Chapter 6, The act of Love

Elsa was standing over the balcony of her ice palace late that evening. She came up, placing her hands firmly over the ice railings. She glanced out over the trees at the lights in the distance. The town which stood concealed by the forest. A world that was she did not know. A world she had she had left behind.

She felt things were beginning to change. Since they left the forest, she and the other entered a world much different then from their own. The people she loved were now gone. Unheard and unseen by those around them. And now the Man in the Moon told her to come this town.

But why?

He told her a great danger would come to the children of the world. That only act of true love could save them and it was here that she would find it. But how could she find it if she was unseen by those around her.

She felt so lost and confused.

That was, until she had met Jamie. The first person who was able to see her and who believe in her and came to visit her in the woods.

And... Jack.

They had only just met and yet she couldn't stop thinking about him. For the first time in so long, she had met someone who was just like her. And it was Jack Frost!

Thee Jack Frost!

Elsa narrowed her eyes. She placed her hand over her heart. She could feel it beating so rapidly in her breast at the mere thought of him. She felt so overwhelmed by these strange feelings which she had never felt before. Could it be that she was...

"No..." She said, shaking her head at the mere thought.

"That couldn't be. I mean, he is kind of handsome. But I only met today. I couldn't possibly be in love with him. Could I?"

She then glanced up at the Moon above.

"Is this why you brought me here?" She asked him.

"Is it really them?"

But even still, the Moon remain silent in the night sky above. Elsa frowned.

"Are they why you brought me here?" She asked again.

But even still, the Moon was silent.

Elsa sighed. She head a small lizard-like squeal from below. She glanced to the side and saw Burni, who stood over the railing. He came up and nuzzled her hand. She held out her hand to Burni, allowing him to crawl on. He came up over her shoulder, where pressed his head up against his neck, nuzzling her.

Elsa smiled down at him before glancing ahead at the town as she continued to ponder.

Was it really them?

Could Jack and Jamie be the act of true love which the Man in the Moon spoke of?

Jack stood perched over the roof of the Bennett's house, right next to Jamie's bedroom window. His hood draped over his head. He glanced inside and saw Jamie and Sophie playing in his room as usually did before the while, telling her and their mother about the day he hand with him and Elsa.

...Elsa.

For so long he had watched the Bennett family and had often had wondered what it was like. To be apart of a family. He had North, Tooth, Bunny and Sandy sure. But he often wondered what it would be like to have a family of his own. To have someone he loved and have children of his own.

Though he knew now that he was a guardian and was immortal. He would remain forever young while watching then grow old and pass away.

At least, that was until today.

Jack turned away, narrowing his head. He felt so riddled with feelings which he had never felt before. Since the moment he had laid eyes eyes upon her, he couldn't stop thinking about. For the first time in so long, he had finally met someone like him. Someone who had the same powers as him.

A second spirit of winter.

And even now, he could feel his heart beating so fast in his chest at the mere thought of her.

Jack stood up and leaped into the air as he flew over several houses. He then landed over the roof of one several blocks away. It was there he stood over the curved edge of the top of the arching roof top, holding his staff over his shoulder. He narrowed his head.

"Why do I feel this way?" He asked himself.

"Why can't I stop thinking about her"

Jack then paused. He turned and peered up at the moon above. He then wondered...

"Is this what love is?" he asked Manny

"Am I really in love with her?"

Though Jack knew little of what it was like to be in love, he wasn't one to believe love at first sight. They had only just met after all. But why did he feel this way about her? Was this really how those in love felt?

But as before, Manny spoke not to the winter spirit and remained as quite as the night. Jack sighed. frowning. Once more he was left to find the answers on his own.

Jack suddenly heard something flew above him and a flash of light from behind him. Jack glanced back and saw one of North's portals opening above him. It was then he saw several flying reindeer galloping overhead, pulling along a familiar sleigh. Jack squinted his eyes, curiously, lifting off his hood.

"North?" he said.

He saw the sleigh fly ahead and land in the town square. Jack leaped off the roof and flew ahead toward the town square.

Jack flew down between the trees and set down near the statue. Perched over the edge of the statue, he saw North, Bunny, Tooth and Sandy in the sleigh which had set down in front of Town Hall. North glanced up to him.

"North?" He said.

"Jack!" He said as turning to him.

North stepped out of the sleigh along with Bunny, Tooth and Sandy. Jack leaped down off the statue.

"What are you all doing here?" he asked.

"We got a problem." Bunny said.

"Pitch?" Jack asked.

"No, no," North said, shaking his head as he walked passed him.

"Something far worse."

Jack turned to him, squinted his eyes, curiously.

"What could be worse then Pitch?" Jack asked as he walked up behind him.

"The Spirits of the Northuldra!" North insisted to Jack, glancing back to him.

"The fifth spirit. They are here... in Burgess!"

"The fifth spirits...?" Jack asked.

"You mean, Elsa?"

The mention of her name caused North to turned back to Jack in awe. He knew it was her. The feeling in his belly was never wrong.

"Elsa!" he said.

Suddenly, North erupted into a joyous laughter. Jack of which stared confusingly, glancing back to Tooth and Bunny.

"I knew it!" He insisted to them.

"I could feel it. In my belly!"

Reaching down, her grabbed hold of his belly as he continued to laugh. Jack shook his head, holding up his hands as he came up to him.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" he said.

"Can someone tell me what is going on here?"

North glanced to Tooth, Bunny and Sandy, who nodded to each other in agreement. Knowing they needed to show him the warning which Manny had sent to them

Jack peered up in awe at the globe. The entire surface was covered entirely in ice and all the lights were out. But that couldn't be right. All the children in Burgess could see him when he was there earlier. And they all still had their powers. So then what was going on?

Jack glanced back to North, Tooth, Sandy and Bunny.

"What going on?" He asked, curiously.

"We think it's a warning." Tooth insisted as she flew up next to him.

Jack glanced to her, curiously.

"Warning?" he asked, curiously.

"Manny believes the children are in danger." North claimed to the winter sprite.

"Maybe." Bunny insisted to him.

Jack shook his head. They couldn't be saying that Elsa was the one who was endangering the children. She was friends with Jamie and seemed so timid and gentle around him.

"Your not saying Elsa is the danger." Jack said, glancing up at North.

"No, not Elsa," North insisted to him.

"Her powers."

"Her powers?" Jack asked, curiously.

North glanced up to the globe, peering up at the continent of Norway. From which once stood a kingdom which was forgotten by the rest of the world. And a forest which the spirits had came from that remained lost. He knew all that had happened long ago in Arrendelle and the two sister who ruled it.

"Yes and I'm afraid she might already be losing control of them," North insisted to him.

"She's already down so before. And now the world may face another eternal winter."

"Eternal winter?" Jack said, glancing to North.

North turned to him and nodded his head to narrowed his eyes, pondering. Burgess was covered in snow. Could she have cursed Burgess with an eternal winter?

"Wait, wait, wait, hold on a sec, mate," Bunny said, hopping up to them.

"You don't mean... it's gonna be like...?"

Bunny of which shuddered at the mere thought of it, imagining how hard it would be to hide his eggs. It was bad enough to have to deal with Jack and the blizzard of 68.

"Uh, uh!" Bunny said, shaking his head.

"No way, mate. I can't be hiding my eggs in the snow every Easter."

"Calm down, bunny." North said.

"Calm down?!" Bunny exclaimed.

"Easy for out to say, mate. Christmas is right in the middle of winter. How am I suppose to hide a dozen eggs in four feet of snow?!"

Jack turned and gazed up at the globe. Staring at the circular object cover in solid ice brought much worry and fear to the Guardian of winter. If Elsa was to lose control of her powers, it would endanger not only Jamie and the other kids in Burgess. But also all the children of the world.

Jack may be mischievous with his powers, but it was never at the risk of the children. And with Elsa already looking as if she was going to lose control of them...

It was right then that Jack widen his eyes, gasping upon the realizing. He wielded the same magic as her and he had no problems with controlling his. Maybe he could help her learn to control them.

"Wait, maybe not!" he announced to the guardians.

Everyone glanced to Jack, curiously.

"What do you mean?" Bunny asked, curiously.

"She has the same powers as me," he insisted to them.

"Maybe I can help her control them better."

North narrowed his head, pondering the suggestion. It was true the two of them shared the same powers. Perhaps Jack could be the only one who could help her. He nodded his head.

"Yes, yes," he insisted, glancing to jack.

"Good idea, Jack!"

Tooth flew up to Jack.

"Jack are you sure can teach her?" She asked, curiously.

Jack nodded his head.

"I'm sure." He said.
