Chapter 14

Second Round

The Stage was being fixed for the next match. Freya and Jiro were talking about music as Izuku had disappeared to wait for the next match to start.

"Hey, Bakugo! Playing the villain, huh? Must have been tough." Sero said. Freya turned to see Bakugo coming down the steps and heading straight towards Freya.

"Even if it was just because of who you were up against, you did make a pretty convincing bad guy." Tsu said.

"Shut up, you idiots. Or else!" Bakugo said, glaring at Tsu and Sero.

"For real, dude. I don't know how you were able to aim a powerful blast at a frail girl like that. I couldn't help but hold back against Shiozaki." Kaminari said as Bakugo sat next to Freya.

"She completely overpowered you, Kaminari." Freya said with a smirk.

"Can't you just let me have this?" Kaminari said. Freya looked at Bakugo. He looked out on the field.

"Hmph. I definitely wouldn't call that girl frail." Bakugo said. Kirishima and Tetsutetsu were brought on the stage and sat down for an arm wrestle match to see who be facing Bakugo in the next match. They started and it was definetly a struggle as they used their hardening abilities.

"Come on, Kirishima." Freya called.

"Whoo-hoo. We're finally about to learn who the true winner is from the seventh match!" Present Mic said. Midnight and Cementoss stood in front of the two, watching ."Kirishima or Tesutetsu! Whoever prevails in this arm wrestling match will advance to the second round! Let's go!" Tetsutetsu's arm cracks. Kirishima let's out a yell as he brings Tetsutetsu's arm down.

"Yes." Freya, Jiro, and Mina yell, jumping to their feet and cheered for Kirishima.

"Kirishima is the winner! Add him to the bracket!" Midnight said. Freya sat down. Bakugo sat with his arms crossed.

"Hope you don't plan to play around if we duel in the third round." Bakugo said, not looking at Freya.

"You know I won't." Freya said. Bakugo looked at her as Kirishima and Tetsutesu shook hands in a truce.

"Good." Bakug said with a smirk. Freya smiled.

"Let's get through this second round before we know who we are facing." Freya said. Bakugo nodded.

"Now we've got a full roster for the next round of the tournament. Let's get the party started now, ya dig?" Present Mic said as Kirishima and Tetsutetsu walked off the field. Now it was time to see Izuku and Todoroki fight. Freya was nervous to see this fight.

"So the match hasn't sttarted yet?" Uraraka said. Freya's eyes widen at her friends face. It looked like she had been crying. Iida let's out a scream. "Oh, good!"

"Something horrible's happened to your eyes! You need to go to Recovery Girl!" Iida said.

"I already did. This is from, something else." Uraraka said, rubbing her eyes as she sits next to Iida.

"Ah, of course!" Iida said. Freya smiled at Uraraka. "If I were you, I'd be fustrated, too."

"It's no time to wallow. Use this next fight as a source of encouragement." Tokoyami said.

"Will do." Uraraka said.

"You're so wise." Iida said. Freya and Bakugo looked out onto the field as the crowd cheers.

"I can feel the anticipation in the stadium. And that's because the second round's first match is gonna be epic!" Present Mic said. Todoroki was walking onto the stage. "It's the guy who won his last fight by a landslide and literally left half the audience frozen." Freya rolled her eyes. "The hero course's Shoto Todoroki." Izuku came up onto the stage. "And this kid almost walked off of his first matchup, but made a stunning comeback by showing off some impressive moves! Also from the hero course, Izuku Midoriya!" Freya had to bite her lip. She was nervous for this coming battle as Todoroki and Izuku stared each other down.

"This is nerve racking." Freya said.

"Especially after that declaration of war before the Festival." Jiro said. Bakugo stayed silent as he watched.

"Tokoyami. How do you think this match will go?" Iida asked.

"It depends on whether or not Midoriya is able to get close to him." Tokoyami said.

"Yeah. That's the problem. How will Deku avoid the ice?" Uraraka said. Freya couldn't help but worry.

"You got this, Deku." Freya whispered.

"Both of the heroes-in-training have been frontrunners in the Sports Fesetival! But which one of these rivals will advance to the next round?" Present Mic said. Todoroki and Izuku got into a fighting stance. "Prepare for Midoriya versus Todoroki! Begin!" Todoroki sent a wall of ice towards Izuku. Izuku flicked his finger sending air towards the ice. The ice shatters and sends the air flying back at Todoroki. Todoroki stopped himself from going out of bounds by putting a ice wall behind his back.

"His finger is broken." Mina said.

"He's not gonna go breaking bones to beat Todoroki?" Freya asked. Bakugo sat watching with his arms crossed.

Wow! Midoriya managed to break Todoroki's insane opening move!" Present Mic said. Todoroki sent another wall of ice towards Izuku. He used another finger that wasn't broken to smash through the ice. "He countered again!" Izuku was shaking.

"Idiot." Bakugo growled. Freya and Jiro were watching with worried looks on their faces. Uraraka was nearly biting her nails.

'Come on. Find an opening.' Freya thought as Todoroki sent more ice at Izuku. Freya watched in horror as he breaks another finger to break thrugh the ice.

"He keeps this up, he's gonna break all his fingers." Kaminari said. Footsteps came and Kirishima showed up.

"Oh no. I'm missing it." Kirishima said as he ran over. He sat down on the other side of Kirishima.

"Hey, nice job making it to the second round, Kirishima." Freya said.

"Thanks, Freya. Looks like I take down Bakugo next." Kirishima said with a smirk towards Bakugo.

"I'll kill you." Bakugo said. Freya shook her head.

"Heh. Yeah, sure. In your dreams. No, but seriously. It's crazy how you and Todoroki both have moves that blast the whole stadium. Must be pretty nice." Kirishima said.

"Plus, you don't have to pause between attacks." Sero said.

"It's not as easy as you think, ya morons. If your overuse your muscles, you risk tearing them apart. If you sprint to much, you run out of breath." Bakugo said. He lifted up his hand and looked at it. Freya watched him.

'He's right. We have a limit to how much power we can produce. Like I can't make a huge forcefield yet without getting weak.' Freya thought. Bakugo sat up.

"Quirks are physical abilities, too. They can get worn out. You can't just use them nonstop." Bakugo said.

"It makes sense when you put it that way. I wonder if that's how Midoriya think he's gonna beat Todoroki." Kirishima said as Todoroki bent down and sent more ice at Izuku. Izuku gasped adn got his hand ready. He was holding onto it with a shaking hand. Izuku smashed though the ice and Freya didn't miss the pained look on Izuku's face. She hand her fingers in her mouth as she bit her nails. Todoroki took off across an ice path, towards Izuku.

"Todoroki withstood Midoriya's power and is now rushing his classmate!" Present Mic said.

"NO!" Izuku yelled as he broke another finger to try and stop Todoroki. Todoroki jumped in the air and Izuku jumped out of the way as Todoroki punched the ground. He sent ice after Izuku and it got his foot. Ice forms behind Todoroki. Izuku's arm lights up as he punches the ice, breaking through it. Freya gritted her teeth as she hears Izuku scream in pain.

"I can't watch." Jiro said, hiding her face behind her hands. Todoroki had saved himself with ice from going out of bounds. Todoroki pushes some ice out of his way. Freya saw ice up his arm and on his face. You could see his breath as he exhales.

"His hand is completely broken." Tsu said.

"Oh, Deku." Uraraka said. Todoroki sends another ice wall at Izuku in a fast speed.

"Whoa! Todorki continues his overwheming attacks! Could this be his finishing move?" Present Mic said. Freya held her breath. Another gush of wind happens and breaks through the ice. Freya gasps. Jiro was pearing through her fingers. Freya was nearly clutching Bakugo's arm. Todoroki was blown back and barely stopped himself from going out of bounds. Freya gasped.

"He used his broken finger." Freya said. Izuku was talking to Todoroki and Freya studied Todoroki.

'He's shaking. Did he reach his limit?' Freya wondered. Bakugo watched. He didn't care if Freya was clutching his arm. He saw Kirishima smirking next to him.

"So come with me with all you go!" Izuku yelled. Freya hated they couldn't hear everything. (AN: I know the show they can, but change it up.) Todoroki looked pissed as he charged at Izuku, but his movements were slower. Bakugo was watching with interest. Izuku came at him with his arm glowing. All the girls gasp as Izuku punches Todoroki in the stomach.

"A Solid punch!" Present Mic yelled. Todoroki ices Izuku's arm before he hits the ground and slides. "That's the kind of action I like to see! Izuku yells in pain.

"Damnit. He's gonna hurt himself more if he goes further." Freya said.

"She's right." Iida said. Bakugo stayed quiet. Izuku was swaying as Todoroki was coughing. Todoroki sends a wall of ice. It was moving slower then normal as Izuku dodged it.

"Is it me or is the ice not moving as fast as it was before." Kaminari said.

"It is." Freya said.

"He must of reached his limit." Mina said. Izuku and Todoroki circle each other and Izuku breaks his thumb to send Todoroki flying. Todoroki quickly recovers. Izuku gets ready for another attack. Izuku kept stopping Todoroki attacks till all his fingers were broken. Izuku and Todoroki were throwing punches and both were dodging.

"Even if he wins this match, he might have to pull out cause of how bad his injuries are." Shoji said. Freya couldn't help but agree with him. Freya watched as Todoroki sent more ice. Izuku put his thumb in his check. He sent both Todoroki and himself flying. Todoroki barely got up and Izuku was struggling to run. Something Izuku says distracts Todoroki enough for Izuku to punch Todoroki and send him flying back. The two were staring each other down. Ice was forming up Todoroki's leg.

'Come on. End it.' Freya thought. Izuku's arm glows as Todoroki just stands there letting the ice spread. Izuku punches him hard in the stomach sending him flying.

"This is getting bad." Tsu said.

"Your telling me." Hagakure said. Todoroki hits the ground and pulls himself up, but he was struggling.

"It's yours! Your Quirk, not his!" Izuku said. Freya gasped.

"What is he trying to do?" Kirishima said. No one answered as they watched. Everyone gasped as Todoroki's left side started to steam and fire burst out of his left side, causing an explosion of fire.

"Is that..?" Present Mic said.

"He's using his fire!" Uraraka shouted.

"Incredible." Iida said.

"Holy shit that is powerful." Freya said, shielding her face from the heat. Todoroki face and arm were covered in flames.

"Yes, Shoto!" A booming voice shouted. Everyone looked to see the Number 2 hero, Endeavor coming down the steps. "Have you finally accepted your purpose? That's it. Very good! This is the dawn of a new era for us. With my blood in your veins, you'll surpass me. You will live up to the reason I created you!" Shoto looked like he was almost crying. Freya didn't like the sound of what Endeavor was saying.

"What an ass." Bakugo said.

"Your dad isn't like that is he?" Kirishima asked, looking at Freya.

"No. He let's me choose what I want. I feel bad for Todoroki." Freya said.

"Endeavor offers words of... encouragement?" Present Mic said. Freya rolled her eyes. "What a doting father." Todoroki leaned forward and sent Ice from his foot. Izuku's leg glowed. Cementoss sent cement forward to try and stop them. Midnight opened her sleeve to release the dust to put the two to sleep. Freya's eyes widen as a wall of ice went flying towards Izuku. Izuku jumped in the air. Todoroki sent fire. Freya held her breath. Izuku got his arm ready. Cement blocks came in between the two and caused a huge explosion. Freya held onto her seat as air flew through the stands. Bakugo gripped Freya's shirt to make sure she doesn't fly out. Shoji was holding onto Mineta.

"What the hell is happening?" Freya asked.

"This is crazy." Kaminari said.

"What's happening down there?" Yaoyorozu asked. It seemed to calm down and Freya looked.

"What happened just now? What the heck is up with these students." Present Mic asked.

"The air around the ring has been thoroughly cooled down, and then rapidly expanded when heated up." Aizawa said.

"Wait, that's what caused the explosion? How hot did that fire get? Geez, I can't see a thing! Is the match still going on, or what, huh?" Present Mic asked. The smoke was finally clearing. Everyone gasped. Izuku was leaning against the wall. Freya and Uraraka jumped to their feet. Izuku colapses to the ground. Todoroki was standing on the stage with half his gym uniform burnt off.

"There. Midoyiya is out of bounds. Todoroki wins. He advances to the third round!" Midnight said. The crowd cheers. A medic team comes out on the field and wheels Izuku out and to Recovery Girl. Bakugo growls.

"What?" Freya asked.

"Nothing. I don't get to fight the nerd after this." Bakugo said.

"I don't think he would fight either way after those injuries." Kirishima said.

"Let's go see, Deku." Uraraka said. Freya nodded. They had to fix the stage after that last match. Freya, Uraraka, Tsu, and Mineta hurry for Recovery Girl room. They burst through the door.

"Midoryia!" THe five yell. A man with blonde hair sat next to Midoryia. Freya wondered who he was. He seemed familiar. They enter the room.

"Are you okay?" Freya asked. Uraraka looked at the guy.

"Oh. It's nice to meet you, sir." Uraraka said. The man turned.

"Uh, yeah." The man said.

"He's in no state for visitors." Recovery Girl said. Izuku looked at his friends.

"Hey, guys. Shouldn't you be watching the matches?" Izuku asked. His arms were wrapped up and his leg was in a brace.

"The stage was far to damaged. They're taking a quick break to repair it now." Iida said.

"That match was the scariest thing I've ever sen in my life, Midoriya. What pro's gonna want a sidekick that hurts himself?" Mineta asked. Tsu put her tongue on Mineta's face.

"Now you're just rubbing salt in his wounds." Tsu said. Freya shook her head. "Probably not a good idea."

"Hey, I'm just speaking the truth." Mineta said. Recovery Girl came over to push them out the door.

"You're much too noisy. I know you're worried, but I've got to focus on surgery now!" Recovery Girl said.

"Surgery!" The five friends shouted.

"Go on and get out of here." Recovery girl said, pushing them out the door. Freya didn't argue, knowing there was no point with Recovery Girl and she headed to the waiting room as Iida went to the tunnel. Freya sat looking at her hands. She couldn't imagine the power that Deku had that could destroy his body like that.

'He was quirkless as we all grew up together. Where did he get his Quirk. Something is not adding up.' Freya thought as Iida's match starts.

"Shiozaki is out. Iida wins the match." Midnight announced. Freya looked up.

"That was quick." Freya said, standing up and headed for the tunnel.

Freya stood facing Tokayami as thei r match began. Unknown to her Bakugo was standing in the tunnel leaning against the wall. He didn't go to the waiting room. He wanted to see Freya's fight. Tokoyami stood in front of her.

"Dark Shadow!" Tokoyami said. Dark Shadow came out of Tokoyami.

"She's mine!" Dark Shadow said, coming at Freya. Freya's hands glowed and a forcefield comes up and Dark Shadow hits it. He went back to Tokayami and Freya's eyes went Dark Purple and her hair went up as she unleashed the Capture Scarf. Dark Shadow disappeared and Tokoyami had no time t react before Freya had him wrapped in her capture scarf.

"I give." Tokoyami said.

"Tokoyami surrenders. Aizawa moves on to the third round!" Midnight said as Freya blinks and brings the Capture Scarf back around her neck. Freya smiled as the crowd cheered. Bakugo shook his head.

'Show off.' Bakugo said as Freya waved to the crowd.

"That was a quick one, but Freya Aizawa is definetly her father's daughter." Present Mic said, sending a smile towards his best friend.

"Shut up." Aizawa said.

Freya stepped off the stage and into the tunnel. Her smile grew when she saw Bakugo smirking at her. She thought he went to the waiting room, but she was happy to see that he came to watch. Freya ran up to him and hugged him. He was caught off guard at first but returned the hug.

"Your next. Good luck." Freya said. Bakugo pressed a kiss to her forehead, making Freya turn red.

"I win this one and we will both be facing each other." Bakug said. Freya pulled away and she looked up at him. "Better get up there." Freya nodded. Freya ran to get to the stands.

Freya ran into Izuku on the way up.

"Hey your all healed up." Freya said with a smile. Izuku smiled.

"I heard you won against Tokoyami. Congradulations. Sorry I missed it." Izuku said.

"It's alright. You were in surgery. Glad everything went well. Let's head up. I want to see who I'm fighting next." Freya said.

Kirishima let out a yell as he went after Bakugo. Bakugo barely dodged and got a cut from Kirishima's hardening. Baukugo caused an explosion.

"He countered!" Present Mic yelled.

Kirishima landed and was smoking.

"Hah. Nice try, but that's not gnna work on me, Explosion Boy!" Kirishima said. Bakugo gritted his teeth.

'He's still going strong. But how long can he keep his Hardening up?' Bakugo thought. Freya and Izuku came out and saw Bakugo and Kirishima already fighting.

"So Iida and you moved on. I wished I could of seen both your fights." Izuku said as Kirishima was throwing punches at Midoryia.

"I'm sure your mother is recording it. I'm sure you can watch it at home." Freya said.

"Your right." Izuku said with a smile as Bakugo dodged all of Kirishima's attacks.

"Bakugo's having a heck of a time dodging Kirishima's fierce attacks!" Present Mic said.

"Whoa. Kacchan's on the defensive?" Izuku said.

"He's waiting for an opening. Kirishima is good." Freya said. Izuku said.

"I guess Kirishima's Quirk seems simple on the surface, but it's still effective." Izuku said.

"Midoriya. Freya." Izuku and Freya turned to see Iida heading their way. "Excellent fight, Freya. You ended it fast."

"Thank you Iida." Freya said. Iida looked at Izuku.

"I take it that your surgery must have gone well. I'm glad." Iida said.

"Yeah. Thank you!" Izuku said. Freya saw Kaminari waving and her and she excused herself and went to sit with Kaminari.

"This fight is intense. You missed most of it." Kaminari said.

"I ran into Izuku on the way here." Freya said.

"Whoa. Bakugo is countering again!" Present Mic shouted. Kaminari and Freya look and gasp. Bakugo had his hand on Kirishima's side and there was a huge burn hole in his gym uniform.

"Oh shit." Freya said, seeing the pained look on Kirishima's face.

"But what's this. It seems to be working this time!" Present Mic said.

"You've been straining to keep your body rock-hard this whole fight, right?" Bakugo said with an evil smirk on his face. "But that means you're overusing your Quirk. And sooner or later, you'll fall apart!" A huge explosion hits Kirishima. He stood with arms in front of his face as the smoke clears. Bakugo lets out a yell and send explosion after explosion at Kirishima. Freya watched with wide eyes as Kirishima seemed to fall apart.

"To much." Kirishima said as he felt his Quirk wavering.

"The finishing blow." Bakugo said. He comes up and hits Kirishima under the chin with an explosion. "DIE!" Kirishima was falling back. "There. Now I understand why you were trying to avoid a drawn-out match with me. But I got my reasons for wanting to win this fight." Kirishima hits the ground.

"Kirishima has been knocked out. Bakugo is the winner!" Midnight yells. Class 1-A looked scared as they looked at Freya, who was watching Bakugo. Bakugo turned his head towards his friends. His eyes found her.

"Your next, Brat." Bakugo said and Freya read his lips perfectly.

"Fuck my life." Freya mumbled as she slid down in her seat, knowing her match will be her against Bakugo. Bakugo smirked

AN: Little bit of change on who Bakugo faces, but I'm sure some are eager to see how the two are going to fight. LOL. Til next time.
