Chapter 44
Stopping Overhaul
The next day. They all stood in Nighteye Agency dressed in their school clothes for now. Everyone was shocked to hear that Eri was being held.
"They're keeping this Eri girl in their stronghold?" LockLock asked.
"And by stronghold, you mean..." Fatgum asked.
"The headquarters of the Hassaikai. It's their leader's residence." Ryuko said. LockLock lets out a sigh.
"So you're telling me all that time we spent investigating was for nothing then?" LockLock asked.
"Not at all, we gained plenty of new information as well." Nighteye said.
"How did you confirm she was there?" Fatgum asked. Nighteye brought up a box that said: Gung-Ho! Glitter Squad 10 onto the table.
"A member of the Hassaikai visited a nearby department store the other day. He purchased a toy favored by young girls." Nighteye said.
"What?" Fatgum asked.
"That's pretty sparkly." LockLock said.
"Listen, maybe the guy just likes cutesy stuff. Different strokes for different folks, Nighteye. You wanna tell us what you're doing with one, though." Fatgum said. Freya felt like she was gonna get a headache from this.
"Yes. I was there when he made the purchase and overheard his conversation with the store clerk." Nighteye said. He explained the conversation he heard and how he used Foresight on the guy to find out the information they needed to get into the Headquarters.
"You ended up using Foresight anyway?" LockLock snapped.
"If you recall, I said I'd use it when our path was more certain." Nighteye said.
"Whatever, this means we've got the data we need, right?" Fatgum said.
"Yes. And we know for sure when they'll be there thanks to our stakeouts." Centipeder said. Bubble Girl nodded with a huge smile.
"We also worked with the police and already got a warrant to search the place! Next step..." Bubble girl said.
"Is to barge in there!" Fatgum said.
"Aw, man! That's my line!" Bubble Girl said. Freya sighed.
"Hey, Deku." Izuku looked at Freya, Kirishima, Uraraka, and Tsu. All three gave him a smile. The mission was finally happening. Izuku was happy to see Freya with no bags under her eyes and looking happy. Bakugo had walked them to the door after they ate and watched them leave. He was happy his two friends worked it out.
"Come on, Midoriya." Mirio said. He started waving his hands around like crazy. "We're all over this! Let's rescue that girl. Take down some bad guys! Yeah!"
"Whoa those moves!" Izuku said. Freya smiled.
"Everyone is back to normal.' Freya thought as Mirio shot an arm in the air.
"Aw, yeah!" Mirio said. Silence filled the room. Nighteye watched as the students talk. Aizawa watched them as well. Freya had a smile on her face.
'Least they are all back to normal.' Aizawa thought. The students were excused to change into their costumes. Freya pulled her gloves on. Everyone was ready to go. They stood outside the police station with the police that was going to help with the raid.
"As you know, Nighteye was able to use his Quirk on a Hassaikai member. Through it, he saw underground facilities, and we believe them to be this Yakuza group's headquarters. We were also able to confirm that the girl we're trying to rescue is currently being held in one of the rooms there. Although we were unable to map out the entire layout of the underground hallways, we believe the man Sir Nighteye saw took the shortest route to our target. This is the best intel we have at the moment concerning the Hassaikai's stronghold. It's the basis of this mission. Stay smart. These guys are dangerous, and we can expect them to bring their Quirks against us, full force." The chief said. He nodded and a man started passing out papers. "We're passing around a list of current Hassaikai members and their Quirks according to our registration databases." Freya grabbed one of the papers and looked it over with Uraraka and Tsu looking over her shoulder. "Commit this to memory."
'Solid information to have on hand. We're not going in blind.' Freya thought.
"We don't want to give them time to hide. Our aim is to identify and apprehend all members as quickly as possible while securing our target." Detective said. Kirishima looked at his friends.
"Thing are moving fast now: huh?" Kirishima said.
"You're energetic, considering how early it is." Amajiki said. Uraraka lets out a groan.
"I'm getting nervous." Uraraka said.
"No joke, first detective work, and now we're cooperating with the police. There's so much I don't know." Tsu said.
"It's all a learning game." Freya said.
"Right? So official." Hado said. Ryuko came up to her girls.
"That's true. Schools don't always prepare you for investigations like this. It takes some time to adjust. Freya's right. It's a learning game." Ryuko said, smiling at Freya. Kirishima and Izuku looked at the Pros.
"All the pros seem like they're pretty chill, huh? So brave!" Kirishima said.
"Hey. I haven't seen Gran Torino around here this morning. Do you know where he is?" Izuku said.
"Apparently, he won't be joining us today." Nighteye said. Izuku turned to his mentor.
"Uh... Sir?" Izuku said. The Detective approaches them.
"Tsukauchi's been keeping an eye on the League. According to him, it looks like they're on the move." The Detective said. Freya and her friends turn at those words. "Fortunately, we have plenty of heroes here, so we can afford to send Gran Torino."
"I see." Izuku said.
"Maybe we can take down the Hassaikai and the League of Villains at the same time." Kirishima said with a huge smile.
"Oh, yeah!" Izuku said. Izuku clutched his fist. "Let's go."
"Not yet." Aizawa said. Izuku looked at Aizawa.
"Ah... Mr. Eraser Head, sir!" Izuku said.
"Hi, dad." Freya said. Aizawa nodded at his daughter.
"I'm teaming up with Nighteye Agency for this. Do you understand me?" Aizawa said. Izuku nodded.
"Yes, sir!" Izuku said. The Detective stepped forward.
"Now, heroes. Things could get violent quickly out there. If you encounter even a hint of suspicious behavior or resistance, call for help immediately. We're up against gangsters who have avoided capture until now. It is imperative that each of you carry out your respective assignments. And stay sharp in there." The Detective said. He salutes the heroes with the other cops. "We will commence the operation at 0830 hours. Heroes, move out!"
They arrived at the Headquarters. The Cops were in front of everyone with some heroes up front.
"Once they've read the warrant, then you're free to move! I'm counting on everyone to act swiftly." The Detective said. Kirishima and Izuku were towards the front with their mentors. A cop goes to ring the doorbell when a huge man punches through the gate. Freya gasped. He had a beak like mask on his face. Fatgum had some cops in his arms after rescuing them. Aizawa sent a capture scarf and pulled some cops out of the way as Izuku saved a few others. Aizawa pulled down his goggles and Freya had her hand on hers. Aizawa stood facing the man. The villain looked at everyone.
"Whaddaya want? It's too early for visitors." The villain said, standing to its full height.
"He's huge." Uraraka said.
"How do they know we're here already?" Freya asked. The man was wobbling.
"That's good. I'm waking up a little." The Villain said. His arm started to expand. Ryuko jumped in front of the cops, putting her hand to her claws.
"Brace yourselves. Freya!" Ryuko called. Freya's hands glowed as she put a forcefield up around the cops as the villain got ready to attack.
"Why are you people here?" The villain yelled. He goes to punch and steam comes as Ryuko turns into her dragon form. The storm cleared and Freya put down the forcefield as Ryuko had the villain held from attacking.
"Listen to me. We shouldn't split up to many of our forces yet. The Ryuko Agency will take care of this villain." Ryuko said. She slammed the villain into the ground. "The rest of you. Go!" The raid into the headquarters start.
"Let's support Ryuko!" Hado said. Freya was already heading over to help Ryuko.
"Right." Uraraka and Tsu said as the girls hurry to help. The man tries to expand his body and Freya's eyes glowed Dark Purple and her hair floated up and it stopped him. The villain gave her a chilling look.
"I think we got him restrained enough." Ryuko said, pinning him harder into the ground. Cops came over and handcuffed the villain. Freya blinked her eyes as Ryuko went to her human size.
"Suspect restrained." The cop said.
"He went down pretty fast for such a big guy." Tsu said as the cops stood the villain up.
"Good thing." Uraraka said.
"That was too easy." Freya said.
"Rikiya Katsukame. Enhances his size by breathing in the life force of the person he's touching. Isolate him now, before he regains consciousness." Ryuko said.
"Yes, Mam'm." Cops said. Explosions were running through the building.
"Things are sounding pretty lively in there. We better get moving." Hado said.
"We're heading in later than I'd hoped, but let's catch up to Nighteye." Ryuko said.
"Right." The girls said. Freya suddenly felt weak.
"What?" Freya said, falling to the ground.
"Huh?" Uraraka said, feeling the same sensation.
"I feel..." Tsu said. Ryuko turned fast and saw smoke coming into the villain's nose. The girls were laying on the ground. Freya seemed to be getting her energy pulled faster than the others.
'He's stealing their vitality! Freya's getting hit worse because he knows her quirk. But how is he doing this? He's not even touching them!' Ryuko thought. The Villain started regaining his strength till he broke free from the restraints. He clenched his fists. 'Oh no.' Ryuko quickly changed into her dragon form as the man comes at her and punches her. 'So that's it! HIs Quirk's been enhanced.' Ryuko kept dodging his attacks. Ryuko grabbed his arm and looked at the girls. Uraraka, Tsu, and Freya were leaning against each other. Freya looked like she was almost asleep. 'He's drained them so completely, they don't even have the energy to stand.' Cops were laying around on the ground.
"Nejire!" Ryuko called, looking up at Hado, who was above them, hands outstretched.
"Yep. I'm going to a full charge!" Hado said. Hado sent a surge at Katsukame. He started to laugh.
"Looks like the drug wore off. So, I'll need to get a little handsy with you." Katsukame said, reaching for Hado. Hado looked like she was going to be. She hit him with a hard surge.
"Back off, you creep!" Hado yelled. Freya opened her eyes. The world was spinning, but she knew she had to help.
"Uraraka! Freya!" Freya and Uraraka looked to see Izuku standing there. "We need some backup, quick!" He points in the direction. "Underground, right below the intersection over there! The others are pinned down. We have to help them!" Freya pulled herself to her feet. She was running on adrenaline.
"Let's go!" Ryuko said. She jumps in the air and collide with Katsukame. He groans. Uraraka touches Ryuko and Katsukame. Ryuko was holding them. Tsu wraps her tongue around them. Freya quickly puts force spears under the girls, and they head for the intersection. They got to the area. "Now, Nejire, hit us with everything you've got."
"How are these stupid little girls still moving?" Katsukame said.
"We don't give up." Freya said.
"And no matter what." Tsu said.
"We always..." Uraraka said.
"Go beyond!" Hado said. Hado hits the villain with a surge.
"Plus Ultra!" The girls yell. They fall through the ceiling and into one of the tunnels. Freya let the girls fall onto the ground.
"Ryuko. You guys came." Freya turned to see Izuku standing in the room.
"Deku! Wait." Uraraka said.
"How is he in here when he was up above?" Freya asked.
"If you're here, who's the Deku we just saw?" Tsu asked. Freya had a feeling it was someone else. Yelling came and Freya saw Mr. Compress sliding down the wall.
"You got to be kidding me." Freya growled.
"Uravity, Mind Force. Look!" Tsu said. Freya gasped. Nighteye laid with a rock pinned right through his body. Freya ran towards him.
"Nighteye!" Uraraka yelled. Izuku ran at Overhaul.
"Take care of him. Go on!" Izuku said. Freya turned and saw a girl with silver hair laying on the ground. A rock shot up in the air, sending the girl flying. "Chisaki!" Overhaul stood on a rock, glaring at Izuku. He shoots up in the air on a rock.
"You filthy heroes screwed everything up!" Overhaul said. Rocks start falling. Freya quickly put up forcefields around her friends to protect them. The rock shoots towards the hole in the ceiling.
"She's coming with us!" Izuku yelled. He jumps in the air after them. Freya saw Overhaul had Eri. Freya gritted her teeth.
"Freya check over Nighteye. Uraraka. Help her out." Ryuko called. Freya tripped. She felt weak yet and ran towards Nighteye. She turned him over and had him sitting up. The wound was horrible. Freya's hands glowed as she used her force healing to look over the injuries. Freya's blood ran cold. They were not good.
"Ryuko. It doesn't look good." Freya called. Ryuko gritted her teeth.
"Eri." Freya looked up to see Izuku using the Debrees to get to Eri. Eri was holding a red cape that she recognized as Mirio's. The little girl had a horn on her head. Freya stood up and watched. "Eri!" Izuku was reaching for her. Eri jumped off and Izuku caught her in his arms. Freya sighed in relief. Freya's eyes widen as Overhaul reaches out towards Izuku.
"Give her back!" Overhaul said. The rock was destroyed, and stones move fast towards Izuku. Izuku dodged them, but he was having issues dodging them. Izuku moved with a sudden speed and Freya saw the rocks get destroyed. Freya quickly put up a huge forcefield to protect all those around her from being crushed. Once everything was done. Freya lowered the forcefield.
"Hold on. What happened?" Ryuko said.
'Izuku used his Quirk. Good job.' Freya thought.
"Where's Deku?" Uraraka said. Movement came and Overhaul was standing.
"Chizaki!" Freya said. Overhaul touches his arm and it disappeared and came back.
"I never told her what her power is, much less how to use it." Overhaul mumbled as he stumbled through the wreckage. He walked over to one of the Villains and touched him. The body disappears in blood.
"Not good." Ryuko said.
"You needn't worry." Ryuko looks at Nighteye who was conscious and alive yet. "You four are safe. At least for the time being. He's not going to target any of us. He'll head to the surface in pursuit of Midoriya. And Eri. Then he'll kill Midoriya. And escape." Freya and Uraraka gasp.
"We can't let him." Freya goes to run and falls to the ground.
'Damnit. I want to help Deku, but I'm still weak. Deku!' Freya thought.
"I foresaw it." Nighteye said. Ryuko stood up.
"We can't just sit here and do nothing!" Ryuko said.
"Given the shape you're all in, you cannot stop him. I'm sorry." Nighteye said.
"That doesn't matter." Uraraka said. She moved her hand around on the floor and rocks started going up. "I have to do something and help him." Freya struggled to her feet. "There is no future except the one you create!" A rock fell in front of Uraraka and she fell to her knees. A new form of Overhaul comes out of the smoke. Tsu was next to Nighteye.
"Froppy." Nighteye said.
"Ribbit?" Tsu said.
"You go help Mirio. He's on the other side of the wall. Through that hole. Uravity. Ryuko. Mind Force. I need your aid. Take me to the surface." Nighteye said. Ryuko looked everything over.
"Froppy. Go help Mirio. Uraraka stabilize Nighteye. Freya take Nighteye and Uraraka up to the top." Ryuko said.
"Right." The girls said. Froppy disappears as Overhaul jumps up to the ceiling and through the hole. Uraraka held onto Nighteye as Freya's hands glowed. She couldn't stand, but she was able to move the spear up, slowly towards the ceiling. They could hear the fighting of Izuku and Overhaul. Freya put a force dome around them to shield them from falling Debrees.
"Get Nighteye to an ambulance! Try to keep the spike stabilized in his stomach." Ryuko called.
"You got him?" Freya said.
"He's still losing blood. How bad is it, Mind Force." Uraraka said. Freya never answered her, and she knew what the answer was. Nighteye knew it was bad. They finally reached the top and Freya landed them lightly on the ground. Izuku punched Overhaul body into the street. She kept the forcefield up as a gust of wind rocks the streets. Freya stood up to see what was happening.
"Where are they?" Uraraka asked. Freya looked around. Nighteye looks up. "Nighteye?"
"But, I saw it. Chisaki succeeded and escaped, while Midoriya lost his life." Nighteye said, weakly. Izuku came out of the smoke. "That is immutable future. I saw it so clearly." Freya saw Eri strapped to Izuku's back.
"Mind Force!" Uraraka said. Uraraka pointed. Overhaul was laying bloodied inside the mouth of a body that looked like the villain that the Ryuko agency took down.
"But this is new. A different set of events." Nighteye said. Freya stepped forward.
'Does that mean we can change the future?' Freya thought. She gasped when she looked at Eri. The horn was glowing yellow. 'Is that... Is that her Quirk?' Izuku was panting and went to say something to Eri but suddenly a burst of yellow light burst from Eri. Izuku screamed in pain.
"Deku!" Freya yelled. Izuku fell to his knees. Overhaul yells as he lifts a hand up.
"He's still moving!" Uraraka said. Overhaul brought the hand down on Eri and Izuku. A gold light flows through the hand. "Is that the girls quirk?"
"I think so." Freya said as the two villains were ripped from each other. Uraraka jumps in the air and grabs Overhaul and flips him onto the ground.
"Gunhead Martial Arts." Uraraka said. Freya was watching.
"What is the situation?" Ryuko asked as she pulled herself up to the surface.
"I got Nighteye to a safe place! Deku's fighting Chisaki!" Uraraka said.
"Something is wrong. The girl is not turning off her power and Deku is screaming in pain." Freya said. Freya gritted her teeth as Eri screamed. Freya closed her eyes and opened them, activating her erase Quirk. The Gold light disappeared. Freya shut her eyes and opened them to see Eri and Izuku collapse to the ground.
"Fast work, kid." Freya turned to see Aizawa being held by Tsu.
"It's over." Uraraka said.
"Thank goodness." Amajiki said. Freya felt her adrenaline wearing off and black spots come in front of her eyesight. Freya collapsed to the ground with her friends calling for her as blackness took her.
