A young man was sleeping peacefully as his body was sprawled out with the covers hanging off him, only his snores sounding through the room.

Quietly his door open and in came a figure that casually strolled over to his bed, gazing at him form the person let out a small sigh before deciding to wake up the boy.

"Wake up…" the voice sounded feminine as the figure tried to wake the younger male only for him to ignore her causing a tick mark to form above her head.

"Shu, it's time to wake up." The blonde said as she shook his shoulder only to hear grumbling in return as he turned his head and pulled the covers a bit. This seemed to tick off the other female who gently moved the blonde to the side before she yelled at her son.

"I SAID WAKE UP YOU LITTLE BRAT!" She shouted at the top of her lungs, which seemed to have work as the boy eyes widened in surprise.

"AAHH!" He yelled as he jumped off the bed on instinct and landed on the floor roughly. "Ow." He groaned as he clutched his head trying to soothe the pain. The woman walked to the other side of the bed to greet him.

"That wake you up?" The woman asked roughly while earning a small jab from the blonde.

"Yeah, it did." He growled in annoyance as he turned his head to stare at the woman in front of him. "The hell was that for?"

"Don't speak to me in that tone. You're lucky, I couldn't kick you awake."

"Rumi, kicking our son awake is not always the answer." The blonde stated as the white-haired woman turned her head.

Rumi Usagiyama, one of Shu's mothers. She had an athletic build with tan skin, red eyes and straight white hair that reached past down her waist. Atop of her head were a pair of long rabbit ears and she had a round white tail due to her quirk.

"Well, sometimes it's only way to get his lazy ass up!" She retorted as she crossed her arms under her bust. "School starts in an hour and you're still here sleeping in."

"Well excuse me for trying to get some extra sleep." He muttered under his breath but thanks to Rumi's enhanced hearing she heard him and suddenly chopped his head.

SMACK!

"OW!" He yelped.

"No complaining!" She yelled as the boy clutched his head. "Complaining is for wimps, Rumi stated before turning around and walked out the door.

"Did you really have to smack me so hard?" He whined while rubbing his head.

"I'm going to go ahead and make breakfast; you better be dressed by the time I'm finished. You got 7 minutes. Ryuko please make sure he doesn't procrastinate." And with that she left.

"That woman is too much sometimes." Shu said while getting up.

"6 minutes!" Rumi shouted as the boy groaned while Ryuko giggled.

'Stupid enhanced hearing.'

"Well, too be fair you both love annoying each other, with your pranks and her surprise kicks I'm still surprised you too haven't destroyed the house down."

"That's because we have you to keep us in check." Shu replied as Ryuko smirked.

"Exactly." She agreed while ruffling his head. "Now go ahead and get dress, and be ready for a surprise kick when you come down." She warned while leaving before stopping at the door. "Oh, and you might want to hurry or you'll be late." She finished as he rolled his eyes before standing and changed.

Then realization kicked in when she said that he'll be late.

'I overslept!?' He thought as he looked at his clock and saw that it was 8:25 which meant he only had 5 minutes to get dress and 30 to get to school. He knew that it would he still had to brush his teeth and do the morning essentials for hygiene which would take at least 5 and then 20 minutes to school if he ran, and if he's lucky he might get breakfast on the way.

Rumi was still in her morning clothes as she was making breakfast while Ryuko helped her, both women listening to the tv talk about the weather or local news. Rumi had on a workout bra and some shorts while Ryuko was wearing a white top and black shorts. The latter was giggling as she heard the commotion above them, confusing her wife.

"What's so funny?" Rumi asked.

"Oh nothing, just that I made our little boy think that he was going to be late for school." Ryuko replied as Rumi raised an eyebrow at what she meant then looked at the clock before eyes slightly widened in realization and gave her a smirk.

"You sneaky she-devil." The rabbit woman commented as the dragon lady gave her a wink.

"I'm right here." They heard Shu shout as they turned around and scanned him from top to bottom. Wearing the traditional Tokyo uniform, as he struggling to put on the tie. "Dammit, why didn't tell me I overslept? I could've gotten some food…in." He was speaking in a rush trying to get himself together before looking at the island and saw a buffet of food and then at the clock that said 7:30 instead of 8:30.

"What…. But… I thought… it was…" He looked at his phone and saw that it said 7:30 instead of 8 along with a few text notifications and then looked up at his mothers', both of them smirking.

"Hmm, one whole hour to spare. You're getting better." Rumi said casually as Shu looked back at his phone and then realized what happened before glaring at them.

"You changed my time?" He asked.

"Mmhm." Ryuko admitted with a hum.

"How did you even get into my phone?" He wondered.

"You need a better password." They both replied causing him to sweat drop that they both can go into phone easily. 'Maybe I should use numbers instead of words.' He thought as he looked at the table and let out a sigh. 'Well, I'm already here, might as well eat.'

As he sat, he was given a plate by Ryuko and saw that they were having omelets for breakfast along with some bacon, sausage, fruit, and biscuits. He immediately grabbed his plate and filled it up with two omelets and a good amount of bacon and biscuits, arguing with Rumi on the amount of bacon he was taken before being scolded by Ryuko. After that mess, they went ahead and ate before finishing and now all of them were sitting with smiles on their faces.

"Ah, that was good."

"I still can't believe you two tricked me into getting up." Shu said as Rumi smirked at him.

"Well, if you weren't such a heavy sleeper then maybe we wouldn't have to." The white-haired rabbit lady spoke as he groaned.

"Or staying up all night and spending time on video games or editing photos." Ryuko added.

"Alright, alright, I have terrible sleeping habits." He admitted earning giggles from both mothers. "I'll try to get to bet better."

"Speaking of habits, it's that time of year again." Rumi informed as Ryuko eyes widened a bit.

"Oh, is it time already?" She asked as her wife nodded. "I guess I better I call my agency and tell them I'll be off for the next couple of days." She said before suddenly being grabbed around her stomach as Rumi picked her up.

"Looks like you and I are having some fun." Rumi said as the blonde giggled while Shu looked confused before remembering something.

"Wait, it's mating season? Oh dear." He asked before realizing that he would have to make sure he set his headphones to extremely high volume.

"Is something wrong, hatchling?" Ryuko asked calling her pet name for her son.

"No, just reminding myself to turn up the volume on my headphones." He joked before getting his cheek pinched by her. "Ow."

"Not funny. You know this is something you're going to have to do too you know." Rumi commented as she let him go. "You are at that age."

"I thought I stopped hit puberty when it was 14?" Shu asked.

"No puberty hits anytime from 12 to 14, hell even earlier than that. Your stopped when you turned 16 but your animal instincts haven't surfaced yet." Rumi answered while pointing to herself. "I started when I was about 15"

"Same age for me."

"Then, what am I expecting?"

"Well, your body is average but your slightly skinner than a few others and you have some muscle so the only thing left is your instincts." Ryuko stated as her son titled his head.

"My instincts, like you mean senses and other stuff, right?" He thought.

"No, your heat."

"Wait, you mean like how you two had it?" Shu asked.

"Yep, however it might be different with you." Ryuko thought.

"What do you mean?" Shu asked wanting to know how his heat would be different from theirs, it just a normal heating session right?

As his mother was about to answer him, the doorbell went off stopping their conversation.

"I'll get it." Shu said as he got up and quickly left the kitchen to the front door. Opening it, he was met face to face with another human. They were a teenage girl of average height with large upturned dusky green eyes with long lower eyelashes with dark moss green hair that reach just below her shoulders with a short clump hanging in the center of her forehead. She was wearing a middle school uniform from Tokyo Middle.

This was Setsuna Tokage, Shu's childhood friend.

"Setsuna, what are you-?"

"Mei called me because you weren't picking up your phone." She said with a smirk on her face confusing him, as the boy took out his phone and looked at it only for his eyes widen as he saw there was about 19 missed calls and about 20 missed text messages, most of them from Mei.

"Oh, I should probably stopped leaving it on vibrate." He mused as Setsuna giggled showing off her sharp and pointed teeth.

"Someone's in trouble~" She teased as the boy groaned.

"Fine, let's go ahead and leave." He said as he went inside and grabbed his backpack before hugging both of his mothers. "Bye Ma, Bye Mom, I love you." He said as he felt arms wrap around his head and torso.

"We love you too, sweetie." Ryuko said with warmth as she nuzzled her head against her son. "Stay safe, okay."

"And if somebody gives you trouble…" Rumi started as Shu looked up to her with a grin.

"Kick them in the face then kick them in the nuts." He answered as she laughed.

"Yep." She agreed while Ryuko only sighed at that, knowing that there was no changing their minds on that approach. "Alright runt go on and get out of here with your girlfriend." Rumi ruffled his hair as the boy unwrapped his arms and turned around to leave before realizing what his mother said.

"She's not my girlfriend!"

"Yet." Both women teased as he quickly turned around and ran, closing the door behind him. As soon as he did, he was greeted by Setsuna who gave him a cheeky grin.

"Ready?"

"Yep, let's go."

Shu and Setsuna were both in class as they listened to their teacher talk about random stuff, whatever class subject they were in for a normal school day. The former was bored and decided to sleep while the latter was taking notes since she knew that her companion would not, though she couldn't really blame him since the subject they had was nothing more than Biology.

Plus, the lights being out and the windows kinda half open and closed with curtains while the room looking dark can make one sleepy.

Gazing over at the boy, Setsuna couldn't help but shake her head with grin as she always wondered how fast he was able to sleep in classes and yet he has no problem answering questions correctly. She knows that the only class he'll pay attention in the most history since he's always awake and actively paying attention in that class.

Soon the bell rung, signifying the end of class and the teacher nodded her head in agreement.

"Okay, class remember to complete your final assignments and turn in your career papers by tomorrow." She announced as she watched students leave the room with only Shu and Setsuna left. The older woman sighed as she knew about the former's sleeping habits, however she wanted to discuss something with him so she decided to make her way over.

Setsuna was poking her friend's cheek as he was in dreamland only to stop when she noticed that her petite teacher was coming towards them.

"Yes, Ms. Okita?"

"Setsuna, you are excused, if I may I would like to speak with Shu for a bit." Okita said as the green-haired girl nodded her head.

"Oh, okay." Setsuna then picked up a wooden ruler out of her bag before raising and smacked it across Shu's forehead who woke up from the impact.

"I'm awake! What did I miss!?" He shouted only to see his friend giggling and teacher giving him a blank stare. "Oh, shoot. I'm in trouble."

"You are." Okita confirmed as he muttered under his breath.

"I'll be outside~" Setsuna announced while sticking her tongue out and then left the room leaving the student and teacher alone. After she was gone, Shu immediately started talking.

"Okay, so what's the punishment this time?" He asked, waiting for his fate only to be confused when Okita shook her head.

"You're not in trouble."

"I'm not? Then what's the problem?" He wondered.

"This." She pulled out a two to three-page paper with his name on the front underneath the title Career Choice.

"My career choice?" He called out. "What about it? I've already completed the assignment."

"That's not the issue, it's your statement. About how you don't like heroes." Okita emphasized as he let out a groan.

"Oh, that. Well, it's not like it's a big deal, it's just one opinion compare to all the others." Shu said.

"That's what I'm talking about, Shu you go into great detail explaining about heroes and villains both past and present, and the lines in between as if you lived in both worlds, and then there's the last one paragraph talking about the government." Okita explained.

"What's there to say, I mean you have to admit that there's something shady about them and that they'll cover up any accidents or mishaps, heroes had." Shu stated while putting up air quotes when he said mishaps.

"Shu, the government is only doing their job to protect the people."

"I know but you have to admit over the years that they done some stupid stuff that's gotten villains out of nowhere."

"Heroes and villains always come around."

"Yes, but what are the reasons for it? Heroes nowadays do it for fame and money and forgotten what the real motive is to it and villains, pop-up because they either want to watch the world burn for fun or because they have no reason to and just do it, but what about the in between?" He ranted as Okita sighed.

"Shu, this is about your career not about your views."

"Having a career choice involves your view on the world, what kind of impact you to make in order for people to view you as. Whether it be a background character going through everyday life or something stupid that the media will make of you or your own actions alone." He explained as Okita let out another sigh, knowing that there was no changing this boy's mind.

"Shu, what do you want to be then?" She asked him. "I know most students nowadays want to be heroes but what do you want to be?"

"I honestly don't really care. While I do think that my views are curious, that's just it, my own views on the world and no one else's so it won't matter." He answered while taking his paper from her. "I rewrite my paper without the so-called explanation and just say about a career, will that be enough?" He asked.

"Yes, that will be enough." Okita said as he packed up and was about to leave until his teacher stopped him. "Shu."

"Hm?"

"You said that no one else would care about your views and opinions… well you are wrong on that…" She corrected him as he was about to roll his eyes only to be confuse when she gave him a small smile. "Because I for one care about it. And if you don't to wear the mask like everyone else… I do believe that someone like you can be one without it."

Shu was shock a bit as he silently rubbed the back of his head.

"Um... thanks, Ms Okita…" He trailed off as she waved her hand.

"Please call me Miya." She said as the boy just nodded his head.

"Okay, Miya." He acknowledged as he left the classroom and walked down the hall, meeting up with setsuna who was on her phone and linked her arms around his.

"So… what were you and teach talking about?"

"Nothing important." He said as she rolled her eyes.

"Oh, something happened. Come on, you can tell me." She said while pinching his cheeks as he swatted them away.

"Nothing happened, other than the whole career choice paper thingy. Asking me what I wanted to be." He answered.

"And what do you want to be?" Set asked him.

"I don't want to be a hero." He answered leaving her shock as he continued walking only for her to break out of her state and follow him right after where they were heading towards gym.

As they had gotten dressed, Shu and Setuna were out in the field sitting on the sidelines as they watched other students taking laps around the giant track which was long. The duo already finishing their normal five laps.

"What do you mean, you don't want to be a hero?" Setsuna asked him as she was wearing a white top, with blue bloomers and white sneakers.

"I mean I'm not really all that interested into being one." Shu said as he was in grey short sleeve shirt with black shorts and white sneakers.

"Why is that?"

"It's because of how things are. Heroes are mostly looking for money and fame and have nothing but giant egos and there are only a few out there that actually do the job because they want to protect people." He explained.

"Not all of heroes have egos."

"I know, I said most not all." He emphasized. "Like my mothers' for example, they're heroes not just because it's their job but because they like keeping the peace. Protecting people from those that wish to do harm to others."

"Didn't your mother, Aunt Rumi start out that way though?"

"No, my mom was true to herself. She became a hero on her own but she did not like joining people or more like she never got along with them due to her well… rough personality." Shu stated while trailing off near the end.

"Always speaking her mind and never learning to hold back her tongue, like a certain someone I know." Setsuna answered with a grin as Shu rolled his eyes at her. "I bet she was like this until Auntie Ryuko stopped her."

"Yeah that… she was like that for awhile until ma came into her life. She was the exact opposite of mom, humble, gentle and always kept her composure. She always paired up with her despite how harsh and brutal she was and yet ma never left her alone… they soon became acquainted with each other, soon becoming lovers and a few years later poof, I'm born."

"I'm still curious on how that's possible since two females can't reproduce with each other… maybe you know the answer to that? I mean you were born from them after all?" Setsuna asked as Shu gave her a blank stare.

"Denied."

"Eh, what!? Why not?"

"Let's just say… I'm still trying to get use to the answer." He said, not wanting to relieve the story of what he was told, and then quickly cleared his throat. "Anyway, why did you want to be a hero Set?" He changed the topic.

"Well, just like you said I want to be able to help people and keep the peace." She answered. "While I don't have a long detail reason like you, it's short and simple… just saving people and stopping bad guys." She finished.

'Short and simple.'

"Though, I am kind of disappointed now." She said with a frown.

"How come?" He asked.

"Because I won't have my best friend with me." She said with a pout as he sweat dropped at that.

'That's the reason?' He questioned. Though, he could see why she was a bit annoyed if the roles were reversed, he would probably feel the same… or just be okay with it because it was her choice.

"Don't worry too much, while i may not be a hero I'll still be around." He reassured as she continued pouting at him.

"It's not the same." She argued. However, she was caught off guard as she felt her cheeks being pushed upwards and saw Shu give her a smile.

"Come on, turn that frown upside down. Setsuna, while I may not be a hero, that doesn't mean I won't look out for you… you're my best friend and I won't let anything happen to you… you can count on that." He said.

The said girl was shocked at his words at how heartfelt he was being, her cheeks slowly becoming red before she smiled in unison as raise her hands to touch his.

"I will. You better be come find me when I call for you." Setsuna teased.

"You bet I will as your so-called knight in shining armor." He joked.

"Make sure you're wearing armor then and riding a horse." She joked back.

"And where I'm suppose to steal a horse from… actually I can probably ask Mei to make me one. That girl will just make about anything if you ask her." Shu said.

"Yeah, she's just about as crazy as she comes." Setsuna agreed before sitting up and stretching out her arms above her head. Shu watched her and suddenly his eyes were moving all over, he was at first checking her chest, watching the mounds that were pressed against her top , then down her back to her smooth tone legs and creamy skin…

"Mei!" He called out as he realized what was on his head and quickly stood up. "What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in science class?"

"Yes, but we're not doing any inventing today so I snuck out and decided to find you." Mei admitted before she started feeling up his arms. "I see that your arms are still the same as before but your chest says otherwise, ooh have you been keeping up with your workouts?" Mei asked while feeling him up as the boy quickly grabbed her hands and started pulling on her cheeks.

"Dammit MEI! I thought I told you, no touching unless it's for another invention!" Shu chastised while keeping her hands away from him while Setsuna was on the side laughing. "Don't worry, Droopy, science waits for no one. I'll have that baby up and running by tonight." Mei declared before pausing and then spoke again. "Actually tomorrow, since I'm grounded from this morning."

"Got it." He nodded in acceptance as he gazed at Mei, once again he was in a trance as he stared at her. Setsuna and Mei noticed his movements wondering what he was doing before their eyes widened when his eyes roll back and he slumped forward, close to hitting the ground. Luckily, Setsuna caught him and gently lowered him to her ground as she tried calling him but he couldn't hear anything only that everything around him was getting darker and quieter.

"Mm… what the…" Shu groaned as he opened his eyes and saw a familiar ceiling in front of him. He was in the nurse's office, he tried to move until he felt weight on his chest. Looking down, he saw Set's head laying on top of his torso sleeping soundly.

'She must've been here waiting for me to wake up. I don't see Mei around though…' He thought to himself thinking that the latter probably had to go home still grounded from her previous experiment. Shu stared at Setsuna and was about to pet her head when he remembered the reason why he was avoiding her… so he quickly retracted his hand back.

'Right, something's wrong with me. My body just collapsed on me so there's has something going on. I'm starting to feel like I can't control myself around Set or Mei, it's like their scents just instantly make me feel hot and their bodies… I've… I've never had problems with seeing them in a very… perverted way so… so why now of all times?' 'My quirks, one that allows me to be like Mom enhancing my leg strength and animal instincts while the my second from Ma allows me to grow scales and become somewhat of a dragon. Granted I can't transform like her but I can still use her abilities nonetheless. The thing about both is that because of their instincts my senses are extremely heightened and I'm able to hear, see, smell or taste things a lot differently than normal—' He stopped thinking when he realized something… the thing both quirks had in common… animal instincts.

"Shu?" Set called out only to stay quiet when he moved forward and stared at her.
