Hey everyone. There's not much action in this one. It's sort of setting the scene of what is about to happen come the next chapter when things will be definitely be getting more action packed :) Hope you enjoy!

Since my last chapter got posted the release date for Digimon Adventure Tri was announced. It won't be airing until November and it's going to be a six part movie series, not a full season as it was rumoured. I'm slightly disappointed by that. I would have loved a full season, but I'm still excited for it!

BEST OC Maker: Yeah he's finally made his appearance. I enjoyed writing this one :)
Greymon Leader Batx flashpoint: Sorry to disappoint but there's not gonna be any biomerging, but don't worry BlackWarGreymon will be appearing again! ^^
Digi-fanCatt: I picked VictoryGreymon quite early on XD he looks really cool…. And not quite six months to wait, but it was getting close to that lol sorry! .
Hotspot the 626th: Yeah, I wouldn't mind him returning in Tri if they come up with a really awesome way for him to return.
Robot Wolf 26Z: Yeah definitely XD Yep, Gabumon won't digivolve to his mega form until a few chapters later.
Aldamonburst: Aww thank you :) I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, I'm super excited for Tri, bit gutted it's not airing until November though.
ZxturtlexZ: Thanks ^^ Myotismon's plans are gradually going to start to begin now.
Sweet Cari: Thank you :)
Sync The Dragon Tempest: Thanks ^^ Yeah, they think they've done good by taking the chest, but really things are going to get a whole lot worse XD
Anime Shogun: Aww thank you :)

Thank you to everyone else who reviewed. As I'm a little pressed for time when uploading this I couldn't reply to all of you, but all comments, ideas etc I have taken on board. As always I really appreciate every review I receive :)

Digimon 2.5 "Adventure 03"

Episode 45: "The Gathering of the Nightmare Six"

.:Unknown Island, Net Ocean, Digital World:.

Myotismon looked around the deserted and destroyed ruins that surrounded him. He had made his way to the area where he had left his three X Digimon to finish off the DigiDestined, but there was no sign of them.

"I overestimated the power of those three fools." He muttered to himself as he looked around. "They destroyed an entire army but couldn't handle a few humans…. every X Digimon I unleash on those DigiDestined is never good enough… and now they've lost me that chest."

He had arrived at the island so optimistic and ready to return to his rightful identity. But now all that had changed. Here he was standing alone, feeling almost beaten…

"We will retrieve it back, my lord."

The voice startled him, and he turned around to see he was no longer alone as Wisemon's book was hovering just behind him. "Wisemon… how did you get here?"

A few of the pages turned before Wisemon appeared from within, levitating above them. "You should know my magical abilities are always full of surprises." He paused for a moment as he watched his master turn his back on him. "What is your next move, my lord?"

"To be honest Wisemon… I don't know." The vampire Digimon admitted. "Every X Digimon I throw at them is never good enough… I seem to be gaining nothing, and they're getting stronger. I thought tonight would have been the night I finally put a stop to the DigiDestined… Tell me Wisemon, VictoryGreymon…. Is he the ancient warrior Digimon you warned me of?"

"No…"

Myotismon briefed a silent sigh of relief.

"But the arrival of VictoryGreymon only means they are one step closer to fulfilling the prophecy." Wisemon continued. "It is still not too late to stop it, but we cannot afford to make any more mistakes."

Myotismon clenched his fists and gritted his teeth. "I should have done away with that little brat when I had the chance." He thought bitterly.

Wisemon watched him for a few moments before breaking the short silence. "Come, my lord." He waited as the vampire Digimon turned around to look back at him. "Perhaps now it is time we reunite with some old friends."

"What do you mean?"

"You will see." Wisemon simply replied before he disappeared in a puff of smoke back into his book. The book closed before it began to float up into the sky.

Myotismon looked down at the key in his hand once more before attaching it to his belt. He then looked up to the sky in the direction the DigiDestined had gone. "You may think you have won by stealing that chest, but I will get it back. Mark my words." He threw his cape back and launched himself up into the air as he followed Wisemon away from the island…

.:Motomiya House, Odaiba, Palette Town, Tokyo:.

"Pepper Breath!" Agumon's fireball attack struck the front of the chest, specifically the lock, but merely fizzled out not even making a mark.

"Aw, man." Dawn groaned. "That's the fifth time now and not even a dent."

The following morning the kids were gathered in the Motomiya back garden with their Digimon. Dan was sat in the entrance to his treehouse with his legs dangling over the edge whilst Jonathon was sat underneath against the tree trunk with his laptop resting in his lap. Stacey was at the side of the garden leaning against the wall of the house with her arms folded.

"Move aside," Veemon said stepping in front of Agumon. "Let a pro crack that thing open… Vee Head-butt!" he launched himself forward and rammed his head straight into the chest, only for it to fly forward and hit the wall of the house, inches from where Stacey was stood and causing her to jump back a little.

The chest fell to the ground still unscratched.

Stacey turned and gave him a look. "Nice going, knucklehead." She commented sarcastically.

"Sorry… that chest is harder than it looks…." The blue rookie said rubbing his head.

Dan climbed down a few steps of the ladder before jumping down to the ground as Dawn retrieved the chest and brought it back to the centre of the garden. "What's inside it anyway?"

"I have no idea." Dawn replied as she placed it down on the grass. "But whatever it is, Myotismon wants it badly. He said it was very important to him and we'd be in for a big surprise."

"I don't like the sound of that." Tentomon said.

Dan knelt down and picked it up. "It's awfully light…" he paused before he shook it a little. "It doesn't sound like there is anything in there." He said before putting it down again.

Stacey walked over to the two goggle kids. "It could be anything knowing Myotismon, and it's only a matter of time before he arrives here in search of it. He's not going to let us get away with stealing that thing from him."

Dan frowned. "We need to figure out how to open it then before he does show his face."

Veemon took a step back. "Don't look at me, I'm not head butting that thing again."

"It won't open." Jonathon spoke up, causing the three ten year olds to turn in his direction. He had his head down looking at his screen. "It's made from Chrome Digizoid. One of the strongest metals in the Digital World. But this Chrome Digizoid is one I've never seen before. No attack can penetrate it. The only way to open that chest is with the key. Whoever made that chest didn't want it to be opened so easily."

"So where is the key?" Dan asked, looking to Stacey and then Dawn.

Dawn collapsed back onto the grass in a slouched seated position. "Myotismon destroyed it."

"Why would he do that if he was intending to open it?" Tentomon asked.

"I don't think he meant to do it on purpose. It was accidental. I think he was aiming for me." The Kamiya girl replied.

"So will we never know what is inside?" Gabumon asked. "Surely Myotismon knows if he has destroyed the key he too will never be able to open it."

Jonathon closed his laptop and placed it on the grass before standing up. "There are ways to pick a lock," he began as he walked over to the others. "It's a long shot, but it'll be worth a try."

"Like what?" Dan asked.

"Like hair pins for example. Do any of you have any hair pins?" Jonathon asked, turning to Stacey and Dawn.

The two girls looked at each other before Dawn shot back; "Do I look like I would own hairpins?"

"She has a point there Jonathon." His Digimon partner added.

"Hey my Mom does!" Dan exclaimed with a grin. "Bring the chest inside and I'll go get them!"

.:Tokyo Bay, Odaiba, Tokyo:.

It was the first Saturday of the month; which meant Ken and James were out on their usual fishing trip. This time they had stayed a little closer to home and were sat on the edge of one of the detached battery islands that was almost in the middle of the bay, right next to Rainbow Bridge.

They were sat up on the grass with their fishing rods hung over the edge whilst their boat was moored just beneath them against the side of the island.

The father and son were sat in silence, which wasn't the usual atmosphere, as their Digimon partners relaxed in the shade of the trees behind them.

"You okay son?" Ken asked, glancing down beside him and breaking the long silence.

James seemed to just stare down at his fishing rod, until he snapped out from his thoughts and looked up at his father. "Huh? Oh yeah, I'm fine… just thinking about stuff… mainly Centarumon." He admitted. He then glanced down at his D-Watch moving it slightly so his crest shimmered a little in the sun. "I know I only met him once, but without Centarumon's help I would have never gotten my crest… and he risked his life to save us against two Dobermon X."

Ken sighed a little before he looked out across the bay. "I know it's hard at first. We lost some good friends when we were your age… but don't forget Digimon don't die. They're reborn in Primary Village."

"But we're not certain Centarumon will be reborn Dad." James replied. "Jonathon told me because he was infected with the X Antibody and he was Vajramon when he was destroyed his data may be passed on as bad… What happens to bad Digimon data when it's deleted?"

"To be honest I don't know son. You'd probably have to ask Izzy that one."

James sighed a little and turned his attention back to his fishing rod.

Ken watched him for a few moments. "Hey remember the time we pretended to use Wormmon as live bait and a fish actually jumped up out of the water and tried to take a bite out of him?" he said, trying to lighten the mood.

"That wasn't funny." The rookie's voice suddenly barked.

Both Ken and James turned around to see the older Wormmon looking back at them disapprovingly. James smiled slightly before turning his attention back to his rod.

"You know, if you're not up to it today we can always head back home?" Ken suggested. "I'm sure your mother has plenty of fun chores for us to do." He added a little humorously.

James felt himself smirk a little. "No thanks." He replied. "Fishing any day. Mom's like a military sergeant when it comes to the housework." He added with caused his father to laugh. He then looked out across the bay, watching as one of the boats passed by them heading for Rainbow Bridge.

The boat was full of people, with a small group of children sat at the back waving at anyone on the shore.

James watched them as they waved at him, but his attention was soon averted when something caught his eye from just behind the boat. The Ichijouji boy squinted a little as he saw something white flickering just above the water. It wasn't until it began to expand a little he realised what it was. "Hey Dad, look!" He exclaimed jumping to his feet and pointing out across the bay.

"Huh?" Ken looked to where his son was pointing. There in the middle of the bay was a Digital Split. "It's just a Digital Split son. Surely you should be used to seeing those around by now." He said with a chuckle.

"Yeah but look, it's getting bigger."

Ken rose to his feet as he watched on. It indeed was getting bigger…. Bigger than the usual size of a Digital Split. The father and son watched as the Digital Split suddenly expanded more rapidly and opened up, and in a flash Whamon appeared from within it and fell into the water.

The impact from the large Digimon caused a surge of waves to expand across the bay, disrupting the calmness of the water and reaching the docks at the far side rocking the boats to and throw that were moored.

Ken, James and their Digimon all took a step back as the water crashed against the battery island splashing them.

"It's Whamon!" Ken's Wormmon exclaimed jumping up onto Ken's shoulder.

The water calmed down, and Ken and James looked over to see Whamon was just lying there, floating in the middle of the bay motionless.

"He looks hurt." James' Wormmon added motioning to the grazes Whamon was sporting on the top half of his body. "I wonder what's happened…"

"C'mon." Ken said. He quickly climbed down the ladder at the side of the island and stepped into his boat, with James following suit. They made their way into the middle of the bay and Ken pulled the boat up alongside Whamon's left side. That's when they noticed his left fin was badly injured.

"Whamon?" Ken's Wormmon spoke as he jumped down from his partner's shoulder and perched himself on the edge of the boat. "Whamon are you okay?"

Whamon remained still for a few seconds, before he groaned opening his eye just a little. His gaze fell upon the father and son in the boat beside him. "DigiDestined…" he managed to gasp out barely above a whisper before his exhaustion took over and he fell unconscious.

.:Palette Town, Odaiba, Tokyo:.

Mika Motomiya thanked the bus driver as she stepped off the bus at the end of her street. In her hands were four bags of groceries. She left the bus stop and headed down the street for home, only for her cell phone to ring a few moments later.

Sighing she transferred the two bags from her right hand to her left before fishing her phone out of her bag. She glanced quickly at the caller ID, seeing it was her boss, before answering. "Hello Mr Hamasaki."

"Mika! I need you down at Tokyo Bay right away. There's a large whale like creature in the water. Rumour has it it's another one of these monsters."

"…Another monster?" Mika replied, pausing a little at first as she continued to walk down the street.

"Yes. I need you down there to get as much information as you can. I know there is more to these monster attacks than the authorities are letting on. This is front page news and I want to be the first to have an exclusive report on the matter!"

Mika stopped for a moment as Mr Hamasaki ended the call. She sighed as she placed her cell phone back into her bag before transferring the two bags back to her right hand.

She knew exactly what these 'monster attacks' were. Her husband had told her all about the Digimon and the Digital World two years into their relationship after she had accidently discovered Veemon.

It just made it all the more harder when her boss kept sending her to report on all these attacks. She couldn't reveal all that in the press. Being married to a DigiDestined she had sworn to keep the Digital World a secret.

Reaching her house, she walked up to the front path and to the front door. She opened the door and stepped inside, closing it behind her. "Hey I'm back!" she called out to her son. "Will you give me a hand packing these groceries away sweetie, I've been called into work. Apparently a large whale has appeared in the-" she came to a stop when she entered the living room.

In the middle of the floor were the four kids and their Digimon around the chest. They were all frozen looking up at Dan's mother whose eyes soon fell upon the hairpin in her son's hand, as well as the small pile of broken ones beside him.

"Are those my hairpins….?"

.:Tokyo Bay, Minato, Tokyo:.

"Look at that thing, its huge!"

"That's the biggest whale I've ever seen."

Izzy and Joe were stood at the edge of the bay listening to the comments from the crowd of people that had gathered just a short distance behind them. The police were already there too to keep the crowds under control and from the edge of the water.

Izzy had been alerted to Whamon's presence as soon as he had landed in the bay thanks to his DDS, and after receiving a message from Ken stating the Digimon's condition he had called Joe to meet him there…. And when they had arrived they saw Whamon had grabbed quite a lot of attention in the short time he had been in the water. "Of all the Digimon to arrive here it had to be Whamon…" the Izumi man sighed, holding his laptop underneath his arm.

"Why couldn't it have been a Digimon that wouldn't be so easily spotted?" Joe added.

"Like Piximon?" Gomamon added poking his head out from inside Joe's medical bag. "Good luck trying to explain this one."

"Yes, thank you Gomamon." Joe said gently pushing the rookie's head back into his bag before he looked towards Izzy. "I know these Digital Splits are a good way for Digimon to escape the danger in the Digital World but sometimes it just causes more trouble for us."

Izzy nodded in agreement. "The barrier was almost repaired, and the Splits almost gone when Myotismon used the Spirit Stones to transform back into himself and since then the Splits have just multiplied. Although I must say we've been quite lucky. Despite the amount of Splits around the city not many Digimon have passed through them."

"Perhaps the Digimon have now learned what they are and are staying clear of them." Joe commented.

At that moment, Ken arrived in his boat and pulled up alongside the pier where the two men were waiting. "Jump in," he instructed. "Whamon's still unconscious." He added as Izzy and Joe climbed into the boat. "I see he's drawn quite a crowd." He said motioning to the people on the bay before he steered the boat around and headed back out towards the sea animal Digimon.

Tentomon was already there, hovering just above the water beside Whamon. "Just in time," he said as the boat pulled up alongside. "He's starting to wake up."

Whamon stirred a little before he slowly opened his eyes. His vision was a little blurred at first but he soon spotted the boat floating alongside him. "DigiDestined-" he began, but he paused as he cringed, realising the pain in his left fin. He then looked past the humans and noticed the strange surroundings around him. "Where am I?"

"You're in the human world." Tentomon replied flying down a little so he was in the whale's eye line.

"You travelled through a Digital Split." James added.

Whamon closing his eyes for a moment. "A Digimon once told me if I ever found myself in danger look for a small sphere of light and it would take me to safety… I had no idea it would bring me here."

"What happened? Were you attacked?" Joe asked as Gomamon jumped out of his medical bag.

Whamon paused for a moment, casting his memory back. Even though it had only happened a short time ago, his memory was a little foggy. But it soon began to come back to him. "Something happened… something I have never seen before… I was making my way towards File Island when I felt a force pass by over me above the surface. It was Myotismon."

Flashback

Whamon was swimming quite close to the surface when he felt something pass by over him. He stopped and emerged from under the water and looked up in time to see Myotismon flying away from him close to the water. "What is that dreadful monster up to now…?" Whamon muttered to himself.

Knowing it would not be good, the large whale Digimon gently submerged himself back under the water and began to swim as fast as he could, eventually catching up with the vampire Digimon enough so he could follow the trail he was leaving in the water.

He followed him for what seemed like a long time and Whamon began to tire a little as he tried to keep up with Myotismon's speed. But thankfully, the vampire slowly came to a stop.

Whamon also stopped and remained under the water. He looked up to the surface and saw Myotismon's blurred figure through the water. But then Whamon realised he was not alone… or at least he thought he wasn't. There was something small hovering just beside Myotismon and through the water Whamon could not make out what it was. He manoeuvred himself and swam back so he was directly behind Myotismon before he slowly and quietly emerged from under the water getting a clearer view. "A book…?" Whamon murmured to himself.

The book then opened and Wisemon reappeared from within the pages. "This is it, my lord."

"What is? We are in the middle of the Net Ocean Wisemon!" Myotismon spat back a little.

Wisemon simply pointed down to the ocean, and that's when Myotismon, as well as Whamon, realised there was a slight difference in the currant of the water. The small section of the water was moving slightly different to the rest in a sort of circular motion and would go unnoticed to passers-by.

"This is it. This is the entrance to the Dark Area." Wisemon finally replied.

Myotismon tensed up. He stared down at the section of water. This was the entrance to the Dark Area? The land he used to rule. The life he was robbed of and where all of his true memories lay.

"This is the weak spot I travelled through to find you my lord." Wisemon continued. "Only I know of this entrance. I had to be sure you were ready before I could show it to you…. And now, after what has happened I believe you are now ready."

"Ready for what…?" Myotismon demanded in a calm tone.

Wisemon floated back a little so his book was now in front of him. With a flick of his right wrist he turned a couple of the pages. "I was not the only Digimon loyal to you during your reign in the Dark Area," he began. He raised his hands and his two Space-time Stones appeared in each of his palms. "There are six Digimon down there who are waiting for your return. Six very powerful Digimon known as the Nightmare Six. Your army. Now the DigiDestined have stolen the part of your soul you so desperately need I believe it is now time to reunite with them."

Myotismon watched as the two Space-time Stones levitated up out of Wisemon's palms. They began to glow and a dark red aura surrounded them.

Floating back a little, Wisemon extended his arms outwards and took full control of his Space-time Stones. He flew up a little so he was just above them. He retracted his hands slightly before suddenly thrusting them downwards and firing his two stones down into the ocean.

The stones soared down through the water like two mini torpedoes until they struck the ocean floor and embedding themselves into the sand. On contact a large shockwave erupted across the ground.

Whamon flinched before hiding himself back underneath the water as he felt the ocean shake. After the shockwave came a low rumbling sound that gradually became louder as the ocean floor began to shudder and the water began to change. Whamon watched in awe as the water became aggressive and a large whirlpool began to form, separating the water until a clear tunnel was formed all the way down to the ocean floor where the two stones were still glowing in the sand.

Myotismon watched as Wisemon continued to control his two stones. The demon man Digimon moved his arms apart, and as he did a large crack appeared in the ocean floor as the two stones began to open the ground up creating a circular opening to a black abyss underneath.

Wisemon, still with his arms apart, looked down into the darkness. He then closed his eyes and using his telepathic powers he managed to connect deep down into the Dark Area miles and miles below the ocean floor. "Friends…" he began. Even though his voice was not loud, he knew it would reach its intended targets. "After years of waiting the time has now come. Our lord and master needs our help. It is time we reunited and joined together in this fight against the good. He is relying on you all, as loyal members of his Nightmare Six, to fight alongside him and finally destroy the good that plagues this world once and for all."

Myotismon had his eyes fixed on the opening in the ocean floor staring into nothing but darkness. Nothing was happening… he looked up and to his left to Wisemon who was still in the same position with his eyes closed. Growing impatient Myotismon growled and was about to snap when quiet voices could be heard within the black abyss, gradually becoming louder.

"Lord Grandracmon…" one of the voices echoed from below catching his attention.

The entrance began to rumble causing the ground around the edge to split in places. A force was ascending upwards and within a flash it blasted out of the hole, up the water tunnel and out up into the sky.

Myotismon watched as the dark ghostly figure, its body almost like a cloud of black smoke, swooped down and began to circle him. Another one soon followed breaking out from the Dark Area, then another and another until there were six of them.

Whamon, who had been watching from underneath gasped as he saw the six ghostly figures circling Myotismon and Wisemon. In haste he floated up and emerged from under the water to get a better look, but he broke through the water a little less quietly than the first time…

Wisemon quickly tensed up after hearing the sound in the water. In a flash he suddenly withdrew his arms from either side, causing the stones to close the Dark Area and return up into his hands. The ground returned to normal and the whirlpool collapsed in on itself all within a matter of a second returning the ocean to its original state. "I'm sorry my lord," he began after startling Myotismon with his sudden move. "But we are not alone..." He added calmly before he slowly turned around in Whamon's direction.

Whamon gasped and quickly dove back underneath the water.

Myotismon spun round, flinging his cape back and looked down to see Whamon's tail disappear under the water. He chuckled to himself as he watched Whamon turn and swim away through the clear ocean water. He glanced up to the ghostly figures still circling him and smiled slightly. "It seems we have a spy lurking below us… a friend of the DigiDestined…... Destroy him." He simply commanded pointing in the direction Whamon had fled.

"Yes, my lord." All six of them said in unison. They suddenly scattered in the air before turning and flying off in pursuit of the sea Digimon. They each began to prepare their attacks as they closed in on him, and just as they were on top of him; they released them…

End Flashback

"I have no idea how I managed to survive. I was showered with attack upon attack. If I hadn't spotted the Digital Split then I must certainly would have been done for." Whamon said. He cringed a little as he tried to move his left fin.

Izzy, Joe and Ken all looked at each other a little stunned. "What has Myotismon done? Who has he released?" Ken wondered in awe.

"I have no idea…" Izzy replied quietly. "Whamon, are you sure you didn't see who these six Digimon were?"

Whamon closed his eyes and shook his head slightly. "I'm afraid not. They were these strange ghostly dark figures. I couldn't tell who any of them were. All I know is the Digimon Myotismon was with referred to them as the 'Nightmare Six'."

"The Nightmare Six…." James murmured. "Has Myotismon got more Digimon under his command other than the X Digimon?" he wondered, glancing up at his father who simply looked back down at him worryingly.

"This is bad." Joe spoke up. "If these six Digimon have been locked underneath the Net Ocean then surely they must have been there for a good reason."

Izzy looked down at his laptop. "None of our research has ever come across anything underneath the ocean. If Digimon have been living underneath there then this is a major discovery." He said as he began to type out an email to Haruhiko and Jim.

"Just like a computer system there could be many 'hidden files' in the Digital World that even we don't know about." Tentomon added.

At that moment, Gomamon appeared from underneath the water after checking on Whamon's body underneath. "The bottom of his tailfin has a minor cut but apart from that he's okay."

"Okay, thanks buddy." Joe replied as he opened his medical bag and began to prep his supplies to treat Whamon's left fin.

Kens' Wormmon turned his head and looked back over to the edge of the bay. "What do you plan to do? The crowds don't look like they'll be disappearing anytime soon."

"Well we're not sending Whamon back to the Digital World that's for sure." Ken replied. "Not with those Nightmare Six on the loose."

Izzy nodded. "Agreed. Once Whamon is strong enough to move we'll take him to Tokyo Port. There are some empty boating sheds there where they used to store the ships. It'll be the perfect place for him to recuperate."

.:Kamiya Apartment, Odaiba, Tokyo:.

"What?" Tai was stood out on the balcony gently leaning his arm that was still in the support sling on the rail as he looked out over to Rainbow Bridge where he could just see the back end of Whamon in the bay. In his free hand was his cell phone as he spoke to Izzy. "Is Whamon alright?"

"He's fine. He was lucky enough to find a Digital Split. I thought you and Matt should be the first to know what has happened since you had a run in with Myotismon last night."

"He must have left that island and gone to release those Digimon… Izzy, we need to find out where these six have come from."

"I know. I've already sent an email to Haruhiko and Jim to start work on this right away. If there is another section of the Digital World hidden away under the Net Ocean we need to figure out what it is and fast so we know what kind of Digimon we are dealing with."

Tai stood up and turned to look back inside the apartment when he heard the front door open, seeing Dawn and Agumon had arrived back.

Dawn rested her bicycle against the wall, partially blocking the door to the utility room; something she usually got scolded for doing by her mother. She removed her helmet and hung it off one of handles.

"Well as soon as you find out something you let me know okay? The mood Myotismon will be in right now I don't want him getting one over on us. After we stole his chest he's going to be hell-bent on getting it back." Tai replied. "Thanks Iz'" He ended the call just as Dawn and Agumon stepped out onto the balcony. "Hey kiddo… you still not opened that thing?" he asked, shoving his cell phone back in his pocket.

His daughter shook her head. She placed the chest on the small table. "No. Jonathon says it can't be opened without the key because it's made from some super strong Chrome Digizoid metal."

"And we still have no idea what's inside it." Agumon added.

"Hey Dad," Dawn began as she sat down in front of the chest. "Whamon has appeared in Tokyo Bay. Dan's Mom's been sent to report on it."

"I know." Tai replied. "I was just speaking to Izzy. He was attacked by Myotismon."

"What?" Both Dawn and her Agumon gasped. "Is he alright?" the rookie asked.

Tai nodded. "He's gonna be fine. But that's not all. He saw Myotismon release six Digimon from underneath the Net Ocean. We don't know who these six are or how strong they are, or where they even came from. But I bet this is because we took that chest."

Dawn sighed and looked down at the chest in front of her, feeling slightly guilty that Whamon was now lying injured in the bay because of their actions the previous night.

"You know, I don't feel very comfortable having that in the apartment." Biyomon suddenly spoke up, appearing in the balcony doorway. "If Myotismon will be coming for that chest not only will it put our lives in danger but also everyone else in this apartment building."

"But we had no choice but to bring it with us. We couldn't risk leaving it in the Digital World with Myotismon." Agumon replied.

Tai sighed, leaning against the rail so he was facing the doorway. "She's right." He said to them. "We can't risk other people getting hurt if Myotismon decides to attack. We need to find someplace else to hide it. I'll call Izzy back and see if he can think of something." He picked the chest up by one of the handles and headed back inside, but he stopped in the doorway and turned to face his daughter. "Dawn, from now on take Agumon with you at all times. I don't want you going anywhere alone, okay?"

Dawn slowly nodded. "Okay Dad." Usually her father's overprotectiveness would bug her a little, but after what she had put him through last night he had the right to be and she wasn't going to protest.

After he'd gone back inside, the Kamiya girl looked out of the balcony and towards the bay where Whamon was. Her guilt soon disappeared and was replaced by anger. Another one of their friends had been hurt by Myotismon. Luckily this time it wasn't the same fate as Centarumon…. But how many more of their friends were going to suffer?

.:Native Forest, File Island, Digital World:.

The six ghostly figures had made their way onto File Island through the guidance of Myotismon. They tore their way through the forest, scaring most of the Digimon they passed. They continued on their path until they came to a deserted part of the forest that had been destroyed by the X army many weeks ago. They came upon a small but overgrown clearing where they began to circle around it.

Myotismon soon arrived. He descended down and landed on the ground in the middle of the clearing. He was soon joined by Wisemon via his book. It came to a stop just next to the vampire Digimon before it opened up and he reappeared from within the pages.

The six figures slowed down, taking their positions before they floated down to the ground surrounding their leader. Their ghostly smoke like bodies soon regained their true forms before their feet touched the ground, with their features hidden within the darkness of the overhanging trees.

They all immediately knelt down and bowed in unison to the vampire Digimon, before the first one, AxeKnightmon, lifted his head up. He stood up and took a step forward allowing Myotismon to see his features in the light.

"So what Wisemon said was true… this is what Azulongmon has done to you, my lord?"

The other five Digimon followed suit as they looked up and stood up straight before stepping into the light.

Myotismon looked around, turning a full circle as he took in the mega Digimon that surrounded him. A small smile appeared on his face, and it soon grew as he eyed each of the six Digimon as he began to remember them. "My friends… It's been years… but now that I have regained my memories it feels like only yesterday since I saw you last."

"We have been waiting patiently for your return." Tactimon replied with a bow.

"Our loyalty is still as strong as it was since the day you left the Dark Area, my lord." ChaosGallentmon added.

ShadowSeraphimon nodded in agreement. "And now we have seen for ourselves what Azulongmon has done to you it is time we avenged you, master."

The others also nodded.

"Azulongmon can wait." Myotismon finally spoke, causing the Nightmare Six to look on in surprise. "He may have trapped me inside this weaker body, but right now I have much bigger fish to fry."

"There is someone bigger than Azulongmon?" AxeKnightmon questioned.

"Our lord has been plagued by a group known as the DigiDestined." Wisemon spoke up. "The battle between them has gone on for many years. That is why I have called upon you today."

"Do not fear my lord." Dianamon, the only female of the six, spoke up. "No Digimon can stand up to the likes of us. Show us where we can find these 'DigiDestined' and we will soon put a stop to them."

"These DigiDestined are not Digimon, they are humans." Wisemon corrected her.

"Humans?" Craniamon, the last of the six to speak, wondered. "What is a human?"

Myotismon clenched his fists a little. "Humans are interfering creatures who live in another world called Earth. They have this special, sickening bond with Digimon allowing their Digimon partners to digivolve into higher and more powerful forms. For years they have foiled my plans and now the next generation have stepped right into their parents' footsteps."

"Over the years they have gained allies and many of the Digimon in the Digital World respect them for protecting this world." Wisemon added.

AxeKnightmon snarled. "Digimon have become so weak they have to rely on other creatures to protect them? It should be survival of the fittest. If you are not strong enough to survive with the best, then you do not live."

Dianamon smirked. "Apparently it seems times have changed, AxeKnightmon." She said, earning another snarl from him.

"The Digital World seems to be worse than we originally thought. If Azulongmon hadn't of interfered with your plans to take over this world then it wouldn't be in the state it is in now." Tactimon commented.

ShadowSeraphimon huffed. "All this 'good' is making me sick. Weak Digimon cannot live alongside the strong."

"I think it's time we showed the rest of the Digimon how to live by the rules of the Dark Area." ChaosGallentmon added, with the rest nodding in agreement.

"We are digressing." Wisemon interrupted calmly, catching the attention of all six Digimon. "If we are to take command of this world we need to firstly eliminate the DigiDestined."

Myotismon nodded. "They are what are standing between us and victory. Once they are out of the way then the Digital World will crumble…. Can I trust you will not let me down? Many Digimon in the past have fallen victim to the DigiDestined, including myself. I cannot afford to lose again."

AxeKnightmon smiled a little smugly. "In case you have forgotten my lord, even the Seven Great Demon Lords fear us."

"Whatever Digimon those DigiDestined have faced in the past, it will be nothing compared to when they face us." ShadowSeraphimon added.

Myotismon smiled, his confidence now returned. Now reunited with his old army, he was beginning to feel victory was within his reach once again.

"Lead us to them and we will show you what we are capable of." Dianamon spoke up.

Wisemon raised his right hand, gathering their attention once again. "We must not rush into this. The situation is far more complicated than simply wiping out a group of humans."

"How so?" Tactimon questioned.

"Firstly, the DigiDestined have stolen something of mine. The very piece of my soul that is preventing me from returning to my rightful form." Myotismon began to explain. "I want that chest back, and I want to be able to see the fear in their eyes as they look upon me as Grandracmon. They have had no idea who they have been dealing with all these years and I want them to know before they perish."

Dianamon smirked a little. "You should know my lord, AxeKnightmon is not patient Digimon."

Myotismon turned to his left to look at the mega Digimon in question.

Just at that moment, AxeKnightmon caught the sound of a twig snapping on the ground. He turned around and caught sight of a lone Shamanmon that had wandered into the clearing in between two tree trunks. Before the rookie had chance to turn and run, AxeKnightmon fired a single blast from the tip of his spear that obliterated the defenceless Digimon instantly. He smiled lowering his smoking spear.

Myotismon grinned, impressed by the ability of AxeKnightmon to simply destroy without question or hesitation. "I like your arrogance. But I ask only this once to follow my orders. I want to make those DigiDestined suffer for all the years they have tormented me. I want the ultimate revenge on them… especially two of them."

"We understand, my lord." Craniamon replied with a bow.

ShadowSeraphimon nodded in agreement. "Anyone who dares to challenge you master will feel our wrath. We will defend you with great honour."

"Good." Myotismon said, still smiling. "I won't deny my confidence had been knocked after their latest attack against me. But now you are here, that confidence has been restored. Come morning, our aim is simple…"

The Nightmare Six all nodded before adding in unison; "Destroy the DigiDestined."
