The office was bathed in a soft, golden light, casting a gentle glow on everything it touched. Satoru sat across the room, his presence barely a whisper in the tranquil space. His blindfold concealed his eyes, but his other senses were acutely aware of the girl before him.

Kagome, with her head tilted slightly to the side, looked so serene in slumber. Her chest rose and fell in a rhythm that seemed to harmonize with the very essence of the room. The lines of worry that often graced her face in waking moments were smoothed away, leaving behind an expression of pure tranquility.

As he watched her, a warmth bloomed in Satoru's chest, a feeling he couldn't quite put into words. It was a mixture of protectiveness, admiration, and something deeper, something he hadn't quite allowed himself to acknowledge.

He marveled at the way her features seemed to catch the light, casting delicate shadows across her face. Every now and then, a soft sigh escaped her lips, a sound that seemed to ripple through the stillness like a whispered secret.

In this hushed moment, Satoru found himself inexplicably drawn to her. There was a vulnerability in sleep that even the strongest tried to conceal in waking hours. And here was Kagome, unguarded and utterly captivating.

He resisted the urge to reach out, to trace the contours of her face with his fingertips. Instead, he simply sat in the quiet, absorbing the sight of her. The minutes slipped by, but Satoru remained, content to be a silent sentinel in this sacred space.

A casual smile graced his lips without his knowing, "Really..even in this form you make it harder to deny it." He finally let his urge control him, her face feeling soft as his fingertips trace softly.

As his touch lingered, memories resurfaced like gentle waves. He recalled the countless times Kagome stood against the forces that threatened mankind, a steadfast defender with a heart that refused to succumb to the darkness. Satoru once found her ideals perplexing, an outlook that differed vastly from his pragmatic approach. Yet, here, in the quiet realm of her vulnerability, he saw a different facet of her strength.

He first struggled to comprehend her perspective, finding it difficult to believe in the possibility of saving curses, a notion that seemed far-fetched and contrary to everything he had known when he witnessed Kagome's genuine empathy. Her compassion extended even to the harmful entities plaguing humanity, a stark contrast to his own perspective. But this starkness stirred more than just curiosity; it became a deep warmth, rooted in growing admiration that he couldn't ignore.

In their first year at Jujutsu school, he seldom accompanied Kagome on missions. Yet when he did, he found himself not just mesmerized but emotionally moved. Her method of combating curses was a revelation, a departure from the traditional sorcery he was accustomed to. She didn't merely exorcise the curses, she purified them. Each purification seemed to bring a sense of peace to the curses, as if they could finally find rest.

Driven by a desire to understand, he questioned her.

"I don't know," she replied, "Maybe it finds solace. Anyone would feel like that when they find a remedy to an overwhelming feeling."

It intrigued him, her power and technique. And not only that, her power touched a deeper chord within his being, making him question his own perspectives.

Furthermore, her determination became a beacon that illuminated her uniqueness. As her abilities drew the attention of the elders, forcing her to reveal her true identity.

She was the Shikon no Tama priestess, whose duty was to guard the Shikon no Tama. A jewel that everyone thought was just a myth because of its power that can grant anything.

The revelation had sent shockwaves through the jujutsu community. Everyone who was born from a clan knows what the jewel can do. Its story was kept alive by a clan until now. To think an artifact like that jewel existed, let alone resided within the jujutsu community, left seasoned sorcerers grappling with the implications. The story of the Shikon no Tama once safeguarded within sorcery clans, was now thrust into the forefront.

In light of this revelation, the elders took decisive action. They ordered Kagome to remain at Jujutsu High, ceasing her participation in missions, for fear the jewel might fall into the wrong hands.

Kagome without a hint of fear, she refused.

She stated that she entered Jujutsu High to protect people who can't defend themselves for something they can't see. Not for seeking protection. She faced the consequences for disobeyed order with unwavering resolve. In that resolve, Satoru found a connection that went beyond the realm of admiration – it became a silent acknowledgment of shared battles, fought in different ways.

The news of Kagome's true self spread fast through every corridor, school, even among the clans. Whispers of disbelief and hesitant approach in the corridors, then the call from the clans for an unimportant meeting, Satoru watched as she navigated the newfound attention. She stood tall, unyielding, refusing to let the weight of her legacy crush her spirit. It was a testament of her strength, a strength that went beyond mere combat prowess. It made him admire her more as time went on.

The warmth enveloping him intensified with each passing moment he spent in Kagome company. Their conversations were a dance of ideas, a clash of perspectives that Satoru relished. He found joy in the challenges she presented, often concluding with playful teasing from his side. This warmth continues to grow stronger as he draws nearer to her, bringing a peace that he hadn't realized he needed.

And before he knew it, he found himself making an offer to the elders and promised to Kagome.

That he alone will protect Kagome until heaven calls upon him. This commitment traced back to the treacherous act of Getou Suguru, his best friend. The shocking betrayal had shaken the foundation of trust within the sorcerer community and he knew that Kagome would be the target to fulfill Suguru's goal. Her energy would be in the way, so Satoru makes a vow to protect Kagome from the lurking dangers of their supernatural world. Also they shared a dream to make a new Jujutsu era so he promised to her to join her and help her make a new generation by becoming a teacher with her.

He knew he would protect her with all he had, for she had become the source of his own solace. She was the calm in his chaos, the anchor he hadn't realized he'd been searching for.

And as he sat there, bathed in the golden light, he couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude. Because of her, their paths had woven together and he wouldn't have it any other way. Kagome had become his sanctuary, and he vowed to be hers in return.

Suddenly a sound of knock reached his ears, dispelling his internal monologue.

"Sensei, We are coming in."

Satoru stood up and looked at the door as the door swung open, Itadori, Nobara, and Fushiguro filed into the office. The noise of banter between Itadori and Nobara filled the doorway. But when they saw someone was sleeping the noise ceased.

"Even Higurashi-sensei can be tired huh?" Itadori said when he saw one of his sensei asleep, "I never seen sensei exhausted like this before, and it's only halfway through the day."

"Of course she would be tired." Nobara scoffed, "After all, she is constantly dealing with you and Gojo-sensei. It's a miracle she is still sane."

"What do you mean?" Satoru said as he joined them between Nobara and Itadori, placed his hands on their shoulders. "I'm delightful to be around with." He claimed.

Nobara snorted, "You wish sensei."

Fushiguro, who was watching his sensei, noticed a difference in his demeanor, "Is something happening sensei? You seemed…contemplative today." he is not sure if the word 'contemplative' matches with Gojo-sensei. Everytime he looks at his sensei, sensei is always so chipper.

Itadori and Nobara were confused when they heard their classmate ask, the two of them didn't notice anything different from their sensei. "Is that why you summoned us here sensei?" Itadori inquired, "Is something happen?"

Satoru chuckled at their curiosity, removing his hands from Nobara and Itadori shoulders, "Haha, maybe you don't know because today is reflection day Megumi. So you three should reflect on what you've learned from me and see if you can beat your seniors in the training."

The three students look at their sensei strangely, with Fushiguro finally asking, "Is that all you want to tell us?"

Satoru adopted a thinking pose, "Actually no. You see, Kagome, the kind heart she is, wants to treat you guys after training. But since she is sleeping….." He snapped his fingers, "Why don't you three buy for all of us instead? There is a new cafe near the station that Kagome and I want to try."

Itadori blinked, "Why don't you go instead, sensei?"

"Yeah. It's not like you're too busy to do anything, sensei." Nobara added.

"Naah, I'II pass." Satoru said, glancing at Kagome still peacefully asleep before turning back to his students, "Besides, someone has to celebrate reflection day, if you three don't."

"Is that day even real?" Itadori asked, turning to two of his friends, noticing Gojo-sensei seemed to take it seriously.

"No, it's not." Fushiguro sighed before heading to the door, "Come on you two, we have to treat Higurashi-sensei."

"Awww…Megumi-chan is so caring." Satoru fakely swooned, but it went ignored by the trio.

"Yeah, Higurashi-sensei always treats us with food after training everyday. It's our turn to treat her back." Itadori said, following Fushiguro to the door.

Nobara agreed, "You guys are so lucky that I know what Higurashi-sensei wants at that cafe. It was-"

"Hey wait! How about me? You dont-"

The door slammed shut before he finished the sentence.

Satoru sighed, shaking his head in mock disappointment at his students' antics. He turned his attention to the window, gazing at the sky. The clouds lazily drifted by, casting shifting shadows across the room.

As a soft breeze rustled the curtains, his focus shifted back to Kagome. She stirred in her sleep, a small smile playing on her lips, before..

"Satoru…"

To his surprise and delight, she sighed his name. It was a sound that sent a warm shiver down to his spine.

He couldn't help but wonder what she was dreaming about, what could make her call out his name in such a contented manner. The thought brought a pleased smile to his lips. Took a closer to her, he leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead after he swiped her hair gently. His lips lingering for a moment.

"Keep dreaming about me." He whispered, his voice a tender murmur in the quiet room. With that, he straightened up and returned to his seat, content to watch over her as she slept. Bathed in the soft golden light of the afternoon.
