us all!" Chase reminded them, then winked over at Emma sitting with the girls.
Emma glared at Chase as he did this, then scooped up some slop from her bowl. "Why do you care if I'm still here!? We aren't dating!" Emma yelled, before hurling the scoop of slop right at Chase.
Chase ducked as she did this, so it ended up hitting Rodney's shoulder instead. He was perfectly fine eating the slop as well, and he then smiled over at Emma when he saw where it came from. "Wow... thanks for sharing Emma!" Rodney thanked her, before scooping the slop off his shoulder and eating it.
Emma grunted, throwing her spoon against the table in frustration. "Ugh, why are boys so lovey dovey!? I hate it!" Emma complained angrily.
LeShawna looked at Emma's anger with wide eyes, before scooting a little closer to where she was sitting. "I ain't ever seen a white girl this angry, what'd he do to you anyway?" LeShawna asked, glancing over at Chase.
"I don't want to talk about it right now, ugh... why did we have to be on the same team..." Emma groaned, slumping forward a little.
LeShawna didn't question it any further, just patting Emma on the back as she slumped. "Hey girl, I know he hurt you badly, so if he tries givin' you anymore trouble, just let me know and I'll be all over it, got it?" LeShawna told Emma firmly.
Emma perked up hearing this, a small smile now forming. "Really? You mean it?" Emma asked, just to be safe.
LeShawna nodded, smiling back at Emma. "Of course, I ain't gonna let a boy keep you miserable here." LeShawna answered confidently.
"Eee! You're the best LeShawna! I'll be sure to let you know then!" Emma exclaimed, to which LeShawna gave a thumbs up.
Chris then walked into the mess hall, seeing all of the contestants sitting at at the tables and only some of them eating their lunch. "Good afternoon campers! Hope you are all rested up after your lack of rest last challenge!" Chris greeted everyone, chuckling afterward.
"Oh yes we are! Our sleep was immaculate!" Ella exclaimed, smiling at Chris.
Dakota nodded in agreement with her. "Yeah, I needed my beauty sleep after that challenge for real." Dakota agreed with her.
"Oh cram it wannabe, you didn't even last that long!" Jo insulted Dakota.
"Is wannabe the best you could come up with?" Julia asked, currently on her phone taking a picture of her slop.
Jo waved a hand in dismissal, shaking her head. "Nah, she just isn't worth it." Jo responded with a smirk.
Dakota crossed her arms, now avoiding looking at Jo. "Like I care what you think with your fashion sense!" Dakota retorted, although her bitterness did not reflect that.
"You aren't doing so great either sweetheart." Blaineley pointed out. "Pink on pink? I expected better honestly. Like look at Nichelle. She's got pink on blue, both in pastel. Now that's coordination." Blaineley elaborated, gesturing to the Bass table.
Before Blaineley could continue though, Chris interjected. "Listen up campers! Your next challenge begins in 10 minutes! And be prepared to bring it! Meet me at the sports court on the beach pronto!" Chris ordered everyone, then walked out of the mess hall with Chef.
"The what on the what now? Since when was there a court on the beach?" Sky asked in confusion as he left.
Bridgette shrugged, getting up from her seat. "It's towards the other side of the island, I found it last evening when I was looking for surfing spots. I can lead the way!" Bridgette offered everyone, then began to walk toward the exit. The Gophers all left first following Bridgette, soon joined by the other three teams.
-Confessional: Lightning Squad: Cameron-
Cameron rubbed one arm a little nervously, looking at the camera wincing. "Sports, it's not really my area of expertise at all. Because of my bubble, all I ever did for gym credits was lean back on my couch. The plastic wrap made it a little tough, but that was about it. There's a lot of athletes on our team though, so we should statistically do well here, I hope!"
-End Confessional-
Cutting to the beachside sports court, there were four sets of bleachers, each having a team banner over them to indicate where to sit. In the center was a referee chair, where Chef was currently seated in an umpire uniform. Dodgeballs were in a pile right in front of the chair, which the campers took note of as they entered. "Haven't played dodgeball since middle school, but I crushed it back then!" Tyler bragged as he saw the dodgeballs.
"I just hope they washed those dodgeballs..." Dave muttered, walking beside Tyler as they went into the court.
Everyone took their seats at the indicated stands, with the Bass arriving last and taking their seats. Zee meandered into the court and over to his team's stands, before just falling forward and laying down in the front. "Guess not sleeping for a while makes you pretty woozy dude..." Zee mumbled.
"Should we just let him sleep through this challenge? He did win for us after all." Cody suggested as Zee closed his eyes.
"Sounds fair to me, he can chill out today." Chase agreed with the idea, then high-fived Cody.
Chef blew his whistle, shutting everyone up as Chris entered the court now that all the teams were seated. "Today's challenge is the classic game of dodgeball!" Chris introduced the challenge, picking up one of the balls. "The first rule of dodgeball is-"
"To dodge the ball! It's in the name, duh!" Ripper butted in.
"Wow... that's like, really smart! You knew what it was before he even said it!" Lindsay praised Ripper, eyes wide in amazement.
Ripper chuckled, pointing at himself. "Heh, I get that a lot! Things come quickly to the alpha!" Ripper boasted, with Alejandro just facepalming.
Chris rolled his eyes, tossing his ball in one hand. "As I was saying... if you get hit with the ball..." Chris then hurled the ball towards the standing players.
"AAGH!" Tyler yelled as he was hit in the face, falling to the ground from the impact.
"...You're out! Dave, pass me the ball!" Chris requested, seeing as he was near the ball.
Dave tensed up right away, looking at the ball as if it was drenched in poison. "Umm, do I have to?" Dave asked nervously.
Topher picked up the ball before Dave could get an answer, shaking his head. "Such a shame, I'd love to fulfill a request of our righteous host! I'll do the honors Chris!" Topher remarked, then tossed the ball back to Chris.
Chris then caught the ball with both hands. "Thank you Topher! If you catch the ball, the thrower gets sent out, and the person who caught it gets to bring another team member out onto the court!" Chris explained, gesturing to the benches.
MK let out a fake yawn. "So we're just throwing balls around and going back to gym class huh? Suuuper good TV stuff man." MK complimented the challenge sarcastically.
"I mean it ith a little tough..." Beth whispered to her, a bit doubtful about the challenge.
Chris narrowed his eyes at MK, before just putting on a grin again. "Huh, guess some of you will have an easy time then! Maybe we can ramp things up as the challenge goes on if this is too easy for all of you!" Chris retorted, making a mental note for the future.
Chris looked for someone who would actually be good at the challenge now, and made up his mind quickly. "Chase, try and throw this back at me on my mark!" Chris requested, throwing a ball to Chase.
Chase effortlessly caught it, giving a thumbs up to Chris. Chef tossed Chris another ball, which he held in front of him. "If you're holding a ball, you can use it to deflect a ball, but if it knocks the ball out of your hands..." Chase then threw the ball at Chris which he let knock the ball out of his own hands. "...You're out."
Dakota closed her pocket mirror, now a bit worried since Chris had finished explaining the rules. "Okay, so what if the balls hit our face like they did to Ty... uh... that guy. The pretty people don't have to do this right?" Dakota asked worriedly, pointing to Tyler rubbing his face as he stood up.
"Oh, everyone will be going up once! Each team will put together groups of six that will go against the other teams. Every team plays against every team once, and whoever has the worst performance across their three matches will have to vote someone off tonight!" Chris explained who would play, snickering as he saw some get uncomfortable.
Scarlett raised a hand, already knowing how many were on her team. "Pardon me, but we're a team of 16, as are the Trout and Bolts, 6 does not multiply evenly into 16." Scarlett pointed out.
"But like, you just add a 1 to the 6 and you got 16 brah." Zee pointed out, then took a sip of his soda.
"See, some people are real mathematicians here instead of posers." Noah sarcastically remarked to Scarlett, almost making her crack a smile.
"I'm a magician?" Zee asked, quickly growing excited.
Chris shook his head, then held up four fingers. "Correct, three teams here only have 16 players! So your first two groups will have 6 players, and your third group will have 4! As for the Gophers who have yet to lose, your last group will have 5 players! A little bonus for avoiding elimination so far!" Chris answered, with Damien and Geoff fist bumping each other at this news.
Chris pointed to his watch, now walking to the opposite side of the court to sit in his own referee chair. "You all have 5 minutes to pick your groups, and we'll get on with our first match!" Chris informed them, allowing the teams to plan things out.
-Confessional: Screaming Gophers: Jo-
Jo crossed her arms, one eyebrow raised. "So what if our last team gets one more person? We'll crush our first two matches anyway. I destroyed nerds back in gym class at dodgeball, so it'll be no different here!"
-End Confessional-
All the teams sat down in their bleachers and bunched up, keeping to themselves for the most part. With the Bass, Jasmine was the first person to speak up. "Alright Bass, what are you lot thinkin'? We gotta be open to all ideas if we're gonna work well as a team." Jasmine opened the dialogue.
Chase frowned, giving Jasmine the stink eye. "Not sure if you remembered, but I'm the captain of this team. Which means I make all the decisions, Chris said so." Chase reminded Jasmine, much to her chagrin.
"Got any bright ideas then?" Emma asked him immediately.
Chase went silent for a moment, before just shaking his head. "...well no. But as captain, I'm willing to hear out other ideas, it's what a good captain does after all." Chase replied smugly.
Both Emma and Jasmine were already annoyed with him, but Scarlett now raised her hand to pitch something. "The other teams may try to start off strong, so I hypothesize that if we send all of our weakest players first and throw our first match, we'll be able to easily win the other two and avoid a ceremony." Scarlett suggested.
"My team does NOT throw challenges! Have some pride!" Axel protested at Scarlett.
"Your team? I think you mean my-" Chase began to correct her.
"We get it, you have the captain position!" Courtney cut him off. "Scarlett's plan sounds good, we don't need to get first anyway, we just have to not be last. Anyone feel like they belong on the weak starting team then?" Courtney agreed to the plan, now looking for volunteers.
Axel was furious now, pointing at herself. "It does not sound good, and I should be the captain of this team! I've prepared for survival the longest and I won the challenge for us last night, so I get to pick the groups!" Axel demanded.
"Geez throw a tantrum much?" Cody commented, scooting away from Axel.
Seeing there was no pleasing her here, Jasmine sighed and gave in. "Will you quit makin' a fuss if we let you pick the third team then?" Jasmine asked Axel.
Axel thought it over, before letting out a huff and nodding. "Sounds good. Rodney, Nichelle, Courtney, you're with me! We'll take a hard hitting victory!" Axel declared her group.
"As if I'm working with you. I'm going on the second team!" Courtney right away shot that down.
"Fine, Sammy, you're with me!" Axel pointed at the cheerleader, who was a little surprised at this.
Seeing they were low on time, Scarlett now spoke up again. "Our weaker players physically are Cody, Zee, Noah, and myself, everyone else looks adept. We just need two more to round it out, so Chase and Priya, are you two fine with joining us for the first match?" Scarlett laid out the first team.
"Of course! We might just be able to win our first match like that!" Priya answered confidently.
"Yup, adding the strongest with the weakest, good call!" Chase gladly accepted the position.
Since two groups had already been decided, LeShawna now gestured to everyone who hadn't been picked yet. "Guess that makes the rest of us the second team huh?" LeShawna pointed out.
"Yup, and we'll kick butt together, right gang?" Jasmine answered, also confident.
"Totally." Scott answered, snickering at the whole conversation.
-Confessional: Killer Bass: Scott-
Scott rested his hands behind his head, a sly smirk on his face. "I might not even have to throw this challenge, there's about 5 different chumps here who all wanna play captain. Makes it even easier to just pick them all off when they're this divided!"
-Confessional: Killer Bass: Samey-
Samey was still a bit confused, twiddling her fingers. "Axel wanted me on her squad? With Rodney and Nichelle? Those two are like, beyond strong! So why me? I'm not good at much of anything really, Amy is the talented one after all."
-End Confessionals-
With the Gophers, Jo just right away took charge. "Listen up everyone, we're going to start strong and pulverize all the other teams immediately!" Jo declared firmly.
"Pulverize! Yes! That sounds delightfully devilish!" Max cheered, already loving the plan.
"How are we going to start strong then? We don't know the players the other groups will start with." Bridgette pointed out.
Jo gave a wave of dismissal to that. "Who cares, as long as we use our strongest players first, we'll build momentum and make ourselves look more intimidating to the other teams, so our last team might not suck as bad! We've got an extra player to spare anyway!" Jo explained her plan.
"Wouldn't intimidating the other teams be mean though? We're just playing a lovely game of dodgeball here." Ella somewhat objected, before standing up and clearing her throat. "Why hurt, and throw~, when we can dodge, to and fro~!" Ella now sang.
"Because you have to get all the other players out to win. Sorry girl, I ain't much for violence either." DJ reminded Ella with a slight frown.
Ella sighed and sat back down, nodding her head. "If the game wills it..." Ella conceded.
Jo was glad she stopped singing already, and now began to point at people to make the groups. "Me, Amy, Tyler, Damien, Geoff, and Julia, we'll go up first! Bridgette, DJ, Dave, Topher, Sierra, and Dakota, you're up second! The rest of you chumps will be the last group!" Jo laid out the teams firmly.
Max's excitement for the plan vanished here, now offended at Jo's group choice. "How dare you! You haven't seen what I'm capable of! My villainy is surely the most powerful here, and our opponents will tremble in fear the moment I'm on court!" Max declared, pointing at Jo.
Jo rolled her eyes, getting up from the bleachers. "We've seen enough of you already. Save the 'villainy' for the last round." Jo dismissed Max as she walked away to go give Chris their groups.
"Aw yeah, starter as always!" Tyler exclaimed, plenty proud to be chosen first, as was Amy.
-Confessional: Screaming Gophers: Amy-
Amy grinned, looking at her nails for a moment. "Of course Jo recognizes I'm one of the strongest on the team, duh. If Samey was here to make me look bad, then maybe I'd be on one of the other groups, but I'm amazing on my own so it was a no brainer. God, to think someone who looks just like me but uglier is so much worse at everything than me! I bet she's on the third group for her team, that's how bad she is!"
-End Confessional-
With the Trout, things were a little more peaceful as Sky was leading the discussion. "Okay, the other teams are being pretty loud, so they might all be fired up. Does anyone have special experience with dodgeball?" Sky asked her team, hearing the commotion.
Katie's hand shot up excitedly, with Sadie pointing at her friend as well. "Katie was captain of our dodgeball team in school, so she'll be perfect for this!" Sadie exclaimed.
Katie nodded her head, giddy with excitement. "Totally perfect! The other teams won't see us coming!" Katie added confidently.
"Good, perfection is what we need! So, what's the game plan then? I'll let you take the reigns here." Sky asked Katie, now taking a seat to let Katie do the talking.
Katie looked over the team, who were all now looking to her for guidance. "OMG, all of you are listening to us, that's so cool. But anyway, when we went up against other schools, we made sure our groups were even in strength. Can't have any weak link groups! So if we just evenly split our strong players to have them cover our weak players, we'll like so totally win this!" Katie laid out her plan.
Ripper chuckled, then pointed at himself. "Obviously I'll be one of the strong players!" he boasted.
Dawn nodded in agreement with Ripper, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Your strength in this challenge will be helpful certainly! The glory of victory may somewhat make up for your lack of praise as a child as well." Dawn told Ripper with a smile.
Ripper flinched at this, now giving Dawn an odd look. "W-What? Not sure what you mean by that! Pretty much everyone knows how cool I am!" Ripper deflected with a nervous chuckle.
Alejandro rubbed his chin at this, before just looking back to Katie. "Amiga, what do you suggest our groups are then? Surely your experience would allow you to make the best choices here." Alejandro asked her.
Katie blushed at his words, before she then regained her composure and picked the groups. "Sky, Brick, Caleb, Bowie, you guys can carry Lindsay and Sam!" Katie laid out the first group.
Sam sighed at this label, while Lindsay was excited to be in the first group. "Ooooh I get to go first!" Lindsay exclaimed.
Bowie looked to Caleb, winking at his crush since they were on the same group. "Guess I'll get to see you rock the court firsthand gorgeous~" Bowie told Caleb suavely.
"Mhmm, it should be fun." Caleb stated with a warm smile.
Katie then grabbed Sadie's hand, before laying out the next group. "Sadie, me, Ripper, and Trent will carry Scary Girl and Millie!" Katie stated, which got Trent just a bit nervous and Scary Girl rather bothered.
"Is she growling?" Trent asked, seeing Scary Girl now snarling at Katie for her group choice.
"It would seem so, I'd keep your distance." Millie warned Trent, writing the behavior in her notebook.
Katie now looked to Alejandro once more, blushing as soon as he laid eyes on him. "Alejandro, Eva, you two can carry Dawn and Beardo right?" Katie asked them, laying out the third group.
Eva nodded with her arms crossed. "You can count on it." she answered gruffly.
"We will not fail you, your leadership here is much appreciated." Alejandro assured Katie, then blew her a kiss.
-Confessional: Ferocious Trout: Katie-
Katie's cheeks were fully red, barely able to contain herself. "OMG OMG! Alejandro is crushing on me, and I was like already so crushing on him! Do you think he knows I was crushing on him too? After we win this challenge, I am soooo asking him out!"
-End Confessional-
On the Lightning Squad, Wayne was the first person to speak up on his team. "Okey, so here's the plan eh. If we want a barnburner with these matches, we should put a couple dusters on each team so we don't end the game shorthanded!" Wayne stated, pointing to Cameron and Staci.
"Great plan Wayner! Then the beauties can pull their weight and we'll only be shootin' bottle rockets!" Raj praised his bud's plan.
Lightning wasn't happy of course, pushing Wayne aside and pointing at himself. "This ain't the Wayne Sha-weinies, this is the Lightning Squad! So I'm making the groups!" Lightning declared.
Wayne rubbed his arm, sharing a look with Raj. "What the captain says go eh." Wayne told him, conceding to Lightning right away.
"This'll totally not be a waste a time." Anne Maria commented sarcastically, now just waiting to hear who Lightning would pick.
Lightning pointed at himself first of course, flexing a muscle with his other arm. "Aww yeah, so here's what we're gonna do! The Lightning, Wayne, Raj, Nike, Toey, and Mohawk will destroy them all in the first round!" Lightning poorly laid out the first group.
"Is he talking about us?" Mike asked Zoey, who just shrugged.
"These jocks never make sense..." Zoey whispered back to him.
Lightning then pointed right at Shawn. "Sleepyhead, Heatha, goth girl, big dude, orange girl, and B, y'all will go up second and also win!" Lightning decided the second group.
"What'd you just call me!?" Anne Maria yelled at him, clenching both fists.
"Relax, I don't think he's even smart enough to make an insult." Gwen told Anne Maria dully.
Lightning let the aggression slide since Gwen cooled her, but now his gaze fell on those he did not like. "Glasses, other glasses, DK, and the girl with the grandpas, y'all will go up last! We'll win the whole thing before you guys go up so we chillin'!" Lightning told them, not at all worried.
Cameron raised an eyebrow, lifting a finger to object. "Umm, that's now how the scoring works for this challenge? It's based on the win loss ratio of all three of our games. Maybe we should evenly spread the good play-"
"The Lightning made the teams! Not y'all sha-wimps! Now we're gonna win the whole thing, that's that!" Lightning cut him off, flexing his muscles again.
Chris's watch then went off, and he got out his megaphone. "Time is now up! All captains give me your final groups! They cannot be changed, so you better be sure!" Chris ordered the team captains.
-Confessional: Lightning Squad: Lightning-
Lightning had a confident smirk, pointing at the camera. "You better be sure the Lightning is winning the whole sha-game! Chris shoulda just let the Lightning solo every round! Some of the guys here can play the game, but they ain't anywhere close to the Lightning! For sha-real!"
-Confessional: Lightning Squad: Beth-
Beth tapped her fingers nervously, biting her lip. "Umm, I don't feel too good about thith... I was alwayth picked last in gym class, and now it happened again. But now if I lose I might get voted out! It'd be really embarathing if I went out so soon, fingerth crossed thith goes well?"
-End Confessionals-
The camera focused on Chris at first after the confessionals, holding a megaphone while sitting in the referee chair. "Here we are, our first match of the day! It's the Killer Bass versus the Screaming Gophers!" Chris announced the first matchup, with the camera panning down to show the teams on the court.
Jo scoffed as she saw the players on the Bass side, seeing Zee standing at the end of the court aimlessly and Noah just completely checked out. "Is this the best you chumps can start with? Almost takes the fun out of curbstomping you!" Jo insulted them.
Both teams were lined up at the end of the court, and they each had 3 dodgeballs in the center of their side of the court ready to grab. "Trust me, I'm all this team needs!" Chase replied, slicking his hair back with his hands.
Julia gagged and Amy rolled her eyes at this gesture. "He can't be that delusional right?" Julia asked Amy, looking concerned almost.
Amy shrugged her shoulders, gesturing to the rest of the Bass with her thumb. "Well they have the crazy girl and they had the wizard, so I'm pretty sure they're all just crazy, stupid, or just both like Samey." Amy remarked.
Priya wasn't liking this name-calling, but she didn't say anything about it just yet, just prepared to run and grab a ball as soon as the match started. "Okay teams, your first match begins NOW! Dodge some balls!" Chris started the match, then set down his megaphone to watch the match.
Chase, Cody, and Priya were the only ones trying for the Bass, so they ended up grabbing their dodgeballs first while Jo, Damien, and Geoff grabbed the dodgeballs first for the Gophers. "Wait! Just toss me all the balls, I can knock them out right away!" Tyler requested excitedly.
Damien handed over his ball without a question, as did Geoff, although Jo held onto hers. "Let's see that throwing arm work then, I'm not just handing over my nerd destroying ammo." Jo told Tyler.
Tyler nodded and began to spin around while holding the two balls in opposite hands, confusing the onlooking Bass. "Woahhh... he's like a dodgeball tornado yo. I don't think we're winning this one." Zee commented in amazement.
"That's what convinces you of this being a suicide squad? Your mind and it's inner working perplex me..." Scarlett commented, looking at Zee with mild curiosity while she waited to just be taken out of the challenge.
That wouldn't end up happening though, as when Tyler released the first ball, it flew backwards and hit Damien in the stomach, knocking him over. "Ow! What was that for!?" Damien let out as he sat up from the hit.
"Damien is out of the game!" Chris narrated, annoying the Gophers.
"But the other team didn't even hit him, that was Tyler messing up his- OW!" Julia let out as she too was hit by Tyler's next ball in the face.
"Julia is out of the game as well, the Bass are pulling into the lead!" Chris announced, with Noah trying to hold back his laughter at the whole situation.
-Confessional: Killer Bass: Noah-
Noah held up a book on Survivor theory with a smirk, before setting it on his lap. "I was ready to just spend this whole challenge doing nothing but reading up on strategy, but this is more entertaining. Good job Chris, you made dodgeball actually interesting with your awful cast picks."
-End Confessional-
Damien and Julia walked back to the Gopher stands, while Jo was now furious with Tyler. "What was that!? Aren't you a jock!? Even Trent throws better than that!" Jo yelled at Tyler angrily.
"Wait what did I do?" Trent asked in confusion hearing his name.
Tyler crossed his arms, only slightly embarrassed on the outside. "Those were just uh, accidents! I'll get them all out on the next throws, just give all the balls to me!" Tyler insisted confidently.
"Ugh, you're more delusional than them somehow!" Amy insulted him, picking up the ball that hit Julia.
"They're distracted, hit them now!" Priya shouted, before hurling her dodgeball, as did Chase and Cody.
Jo dodged Priya's ball just fine, and Chase's ball whizzed right by Geoff. "Oh, I thought I could fake him out with that one. Uhh, whoops?" Chase let out as he saw Geoff just stand there and avoid his ball.
"Was a good attempt man, maybe next time bro!" Geoff encouraged Chase, earning him some of Jo's ire.
What Geoff didn't see was that Cody's ball that flew past everyone had circled back now and came right towards him. By the time Amy saw it, there was no time to warn Geoff as he was knocked forward by the ball and taken out of the game. "How does that geek know how to throw like that!?" Amy questioned in shock.
Cody chuckled, now gaining a smug look. "You learn a lot from playing games with motion controls, and the spin is one of-" Cody began to explain, but a swift ball from Jo to the face cut him off.
"And just like every other geek, he can't keep his mouth shut." Jo added with a laugh.
Noah now stepped forward, holding both hands up. "Hey I'm talking, does that mean you can take me out too? Or was that 'just an accident' but in a good way." Noah requested, annoying both Jo and Tyler.
"I'll show you an accident!" Tyler declared, picking up the ball that hit Geoff and spinning to throw it at Noah.
When Tyler threw it though, it flew straight up and hit the ceiling of the court, before coming right back down and hitting Amy in the head. "The Gophers are down to two players while the Bass still have five! Not looking too great for the Gophers!" Chris narrated, stifling a laugh.
"Uhh, third time's the charm? I'll get them all out next throw!" Tyler declared, still staying optimistic.
Jo just deadpanned, before picking up a dodgeball and throwing a ball right at him. "That was the third person on our team you took out you moron! You are done!" Jo yelled at him, done with his failures.
Tyler groaned as he got up, rubbing his arm as he walked to the Gophers' stands with Amy. "Wow, complaining about someone knocking out their teammates while also knocking out your own teammate. Gotta say, love the logic there." Noah remarked.
Chase laughed, nodding his head in agreement. "Yeah, thanks for making this a 5 versus 1!" Chase thanked Jo sarcastically.
Jo smirked though, beckoning the Bass on with one hand. "Oh I don't need those losers to crush you all. Bring it!" Jo provoked them cockily.
Priya went along with it and picked up the ball that hit Cody, before hurling it right at Jo. "Take that then!" Priya shouted as she threw it.
"Thanks, was planning on it." Jo replied, easily catching the ball Priya threw at her. "You may have trained for the show, but your throws don't feel like you've hit the gym like I have!" Jo boasted as Priya was shocked she caught her ball.
"Priya is now out and Jo gets to bring someone back into the challenge!" Chris stated, waiting for Jo to make her pick.
"Amy, get back out here!" Jo yelled to her teammate, prompting the cheerleader to get back up and rejoin her.
Since all the balls except for the one that hit Priya were currently on the Gophers' side of the court, Jo and Amy were easily able to arm themselves while Chase picked up the ball. "Alright, time to finish this! Dude style!" Chase shouted as he then ran forward and threw his ball.
Both girls dodged it with no problem, and Amy threw her ball right back at Chase with far more force. It pelted him in the stomach and took him down, while Jo just threw a ball right at Noah who just let it hit him. "Thanks, guess I can just read now." Noah thanked Jo boredly, opening his book as he went back to the stands.
"Not cool dude, you can't just give up on the challenge like that!" Chase criticized Noah as he followed him to the stands.
"Our group was literally picked to lose, that's the point." Noah pointed out, before just diving into his book and cutting everyone else out.
Scarlett picked up the ball that hit Chase to at least try and protect her glasses, which ended up working as Jo's next ball hit her in the legs and gave her an easy out. "No way, I'm like the last guy standing again!" Zee exclaimed, having just watched all his teammates get decimated.
"Not for long twerp!" Amy yelled, before throwing a ball right at him.
The ball hit Zee in the shoulder, making him yelp for just a moment as he was taken out. "Dang. What are you supposed to do there? Cuz that was pretty fast yo." Zee asked Chris specifically.
...
...
"You were supposed to dodge." Chris answered bluntly, before standing up in his seat and picking up the megaphone. "But that doesn't matter! The Screaming Gophers win their first match! Great way to start off this challenge!" Chris announced the winner, with Jo and Amy high fiving each other.
"Not bad, although it's easy to look good after Tyler went up." Jo complimented Amy.
Amy smirked, nodding her head. "Yeah, don't compare me to the failure. Makes me wanna throw up." Amy told Jo, pretending to gag.
"At least someone here has some actual sense then." Jo replied with a chuckle.
Amy again nodded, before pointing at herself. "I was thinking about that actually. Why don't the two of us make an alliance? Just so the weirdos have just a little more trouble getting rid of us." Amy proposed, lowering her voice a little so the others wouldn't hear as they walked back to the stands.
"Works with me. Just don't suck at the challenges like Tyloss." Jo agreed to it, again chuckling as she looked at Tyler.
-Confessional: Screaming Gophers: Amy-
Amy laughed, kicking her legs with excitement. "Oh ho ho! Samey probably doesn't have a single friendship on that team, let alone an alliance! But now I've got one with the captain, so I'll be making it further than Samey no matter what now!"
-End Confessional-
"Up next, we have the Ferocious Trout versus the Lightning Squad! Take your positions everyone!" Chris announced the next matchup as the Gophers and Bass now had a chance to rest from their match.
Scarlett had a confident look still as Zee sat down next to her on the bench, the loss not sitting super well with the team. "Fret not. This was going to be a loss regardless, now our next two matches will be easy wins." Scarlett assured the rest of the Bass.
"Yeah, I sure hope so. Because if it doesn't work out, then I think we know whose fault this is." Priya commented, not too confident in the plan now.
"Keep your chins up, this'll be easy for us when it's our turn!" Jasmine tried to keep things positive, although Priya didn't seem to buying it.
Sky was pumped for the challenge with the Trout, leading the other 5 in her group onto the court. "Alright team, we've got a balanced lot, so make sure to give it your all and we'll all do fine! Go Trout!" Sky cheered them on.
"Yes ma'am!" Brick saluted to Sky, which Lindsay and Sam also saluted with him.
"Go Trout!" Lindsay, Sam, and Caleb all cheered together, while Bowie was too busy ogling Caleb to join in on the cheer.
Lightning ran onto the court with Wayne and Raj, while Mike, Zoey, and Duncan just walked on after them. "It's sha-go time! Like my pops says, nothin' matters but taking the win, so we're doing that right here!" Lightning cheered on his team, with Wayne and Raj high-fiving him.
"I guess that's how it goes in this game? So... go Team Lightning!" Mike hesitantly cheered along as well. Duncan just had ambivalence, walking toward the back of the court while Zoey watched the five guys with disgust.
-Confessional: Lightning Squad: Zoey-
Zoey pretended to gag, slumping over in her seat. "Ugh, why did I have to be in the round with all the thugs? Mike is cool, but the other four? Reminds me of a lot of people I'd rather not think about back home. But I'll play along, I don't want to make any of them hate me! I mean, assuming they don't already..."
-Confessional: Killer Bass: Priya-
Priya had one finger tapping her chin, her other hand on her hip. "Hmm, Scarlett and Jasmine are both pretty strong players on our team. I'll need to make sure they're both gone before the merge comes, that's what my parents taught me when it comes to power players! But I'd need to get the numbers against them, which is also tough if they're well respected. I don't want to be all manipulative, since that's dirty, but I came here to win!"
-End Confessional-
Now that both groups for the Trout and Bolts were on the court and in position on the line at the back, Chris grabbed his whistle. "Time for match 2, Ferocious Trout versus Lightning Squad! Let the game begin!" Chris started the match, then blew his whistle at the same time as Chef.
"Go bolts!" Wayne shouted as soon as the match started, with him, Raj, and Lightning sprinting to grab the three dodgeballs on their side.
"Bzzt bzzt!" Raj imitated an electric current as he picked up one of the balls, throwing it right at Sky as she picked up one of the dodgeballs on the Trout's side.
Brick and Bowie also grabbed balls as the Lightning Squad did, and Sky noticed Raj's attack quick enough to jump out of the way. "Woah! Stay light on your feet everyone!" Sky let out, now fully on guard.
Lightning quickly eyed the competition, then looked to Wayne. "Sha-pelt the big dude, he's their quarterback!" Lightning yelled, pointing right at Caleb.
"Aye aye captain!" Wayne followed the order and threw his dodgeball right at Caleb, as did Lightning.
"Wait what?" Caleb was confused as to why he was being pointed at since his hands were empty.
The only answer he got was a ball to the shoulder and one to the stomach, taking him out of the challenge right away. "Ooh, the Lightning Squad is taking an early offensive and took out the Ferocious Trout's strongest player! Good move on their part!" Chris narrated the match.
Caleb groaned, marching back to the bleachers. "I didn't even get a chance to do anything, this is garbage!" Caleb complained as he sat back down, with Alejandro taking note of this upset moment.
"Caleb was our strongest solider, but we can still win this troops!" Brick encouraged his team, picking up one of the balls that hit Caleb.
Since all the balls were on their side now, Sam and Lindsay were also able to pick up dodgeballs. "So like, we're supposed to hit them right?" Lindsay asked, looking over the ball.
"Umm, yes?" Bowie replied, confused as to how that was even a question.
Having no balls on their side, the Lightning Squad was now just prepping to dodge. "Get ready to dodge eh! They got a champion gymnast on their side!" Wayne warned the others, lightly hopping on his feet.
This made Mike gasp, and lipstick soon materialized on his face and a twinkle filled his eye. "A champion gymnast? Zat would be none other than Svetlana!" Svetlana declared, stepping forward.
"Huh? I think Wayner was talking about Sky." Raj corrected Svetlana.
"Everyone throw at once!" Sky ordered as Raj looked back at Svetlana.
Sky, Brick, Bowie, and Sam all hurled their balls toward the Bolts, with Brick throwing both balls in his hands and Lindsay still trying to take aim. Raj got hit in the back of the head by Bowie's ball, although Svetlana gracefully leapt over Sky's ball and then ducked under Brick's first ball. "Ah ha~ it'll take more than zat to defeat moi!" Svetlana boasted as she remained unscathed.
Duncan stepped right into the line that Sam's ball was heading, allowing himself to be hit. "Dang, I'm out, guess I'm done for the day." he said without a care and just walked right back to the stands.
-Confessional: Lightning Squad: Duncan-
Duncan had one hand on his knee, resting his head on his other palm. "Can't say I'm ready to bust my chops just for these jocks. They're gonna win the whole thing, so I'll just sit back and let them handle it. Not worth the effort."
-End Confessional-
As Raj and Duncan walked back to the stands together, the remaining four Bolts picked up the dodgeballs on their side. "Stay on your guard! They're strong players!" Sky warned the others, ready to move.
Svetlana walked up to Zoey, giving her a wink before holding out a hand. "Hand over ze ball, I shall throw these stiff folks out of the game!" Svetlana requested.
"Mike? Are you uh... feeling alright?" Zoey asked, just handing over her dodgeball.
"Ze name is Svetlana, Russian gym champion!" Svetlana introduced herself to Zoey, before skipping away.
Sam and Lindsay were both thrown out quickly by Wayne and Lightning, with the latter still taking aim before she got hit in the face. "Dang! I thought this would be like Overwight Plumber Sports Mix dodgeball! But the balls aren't really floaty like that game." Sam chuckled, scratching the back of his head as he went back to the stands.
"Do I still look okay?" Lindsay those in the stands as she walked over, pointing to a bruise on her forehead.
"You look gorgeous mi mujer~" Alejandro complimented Lindsay, making her blush.
This got Bowie to blush as well, leading to him being hit off guard in the cheek by Lightning using the last spare ball on their side. "Dropped your defense bro! You just got sha-zapped!" Lightning bragged to Bowie, then high-fived Wayne.
Bowie rolled his eyes, then gave the jock a wave of dismissal. "Ugh, I'm just gonna sit next to Alejandro. Thank you~" Bowie thanked Lightning, fast walking over to the stands.
This now left Sky and Brick on the court for the Trout, picking up the balls that had just taken out their teammates. "We're not out just yet! We can do this!" Sky tried to stay positive, then threw her ball toward Lightning, with Brick doing the same to capitalize on her throw.
Lightning stepped out of the way of Sky's ball, leading to him getting hit in the crotch by Brick's ball. "Deadshot!" Brick exclaimed as his ball hit the balls.
"Sha-mama..." Lightning whimpered, just dropping down his knees and clutching his pearls.
Zoey giggled briefly as Lightning fell to his side from the hit, dropped it before he could notice. "Sha-deserved..." Zoey mumbled to herself.
Svetlana then leapt right up to the line dividing the sides, winking at the two bolts. "Impressive throws, but zis is where it ends!" Svetlana greeted the two, before flinging one ball each at them.
Brick got hit in the knee by the ball meant for him, knocking him to the ground. Sky was quicker and dodged the ball, but just ended up getting taken out by the follow up from Wayne hitting her in the face. "Nice moves Mike! We really showed those fartfaces who the best are eh!" Wayne praised Svetlana, offering a high five.
Chris blowing his whistle to end the match made Svetlana gasp, with her switching back to Mike. "Oh, we won? I mean, yeah! We won! Hehe..." Mike cheered, awkwardly accepting the high five from Wayne.
"The Lightning Squad wins against the Ferocious Trout in a 3-0 show! But don't go anywhere Trout, you're up against the Screaming Gophers next! So get your second groups on the court!" Chris declared the results of the match.
Brick helped Sky up, giving his captain a salute. "We put our best effort out there, I'm afraid we were simply outmatched." Brick consoled Sky.
"They played well yes, good game Bolts!" Sky congratulated the remaining players on the court.
"Good game back eh!" Wayne shared the sentiment, jogging across to fist bump Sky before returning to his team.
-Confessional: Lightning Squad: Zoey-
Zoey giggled, before playing with her hair a little. "I didn't have to do much in that much thankfully. I might've messed up if I went out on the frontline. Mike was reallly good out there, I'll have to ask where he learned those skills! Plus Lightning got hit real bad, that jerk jock had it coming!"
-End Confessional-
Now on the court was the next Gopher group, who were still in a good mood after their first win. All except for Dave, who was watching Chef line up the dodgeballs near the dividing line with worry. "I don't have to touch the dodgeballs right? They're all germy like any other piece of gym equipment and I really don't need an infection on my first week here." Dave asked the others.
Sierra giggled at his worry, shrugging her shoulders. "Ooo! Your mysophobia will be pretty bad here! You might not get an infection, but it could be your last week here if you don't play!" Sierra told him joyfully.
Dave grew more worried at this, although Bridgette held a hand near him to try and comfort him without actually making contact. "Don't worry, we can pick up the slack for you. It's dodgeball after all, so if you just keep dodging, you won't touch the balls and you'll be doing plenty for us." Bridgette assured Dave.
DJ gave Dave a thumbs up as well, while Topher and Dakota were working on their appearances before the match started. "Not good for showbiz or strategy if you don't take part in the challenges, but whatever works for you." Topher told Dave as he fixed up his hair.
With the Trout, Katie and Sadie led Scary Girl, Ripper, Millie, and Trent onto the court, still looking confident. "It's not over till it's over, don't let the loss get you down!" Sky cheered them on as they walked to the back to get into position.
"Oh this'll go perfectly, just watch! You can count on us!" Katie assured her team, looking back for a moment to give Sky a thumbs up.
Sadie nodded in agreement, looking over the group. "Other than Trent, we could all do really well at dodgeball here, so we've got this! Eeeee!" Sadie squealed excitedly.
"Huh? I still don't get it, did I say something about dodgeball earlier?" Trent asked in confusion.
"Ah zip it Lennon, just let the strong players handle this!" Ripper dismissed Trent's question.
Scary Girl raised a hand, smiling gleefully at the Gophers. "Who on their team are we going to hurt first? I think we should hit Dave, he looks like a good screamer~" Scary Girl asked, giggling afterward.
Millie wrote this down in her notebook, while the bfffls shared a look. "Well Dave is one of their weakest, so we need to go for their stronger members first! DJ and Topher are the big ones it looks like! At least back home they'd look like good players." Katie explained, eying up the other group.
"OMG, you are like so good at this as always! We'll take them out first then and win the round!" Sadie of course agreed to the plan.
"Yeah, we'll rip 'em to shreds!" Ripper agreed, pumping a fist in the air.
"To shreds!" Scary Girl repeated far more excitedly, making Trent and Millie step away from her.
-Confessional: Ferocious Trout: Sadie-
Sadie had her hands on her lap, smiling at the camera with a wide smile. "Katie is so talented for real, a dodgeball challenge this early means she gets to show off how good she is! Then after we win today, our team won't wanna vote us out for a long time!"
-End Confessional-
With both teams now in position, Chef blew the whistle to start the match once he was back in his ref chair, with Chris leaning back to eagerly watch the match. "Screaming Gophers and Ferocious Trout, game on!" Chris started the match, prompting both teams to run and grab their balls near the middle of the court.
Katie, Trent, and Ripper all rushed to the center and grabbed the three balls, with all three of them immediately throwing them directly at DJ and Topher as they came toward the center.
"Woah! Watch the face!" Topher let out as he ducked under the ball Trent threw, putting both hands on his head for extra security.
DJ was reaching down to grab his dodgeball as they did this, so he ended up getting easily hit twice by Katie and Ripper, taking him out of the game. "Big guy down, you guys are toast!" Ripper boasted to the other team, picking his ball back up as it rolled onto the Trout's side after hitting DJ.
"Agh! Sorry guys. Try and catch the ball if you can so I can rejoin you guys." DJ apologized, before hurrying off the court so he wouldn't be in the way.
Katie high fived Ripper after this, further annoying Bridgette and Sierra that they lost DJ so fast. "Smart play, better than many would expect from you guys!" Sierra insulted them with a smile, then threw a ball at Katie.
Bridgette nodded, giggling briefly with Sierra. "Yeah, we lost one player, we're far from toast!" Bridgette added, throwing a ball at Ripper.
Katie dodged Sierra's throw easily, as did Sadie when it flew past Katie. Ripper ducked under Bridgette's throw in time as well, although this just led to Millie getting hit in the face. "Ow! What was that for!?" Millie let out as she fell down, rubbing her face.
Bridgette winced as Millie went down. "Sorry! Was trying to hit Ripper in his big mouth!" Bridgette apologized.
Millie accepted this apology, simply standing up and writing in her notebook as she went back to the stands. "Completely understandable, carry on!" Millie replied, making Ripper roll his eyes.
-Confessional: Ferocious Trout: Ripper-
Ripper groaned, both fists on his hips. "Hey, it's not my fault I'm doing so well out there and Millie doesn't know how to live a little! She'd rather write her accomplishments like a nerd than actually brag about them! I've got a feeling she's gonna try to take me out of the game though. I was in the bottom three last night, so that means she probably voted for me! Gotta make sure I take her out before she takes me out!"
-End Confessional-
Topher threw a ball at Trent, but the guitarist moved out of the way and the ball just hit the back wall and fell to the floor harmlessly. Sadie grabbed the three balls they had now dodged and passed one to Katie, Ripper, and Scary Girl. "You all got this! I'll keep passing you guys the balls so they have less time to take you out!" Sadie cheered them on, then smirking as she saw Sierra and Bridgette running back to get the balls near the back of their side of the court.
"Just like at our home games, great thinking bestie!" Katie praised Sadie, then threw her ball toward the retreating girls, as did Ripper.
Scary Girl paused, zeroing in on a specific target before backflipping and sending her ball rocketing out of her hand toward her target. "Woah! Where did Scary Girl get those skills?" Trent asked, staying near the back of the court at the moment.
Dave screamed as he saw Scary Girl's ball headed right towards him, being cut off as he was hit right in the face and launched toward the back wall. "Heehee, got you!" Scary Girl exclaimed as Dave fell to the floor, groveling in pain.
"Germs... on my face..." Dave groaned, as not just the ball but the wall collision hurt pretty bad.
Sierra was able to react fast enough to Katie's ball and move out of the way before picking up her ball, although by the time Bridgette looked back and saw Ripper's ball, she got hit in the shoulder and was taken out of the game. "Crap! How did they get balls back so fast?" Bridgette let out, rubbing her shoulder as she started to walk back to the stands.
"So much for taking out the big mouth!" Ripper quipped, laughing afterward, only receiving a raspberry from Bridgette.
Sierra picked up four balls at the back of the court now, the two already there and the two that were sent their way. "We have to take out Ripper first, he's a good thrower and easy target." Sierra told Topher as she handed him two of the balls.
Dakota picked up the ball that hit Dave, now taking aim at Ripper. "Oh I'll gladly hit that greaseball!" Dakota stated, then threw her ball right at Ripper.
The throw wasn't very strong though, so Ripper just caught the ball when Dakota threw it at him. "I may be a greaseball but I'm no butterfingers!" Ripper remarked, again laughing as Dakota stormed off the court.
Since his hands were full now, Sierra threw both of her balls at Ripper as fast as she could. "Now's when we get them!" Sierra shouted as she threw them.
Scary Girl ended up leaping in front of Ripper and catching the ball though, deflecting the second ball with the first one she caught with incredible speed. "Nope! Time to die!" she laughed after deflecting the ball.
Topher was about to throw his first ball of two, but the ball Scary Girl deflected seemed to home in on him, clocking him in the face and making him yell in anguish. "NOOO! Not the face!" Topher cried out, just making Scary Girl more giddy.
Chef blew his whistle, and Chris applauded the match. "Wow, a complete blowout for the Ferocious Trout, winning 6-0 after catching the ball! Gophers, you gotta step up your game!" Chris announced the result of the match, with Sierra angrily kicking one of the balls near her before walking back to the stands while the Trout all cheered, with Millie joining in since she was back on the court.
"Great work team! That couldn't have gone better!" Katie praised them all, sharing high-fives with everyone.
"Nice dodgeball skills, I didn't expect that out of you guys." Trent complimented them all.
"Sooooo you didn't expect us to be good?" Scary Girl asked Trent, smiling into his soul.
Trent held both hands up immediately, backing away. "Nope, was talking about everyone except you. Great plays out there Scary Girl!" Trent deflected.
Scary Girl seemed appeased, while Ripper just chuckled. "Well of course we've got skills at dodgeball, something you wouldn't get pretty boy!" Ripper remarked, pointing at Trent.
"I only got to throw one ball, why does everyone think I'm bad at this?" Trent asked, getting even more confused.
"Well that one ball missed. So you've missed 100% of your throws technically speaking." Millie informed Trent.
While Trent tried to process this reasoning, Chris pulled out his megaphone. "Onto the next match, we have the Killer Bass versus the Lightning Squad! Get your butts on the court ASAP!" Chris announced the next matchup, letting the other two teams settle back into the bleachers.
-Confessional: Screaming Gophers: Sierra-
Sierra was now typing on her laptop, giddy with excitement. "Ooooo, that was some really good showings for the Trout! Totally adding this all to my blog! Didn't expect Trent to suck that much at dodgeball, but it'll be a cool fun fact!"
-End Confessional-
The second Bass group walked on the court together, with Jasmine leading everyone into position. "Alright Bass, we're all a strong lot now, so I know we'll get this done easier than a snake gulpin' a house rat!" Jasmine pepped up her team.
"Of all phrases to use, why that?" Courtney asked, slightly annoyed.
"'Cuz kitchen rats go down easy, ain't that tricky princess." Scott answered, giving a two finger wave to Jasmine.
Izzy was hopping in place ready to go, although Emma looked a bit unsure. "What's wrong girl?" LeShawna asked Emma, standing beside her.
"Ugh, I know we can do this, but if we don't, I know Chase is going to rub it in." Emma stated, briefly glaring at the bleachers.
LeShawna patted her back, then tilted Emma's head away from the bleachers. "Don't even think about him, just be you and kick butt out here! That boy won't have anything to say to you if you do great out here while he got knocked out!" LeShawna assured Emma confidently.
Emma took a deep breath, then gained a smile. "Yeah! Yeah I'll be the one to rub it in after this!" Emma declared, now much more confident than before.
LeShawna sighed, but didn't object. "Close enough." she mumbled to herself.
The second Lightning Squad group walked onto the court a bit more separate, with Gwen, Anne Maria, and Heather all keeping their distance from one another, with the latter two just working on their looks with hairspray and a nail file respectively.
B stood near the back of the line at the end of the court, bracing for the worst since he didn't have any materials at his disposal. Owen was pumped for the challenge, being the only one really as Shawn could already see how fractured this group was. "This'll go well..." Shawn muttered.
"Think we can try to work together for this one?" Gwen asked the other girls droningly.
"If the queen of bossiness can be a team player, sure thing doll." Anne Maria replied, shooting a glance at Heather.
Heather lowered her nail file, not even looking Anne Maria's way. "Oh I'm the bossy one? Be real, I'm actually pulling my weight here. Don't you dare try and oppose me." Heather threatened Anne Maria.
Anne Maria in response just sprayed Heather in the face with her hairspray, making the queen bee gasp for air and struggle to even let out a syllable as she fell to the ground. "Don't dare try? Nah, I can just oppose ya all I want." Anne Maria remarked with a smug smile.
-Confessional: Lightning Squad: Gwen-
Gwen was slumped back in the confessional, blowing a strand of hair out of her face. "Have I ever mentioned that I hate my team? They're all a bunch of good for nothing bickering nuisances. I thought the bullies back at school were bad, but when you depend on those bullies to work together to win challenges where a million bucks are on the line, it's even worse."
-End Confessional-
With both teams in position and the balls back at the center of the court, Chris could already tell just how bad this one was going to be. "Both teams ready? Well go hurt each other!" Chris started the challenge, with Chef blowing his whistle again.
Jasmine, Izzy, and Courtney were the first to grab dodgeballs on their side, now all taking aim on who to hit. Anne Maria ran for one of the dodgeballs, although Heather tripped her and a loud clang was heard as Anne Maria's hair hit the floor first. "We'll see who carries their weight here!" Heather laughed as she ran past.
Anne Maria grabbed Heather's leg though, making her fall down as well. "Well you ain't got much weight to begin with, so this'll be easy!" Anne Mara remarked as she pulled herself up.
Neither girl would get a chance though, as Jasmine hit Heather and Courtney hit Anne Maria thanks to how vulnerable they were. "Maybe try working together ladies!" Jasmine taunted them.
Shawn had grabbed one of the balls, groaning as Heather and Anne Maria continued to bicker as they walked back to the bleachers. "So I guess we're the dysfunctional team?" Shawn commented, stepping back as he waited to see where Izzy would throw her ball.
"Yep. And we're stuck with them." Gwen added, picking up the second ball while Owen picked up the third.
"Game on! No one hurts my teammates!" Owen yelled, determined to avenge his fallen players as he threw his ball.
Izzy just used this force against him though, holding her ball out and deflecting it right back at him. "You're cute when you think you're intimidating, you know that? But you're no match for Izzy!" Izzy told Owen after he was hit and on the floor.
"And neither are you!" Izzy added, throwing her ball at B at the back of the court, who just accepted the hit since he had nothing to defend himself with.
B walked over and helped Owen up, then put his hands in his pockets as he walked back to the bleachers, just giving Shawn and Gwen a nod as he walked past them. "That smarts..." Owen mumbled as he rubbed his belly from the hit.
Scott was left in disbelief, briefly scowling to himself as he watched the Lightning Squad go down. "Way to go guys!" he cheered his team on, forcing a smile.
-Confessional: Killer Bass: Scott-
Scott lightly kicked the confessional wall, then crossed his arms. "We already lost the first round, the plan was to throw this round and force us to go to a ceremony, but there's no way I can pull that off now without painting a target on my back! Lucky chumps in this group, I'll get 'em next time. Or Axel just sucks brutally bad with her group, that's also an easy option."
-End Confessional-
Shawn threw a ball at Emma, and Shawn threw his at Scott, trying to at least get some hits in. Emma dodged Shawn's throw, while Scott didn't try at all to dodge and just took the hit to the shoulder. "You'll need to throw better than that!" Emma taunted Shawn.
LeShawna picked up the ball Emma dodged, holding it out for her to take. "Blow off some steam girl." LeShawna told her with a smirk.
"Oh I so will!" Emma replied as she took the ball, then took aim with it.
Jasmine grabbed the other ball on their side of the court, as the other four were on the Lightning Squad's side. "Two left folks, keep up the momentum!" Jasmine encouraged the team.
Gwen and Shawn ran back to each grab a ball, although seeing the other five just was not reassuring for either of them. "You've got a problem with how the team keeps bickering right?" Gwen asked Shawn as Emma threw a ball at them, which she dodged since she saw it coming.
"Yeah, this team wouldn't last a second in the apocalypse!" Shawn replied, throwing his ball toward Izzy, who just effortlessly dodged his throw.
"Right... agree to stick together in the votes so we don't get caught up in it then?" Gwen proposed.
"Works for me. I'll quiz you on zombie survival later to see if we'll work together wellLL!" Shawn yelled as he was then hit in the face by Jasmine's ball and knocked a bit back on the floor by it.
Gwen looked back at Shawn getting hit, just glad he agreed to it before she too got hit in the face swiftly by Izzy's throw. "And gothy is down for the count! Way easier than my usual victims!" Izzy boasted as Gwen was knocked down.
"Usual victims?" Courtney asked, also a little disappointed with the Lightning Squad.
"Oh yeah, I used to be a bounty hunter for a while, you run into some crazy people when you're hunting them down with a big price tag on their head!" Izzy answered, making a gun with her hands.
Emma and LeShawna shared a look as Izzy said this, neither ready to actually directly talk to her. "Anyway... good job y'all! They didn't even know what hit 'em!" LeShawna congratulated the other Bass, the five of them high-fiving.
Chef blew his whistle, and Chris aimed his megaphone at the Lightning Squad stands. "So the Killer Bass win their second match 5-0 against the Lightning Squad! Talk about a pathetic showing!" Chris insulted the Bolts, while the Bass continued to celebrate.
Lightning was fuming as the second group took their seats, glaring at each of them as they sat down. "Sha-what was that!? You were supposed to be good at the game, but y'all fumbled all four downs with making it past the first line!" Lightning complained angrily.
"Maybe if they were good at cooperating that would've gone better." Gwen mumbled in response.
"Oh that was Heather's fault, she was bossin' everyone around and got us both out immediately!" Anne Maria right away threw the blame on Heather.
"My fault!? You were the one using your spray everywhere and distracting everyone! This one is your fault!" Heather accused her right back.
Their ears were then blown out by Chris using his megaphone once more and cutting off the argument. "Lightning Squad, you're up again! Every team has lost one game and won one game, so these matches will decide who has to send someone home! So now the Screaming Gophers and the Lightning Squad's third groups will battle it out!" Chris announced the next matchup.
Beth, MK, Staci, and Cameron got up for the Lightning Squad, and Lightning stared them all down as they headed onto the court. "Y'all better not lose this for us!" Lightning demanded.
Jo almost burst into laughter as she saw the last group, then kicked back and crossed her legs. "Guess this next one is as good as won! Our chump group has got this." Jo remarked as Ezekiel, Max, Ella, Blaineley, and Harold walked onto the court.
"I wouldn't call us chumps, rather, masters of the balls!" Harold corrected Jo, getting a few chuckles from the others in the stands.
-Confessional: Screaming Gophers: Harold-
Harold fixed up his glasses, looking plenty confident. "I'm pretty good at dodging stuff. Both with figure skating and Gunslinger Steve's Bullet Dodging Camp, I think I've got this one."
-End Confessional-
With both teams in position, Chris scoffed at who was up. "So these are the last resort teams huh? Guess we'll see which one is slightly less weaker than the other! Gophers and Bolts, play ball!" Chris started the match and Chef blew his whistle, letting them go at it.
Ezekiel, Blaineley, and Harold were the first to grab balls on their side while Beth, MK, and Cameron were the ones to grab balls for their side right after them. "I would say we should just take out the strong ones, but I'm really not seeing any here." Blaineley remarked.
"We'll show you!" Cameron declared, taking aim at Blaineley and then throwing his ball.
Blaineley didn't even flinch as he did this, as the ball hit the ground almost immediately after Cameron threw it, so Staci ended up picking it up. "Heh, guess someone wasn't trained in mad skills like we are!" Harold mocked Cameron, then lifted one leg as he prepared to throw the ball.
MK rolled her eyes and threw the ball right at Harold, cutting him off before he could finish whatever motion he was performing. "Mad skills? More like fad skills." MK joked.
Ezekiel then threw a ball at MK, but she crouched down and it flew right over her head. "Heh, for once the sexist didn't hit a girl!" MK remarked, smirking at Ezekiel now.
Beth and Staci of course both took aim at Ezekiel, although neither of their throws were very strong so he easily moved out of the way. "Yah, sexism was actually started by my great great great great uncle Friedrich! Before him, things were a bit better, so sad." Staci lamented after throwing her ball.
"Oh quit yapping, doesn't sound great for the cameras sweetheart." Blaineley told Staci, before swiftly throwing a ball at her face and clocking her out immediately.
Max laughed as Staci fell down, then looked up at Blaineley. "Ha! And Jo thought she put the weaklings on this group! But nay, we are in this group so it isn't so!" Max declared, then let out an evil laugh.
Blaineley raised an eyebrow, before a smirk then formed on her face. "Yeah, guess we get underestimated like that. Chris does the same here. What do you say we stick together and stick it to Jo down the road?" Blaineley proposed.
Max's eyes lit up at this offer, and he right away grabbed one of Blaineley's hands and shook it. "Deal! You shall be my sidekick henceforth until we become supreme rulers of this game! Mwahaha!" Max laughed once more, before getting hit in the face by Beth's throw, having used the ball that hit Staci.
"Thorry! That laugh was just kinda annoying..." Beth apologized, wincing slightly from Max hitting the ground.
Ella picked up the ball that hit Max, while Ezekiel ran back and grabbed the balls that Beth and Staci had thrown at him, and Blaineley picked up the ball that hit Harold, all of this creating a more sinking feeling for Beth. MK just looked mildly annoyed by their predicament. "Oh... I can't use such a joyous toy to hurt them! Why can't we sing this out together?" Ella asked, holding her ball out.
MK chuckled, then beckoned Ella. "Eh why not? Come over here and give us a tune then." MK requested.
Ella happily obliged, handing Blaineley her ball as she then skipped over to the Lightning Squad's side. "Smiles for us, smiles for all, as none shall be harmed by my dodgeball! With no throwing, all will be okay, a gesture of peace with my friend MK!" Ella sang as she approached MK.
Chef then blew his whistle, pointing at Ella. "Singing girl, you're out for crossing the line!" Chef yelled at her, pointing at the dividing line.
Ella sighed, walking back to the stands and waving goodbye to MK. "Farewell my new friend, I am glad to have avoided violence..." Ella told MK, who sarcastically waved goodbye back.
-Confessional: Lightning Squad: MK-
MK held back her laughter, sitting upright. "Okay, that was too easy. But hey, I can bow out of the challenge now that I got a couple people out. That's all I really needed to do so John Madden doesn't throw a hissyfit over me not helping."
-End Confessional-
MK just let herself get hit by Blaineley's throw, while Beth was just completely defenseless to Ezekiel throwing two balls right at her. "Figured that was gonna happen when they made their last group mostly girls eh." Ezekiel remarked as Beth went down, holding out a hand to high-five.
"I really should have thrown you out if I didn't plan on winning." Blaineley told him, leaving his high five hanging as she went back to the bleachers.
Chef blew his whistle, and Chris again looked to the Lightning Squad. "Ooo, and the Lightning Squad suffers another quick loss! Guess that means they'll be sending someone home tonight! After such a strong start, one would wonder what went wrong!" Chris narrated, with Lightning now completely breaking down.
"Are you all for sha-real!? They sent out their worst players, y'all should've had that in the sha-bag!" Lightning scolded the third group.
"Maybe you shouldn't have also thent out our worst players?" Beth replied, raising a finger.
Lightning got up in her face, glaring at her. "You sayin' the Lightning can't make a sha-roster!?" Lightning yelled at Beth.
"N-Nope! That was all us! Thorry!" Beth meekly apologized, then scrambled to sit far away from him in the bleachers.
With that match over, Chris then pointed at the Bass stands and then the Trout. "That now brings us to our final game of the day! The Killer Bass versus the Ferocious Trout! Get your last groups onto the court and we'll see what you're made of!" Chris commanded the teams, leaving the Lightning Squad to grovel in defeat and the Screaming Gophers to just relax in safety now.
"That was cutting it close, but we're staying as the only team with all their members! Let's keep it that way." Jo told her team, putting her hands behind her head as she kicked back.
"Victory selfie!" Julia exclaimed, holding out her phone and taking a picture with mainly herself and then all of her Gopher teammates in the background.
"ALL RIGHT TEAM! We're going to go out there and win, do you all understand!?" Axel yelled at the other three in her group as she got up to head out onto the court.
Rodney got up and saluted right away, following Axel. "Yes ma'am!" he answered, with a pink haze falling over his eyes.
Nichelle got up after Rodney and followed, looking a bit unsure. "Hey, what's wrong?" Samey asked as she got up right after Nichelle, noticing her worried face.
Nichelle right away shook it off, gaining a look of confidence. "Nothin'! Let's win this!" Nichelle shouted, pumping a fist in the air.
Samey didn't further question it, and just walked with Nichelle out onto the court. "Yeah, we can do it!" Samey cheered with her.
"No you can't!" Amy shouted from the Gophers' stands, making Samey sigh once more.
Eva, Alejandro, Dawn, and Beardo were the last group for the Trout, so they all got up together and walked onto the court behind Alejandro. "Alright amigos, I believe in us, and we'll be able to win this as long as we do our best!" Alejandro gave out platitudes, pumping the others up.
Beardo imitated a carnival bell, excited for the challenge, while Eva's resting frown lifted a little. "Hmm, that we shall." Dawn agreed with Alejandro, although she looked just a bit offput by him.
-Confessional: Ferocious Trout: Dawn-
Dawn sighed, a small frown on her face. "I do not sense a positive aura from Alejandro, it's in fact one that seems rather bitter. While I can't sense his intentions here, they don't seem to come from a good place. Perhaps I should get to know him better, because an aura this bitter is worrying, it could spread among the team if not treated."
-End Confessional-
With the last groups now in position at the back of their sides, Chris leaned forward in his seat a bit. "Okay, not complete weaklings like the last game! This'll be interesting! Time to see which secret weapon group can pull a win here, game on!" Chris started the match, and Chef blew his whistle to give the go-ahead.
Axel wasted no time sprinting to the balls, as did Eva and Alejandro. "She's their strongest, let's get her first!" Alejandro commanded his group as he picked up his ball.
Axel grimaced hearing this, and just picked up all three balls in one scoop. She tossed one to Rodney and one to Nichelle, keeping the third for herself as she backflipped over the quick throws from Eva and Alejandro. "Heh, it'll take more than that to take down a top notch survivalist!" Axel boasted, smirking at her opponents.
Eva picked up the third ball, and hurled it as the Bass all prepared to throw their balls. "Fine, have it your way!" Eva yelled as she threw it.
"Take your shots, NOW!" Axel yelled as Eva did this, then threw her ball, as did Rodney and Nichelle.
"You got it- YOW!" Rodney let out as he was hit in the chest by Eva's throw, surprisingly hurting the farm boy a good amount.
Rodney's ball was aimed at Alejandro, who easily dodged his more direct throw, and Nichelle's throw was way off, not even needing to be dodged by any of the Trout. Eva then just ran to go get it. "What was that about?" Axel asked Nichelle, confused by the bad aim.
Axel's ball unlike Rodney or Nichelle's actually hit it's target, as it just ended up getting stuck in Beardo's hair. "Does that count as a hit Chris?" Dawn asked the host as she pulled the ball out of his hair.
"It hit him and he didn't catch it with his hands, so he's out!" Chris answered, pointing back with his thumb.
Womp womp womp. Beardo just trudged back to the Trout stands, a little sad he got taken out so fast.
Nichelle struggled to come up with an answer to Axel's question, but just deflected and pointed ahead. "They're grabbing the balls we threw, watch out!" Nichelle warned Axel and Samey.
"If you can't dodge 'em just catch 'em!" Axel shouted to them, taking a defensive stance.
Axel didn't have to worry though as they weren't even going for her. Eva hurled a ball right at Nichelle, while Dawn threw her ball at Samey, as did Alejandro. "You got this Nichelle!" Samey cheered on Nichelle.
Nichelle held out both hands to catch Eva's ball, but the force behind it was far too much for her and it slipped past her hands and hit her in the face. "Ooo, tough break for Nichelle, there goes the Bass's action star!" Chris narrated as Nichelle got up and rubbed her face.
-Confessional: Killer Bass: Samey-
Samey looked a little more confused, one hand on her chin. "Huh, I thought Nichelle would be much better at an action challenge. She seemed like she was more athletic than even Amy! You've seen all those crazy stunts she does in the movies! But that? That was bad..."
-End Confessional-
Dawn's ball wasn't thrown very hard, so Samey was easily able to catch it, and she then used it to knock Alejandro's ball away at the last second. "Alright Rodney, you're back with us!" Samey called to Rodney.
"You want me with you? Aww..." Rodney replied as he hurried back onto the court.
His love fixed gaze on Samey wouldn't last for very long though, as a ball from Alejandro hit him in the face while he was still distracted. "Yow! Ugh, not again..." Rodney mumbled, rubbing his cheek as he walked right back to the stands.
Axel grumbled, now back to looking at their opponents in front of them. "So it's 2 on 2, we're still in this!" Axel encouraged Samey, who was doubtful of their chances against Eva and Alejandro still.
All of the balls were on the Bass side now, so Axel and Samey each picked up three balls. "All those balls and you're going to miss all of them!" Chase shouted from the stands, laughing a little.
"We're supposed to be cheering them on! They're our teammates!" Emma reminded him, quickly getting upset.
"What? Axel's been a jerk this whole time! And don't worry, I'll always cheer you on babe!" Chase assured her with a cheeky smile, making Emma scowl and look away in disgust.
Axel threw a ball right between Eva and Alejandro to try and feint them, although Alejandro never fell for it and just stayed in place. "Simple minded tricks like that won't work amiga~ maybe you're not as strong as you think~" Alejandro taunted Axel, then winked at her.
Axel grew furious at this, then set her second ball on Samey's stack of three. "Just toss them to me as I throw them!" she ordered angrily, to which Samey meekly nodded.
As Alejandro walked back to get the ball that missed both of them, Axel let out a war cry as she jumped and threw her first ball, throwing a second when Samey tossed one to her. "Woah, seems Axel's gotten into the zone!" Chris narrated, leaning further in his chair.
When Axel landed, she threw the next three Samey tossed to her rapidly one by one, laser focused on her targets. "You don't know the first thing about strength!" Axel yelled at Alejandro specifically as she threw them.
The first two balls were sent in slightly different directions, so when Eva tried to dodge the first, she ended up leaping right into the second and getting hit in the shoulder. Alejandro turned around and ducked under Axel's third ball and leapt over her fourth, but when he landed the fifth one hit him right in the crotch, making him keel over. Chef blew his whistle, leaving the Trout appalled at what they just saw.
"GAME OVER! The Killer Bass win the final round and immunity from tonight's ceremony!" Chris announced, with all of the Killer Bass except for Chase erupting into applause.
"Way to go, that was like straight out of a video game!" Cody praised Axel.
Scarlett nodded in agreement, clapping politely. "As I predicted, saving you for last was the logical move." Scarlett stated, satisfied with how her plan panned out.
Samey gave two thumbs up to Axel as well, smiling at her. "That was seriously cool. Whenever I see someone get that mad, usually it's a bad thing, but wow that was incredible!" Samey praised Axel as well, walking back with her to the court.
Axel just kept her stonefaced resting look though, crossing her arms. "Whatever. We won." Axel replied, hurrying past her applauding teammates and not even acknowledging the praise.
With the challenge over, Chris now got down from his referee chair and walked over to the Trout and Bolts, snickering as he saw how upset they were at their losses. "Ferocious Trout, Lightning Squad, you both won one match and lost two, which means you tied for last place and will both be sending someone home tonight! Chris informed them.
Sky tried to keep a positive outlook, still smiling at her teammates. "It's okay everyone, we tried our best, and after tonight, we'll do even better tomorrow!" Sky assured her teammates, which helped a little.
"Man! This sha-sucks! Lightning dominated his match and now we gotta vote someone off!? This is sha-rigged!" Lightning complained.
Hearing Lightning, Chris then faced the Lightning Squad. "Since you guys lost more members in your winning match, I'll see you guys tonight first! Trout, I'll see you after the Bolts return to camp." Chris told the teams, then walked with Chef to leave the teams to their own devices.
-Confessional: Lightning Squad: Gwen-
Gwen was drawing in her sketchbook now, not all that concerned still. "Go figure that a team as sucky as ours lost again. This is gonna be a messy ceremony, but I don't really care. I'm not being targeted, and I have Shawn as at least someone I know won't vote for me. I like zombie movies, he's crazy about zombies, so I might be able to hold a conversation with him while I'm stuck on this team."
-End Confessional-
As the Trout arrived back at their cabin, Sky stepped in front of everyone at the steps, clapping her hands. "Okay everyone, as a team we should probably discuss who we're voting for before this gets messy." Sky got everyone's attention.
"Umm, you were the leader, so this kinda falls on you girl." Bowie pointed out right away, one hand on his hip.
"Oh yeah, she's the one that picked the groups huh? Why did she pick teams that would lose?" Lindsay realized, looking at Sky with some confusion.
Sky's eyes widened a little, and she right away held both hands up. "Hold on, let's think about who provides the least to the team. We need to keep winning challenges, so we should see how we can stay strong." Sky proposed quickly.
"So you can keep yourself in the game huh? I won my match, so don't even try to throw me under the bus here!" Ripper accused Sky.
Alejandro now stepped in, seeing Sky growing in worry. "Hold on everyone. Let's slow this down. Sky didn't pick the groups, and she didn't act as leader this challenge either. That responsibility fell to Katie, our resident dodgeball captain." Alejandro pointed out calmly.
This now turned the ire towards the besties, and both began to panic. "Wait wait! We totally kicked butt in our game! You can't vote us off! That'd be like, really dumb!" Sadie argued.
"Yeah, we pulled our weight today! It was the other groups that didn't! Like Trent totally sucked at dodgeball!" Katie defended herself.
"This again?" Trent groaned, leaning against the cabin porch stairs.
"Well you didn't do good out there." Millie agreed with Katie.
Beardo mimicked a toll booth closing, frowning at Trent. "Yeah, he was probably the worst at dodgeball of all the teams." Caleb also agreed.
-Confessional: Ferocious Trout: Trent-
Trent scratched his head, now looking worried. "I really don't get why everyone seems to think I'm the worst at dodgeball. I missed one throw, and now I'm up on the chopping block? I don't get it."
-Confessional: Ferocious Trout: Sam-
Sam was also a little confused, aimlessly playing on his Gameguy. "Trent did okay, probably better than I did. I've played Survivor on the DS though, and it's the nice people who are alright at everything that get targeted. I would've said something, but I know they'd have just gone after me, which would've been super lame."
-End Confessionals-
Over at the Lightning Squad cabin, things were a bit more explosive than with the Trout. "All y'all who lost their sha-matches, you're all up to get booted off this team! Group 1 is all sha-good though." Lightning stated, giving Mike and Zoey some relief while Duncan just didn't care.
"Yo jockstrap, you made the teams, ain't this your fault?" Anne Maria pointed out.
Heather nodded in agreement. "For once I agree with her. If you didn't pair me with orange skin here, we might've won that." Heather insulted Anne Maria.
"You wanna go right now!? I can take an anorexic bum like you any day!" Anne Maria threatened Heather, closing both fists.
Heather just held both hands up, stepping away from Anne Maria. "See? Lightning, she cost us our game and is starting fights, let's just vote her out and be done with it." Heather suggested.
Anne Maria got further aggravated, and then pointed at those from the last group. "Nah, you ain't trying to say I'm costing us the game when Beth, Staci, and Cameron are right there!" Anne Maria pointed to the weaklings of the team.
"She got a point there." Lightning now started to side with Anne Maria.
"Hey! I still provide my worth in knowledge to the team, and I'm still trying too!" Cameron defended himself.
Staci nodded in agreement. "Yah, I'm like super good at teamwork. Like my great great great great great great great uncle Elton invented teamwork. Before him, people just didn't cooperate at all and nothing got done, so sad." Staci rambled.
Duncan now yawned and stood up, stretching his arms. "Can you all just shut up? You're all getting annoying, just vote for who you feel like voting for before I have to get involved." Duncan told the team, before just walking away.
"That works, I don't really like this mean talk, the votes aren't really fun at all..." Owen agreed with Duncan, leaving the porch as well, as did B.
Lightning saw the discussion dying, so he just began to walk away as well. "Sha-fine, y'all just vote one of the losers off!" Lightning told them all before heading into the cabin.
-Confessional: Lightning Squad: Beth-
Beth tapped her fingers, growing nervous. "I know I have my alliance with Heather, but that's only 3 of uth. There's 16 people on this team, what if they go for me? You don't think I'd get voted off thith early right?"
-End Confessional-
Nightfall soon came, and the 16 members of the Lightning Squad walked through the woods that led to the elimination ceremony together while dramatic music played. The path to the area was lit up with tall torches, but they seemed to only shine down on those most nervous, those completely in the clear almost lurking the shadows. A pigeon was watching them from a tree, but it failed to dodge a rock thrown at it by a squirrel, which just laughed at the hit.
The frog logo of the team was on top of Chris's podium, which was then covered by a tray of 15 marshmallows. The members of the team sat down in two rows of 8, with Wayne, Raj, Duncan, Gwen, Shawn, Anne Maria, Owen, and MK in the back row while Mike, Zoey, Beth, Staci, Heather, B, Cameron, and Lightning sat in the front. "Welcome back to the elimination pit!" Chris greeted the team, standing behind his podium.
Most of the team just look bothered more than anything, the general dysfunction just draining them. "After seeing how you guys talk to each other, not surprised you guys lost back to back! Since you clearly didn't want to talk about why some of you might be going home, I'll let Chef do it!" Chris stated, as Chef now stepped forward.
"Staci!" Chef made his first callout, making the liar flinch.
"Yah?" Staci let out upon hearing her name.
"You've been telling all kinds of crazy stories around camp about your family and no one is buying it, and you ain't doin' too hot in challenges. Your team might just be done with you for good!" Chef went over, making Staci wince.
-Confessional: Lightning Squad: Staci-
Staci held one palm on her chest, a sincere smile on her face. "While my grand relatives inventing dodgeball wasn't too helpful, I'm sure I'll be fine yah!"
-End Confessional-
"Anne Maria! Heather!" Chef called to the next people, with Anne Maria stopping applying another coat of spray tan once she heard her name.
"Ugh, you buyin' their crap too huh?" Anne Maria retorted, rolling her eyes.
Chef pointed to Heather, who didn't look phased at all. "You two girls spent the last couple days squawking at each other and the team is getting sick of it! Could be one of your loud butts goin' home tonight!" Chef stated, with neither girls looking at each other.
-Confessional: Lightning Squad: Anne Maria-
Anne Maria was spraying her hair again, just very annoyed. "Can't believe Heather is draggin' me down with her. She just hides behind a buncha words! Back home, she'd get a mean hook and know her place here!"
-Confessional: Lightning Squad: Heather-
Heather crossed one leg over the other, filing her nails. "As if I'm worried. I doubt that can fan has been making any connections like I have, I'm basically invincible right now."
-End Confessionals-
"Lightning!" Chef then pointed at the captain, shocked to even be pointed at.
Lightning threw both arms up in anger. "Now sha-what did I do!?" he let out.
"You're yelling at your team over everything are completely full of yourself, your team might be sick of your leadership!" Chef told him, to which the jock just crossed his arms.
-Confessional: Lightning Squad: Lightning-
Lightning let out a huff, then flexed one of his arms. "This sha-team ain't gonna last without me! They'd be stupid if they think they can sha-vote off sha-Lightning!"
-End Confessional-
"And Cameron!" Chef made his last callout, pointing at the bubble boy last just like the previous ceremony.
"This again..." Cameron sighed, hugging his legs.
Chef nodded, still pointing at him. "Again is right! You just haven't been pulling your weight and are all kinds of scrawny! Ain't doing much good to keep you around!" Chef stated, which Cameron didn't object to.
-Confessional: Lightning Squad: Cameron-
Cameron rubbed one arm, trying to think of a counterargument. "Yeah, no use arguing with that. I just hope my team recognizes my intellectual ability? Please?"
-End Confessional-
The callouts were done and the votes had now been placed, so Chris lifted up the tray of marshmallows. "Your ballots have been cast, now I'll make your decision final! If you get a marshmallow, you're safe for now! Let's begin!" Chris started the ceremony, grabbing the first marshmallow.
"Marshmallows go to..."
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"Mike."
Mike held out a hand to catch his marshmallow, glad to be safe immediately.
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"Gwen."
Gwen had her head resting on one palm, and used her other hand to just catch the marshmallow.
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"Duncan."
Duncan swiped his marshmallow out of the air, just having a bored look on his face.
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"Wayne."
Wayne fist bumped Raj as he was tossed his marshmallow, catching it right after.
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"Raj."
The hockey bros then high fived as Raj got his marshmallow, and the two ate them together.
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"B."
B held out both palms to catch his marshmallow, popping it into his mouth casually and putting his hands back in his pockets.
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"MK."
MK swiped her marshmallow out of the air and slipped it right into her pocket with a smirk.
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"Zoey."
Zoey sighed with relief as she caught hers, now destressing and leaning back.
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"Shawn."
Shawn pumped a fist as he was tossed his marshmallow, resting his hands on his knees after catching his marshmallow.
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"Owen."
Owen opened his mouth and let the marshmallow fly right to him, closing it once it landed in his mouth.
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"Beth."
Beth let out a huge sigh of relief, although she looked a bit worried when she realized she was the first of her alliance to be safe.
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"Staci."
Staci already expected to be safe, so she just popped her marshmallow into her mouth casually once she received it.
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"Cameron."
Cameron smiled as he caught his marshmallow, although Lightning looked a bit annoyed that he was safe.
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"and Heather."
Heather grinned as she heard her name, squeezing her marshmallow for a moment before flicking it into her mouth.
That now left Anne Maria and Lightning, both more angry than worried to be here right now. "Anne Maria, Lightning, you two both ruffled up plenty of feathers during your stay here, but one of you will have to depart tonight. Probably for the best for the team." Chris told them, grabbing the final marshmallow.
Anne Maria was spraying her hair style, while Lightning clenched both fists as worry now started to fill his face. "The fourth person voted off this island is..."
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"Anne Maria!"
Lightning jumped up from his seat to catch his marshmallow, throwing it into his mouth and flexing his muscles after. "Sha-yeah! Can't take down the Lightning!" Lightning cheered for himself.
Anne Maria scowled, nearly crushing her can of hair spray in her hand. "Oh y'all just stupid, that's it." Anne Maria insulted the rest of the team, standing up and glaring at them.
"Not stupid, we just don't need people who start fights. And trash like you just don't fit that." Heather insulted Anne Maria back.
"Like you're any better..." Shawn muttered, disappointed with this outcome.
Chris walked over to Anne Maria, now gesturing to the dock. "Dock of Shame awaits Anne Maria, time to take the Drone of Despair home!" Chris directed her.
"Aww screw this!" Anne Maria yelled, throwing her can of hair spray at the fire as she stormed off, creating a large plume that quickly made the rest of the Lightning Squad start coughing.
The fumes transitioned to the dock, where Anne Maria walked down the Dock of Shame with both fists clenched. "I can't believe they actually sided with Heather in that whole thing! That ain't right!" Anne Maria complained.
-Parting Confessional: Anne Maria-
Anne Maria floofed up her hair one last time, letting out a sigh. "Ugh, I didn't do the best playin' that out, I shoulda tried to rope some more people into actually votin' for Heather if I wanted to take her down. If I was gonna lose this whole thang though, I'd rather lose here and be done with it. 'Cuz I know how these shows work, and I gots me a sweet vacay coming!"
-End Confessional-
Anne Maria walked to the end of the dock where Chris was waiting for her, and the Drone of Despair soon lowered on her. The clank it made when it grabbed onto her hair made Chris cover his ears, but he soon uncovered them as she was lifted away. "See y'all never!" Anne Maria shouted to the island as she was carried away.
Chris was a little confused, scratching his head as he watched her fly away. "Huh. She took that whole thing better than I was expecting." Chris commented, then walked back on the dock to the campfire pit.
The fumes had cleared up now when Chris returned, so he took the plate of marshmallows off the podium and handed it to Chef. "Lightning Squad, try to get your act together so I don't have to see you a third time in a row! Go let the Trout know it's their turn." Chris dismissed the team, letting them all collectively leave together to go rest for the night.
Cutting back to the woods, the 16 members of the Ferocious Trout walked along the path that led to the elimination ceremony together while dramatic music once again played. The tall torches burned ever bright, lighting the way to the ceremony pit. A pigeon emerged from one of the trees holding a rock in its beak, dropping it down on a squirrel which failed to dodge the falling rock and was knocked out cold.
The frog logo on Chris's podium had been swapped out for the Trout logo by the time they arrived, sitting down in two rows of 8 like the Lightning Squad had. In the back sat Caleb, Bowie, Trent, Dawn, Eva, Scary Girl, Sky, and Beardo, while in the front sat Lindsay, Sam, Katie, Sadie, Millie, Alejandro, Eva, and Brick. "Last ceremony was a repeat visit, as is this one! You guys are just the weaker teams huh?" Chris greeted the Trout.
"We tried our best and it didn't work out, that's all that matters. We'll get it next time." Sky replied, crossing her arms.
Chris chuckled, looking at Sky specifically. "Uh huh, we'll see if you're so comfortable in a bit. Chef, do your thing." Chris told Sky, then let Chef stepped forward.
"Katie!" Chef made his first callout.
Katie knew what this was about, so she just raised a hand to acknowledge it. "You were the best dodgeball player out of anyone here, yet you put together the groups that lost the challenge!" Chef chastised her leadership.
-Confessional: Ferocious Trout: Katie-
Katie sighed, one hand on her hip. "Sadie and I so kicked butt in our round so we should be fine tonight. There's plenty of other people the team could go after anyway, right?"
-End Confessional-
"Sky!" Chef made the next callout, making the gymnast flinch.
"You handed over leadership to someone who made some bad calls, doesn't reflect good on you at all now! Might be seeing our first captain drop tonight!" Chef stated, making Sky squirm in her seat ever so slightly.
-Confessional: Ferocious Trout: Sky-
Sky rubbed one arm, before just putting on a brave face. "I'll be fine, I defended myself well before the ceremony and I'm sure my team can recognize my strengths and sportsmanship! I will not be eliminated this early!"
-End Confessional-
"And Trent!" Chef made the last callout, making Trent roll his eyes for once.
"Tell me something I haven't heard man." Trent replied, fully aware of what Chef would say.
"I ain't seen someone play dodgeball worse than you did today! Can't believe you didn't just quit after that performance!" Chef scolded Trent, the most angry with him.
-Confessional: Ferocious Trout: Trent-
Trent facepalmed, before slumping forward. "If I get voted off over dodgeball I am never going to live this down..."
-End Confessional-
With the callouts now done, Chef handed Chris a fresh tray of 15 marshmallows, of which the host grabbed the first one. "Your votes have been cast, so now it's time to see which one of you just isn't positive enough for the team! If you get a marshmallow, you're safe for the night!" Chris told the team, preparing to toss the marshmallow.
"Marshmallows go to..."
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"Eva."
Eva let out a satisfied grunt as she caught her marshmallow, glad to be safe first.
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"Sam."
Sam caught his marshmallow thankfully, relieved to not have any kind of target on himself.
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"Sadie."
Sadie caught her marshmallow happily, although worry filled her face as she looked to her bestie.
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"Lindsay."
Lindsay reached out to catch her marshmallow, but it just ended up hitting her in the forehead.
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"Beardo."
Beardo recreated the Final Fantasy victory theme as he got his marshmallow, ending it by tossing the marshmallow into his mouth.
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"Bowie."
Bowie wasn't surprised at all to be safe, so he was ready to just accept and catch his marshmallow.
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"Dawn."
Dawn thankfully nodded as she was tossed her marshmallow, whispering a few words to it before eating it.
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"Ripper."
Ripper let out a huge woop as his name was called, pumping a fist with one hand while he caught his marshmallow with the other.
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"Caleb."
Caleb smiled warmly as he received his marshmallow, glad to be safe for the night.
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"Brick."
Brick saluted and reached to catch his marshmallow, which he quickly ate and swallowed, lowering his salute afterward.
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"Millie."
Ripper audibly groaned when Millie's name was called, making Millie just roll her eyes as she caught her marshmallow, still smiling.
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"Alejandro."
Alejandro raised one eyebrow, wondering if someone voted for him as he caught his marshmallow.
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"Scary Girl."
Scary Girl's grin didn't change at all as she caught her marshmallow, just giggling before eating it.
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"Sky."
Sky let out a huge sigh of relief, catching her marshmallow graciously.
That left the bottom 2, being Katie and Trent. Katie held hands with Sadie worriedly, while Trent just rested his head on his palms, so fed up with this reasoning by now. "Katie, Trent, the goddess of dodgeball and the worst at dodgeball ever, one of you will be going home tonight." Chris told them, holding out the final marshmallow.
Katie and Sadie's handhold got tighter, while Trent just waited blankly to hear the result. "And that person, the fifth voted off of Total Drama Island is..."

"Katie!"
Trent sighed with relief as he was tossed his marshmallow, while Katie and Sadie now began to cry. "Noooo! This can't be! Why Katie!? Why so soon!?" Sadie cried out.
"It's so unfair, we did our part in the challenge!" Katie protested.
"Still cost us the other parts." Eva stated bluntly.
Before Sadie could cry further, Katie gripped her hand with both hands now. "Sadie look, I know this isn't fair, but you can't let this slow you down! You have to win for both of us okay?" Katie tried to encourage Sadie.
"B-But without you I'm-" Sadie began to stammer.
"Without me you're still incredible, I know you can do it!" Katie cheered on her bestie, standing up from her seat.
"Katie, time to go!" Chris called to the bfffls, waving for her to follow him.
-Parting Confessional: Katie-
Katie sighed, wiping her eyes a little. "Okay so it like so totally sucks to lose that early, but I believe in Sadie! She's great at everything, just like I am! She'll beat everyone here!"
-End Confessional-
On the Dock of Shame, Katie and Sadie stood together with Chris, waiting for the Drone of Despair. "Win for us Sadie! I know you can!" Katie cheered on her bestie, giving her one last hug, which she tightly returned.
The Drone of Despair then came down, grabbing onto Katie's head and beginning to pull her away. "Noooo! I won't let you take her! We can't be separated!" Sadie begged, keeping the hug going tightly.
The drone was easily stronger though, and Katie was soon pulled out of the hug. "Don't give up Sadie! You can wiiiiiiin!" Katie continued to cheer Sadie on, her voice fading away as she was carried away by the drone.
Sadie fell to her knees, bawling her eyes out now as she waved goodbye to her bestie. "I miss you already! I'll win for us!" Sadie declared through the tears, before just collapsing into a sobbing mess on the dock.
Chris was a little irked by this, stepping away from Sadie. "Well that was two ladies who really didn't have a firm hold in the game! Maybe the others will step it up now that they know how quickly the votes can flip! But will Sadie step things up? Probably not! But you'll just have to wait and see next time on Total, Drama, Island!" Chris concluded the episode, with the camera then zooming out to show the whole island at night.

Author's Note:
Strategic boots after a physical challenge? Yep! In a season of this caliber and this large, I really wanted to highlight just how quickly alliances and cliques can form, as they played a big part with both of these boots. With Katie and Sadie, they're probably my least favorite of the three duos we have here, mostly because other characters have similar qualities to them and act as individual units. So of course the solution is to boot one early and expand on the other, since they are largely interchangeable. Katie gets more love in fanfics though, and her little bit of expertise of dodgeball in canon was enough to justify her going here, rather than Sadie like many fics do. Out of 68, I'd rank Katie at 56th overall.
Anne Maria on the other hand, this was another heavy one for me to get rid of. I needed some hard hitters to go to show how powerful Heather is right now, since she's amassing power on her team fast. I've already written Anne Maria going far twice, so I could afford to let her go here. The more grueling physical challenges I could maximize her hair humor with wouldn't be coming until way later, so since she wasn't going to be sticking around for long, this seemed like the best place to go. Out of 68, I'd rank her at 23rd, so with a heavy heart she departs here.
Thank you all for reading as always, this project is pretty taxing, so it's really cool that so many of you are enjoying it! Let me know what you thought in the reviews, have a great day, and I'll see you all next time!
