"So... are you really a human?"

"Yeah, why would you question it?" Naruto asked Tsukune as his hair was kept out of his face. He was hanging out with Tsukune while the boy was studying up on Warlock history and culture. That was super boring though, so Naruto was passing the time by working out. He was currently doing push ups upside down, with his face facing the floor and his feet pointed at the ceiling.

He was using one finger.

Tsukune looked at Naruto doing single finger push ups, upside down, and then stared him in the eyes as if that alone should be enough to question his status as a human. He didn't know ANY people that could just do that like he was doing, or a human that could fight a monster the way that Naruto did.

"You aren't afraid of monsters." Tsukune pointed out.

"Monsters, humans, they are the same thing to me. Let me tell you, once you've had human assassins after you, fought with yakuza, and been shot a few times, monsters aren't the scariest thing." Naruto just lightly explained. After the harsh life he had lived, he just didn't have anymore reason to feel fear towards monsters. "If anything, humans are scarier than monsters are... with a monster, they have obviously listed weaknesses you can take advantage of. Give me a spray bottle and I could take down Moka, and she vamps it up." Naruto knew all of the vampire weaknesses thanks to Moka.

She was kind of the reason he just didn't fear monsters.

"Yeah, but what if some don't have them?"

"A kick to the nuts is a pretty effective weakness. I'm pretty sure even you could do some damage with a nut shot. Also, it's all about confidence and reputation. I've got a reputation, and I'm pretty confident." Naruto did get into a fight on his first day of school, and everyone thinks he is some kind of S-class monster in the same league as a vampire. Not a lot of sane monsters are going to get into a fight with him.

Tsukune was afraid, and he had no confidence in himself.

So Naruto picked out a warlock lie for him, because that was a weak monster that would explain the lack of confidence.

"Are you sure you're a human?" Tsukune asked again, because he just was not convinced. Naruto had stopped doing push ups, and he switched to walking around the room on his thumb and pinky instead.

"Yep, as human as they come."

"You really aren't though."

"Well, human or not aside. I'm still on your side, so lets make sure nobody finds out your human. Especially Moka, she hates humans. Me and her get along because we're both outcasts, and we went to middle school together." Naruto knew that if he was just some random human, Moka would distrust him and dislike him. Thankfully he wasn't random. "Also... Moka would get mad at me for keeping this from her." Naruto scratched his cheek.

"Why though?"

"Oh, Moka was bullied in school for claiming to be a vampire. We kind of bonded over how we're both freaks. Why don't you try and bond with some of the other classmates... it might make you feel more comfortable around monsters."

"Yeah, but what if they find out I'm human?" Tsukune whispered to Naruto.

What if somebody was listening outside the door?

"Well, lets see. Moka knows I'm human, Kitty Teacher knows I'm human, the Chairman knows I'm human, I told a Yuki-onna girl I'm human too... and lets see... does anyone else know I'm human?" Naruto didn't really care to keep his status that much of a secret.

Tsukune grabbed his shoulders.

"You've been telling people you're human, are you safe... are you okay?" Tsukune showed genuine, and surprising, concern for Naruto. There was fear in his eyes, and it kind of took Naruto by surprise to see how concerned Tsukune was.

Naruto smiled.

"You're a good guy Tsuki." Naruto flicked Tsukune in the chin and got him to back up. "Well Tsuki, don't be so worried. I only told people who I thought I could trust. Mizore is a good girl too, so I know she isn't going to tell anyone." Naruto grinned.

"Tsuki..." Tsukune didn't know how to feel about the nickname. "... Mizore... who is Mizore?" Tsukune asked.

Naruto shrugged.

"She doesn't show up for class yet, but I figure you'll meet her sooner or later. She's kind of a weirdo friend of mine, but I like her well enough. I kind of like gloomy weirdos." Naruto had always been somewhat into people who stayed to the shadows and tried not to stand out too much.

There was a knock at the door.

"Come on it, it's just us."

"Hey Tsukune-kun, I was wondering if you knew where Naruto wa..." Moka came into the room, and she blinked when she saw Naruto was in Tsukune's room with him. "Ah, Naruto, you weren't in your room, so I was just worried about you. What are you two doing?" Moka asked as she looked at the two guys.

She had been worried when she couldn't find Naruto, but it would seem her worry was unfounded.

"Tsuki was raised in the human world like us, and barely knows anything about his own culture, remember... we're helping him study."

"Oh, I'm so sorry for you. Being forced to live around humans had to be tough for you. Humans are just the worst, aren't they?" Moka pat Tsukune on the shoulder with a comforting hand. She smiled at him in a way that showed that she was completely unaware of what she had just said.

"Not going to lie, kind of racist."

"Oh shush you." Moka pinched his cheek. 'I can't exactly tell him that he's one of the good ones in front of Tsukune... better keep that to myself.' Moka had almost let Naruto's secret spill in front of Tsukune. "So... I don't know a lot about warlock culture, is it fun to study?" Moka asked the boys as she sat down.

She made herself comfortable.

"Very, I didn't know any of this stuff. I've really been missing out." Tsukune would actually have to say it was.

He was very determined to study it all so that he could survive any questions he might have to face in the future.

"So... Moka-san... uh... Naruto already told me his secret, so I already know he is a human... so... do you really hate humans?"

"I do, humans are the worst. Naruto just... he's different. I really like him." Moka blushed when she spoke. There was a moment when she looked at Naruto to see his reaction, only to see that he didn't get her casual confession of liking him. 'I can't say I like how dense he is though.' Moka sighed to herself.

Still, it wasn't like she had any competition, so she could enjoy her high school life with him for a little longer without making it super romantic.

"See, my best friend in the entire world is a racist towards me... oh what a sad life I live." Naruto fake cried. Moka pushed him with puffed out cheeks, before she looked at him standing up. "Well, I'll see you two tomorrow. We still on for movie night tomorrow?" Naruto asked Moka with finger guns pointed at her.

"Movie night?" Tsukune asked.

"Naruto and I love watching monster movies, and scary movies, and other movies together. Somehow Naruto always gets flat soda and it ruins it for him though... at some point he needs to switch to juice." Moka complained, since she could imagine it how.

"Why is the soda always fucking flat!?"

That was how it was going to go.

"Just no ghost movies, I don't handle ghost movies well. Watching ghost movies freaks me out... what?"

"... You have a phobia of ghosts?" Tsukune asked with some severe shock.

"I don't have a phobia of anything. A phobia is an irrational fear, and my fear of ghosts is extremely rational... I can't punch ghosts, and if I can't punch them, I can't solve an issue with them." Naruto deadpanned, since before he learned monsters were real he wasn't that afraid of ghosts. After learning monsters were real, he started to develop a legit fear of getting cursed by ghosts. "If I wanted to deal with a Werewolf, I could shot a silver bullet into their skull... if I wanted to take out a Succubus, I can punch that problem... no punchy ghosts makes me a sad boy."

"It really is a silly fear, isn't it. Naruto is so confident I don't think any ghost would have the courage to haunt him." Moka whispered to Tsukune, who nodded his head in agreement. Moka turned her attention back to Naruto. "... Don't worry, this time I picked out a Vampire movie... and I went with an overseas classic."

"Bram Stroker's Dracula?" Naruto asked her.

"Bram Stoker."

"What did I say?"

"Stroker?" Moka repeated what he said with a blush. For a guy who spoke several languages fluently, he sure had trouble with people's names. She looked at Tsukune, only to blush when she saw he had blushed after hearing her repeat the word. "You did that on purpose." Moka glared at Naruto.

"Did what on purpose?"

"You made me say Stroker ins..." Moka saw that Naruto wasn't joking, and just sighed and got up. "Naruto... tomorrow night?" Moka asked him to confirm.

He grinned.

"Yep."

"Then I guess it's a date."

Moka was excited for their "Date".

She always was.
