It was a sunny day in Springfield, Illinois, USA. It was 3 o'clock, and school was about to be dismissed for the day. At a desk in one of the classrooms sat a Caucasian boy with spiky black hair and black eyes wearing a blue t-shirt with matching blue jeans and white trainers. He happily swung back and forth in his desk before the bell proceeded to ring.

The boy's name was Dylan Schwartz, and he was quite the class clown at his school, being quick with a joke and would regularly pull pranks on his friends. Dylan lived at home with his mom and dad and life couldn't be better for him.

The bell proceeded to ring, and Dylan was quick to grab his stuff and leave the classroom to head to the school bus with his friends. The group entered the school bus and found a place to sit. "Did you see that guy's face when he suddenly got sprayed with water from the water fountain? I can't believe he didn't notice the rubber band I put around the faucet!" Dylan giggled at another successful prank, and his friends giggled alongside him.

"You can say that again, Dylan. It's one of the oldest tricks in the books, and yet people keep falling for it every single time. You'd think that people would learn by now." One of Dylan's friends, a red haired Caucasian girl with green eyes wearing a pair of black rimmed glasses agreed.

"So, what are you planning to do after you get home, Dylan?" Another one of Dylan's friends, a dark skinned boy with short shaved black hair and brown eyes asked Dylan curiously.

"Dunno. Might just relax in front of the TV a bit. We did have a busy day at school, after all, so a little down time at home wouldn't hurt." Dylan shrugged, and his friends nodded in agreement. The bus soon pulled up to Dylan's house, and Dylan grabbed his stuff.

"Well, this is my stop, so I'll see you guys all tomorrow! Bye for now!" Dylan told his friends before leaving the bus as he walked up to the front door and went inside. "Mom, dad, I'm home!" Dylan called as he entered the house, only to find his mom sitting in the living room with a serious look on her face and his dad nowhere to be seen.

Dylan became confused by this. "Mom? What's going on? Why the long face? And...where's dad?" He asked his mom with a curious tilt of her head, giving her a long look.

Dylan's mother sighed as she got up, kneeling down in front of Dylan, placing her hands on his shoulders. "Dylan...I have to tell you something...I know this is going to be hard for you, but...your father and I are getting a divorce..." She told her son in a regretful tone of voice.

Dylan's eyes widened in shock. "What?! You and dad are divorcing?! Why?!" He asked with equal shock.

"Well, I recently found lipstick stains on your dad's clothing, so I suspected him of cheating. I went looking through his e-mails and found more evidence of him cheating, and eventually, I caught him in the act, and for me, that was the straw that broke the camel's back." Dylan's mother told him with tears in her eyes.

Dylan's eyes also began filling with tears. "No...this can't be...Why would dad do such a thing...? Why did it have to end like this...? Why, dad?! Why, dad, why?!" He shouted at the top of his lungs with tears rolling down his cheeks.

Five years later, Dylan had grown up to be a teenager, and he wasn't the same person he was as a kid anymore. After his parents divorced, he became a really quiet kid and would rarely talk to anyone. Many of his friends cut ties with him, and he became known as "The Boy With No Emotion", because he would rarely talk, laugh or cry, and teachers in his school were having problems with him because of this.

Dylan now spends most of his time at home watching TV, listening to metal music and playing video games in his room all day. He mostly only goes outside on the weekends, and when he does, he can usually be found roaming the woods near his home at night, where he reflects on his lifestyle and how he wishes that his father never cheated on his mother, as he considers it the reason why he lives this way.

Dylan's appearance had also significantly changed since childhood; His skin was now a very pale Caucasian, his black eyes were devoid of any emotion, his black hair was now in an emo cut and reached down to his neck, he had a very scrawny body build and dressed in a baggy black hoodie over a black t-shirt along with black cargo pants and black tennis shoes.

Dylan was currently sitting in his room, listening to Icelandic death metal while playing a video game on his Shaystation 4. An emotionless look rested on his face as he was playing his video game and listening to his Icelandic death metal. That's when he heard a knock on his door, and he proceeded to pause his game and music and walked up to his door and opened it, finding his mother standing there.

"Dylan, this isolating lifestyle of yours has gone on for far too long. I know it's been five years since your father and I divorced, and I understand that it's still difficult for you to handle, but there's no reason to let yourself go like this. I want you to go out and socialize more, so I'm signing you up for a new season of that Canadian reality show, Total Drama. They're gonna be doing a new season in Los Angeles, and it's called Total Drama: City Life. I want you to go out and film your audition tape for the show soon, alright? And please try to say at least more than three words in your Audition Tape, alright?" Dylan's mother explained to Dylan, who simply gave a nod to show he understood what his mother told him.

"Alright, I'm glad to hear that. Here's a camera and a stand. Go out and film your audition tape wherever you feel comfortable, alright?" Dylan's mother replied as she handed him a camera and a standard.

Dylan looked at the camera and stand, then back at his mother and blinked. "...I'll see what I can do, mom..." He replied to his mother in a deep, emotionless voice before going out to film his audition tape.

Later that night, Dylan was sitting in the woods near his home, on a tree trunk. His emotionless eyes stared into the camera as it filmed. After a bit of silence, Dylan began to speak. "...Hello...My name is Dylan Schwartz, and this is my audition tape for Total Drama..." He told the camera in his emotionless deep voice. "...The reason why I'm signing up for this show is because my mother wants me to go outside and interact with people more...If you like quiet kids who dress in black clothing like myself, then I'm right up your alley..." Dylan continued to speak before a wolf ran up to him and attempted to bite him, but Dylan backhanded the wolf in the face without even looking at it. "...I hope you pick me..." Dylan finished before turning off the camera.
