"Just who was the Monarch of Victory you ask?"

"Haha~"

"An excellent question I'm all too happy to answer~"

"Fufu~ but where to begin?"

"Huh? The beginning? hmm, alright I don't see why not."

Rustle* Shift*

"Much more comfortable."

"Well then, let's begin shall we~"

"For I will tell you the tale of a hero known throughout the ages."

"Elysia."

"That was the first thing I remember upon my birth, my creation."

"I was given that name, by he who made the first Monarch, he who stands as the most holy, the heavenly father."

"YHWH."

"He called upon me as his most 'favored' daughter. So, I was titled as the daughter of heaven by the Angelic choirs.

"Yet, before I could ask of him, he asked of me to do one thing."

"Watch and Learn."

"That was all…"

"It was at that point as I looked upon the earth that he pointed to a single being, a single man."

"His most 'favored' son, he called him."

"And as my eyes turned to see, I understood why."

"For his radiance was no less beautiful and grand than the brightest of days."

"Haha~"

"Sorry, I still get a little emotional when I think about him."

"Huh? No need to feel sorry, this is simply me reliving fond memories of happier times."

"Where was I?"

"Right"

"I watched him anytime I could, every opportunity I could find. For it was through him, that I could find meaning in my own."

"I watched when he raised the first city, Bastion, the grand capitol you all call home from the ashes of the old world. How he made it into a symbol of hope for times to come."

"I watched as beasts and monsters were slain one by one, how the devils that ruled over the earth were driven back step by step. How the corruption and taint of the world faded away at his wake."

"Even the warlords and tyrants that ruled over the remaining vestiges of man, felled at his feet, be it willingly or not. All would eventually pledge their loyalty to the Monarch. For he would become their leader."

"Their king."

"For none could stop the inevitability of change."

"Of his promise to rebuild mankind, to bring back the future that was lost."

"This…"

"I watched and learned of him."

"For he was my example…"

"My idol."

"Even as I watched him recruit the Monarchs, one by one as he gathered abled men and woman, as his popularity grew, as he rebuilt mankind into a proud race, I never once found myself being able to fully understand why he was doing all of that."

"That was until I finally met him on that fateful day. One I will always remember, the day that I can say I truly fell in love with him. Like a meeting of two lost souls finally finding their other half."

"For I was 'of' him."

"And I grew to understand his love for humans, along with his goal to strive for a better day."

"A hopeful tomorrow."

"That was the day I became the Monarch of Origin. His last companion, as none were recruited afterwards."

"Hmm~"

"Still, were not here for me~ so let's carry on!"

"Though none of us said it, we all agreed that he was our leader, even after we ascended into our lofty stations as Monarchs, and were therefore considered equals. None of us truly felt that way, for it was him that found us, that gave us purpose, to follow in his wake, to eventually stand shoulder to shoulder with him.

"He was our friend, our leader."

"Though the Monarch of Sentience is the greatest tactician."

"The Monarch of Reason our greatest mind."

"The Monarch of Finality the most Loyal."

"And I the most trusted."

"The Monarch of Victory was our guiding star."

"Confident, wise, strong, he was the light that paved the way, our strength in the darkest hour, for even when we doubted. He was there to illuminate the way forward. No matter what stood in our way."

Sigh*

"He…was our inspiration."

"Our Hope."

"Though make no illusions, the Monarchs will always stand together as one, and will always strive to follow the example he set."

"But, on that day, the last final battle of the great war, when the Monarch of Victory faced down the 'Adversary' in lone combat."

"When he…succeeded."

"…"

"If only I could have been there. If only we knew what truly happened that day. Though the adversary was vanquished, and the day was won. It all felt hollow without him around."

Sigh*

"You don't have to listen to this part if you don't want to, just some words for me to say to my fellow companion, my dearest love."

"The golden throne lies empty."

"The promise of victory rings hollow."

"The hope that sustained us wanes in times to come."

"Yet, we invoke you, you who was our leader, our guiding light, our sword and shield."

"Return to us."

"Return home."

"Wherever you are, I know that you are not truly gone."

"For you promised us, promised me."

"So, where are you?"

"Where…"

How long has it been?

The blinding light waned, the familiar hue of gold that she was all too familiar with. For none could mimic that radiance, that feeling of unwavering might.

How long did they search for?

Gentle hands held the orb before her, cradling its golden radiance close to her bosom.

How long…

The familiar thrum of power hummed, followed by that same feeling of enveloping warmth, one she hadn't felt in so long, yet desired to all the same. For it was the feeling she felt whenever she was with him, the feeling of being protected, that no matter what happened, all would be alright.

For he was here.

"I found you…"

Grasping the orb in her hands, Elysia could not help but let tears of joy slowly fall from her eyes. This here, was all she ever wanted. Years, upon years of waiting, of searching for answers, all for it to suddenly fall unexpectedly on her lap. Wiping a lone tear from her eye, Elysia was overjoyed, for she had finally managed to accomplish what the Monarchs had been doing ever since the end of the Great war.

To locate the Monarch of Victory.

Death was something that wasn't a deep concern for the Monarchs for they were immortal. Even if their shells, their bodies were to be destroyed. So long as the soul remained, so long as a remnant of their existence continued.

They would return.

Yet…

"I have so many questions, I wish I could ask of you. So many things I want to say to you." Elysia said as she gazed at the orb in her hands.

"Where have you been? What happened at the end of the battle? Why did you not return to us…" Elysia mumbled.

"We feared that you were truly gone, dead along with the Adversary." Though death was not something that they feared, it was the utter destruction of their existence that would truly put them down. Only the likes of powerful gods, or higher beings could truly "Kill" them.

A destruction so utter that their name would cease to be.

Something the Adversary was certainly capable of…

"I have to know, I have to see you with my own eyes, so forgive this intrusion, just this once…" Elysia said as she began to peer into the orb, her eyes shining in their pink luster as she attempted to see what laid within, what secrets it held.

"It's Not Yet Time." The orb that Elysia held in her hands suddenly flew from her grasp, surprising her in the process as she whipped around to see who had sneaked past her senses.

"Father…" Elysia said, her voice bewildered at seeing his presence here.

"How did you-" before she could voice her questions. A sudden thought struck her.

"You? You knew all along didn't you." Elysia said almost breathlessly as she saw the being before her grasp the orb in hand, inspecting it for a moment before hiding it away within the endless winds and clouds that made up this "Hurricane" of change.

Though they were not here physically, their presences were no less different than if they were. As such for the heavenly father to suddenly appear within this realm weaved in fate and destiny, some heads were certainly facing in their direction. Though none dared approach the ominous storm.

"Father. Hmm, it's been a long time since I last heard those words from you. Elysia, my daughter." Turning to face her, his eyes watched her in curiosity as various emotions flashed in her eyes. Happiness, joy, elation, concern, surprise, disappointment…

"Why." the simple question was thrown, though he did not deem to answer.

Seeing this, Elysia was not yet ready to let it go, not until she got what she was here for. "You knew all along didn't you, though you won't say it, I can feel it, you knew where Ichigo has been this whole time haven't you. Of what happened that day at the last battle. You know this don't you." She stated, her eyes locking with him.

"…"

"Why do you remain silent, after all this time. After our exile, even then you always stood at the sidelines, so why act now. What are you trying to do?" Though her words appeared accusatory, Elysia was more curious then angered. After all, she could never bear any true hatred or resentment for anyone, it was against her nature.

But still, her disappointment would certainly be felt.

"…There are too many eyes and ears here, but know this, change will come soon, and 'his' resurgence is all but inevitable, all that will come, will occur, as all has been foretold." God declared as he moved to take his leave, having said his piece.

"All has been foretold?" thinking this, just what could he be referring to…

"Wait!" calling out to the dissipating image of God, Elysia asked her last question.

"How is he? Why hasn't he returned to us." Elysia asked as she faced him, though her eyes spelled her true desire to know this answer.

After so long, she had to know.

Facing those eyes that held nothing but love for the one she had been searching for all this time. Even he would be moved slightly, still, it was not yet time to reveal too much information, at least not until the boy had fully regained his strength.

Still, how could he just say no to such an earnest desire.

"The Monarch of victory is fine, he will come around eventually, I ask that you be patient though I fear my words will fall on deaf ears." God said as he slowly dissipated and eventually vanished from this place.

Seeing that was all she was going to get, Elysia would simply have to content herself with those words, despite the disappointment she felt. Still, all was not bad, she had come to seek answers, and this confirmed her thoughts.

Ichigo is alive.

And he had somehow come into possession of the Longinus, boosted gear, the one Ddraig had been sealed within. So, with this information, Elysia could deduce just where her dearest was.

"Earth, just great, the one place I can't reach you at the moment." Letting out a sigh of exasperation, her sullen expression soon shifted to one of contentment. A bright smile slowly appearing over her features. "Oh well, I guess I can satisfy myself with knowing you're alright, I will eagerly await your return, Ichigo, my love." Fading away from this place, one last thought crossed her mind as she thought over all the events that transpired thus far.

"Should I tell the others about this?"

After a long discussion with the trio, Ichigo didn't readily accept their recruitment, instead he had decided to give them an answer within the coming days, mainly to buy himself some time to contemplate the pros and cons as he had ended up revealing himself sooner than he had hoped. Laying on his bed as he thought over the meeting, it was decided that Asia would stay with them, seeing as she had been excommunicated from the church, that and her relocation had been met with a life and death situation with no one from the church surviving the strays attack. It was for the best that Asia take the offer to join up with the fire moth organization seeing as they meant well. It also helped that they didn't have a bad relationship with the church or the faith for that matter. So, it wasn't an issue if she wanted to pray to the Heavenly father, seeing as it was one of the few gods who wasn't in the organizations shit list.

Still, something did bother him…

"What do you think of all this." Ichigo asked his companions.

"Hmm, it is a bit soon, but, nothing we could have done to change the outcome. Though I expected this eventuality, it still caught me off guard that we were noticed this early in the game. I had hoped that you would have more time to grow." The Monarch confessed.

"Be worried not, it is still salvageable, so long as you prolong your involvement with the organization itself, you may still live the life you had up until now. A condition if you will." Ddraig gave his piece.

"Hmm, roughly how much have I absorbed from my memories?" Ichigo asked, contemplating their words.

"Based on your progress, it's at about the halfway mark, roughly, 46%" The Monarch explained.

"Huh, that's more than I expected, what gives?" Ichigo seemed surprised by the answer.

"I'm shocked too, but, this is simply me having underestimated your fortitude and willingness to accept your situation. It would appear that the rate of you reliving your memories and the experiences that follow are much faster than expected. At the rate we're going, you may be able to subsume the role of Monarch within the year." The Monarch praised.

"So, in the end its our synchronicity." Ichigo concluded.

"It would appear that is the case, your compatibly and adaptability to take on all this is…astonishing. I expected the process to take years yet…you leave me in awe." The Monarch said after a moment.

"I don't see why it's surprising, I'm you aren't I, if I can't do this much, it would be me who is found wanting." Ichigo said.

"Heh, so it would seem, I hope that your progress will continue this way. It would help in speeding up certain plans ahead of schedule." The Monarch stated.

"Hm, care to explain does plans." Ichigo asked.

"Within time, you will learn." Was the Monarchs noncommittal answer.

"Figures." With that a brief silence occurred.

"Back to the problem at hand, what exactly should I do, after all, if we're looking at it from a technical point of view, I'm the boss of the organization, one of its leaders." Ichigo began. "I will eventually join them once I take the role of Monarch, but, if I join them now, I have no clue what expectations would be placed upon me. Much less if they will have me relocated to one of their academies that are used as recruitment/training centers." Ichigo said, troubled by his choices.

"Then as Ddraig said, add a condition, after all, we can ill afford to take chances right now. Especially if the Monarchs become aware of your existence. It would only spell trouble for you and them if they decide to forgo all subtlety and come forward to retrieve you." The Monarch warned.

"Would they really give up all their efforts thus far and come forward?" Ichigo questioned.

"Ichigo, do not by any circumstance doubt their loyalty, they are our most cherished friends, you of all people should know this, you have seen for yourself what it was like." The Monarch chastised.

"Sorry, you're right. But even so, the fact that the possibility of a full-blown war occurring if they step foot outside the Elysian realm just to bring me back is…concerning." Ichigo said as his scowl deepened.

"After all, they were exiled from their very home, they haven't stepped foot outside the Elysian realm since its foundation. They won't just quietly accept the current circumstance if they feel the need to bring me back. Least of all if its Earth, they might even assemble the forces they have more than likely built up to come here, damn the consequences and the many gods that wish for nothing but a full-blown conflict with the Monarchs." Ichigo speculated.

"Chances are we would be looking at another great war in our hands." Ichigo realized as his eyes widened in realization.

"An interesting possibility, but, give them some credit Ichigo, they know the stakes just as much you do, if not more, they know what they stand to lose or gain. Trust in their judgement." The Monarch advised.

"…" no rebuttal from him, after all, it made sense. At least he hoped he was just jumping to conclusions. Last thing he needed was to be the orchestrator of a tragedy.

"Still, you speak truth, young one. Not all Monarchs are of the same mind, especially so for the Monarch of Severance and Thunder." Ddraig informed him, though the slight amusement in his voice gave way to his inner thoughts on the matter.

"Hmm…" A look of concern appeared in Ichigo's face as he thought over Ddraig's words. For there was truth in them. Not all Monarchs got along, least in the beginning as he had memories of those conflicting times. But even so, with time, Ichigo had seen them grow closer. Still, differing thoughts and opinions existed, along with some of the more eccentric personalities within the monarchs could lead to a lot of conflicts and headbutting.

"Haah…those two damn battle maniacs." The Monarch felt like he was going to have a headache just thinking about it.

"Oh, yeah, I forgot about those two, now I really am concerned. What are the chances that if they find out about me being alive their first instinct will be to launch a full-scale assault towards earth just to bring me back to fight me." Ichigo sweat dropped as he recalled some of the more…interesting memories of his. Namely the various interactions he has had with the Monarch of severance and Monarch of thunder.

Kenpachi Zaraki, and Khun Eduan. Just the thought of those two finding him sent a shiver down Ichigo's spine.

"You're overreacting, I'm sure they mean well. Besides, I like to think they were the more amusing members within the Monarchs. I can still feel the pain that was inflicted on me when I challenged them to a battle. It was truly one of my most foolish yet exhilarating battles I've experienced within my lifetime." Ddraig roared out ecstatically.

"You would think so wouldn't you." The Monarch scoffed and grumbled about being surrounded by battle maniacs.

It was at that moment when an argument was about to spill forward between his two companions that a sudden jolt caught their attention. In fact, Ichigo felt like something immensely powerful was gazing at him. A pressure so strong that it sent him into a cold sweat.

"What!? YOU! YOU DARE!" Ddraig roared out in deep anger as something only he could detect assailed him.

"STOP! YOU KNOW NOT WHAT YOU DO! CEASE YOUR ACTIONS THIS INSTANT!" Ddraig roared a little more frantically as whatever he was trying to hold back kept pushing against him.

"Ddraig! What's going on!" Ichigo said a little more alarmed.

"No way…this feeling! Could it be, but HOW?!" Even the Monarch seemed surprised based on his sudden rise in worry.

"Guys! What's going on?! You're worrying me here!" Ichigo said as he tried to get some answers from his companions. It wasn't a moment later when Ddraig's struggles suddenly waned as one last roar could be heard before his voice fizzled out. That along with the Monarch who suddenly went quiet though not before shouting at him to brace himself as a sudden feeling of being stripped naked assailed him for the briefest of moments. Though even that lasted an instant before a feeling of being clothed once more and the sudden pressure suddenly ceased as all things returned to normal. Even Ddraig's worried voice had returned.

"…"

None said a word as they all reeled back from the sudden intrusion they had experienced. Though it wasn't long before Ddraig found his voice once more.

Huff*

"Forgive this one, young one. It would seem someone was a bit too eager to catch a glimpse of their mate." Ddraig said slightly annoyed at having been what could only be explained as shoved to the side by an adoring fan, or in this case a loving wife.

"Huh?" not understanding what Ddraig meant, it was the Monarch who soon shed light on the situation.

"I don't know how, or why for that matter, but it would appear the Monarch of origin, Elysia has found out about our whereabouts. More precisely, that we are currently alive and well." An awkward chuckle soon came out from the Monarch's voice as Ichigo felt his face blanche in realization.

"Oh shit…"

After a brief moment of panic and an argument later, Ichigo calmed down as he realized a thing or two from Ddraig. More specifically, a brief message sent to him by the sacred gear system in place by God, one in which he could communicate with the wielders of his relics.

"So, she knows we're alive, and that I'm currently in possession of the Boosted gear." Ichigo said.

Nodding in agreement. The Monarch and Ddraig let him sort his thoughts.

"And somehow, she managed to find all this out to what amounts to a gut instinct on her part?" Ichigo continued.

Nod*

"The only reason she wasn't able to get any more than that is because God himself intervened before she could, and mind you it's a shocker that he is aware of me as well after all this time." Ichigo said incredulously.

"Honestly you shouldn't be surprised by that. Amongst those with omniscience, the Heavenly father stands as the greatest 'seer.' Even our own sight isn't as far reaching as his." The Monarch explained.

"Still, to think we would be discovered like this, what could have triggered it? I know that she and I share a special connection and all due to our origin, but, to think that this would happen." Ichigo said as he thought over the situation.

"Worry not Ichigo, you know as well as I do that Elysia only has the best of intentions at heart, she knows the value of the information she acquired as well as what it could mean for both us and them." The Monarch reasoned.

"…" thinking over it, the Monarch wasn't wrong.

"Then let's hope she keeps the information tight lipped. I can only hope that after so long apart, she can continue to wait just a little more. For as much as I would love to see her again, its's still not yet time." Ichigo concluded, much to his disappointment as he would have loved to see his beloved once more. Though he hadn't seen her with his own two eyes yet, the memories they had shared together…none could love as Elysia did.

She was his other half if such a thing existed in the world.

Having sorted his thoughts, Ichigo decided to stop worrying about it, lest he get a headache from overthinking the situation.

Tomorrow would be a new day, one in which he will have to give the trio an answer to his dilemma, yet, now that he had time to think it over. It wasn't as bad as he first thought.

"Heh~ I wonder what their reaction would be if I ever told them that I'm one their revered Monarchs." It was an amusing thought as he settled himself to sleep once more.

It wasn't long till morning arrived and with it the start of a new day. Like always, spending time in his mindscape was as ever; draining. Still, the knowledge and experience that came with it was worth it. Now if only the headaches were quicker to subside.

Letting his eyes flutter open, Ichigo expected to be met with the white ceiling of his room. Though much to his surprise, Aquamarine eyes, and crimson red hair that fell around him like a veil were what met his gaze. Freezing in place as his mind caught up with him, it was only till Rias who was currently straddling him spoke up that he finally snapped out of it.

"Good Morning, Ichigo~" Rias said jovially as she stared down at him. Her face mere inches away from his, all the while her hand gently caressed his cheek.

"R-Rias? What are you doing, no wait! How'd you even get in here?" Ichigo asked, slightly dumbfounded by his current situation.

"Hmph. Why of course your mother let me in silly, did you think I just teleported myself in or something," Rias grumbled as she looked displeased by something.

"Oh." Ichigo said awkwardly.

"More, importantly, aren't you forgetting something." Rias stated.

"What?" Ichigo asked. Confused by what she meant.

Sigh*

Instead of saying it, Rias merely let her actions do the talking as she leaned in and proceeded to press her lips against Ichigo's, much to his surprise. Though he was quick to take the hint as he soon enough began to take the initiative, both melting into the kiss in a passionate display of affection.

In fact, Ichigo felt it ever more enjoyable with Rias weight on him, he could just feel her, from her warmth, to her "softer" parts. Breaking away from the kiss for a moment, Ichigo sat up, letting Rias straddle his lap as he shifted his attention away from her lips to her slender neck.

"Aah..Uhn…Ichi…go~" Rias moaned in pleasure as he planted light kisses on her neck, his lips feathering over her, though he did get a bit bold as he lightly sucked on her neck before gently biting. This inadvertently caused Rias to moan lightly, her grip on him increasing as he continued his ministrations.

After sometime.

Seeing Rias half lidded eyes as she stared up at him in want. Her body pinned under his as he had switched positions. Still, it was a school morning, and it wouldn't do well on them to both miss the day just because they were caught up in their own little world. Though another thing did catch his attention as he stared at his Princess.

"Maybe I should have held back…" Ichigo thought as he saw the hickeys forming on Rias neck.

"Think you can hide them." Ichigo asked as he pointed towards his neck.

Catching on to what he was saying, Rias smirked as she lightly pushed him off from her, their little session coming to a stop. "Why, afraid everyone will find out about our little secret if they see this." Rias asked as she pointed to her hickeys.

"Heh~ I don't mind if you want to show them off, I'm more than willing to let everyone know just who exactly you belong to." Ichigo whispered that last part in Rias ear, causing a crimson blush to shoot up her face. If one were to look at her, they might even think steam was coming out of her head.

"Ahem, my own body will easily sort this out within a minute or two, a devils regeneration speed is nothing to scoff at." Rias simply said, clearly feeling a bit flustered after his proclamation.

"Is that so? well in that case, I should probably start getting ready, lest we both be late." Ichigo said as he got up to get changed.

"I'll be downstairs waiting for you then." With that Rias left the room as Ichigo went about getting ready for the day.

"Must be nice huh~" The Monarch said from within Ichigo's mind.

Cough*

"I thought you would mind your own business." Ichigo said as he felt a little flustered.

"Why are you being so shy? You already know what you've done, what we've done." The Monarch said, slightly amused by Ichigo's reaction.

It was at that point that sudden memories came to mind as a slight tint of red entered his cheeks. But, still he wasn't going to let the monarch have his fun like this.

"Oh no, don't pin that on me, you womanizer." Ichigo started as he changed into his uniform.

"W-Womanizer?" The Monarch seemed confused by that.

"What's with that tone. Need I remind you. Do the names Elysia, Eden, Aponia, Himeko, Fu H-" Ichigo listed though he was eventually cut off.

"OK, you've made your point." The Monarch said somewhat flustered.

"Ha~ are you sure we shouldn't change your title from the monarch of victory to the monarch of lust." Ichigo joked.

"Fun and games, but who's sleeping with the devil." The Monarch shot back.

"…Low blow." Ichigo said.

"Regardless, our love life isn't as bad, at least compared to the likes of Eduan, that guy, seriously." The Monarch sighed internally.

"…" no argument from him.

Standing in front of the body mirror, Ichigo checked his uniform for any inconsistency. Though a sudden thought did cross his mind that left him feeling a bit bitter.

"Is what I'm doing right?" Ichigo questioned. His tone slightly somber.

"From a certain point of view, its not wrong." The Monarch conveyed.

"But, is it though, that I'm lying to her, that she is not the only one that I hold dear in my heart. What would Rias think of me if I ever told her?" Ichigo said, adjusting his tie. His eyes somewhat downcast.

"…It is no fault of your own, she will understand. After all, you were willing to accept her, despite our known history with their kind. Even if she herself is not aware of it. It doesn't change how you feel about her." The Monarch said, understanding his dilemma.

"I…liked her before I even knew about Elysia, and all the other woman I have met in my previous life. Now as I become more aware of my past history. I can't help but feel like I'm betraying her in a way." Ichigo said after a moment of hesitation.

"Can I go on like this? Should I…tell her who I really am?" Ichigo asked once more.

"…I won't tell you what you should or shouldn't do, only that you follow what you think is right, whether you seek my opinion on something, I will answer. But, you are free to choose as you will, knowing you, I know that you will do what must be done. The weight of that responsibility you carry, we know it all too well. So…do as you must. If you believe that telling her your identity, your history, is the right thing to do. Only you can decide that." The Monarch said after a moment of silence.

"…Do what I think is right?" staring at himself in the mirror once more. Ichigo couldn't help but imagine an older version of himself. His past and future staring back at him as he came to a decision.

Sigh*

"I know what I have to do…"

If there was one thing Ichigo could truly appreciate about this simple human act he was playing. It was the freedom it gave him. Evermore as the memories of days gone by continued to funnel into his head. Even now as he thought of it, the responsibility, the burden he carried, and the future that awaited him. It all seemed so much at times that it weighs heavy on his mind. Still, he took relief in the fact that it was not his alone to bear. For his cherished comrades awaited him.

Still…

Looking around, students milled around the school grounds, chatting around friends, going to and fro as they prepared for the classes ahead. They smiled, they laughed, joked, and played. They need not worry of the future just yet, but, for now, they could simply live in the moment. After all, they had time, they were still growing, so they would live their best life while they still can.

"How I envy them…"

A bitter smile formed on Ichigo's face as he took in this scene. He understood his place, his role in the times to come. He knew what would await him. Even far off into the future, Ichigo could glimpse at what could possibly await him.

He would outlive them all.

All the people here.

His family.

His friends.

All of them…

But, despite that.

A gentle hand held firmly onto his arm, her beauty comparable to the woman in his past, for each of them were as splendorous as the sun, yet unique in their own charm. But, those lustrous eyes that pulled him in, that beautiful and enchanting smile that beguiled her mischief, her crimson hair reminiscent of a most beautiful rose. He wondered to himself…

"Regardless of the future, of my path ahead, I wish to know…"

Her gentle hand guided him forward past the gates and into school grounds.

"…Would you remain at my side onto eternity."

His mind so preoccupied with thoughts of the future, distracted him from Rias calling out his name.

"Ichigo!"

Startled, Ichigo looked down at Rias who was pressed to his side, her face shadowed by her hair.

"Sorry, is something the matter?" Ichigo questioned as he pulled himself away from distracting thoughts."

"…y..r..and" Rias whispered something in a low voice, making it difficult to determine what she said.

"I'm sorry, what? Could you repeat yourself." Ichigo asked, confused by her words.

Looking up at him, Ichigo could see Rias forming a flustered look on her face as she stared at him. "I said, your hand." Rias said as she shifted at his side.

"My hand…" it was at that point that Ichigo realized their current position.

Right…

His hand.

So, engrossed in his thoughts, Ichigo failed to realize that he had inadvertently placed his right arm around Rias' waist, his hand gently settled on her hip, bringing her much closer to him in the process.

All in the view of the Kuoh academy students.

"…"

Sigh*

For the Umpteenth time, Ichigo let out an exasperated sigh.

"Would you cut that out already, it's not that bad, in fact, this makes things even more simple now." Rias said, her tone finding his current predicament to be amusing, much to his annoyance.

"Just asking but, you didn't cast a spell on all these students for them to be so infatuated with you right?" Ichigo asked tiredly.

"What? Of course not. As if I would need to use something like [Charm] to get what I want when I look this good already. After all, even you couldn't resist my natural charm in the end~" Rias mused, a suggestive smile on her face that made Ichigo stare at her for a couple moments before looking away, not wanting to get caught up in her game.

"You'll be my ruin." Facing away from Rias, Ichigo looked at all of his gossiping classmates, the latest news in town.

"Well, I 'am the princess of ruin after all." Rias said.

And boy she was, for everyone in this school had probably already heard it by now.

The rumors that have been circulated were proven right all along, and with it, the cry of thousands…

That would be silenced by him on this day.

It wasn't long till classes ended, and with it a new set of problems, namely. Rias.

"Is something wrong?" Ichigo noticed her looking rather annoyed at her phone, more than likely, some bad news.

"No, everything's fine, or rather, I'll make it so." Rias said as she sent a quick message back to whoever annoyed her.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Ichigo proposed.

"Hmm, No. It's fine, I got it all under control." Rias politely declined.

"Is that so? In that case, I'll believe you." Ichigo said, no longer concerned. Though his next actions did catch Rias off-guard as Ichigo suddenly loomed over her, making her take a step back till her back touched the wall. His body cornering her as he suddenly slammed his hand against the wall in a muted Don* sound.

"Ichigo?" Rias questioned, his eyes staring deep into hers, while his face was mere inches away.

Was he…was he going to kiss her here. In the hallway!

"Rias." Ichigo began. "if you ever need my help, don't forget, I'll always be there for you." Ichigo continued. "You're my girl after all." With that Ichigo removed his hand, letting Rias flustered expression reveal itself to those who had lingered in the hallway, leaving them gobsmacked, though some girls couldn't help but cry out in excitement at seeing their 'ship' sailing. While some of the boys passed out on the spot, their hopes and dreams crushed.

Seeing that all eyes were on them, Rias tried to calm her racing heart down. She had an image to maintain after all. Still, thinking over his words, Rias couldn't help but put up a charming smile as she linked her arms with Ichigo, intending on having him accompany her to the ORC room.

"That's right. I'm yours, and yours alone." Rias wistfully thought inside her mind.

If only days like this could continue ahead for the both of them.

Unbeknownst to them, a certain maid had watched the whole event happen from the security footage. Her lips formed a thin line and a frosty look crossed her face.

Leaving schools grounds after a long day, Ichigo bid goodbyes to Rias and the rest; who had congratulated them on their relationship since it wasn't a secret after what happened at the front gate. That and Akeno's endless teasing led to Rias wanting to get the damn thing over with, though the ORC club was somewhat surprised that he was aware that they were all devils and that it was Rias who revealed her true self to him. Despite that, they came to know that he still accepted her, for this reason, they all the more respected him.

It also had the unintended effect of him being revealed to be a sacred gear wielder. Thus, seeing that the subject changed to him, he decided to reveal the boosted gear, much to everyone's surprise. After a few more pleasant conversations, Ichigo left, seeing as it was time to head home. Rias for her part still had her duties as the ORC president, along with managing the towns security, so as always, she followed her duties. Though she did promise to make time for them to spend together, much to Akeno's delight and teasing at the admission, as well as Rias flustered and angered reaction at Akeno's words.

All in a day's fun.

Still, he had a meeting to get to, and someone to meet.

Walking along the streets of Kuoh, Ichigo headed towards a certain building; a high-rise apartment complex, specifically, one of the more luxuries one's in town. Sure, while Kuoh maybe nothing to look at from just a glance, it did have its few attractions, along with high-cost living spaces.

"What floor did she say?" checking his phone, Ichigo stared at the small text with the room number and floor. The text being sent to him by Kiana, who gave him her phone number, saying that it would be easier to contact him this way than to randomly meet up as they have so often now.

"Floor 6, room 10." Having a destination, Ichigo set forth inside the building. hopefully everything went well.

Knock* Knock*

Arriving at the door, Ichigo knocked a few times to let the occupants know of his arrival. It wasn't long before the door was unlocked and at the door appeared Asia, her smile beaming as she looked at him with kind eyes.

"Ichigo, you're here!" Asia exclaimed, excited to see her newest friend that had saved her on that dangerous encounter yesterday.

"Asia, how have you been." Ichigo smiled at seeing that friendly face of hers. Sure, they might have just met, but, Ichigo had gotten used to reading people by just a brief meeting, and based on what he could feel from Asia, she was the few truly kind souls in this world.

Ever pure…

"Oh! Sorry, quick come inside, the rest of the girls are waiting for you in the living room." Asia said as she quickly let him inside, guiding him towards the living room where he could see Kiana, Bronya, and Mei sitting around, conversing with one another.

"Sorry to interrupt, but, Ichigo has arrived." Asia said respectfully towards the girls in the room.

"Asia, we've talked about this, you don't have to act so formal around us, we're on the same side now after all, consider us your comrades from now on." Kiana said as she looked back at her, a smile on her face as she turned to face Ichigo.

"Ichigo glad to have you here." Kiana welcomed him in.

"Good to see you all in good spirits." Ichigo nodded. Taking in his surroundings, Ichigo could appreciate the fine décor of the place. "Nice place you have here." He commented as he took a seat on the couch, sitting next to Bronya who had patted the seat next to her to let him sit so they could get the meeting underway.

"Yeah, Bronya has quite the place, a nice view of the town too." Kiana nodded in agreement.

"Yes." Mei cut in as she turned to face Ichigo. "I think now would be a good time to cut straight to the point, seeing as we are all here now." Mei said, clearly wanting to get things underway.

"Fine by me." Ichigo agreed.

"Good, though before we begin, I would like to inform you that, Asia, has accepted to join our cause, after much deliberation, it is decided that she would be attending one of our academies in Japan, where she will train and learn about the true history of mankind, as well as learn to how best put to use her abilities." Mei explained.

"Yeah, miss Mei was quite thorough in explaining what I would be doing and what kind of future I could be expecting, something about joining the 4th division, as my abilities are better suited for healing." Asia commented.

"I see." Ichigo said, though as he thought of the 4th division, a certain image of the Monarch of Life couldn't help but cross his mind.

"I wonder how she's doing." He thought, a nostalgic smile appearing on his face.

"When will you be departing?" Ichigo asked Asia. Though they had only known each other for less than a day, Ichigo had slightly grown fond of her. She reminded him of his own sister Yuzu somewhat, both so kind and gentle.

"Within a weeks' time, seeing as the process takes a while for recent admittance, especially so with classes already underway. Still, we hope that she will at least have someone to accompany her should they agree to join as well." Mei explained, her eyes looking into his own.

"That would be great! wouldn't it Ichigo. We would be attending classes together, have lunch together, maybe even train together." Asia exclaimed, clearly excited at the prospect.

"…" hearing her say that, Ichigo couldn't help but form a sad smile on his face. clearly knowing he would have to disappoint the young girl.

"Ichigo…" Asia questioned, seeing that he hadn't responded yet.

"Right. Before we get to that, I'd like to add in a condition, if you will." Ichigo began, startling the girls.

"A condition?" Bronya asked next to him.

"What do you mean?" Mei asked, curious as to what he meant.

"I'd like it if I could postpone my recruitment into the fire moth organization." Ichigo declared.

"Postpone?" they repeated, confused as to why he would ask them to do such a thing.

"I understand it might be an odd request but, hear me out." Ichigo quickly said, not wanting to give them the idea that he didn't want to join them. "As you know, I have family here, friends that I have made, and my last year to get through before I graduate. To suddenly join you guys and leave them behind so suddenly just doesn't sit well with me." Ichigo explained.

"Which is why I would like it if you could give me a year, that should be enough time to not only graduate from Kuoh academy, but also give my family a proper excuse when I leave this town in order to join you guys." Ichigo said as he gazed at the rest of the occupants who were thinking over his words.

"…" all were silent for a moment until Mei turned to look back at him.

"I see, I understand where you're coming from, it is indeed a bit much of us to expect you to suddenly join us so quickly." Mei began. "Very well, we'll give you a year's time to give us your answer, if you still so wish to join us at that time that is." Mei accepted his proposal, seeing it as reasonable.

"Certainly, though it is a shame that you can't join us at the moment, you have so much potential to be great, still, I guess a year isn't so long in the grand scheme of things." Bronya stated, respecting his choice.

"But, I was so looking forward to having you stick around." Kiana uttered disappointedly.

"Haha, sorry Kiana, but I didn't say no, just to give me a little bit of time." Ichigo said, reassuring her.

"Yeah, yeah, just don't go leaving us hanging for too long alright." Kiana grumbled.

Nodding at her words, Ichigo faced Asia who seemed somewhat disheartened, but soon a renewed smile spread on her face, coming to terms with something it seems.

"I'm sorry if this wasn't the outcome you were hoping for Asia." Ichigo apologized.

"No, it's not your fault Ichigo, I understand that you have a lot of people you care about here, after all, this place is your home. It would make me feel guilty if you left them all behind just to satisfy my selfish desire. Still, at least I can hope that I can see you again within a years' time. I wonder would I be considered your senior once you join the academy." Asia mused, much to Ichigo's amusement.

"If that time comes, I'll call you Asia-senpai as recompense." Ichigo joked.

At that, everyone in the room couldn't help but crack a smile. Though Ichigo's unexpected request wasn't what they were hoping for, at least the hope remained that he would join them. After all, though they didn't exactly need the boosted gear, Ichigo would certainly bolster their ranks tremendously with his power as the current Red Dragon Emperor.

The fight to recruit promising individuals within the ranks of the Fire Moth organization would certainly be fierce when the divisions heard of the Red Dragon Emperor joining them.

"Well, seeing as we are just about done here, I hope that you can at least accept this Ichigo, as a gesture of goodwill." Bronya began, retrieving a certain box that she materialized from a subspace.

"Whats this?" perplexed by the unexpected gesture, Ichigo reached out as Bronya handed him the small box.

"Consider it a present." Bronya stated as she placed the small box in his palm.

"A present?" seeing her nod in agreement, Ichigo looked at the small box before getting ready to open it by removing the lid.

"This..."

"Oh my~"

"Bronya…"

"What's that?"

The girls crowded around Ichigo to see what Bronya gave him.

It was a necklace, a silver chain connected to a crystallin logo of the Fire moth Organization. Translucent ephemeral colors could be seen shining within the crystal, like a part of the universe was ripped from the sky and captured within this Moth shaped crystal.

It was beautiful…

"They call it the Monarchs embrace" Bronya explained, looking pleased as Ichigo held the necklace before him, inspecting its beauty.

"Bronya! How did you-No! isn't that a bit too precious to give away as just a sign of goodwill." Mei exclaimed, looking at the necklace in Ichigo's hand with surprise.

"Ara~ to think that Bronya would give away something so precious, makes me jealous I didn't get something like that for my birthday." Kiana teased as she peered behind Ichigo's back to look at it.

"Don't you already have one though." Bronya stated.

"Yeah, but, I had to buy mine, not get it as a gift." Kiana huffed, and complained about a stingy old man.

"Its Beautiful" Asia commented as Ichigo continued to stare at the necklace.

"Yeah, the value of it cannot be compared to anything, attaining one is considered a great honor. In fact, only 12 of them are made every 5 years, with some of them reserved for those who have committed great achievements or as a gift for those who have attained a great position within the organization after years of service and dedication. If anything, only 3 of them are ever sold to the populace, and well, the competition for them is quite fierce." Kiana explained.

Looking deeply within the crystal, Ichigo could easily recognize the various energies within, working seamlessly and in harmony with one another. This here, what he was holding was a culmination of his friend's powers made into an object, a charm of sorts. For the great power hidden within held that of the 12 monarchs minus his of course.

"Even now, you all still eventually find your way back to me." A fond smile appeared on his face briefly before looking back at Bronya who stared at him expectantly.

"Thank you, Bronya. Though are you sure I can accept something so precious like this." Ichigo was no fool, the value of this necklace could not be put into words, the various enchantments, and lifesaving wards, along with a onetime resurrection spell on it made it a priceless artifact.

"Consider it an investment, knowing the history of past Dragon emperors, it is only a matter of time until trouble finds its way to you." Bronya mused. Still. She looked pleased with herself if the slight upturn of her lips said anything.

"Well, that's quite ominous, still, I thank you." Ichigo said as he went over to hug Bronya, much to her surprise at his sudden close contact.

"I hope it's not forward of me to ask, but, do you want to put the necklace on me, seeing as you are the one that gifted it to me." Ichigo asked, his voice whispering into her ear, much to her surprise.

A flustered look started to appear on her face as she felt her face collide with Ichigo's chest, his musculature felt beneath his clothes as her body pressed against his gently from the hug he gave her. Still she could not help but blush a bit as Ichigo requested her to put the necklace on him.

"Of course." Trying to keep it cool, Bronya steadied her breathing as she took the necklace from his hand. "Turn around, please." Doing as he was told, Ichigo let Bronya's hands circle around his neck, the chain casting a cool sensation against his skin as it brushed against it. A moment later, he felt the click as the clasp was connected before he felt Bronya's hands moving away.

"Done."

Turning around Ichigo faced Bronya who kept her gaze on his necklace.

"Well, how does it look." Ichigo asked.

"It suits you." Bronya complimented.

"She's right, it looks good on you, so keep it on at all times, you never know, it might save your life one day." Kiana commented.

"Hmm, though I think Bromya went a bit overboard, it's no less valuable then you, so stay safe, Ichigo." Mei advised.

"Yeah, I hear ya. Still, though we haven't known each other for long, I thank you all, with you three around, I now see a way forward. Perhaps it was fate that brought us together like this." Ichigo mused.

"Woah now, you're starting to sound like my gramps." Kiana laughed, finding his words amusing.

"Yeah well, if any of you ever need anything, don't be afraid to ask, you know where to find me." Ichigo said as he got ready to take his leave.

"Wait! Before you leave, we should take the time to celebrate!" Kiana proposed.

"Oh, a celebration, that sounds like a great idea." Asia commented.

"Is now really the time?" Mei questioned.

"But of course, we should celebrate the success of recruiting a great asset into our organization." Kiana cheered.

"But he hasn't joined us yet." Mei corrected her.

"Details, he might as well be one of us now." Kiana said as she went to the kitchen and lo and behold she brought back some wine bottles.

"Are those…" Bronya stared at the wine bottles in surprise.

"Elysian red wine" Kiana said as she put the bottles on the table, going back for some glasses.

"Where did you even get this, I don't even own any?" Bronya questioned.

"Probably best not to ask." Mei sighed.

Staring at the red liquid within, Asia cast a curious eye on it.

"Is it good?" She asked.

"Most certainly, though, I wouldn't recommend it to you, aren't you both underage." Mei asked.

"Technically I'll be 18 in July, but I don't see the issue, it can't be that strong right." Ichigo for his part, craved the taste, it had been long since he last had a sip of this wine, the last time being before his final battle ages ago.

Looking at each other knowingly, Bronya and Mei shared a look before going back to look at Ichigo. "Well, we're not babysitters so go ahead, I won't stop you if you want a taste. Though try not to go overboard, these bottles are quite potent, in fact I'll say the first glass will put you under." Mei joked, much to his surprise as he did not expect that from the strict woman.

"Sounds like a challenge." Ichigo mused. Though he appeared amused at her words.

"Now that's what I want to hear~" Kiana reappeared once again with glasses in hand. "A party should naturally be wild and entertaining, so feel free to go all out." Kiana exclaimed, clearly excited at the prospect of seeing who would emerge victorious in this little drinking competition.

"I may not look it, but I can hold my own, how bout you, think you can take me." Mei taunted, clearly, she had a competitive streak to her, oh well, he quite liked that. It would be all the more fun when he beat her at her own game.

"Ready when you are." Ichigo nodded, a smirk spreading on his face.

"Ah, I can't believe I'm doing this, but, give me a glass." Bronya sighed, clearly knowing that she wouldn't be able to escape what would come next.

"An unexpected challenger enters the ring!" Kiana said as she began pouring the drinks.

"I-in the case, me too." Asia pumped herself up, wanting to be included as well.

"Hoh~ the underdog wants a chance as well." Kiana joked.

"Very well, the rules are this, full circle each one of us will take a drink until only one remains standing." Kiana said as she passed out the drinks.

Sitting around the couches everyone looked at their glass with the bottles on the table.

"May the best man win." With that the game began.

Hours later…

The afternoon sun had given way to a dark sky as the last fading rays of the sunset beyond the horizon. Still within a certain room, two individuals could be seen staring at each other intently, well one was, the other looked on the edge of inebriation.

Calmly taking a sip of the wine, Ichigo downed the red liquid in one swift motion.

"You're turn." Ichigo calmly stated, his voice and motions as steady as when the game began a couple hours ago.

"Shuutt UPpp" Mei said, taking the partially filled glass in her unsteady hands. Her face slightly flushed from the alcohol.

"You know, you don't have to, I've already won." Ichigo stated.

"Nuuuhh-UH!" Mei slurred, looking at the red liquid intently.

"You're drunk." Ichigo pointed out.

"Amm nott" Bringing the glass to her lips, Mei began to down the drink ever so slowly, much to his exasperation.

Drinking the last bit, Mei slammed the glass on the table with a look of drunken triumph.

"Hah HA~ see taat, I'm theee bessst." Mei proudly proclaimed, a drunken smile on her face.

"Yes, you are." Ichigo agreed, an amused look on his face as he surveyed the room.

The game had gone on for at least 3 hours, though, much to no one's surprise, Asia was eliminated within the first 30 minutes of the game, her tolerance clearly not as strong as the rest of the girls here.

The second was Bronya, though she had decided to give in within the first hour, after she started feeling a headache coming. So, she turned in early to rest.

After 2 hours and 30 minutes, Kiana had finally given in, dropping onto the sofa like a sack of stones, all the while clutching the empty wine bottle as a pillow. A goofy smile on her face as she rested.

Now only he and Mei remained, though clearly, the winner was obvious now. Though in his defense, his body simple wasn't capable of getting drunk no matter how much he consumed, one of the perks of being a Monarch he guessed.

"Ahh~ sHoo HOT!" Looking up from his partially filled glass, Ichigo could see Mei grasping the buttons on her dress shirt as she struggled to loosen them.

"…"

It was only after a couple tries that Mei simply grasped the shirt in both hands and pulled them apart, scattering the buttons everywhere, with some of them flying his way.

Widening his eyes in surprise, Ichigo could only stare flustered at what Mei had done.

A black lace bra could be seen holding twin mountains, a slightly toned stomach with her sweat covered body was exposed to him. Sighing in relief, Mei's flushed face looked back at him expectantly.

"Shoour tuurnn~" She slurred.

"No, I think we're done now." Ichigo said as he tried to keep his eyes anywhere but her breasts.

"Whaaaat~ Buut I dooonnn wanaaa." She said, her hands smacking the table in drunken anger.

"But you won, remember." Ichigo said, clearly wanting to get this over with.

"Huuh? I wonnn~" Mei looked slightly confused, though a second later, a goofy smile plastered itself on her face.

"Thaat's Riightt! I'mm the Beesst." Raising her fist in triumph. Mei settled back down after a moment, looking at him expectantly once more.

"What?" Ichigo asked, confused as to why she was staring at him like that.

"Whaat diid I Winn?" She asked.

"Huh? Um, I guess bragging rights." Ichigo seemed a little lost on that.

"Boooh, I don wan zaaat." Mei's voice slurred.

"Then what do you want?" Ichigo sighed, though amusement entered his voice seeing her act like this.

"…"

Silence greeted him as Mei looked back at him, somewhat squinting as her vision was somewhat blurred. Still, under such intense focus, Ichigo couldn't help but feel a bit uncomfortable.

"Is something on my face." Ichigo asked, though for some reason, Ichigo could feel slight clarity returning to those purple orbs of hers.

"Have we met before?" Mei's voice came a little clearer this time.

"If you're referring to outside of Kuoh, then no, I don't believe we have met before." Ichigo shook his head.

"Is that sooo?" her voice was regaining that slurred speech.

"Yup." Ichigo clarified, his voice calm.

"…"

She looked at him, her flushed face appearing perplexed, before a sudden bout of drowsiness overcame her, causing her to clutch her hand on the table lest she fall backwards.

"You alright." Ichigo asked, having moved over to her side so she wouldn't face plant on the floor or something.

"I'm fine, just tired." She whispered, her voice sounding exhausted.

"Want me to carry you to your bed?" Ichigo offered, seeing that Mei looked ready to pass out.

Under normal circumstance, Mei would have never let anyone do such a thing, but having drank so much, with her motor functions pretty much disabled, and her mind scattered. All she could do was nod her head as her eyelids closed and open repeatedly, her head resting against Ichigo's chest.

Sigh*

Carefully arranging his hands around her body, Ichigo gently picked up Mei in the princess carry position. She felt light in his hands, he could feel her flushed body on his as he maneuvered through the room, trying to figure out just where to place her.

"Screw it, I'll just put her here." Whether or not it was her room, Ichigo gently placed Mei on the bed, her sleeping form immediately twisting to her side, clearly seeking the comfort of the soft bedding.

Taking a few moments to look at her sleeping form and making sure she wasn't about to flip herself off the bed. Ichigo decided it was time to take his leave. Though upon his first step, he suddenly felt a grasp on his clothes, turning to look, he could see Mei grabbing unto the end of his shirt.

"…" wordlessly he moved to move her hand away, though before he could, he could hear Mei mumble something, still his enhanced hearing managed to decipher just what she said.

"Why do you feel so much like Elysia-sama" she said.

Gently unclasping Mei's hand, Ichigo let it rest at her side, soft breaths could be heard coming from Mei as she let the realm of dreams claim her.

"Rest well, Mei." With that Ichigo stepped out of the room.

Stepping back into the living room, Ichigo could see that Asia and Kiana were still in deep sleep, with Bronya having settled in her own room. Seeing as how he was the only conscious occupant at the moment, Ichigo decided to start cleaning up the place a bit.

Placing the bottles of wine back in the kitchen, as well as the glasses back in the sink to wash. Ichigo quickly cleaned up the mess, dumping whatever leftover snacks they had in the trash. Still he did debate if it was fine to leave Asia and Kiana asleep on the couch but, decided that it was best to leave them be, lest he wake them up from their drunken slumber.

Opening the balcony door, Ichigo closed it behind him, letting the cool air brush against him as the night sky laid before him.

Sigh*

Exhaling the breath he was holding, Ichigo clasped the pendant gifted to him, the energy within, so nostalgic as memories of old overcame him.

"If only you knew how close you are to the truth." Ichigo murmured, thinking back to Mei's words.

With that the wind once more whistled past, and so too did he take his leave with the passing wind.

Instead of heading home straight away, Ichigo decided to walk home under the cover of night. With a small walk through the streets of Kuoh under the moonless sky. After all, he still had a lot of energy to burn in his system, and he wasn't ready to head home yet.

Still, many thoughts lingered in his mind. With one of them currently being…

"They are still following you."

The stalker that has been tailing him this whole time.

"Don't worry I'll take care of it. I just needed to find a place to 'talk.'" With that Ichigo headed towards the slightly secluded parts of town.

From rooftop to rooftop, the figure stalked the young man like a shadow of the night. Why that was one may ask? Simple really. Strange reports have been sent to the manor as of late, some of which described the young mistress of the Gremory family, Rias Gremory. To be spending too much time with a strange individual. At first, they were reported to be simply human, but as of late, a powerful aura had begone to take form within him. This of course caused some unrest, so taking some time to get the facts straightened out, the figure brought it on herself to quell strange rumors.

And much to her worry, there was indeed more then met the eye in this situation. Especially after witnessing her ladyship interact with the human.

"How troublesome, I would have thought Rias to be more responsible." Grayfia muttered disappointedly.

"While I understand her situation, it would be best if she didn't do something that would antagonize the Phenex clan, last thing we need is a dispute between them and us." Grayfia sighed. The pain of politics and whatnot, though Rias thought herself free within this little town, what she failed to realize was that many eyes were still placed on her, be it her own family or that of the Phenex clan. If word got out that the heiress of the Gremory clan had gotten involved romantically with a human, no not just a human, but the current Red Dragon Emperor, the repercussions would not be pretty, with ridicule and scorn being the least of her concerns.

Taking another leap, Grayfia landed on the sidewalk as her query had left the human traffic behind and walked through the alleys of Kuoh. While she could have had a familiar do the tracking for her, she had wished to get in contact with the young man, one of the reasons being to ascertain his intentions with Rias, and the other was to effectively remind him of his place and come to an understanding where he and Rias are no longer a picture.

Having followed him since the end of classes, to his meeting with three individuals that somehow sent warning bells in her head. Grayfia was currently not feeling very optimistic about the intentions of this young man, especially so after his interaction with those three powerful individuals she felt inside the building. Whatever or whoever this young man was involved with, he would by no means be allowed near Rias hence forth.

Walking into the dark alley, Grayfia had no problem seeing in the dark as she made her way towards her target.

Spiky orange hair that looked slightly grown out, chocolate brown eyes, and a lean body. Certainly, the young man carried himself with a confidence only those sure of themselves had, but the movement of his feet, the grace with which he carried himself. Grayfia took note of all this and concluded in her mind.

Dangerous.

Though she couldn't feel the power within him, Grayfia knew that behind that exterior lied something strong. Something ancient. This was troubling for her, after all, just what was this young man hoping to achieve by getting close to the young lady.

Still, that's why she was here, for no matter what power this young man had, it would be nothing against her, after all, she was the strongest "Queen" in the underworld, nothing short of an Archangel, dragon king or god could hope to contend against her who had the power of the satans of old.

Yes, the maid was sure of herself, regardless of what secrets this young man had, if he tried anything, he would be in for a rude awakening.

"Need something." Came the rush of words as something whispered close in her ear. Widening her eyes in surprise, Grayfia felt a presence behind her, a looming shadow as it moved its hand to place it on her shoulder.

Ice magic exploded from her body, encasing the hand that had touched her body as she swiftly moved to extend the distance between her and the mysterious man that had somehow snuck past her senses.

"Well, that's certainly quite the reaction." Said the young man as he inspected his frozen arm, Ice reaching all the way up his elbow.

Staring wearily at the young man she had been trailing all this time, Grayfia could not comprehend just how he had managed to not only detect her, but also sneak up on her, despite having her eyes on him this whole time.

"How interesting, your power managed to breach past my natural defenses, sure as weakened as they are at the moment, it's still an impressive feat nonetheless." Ichigo complimented his stalker.

"…"

"Not much of a talker huh…well, I guess it certainly is a great change of pace from that insane stray devil, Evelyn. To the silent and refined beauty of a maid. Talk about moving up in the world." Ichigo joked.

A raised brow met his joke as he said that.

"Still, to think that I would meet another troublesome devil after my last meeting. It would seem the more things change the more they stay the same." Ichigo said as he began to flex his hand, forming a fist, before applying pressure, shattering the ice in the process.

"So, what is someone of your caliber doing in the human world?" Ichigo asked the wary Grayfia who watched his every movement in case he tried something.

"…"

"Hmm, regardless of your intentions, I hope we can settle this peacefully if possible. Last thing I want is to start a fight with you in the middle of the city, and taking your power into account. I'd have to sacrifice an arm and a leg if I want to take you down with my current capabilities." Ichigo confessed, though he was pretty blaze about the whole situation, even going as far as threatening the devil, but, he was no fool.

In the brief moment where her power came into contact with his, he knew he was facing someone that stood at a level far above what Evelyn could hope to achieve. If he were to simply fight this "maid" using his magic and martial skills, it would be an arduous battle. Though with his passives active, he could certainly obtain the advantage in the end, adding in the boosted gear for further assurance.

Still, the damage would be catastrophic, and he wasn't sure he would be able to contain it if they went all out from the beginning.

Tension settled over the area, an imperceptible weight that subconsciously caused nearby humans to avoid the area. Still, the little staring contest only lasted for a few more moments before the silver haired maid finally relented, retracting her aura in the process.

Seeing that the devil was more amicable, Ichigo receded his as well.

"…Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Grayfia Lucifuge, head maid of the House of Gremory. Pleased to make your acquaintance." The now named Maid, Grayfia, introduced herself. Giving Ichigo a small nod of acknowledgement.

"Ichigo Kurosaki." He simply said, not wanting to reveal much else.

"So, mind telling me why you've been following me this whole time? And for the love of God, don't spout some nonsense like you're just here to sight see." Ichigo asked, though he did find a bit of amusement as he saw Grayfia's face scowl slightly at dropping God's name in front of her.

Still, not one to rise to the slight provocation he just did, Grayfia upheld her calm demeaner as she schooled her features and proceeded to explain her intentions. She was already caught, she might as well get her message across as she intended.

"Ichigo Kurosaki, Age 17, Currently attending Kuoh academy as a 3rd year. Fathers name: Isshin Kurosaki, a doctor who runs his own clinic. Mother: Masaki Kurosaki, full time housewife. Two sisters, Yuzu Kurosaki and Karin Kurosaki, middle school students." Grayfia, as if reading out his personal information continued.

"Previous state of residence, Karakura town, where upon you where expelled from your previous highschool for repeated violent behavior. Getting into a mass brawl with students from a neighboring school and injuring them to the point of needing them to be put in the hospital for the foreseeable future in intensive care." Grayfia indifferently continued, bringing up his dark past.

"Left with no choice, and seeing that no school would willingly take you in, your father pulled some strings and got you admitted into the recently co-ed Kuoh academy, where your family was forced to move to Kuoh town." Grayfia noticed that Ichigo's scowl had become slightly pronounced, clearly displeased with her words that were clearly aimed to reproach him, despite her lack of emotion.

"No noteworthy actions as of late, though most curious, a shift from your normal behavioral patterns, less violent and hot headed, more social and composed as of late. Your otherwise unremarkable life has seemed to change, most noticeably, what should have been an otherwise unremarkable human, has shifted, to something else." Grayfia voiced out, looking at Ichigo in the eyes as she said all this with a calm expression. Though Ichigo himself seemed to take this in stride, wanting to see just where Grayfia was getting at.

"Recent analysis, your otherwise human aura, has shifted to that of a dragon. Upon recent inquiries, we have deduced you to be a sacred gear user, more specifically, a Longinus wielder." Grayfia stated, seeing that Ichigo didn't seem surprised by the news that they knew this.

"…"

"Ichigo Kurosaki, wielder of the boosted gear." Taking a slight bow in courtesy, Grayfia continued. "It is a pleasure in meeting the current Red Dragon Emperor." Lifting her head up, she could see Ichigo looked otherwise indifferent to her knowledge of his true identity.

"So, you did a little bit of a background check on me, am I supposed to be impressed that you found all this out? Tell me, what exactly do you want from me, are you perhaps hoping to get me to join the devil's faction, to turn me into an evil piece for your master." Ichigo mused, his eyes looking coldly at Grayfia. While Ichigo didn't find it surprising that his personal information and secret identity as the red dragon emperor to be exposed so soon, it was the fact that this devil dared to utter the name of his family, his father, mother, and sisters, as if indirectly threatening him by saying their names.

Annoying.

But, unavoidable.

"The opposite in fact, if anything, we would like to request that you keep your distance from the young mistress, lady Rias Gremory if possible." Grayfia said, much to his surprise.

"What?" His voice which had maintained a cool and otherwise calm tone, soon shifted to a cold and otherwise slightly hostile tone as if not quite believing what his ears just heard.

Ignoring his displeased expression. Grafia continued. "We are aware that you and the lady have developed a sort of 'friendship' with one another, still, we hope that for her sake, that you will keep your distance and refrain from meeting with one another for the foreseeable future." Grayfia requested, though it sounded more like a demand if anything.

"You know Devil, I really want to know where you got the confidence to demand such a thing out of me." The edge in his voice only grew increasingly sharper, his scowl more pronounced, and the barely withheld contempt in his voice was all the more palpable as the tension in the air grew increasingly as he glared at the maid who had the audacity to speak to him like that.

The gall.

Returning his glare with her own frosty look, Grayfia was ready to get confrontational should the young Red Dragon Emperor decide to attack, and as much as she had no desire to fight the young man, it was out of her control if he did not heed her advice. Her sole reason for even being here was to warn him, nothing else, regardless of his status and future potential, a ticking time bomb like the Red Dragon Emperor could not be allowed near the young mistress. Otherwise she feared a red-haired fool of a husband might get involved out of worry.

"…"

Staring at each other for a few more moments, and just when it seemed like a battle was going to be unavoidable, Ichigo receded his aura, controlling his anger, and cooling his head. Though his scowl was still there.

"…Alright, pray and tell just why I should listen to any of these demands, what power do you hold that can command me, under whose orders do you believe hold power over me." Ichigo sneered. "You might be strong, but you hold not the power, or authority to make me submit." Ichigo continued.

"So, tell me Devil, what is it that you had hoped to achieve here aside from earning my ire." Ichigo looked annoyedly at Grayfia, who continued to look coldly at him.

Still, it wasn't long before she responded.

"Because, boy, you know not the danger your own existence brings to those around you, and while I may not know how long you have truly come into your power, it remains to be seen just what sort of threat you will become in the future." Grayfia voice was like ice and steel, reprimanding him. "Tell me, do you know of the heavenly pair, of their bloody and violent history, of their rivalry, and the past wielders who all ultimately met their end tragically at the hands of the two dragons, consumed by their own power." Grayfia said, closing the distance between her and him.

"Where the red one goes, the white one follows and vice versa." Stepping up to Ichigo, Grayfia looked him in the eyes.

"The white one has also awakened. How long till the both of you meet your inescapable fates, intertwined as they are. Your battle is inevitable, and those that try to interfere between the two have never had a good ending." Grayfia said, her frosty eyes locking into his own.

"Which is why, I was sent here, to warn you, and hope that we can come to an understanding." Grayfia stepped back from Ichigo who seemed to take her words in.

"We have no intentions of being your enemy, but, we simply wish for no danger to befall the young mistress, and if that means removing certain risk elements from her life than, we will do what must be done." Grayfia spoke with a hint of finality.

"…"

"I see now…" Ichigo who had thought over Grayfia's words finally understood what this was all about.

For how could he not know.

Ddraig and Albion were the single greatest dragons bar the dream and the infinite. Amongst their kind the heavenly pair stood at the apex, unrivaled with only seeing each other as equals and rivals. Even Ichigo during his time as Monarch had seen the heavenly pair squabble in endless arguments and pointless brawls, the devastation that they wrought and the terrifying power that they could unleash at a moment notice.

Even after their destruction, it would appear that their long-lived feud had carried on through their wielders. While he himself could say he would never fall to the madness of the power of the red dragon emperor, the same could not be said for his "rival" if he could even call them that.

So, with all this information, Ichigo had come to a single conclusion.

"I understand, so in the end, this is all Ddraig's fault." Ichigo concluded.

Still a voice couldn't help but voice out its dissatisfaction.

"These are some preposterous accusations, I am of no fault in this. In fact, it was my past wielders that had no self-control, indulging in my power despite my warnings, they who dreamed of being lofty and high inevitably ended up being consumed in their conquest for strength, that or killed by the white one." Ddraig defended himself.

"Doesn't change the fact that I now have the Gremory house breathing down my neck for being the red dragon emperor, last thing I want is to start a fight with Rias' family." Ichigo couldn't help but sigh at the current situation he was in now.

Seeing the change in mood from the previous hostility the boy displayed to the look of slight irritation, Grayfia couldn't help but look perplexed at his sudden change in demeaner.

Sigh*

Shifting his sight to Grayfia who seemed to await a response from him, Ichigo felt that things have become quite complicated.

"Grayfia was it?" Ichigo asked, though he didn't await a response as he continued. "It appears that we started on the wrong foot. Why don't we start over? Perhaps if I explain the situation a bit it will ease the…misunderstanding somewhat." Ichigo shifted his stance to a relaxed one, no longer concerned that Grayfia would attack him.

"Misunderstanding? I don't believe there is one, you are the Red dragon Emperor are you not? As the head maid, it is my duty to simply relay the information, if you wish to speak out your grievances you would have to speak with lord and lady Gremory." Grayfia clarified.

"Yes…of course. Regardless you seem to hold quite the esteem rank amongst the nobility of the underworld, and before you deny it, I'm not foolish enough to believe that someone of your caliber to be a mere 'maid' though if you wish to play the role of one, continue to do so, I care not." Turning on his heel, Ichigo proceeded to walk out of the alley, fully expecting Grayfia to accompany him.

And as he expected, the soft clacks of heels falling behind him step by step resounded through the alley.

Grayfia had many thoughts in her mind at the moment, each one with a question that demanded to be answered.

Having made contact with the target after observing him for the past day, Grayfia for all accounts did not know what to make of him, an enigma to be sure. Yet, something was nagging at her, at the back of her mind that this whole situation was…wrong, ever more so as she sat across from orange haired young man who was currently taking his sweet time eating away a strawberry flavored ice cream.

"…"

Noticing her stare, Ichigo who was mid bite from swallowing his spoonful of ice cream shifted to look at Grayfia who looked at him expressionlessly.

"What? Something on my face." Ichigo asked as he reached for a napkin to make sure he didn't have ice cream smeared somewhere on him.

"…Why did you bring me here?" Grayfia asked as she broke away from her thoughts.

Having followed him here, Grayfia was somewhat lost as to the purpose of why he brought her here if he wanted to explain himself to her.

"No particular reason, I just felt like having something sweet after such a bitter discussion." Ichigo explained, though the slight jab at her made Grayfia eye twitch somewhat.

"Though, I guess if anything I figured it would do for a quiet place to talk, not a lot people here at this time of night." Ichigo said. Taking in their surroundings, it was true enough as they were the only ones here at the moment, with the staff occasionally taking a peek at them, more specifically, Grayfia who's state of attire was…not within the norm.

Still the place was quiet.

"I see." Was all she said as she went back to staring at him.

Having refused his hospitality after he offered to buy some ice cream for her, Grayfia had instead shifted her focus to understand the enigma before her. From his mannerisms to his appearance, Grayfia analyzed everything.

Objectively, he was a handsome young man, certainly worth a second look. His mannerisms were by far graceful and purposeful, no wasted movement whatsoever. It reminded her of the nobles who carried themselves with a certain elegance, which was surprising and added ever more to the mystery that was Ichigo Kurosaki.

Though if she had a complaint it would be his way of speaking, too casual for her liking.

Still, the confidence with which he carried himself, it reminded her so much of her husband and lord; Sirzhech Lucifer.

As for his power…

While she was not weak in any way, shape, or form. Grayfia was willing to admit that this young man, this Ichigo Kurosaki was not someone she wanted to trifle with. For in the brief contest of wills that they had, Grayfia not only felt the might of the Red Dragon Emperor, but the layered power masked within the pressure.

An abyss of power that would drown the world.

If only briefly, she had felt the urge to kneel before him lest she be crushed.

Still, it was for that exact reason, that Grayfia could not calm her heart, though her outward appearance was as cool as ice, it was her beating heart that refused to settle despite her efforts.

Grayfia knew power, experienced power, and warred with power.

And through all the beings that she has faced whether it be on the battlefield or in passing.

Few would have made her react as she is now.

Therefore…

Looking at his form as he finished his ice cream, Grayfia who had been analyzing him came to a single conclusion.

"There are no openings." Grayfia concluded.

A change had occurred and she and him knew it. How it happened she didn't know, but from this exchange, Grayfia knew that her chance had slipped away.

Pushing the plastic cup away as he finished, Ichigo shifted his attention to Grayfia. His brown eyes that had that calmly bore into her own gray ones. For a solid minute as they stared each other in silence, Ichigo who seemed to be analyzing her with a slight intensity, finally relented and spoke the first words that would define the conversation moving forward.

"I will never give up on her." Ichigo declared.

Somewhat caught off guard by his words that he so resolutely declared. Grayfia widened her eyes briefly before frowning.

"That is not your decision to make." Grayfia shot back.

"You're right, it isn't. By all means, I'm overstepping my bounds in more ways than one." Ichigo agreed with Grayfia, much to her confusion.

"What do you mean?" she asked.

Instead of answering, Ichigo reached into his pocket and pulled out a small piece of paper, placing on the table for Grayfia to inspect.

All it took was a glance for Grayfia to recognize it for what it was.

"A contract seal?" Grayfia stared at it perplexed.

"Yes, I knew you would recognize it." Ichigo nodded.

"What does this have to do with anything." Grayfia questioned.

"Simple, you Devils use contracts to elevate your status, and humans summon you in order to fulfill their desires. A win-win situation." Ichigo explained.

"Are you saying that Lady Rias created a contract with you?" Grayfia asked skeptically.

"No. I've never once activated it as you can see, that and…my desires have already been fulfilled." Ichigo revealed, much to Grayfia's confusion. Still, Ichigo continued to explain as a fond smile spread on his face. "You know, I've never been one to create meaningful relationships with people, even during my childhood, not once have I ever had what I could call a friend." Ichigo explained.

"I don't know what it was about me that drew people away, though I once remember asking my peers why they didn't like me, the answer that I received was simple." Looking Grayfia in the eyes, Ichigo's eyes twinkled in amusement.

"They called me creepy in all their childlike wonder." Ichigo lightly laughed.

"Still, as I grew older, the answer changed from creepy, to scary, even fear. I didn't quite understand, but when I asked an adult who couldn't even bare to look me in the eyes, all they said to me was that I made them feel inadequate." Ichigo continued, his eyes shifting to Grayfia's own.

"It is only as of recent events that I understand why." Ichigo stated. "Though our origins are the same, though our bodies spill the same blood, the simple fact remains that they could somewhat perceive the power buried deep within me on an instinctual level, the innate ability of self-preservation." Ichigo revealed, his voice shifting to a slightly somber tone.

"They could not understand what they felt, they could not understand me, so I was casted aside." Ichigo concluded with a sigh.

"As I grew older, problems only arose, it didn't help that I was quite a hotheaded individual either. To aggravate matters along with my outward appearance that drew the wrong kind of people to me." Ichigo mused.

"Point is, you're right, I was indeed forced to leave my hometown, but in that aspect, a small part of me also hoped to start anew, in a new place, away from familiar faces." Ichigo said.

"It was only till I began attending Kuoh academy that my life took a turn for the better." His voice took on a more jovial tone.

"And it all began with a troublesome princess." Ichigo smirked in amusement as he thought of Rias. His Rias.

"To this day, I find myself asking why, just what could have compelled her to reach out to me as she did, just what did Rias see in me to approach me, when even my own people could not." Ichigo could see Grayfia listening intently to his story.

"Perhaps I will never know the real answer, but regardless, it doesn't change the fact that through my time attending Kuoh academy, through all my time in having the pleasure of getting to know Rias Gremory. I have come to see her as my first friend in this life, and she will always hold a special place within my heart, for fulfilling my one and only desire in this world." Ichigo confessed, and based on the slight widening of Grayfia's eyes, she found his answer to be surprising.

"You know what's even more surprising, it was the fact that she was brave enough to not only befriend me, but to express her feelings for me and reveal her true nature." Ichigo explained, memories of that night in the park coming to mind.

"She what?" Grayfia questioned in slight surprise. Though from the reports and brief observations she had made, Grayfia knew that Rias and Ichigo were more than simply friends, but she didn't quite now just how far their relationship went.

"To think that Rias would…" Shaking those thoughts from her mind. Grayfia focused to what Ichigo would say next.

"Though I knew of her innate nature as a devil beforehand, thanks to a certain stray that had made Kuoh its hunting ground. though before you ask, I've already eliminated the threat." Ichigo revealed as he watched Grayfia nod her head in acceptance.

"Anyways, though I only knew Rias for a month or two, in that time that we got to know each other, she had proven herself to be different from what I imagined a devil to be like, no offense, but, she appeared so very...human." Ichigo proclaimed. "I found myself growing fond of her, so when she expressed her desire to be with me, I…couldn't help but desire the same thing." Ichigo grew somewhat flustered at that part, and Grayfia took notice of his expression, the way his eyes twinkled in joy, a slight smile that spread on his face, the way his body seemed to relax as he talked about her.

It was a look she was all too familiar with, for she too had made those same expressions, though rarely and only when she was with her dear husband.

"This is far more troublesome than I imagined." Grayfia concluded as the unsettling feeling grew within her.

Still she had to ask the question, if only to verify her suspicions.

"Are you in love with Lady Rias?." Grayfia found herself struggling to say the words aloud.

"…"

Ichigo for his part did not respond immediately, instead, he shifted his focus towards the window, taking in the outside view as he thought over Grayfia's question.

Did he love Rias…

Closing his eyes, Ichigo spread his senses, feeling the town and all its inhabitants within, from his family, to the random citizens, and his friends he left earlier behind back in their apartment. He searched till it inevitable fell on his query, Rias.

He could feel her, see her, even now, as she sat silently in her desk in the ORC room, Ichigo could easily feel her state of mind. The way her heart beat, to the slight frown as she thought over a certain problem, or a slight smile as she thought over something funny. Her presence that reminded him of an all-consuming black hole due to her power of destruction. Yet despite that, he found her presence comforting, if only because it was hers.

Memories of the brief time they spent together overcame him, making him feel like it was just yesterday when Rias had approached him on that field. How time flies.

Opening his eyes, Ichigo once more faced Grayfia who awaited his answer.

"…I can't say if what I feel is truly love or just fondness, but, Rias has placed her faith in me, her trust, and desire to be with me. Perhaps given enough time, these feelings of desire that I feel, will also blossom into what could be called love, or perhaps they already have." Ichigo confessed.

Grayfia for her part seemed conflicted by his response.

"You know, Rias has spoken of her engagement to another man, one she had clearly shown great disdain for, and while I won't pretend to know the whole situation, I will simply leave you with this." Ichigo's eyes hardened, his resolve showing clear in his eyes for what he would say next.

"Rias belongs to me, I will not allow another man to touch her, especially one who she clearly despises. So, regardless of what comes next, should she require my strength I will aid her." Ichigo declared to Grayfia who appeared stunned for a moment only to glare back at him, clearly displeased by his declaration.

"Those are some dangerous words; do you even understand what you are saying? You would not only be making House of Gremory your enemy, but the entire underworld as well. Do you even understand the value that Rias holds in devil society, many would have tried to kill you where you stand if they had heard your words." Grayfia warned him.

"Perhaps, though I'm not one to shy away from overwhelming odds." Wasn't that the truth, after all, it was him who single handedly brought devilkind to their knees all those ages ago. Sure, he wasn't at his full strength at the moment, and the thought of going against the entire underworld did make him a bit nervous should he actually follow through with it, still, it won't change the fact that so long as Rias stands at his side, he would protect her from any and all threats.

No matter what it takes.

"It's as you said remember, the wielders of the heavenly pair are all crazy bastards, and as the current red dragon emperor I'm no different." Ichigo joked, much to Grayfia's disbelief. Though soon slight amusement glinted in her eyes as she heard his words, stunning Ichigo somewhat as a small smile spread on her face.

"it would seem so." Grayfia said, amused at his words. Still, her slight break in character soon shifted back to her earlier expressionlessness as she got up from her seat.

"I will convey your words to lord and lady Gremory." Gryfia announced. "Despite your rudeness, it doesn't change the fact that you are the Red Dragon Emperor, so even the noble houses will have to take you seriously if you have decided to stake your claim towards courting the lady of house Gremory." Grayfia explained.

"I see, well, do try to put in a good word for me will ya. Despite my earlier words, I have no desire to truly make the underworld my enemy. Plus, I doubt Rias would be impressed with me if I start causing trouble for her." Ichigo mused, a grin on his face as he thought of Rias expression if she found out about this conversation.

"A bit late for that, but, I will speak of your intentions." Grayifa nodded, though much to his surprise, Gayfia proceeded to perform a light bow towards him, he could feel her gratitude coming from the way she performed it. "I thank you, Ichigo Kurosaki, for standing by Lady Rias side, despite not owing anything to her, it is…heartwarming knowing that she is in capable hands." Grayfia acknowledged him.

"It's nothing, besides, I owe her more than you realize." Ichigo commented.

"Regardless, I will take my leave now, it was…a pleasure speaking with you." Grayfia said as she moved to leave the shop.

"Safe travels." Ichigo waved at her as she left the shop.

Ding*

Like that, Ichigo was once more left to his own thoughts, the conversation leaving him much to think about.

"It's only going to get troublesome from here on out, I can feel it." With that, Ichigo also moved to leave, it was long past the time to head home now.

Author Note

Alright guys, sorry for the wait, I should have had this chapter out a whole month ago. But, things don't always go according to plan, and school has been kicking my ass lately. Plus, I've been playing that new game "Starfield" by Bethesda. Just as I expected, its skyrim in space. Anyways we're not here to talk about me. So let's move on to some discussion.

So, pretty much this chapter is a prelude to what many of you can expect already, the arrival of the rating game between Rias and Riser. As such this chapter mainly focuses on sorting a few problems. Namely, Rias and Ichigo's relationship.

From a certain viewpoint it is considered a problem, that really should have been addressed. Rias for all intents and purposes is a "Princess." Rias status amongst the nobility of the underworld is quite powerful if one thinks about it. Not only is she the heiress to the Gremory clan, which holds the rank of duke, making her family quite influential in the underworld with only a very few families outranking her own. She is also the little sister of the most powerful devil in history who also happens to hold the rank of Satan. A brother who is widely known to care deeply for his younger sister.

As for Ichigo, to the knowledge of most people, Ichigo is a simple human, nothing special about that, but to those who know his "secret" he is the current Red Dragon Emperor. That in itself should be a big red flag for many factions and this is why. The Heavenly dragons, Ddraig and Albion are known as the single greatest dragons in history, bar the dream and infinite. They are also the greatest troublemakers that would put the likes of other supernatural beings to shame. The dragons care not of the consequences they bring to the world and those around them, they only respect power and themselves, all things are either beneath them or above them, no in between. This is especially so for the heavenly pair, whose rivalry has stretched past their own destruction and into the sacred gears that God had created.

Throughout the centuries, untold number of bloody battles have happened between these two, and many have come to revere them. Be it in life or death, Ddraig and Albion remain a threat, and it doesn't help that their wielders also share the unfortunate fate of bearing their long feud that have span eons. For this purpose, many factions would naturally actively avoid trying to get in between these two forces of nature.

This is also why Grayfia is here, she is warning Ichigo because she knows of his fate to one day face the white one, and she wishes to spare Rias the heartache of seeing Ichigo either one day succumb to the power of Ddraig, or get killed by the white one. For she has watched many previous wielders suffer the same fate, so she has no reason to believe that Ichigo is any different.

Which also puts into perspective just how desperate Rias truly was when she made Issei her pawn in canon DXD, just what the hell was she thinking recruiting a ticking time bomb that was the Red Dragon Emperor. Like did Rias truly know the consequences of that decision, or did she not do her research.

Well, I guess it helped that issei was a weakling who knew nothing about the greater world around him. But, Ichigo isn't Issei. Ichigo has power, he knows how to control it, and Grayfia more than any, has come to realize that she isn't dealing with some newbie, but THE Red Dragon Emperor in that little contest of will they had. She knows that she would have not been able to beat him, not unless she went all out right from the start.

On a side note, Ichigo while strong, isn't unbeatable at the moment, Grayfia would have had a chance at taking him down if he didn't go all out from the start, or if he didn't use his passive abilities. While it would certainly cost him a limb if he fought Grayfia with all he had. He would be able to cease the win much earlier with his passives active. Law creation, while powerful isn't absolute, anyone powerful enough could shrug off the restriction imposed. After all, a law is only as powerful if it is enforced by great power. Ichigo just doesn't have the current ability to properly bind down a Satan class opponent, while he could briefly do it, it wouldn't be long till it wore off.

And Miracles only go so far if someone is that far above you, like Gerard who kept getting curbstomped by the captains who kept killing him time after time.

So, at the moment, if Ichigo were to let's say, fight Sirzechs, he would more than likely die, no questions asked. But that is for the moment, Ichigo is still growing in power, and it wouldn't be long till he surpasses Sirzechs in power. After all, A Monarch is just that powerful when compared to most beings, they are simply at a higher level of existence that can't be reached by most.

Well moving on, I hope that I encapsulated that prestige and infamy that comes with being the wielder of Ddraig or Albion. I feel like more respect should have been put in their name during the anime. But, it's kind of hard to do so with Issei dragging their name through the mud.

Anyways, having said all this, just how will the nobility of the underworld respond to Ichigo's claim to Rias' heart. What kind of problems will that cause in the coming chapter.

Also, just what exactly is God stake in Ichigo's reemergence in the world. What secrets are hidden just out of reach, and how will Elysia react to the coming change that will arrive sooner than later.

Guess we'll have to find out together won't we.

Updating the list.

HAHAHAHA

I bet ya'll weren't expecting that were ya.

Alright before I hear bitching and groaning, I want you to hear me out. As a fan of Tower of God (TOG) I could not help myself but add one of my favorite characters into my story. It just so happens that Eduan Khun just fits the bill for Monarch of Thunder. That and I just don't see myself being able to write a TOG fanfic due to my reluctance of rereading all that simping Baam had me go through. So, I will satisfy myself with having him here.

As for Kenpachi, well as TYBW put it, Kenpachi is the EDGE, there is nothing he can't cut, so naturally he is the Monarch of Severance. You will eventually find out what that means aside from the obvious meaning to cut apart/sever.

Also, another thing I warned you all the first chapter. There will be Harem, no I will not take back what I said, I will go through with it. After all, I took great inspiration from "Bleach: Rebirth of the Guardian" by fanboy913, "Naberius Heir" by Liam G, "Ichigo awakens" by Teloch, and "Do me a Wrong" by ChaosEmperorNex. Each story helping me envision what I'm currently writing today.

Besides I know my audience, this is a DxD crossover fanfic, aside from great world building, I know the other reasons you guys are here.

Nudge* Nudge* wink* wink*

Alright I'll stop.

I hope you guys enjoyed the latest chapter that I admittedly had trouble writing this time, mainly due to the fact that I had to stop multiple times throughout the process, and may have lost some of my previous ideas as I wrote it, that and the flow might seem weird at times due to me taking a long time writing it due to school work, procrastination, and lack of imagination at the time.

Still I hope it was up to par with what I've been writing thus far.

Anyways. I hope you all have a great day and continue to enjoy my work moving forward. I can't promise I'll be able to deliver another chapter within a short time, but, I will try.
