Cold. That's what her body felt like at the moment as she was slowly losing blood. Ravel was in the corner of her room, collapsed near her dresser with her back pressed against it and her hands dropped to her side. She was breathing slowly and her dress was stained with crimson red blood. Blinking she look down and tried to remember what had happened and her eyes slightly narrowed.
'What happened…..' She thought in an emotionless tone as if she no longer cared about herself. She saw the kitchen knife that she had snuck into her room right beside her drenched in crimson liquid and followed the trail of blood that from the knife heading towards her dress that also stained following it straight up to her neck. Reaching a hand up to her collar, she grabbed it and felt the warm blood-soaked fabric.
'Oh… that's right… I tried to kill myself… I'm dying…' She remembered the events that led her to coming in her.
Her bad day, her abuse from her brother, the banishment from her sister… and how everyone thought of her…. It all came crashing down on her and she couldn't take it anymore. She was a failure and no matter what she would do it would never amount to anything because she had no magic and couldn't use her clan's ability… she was useless…. She was nothing.
'I should be dead…. So why… is it taking… so long….' She wondered as she was sure that she jabbed the knife straight into her neck and would die instantly. And yet, she was still breathing.
Did she miscalculate? She was sure she hit right on target in order for her to die whether it be slow or fast… she didn't really care for either. As she was about to question why she was still breathing she heard faint noise come from her door that sounded like it was kicked open allowing whoever was there to find her in such a state.
She wasn't sure who it was whether it was her family or guest but she knew someone had found her, she just wished they found her when she was already dead. She felt her eyes become heavy and her ears still ringing as she only whisper two words that would haunt the person that had found her.
'I'm… sorry….'

{After all I made a promise….}
Ravel opened her eyes slowly as the voice that talked to her disappeared, she looked up and found herself in a familiar area. She stared at the ceiling in wonder before realization hit her and she immediately gasped while sitting up.
Looking down, she saw herself in a clear white t-shirt with her no bra and lifted up the covers to see that she was in her grey sweatpants. Grabbing the hem of her shirt, she slowly raised it above up to her breasts and her face morphed into surprise. Her wounds on her stomach, from where she was struck it was gone.
"My wound… it's gone…" She thought before realizing why it was gone. "Oh, Leafa must've found me and healed my wounds." She pondered while taking the covers off and slid her legs over the bed and onto the floor. Just as she was about to get up though, the door to the room opened and she looked up and saw a blonde girl with her head tied into a ponytail held by a flower-like hairband with long pointy ears and bright green eyes.
The said girl saw Ravel sitting up and immediately greeted her.
"You're awake." She said with relief as she ran to the girl and gave her a tight hug.
"Leafa." Ravel called out in recognition as the older blonde placed her hand on her shoulders.
"How are you feeling, do you need anything?" The latter asked rapidly as she checked over the younger girl who frowned at her behavior before gently grabbing the older girl's hands and stopped her.
"Leafa, I'm fine." Ravel reassured her. "Aside from feeling drowsy, I can assure you that my body and mind are fine." She stated though Leafa frowned when she mentioned her mind but held her tongue and gave her a smile.
"That's good. We were really worried about you."
"Where is everyone?" Ravel asked.
"They're in the living room, everyone wanted to watch over you but I told them that I would make sure you would be fine." Leafa answered her as the latter nodded.
"I see, Leafa thanks for healing me and bringing back home." Ravel thanked her as the older blonde gave her confused expression.
"Actually, it wasn't me that healed you." She admitted as Ravel tilted her head in confusion.
"It wasn't?"
"No, it was well…. It was a boy. A human boy around my age, he was the one that healed you." Leafa stated as Ravel eyes quickly widened in shock.
The boy that was with her… Itsuki Yurei… he was with her that night, he was risking his life to protect her and he almost got killed for it! Was he dead!? Is he alive!? As Ravel was about to go on a frantic, she felt Leafa place a hand on her shoulder.
"It's okay. If you worried about him, he's fine. At least I think he is." Leafa said as Ravel let out a sigh of relief and then groaned. Why was she caring about him… he clearly made his own decision to almost die and should've left her… he had no reason to get involve in their business but now the idiot made himself a target, adding on the list of problems she now had to deal with.
'Wait, she thinks he is?' Ravel thought back to Leafa's words and it sounded like that she was guessing on his condition. Did she not pick him up as well?
"What do you mean think?" Ravel asked while Leafa placed a finger to her cheek and looked up in deep thought.
"Well… when I got there I found you lying ground near him along with one another. I assume she was the attacker since she was all bloodied and her scythe was destroyed. Not to mention, her limbs were… well…" Leafa shivered at the thought. "… she looked like she was thrown into mouth of Cerberus as a chew toy and then was spat out." She finished.
"What!?" Ravel asked with wide eyes. How the hell was the possible, her eyes once more as she thought back to
"And before I said anything, he said that you hurt and needed help so I was about to heal both of you but when I looked up he was gone." Leafa answered while frowning. "I don't know where he went nor could I get a clear look at his face since he had his back turned to me. I was going have him tracked but you were my main priority so…"
"It's fine. It's better than being killed by murder." Ravel waved off as she walked past Leafa towards the living room where the others were waiting. As they walked, the former had a frown on her face as she thinking about her near death experience. Who was that girl and how did she know how to beat her, did she know that she was high class devil, or is she going around killing them by chance?
But more importantly, why did Itsuki hide his face? Did he not want to be seen by Leafa? It was kinda of too late to hide since he exposed himself.
At least that's what she wanted to think but then she remembered his last words when she blacked out and his expression, it was filled with malice and a sadistic smile on his face. She noticed how his voice had changed and the aura, it was cold and dark… very dark. Like something had taken over him and used his body.
"Oh yeah…" Leafa said earning Ravel's attention.
"Hm?"
"I almost forgot to do this." She said earning confusion from the younger girl.
"Do wha- ow!" Ravel asked before yelping in a pain as she given a painful flick to the forehead and groaned as she brought her hands up.
"That's for leaving Itsuki by himself." Leafa scolded while planting her hands on her hips gazing at Ravel in vexation.
"Wait, you know who he is!?" Ravel asked with a bit of anger in her tone, thinking that Leafa avoided telling her about him.
"We met at school around first break after YOU decided to leave him alone when YOU were supposed to show him around and not me but thankfully he's not mad at you nor is he annoyed with you." Leafa countered as Ravel let out a groan and knew that she was right.
"Of course, I apologize for accusing you on spot." Ravel said while the older blonde raised an eyebrow at her.
"I'm not the one you should be apologizing to." Leafa stated and then continued to walk to their destination with Ravel behind her.
"You can't be serious." Ravel's tone was full of exasperation.
"Ravel, he's actually a nice boy to hang around with. A bit shy around others but he's kind and willing to help." Leafa replied before narrowing her eyes at petite girl. "Plus, it's not like you can avoid him forever."
Ravel sighed knowing that Leafa was going to keep on lecturing her until she changed her mind or apologized. As they arrived in the living room, they were greeted with two females sitting across from each other on a table in random seats. One was sitting on a barrel while the other was floating in the air. The one on the barrel was a tall young woman with tan skin, a slim figure with large breasts and curvy hips. She had long mid-back length brown hair varying shades of color such as, bright brown, black and plain brown. Two shoulder length strands of hair framing her face and purple eyes that shined in the moonlight.
"Well, looks up and running about."
"Cana, Melascula. Drinking and Gambling again, I see." Ravel greeted with irritation as the said girls giggled.
"Can't help it, we're dying of boredom." Cana expressed while laying on her back as Melascula smirked at Cana before placing her cards on the table.
"I believe this is the part where I say you have been flushed." Melascula teased as Cana looked down only to smirk back at her companion.
"Not bad little snake, not bad at all. However…" Cana then placed her cards down showing 3 aces and a two 3s. "I have a full house to pay the expenses." She said before laughing in joy as Melascula paled before looking back at the brunette and gave her a pout.
"Mm, how is it that you always beat everyone in any card game we play?" Melascula asked, baffled that she was once again beaten by Cana.
"I'm guess I'm just to good." Cana said while sitting getting off the barrel and then lifted it up to drink the beer.
"I still wonder how in the world she's able to drink all that beer and still not get drunk." Ravel said.
"You're guess is as good as mine." Leafa added while holding a chibi Melascula who was attempting to attack Cana and hissed at her. Ravel then looked around and notice that there were some people missing.
"Where's the other two?"
"If you're looking for Asta and Noelle, they aren't here." Cana mentioned as she put down her barrel. "Those two needed to take care of something so they won't be back for awhile." She said and turned her attention to the blonde girl. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm feel fine, thank you." Ravel replied but that earned concerned gazes from everyone. "What?"
"Ravel, you almost died and you're shrugging it off like it's nothing." Leafa voiced as Ravel shrugged her shoulders.
"So… I've done it before…"
"That's not something you should be okay with." Melascula put in while crossing her arms. "Especially because of your already fragile mental state."
"My mental state is fine." Ravel argued with venom laced in her tone. Melascula was about to say something else but a quick look from Leafa who shook her head gently caused her to hold her tongue, groaning in irritation.
"Anyway…" Cana trailed off to break the tension. "we heard that somebody was saved by a boy around our age."
"Yes, he was there when Ravel was about to get killed and saved her, but we don't know who he is or what is his alignment." Leafa stated.
"Is someone looking for trouble? Or just another arrogant human?" MElascula asked while floating around them and laid on her stomach. "If he is, then I shall deal with him right away."
"Don't even think about it." Ravel mumbled as the snake girl rolled her eyes.
"I'm only joking as you humans would put it."
"Either way, we already have enough things to worry about. Rias and Sona are bad enough, not to mention the fallen angels residing in the church and strays, oh and let's not forget to mention the possibility of other assassins around Kuoh." Cana pointed as Leafa frowned in agreement.
Ravel had something else on her mind. Itsuki.
Not just because of Itsuki saving her but from what she saw or what she could make out before passing out was that Itsuki sounded like a whole different person when they were facing that scythe girl. One second he was a human boy trying his best to save her and then the next he sounds like a cold indifferent person that was ready to kill her.
'It doesn't make any sense. He was just a stupid naïve boy when I first met him and then suddenly he does a 180 and becomes something else? Something doesn't add up here.' Ravel thought trying to think of different ideas on who Itsuki was.
She didn't sense any magic from that boy nor any malice… maybe he had a concealment spell sealing his magic, but she quickly disregarded that idea since his actions during the first few minutes they met told her that he was just another boy in high school.
This irked her, she didn't know anything about this boy but then again that's her fault for ditching him and wanting to be alone. The only person who had an idea about him is Leafa since she took her place, which gave her an idea.
"Leafa." She called out earning her fellow blonde's attention. "Tomorrow…. I would like you to accompany me to apologize to Itsuki for my actions." She said.
"Why is that? Why can't you just find him yourself and do it?" Leafa asked.
"Because there is already tension between us and I doubt he would be comfortable around me if I just apologize all of a sudden to him, it would seem awkward." Ravel started to say while crossing her arms and placing a hand on her cheek. "Perhaps, if there was a familiar face around then it might make things less tense and he already seems to be acquainted with you."
"Hmm, well when you put it like that then I can't really argue with your logic. You are terrible at socializing." Leafa agreed while a tic mark appeared on Ravel's forehead. "Alright, I'll see what I can do."
"Thank you. Now if you excuse, I have some matters to attend to." Ravel then gave them a bow before turning around and heading back to her room. As Cana and Melascula went back to their card game and Leafa onto making dinner, Ravel was left alone with her thoughts.
She knows now that after what happened the previous night, Itsuki can no longer be on his own or hide himself. He is going to be scouted by the supernatural world which includes the fallen angels, pure angels, devils, demons and of course Rias. She needs to find him first and much to her dismay, she needs to keep him out of prying eyes or at the very least protect him from it.
'Itsuki Yurei. In a matter of hours, not only have you given more problems to deal with but you've have also saved me for no reason and got yourself caught into something that you should stayed out of…'
Taking a deep breath, Ravel calmed down and looked out the window into the sky as the sun was now rising, the rays shining through the glass into the room.
'Who are you?'
"HOLY COW WHAT HAPPENED!?" The said boy shouted as he immediately shot up from the bed in a state of alert before suddenly grabbing his head.
"Ow." He groaned as a headache came through. "That's what I get for trying to get up so quickly. Next time, I'll go at a slower pa—" Itsuki paused when he realized that he was in his bed.
"Wait a minute, what happened? Last night I was walking home and on the way I had… had… what did I do…" He asked himself as he tried to remember the events from before. "Weird I can't remember anything."
He wondered why he couldn't remember as he was trying his hardest making a facial expression like he was trying to use laser vision only grunt in pain when his head started aching.
"Ow. Ow, ow, ow, that was stupid idea." He insulted himself while holding his head and then turned to the clock and saw that it was 6:30. "Looks like I woke up a bit too early today, at least I can eat breakfast on time since I have a bad habit of getting up late." Itsuki commented as he stood up and went into his bathroom.
Yawning, he went up to the sink and gathered his toothbrush and toothpaste, basically all the essentials to get ready for school, then looked up in the mirror at his appearance.
"Man, I look tired." He said as he went to pick up his toothbrush and then paused it midair as he just realized that something was wrong. Looking back up, he gazed into his reflection and immediately saw noticed the difference right there, his eyes or his right eye to be clear was not his original sky blue eye it was now silver.
"What the hell!? What happened to my eye!?" He asked as he observe his right eye not finding anything off about it other than the color. "No contacts or anything…" He mumbled while examining himself and then he decided to do something stupid by taking his index finger and poke himself in the eye.
"AH!" He yelled while clutching his right eye and then looked back up while wiping away the tears. Slowly opening his eye he saw that the color was still silver, no trick or contacts, it was real.
'Okay, so my eye is real. How the hell did this happen and why can't I remember anything that happened after school!?' He asked himself while getting frustrated that he couldn't remember what had happened to him. It was getting ridiculous, he has short-memory loss but not that short…. The only time this happened to him was back at his old school and he couldn't even remember what happened then… only that it was bad to the point where he had to switch.
Itsuki was too busy stuck in memory lane that he didn't notice that someone was standing next to him.
"Don't think too hard now, you do that and you might end up insane." A soft angelic voice spoke bringing him out of his thoughts, alarmed he turned around and backed up only to him to hit his head against the mirror and groaned in pain.
"Ow. Why am I hurting myself so much today!?" He groaned while holding his head and then felt soft hands on his own soothing his head.
"Because you're somewhat accident prone sweetie, that's why."
Itsuki paused as he remembered that there was someone in his apartment and not just any someone, it was a familiar face. Looking up, he saw a mature woman with amber eyes and long blonde hair wearing dark-green slacks with a light-green sweater over a light pink blouse. Over her left breast was a yellow cross on a gold-green ribbon.
"Miss Takano?" He called out recognizing the woman. "What are you doing here, and how did you get in my apartment?" Itsuki asked while she helped him up.
"What do you mean, you invited me over?" Takano asked.
"I… I did?" Itsuki said in an unsure tone.
"Yes, do you not remember?" She asked, worried that he might have had a concussion.
Itsuki was even more confused on why his old nurse was even here, then again maybe it would help if he could remember what happened.
"Um…. This may sound stupid but… could you tell me what I did, the night before?" He asked in a nervous tone. "I can't seem to remember anything after school." He was met with a soft smile as Takano gently nodded her head.
"Of course."
After leaving his room, the two were now sitting in the living room next to each other on a couch. Takano had stirred up some tea while Itsuki kept trying to remember what he did but only got blanks in return as if he couldn't find out what was wrong.
"Sorry for making you do this, Takano-san."
"Nonsense, I don't mind at all. Itsuki, and I thought I told you that don't have to be so formal around me, you can call me Miyo." Takano stated as the boy gave a nervous laugh.
"Right, sorry about miss Tak- I mean Miyo." He corrected himself as the latter smiled while drinking her tea. He then took a sip of his own cup and then immediately groaned when the taste hit his tongue but downed it anyway and let out a disgust sound.
"I'll never get use to tea."
"Traditional tea, since it's the only thing that you'll drink." Miyo stated.
"Okay, so what happened to me?" Itsuki asked and Miyo gave him a small look as she remembered what happened.
Miyo was walking home at night after she had gotten what she needed to make dinner. Today has been one of those days for her, where she was just too tired. Not from being a nurse, she stopped doing that when the school she used to go to was destroyed, no she was talking about the torture department in the Ground Force.
After the school got destroyed, Miyo had gone and join the Ground Force for two things, to expand her research and get stronger. She was working on a theory from her grandfather involving something that would make a person go crazy and insane depending on how many stages they progressed.
'Today, was a long day.' Miyo thought as she continued walking down the street while looking at the night sky above her. 'Hopefully tomorrow is a bit more exciting, torturing people can be boring every once in a while.
As she was busy reminiscing, she didn't notice that someone was walking in front of her. Getting bumped, she almost dropped her groceries quickly catching them before glaring at the person responsible for bumping into her.
"Excuse me, but you could please apologize for bumping into-" She was about to lecture them but paused when she looked at their appearance. In front of her was a teenage boy in a Kuoh Academy uniform but there were covered in blood, but it the face that she recognized.
"Itsuki!?" Miyo called out as the boy looked up at her, his eyes hollow and body swerving back and forth as if he was about to fall, which he did until Miyo dropped her groceries and caught him pressing his head towards her shoulder. "What happened to you?" She asked him as she checked over his body for any wounds he may have, but what confused when she found none.
Nothing on his back, where there was a rip going down from his shoulder to his hip, and then another hole right next to it like he got stabbed but there was nothing there only showing his skin.
Miyo wanted to ask more questions but then she heard labored breathing, looking down she saw that Itsuki had fallen asleep on her shoulder and let out a small sigh. She'll have to ask him these questions later, right now she needed to take him home.
Gently placing him on her shoulder, Miyo left the groceries and carried Itsuki to his apartment. She didn't need any directions on how to get there, since she knew the way. She was the one that helped him settle in Kuoh after all.
"And after that, I took you here." Miyo answered as Itsuki gazed at her in shock. "You were covered in blood but it wasn't yours."
Itsuki then looked at his hands in shock. Had… had he hurt somebody? Did he actually went out and intentionally hurt someone for his own amusement? That's… that's insane. What reason would he have too—
Settle down idiot, you didn't kill anyone.
Itsuki stopped thinking as his eyes sprung up in confusion at the new voice, looking around the room to see if there was anyone there but it was just him and Miyo.
Calm… down…. I'm a voice….. in your head.
"You what?"
For now….. just stay silent….. talk…. Later…..
Itsuki didn't know why but he complied to the voice he was hearing in his head, they didn't sound like a threat… at least for now.
"Anyway…" Miyo called out, bringing the boy back to reality. "…is there anything that you remember from last night?" She asked was given a frown in return.
"No." Itsuki sighed while leaning his head back into the couch. "No matter how hard I try, I can't seem to remember anything at all. Just going to school, spending the day, meeting a girl that ignored me, then met another girl that was kind enough to show me around school and then leaving school afterwards… and after that my memory goes blank." He answered with frustration laced in his voice as he wanted answers on what had happened.
"Maybe I was sleepwalking or something?" Itsuki thought.
"That may be a possible, however you always got in trouble for sleeping in class."
"I'm a little bit better now." He argued earning a giggle from the blonde while rolling his eyes.
"What about PTSD?" Miyo asked, her voice no longer playful.
"Uh what?"
"Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder." The blonde woman clarified as he gave her small glare.
"I know what it is, I'm wondering why you would think I have that." He answered as Miyo frowned.
"Itsuki, do you really not have nightmares about what happened back then, the reason why you transferred in the first place?" Miyo asked softly as the boy flinched before turning his head and finding his cup more interesting.
The reason he transferred, the day it all happened, why he was here in Kuoh, he knows why and he knows the reason for it, a person, someone he once trusted and once could call a friend only for them to shoot him in the back and leave him.
Suddenly flashes began to appear in his head.
He was back in school, walking through the yard alongside a faceless girl who was holding a school bag below her waist.
Sitting near tree next to her….
Her teasing him, smiling at him, waving at him before going off into another direction and then

"ITSUKI!"
The said boy suddenly gasped in shock as he was brought out of his mind and back into reality, heavily breathing with sweat dripping down his head. Slowly calming down, he saw Miyo was in front of him and gazing at him with worry mixed with hints of relief and her hands were framing his face, he was also feeling something soft stroking his cheeks, probably her thumbs.
Taking a breather, Itsuki sighed in contempt before reaching up and placed his hand over her own.
"I… I'm fine…. I'm fine." He breathed slowly as Miyo frowned.
"Sweetie, you just had a panic attack. You're not fine at all."
"Miyo, I'm okay, it was just a small illusion but nothing I can't handle, heh heh." Itsuki attempted to make to joke but it didn't work.
"This isn't something to joke about, did you ever think about seeing a therapist?" She asked.
"Nope, don't need one then. Don't need one now." He instantly denied. As if he would share something so personal and dark with a random doctor. While he gets that therapist wants to help people move on from trauma, it's not because they care, it's because it's their job and that's all it is to them. A job to make people feel safe under false security and sweet words that can easily make them believe that they are okay.
As long as it put a roof over their heads, they don't care.
'They didn't care before so why care now?' Itsuki questioned himself.
"Itsuki…"
"I'm fine. Please, I'm okay. Look I.. I have to get ready for school. Thanks for tea and everything and I'm sorry you have to stay the night for it." He said with a smile on his face that the blonde knew that he was faking it to move past from the conversation.
Frowning, she wanted to tell him that he wasn't okay and that he needed to rest for the day, but she knew that wouldn't work due to how stubborn he was and not wanting to burden people with his own set of problems.
"Fine, we don't have to talk about now but don't think that this is something you can just avoid Itsuki, someday you're going to have to talk about it." She said sternly as the boy's smile strained even further signaling that he really to get changed. Letting him go, she motioned him to go and change, after a few minutes the boy was dressed in his uniform and had his backpack on. Unlike other students that would use a one handle bag, he preferred the backpack.
"Okay, I'll see you around Miyo. Again, sorry for making you stay. I promise to pay for your groceries when I come back." He offered as the blonde waved it off.
"You don't have to, I can always go and get another batch." She said before giving him a bento she had made for him the previous night. "Now off you go." She gently shooed as he smiled at her waving and then opened the door and ran out forgetting to close it.
Miyo watched him from the balcony as he had ran down the steps and onto the street that headed the direction towards the school. After he was out of sight, a frown marred her beautiful face as she let out a small sigh.
'Itsuki, you can't hold in all that trauma. Those nightmares don't simply go away and the attacks can get worse the longer you do. The more you keep it buried, the worse the attack is and there's no telling how much damage it'll do.'
Miyo then closed the door behind her and walked around the apartment heading towards a specific location. She headed to the hall closet that was right next to the laundry with the bathroom across from it.
She grabbed the handle and opened the door revealing a closet that was filled with boxes holding various items and a body. Not just any body, it was the body of the girl that had attacked Itsuki. Miyo had found her half dead around the corner from where he had appeared and knew that she needed answers.
She checked the blood off him and had saw that it was her DNA, she thought he was running from her since she had a scythe with blood-red stains on the blade. Despite it being broken into pieces she was able to put two and two together figuring out that this was the weapon that had slashed him across the back.
She gave the girl a rough kick to the stomach waking her up instantly as she frantically looked around trying to remember where she was, her voice was muffled by tape over her mouth and couldn't move as her arms and legs were bound by the rope.
Miyo leaned down and her expression was no longer one filled with kindness and warmth, no it was now dark and her facial expressions changed into one of a sadist.
"Now that he's gone, we can talk. While I would love to have play 21 questions and ask you how many types of apples are there, why don't go ahead and jump straight into the conclusion." She jested before leaning down, placing her hands on her knees as the maiden looked up at her.
"Who are you and why were you after my precious student!?" Miyo asked as her eyes were no longer amber but instead now glowed a bright scarlet red.
Itsuki was walking to class taking a different route then the normal one, since he wanted to know where to go in case he needed to be alone or wanted to explore. More of the former since he really needed to be alone, he was still trying to remember what had happened the night before and yet he can't. Not to mention, Miyo mentioning the incident from his previous school caused him to go still and start having an anxiety attack which he hated… he didn't need a reminder of what had happened that day.
Still, he can't remember who he was protecting or who it was that had shot him… or how he had freakin' survived. Miyo had told him that he was hit in the chest and right at his heart but he was still breathing… how in the hell is that possible because a bullet to the heart is an instant kill and yet… he was still breathing.
'Maybe this has something to do with what happened with my memories the night before. And the same reason why my eye is silver.' He thought to himself trying to think of other possibilities. He was so deep in thought that he didn't realize that he had suddenly tripped and was about to fall face first into the dirt.
Only to stop when he felt something soft break his fall instead.
'Uh what..?' He thought as he was trying to figure out why his face hadn't kissed the ground and was filled with the essence of dirt instead; he was met with something soft and the smell of perfume… strawberries… perhaps?
"Oh, is everything okay down there sweetie?" A feminine voice spoke reaching his as he realized that he was on a person. He slowly turned his head up and his mismatched eyes were met with deep blue-green eyes, long crimson hair flowing their back.
Itsuki realized that this he had ran into a girl who was a year older than him and that he had his face planted into her bosom.
Her large and soft bosom that felt bouncing and smelled like… like…
Itsuki's brain stopped working as he finally realized he had done something intimate and quickly back off with a gasp.
"OH CRAP! I'm SO sorry, I swear I didn't mean to do that I didn't see where I was going, I apologize!" Itsuki frantically apologized while bowing his head repeatedly before actually hitting himself onto the ground.
"Ow." He groaned while rubbing his forehead mumbling to himself that he really needs to stop doing that, not noticing that the girl had leaned down to help him.
"Are you okay?"
"It's fine, just a little bruise nothing else." He said slowly getting up, wincing a bit from the pain.
"Still, you rammed your head into the ground." The redhead said with concerned as she walked up to him. "Here."
Itsuki was confused on what she was doing before his body froze in shock at what she did next, she had leaned gently grabbed his chin and pressed her lips to the spot of where his head was injured.
"There, that should make it better right?" She said, winking at the boy who was still in shock at what had happened and his face was now bright red at her action.
"I.. you didn't… um… ah… um…" Itsuki couldn't speak properly, he rarely received affection since he only had one friend and Miyo would give him a warm smile from time to time but nothing really physical, so this was unexpected.
"Th-thank you for that and again I'm sorry for… you know…" Itsuki apologized as the girl across him just smiled.
"It's okay, you're not like the other boys that I've seen around the school. I could tell from yesterday when I saw you walking around the school with Suguha." She stated.
"You know Suguha?" Itsuki asked, curious on how she knows the girl he met the day before.
"Only through the Kendo club since she's their main champion, we've bumped into each other a few times but never really talked." She explained as he nodded his head.
"Ah. Okay."
"Sorry, if this seems out of the blue and weird but why the long face?" She asked as confusion came across his features. "You were frowning like something bad had happened."
"Oh, right." He remembered before quickly giving her smile and waved it off. "It's nothing really, just some stuff that I had forgot to take care of, you know missing books and doing bad on homework." He answered as she gave him an unamused expression.
"Yeah, I wouldn't believe me either. That was a stupid lie." Itsuki admitted, letting out a small sigh and continued. "let's just say that something happened to me the previous night and I can't remember what it is and no matter how many times I try, my memory just comes up blank."
"Is it something bad?" She asked.
"I guess, you could say that. It's not relating to family stuff or school related issues, it was just… something.. that's all." Itsuki finished explaining, though the girl across from could see that there was more than that but didn't say anything.
"Okay, but if it bothers you that much at least tell someone about it."
"I don't want to be a bother to anyone for that." He said while turning his head away.
"It's not a bother if someone is having trouble or feeling upset, if you need to talk about it then you should tell a teacher or maybe someone you know personally." She suggested as Itsuki frowned again, thinking back to Miyo and how she said the same thing. Itsuki knew that Miyo was a patient woman but when pushed she can be aggressive and downright terrifying if someone pushed her too far and yet no matter how long he's stayed quiet around her, she never got angry with him.
'Maybe, I should talk to her…' He thought back to the conversation they had this morning and how Miyo looked at him with so much worry and concern as she wanted to help him.
"Y-you're right. I should tell my guardian; she's always looking out for me and worries when I'm like this… I owe her that much" He said before his expression changed into a frown…but, what if… what if I'm wrong or what if it's just a stupid topic to worry about or something that-" He started thinking about the negatives but was stopped when the older girl placed a hand on his shoulder.
"If it was stupid, she wouldn't have asked you. I wouldn't have ask… if your guardian really didn't care for you then she would've have ask you now would she?"
"Right." Itsuki nodded in agreement. "Thanks for the advice and again sorry for you know…"
"Oh no, the pleasure is all mine. And if you want to make it up to me then how about… you and me get to know each other."
"Um… like friends…" Itsuki slowly asked, unsure on how to approach this since he was still a bit foreign on how to interact with people on his own.
"Well not right away, but how about we start slow and see where it goes from there?" She offered as he looked up in the sky thinking about it and then nodded in agreement.
"Okay, that sounds like a good idea."
"Wonderful, do you have a phone on you?" She asked.
"Um, yeah why?" He asked only to see her holding out her hand to him, gesturing for him to give it to her. He complied and handed it to her. She took it and pressed her finger on the screen a few times before handing it back to him. He gazed at his screen and saw a phone number.
"Go and press the call button." She asked and he did waiting for the phone to pick up, suddenly he heard a chime and saw that she was holding her own phone out. "And now you have my number."
"Oh, wow I uh…" He was at a lost for words not expecting her to get her number like that.
'I wasn't expecting that at all.' He mentally thought before shaking his head and gave her a smile. Both teens then heard a loud rumbling echo through the air, Itsuki looked down at and realized that it was him.
"Sorry, guess I'm kind of hungry." He apologized with a sheepish smile.
"Want to grab some breakfast?" The redhead offered only for him to shake his head.
"I would but I have to get class right away. I've promised my teacher Ms Glynda that I would return the books I borrowed from her after I got mine own set. I forgot that I still had the school copies when I left this morning."
"That's okay. We can do it another time." She said.
"Oh, by the way… I'm Itsuki, Itsuki Yurei 2nd year transfer student." He introduced as the redhead smiled in return.
"Rias Gremory, 3rd year student and your senpai." The redhead now known as Rias introduced herself.
'Senpai, what does that mean?' He wondered but waved it off as he had to go somewhere.
"Nice to meet you Rias, I hope we get to hang out soon." He said giving her a smile unaware that he was ignoring the small voice that was trying to tell him something.
"I look forward to it, Itsuki." She replied smiling back at him. Itsuki then gave her a bow before running off to class heading to his destination.
As Rias watched him leave, her smile was still there but it was now filled lust and want. When she had kissed him, she had felt an incredible amount of power within him. It felt like an infinite fill of energy that was being added to her own, like her power was increasing. She wanted him to join her.
But that wasn't the only reason why. She's watched his interactions with Ravel and see how the blonde girl doesn't care for him or anybody in that matter since she likes to be non-social. While she doesn't hold any hate towards Ravel, she still dislikes her due to their first interaction that ended horribly. Ravel had dislike her because of how even though she was the youngest she was still treated like a person while the former was treated like an outsider for not having the family power.
While Rias didn't get her powers until she was 8, she was still treated kindly by those around her and Ravel wasn't. Rias had the intention of wanting to be friends with Ravel, just because she had bad history with her brother doesn't mean that she should with everyone else but it was for naught when Ravel had stated that she wanted nothing to do with her and said to her that she was a spoiled princess that got everything she wanted on a silver platter, Ravel was jealous of her and said that she didn't want to do anything with her.
Inside that deeply hurt her because she was wrong. Like Ravel, Rias had to work hard to be able to harness her powers since she couldn't control them in the beginning, and over the years she was able to thanks to her parents and brother. And yes while she had everything handed to her, that didn't mean that she wanted to… she wanted to be able to prove to herself and her family that she could be who she could be just as strong as her brother and represent the house of Gremory when the time comes. And she has when she had beaten Riser to get out of her marriage contract because she and her peerage had trained their powers over the years and learned to be strong enough to deal with all types of strays and demons.
Rias was brought out of daydream when she felt her presence nearby. Looking up, she saw Ravel standing by the entrance gazing at her with a glare. This caused the redhead to raise an eyebrow in confusion until her eyes widened in realization and she soon smiled back at the blonde who had looked away and disappeared.
Rias now had an experiment in mind. She wanted to test the waters to see how far she could push Ravel, because she now knows who she was exactly watching.
'Itsuki is in your sight as well isn't he, but who will take him first is the question?' Rias thought while giggling to herself. She had thought about watching Itsuki and wait for him to be attacked by an unknown assailant and then save him to have his trust…..
How stupid would that be?
Instead of doing that, she would earn his trust in the long run. Other than the fact that she wants to see Ravel's reactions, she is interested in being Itsuki's friend. The first boy that did not stare at her with lust filled eyes and was only focused on her body. He was genuinely interested in wanting to know more about her and he seemed like a nice boy, not to mention his reactions were kind of funny to watch. She found him quite adorable. If things go right, maybe someday they could be more in the future and eventually she may have found a husband, only time will tell.
"For now, let's play the long game." She whispered to herself as she left the school yard and headed back to her club as she had a meeting to prep for.
