Story Start!
He didn't know what he wanted to do.
'Now that I have people important to me... what is next... seriously... I don't feel the desire to conquer Japan anymore, and my motivation for being the biggest, baddest, boss out there is gone... so what do I do now?' Naruto stared up at the sky from a tree branch. Class was about to be over, and he just felt like skipping class for the day. Apparently a bunch of students were getting something ready in the main school building, a bunch of club stalls were being set up.
Since this was still a high school, Naruto would guess that today was the day that clubs showed off what they did to get more members. If this had been during the days before he had met Moka, maybe he would have been excited to go and challenge every club. To prove himself as the best of the best, and show off his years of hard work and suffering.
To validate his years of suffering and loneliness.
To show why his suffering made him the best, and why he was worthy of respect. Now though, he didn't crave respect from others. He didn't feel the need to show off how strong his loneliness had made him, or how much hard work had him better than those around him. He just lacked any motivation to do anything, and while he had already recognized this fact before, it was hitting him pretty hard again.
What did he even do now?
He didn't have a desire to get stronger or anything, so at this point his daily training was just out of pure habit and to keep his strength up. Yes, he was at a school for monsters, but he didn't feel like anything was weird. He had known and been friends was a monster for nearly a year now, and what was more was that he felt like he was in less danger at this school than his usual life in the human world.
His life was calm.
It was throwing him off.
"This is where you went off to, you need to stop skipping class."
"Hmmmm?" Naruto questioned when he saw his small friend group approaching him. Moka leading the pack, with Yukari and Tsukune behind her, and Kurumu trailing the pack. Their friend group had only formed 5 days ago, but they always ate lunch together, and overall things were going pretty decently with them.
Tsukune seemed more relaxed now that he had a cover story.
"We're going club shopping, and we can't start without our resident stud!" Kurumu called out to him with a flirty grin, which got her a short sour look from Moka, before the vampire smiled when Naruto rolled off the tree branch. He landed on all 4s like an animal, before he stood up straight and just rolled his shoulders.
Naruto didn't say anything as he just motioned for them to walk.
-Hours Later-
'Nothing... I'm... actually bored... nothing is calling out to me at all.'
It was really hitting him.
This was a prime time for him to start fights and kick ass, but he felt no desire or need to start any fights. He had Yukari pulling him by the arm, she had taken a liking to him since she was a bit of a troublemaker. Naruto had been silent for the most part, as he just mentally checked out on the process of deciding a club. Apparently it was actually required by school that all students at least make an active attempt to find a club, to better fit in with humans.
'I can't believe it...'
"Ah, Naruto-sama, just the man I was looking for."
"Ah... Kuyo-kun, right?" Naruto recognized the guy who had introduced himself on his first day. The older guy smiled at Naruto for remembering his name, and the way that Naruto addressed him pretty casually.
For everyone watching, the clubs seemed to stiffen when Naruto was downright disrespectful to Kuyo.
It just felt right to call him that though.
"I was just wonderful, would you be interested in joining the Discipline Committee? Of course, it would be purely for show... you won't have any responsibilities." Kuyo made an attractive offer, but as much as his mere presense through everyone else in the friend group off, Naruto was the only one who was somewhat unaffected by it.
Naruto shook his head.
"Actually, I'm just going to join whatever club these guys join, but thanks for the offer. I'm a bit too much of a free spirit to do discipline." Naruto wasn't a person who followed rules, so there would be no way he would do something so hypocritical as enforce rules on others he had no intention of following himself.
Kuyo laughed.
"Of course, you are a free spirit, as somebody of your stature should be... well... I wish you luck then." Kuyo walked off with that.
-Yukari's Choice-
Still nothing.
"Hey, why not join the Science Club... might be fun." Yukari looked at all the magic potions that were being brewed by the club and shown off, and she found herself at least interested in the work itself.
Kurumu and Moka both raised their arms up, and showed X shapes to show that they were against the idea, while Tsukune made a circle above his head with his arms to show that he was for the idea. Naruto just shrugged his shoulders, and Yukari sighed in a dejected way since she didn't count herself for the vote. They had a rule that they needed at least 3 votes, not counting the person who made the suggestion, for them to agree on a club.
"Damn." Yukari cursed under her breath.
-Kurumu's Choice-
"Yahoo hoo... here is one that is right up my alley... Cooking Club... tasty treats and sweets." Kurumu showed off the cooking club.
Moka raised her arms up and made a circle, while Tsukune and Yukari both made X shapes with their arms. Moka looked towards Naruto, and though the vote already showed that they would reject the cooking club, she saw the way he just didn't seem to care while shrugging his shoulders. It was the second time that he shrugged his shoulders like he did, and it was on the worrying side.
Naruto was the most energetic guy she knew, and he seemed somewhat dejected.
"Damn." Kurumu stated with click of her tongue.
There went her plans.
-Tsukune's Choice-
"What about the Swimming Club, I've always been a pretty good swimmer... oh..." Tsukune looked and saw the vote this time was damn near uniform.
Kurumu, Moka, and Yukari all raised their arms up to show a complete rejection of his club idea, with Moka jumping up and down to show just how much she SUPER rejected the idea of the swim club. Tsukune for his part looked towards Naruto, who just had his fingers raised to make a tiny X showing that while he didn't care, he still voted no.
"... But... why?" Tsukune had no clue.
"Uh, that is an all girl club... I have enough competition." Kurumu deadpanned.
"I have super flat boobs, and being around so many bouncing breasts is both great eye candy for me... and it depresses me." Yukari admitted to her own status as a flatty and a bisexual at the same time.
"Vampires and water do not mix."
"Those girls smell like bitch." Naruto had the same reason as Moka, since he knew about her water weakness, but he didn't want to repeat the same reason as Moka. Tsukune collapsed to his knees in depression.
"Damn."
-Moka's Choice-
"Uh... how about this club... I'm sure it wouldn't be a disaster... oh..." Moka stood next to the stall for the kyudo club.
She got nothing but rejection.
"My boobs are way too big for that chest plate." Kurumu had an anatomy reason for not wanting to join the club at all, while Tsukune didn't have a real reason. In the end, everyone rejected it, and Moka just sighed and nodded.
She wasn't that enthusiastic for it either.
-Hours Later-
"... How about this one?" Naruto gestured to the one club that was barely trying to get any attention at all.
He just wanted this done with.
It was a small, lonely club stall with a single member who was asleep. The man running the stall had newspapers in front of him and some club registration forms, and that was it. Naruto didn't particularly care, since it seemed like with a club member this lazy, he wouldn't have to do all that much.
He could be a ghost member.
"... The Newspaper club..."
"... Seems fine to me." Tsukune made a circle with his arms, showing that he supported it. Honestly, since it was a non-physical club and a non-creepy club, he felt like he could actually do something there.
Moka thought about it, before she made a circle with her arms.
"I'm good with this one too." Moka wanted to select the club that Naruto picked out, since so far he hadn't been for any club at all. She was going to ask him what was up with him the first chance that she got, but now wasn't the time.
Maybe he wasn't feeling well?
Kurumu made an X.
"Sounds lame, right Yukari... I mean, I bet you would be super bored with this club too. Heh... you're so flat that they might mistake your chest for a printing press..." Kurumu didn't realize her taunt had the opposite effect.
Yukari raised her arms and made a circle.
"I'm down for making a newspaper." Yukari glared at Kurumu, who just realized that they had achieved the 3 votes needed for them to pick a club. She collapsed to her knees dramatically when she realized she would not get her second chance to pitch the cooking club.
They all grabbed the registration forms from the stall, and walked off.
Once they left, the one student at the stall woke up.
"Uh... I could have sworn somebody... holy crap... did somebody taken registration forms?"
He didn't expect anyone to even be interested in his club!
