Hey everyone, apologies for the delay in getting this chapter done. I was super busy at work over Christmas which put me well behind with this. I think chapters will be pretty packed from now on so they are going to be quite longer than usual :)
Flurry of Freezing Flames: thanks! I know I'd love to see VictoryGreymon and ZeedGarurumon in the tv series.
Sync the Dragon Tempest: thanks :) Yeah there's a lot happening now so there's a ton of stuff I need to cram into each chapter
Sweet Cari: Thank you :) I thought it would be the perfect time to have Stacey's mother turn up as it was such a bad time lol
DinoGuy2000: There's gonna be a few more fights in this chapter too :)
Greymon Leader Batx flashpoint: Thanks :) can't believe I've reached 50 XD It was planned to have about 54-55 chapters but I think it's going to go beyond that
BlazingCourage: Dawn and Stacey are definitely like their fathers XD I know of Dragon ball but I haven't watched any of it. I keep meaning to though.
K-fanfics: I think most of my chapters now are going to be quite long. There is a lot to cram in now! XD
StickInc: Thanks. That would be awesome to see my characters animated :D
BJuneC: the baby would have been called Lisa but I had been contemplating changing the name to Ruby before I decided not to go ahead with it.
RSBCS: Thanks I'm glad you're enjoying it :) I always wanted to add Stacey's mother returning and I thought that would be the perfect time to do it. Sora's still quite a way off I'm afraid XD
Supernaturalfan17980: Thank you :)
Raising Heart: I do have plans for the sort of mini epilogue at the end :)
Digimon 2.5 "Adventure 03"
Episode 50: "An Act of Kindness"
.:Pacific Ocean:.
Sora sighed as she stared out of the plane's window, looking down at the ocean below. She had been a little restless for the past hour, fidgeting in her seat a little. But she knew she had to be patient as it was at least a fourteen-hour flight back to Tokyo.
They had left America behind and were now travelling across the Pacific Ocean. The sky was clear and all that could be seen for miles were the seemingly endless stretch of two shades of blue that merged together on the skyline.
Willis' two Digimon; Terriermon and Lopmon, were napping a few seats behind them.
"You okay?"
Sora turned her attention away from the window as Willis broke the lengthy silence. She sighed once more. "Yes…. Sorry I just can't seem to relax. Knowing Myotismon is freely roaming around Odaiba again… I just want to get back home as soon as possible and know if everyone is okay."
"I understand," Willis replied. He paused for a moment before smiling a little. "You know, the last time I saw some of the others was at Davis' wedding in Miami. It will be nice to see them again, despite the circumstances of course."
The bearer of Love smiled slightly. "I really appreciate this Willis. I hope your family didn't mind you travelling half way across the world."
"Don't worry, they understand the situation. They're used to me flying long haul journeys and being away for some time. Believe it or not, Ruben wanted to come too." He said, referring to his nine-year old son. "He's always had a taste for action. Megan wouldn't allow it though."
"Sounds like my daughter." Sora smiled. "She's just like her father; she always seems to land herself in some sort of trouble…. But I never would have dreamt our children would have to go through the same thing we had to when we were their age. I never thought they would have to face Myotismon like we did…" she said with a sigh before she gazed out of the window once more. She hoped, this one time, just this once, Dawn would be safe…
.:Symbol Promenade Park, Odaiba, Tokyo:.
ShadowSeraphimon chuckled. "Did you seriously think you were able to destroy my henchmen and escape back into your hiding place?"
Dawn and Agumon stared up at the mega Digimon towering over them. They both slowly got to their feet, backing up until they were out of his shadow. "What do you want?" The rookie Digimon said darkly as he moved protectively in front of his partner.
ShadowSeraphimon chuckled. "I must admit when I first laid eyes on you humans I questioned why our lord had struggled for so long to dispose of you DigiDestined. But after seeing you fight Breakdramon X I now understand why."
"Myotismon just doesn't know when to quit!" Dawn shot back, her fists clenched. "He's lost the last two battles and he's gonna lose the third, even with the help of you and the other five losers!"
The mega Digimon's expression changed; unimpressed with the insult thrown at him. "You, and the rest of the DigiDestined, have no idea who you are dealing with," he threatened. "There is more to our lord than you think. If you knew our history, and the Digimon that have cowered within our presence, you wouldn't be standing there as arrogantly as you are right now."
Dawn and Agumon backed up slowly, edging further away from the mega Digimon as they continued to glare up at him. Dawn placed a hand on her digivice. "Ready to go again Agumon?" she quickly released her digital ring and placed it inside her crest….
"AGUMON WARP DIGIVOLVE TO… VICTORYGREYMON!"
VictoryGreymon launched himself towards ShadowSeraphimon, wielding his giant sword. He raised it above his head as he prepared to strike…
ShadowSeraphimon quickly folded his arms across his chest before he flung them outwards, unleashing an invisible shockwave.
The shockwave overwhelmed VictoryGreymon briefly stunning him and halting his charge.
ShadowSeraphimon swiftly dealt three powerful blows to VictoryGreymon in the abdomen, face and chest. He then backed away and stretched his arms up towards the sky and summoned bolts of lightning.
The lightning thundered down, attacking VictoryGreymon. He wailed in pain as the electricity surged through his body. Once the attack had ceased, he was finished off by ShadowSeraphimon charging forward and unleashing a fourth and final blow from point blank range. VictoryGreymon fell to the ground, de-digivolving back to Agumon as he slid to a slow stop beside his partner.
"Agumon!" Dawn gasped in awe, not quite believing how quickly her partner had just been taken out…
"I didn't even break out in a sweat," ShadowSeraphimon said with a chuckle as he descended to the ground, hovering just a few inches above it. "I'm not wasting my energy fighting you two, especially when I can't destroy you both."
Dawn unclipped her digivice from her belt. "Well we're not afraid to destroy you! We'll just keep on digivolving again!" she declared as Agumon got up onto his feet next to her.
"Not without that little gadget you won't," ShadowSeraphimon growled. Before Dawn had chance to react, he quickly formed a bolt of lightning and flung it towards her. The bolt struck Dawn's wrist, causing her Digivice to fly out of her hand.
"Hey!" Dawn spun around to see her D-Power land a good few hundred yards away on the grass right up against the fence that separated the park and the car park. She glared up at ShadowSeraphimon. "That wasn't fair!"
The mega Digimon chuckled once more. "I'm just saving you the embarrassment of losing to me again."
"I'm just warming up!" Agumon growled. He charged forward about to unleash his Claw Upper Cut attack in an attempt to distract him.
Dawn took the opportunity to make a break for her digivice. She spun round and ran as fast as she could towards the grass where it lay.
"I don't think so…" ShadowSeraphimon muttered. He raised his right arm and swatted Agumon away as if he were a fly. He then turned around so he was facing Dawn and fired a small dark sphere from the palm of his hand.
The sphere struck her, just as she was about to stretch her arm out to grab her digivice. Her body was then surrounded by a dark aura that prevented her from moving. "H-hey!" she tried to move closer to her D-Power, but it was useless. It was like she was frozen stiff.
ShadowSeraphimon floated over towards her from behind. He stretched his arm out and with his forefinger he touched the dark aura, causing it to disappear, and before Dawn could fall, he grabbed her by the back of the neckline of her t-shirt.
"Hey let me go!"
"Put her down!" Agumon demanded. "Pepper Breath!"
The attack hit ShadowSeraphimon on the side of his shoulder. Upon impact, it simply fizzled out without leaving a mark. "Was that supposed to hurt? That didn't even tickle me." He mocked. He then extended his arm outwards again and fired another dark sphere, trapping Agumon in the same dark aura.
"Agumon!" Dawn exclaimed as ShadowSeraphimon repeated the same action he had done with her and grabbed hold of her partner; his large hand grasped tightly around the rookie's body trapping his arms. Dawn continued to struggle in a hopeless attempt to free herself as she looked down to where her digivice lay. "Put me down!"
"I have orders to bring all of you DigiDestined back to the castle… So, I would save your strength," ShadowSeraphimon advised. "You cannot escape, so I suggest you just relax and enjoy the short journey." He then ascended into the air gliding over the tops of the trees in the park.
Dawn looked back, staring down at where her digivice lay. This was bad. If they were going to be facing Myotismon again, how were they going to defend themselves without her digivice?
.:Tamachi Station, Tamachi, Tokyo:.
"Spiking Strike!" Stingmon formed the large spike on his right arm and swooped down, slashing through the three BlueMeramon X that were standing in his way.
"Grand Horn!" Aquilamon charged down from the sky, taking out the two BlueMeramon X that were situated on the roof of the strain station.
The two X Digimon lost their balance and fell from the roof, hitting the ground below where Stingmon was waiting with his Spiking Strike attack. With two swift stabs, they were gone.
"According to Izzy these are the last Digimon in this area that have been spotted through social media. Maybe now is a good time to return to the kids back at the station." Yolei said.
Ken nodded in agreement. "There's no point in looking for more Digimon whose whereabouts we're not sure of. Besides, the sun is starting to set. It'll be more difficult when it's dark." Just then, his cell phone began to ring in his pocket. He pulled it out and looked at the caller ID. "Oh, it's Izzy," he said before answering the call and putting it on speaker phone. "Hey Izzy. I was just about to call you. We've just finished dealing with the last Digimon at Tamachi station."
"That's great. There's just one more that appeared a moment ago, about a mile south of your location. But Ken, I need you and Wormmon to come to my lab right away. We need your help. I'll explain more once you get here."
"Don't worry me and Aquilamon will take care of that other Digimon." Yolei replied.
"Stingmon and I will be there as soon as we can." Ken added before he ended the call.
"That sounded like an emergency." Stingmon said as he and Aquilamon approached their partners.
Ken nodded before turning to his wife. "Honey, after you've dealt with that Digimon head back to the kids at the station. I'll call and let you know more once I arrive at the lab." He said as Stingmon picked him up.
"Alright, be careful." Yolei replied as she climbed up onto Aquilamon's back before both Digimon ascended into the air, travelling in opposite directions.
.:Tamachi Police Station, Tamachi, Minato, Tokyo:.
At the police station James and Katie were inside Ken's office with their partners. James was sat on his father's desk streaming the news report on the computer with Wormmon whilst Katie was standing at the window; her face pressed against the glass.
She sighed, moving her face away from the glass before she turned towards her brother. "Mommy and Daddy have been gone a while. Do you think they're okay?" she asked.
Her brother nodded. "There are a lot of Digimon out there Katie. They'll have a lot of work to do. But don't worry, they'll be fine." He looked up from the computer screen and noticed the frown on his sister's face. "Hey, you thirsty? There's a vending machine down the hallway by the squad room. I could get us a snack too if you want."
Katie's frown soon disappeared and was replaced with a smile. "Okay."
"Potato chips sound good." Hawkmon spoke up.
James rose from his chair, fishing out some money from his pocket. "Okay. I won't be long." he said, as he and Wormmon left the office.
Katie resumed her watch at the window. Her father's office looked out onto the main street, which was empty. Despite there being numerous reports of Digimon all over the city Katie couldn't see any at all.
Just then something caught her eye. Something moving in the shadows further down the street. She watched as the figure headed towards the station on the opposite side along the sidewalk. The figure passed by underneath a streetlamp, which just happened to turn on at that moment; revealing his identity.
Katie gasped in shock. "Hawkmon look!"
Hawkmon made her way over to the window, jumping up onto a vacant chair so she could see over the window ledge to where her partner was currently pointing with her finger pressed against the glass. "Makuramon?!" The rookie exclaimed in shock. "What's he doing here?"
"I don't know…" Katie replied as she continued to watch him carefully. He seemed anxious, almost even frightened. He was looking in every direction possible as he made his way down the sidewalk. A car drove past, startling him back into the bushes. "He looks lost." She added. "And scared."
Hawkmon sighed, knowing what was going through her partner was thinking. "You want to go and help him, don't you?" she asked, to which Katie nodded in return. "Katie, may I remind you he still hasn't thanked us for the last time we helped him."
"I know Hawkmon. But we can't leave him out there lost. If he runs into a bad Digimon he won't stand a chance. I know he wasn't very nice to us in the end the last time we saw him but we can't let him get caught by Myotismon."
The rookie Digimon sighed, watching as Makuramon timidly stumbled along the sidewalk. "Alright…" she said. "But what about James and Wormmon?"
Outside Ken's office down the hallway, James had since visited the vending machine and was now standing beside one of the desks in squad room opposite, holding a bag a potato chips and two cups of orange juice in his hands.
One of the older policemen had spotted and recognised James, calling him over to his desk and was now telling him stories of when he used to remember Ken bringing James in as a baby to one of his latest arrests last week.
Katie and Hawkmon peered out of the doorway of Ken's office, immediately spotting James down the hallway. Wormmon was currently hiding behind a large plant pot. "That's Mr Nakano," Katie whispered. "Daddy says he loves to tell stories, especially stories from his earlier days as a policeman."
They checked to make sure no one else was around, and knowing James was going to be distracted for a while, they tiptoed out of the office and down the hallway, heading for the main doors of the station…
.:Symbol Promenade Park, Odaiba, Tokyo:.
Just on the outskirts of the park, WarGreymon landed on the edge of the car park, and Tai immediately jumped off his back onto the ground next to him and began to scan the area for any signs of his daughter.
The car park was empty, but there were obvious signs a battle had indeed taken place not long ago. Debris lay everywhere and parts of the car park had been completely torn apart, leaving deep gaping holes in the ground.
"Dawn?!" Tai shouted, his voice echoing across the open space, as he looked around. But there was no sign of anyone, not even the gigantic Digimon they had seen on the news report earlier.
"I don't think they're here Tai…" WarGreymon spoke up, confirming his partner's suspicions.
Frustrated, Tai kicked a stone that lay by his feet as hard as he could. It hit the ground and disappeared down one of the craters. "We're too late," he muttered. "This was the only location we had on them WarGreymon and now they're gone. They could be anywhere now."
"Maybe they went to TV Station?" WarGreymon suggested. "Matt did say Margaret, MJ and Stacey were there." He said as he turned to look in the direction of the building. But as he looked, something caught his eye amongst the grass in the park that shimmered in the setting sun.
Tai continued to stare at the ruins in front of him, unaware his partner had left his side. Could Dawn have seriously taken on those two mega Digimon? Especially the one that was nearly the size of the car park itself… There was no doubt there had been a battle here… and a Digimon of that size couldn't just disappear without a trace unless it had been destroyed…
"Tai! Over here!"
"Huh?" Tai broke away from his thoughts when WarGreymon shouted his name. He looked behind to see his partner on the opposite side of the fence, standing on the grass in the park. "What is it?" he asked as he hurried over. But he froze when he saw what WarGreymon was pointing down to.
Lying in the grass was Dawn's digivice.
WarGreymon picked it up and handed it to the bearer of Courage. "Dawn wouldn't lose this so easily… would she?"
Tai shook his head. "No." Dawn never went anywhere without it. The last time Dawn had been separated from her digivice was when she and Margaret had been taken by MetalPhantomon. Tai looked around the surrounding area of the park, which was empty. "Something's happened WarGreymon…"
.:Tamachi, Tokyo:.
Makuramon reached the end of the street. He looked around unsure of which way to go. Everything looked so foreign to him. He jumped back a little as another car passed by and flinched when a bird rustled the leaves in a tree above. The natural light was fading fast as the sun had almost set. "This place is strange…" he began to talk to himself. "This can't be the Digital World… I knew I should have stayed away from that sparkly tumbleweed-"
"Makuramon?"
Makuramon shrieked in fright and spun round at the sound of his name. His eyes immediately narrowed once he saw Katie and Hawkmon standing there. "You two?! What are you doing here?" he snapped.
"We could ask you the same question," Hawkmon shot back. "What are you doing in the human world?"
Makuramon blinked a little in surprise at first at finding out his location before he huffed. "That's none of your business." He replied stubbornly.
"Did you accidently get sucked through a Digital Split?" Katie asked, although her question was met with a disgruntled growl. "We can help you return to the Digital World. It's okay to admit if you're lost."
The ultimate Digimon growled. "I don't need any help, especially from you two. I haven't forgotten the trouble you got me into the last time we met."
Katie didn't seem at all fazed by the Digimon's rude attitude. Although she couldn't quite believe this was the same Digimon they had met upon arriving at the Island Carnival. "Why are you acting this way? You were so nice to us when you gave us a tour of your carnival."
"Yeah well, thanks to you I have been on the run ever since that day. I daren't go back to the carnival in case those two Ogremon X are waiting for me."
"If you're frightened of a couple of X Digimon then you won't want to hang around here. The city is crawling with them, along with Myotismon and the Nightmare Six. So, if I were you I'd listen to Katie when she said we can help you return to the Digital World." Hawkmon explained calmly.
Makuramon stared at them for a moment. His expression somewhat frowned. "Like I already said, I don't need your help." He grunted. "You'll only lead those X Digimon to me. I'll be safer on my own." He turned around and began to walk away.
"Makuramon wait-" Katie pleaded as she began to follow him.
"Quit following me!" Makuramon snapped as he spun round and glared at the two friends; causing them to halt as well. He narrowed his eyes a little threateningly, which made Katie step back a little. Seeing the slight fear in the girl's eyes, Makuramon relaxed a little. He then backed up and turned his back on them before jumping up and over a nearby wall, disappearing out of sight.
Hawkmon sighed. "I'm sorry Katie. Not everyone is willing to accept help. Some are just too proud, or in his case stubborn, to admit it."
Katie slowly nodded understandingly. "Let's go back to the station," she said, her shoulders slouched. She had to admit defeat. There was no point in following Makuramon and begging him for them to help him if he didn't want it. It would only result in them fighting him instead.
The two friends turned around and began their short journey back to the police station.
A few blocks away Makuramon gradually stopped running, slowing down into a walk as he made his way down the quiet street. He glanced over his shoulder to see if Katie and Hawkmon were still following him. Satisfied he had lost them, he carried on down the sidewalk. His expression softened ever so slightly as he cast his mind back to their conversation moments ago, but he swiftly shook his head. "No," he muttered to himself. "They may be trying to be nice but they'll still only bring trouble with them."
As he passed by an alleyway, a pair of eyes appeared within the darkness, awoken by the animal Digimon's presence.
"I can find my own way out of this world… how hard can it be?" Makuramon continued to talk to himself unaware he was being followed until a large shadow loomed over him causing him to freeze. He stared down at the shadow, which did not look a friendly one. He gulped and slowly turned around to see a tall dark Digimon towering over him.
The Digimon, BlackRapidmon X, stared down at the smaller Digimon. "You're not one of us. You don't carry the X Antibody… you must be an ally of the DigiDestined…"
Makuramon's eyes widened in horror before he let out an ear-splitting terrified scream that echoed across two of three blocks of the city…
.:Tamachi Police Station, Tamachi, Tokyo:.
Katie stopped half way up the steps to the police station as she heard Makuramon's scream faintly in the distance. She turned around and looked in the direction it had come from. "Did you hear that Hawkmon? It sounded like Makuramon."
"He probably saw a bird of something…" Hawkmon droned as she reached the doors. She was about to reach out for the handle when the sound of an explosion could be heard coming from the same direction as Makuramon's scream. Hawkmon froze and slowly turned around. Looking up she noticed a small cloud of smoke rising into the sky behind one of the buildings opposite the station…
Despite his rude manner beforehand, they couldn't leave him there now if he was in any real danger. And by the sound of the second explosion that soon followed, he was.
.:Tokyo Bay, Odaiba, Tokyo:.
MetalGarurumon soared over the Rainbow Bridge and out across the frozen water of the bay as he made his way to the Symbol Promenade Park on the opposite side.
As they passed the battery islands, Matt cast a glance over to Myotismon's castle. A faint mist surrounded the dark building, which was surrounded by jagged rocks making it almost impossible to gain access to except for the main bridge at the front. He narrowed his eyes a little at the thought that his little brother could be trapped in there somewhere at this very moment.
"Don't worry Matt; once Izzy puts his plan into action we'll be able to rescue the others." MetalGarurumon spoke, as if he was reading his partner's mind.
"I know it's just killing me that I can't do anything right this minute to help, and I'm sure Tai's feeling the same way as well."
"Well let's hope we catch up to them before they land themselves in any sort of trouble." His partner replied.
Suddenly, out of nowhere a faintly sparkling arrow struck MetalGarurumon in the side of the neck. The shock from the attack threw him off course from in the air, and threw Matt off his back. They both hit the solid ice below with Matt being thrown clear from his partner. He landed on his right side, sliding to a stop.
A wicked cackle echoed across the bay. "Returning so soon?"
Matt cringed a little as he pushed himself up off the ice. He looked up to see Dianamon fly into view above them. "You again…" he muttered through gritted teeth.
Dianamon chuckled as she hovered above the bearer of Friendship. "I told you I would be back for the rest of you…." She then paused as she looked around. "Although I see you have returned alone this time. Your friend too scared to face me again? Or is he not as dumb as you were to fly out into open territory?"
Matt glared up at the female member of the Nightmare Six as he rose to his feet. "I hate to be rude but we haven't got time to entertain you right now." He said as MetalGarurumon joined him.
"Oh that's a shame… I was hoping for a little fun." Dianamon said as she relaxed her stance. "You see another one of you DigiDestined managed to make it across moments ago and enter Craniamon's domain…. And I can't let another one escape, especially when you have so willingly ventured across my territory for a second time." She then quickly tightened her grip on her staff and thrust it down in Matt and MetalGarurumon's direction. "You're mine!" she spat before firing a blast of energy from it directly at them…
.:Tamachi, Tokyo:.
Makuramon screamed as he ran as fast as he could down the middle of the street. He glanced over his shoulder to see BlackRapidmon X was still in hot pursuit.
The X Digimon continuously fired his Rapid Fire attack, shooting missiles from his arms.
Makuramon yelped as he jumped up to avoid one missile. He managed to dodge the next two but the third one blasted the ground inches from his feet. The force of the blast knocked him over. He quickly scrambled to his feet and turned to face his attacker. "Hey I already told you! I have nothing to do with those DigiDestined!"
"Somehow I don't believe you." BlackRapidmon X replied as he ceased his attack. "Why else would a Digimon be here in the human world if they weren't involved in some way? I have direct orders from Tactimon to destroy anyone who is an ally of the DigiDestined."
Makuramon growled, clenching his fists. "Primal Orb!" he launched a surprise attack by firing an orb like energy ball from the palm of his right hand.
BlackRapidmon X allowed the orb to close in on him before he simply swatted it away with his arm. "Nice try but you're going to have to be a lot more powerful than that…." He said as he aimed his right arm at the animal Digimon below; preparing to fire another missile…
"Kunai Wing!"
A swarm of sharp bladed feathers flew through the air and struck the X Digimon, exploding upon impact and causing him to miss fire his missile, which blasted a nearby parked car.
Both BlackRapidmon X and Makuramon turned their heads and looked up into the sky to see Peckmon soaring down with Katie on her back.
"As I suspected…" BlackRapidmon X growled before he aimed one of his arms up at Peckmon and fired a round of missiles.
Katie gasped and held on tighter as the missiles homed in but her partner successfully dodged each one.
Peckmon flew down and landed on the ground, allowing Katie to jump off. "Wait here," she instructed before she launched herself back into the air and flew straight towards BlackRapidmon X…
.:Fuji TV Station, Odaiba, Tokyo:.
Margaret was starting to feel anxious. It had been a while since Dawn and Stacey had left the office, and even longer since Matt had left to look for her mother and TK. The more time that passed the more worried she became. She walked across the room and looked out of the window.
It would be dark soon, which meant it would be harder to see what was actually happening out there. The television had been switched off a while ago, as Margaret was afraid she would see something she didn't want to. So they had been unaware of the reports that had come in from the battle that had taken place by the Promenade Park.
Biyomon walked up and stood beside the eleven year old girl. "I'm sure they're okay." She tried to reassure her.
The door to the office opened, causing Margaret to turn her head quickly; only to see Dan's mother Mika walk in carrying a tray of food from the cafeteria a few floors below.
"This is all they had that sounded appetising," Mika said light-heartedly as she placed the tray on the desk. She opened a couple of the boxes, allowing the smell of burgers and fries to fill the room. "I'm sure your parents won't mind, considering the circumstances."
"I'm not complaining." Patamon commented as he jumped off MJ's shoulder and onto the desk before picking up a burger.
MJ sighed picking up the box that contained her burger. "Shouldn't we go and see if we can find Stacey and Dawn?" she suggested, causing Margaret to look over. "They've been gone ages."
"I don't think that's a good idea. I don't want anyone else leaving this room." Mika said as she handed a box to Gatomon. "I promised your uncle I would look after you. Can you imagine the look on his face when he returns and finds you all gone?"
Just then the door to the office opened, causing everyone to turn their heads.
"Uncle Tai!" Margaret cried in delight as Tai and Agumon stepped in the room. She ran over and hugged him tightly.
Tai wrapped his free arm around his niece. "Where's Dawn? Is she here?"
Margaret pulled out of the hug to look up at her uncle. "Uhhh… she was…"
"Was? Where is she now?" Agumon questioned.
"We don't know," MJ spoke up. "Stacey and Dawn left a while ago and they haven't been back since. They'd had an argument and Dawn stormed out. Stacey followed her. We thought they had gone up onto the roof to talk things out but when I went up to check no one was there."
"That's because we saw Dawn and VictoryGreymon on the TV battling this giant Digimon by the park." Tai stated.
Biyomon sighed staring out of the window as Agumon approached her. "I should have gone after her."
"It's not your fault Biyomon." Agumon said. He then hesitated a little, unsure whether or not to tell her they had found Dawn's digivice. "Dawn's a tough kid. She can take care of herself."
"I know but when Sora finds out she's missing… I haven't even spoken to Sora since all this happened. She must be worried sick right now."
"I don't think Tai's spoken to her either."
The pink Digimon continued to stare out of the window, looking in the direction of the bay. "I feel so powerless without her here though. If anything happens I can't digivolve to help."
"Hey there are still ways you can help without being able to fight." Agumon said.
Biyomon then froze, having spotting something out on the frozen water. "Agumon, the bay…"
"Huh? The bay? Biyomon even as Garudamon it would still take you hours to melt all that ice-"
"No, no," Biyomon quickly cut in. "Look, out on the bay." She instructed.
By this time MJ's partner had appeared behind him, flapping his wings as he hovered just behind their heads. "Hey that looks like MetalGarurumon." He commented.
This caught everyone else's attention. Tai and MJ walked over to the window and stood either side of the rookie Digimon. Just as Patamon had said, there was MetalGarurumon lying on his side on the ice. They watched as he got back up onto his feet before taking a running jump and leaping up into the air.
"Hey, who's that?" MJ spoke up, pressing her finger against the glass in the direction of Dianamon who jumped out of the way of MetalGarurumon.
"I don't know but I bet it's one of the Nightmare Six…" Tai replied. He watched as MetalGarurumon took another blow from Dianamon.
"Looks like Uncle Matt is in trouble." MJ gasped.
"C'mon Agumon, let's go." Tai said turning around and heading straight for the door.
"No wait, don't you leave too Uncle Tai!" Margaret exclaimed jumping up from her seat.
Tai stopped in the doorway. "Hey don't worry. We'll be back Margaret, I promise. We're just going to help your second favourite uncle that's all." He said with a playful wink before he and Agumon left the office.
.:Tamachi, Tokyo:.
A blast erupted from BlackRapidmon X's guns, which threw Peckmon against the side of the building; cracking some of the glass in the windows.
The champion level Digimon quickly leapt up high into the air as the X Digimon lunged down towards her preparing to unleash a powerful punch. He missed and instead smashed the cracked windows with his fist.
"Kunai Wing!" Peckmon stretched her wings out and threw her sharp blade like feathers downwards towards him.
BlackRapidmon X turned around in midair and took the attack head on. But as the feathers exploded upon impact, they did very little damage to his tough metal armour.
"That attack's not very good Peckmon!" Katie shouted up to her partner. "You need to try a different one!"
"I'll try," Peckmon replied, her eyes fixed on BlackRapidmon who now had landed back on the ground below her. "Thousand Beak!" she created shadow clones of herself, which descended down and began to rapidly peck away at the X Digimon.
Makuramon scurried over to where the seven year old was standing on the sidewalk. "What are you doing here? I told you not to follow me! Now this X Digimon really thinks I am involved with you humans!" He exclaimed.
"We heard you were in trouble. As a DigiDestined we can't leave a Digimon in trouble behind." Katie replied confidently.
Makuramon blinked a little surprisingly as he stared at the young Ichijouji girl.
"Rapid Fire!" BlackRapidmon X spun round furiously releasing a stream of missiles, which destroyed each clone. Once the last clone had been blasted away, he turned and pointed his gun upwards firing a single missile aimed at Peckmon.
The missile hit Katie's partner and she was blasted out of the sky, hitting the ground below and landing in the middle of the intersection.
"Peckmon!" Katie exclaimed.
Makuramon watched on. He looked over at Peckmon who groaned as she staggered to her feet. "Why are you being so kind to me?" he asked his tone a little softer as he turned to look at Katie. "Your Digimon is going to get hurt. Do you seriously think you can beat this Digimon?"
"That's just who I am." Katie replied. "Hawkmon and I heard you were in trouble. It would have been wrong to leave you to face this Digimon alone, even when you refused our help before. I've always been kind to everyone, despite how they may treat me in return. That's why I have the same crest of Kindness as my Daddy." She replied, raising her arm and showing off her crest.
It's then that she noticed her crest was glowing inside her D-Watch. Her eyes widened in amazement. Looking down at her digivice clipped to her shorts, she saw a small golden ring was also glowing on the screen.
Peckmon straightened her stance, feeling a sudden rush of power through her body…
Katie stepped forward, a determined look on her face. "Peckmon… time to show this Digimon it's not nice to bully others…" she pressed the button on her digivice, which released her digital ring. Catching it in her hand she then swiftly slotted it into her crest…
Peckmon let out a confident battle cry as she leapt up into the air lunging towards BlackRapidmon X….
"PECKMON DIGIVOLVE TO… CROWMON!"
BlackRapidmon X flinched and shielded his eyes with his arm as the light from around Peckmon's body blinded him. Once the light had faded he lowered his arm to see a completely different Digimon charging towards him. "What?!"
Crowmon roared as she tackled the X Digimon, carrying him through the air before pinning him against the side of the building.
Katie stared up at her partner in amazement.
Crowmon's body was jet-black, which gave her a dark and almost evil look. She had three legs, giant wings with purple feathers on the ends and two Dokkosho weapons attached on top.
BlackRapidmon X struggled against Crowmon's grip. He managed to free his arms to produce one of his attacks. "Miracle Missile!" he unleashed a large purple triangle.
The triangular energy beam forced Crowmon off him and pushed her back at fast speed, slamming her into the side of a building on the opposite side of the road, and just above where Katie and Makuramon were standing.
Rubble from the building began to fall as Crowmon disappeared beneath a cloud of dust. Katie and Makuramon were forced to separate, running in opposite directions as chunks of the building hit the ground.
Makuramon jumped, falling over as a large piece of concrete landed inches from him. He scrambled backwards to his feet. He was about to turn and run, planning to make a break for it down a small dark alleyway ahead of him. But he froze, glancing over his shoulder to see BlackRapidmon X was now hovering over Katie, his gun pointing down towards her.
"DigiDestined are to accompany Myotismon at his castle. If you wish to spare your partner's life I suggest you do just that."
Katie stepped back a couple of paces, her eyes widened with fear at the gun pointing down at her.
BlackRapidmon X continued to stare the young girl down threateningly, but he was suddenly struck on the side of the head by a small orb of energy. The small attack was enough to turn his head to the left, but it didn't injure him. The X Digimon lowered his gun and turned his body to the right so he was looking straight over to where Makuramon was standing.
Makuramon didn't move from his position, his arm still outstretched from when he fired his attack from the palm of his right hand.
"This is not the time for you to be a hero," BlackRapidmon X threatened as he floated closer to Makuramon. "Like I said I have orders from Tactimon to deal with Digimon like you…" he pointed his gun at the cowering Digimon below, the barrel beginning to glow as he fired up his attack…
Makuramon's eyes widened, his brain trying to understand what had made his lash out like that and draw attention to himself.
Crowmon groaned, still wedged in the side of the building. She looked across the intersection to see BlackRapidmon X about to unleash his Rapid Fire attack upon the helpless Makuramon. "I don't think so…" she muttered. She forced herself free from the building and spread her wings. "Savage Emperor!" She charged forward, concentrating the energy from the Dokkoshos on her wings and transferring it into her foreleg.
"Rapid Fire!" BlackRapidmon X announced his attack, causing Makuramon to flinch closing his eyes, but he didn't have time to unleash it as Crowmon fired the energy from her foreleg. It broke his tough body armour and penetrated through his chest, leaving a gaping hole.
The attack completely stunned the X Digimon. His body froze as bits of data began to crumble away from the hole in his chest. The hole gradually grew bigger until he completely disappeared.
Makuramon, who was still flinching with his eyes shut, slowly opened them once he realised he was still waiting for the pain to come. Unbeknown to him, Crowmon's attack had carried after penetrating BlackRapidmon X's chest and had just missed Makuramon, hitting the sidewalk just behind him and leaving a small smouldering hole.
Crowmon dropped down to the ground as Katie approached them. "Are you okay?" the Ichijouji girl asked as she stopped beside her partner.
Makuramon slowly relaxed his body, standing up straight. He turned around to look at the small smouldering hole behind him before he looked up to where BlackRapidmon X had been. "Uhhh…. Yeah….. t-t-thanks..." he stuttered out, still a little shaken. "Are there more Digimon like this here?"
Katie nodded. "According to my parents they are everywhere."
"So our offer of help is still there if you want it." Crowmon added. "Like I said earlier, you will be a lot safer in the Digital World."
Makuramon gulped and slowly nodded.
Makuramon held on tight to Crowmon's feathers from his position on her back, just behind Katie. After accepting their help to return to the Digital World they were now currently flying across Tamachi in search of a Digital Split. The animal Digimon looked a little cautious as he looked down. "You sure it's okay to fly through the skies like this? Aren't we sitting ducks up here?"
"Don't worry my jet black body makes me almost invisible against the night sky." Crowmon assured him.
"Look Crowmon!" Katie suddenly exclaimed pointing down. "There's one!"
Crowmon glanced down to see a Digital Split was flickering in the middle of the narrow alley. "Good job Katie," she said as she descended down a little. She hovered just in line with the roofs of the two buildings.
Makuramon peered over the edge of Crowmon's body. "Hey… that's the same thing that brought me here."
"It'll take you back to the Digital World as well," Crowmon replied. "Just when you do get back, try and not travel through anymore."
"I uhhh I'm sorry I was rude earlier." Makuramon said a little sheepishly. "T-thanks again."
"You're welcome." Crowmon said. She gently nudged the bottom half of her body, causing Makuramon to lose his balance and fall off.
He screamed as he fell down towards the alley. But before he could hit the ground, he fell into the Digital Split, and within a flash he was gone.
"Crowmon…" Katie said, playfully placing her hands on her hips. "Did you do that on purpose?"
"No, of course not... I just had a little… sudden twitch is all." Her partner replied light heartedly. "Now c'mon, let's head back to the station before James realises we're not there."
.:Izzy's Lab, Minato, Tokyo:.
Izzy, Tentomon, Davis, Ken and Paildramon were situated on the roof of the building. The roof was very spacious, which was perfect for the impending appearance of Imperialdramon.
"Okay," Izzy began, balancing his laptop in his left hand. "Destroy as many of those X Digimon as you can. You'll get the perfect view of the city from the skies. Once we have dealt with Myotismon's army we can then concentrate on penetrating his castle, and rescuing the others."
Ken and Davis both nodded, holding up their D-3s. "It's been a while Paildramon, you sure you can remember how?" Davis teased with a wink as his and Ken's digivices began to glow…
"PAILDRAMON DIGIVOLVE TO… IMPERIALDRAMON!"
The light faded, revealing Imperialdramon. "Like riding a bike." The mega Digimon replied light heartedly as Davis and Ken climbed onto his back, each taking a seat on his shoulders.
"And try and not cause too much damage to the city." Tentomon added, hovering beside his partner.
"It may have been a while since I last digivolved this far but my aim is still the same." Imperialdramon protested before he spread his wings and launched himself up into the sky.
Izzy and Tentomon watched as the giant Digimon flew off in the direction of Tokyo Tower, already firing beams from his Positron Laser down at the X Digimon in the streets. "So, what do we do now Izzy?" Tentomon asked.
Izzy turned his attention to the bay, where he could just see Myotismon's castle on the battery island. "We now try and come up with a plan of how we are going to get inside that castle..."
.:Tamachi Police Station, Tamachi, Tokyo:.
"Hey Katie," James said as he walked back into his father's office. "Sorry I took so long. Mr Nakano was telling me about-" he stopped when he realised his sister or Hawkmon weren't in the room. "Katie?" he called as he walked further into the office. He placed the two cups of orange juice and the potato chips down on his father's desk before resuming his search. "Katie c'mon, this isn't a good time to be playing hide and seek…" he said as he checked behind the small sofa.
Wormmon scuttled onto Ken's desk, also looking around. "Where could they be?" he wondered. "Your parents told you two not to leave this office whilst they were gone."
James bent over to check underneath the desk before he wandered into the middle of the room. Katie was never one to disobey their parents. He looked across to the windows; which were still locked and intact… "Maybe they went to the bathroom… or decided to explore the station…" he began to speculate. "But if they've left the building then Mom and Dad are going to kill me when they find out-"
"We're back!"
James, with his back to the door, froze upon hearing his mother's voice. He slowly turned around to see Yolei and Hawkmon walk into the office. "Hi Mom..."
"Where's Katie?" Yolei asked, noticing straight away her daughter was not in the room.
"Uhh… well… she… umm…" her eldest child stuttered as he tried to think up a plausible excuse to buy himself some time, and not to send his mother into a sudden fit of panic.
But Yolei immediately caught on. "James," she said sternly. "Where is your sister?"
James gulped and sighed deeply. "She's-"
"Right there," Wormmon cut in, motioning to the door.
Yolei stepped to the side to turn around; allowing James to see Katie was indeed standing in the doorway to their father's office with her Hawkmon beside her.
"Hi Mommy." Katie greeted with an innocent smile as her mother approached her, and her brother breathed a huge sigh of relief.
"Katie, where were you?"
"Oh, we just went for a little walk around the station. It was getting a little stuffy in here. We didn't go far." The seven-year-old replied. "Where's Daddy?"
"Izzy needed his help. He and Davis are working on destroying all these X Digimon in the city." Yolei replied.
James eyed his sister suspiciously, who simply smiled innocently back at him. Something was up, and once their mother was out of earshot; he was going to find out just what.
.:Tokyo Bay, Odaiba, Tokyo:.
MetalGarurumon hit the ice, tumbling in to a heap. He cringed as he lifted his head off the frozen water and looked up to see Dianamon hovering over him, grasping her staff in both hands.
"You just don't know when to give up do you?" Dianamon chuckled.
Matt clenched his fists and watched through gritted teeth. They weren't gaining the slightest bit of an upper hand in this fight. Every time MetalGarurumon launched his attack Dianamon would shoot him down with her own.
"Now, you've had a long day I think it's time you two took a nap… Goodnight Moon!" A lunar light began to emit from the moon shaped faces on her legs. She positioned her legs so the light was directed at both MetalGarurumon and Matt.
"Uhhh… I feel a little sleepy…" Matt murmured as he began to sway a little before collapsing to the floor.
"Matt…" MetalGarurumon staggered to his feet. "Don't fall asleep. Fight it." But he too collapsed to the ground, with the sudden urge to sleep overcoming him.
Dianamon smiled to herself. "That's right. Go to sleep. Once you wake up you'll find yourselves all cosy in Myotismon's castle."
"Mega Claw!"
Out of nowhere, WarGreymon came thundering in spinning at extreme speed like a tornado. He slammed himself into the side of Dianamon, throwing her out of the air and breaking the Goodnight Moon spell.
Dianamon screamed. She hit the ice and skidded to a stop, with her staff sliding away from her reach.
"Matt!"
Matt stirred a little, slowly opening his eyes.
"Matt!" Tai shouted as he ran across the ice towards his fallen friend. He slid to a halt once he reached the bearer of Friendship and knelt down to help him up. "Matt, are you okay?"
"Uhhh yeah." Matt replied as he slowly began to wake up fully. He sat up. "Don't worry, I'm fine. I almost fell asleep."
"This is no time to take a nap!" Tai exclaimed as he helped Matt to his feet, who then shot him a look.
WarGreymon dropped down and landed on the ice next to MetalGarurumon who was now also awake.
Dianamon growled as she pushed herself up, getting to her feet. She turned around to see Tai and WarGreymon with Matt and MetalGarurumon. "So… the two that slipped through my net earlier have also returned…" she muttered under her breath. "There's no way I'm letting this opportunity pass." She glided through the air, just above the ice, scooping her staff up with her right hand. As she headed towards the two DigiDestined, she pulled a faintly sparkling arrow of ice from the quill-like protuberances on her back and using her staff as a sort of bow; she aimed it at the two men and fired the arrow.
"Tai, look out!" WarGreymon jumped in front of his partner and used the brave shield on his back to block the attack.
Dianamon came to a halt in the air, snarling a little under her breath as she watched her arrow snap in two against WarGreymon's shield. "Two mega Digimon are still no match for me. You don't realise how strong I am."
"Then I guess it's time we showed you what we are really capable of then," Tai said with a sly grin as he unclipped his digivice. "Ready Matt?"
Matt smiled, also grasping his digivice firmly in his hand. "Ready Tai."
Their digivices began to shine brightly, as did WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon…
"WARGREYMON… METALGARURUMON… DNA DIGIVOLVE TO… OMNIMON!"
Dianamon watched as the two mega Digimon merged as one, and the light soon faded to reveal Omnimon standing before her in front of Tai and Matt. She chuckled. "Clever trick," she said. "But that still won't help you. You may think I look weak for a member of the Nightmare Six. But do not be fooled by my appearance. Like the moon, I too have a light and dark side…" she narrowed her eyes, and her body began to turn darker. All of the white on her body disappeared, changing into a dark shade of grey.
Omnimon prepared his Grey Sword. "Let's see who is the weakest then, shall we?" he scorned. He leapt up, lunging towards Dianamon…
.:Rainbow Bridge, Odaiba, Tokyo:.
Myotismon snarled under his breath as he watched the sky light up in the distance every time Imperialdramon fired his Positron Laser. He was standing on the highest point of Rainbow Bridge. With the sun now set, he was able to venture outside.
Another Positron Laser shot down towards the ground, like a bolt of lightning.
"They are destroying my army…" Myotismon muttered as Tactimon and ChaosGallentmon appeared behind him on either side. He narrowed his eyes as Imperialdramon's silhouette appeared in front of the moon for a brief moment. "That Digimon was the cause of my demise last time… destroy him."
"Yes, my lord." Both Tactimon and ChaosGallentmon replied in unison before they disappeared into the darkness…
To be continued…
