as Clayface was about to strike down on Robin he suddenly stopped, then it was like his own clay started to attack him, that's when Annie formed out from his shoulder, shouting at him to leave Robin alone, say boy took this chance to throw chemical water at Clayface's face and throw a grapple around Annie, pulling her free from Clayface's body, as soon as she was free Batman took Clayface down.
after handing Clayface to the police the heroic duo took Annie back to the Batcave to run some tests, after confirming that she wasn't Clayface pretending to be Annie due to having different brainwaves they also found that her clay molecules where slightly different to Clayface's as well, meaning that he couldn't absorb her back into himself, she was her own person 100%.
Bruce, after seeing how close her and Tim was, offered to adopt her and get a hand on her powers, as she was like Clayface she had the same powers as him, she agreed with joy along with Tim, adding a new member to the family, as time went on Annie gained mastery over her powers and became a great hero along side her Bat Family, her and Tim becoming so close they dated and married in their early 20's.
