Josie jumped out of bed her heart pounding like a drum in fear. She jumped on the ceiling of the roof with her sharp claws and then jumped back down on her feet. She woke up suprisingly early at 4:50 am its suprising despite going to bed early at 8pm shes doesnt wake up that early at least 7am. She rubbed her eyes and quickly peeked through the curtains to see the Newtopian skyline at just about dawn, the sun barely making a peek. It wasn't time yet.
She yawned and tried to go back to sleep but everytime she tried, she would have the same nightmare. Even when her eyes her open and she was wide awake this vision would pop up in her head. And it was a horrid one!
Her friends Anne and Sasha glaring at her with sharp weapons in their hands that stabbed eachother with Marcy trying to interfere "GIRLS please stop fighting! Just talk to eachother, anything but this!" but a river of skulls rapidly seperated her from them as she tried to swim back to the girls.
Anne would ask her "Why didn't you try to safe me from this horrible fate? Its because you don't care about me anymore!" and Sasha would demand with hissing"Whats it like to be a friend thief with blood on your hands?" Mikayla laughed hysterically and Lucia pointed at her calling her a "Loser with no friends!" over and over again with Pamela and Sandra glaring at her in anger. "We're not friends anymore! Don't even look at me!" they said.
The worst was how Jessica and the girls looked away from her like she was a piece of dirt not worth looking at.
Jessica told her "Get away from me! I will never like you I just feel sorry for you! You want to stay in Amphibia forever because your real world is too painful! How could be so selfish to leave your real family back at home! You're a heartless monster!" She curled up into a ball and screamed until the real her woke up from this nightmare!
This dream would repeat over and over again and it made her feel terrible! She curled up in her bed trying to sleep again but would wake up in a flash of terror and sadness.
She curled up into a ball and weeped into her pillowly softly. Suddenly, Josie heard somebody climb down from the silver metal bunk bed and she felt a hand stroke her neck, back and her soft, raven hair.
Josie squeaked "Jessikins? Is that you?"
Jessica whispered "Yes Josie-Posie its just me, my fuchsia kitty princess. You seem really sad, are you alright?"
Josie whispered back "I'm fine but...I've been having nightmares, horrid horrid nightmares. Nightmares about Marcy trying to stop us and my old friends from fighting but its of no use and you say I'm selfish for...wanting to stay in Amphibia forever! I mean don't get me wrong I LOVE my family back at home and I LOVED LA, but I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH! I don't wanna ever leave and this makes me feel so awful!" She sighed melancholly and put her paws on her chin and sulked a little.
Jessica cooed "I'm so sorry you've been having these awful dreams sweetie! I would NEVER say that to you! You are NOT selfish, we love you too and we would hate to see you leave Josie-Kitty! Please don't ever go back home! I understand how you feel even! I've been having nightmares of my parents being eaten by the pets of this evil toad! And their ghosts were sorrowly following me! Maybe I can ask Marcy to ask Lady Olivia to make you soothing Cowmomille tea from a Hybeena's honey and Cowpillar milk, you love honey don't you?"
Jessica shed a few tears but tried not to let them fall on Josie's back and she wiped the tears off with her hands. Josie hugged her as they cried together into each others arms.
Josie gasped "You-you're parents were EATEN?" She felt horrified hearing this, Amanda did briefly mention this but she only mentioned this once and never again. To hear this from the mouth of her best friend who didn't seem to have a care in the world was very shocking and saddening.
Jessica sadly nodded and told Josie her sad story with "A few years ago when me and Katrina really little, This big scary red toad general named Ragnar kidnapped my parents and my uncle had to sacrifice himself to release them because he said he would only release them if he battled him, only for my parents to be fed to a vicious man eating giant Centipede and my uncle was a war trophy of his. He tricked my great uncle and slaughtered my parents! My auntie Yunan is my hero for slaying that MONSTER! She told me he kidnapped an eft when she was a baby after destroying her village! Nothing was too low for that BEAST!" Jessica was breathing very heavily and Josie had to hug her and help ground her to stop her from having a panic attack.
Josie finished listened to her tragic tale and started weeping harder and it transformed into flat out sobbing. She told Jessica "Thats so horrid, how could he do that! He is so evil! I'm so sorry your parents died! It's not your fault! Your Aunt is a hero!"
Jessica said "I know, she's amazing isn't she? Even if we squabbled sometimes, we still really love each other! She means the world to me! Amanda used to be my familys cook before moving to the village and my family really trusted her so she sent me and Katrina off to live in the village. A few months later a desperate frog woman aquitance with her tadpole Evelyn knocked on her door during a travel and Evelyn was my sister ever since I was an eft. Evelyn doesn't like talking about those times so please don't pry any more."
Josie said while stroking Jessica's hair and hugging her tightly "I won't ask if she doesn't want to tell. I know what you mean, you mean the world to me as well, I don't wanna leave ever! I want to be with you forever and forever! You're the only ones who don't leave me behind or find somebody else cooler! You're the only good one!"
Jessica said "I know, you're my bestest friend in my entire world! You're my world!" They were sitting next to each other in the same bed hugging each other as they felt so soothed, so relaxed like everything would be okay just being next to each other, the world wasn't so unfair, so cold, so cruel. The world was okay, because they were each others world.
They just gazed into each others eyes as they embraced in a warm, comforting hug soothing any past pain they felt, this pure happiness felt like eons of pure joy wrapped into a few minutes, like it would last forever.
Josie nuzzled Jessica and rubbed her cheeks against hers while purring very loudly and the purr cheered up Jessica as Jessica nuzzled her back. They felt so warm wrapped around each other and they both felt their faces heat up and their cheeks turn bright and rosy. The feeling was unmistakable.
They both knew that while they were the bestest of best friends in the whole world... but today they were something else. Josie impusively kissed Jessica on the cheek and she kissed her back. They then kissed for a few seconds on the lips as their tails wrapped around eachother, It was short but sweet that left them both feeling fluttery and dizzy in a wonderful sort of way. Josie purred extremely loudly in delight and Jessica blushed and sighed happily.
That kiss as short lived as it was, it felt so magical, It felt so right! It felt PERFECT!
Josie chuckled with "I think we should share the same bed from now on, no more seperate bunk beds, y'know?"
Jessica replied with a sheepishly cute grin on her face "No kidding! We should totally do that!" they resumed to hugging each other in the same bed.
After ten more minutes of nuzzling, Jessica spoke up with a flustered "Ooooh Josie my Fuchsia Princess, my kittycat, you're amazing. And so sweet, you're PERFECT! Wow...just Too cool to let go. Yknow...I have to tell you this...I h-have this crazy idea so we don't get seperated..."
Josie asked "J-Jessikins, whats your idea, sweetheart?" curious to know what she meant by this...
Jessica replied with a soft voice to her question with "I know a spell that I read about when I browsed through Katrina's spell book, the new book she brought from the mall yesterday like y'know? There is a spell that in blood our souls will be linked together like a red string of fate. Nobody, not even the music box can seperate us from this world! We'll be together forever! Plus you have magic of yours that is linked to your soul right? It'll be easy peasy! Wherever you go, I go! It'll be perfect!"
Josie replied with "That sounds wonderful! We'll be together forever no matter where we are! What ingrediants does the spell require?"
Jessica smiled and responded with "The spell is surprisingly simple! Pieces of your hair as well as a love heart drawn on your neck area with true love pumping through your heart and coursing through your smitten veins! Then my name will be written on your arm and your name on mine! We'll even have features taken from each other to mark us as soulbonded forever! The spell is unbreakable unless you fall out of love or you both die at the same time!"
Josie cried happy tears of joy and purred "That...that sounds so beautiful, so wonderful and so romantic! But I love your features the way they are, you're gorgeous how you already are you don't need to change! But as a metaphor for two hearts becoming one it is rather beautiful I think maybe. But still, I can't wait to do the spell! Jessikins Wheres the book?"
Jessica smiled at Josie and said "It was right underneath my pillow this whole time, borrowed this bad boy when Katrina slept. Lets open the book to the intended chapter with this spell, how funny, opening a spell book with a spell! Whateves Let the spell begin!"
Jessica used magic telekinesis scissors to cut a bit of Josie and her hair and a bit of fur from Josie's fluffy ears and a bit of shedded skin from Jessica's tail. Jessica winced as Josie flinched a little but she, using another enchantment watched as it combined their DNA with the magical love that lived inside their hearts. The magic also used a pinch from Josie's opalescent fuchsia gem magic too to make the spell even better and to perfect it more.
A loveheart colored red string surrounded the girls as their names printed on their arms. The name Jessica showed up on Josephine's arm in bright red and the name Josephine on Jessica's arm in the same brilliant red colour. They felt a magnetic tug to each other that felt electrifying, like they literally couldn't seperate from each other.
Jessica purred "Now we'll literally be together forever and no force too mighty not even that can seperate us! You're too perfect, too beautiful to let go!"
Josie purred back with "I would rather die together than let you go ever! You're the sole person that matters to me more than anything!"
Jessica smiled and said back "Me too, you're worth it! Better than anything! Better than even the most tasty chocopede pancakes with extra syrup! You're sweeter than that too!"
Josie said "You're better than even the best Annie-may Viddy-o!"
The two smitten girls chuckled together before feeling sleepy and decided to take a small morning nap together while cuddling each other in the same bed as they dozed off into each others arms, greeted by a comforting purring sound instead of any scary nightmares.
Marcy at the same time the lovestruck girls confessed their now-realised undying love for each other, headed to the bathroom only to hear what they were saying, talking about a spell that lets your favorite people stay with you forever and forever and ever! While she was happy for the couple, she was interested in the spell for other reasons.
She was intrigued by the idea and loved it in fact. Maybe if she could convice Anne and Sasha, then they could stay having adventures in Amphibia forever and they would never go back home, to stupid school or stupid parents who don't understand her. This adventure would never end. Plus Katrina said she would tutor anybody who took the same interest in magic as she did! This could be a really good idea!
Marcy pondered to herself "Maybe if Anne and Sasha and Josie have this explained to them, they would come to an understanding and we could spent the rest of our lives in Amphibia together. We'll never go back to stupid home when this planet is just soooo much better! I know I haven't seen the latter two in forever and even momma Yunan said she's tried to look for them but found nothing, but we will meet again someday soon! We will go and find them! and then everything will be fine!"
After the girls woke up in the morning a bit later after taking a nap, Marcy walked up to Josie and asked her a very important, possibly friendship changing question.
Marcy asked her "Hey hey, Josie, I need to talk to you about something very very important. This is top secret and only Andrias and my mommas know this so PLEASE don't tell anyone else okay?"
Josie said "I pinky promise I won't tell anyone else, I swear!" she and Marcy held pinky fingers to pinky promise she wouldn't tell a soul her secret.
Marcy took a deep breath to calm her nerves as she felt fear based butterflies in her stomach and prepared herself to tell Josie her biggest secret.
Marcy whispered "Josie, I..I told Anne to steal the music box when you were waiting for us at the park. I lied and said this was a birthday gift for her because it looked really pretty but the true reason why I wanted the box was because, my stupid heartless dad wanted to take me away from you, away from the 4 of us and seperate us forever, he said his new job was in a new state and he had to move away and he said that since me and Mikayla stopped being friends as kids when we visited New York City those times as kids, moving away from childhood friends would be easy for more, but even back then cutting contact with that Mikayla was still painful and this would be even WORSE! It would be life ruining! You 3 girls are the only ones who care about me, my parents only care about making money, thats why my older siblings argue with them and give them attitude! Without you girls, what would be the point of living?"
Josie GASPED at what she was told. "How...how could he seperate us? Thats horrid! I see why you stole the box and took us to Amphibia on purpose! Its not your fault! I was scared at first but after making so many friends here and spending time with you again, I see that this descicion makes sense! You're not the bad guy for not wanting to move away to some far away state you've never been before where you don't know anybody! Thats not your fault for having fear! And if you went back to Earth,you'd leave behind your Mommas Yunan and Olivia and your Dad Andrias and how could that happen? I'm sure Sasha and Anne will understand!" Josie and Marcy cried and hugged each other together.
Marcy cried happy tears and whispered "Thank you so much for being there for me, for listening to me and crying for me, oh Josie please don't cry! You're right, with some convincing, I think they'll come to see my point of view! You're such a good listener, thank you so much for being such a good listener!"
Josie replied "You're welcome! Everything will be okay so don't worry about it Mar-mar".
