Hollywood What If Chapter 251

August 3 arrived and the people from Sony-Columbia did their best for the premiere of Bruce Almighty. The cast of the movie, particularly Jim Carrey, Morgan Freeman, Steven Carell, and the others stepped the red carpet one by one. Presenting themselves to the media.

Being a scriptwriter of this movie, Kazir attended the premier as well. Just like the cast, he set his feet on the red carpet as well. In his left arm was Angelina Jolie in her sexy dress.

Even though he was only the scriptwriter, the attention that Kazir brought was tremendous. He was not an actor but the flashes of cameras.

The recognition he had after so many successful movies made his position as a scriptwriter elevated. Usually, only the director, the cast, and important guests would step on the red carpet.

Back when the premier of Se7en, Kazir didn't have the status to be part of the red carpet. He used the entrance backstage instead, ah, he was with Reese Witherspoon at that time.

Another reason why he showed up in the premiere was for the pre-promotion of Spider-Man. If you keep showing your face to the public, they will remember you and the stuff related to you.

'But I'm not wrong, people might remember the Continental Cinematic Universe movies more than Spider-Man if they see my face.'

Kazir always had a cameo in each movie of Continental Cinematic Universe. The production crew already set up a schedule for him to film a cameo even though The Fast and The Furious and John Wick Chapter 2 were still in pre-production.

"Good evening, Miss Jolie and Mister Kazir."

"Good evening as well."

"Is it true that you recommend Jim Carrey and Morgan Freeman for this movie?"

"Jim is the face of comedy movies right now. As for Morgan, I've worked with the guy and he's a nice and talented actor."

Of course red carpet would never be completed without interviews.

"Congratulations Mister Grey. Wanted to set a record for being the fastest-grossing movie of June."

"Thanks."

Kazir and Angelina smiled. Of course they were proud that their movie gained recognition.

The worldwide box office of Wanted had reached $753 million.

The performance of Wanted in North America had gone steady, earning a million or two every day. This was an obvious thing. Two months already passed and Wanted already lost its gasoline along the way.

Even the number of theaters that were screening the movie went down to 1500 theaters. The North American box office of Wanted was currently $431 million.

But it was different internationally, the movie just passed its first month of international release and it already grossed $322 million.

Actually, even though all of Kazir's movies were successful, none of them surpassed the $800 million mark. But from the looks of it, Wanted definitely had the power to do so.

No, the forecast believed that the movie could surpass $900 million or perhaps even $1 billion. If that happened, then Wanted would be the fourth movie that would have a $1 billion box office!

Kazir had been in this industry since 1988 when he worked as a crew in Rain Man.

Then he signed a contract with Carl Morin and filmed horror movies until WMA kicked him out of the agency. Then his ex-wife filed for divorce... Then the memories of his future life overtook him and he started his real journey.

'I can't believe that I will get to this moment, where one of my movies has the chance to surpass 1 billion dollars.'

This was one of the hardest things to achieve in this industry.

Kazir and Angelina went inside the theater to watch the movie.

...

...

...

The summer schedule was very packed, no doubt about that. Every week, new movies would be released to compete in this profitable schedule.

August was the last month of summer and the Big Six wanted to make sure to milk the audience with more tickets.

August 3 had three huge movies for the public to choose from.

First was Space Cowboys, distributed by Warner Bros.

Second was Coyote Ugly by Walt Disney.

Third was Bruce Almighty.

These three would compete for the first place.

... The winner on the first weekend was obviously Bruce Almighty, hah! We were talking about Jim Carrey here. Furthermore, the scriptwriter of this movie was Kazir Grey. Everybody knew that Kazir's scripts were always profitable. The only question was how much money they could earn.

The first weekend( August 3 - August 6) of the three movies was not that bad.

Space Cowboys grossed $18.09 million.

Coyote Ugly grossed $17.31 million.

The two had a good performance, too bad they met Bruce Almighty.

Bruce Almighty grossed $67.95 million!

There were lots of factors why this happened. Jim Carrey and Kazir Grey were part of the reasons.

Jim Carrey had a very strong box office appeal. When the audience found that Jim Carrey was the protagonist of this movie, they became interested in watching it. The movie was entertaining as well, it had a good word of mouth and people praised it.

I mean, the plot of the movie was about a guy gaining the power of God. He can do almost everything with his power.

In this world, who didn't want to be God? Who didn't want to have superpowers reign over humanity and rule the world?

Sony-Columbia already knew that they got the month of August all of themselves. Most of the heavily invested movies by the Big Six were already released before August such as The Perfect Storm, Mission: Impossible 2, and Gladiator.

The next schedule to prepare for was October and November. Speaking of November, Charlie's Angels was set to be released in November.

[Aight, gotta write two chaps tomorrow.]
