The Heroic Legend Of Ianthe Chapter 11
Momentarily moving her own concerns aside Ianthe sends Azrael off on his way back to his master waiting for him at home.
Gently stroking the feathers at his breast in farewell, Ianthe said "Go, Azrael. Back to Kishward with you. Fly true."
Azrael is visibly reluctant to leave her side, hesitating in taking off as he lightly squawks.
Placing a light kiss on his sharp beak in reassurance, Ianthe said "Don't fear for me. I'll be all right." Azrael then takes off with a little assistance from her. "Head East! Kishward is out on the border at the Peshawar Citadel! I'll be all right."
Ianthe watches Azrael fly off into the distance until he's nothing more than a speck in the sky. She bears a longing and wistful expression on her face, wishing above all else that she could go with him but well aware she must do her duty.
She misses Kishward, being in his presence. To be fair it wasn't too long ago since she laid eyes on this particular nobleman, but the void he leaves behind in his absence always lingers. Great sadness and sorrow spread throughout her heart whenever she remembers the reason why.
It's already been mentioned that when Ianthe turned 15 an array of suitors from far and wide all over the kingdom were brought to Court in order to be considered for her hand in marriage.
One of them actually being Lord Kishward.
Despite the vast age difference of 13 years between them, there's constantly been a big amount of affection. And when the topic of her betrothal was brought up it soon blossomed into what could only be described as something more, much more. Out of all the candidates in the running Kishward was amongst the few that actually made an effort to spend the most time with her. They enjoyed each other's company and the fondness soon developed into more than that. This wasn't lost to the entire Royal Court.
Already a respected, gallant, renowned, and highly regarded Marzbn by the common people and his peers in the aristocracy for Kishawrd there's no doubt in anyone's mind that he does carry the popularity vote. The Twin-Blade General. A knight feared by neighboring kingdoms. A commander whom is famed for holding the eastern border against all threats. Someone that no one in their right mind would choose for an enemy. Unofficially rumors spread that Kishward is highly likely to be the one to marry the Crown Princess once she's of age.
The people accepted this and became at ease with the clear choice.
One, however, did not.
One day, quite without warning, King Andragoras made an announcement to the Court that Kishward would no longer be considered as a viable suitor for his daughter. This shocks many as whatever reasons the King has come up with this decision seem entirely unfounded and without proof although most eventually reach their own conclusions.
King Andragoras may maintain that he's trying to keep order, but the majority knows differently. An issue brewing inside that could not be kept at bay.
Theoretically, the truth of it is, Kishward's reputation had become too popular in the masses and the King saw this as a threat to his position. So he dealt with the problem, removing him from possible further consideration. The entire Court is left scandalized by this disrespectful gesture along with the disgrace it wrought. This sudden loss of favor is baffling.
Undeniably loyal to Pars Kishward accepts his monarch's order with a heavy heart, but this came not without cost. His ranks and title remain intact place, but losses of the heart have a greater effect on both of them.
Understandably Ianthe was distraught by this outcome. No one could blindly ignore the devastation she felt by her father's own stubborn decision. It took her a while to get over it. As duty commands she must think what's best for the kingdom and not herself so she raises no objections even though her displeasure was known. So the search for a husband continued until finally the choice was made.
After analyzing every single person as a suitable replacement, a betrothal was made with Daryun.
A recognized warrior in combat, exponential military prowess, the youngest Marzbn, incredibly kind, and nephew to Lord Vahirz himself Daryun was handpicked out of dozens to eventually become Ianthe's husband and king one day.
Shocked by the announcement Daryun never once expected to be graced with such an honor. He is both honored and humbled by it.
With Kishward no longer an option for her since no one can guarantee King Andragoras will reconsider she has no objections to Daryun. She and Daryun have long known each other since she was a very young child. Not only that, but he's been a dutiful friend and guard. Sure things were plenty awkward after he was chosen, but the two workarounds that splendidly so. They have a great fondness and affection for each other that she knows would definitely grow into love as time went on. He has always been there as a steadfast friend and protector. She has no doubts that he'll make a tremendous king, a leader ruling side by side with her that Pars can be proud of during wartime and the more peaceful era that he's well aware she wants to bring about. Daryun fully supports the Princess in her beliefs and endeavors. Fully dedicated to serving her in absolute and unquestionable loyalty to the crown. He is genuinely sincere towards them. Something that Ianthe is beyond grateful for. She appreciates their shared sentiments and knows they'll make a great match because of it all.
Even now her wishes are his wishes, her desires his desires, her friends are his friends, and her enemies his enemies.
They are a splendid match before and still will be after joined in marriage.
Ianthe is determined their unified reign will be a seat of the fairness of justice for all the castes in the land.
Unfortunately, by no fault of their own, every single aspect of the marvelous plans for the future may yet be put in jeopardy.
Princess Ianthe's instincts have proven to be well spoken and justified.
Not long after Azrael set out for Peshawar Fortress eerie fog rolls over the land into the encampment. So dense that it makes visibility over the plains near to almost impossible. It's just as the Princess feared.
Others don't exactly share her sentiments that this may lead to their disadvantage. Still having full confidence that sheer numbers mixed with the home field advantage will lead to a stupendous victory for ages. Afterall not once have they ever been defeated out in the open field during a dispute however small or major.
But that's not the most important subject at hand.
What is…is chaos and mayhem is about to erupt in the main encampment and not by the enemy.

I have other grand news! I was a patron at New York Comic Con 2019! Ah! I'd been dying to go for years and now I had the opportunity. The Jokers from Impractical Jokers have been here along with Tom Hiddleston and so many others. Over those few days I actually got my picture taken with a couple of other actors/actresses and some really great panels. It really is so exciting there. This is an opportunity of a lifetime so there's no way in hell that I was going to waste a single second of it. No one ever should with something like this. Ever! ;D
For future preferences I highly recommend that you all keep an eye out for when tickets for New York Comic Con are available for purchase again for next year. This is a huge event and you should jump on it whenever you have the chance. Unfortunately this year it appears like Comic Con might be skipped not just in New York, but also in all it's regular places during the course of scheduled events. I think we all know the reason for it is plain as day.
The coronavirus.
Can't exactly blame with how dreadful things are getting in escalation and the fact that places like the Javits Center in New York have been temporarily converted into makeshift hospitals in order to deal with the overflow of people contracting infections from this rapidly spreading virus that might as well be called a plague at this point. Let's keep fingers crossed that an aim is to have this pass us before then so things can get back on track. If it is then New York Comic Con might be exactly what people need in order to lighten their spirits after all this darkness. Stay safe everyone and long to eventually see you there.
