Chapter 10 Trouble in the Mansion

Jin had sat in a dark warehouse with a wooden table in front of him with plans for the Sato mansion. The powerful gangster looked across the table. Standing there was a tall muscular woman, her hair was dyed a bright red. Her face is slim and she wears red lipstick. Her attire was that of an automobile worker being covered in oil stains. Her black eyes and pale skin did make the tomboy a bit immediate. Her arms were crossed looking at Jin.

"How much did you say this job would pay?" She asked. Jin took a deep sigh.

"Rojo, listen I wouldn't bring you here to waste time, and the new boss Shin is paying you double for this job, so why worry?" Jin asked.

"Because from what I hear, Shin is an idiot and running a muck as a leader yet the triple triads still prosper. Tell me how that works." Rojo said with a raised eyebrow. Jin's face remains calm but his eyes show a burning fire.

"So who's running the show?" Rojo asked. Jin narrowed his eyes on the woman. He slowly got up from his seat and laid a note from his pocket, sliding it to her. Rojo picked it up and saw a very large amount of money written on it.

"Any more questions or concerns?" Jin asked. Rojo shook her head and gave a toothy laugh.

"Nope," Rojo said.

"Good, how soon will you be able to start," Jin asked. Rojo glanced around the warehouse seeing all the tools and vehicles at her personal beckon aid. She smiled and stroked her chin in a joking manner.

"Maybe tomorrow," Rojo said with a smile. With that, Jin stood up and walked towards. Satisfied with the answer, that was given. Rojo did have one question in her mind.

"Hey, why did you have the map for this place," Rojo asked. Jin stopped putting on his coat and glanced at Rojo. The old-school gangster had a strong face.

"I did a job there once, but it didn't go well," Jin said with a somber voice. It was like a bad memory and his eyes became dull. "The job didn't go as planned, but uh I'm sure you'll make it smoother right?"

Rojo gave a smile and raised an eyebrow as Jin left the room.

"Don't worry those rich cats, have more than enough money to pay for their medical bills if they get in my way," Rojo said with a smile, she wasn't the number one thief in the city for nothing.

In the great Republic City, everyone was getting ready to do their morning routine. However, in one apartment building, could be described as a bit tense. Sitting at the dinner table were Opal and Ube on the left side, while on the right side of the table. Was Lin who had her arms crossed and glaring daggers at Opal. Opal did not have a good last night after the news was broken to her. Lin quietly went to her room and stayed there for the rest of the night. Ube tried to speak or knock on the door but he only received silence back. Opal slept in Ube's room, while he slept in the living room.

Now Ube had laid breakfast out for them all but Lin didn't change her stare at Opal. Ube wanted to break the tension but his mother beat him to the punch.

"Why are you here?" Lin asked her words as sharp as a knife. Opal gulped nervously as he fiddled with her hand.

"I'm here to visit, I wanted to meet you and your side of the family, your son is such a nice person," Opal said trying to lighten up the room. Lin didn't change her face but drank a cup of tea. Opal could tell Lin didn't welcome her here in this house, Opal was nervous she wanted to meet her aunt hearing about her legendary, duty to the city and busting crime.

"Good you've met us when do you leave," Lin said coldly.

Ube glanced at his cup saw his reflection in it, and felt a somber feeling. He glanced up at his mother and spoke softly.

"Why didn't you tell me I had more family out there?" Ube asked. Lin rolled her shoulders and cleared her throat. Ube could tell she was taken aback. Ube could tell his mother was uncomfortable. Lin could see the cat was out of the bag. Ube wanted the truth, Lin gave a glare at Opal who tensed up from the cop's stare. Ube spoke up and made sure her attention was on him.

"Mom don't blame her, she's a good person and I don't like the attitude you're giving Opal, she is your niece and my cousin, so please no more of this," Ube said being firm but not mean. He wanted to make his point across. Not have a shouting match.

Lin rubbed the bridge of her nose and had a hard stare at Ube. The young teen wasn't afraid but kindly gazed across the table meeting her eyes, unafraid, and strong. Lin's face softened and glanced back at Opal, who was meekly in the room. Lin let out a loud sigh and rubbed her forehead. It was clear as day Opal wasn't as like Sue. It was the lack of mischief in her eyes, though she had been wrong before.

"You have Aunt Ube and also my half-sister, I haven't talked to her in a long time, I didn't know she married and had children," Lin turned towards Opal having a calm composure yet still annoyed.

"I'm guessing your mother sent you to re-contact with me?" Lin asked. Opal shook her head and put her hands in her lap trying to not look like a threat and giving her full attention.

"I wanted to meet you, Aunt Lin," Opal said however when she called Lin by her name she was afraid. After all the hostile treatment it was plain as day. Lin didn't want her here. "I heard so much about you and I wish to stay here for some time, with you in the city."

Lin narrowed her eyes and studied Opal's body language, Ube could tell his mother was already interrogating Opal. Ube had seen her fair share of cold outbursts from the police chief but that was only for case and punks. Ube had to ask why she was being so mean to her family.

"How long?" Lin asked but her voice was near demanding the answer. Opal was shaken and quickly answered.

"For the whole the summer,"

Lin took a deep breath and gently set her hands on the table. To Ube, she could see her losing her temper but quickly regained it. Ube was ready on standby making sure, his mom didn't blow up at Opal.

"Aunt Lin?" Opal asked.

"I can't watch over you, I've too many things going on and big case, the city not as pretty as you think it is and I do not need to babysit. Sue child so I'll take you back to the station then you can go back home," Lin said as she stood up. Opal was at a loss for words and lowered her head.

"Well it was fun as it lasted," Opal thought. Then like a divine interception Ube spoke.

"Then I'll watch over her and she'll be out of your way," Ube said.

Lin faced Ube and gave a hard stare. Ube still stood unfazed this was not just him being a teenage rebellion but another feeling. This was him doing the right thing. Lin rubbed her face and glared at her son, not knowing of the drama he had fallen into.

"She came to us for help, I'm not just going to send her back on her merry way, Opal family," Ube said. In Opal's eyes, all she saw was a normal man facing off a badger mole.

"Ube no, I-," Lin tried to say but was cut off by Ube.

"Mom please, Opal's family and I want to know more about it, you don't talk about it that much and if you're not comfortable talking about it, then why not let Opal stay, her supervision is my responsibility, I will take any punishment if I fail or don't meet your standards," Ube said with a wholehearted honesty. Lin knew this was just her son being a noble person. She questions in her mind. Did she want that criminal daughter in her own house with her child? Was Opal the same, not caring for the consequences? Lin looked at the clock and gave a calm sign.

"Ube she can stay," Lin said. Opal and Ube both had happy smiles plastered on their faces. However, before they could celebrate, the mood was cut off by Lin's strict tone of voice.

"But if she's going to stay here for the summer, she's going to find a job you're not gonna be a moocher," Lin said looking at Opal who tensed up. "Do I make myself clear,"

"Yes ma'am!" Opal said. Lin could tell in her voice how serious she was.

"Don't worry I'm sure Mr. Shi wouldn't mind the extra help," Ube said. She glanced at her son and relaxed. Ube thought he was going to get a loving smile or a respectful nod.

"If something happens, you're grounded for a month," Lin said. Ube simply shook his head in defeat and acceptance.

"Yeah, I probably should've expected that," Ube said. Lin knew it was time to go to work and put on her coat.

"You two stay out of trouble now, I don't want to see you in a jail cell," Lin said as walked to the door. Still, Ube and Opal were happy they could spend the summer together. Lin spun around and glanced at Ube's wrist, seeing that strange watch. Lin assumed that he tried to find the owner, but proved to be fruitless, so he might as well keep it but Lin did have one problem with it.

"Son I love but that watch is ugly," Lin said as left the building. The two reckless teens' sat down and took what happened. There was a moment of silence, probably because they had to take in the harshness of Lin but Ube found her reaction to be odd.

Opal took a sip of her tea and gave a serious face.

"I know my mom told me that her relationship with her sister was rough but never like this," Opal said, rubbing her temples.

"I'm sorry, Mom never acts like this when bringing over guests, what happened between my mom and yours?" Ube asked. Opal tries to recollect all the conversations they ever had about her aunt.

"I don't know, all she says is there was a little scuffle between them, and some complications," Opal said.

"It wasn't Little," Ube said as he began to think deeply. Opal wanted to know what Ube meant.

"What do you mean?" Opal asked. Une moved his head in a thinking manner and scratched his chin.

"Opal my moms the chief of police in the busiest city in the world for a long time, she doesn't just lose her cool over nothing, so there's something bigger going on here, not to mention when you said your name it sounded like she wanted to throw you out the door," Ube said stoically. Opal couldn't argue with his cousin's logic.

"Yeah something's up," Opal said, then she lowered her head. "She hates me,"

"Hey don't say, just give her some time to warm up to you, to be honest, she's got a lot on her plate right now, while her son is going around playing vigilante or using alien shape-shifting. It's weird at times," Ube said. Opal couldn't have agreed more but then a thought dawned on her.

"You haven't told your mom about the Omnitrixs!" Opal said in shock.

"Yeah, I don't know how to tell her but I don't think I should," Ube said. Opal didn't want to interfere in any family drama so she decided to stay out of this one.

"Alright, it's your choice," Opal said as there was a moment of silence between the two. "So what's the plan today?"

The day was young and bright, just waiting for the youth to cease it. Ube smiled and rolled his shoulders already thinking about what to do.

"Well let's head to the happy Dragon and get you a job, Mr. Shi would love to have more hands," Ube said with a smile. Opal agreed but then it dawned on her. She had a mischievous smile on her face.

"Oh I thought today was important for you lover boy," Opal said. Ube he choked on his tea when he heard that.

"Where is this coming from," Ube said. Opal let out a laugh.

"You forgot already didn't you," Opal said. Uber was still confused at what she was saying, then like a thunderbolt struck him, he remembered a promise last night. He shot up from his seat and grabbed his head.

"Oh man, I forgot I have to go over to Asami's house!" Ube panicked. "Oh man, I don't even know where she lives!"

Opal raised an eyebrow at Ube and crossed her arms. "You know where Sato's live right?"

"Of course, I know where they live, they're one of the richest families in the world and their automobiles are everywhere, what's that got to do with anything," Ube said. Opal had a stumped face at his cousin's reaction.

"Uh hello, Sato. Aka Asami Sato, the daughter of Hiroshi Sato! You're telling me that you didn't even notice," Opal said. Ube gasped at the realization and slapped his face.

"Oh man, I'm an idiot!" Ube said out loud to himself. He questioned to himself how he did not notice that his crush was one of the richest people in the world.

"Didn't you save her from a dinosaur attack? I read it in the newspaper last night," Opal said.

"I just thought it was a coincidence, I mean, sometimes I just get lost in her eyes and then I just imagine how great she is," Ube said in panic. Opal glanced at the clock.

"Well you better get going is it her residence across the city and in the mountains, you better hurry," Opal said. Ube rushed out of the door but immediately re-entered the room.

"I forgot my shoes! Stay out of trouble!" Ube said. Then he ran out of the room and then ran back to the doorway.

"Hey don't forget you still have to go to Mr. Shi for a job, don't go down the main street, it's gonna be crowded at this time, take a long way through the park," Ube said in a rushed manner. Then immediately ran out again. Then back in and pointed at Opal.

"Don't talk to strangers, love you cousin bye!" Ube said as he rushed out of the building. Opal has finally left alone, and couldn't help but laugh at her strange cousin's fluttered emotions.

"He is a dork," Opal laughed. Then her curious stare edged into Ube's room. Knowing a certain hoverboard was in his room.

"I'll be there in no time but at least in style," Opal said with a sly smile. This was made of a dream and Opal was loving it. "Aliens are so cool,"

Asami sat at her large dinner table tapping her fingers nervously. Asami was making notes about her past events. She had suspicions of something big and confirmation that Ube was working with the spirits but the more she reflected on her experience with these otherworldly souls. She couldn't say they were divine spirits. She had read the stories and in her personal opinion, they didn't match up to the legend description. They seemed more alive, they were living breathing things that had amazing power. Things weren't adding up.

If Ube was caught up in some evil plan then he would save him. "I'll make sure you are safe,"

"My, my I've never seen my daughter look so tense before," Hiroshi said with a smile Asami was snapped out of her daze and softly coughed to clear her voice.

"It's nothing Dad I just have a friend coming over that's all," Asami said as she lazily held her chin on the table. Her father could see something was eating her up inside so he had to ask.

"So what's wrong my daughter," Hiroshi asked. Asami tried to play it off and put up a fake happy front like nothing was wrong.

"Dad I'm fine you don't have to worry about me, just thinking about work," Asami said. Hiroshi raised an eyebrow and took a seat next to Asami.

"Asami what's the truth," Hiroshi asked. Asami knew her father was always good at getting the truth from her. Well if he wanted the truth Asami could give her version of it. The last thing she wanted to do was bring her father into this. She held a worried schoolgirl look.

"One of my friends is coming over, I'm just a little nervous is all," Asami said. Hiroshi's face beamed with happiness, it was so good to see her daughter wasn't alone, he knew making her get a job was worth it. Ever since the passing of her mother was always silent; she was nice and kind but refused to reach out to others. It was only really her father she could talk to.

"What's their name?" asked Hiroshi.

"His name is Ube," Asami answered but her father had a mischievous look on his face and rose a brow.

"That sounds oddly like a boy's name or a type of dessert," Hiroshi joked. Asami puffed out her cheeks and looked away from her father in embarrassment.

"DAD! It's not like he's just a friend his all," Asami said. Hiroishi laughed at her daughter's reaction. Putting a gentle hand on her shoulder. Asami gave in and held his hand. She looked at her father and gave a soft laugh.

"I think you'll like him, he's kinda like you," Asami said. Hiroishi proudly stroked his mustache in a comedic manner.

"Oh, and how's that?" He asked.

"You both are major goofy balls," Asami said with a smirk, Hiroishi laughed at the comment and walked out of the room. Asami smiled never faded as she knew, that in tough times she did have her father. Even though she would feel those sad thoughts of losing her mother, she could hold that pain deep down. Her hand tightened without her noticing as she waited for Ube. Then a thought dawned on her.

"Oh no, I didn't tell him where I live!" Asami said. She rushed through the home and raced down the stairs. Asami thought if she was lucky enough, She could catch Ube at work. Soon she was in the main welcoming room of Sato mansion, where guests would enter. Asami could see up ahead that the house butler cracked the door open and talked to someone outside. He was a short muscled man with slicked-back hair and a thin mustache. He wore a black and white Butler attire.

"I'm sorry sir but I cannot let you in, Sir," Guo said.

"Are you sure I thought her last name was Sato," Ube's voice called out from behind the door. Asami's heart skipped a beat. It was him alright. She ran across the room and gently tapped Gou's shoulder.

"It's alright you can't let him in," Asami said.

"As you wish Ma," Gou nodded his head and opened the door, to reveal Ube who looked nervous but his eyes softened when he could see Asmai standing there. Asami was gawked at by many people in her life each time she found them to be gross, those men only saw an object in front of them. Simple woman to take.

Ube never gave that impression, when he looked at her it was like he was lost in a perfect dream. That perfect dream was hers.

"Hey Asami," Ube said shyly. She also loved that aspect of Ube was always careful with his words, when he talked to her. Asami truly asked her how this shy person could help these powerful spirits.

"Hey Ube," Asami said. Ube shyly stood in the doorway unsure of what to say next or why Asami wanted to talk. There was an awkward moment of silence between them.

"Okay, you can come in now," Asami said. Ube blushed in embarrassment and hurriedly followed behind Asami. Ube couldn't help but sightsee. There were so many rooms in the hallways alone. True masters made the paintings in this house. The White-golden-painted walls matched with the red carpet floor. As they walked down the halls some more, Ube's eyes caught onto a giant indoor pool. Ube nervously gulped at his surroundings.

"I knew you were rich but I didn't expect anything like this," Ube committed. Asami shrugged her shoulders and glanced behind her shoulder. She showed her kind green eyes to Ube who slightly gawked.

"It comes with the perks but I guess you found that out today," Asami said with a smirk. She could always read Ube so easily but she had to know about the spirits. The young shapeshifter scratched the back of his head.

"Yeah, you got me, Opal told me today sorry for not noticing sooner," Ube apologized. Asami spun around and had a kind front.

"Ube don't apologize, it's what I like about you Ube, you don't judge people on what they can do," Asami said. Ube blushed at the comment and didn't know what to say. Asami glanced at his reaction and backpedaled her steps. Leaving the two in an awkward silence. Ube wanted to get rid of this awkwardness.

"So uh what did you want to talk about?" Ube asked. Asami changed her attitude and looked stoic in some manner.

"I need to talk to you privately about well uh, I don't know how to ask this," Asami asked. Ube could see how uncomfortable Asami was, then in the heat of the moment, he gently held her shoulder. Asami was stunned as Ube's strong yet gentle gaze was on her.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Ube asked. Asami took a deep breath and held the hand that was on her shoulder.

"Why are you helping the spirits?" Asami asked. Ube now was the one who felt his heart skip a beat. He was in the spotlight of someone who he cared deeply about. Ube had come here thinking Asami wanted to talk about work. Now this has gone completely differently than he expected. Ube took a deep breath to call himself. His mother always takes a calm breath in any tense situation. Ube glanced down at the floor thinking of an answer to give. Before he could respond to the serious question. A series of footsteps, that Echo behind them. Draw their attention.

"So you must Ube," A jolly voice called out to him. I've spun around to see Hiroshi Sato. Ube felt his jaw drop seeing one of the richest men in the city. Asami facepalm herself, realizing she was so close to the answer. Only for it to be interrupted.

"Your Hiroshi Sato, it's an honor," Ube said, amazed at the man. Hiroshi raised chaparral and gave a proud smile.

"Why yes I am and you must be Ube, my daughter's coworker" Hiroshi said. He offered his hand to the young teen. Ube being the gentleman shook the hand. Hiroshi's eye caught the strange watch that Ube.

"My strange watch you wear," Hiroshi said. The inventor had never seen a design like this before. It was very foreign to him. Heck in his eye the watch didn't look like I could tell any time.

"It's nice to meet you, sir, My name is Ube Beifong," Ube said nervously. Hiroshi and Asami were both surprised to hear that name. Hiroshi gave a small chuckle. Ube glanced at the two seeing their reaction.

"Uh is something wrong?" Ube asked.

"No of course not I'm just surprised is all, I never thought Lin Beifong ever had a son," Hiroshi said with a hint of shock. Asami felt the same but slightly playfully punched Ube's arm.

"Talk about hiding last names, why didn't you say anything?" Asami asked. Ube smiled at the playfulness and was a bit shy of the answer.

"Mom always told me to keep my last name to myself as much as I could, when you're the police chief's son there are a lot of enemies who wouldn't mind taking you out for a vendetta," Ube said.

Hiroshi study the man trying to understand the earthbender trash that was brought into his house. Hiroshi wonder why his daughter would hang out with such scum but for right now he held up his false happy front.

"Well I've never known I was in front of great earth bender lineage," Hiroshi said. Asami gave her father a disproved glance. Hiroshi was confused why would asking about someone bending be so personal? Shouldn't this Ube be proud of his power? Ube stood respectfully and shoulders straight.

"Sir I'm not a bender," Ube said. Hiroshi's eyes lit up with shock. Then he could see the shame in Ube's eyes. Asking that question to any person who didn't possess the power was almost the same as what use you have. Asami put a hand on Ube's shoulder trying to comfort him. Hiroshi backpled with his words.

"I'm sorry to ask that I-," Hiroshi was cut off by Ube.

"It's fine, I don't mind having no bending, it's a only question nothing to cry over," Ube said having that simple smile on his face. Hiroshi rubbed the back of his head trying to not make this situation any more awkward than it was.

"Besides bending doesn't make the person sir," Ube said with a smile. Hiroshi gave a respectful nod.

"I'll let you two be don't mind me," Hiroshi said as he walked away. Asami shocked her head at her father's response. That strange of him to see him like that. Granted Asami rarely brought home friends but it was still strange for her father to ask about bending. Hiroshi on the other hand was delighted to know her daughter was friends with a young reasonable man, not to mention his lack of bending was the cherry on top of it all.

"I'm sorry about that," Asami said to Ube.

"Oh it's fine, I don't mind at all but isn't there something you wanted to ask me," Ube said. Asami swiftly grabbed Ube's hand and yanked him across the hall. Ube was shocked to see how strong Asami was, he felt like the strength of a grown man was pulling him along, only to remember that it was only sweet Asami.

Asami wanted to get her answer fast so she pulled Ube across the manner until they reached a room. Ube felt Asami let go of his hand but tumble on the rugged floor. Ube slowly got up only to realize where he was. There were many fancy cabinets and dressing gowns hanging on the floor. While automobile parts laid across the floor. With a work desk with a picture of an Asami mother holding her child when she was very young. By Ube's feet was a black bra.

"Oh my gosh, I'm in a girl's room!" Ube said in a panic. Then covers his eyes and blushes bright red. Asami could only laugh at Ube's reaction. Asami picked up the bra and threw it across the bed.

"What a gentleman Ube but you can look, I don't mind," Asami said tapping his shoulder. Uber slowly pulled his hands from his face and glanced across the room. Now seeing the layout and the contacts in the room. This fancy room could only be described in one word: messy.

"Okay, you want the truth right?" Ube asked. Asami sat on the edge of her queen-sized bed. She still tried to hold a stoic look but it slowly became a more worrying face.

"Yes, are you in danger," Asami asked. "And why do you have the symbol on your watch like those spirits

"No, I'm not in danger, it's kind of quite the opposite actually," Ube said with a serious tone of voice, but thinking about this alien watch made him giggle at the end of his sentence. Asami had a confused look at Ube.

"A while back in the park when the explosion happened I was there, and I met these spirits. I was terrified but they were very kind and they asked me to help guide them through this world. That's why Terraspin was at the restaurant looking for me. I know this is all crazy but that's the truth," Ube said with wonder, telling a grand lie with a hint of truth. Asami had a befuddled expression.

"Are you serious but how?" Asami inquired of Ube. The young teen's thinking quickly gave a shy smile.

"Yeah well you see this thing on my wrist, this strange watch on my arm. Well, you see I'm kind of a magnet for trouble if you couldn't tell," Ube said as he showed off his watch to Asami. Her eyes locked onto that strange device that was on the young teen's wrist. The same device she saw on him the first time they met.

"You see this watch can call for one of the spirits to aid my beacon and save people's lives," Ube said. Asami's eyes widened as she gave a slight gasp.

"That means you were?" Asami said, having a sudden realization.

"I was there. I was at the store, the museum, and the City Hall. It was all me who called for help," Ube said with a sly smile. Asami had an amazed expression on her face. She got off the bed and slowly walked around Ube studying him. Asami was complex and didn't know what to say. She could only truly ask.

"Why are you doing this?" Asami said as she gazed into Ube's eyes. She wanted an answer for why such a kind man would go around helping others but even that answer was truly self-explanatory.

"Because I like helping people a lot," Ube said. Asami let out an excited laugh. She took a step back brushing her hair back in a skittish manner.

"Do you mind if you can see it? The spirit watch or whatever it's called," Asami said, trying to hold in her excitement. Ube nodded and held out his wrist.

"I don't see why not- WOW!" Ube was cut off because Asami had just yanked his arm with such Strength. Ube nearly lost its footing when the girl pulled on him.

"How does it work?" Asami asked. Ube gently pulled back not wanting to hurt or scare Asami. When Ube freed his arm, Asami shyly looked away realizing what she did. She couldn't help it after years of self-defense classes; she was just stronger than others.

"Jeez, you're really strong," Ube realized what he said and backpedaled on the answer. "Not like that's a bad thing I mean your lean muscle just makes you more amazing in my mind,"

Asami blushed and didn't mind the complaint as she tucked her hair behind her right ear.

"Thank you," She said shyly. Ube cleared his throat wanting to be clear and get rid of any teenage voice crack.

"Besides I can't let you see how this thing works. I've been sworn by oath to keep this a secret, to not let it fall into the hands of evil," Ube said. Asami had a disappointed look on her face. She got her truth but it led to more questions. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to pry but I was worried about you is all,"

Ube was hit with a rack of guilt and knew that came with lying.

"Hey, it's fine I'm glad you know, it's kinda hard to keep this stuff to myself, I'm just happy someone knows, especially a friend," Ube said boldly then gently held Asami's hand. She smiled back and tenderly squeezed the hand back. Then the two slowly came to realize what they were doing, and quickly let go of each other's hands.

"Thanks, I'm glad you told me," Asami said to Ube. Now that the nitty-gritty was out of the way, what was there to do now?

"So uh what do we do now?" Ube said with a blush. Asami smiled and excitedly moved close to Ube's face.

"You wanna go race car driving with me," Asami said super fast and cheerful. Ube eyes awkwardly darted across the room.

"Yeah," Ube said.

On the outer roads of the Sato mansion grounds a large gray truck was parked in the woods. Rojo stood by her truck as a group of masked goons were behind her.

She turned around to face the gang and smiled. Rojo stood tall and proud, ready for the crime she was going to commit.

"Alright, boys today we bust into the Sato estate and steal that mecha remains that got busted by that thunder spirit," Rojo said. Many of the crooks had unsure faces and mumbled among themselves. Rojo raised an eyebrow at all of them.

"What's wrong," Rojo asked in an annoyed tone of voice. Two-Toed pinged had decided to speak up.

"Well, you see Mrs Rojo, the Sato mansion is one of the most secure places in the world. You would have better luck trying to break into the boiling rock prison," Ping said with a hint of fear. Rojo narrowed her eyes dug a hole in the ground and pulled out a large black wire covered in dirt.

"Theirs only two things to worry about when breaking into the Sato mansion. The first being the panic room and second, the panic button that alerts the police," Rojo said as she pulled out a knife and cut the wire.

"Now we only have to worry about that panic room," Rojo said. Ping smiled and raised a brow as the thieves amongst them were now interested.

"How do we get in, It's not like we can knock on the front door," Ping said with a bit of attitude. Rojo smiled. Then grabbed a tube from the back of the truck and rolled it out on the truck hood.

"My benefactor decided to aid us with these blueprints to the escape tunnels," Rojo said with a smirk. All of them gathered around the truck hood. Ping glanced at Rojo with a smile.

"So we smash and grab the meach," Ping says with a smile. Rojo nodded and looked at the sato building ahead.

"Yep and who says we can't have fun while doing it," Rojo said as she had a chaotic look in her eye. All she wanted to do was get the job done and burn this place down. Rojo wanted to stick it to these rich pigs and show them they weren't on top.

The Sato estate had a lot of space so much that the backyard had a personal warehouse for vehicles and a large test race track. All on top of nice green acres.

Ube and Asami both were in racing automobiles. The two had goggles and brown helmets as the wind blew in their faces. They were racing against another driver. Ube was having the time of his life smiling the whole time. Asami drove the vehicle coolly as her hair danced in the wind.

"This is the best moment of my life!" Ube said with utter glee. This was the final lap as they were neck and neck. Ube thought he had taken the lead but Asmai smirked as quickly pulled a maneuver and drifted around Ube putting her in the lead and crossing first over the finish line. Ube's mouth was gaped as he slowed down and parked the car.

The two teens had gotten out of their respective cars and walked to each other. Ube took off his proactive gear. The young teen's jaw dropped seeing how smoothly Asami took off her helmet and goggles. Ube swore things were going in slow motion in his mind watching the beautiful heiress's hair flow in the wind. Lost in the moment Ube couldn't help but stare. Asami giggled seeing how Ube was acting.

"What's you looking at?" Asami said. Ube shyly laughed and glanced away.

"Nothing!" Ube said he didn't do anything. Asami rolls her eyes and slowly walks to a bench. She took a seat and took a swig of her water bottle. Ube smiled and sat down beside her.

"It's crazy I can't imagine you ever get bored here," Ube said.

"You get bored pretty quickly but all the money, expensive cars, and indoor pools. Just pass the time for only a little bit," Asami said with a somber voice. Ube was surprised to hear the news from his origins from being dirt poor, seeing the suspect of life, thought this was the pinnacle, the absolute best of what you could get. Though seeing Asami not fully enjoying it made him wonder why.

"Besides, I'm more jealous of you. You talk to spirits every day you go around, helping people and making this city a better place," Asami said with amazement. "I think you have the most extraordinary life ever,"

Ube humbly looked away and rubbed the back of his neck.

"Well, it's hard to help people when your mom is the police chief, I swear I feel like every time I enter the house it might be an interrogation," Ube said in a joking manner. Asami took an understanding sigh and rubbed the back of her neck as well.

"I know the feeling literally on my first day of school. My father assigned an entire security team to protect me. I was only five," Asami said remembering how embarrassing it was to have a toddler, being guarded by three giant bodyguards.

"Yeah that can be a little hard but hey they do it because they love us," Ube said. Asami couldn't disagree with the point.

"I never got to say thank you for calling the spirits to save my father. Thank you for that," Asami said with sincere gratitude.

"It's fine, it's not like I do this for fame or gratitude. I just do it because I like it," Ube said with a hopeful smile. Asami in a bold decision decided to lean her head against Ube's shoulder. She wanted to do it, Ube was just a nice person to be around so she simply trusted Ube to lean for a moment. Ube's heart skipped a beat as he felt her head touch his shoulder. He did everything in his power to hold back the blush that was about to appear on his face.

"Uh, maybe we should go back to the house if you're tired," Ube said in an awkward caring manner. Asami smiled and shrugged her shoulders.

"Nah I think you're way more comfortable than a bed," Asami teased. While Ube blushed even redder. Before the awkward moment could escalate more for Ube. A sudden loud security alarm rang out scaring the two. Then a loud explosion echoed from the distance.

"What was that!" Ube said, alarmed at the loud noise. Asami's eyes widened as her breath halted. A sense of panic filled her mind. She wanted to see her father now and make sure he was safe.

"Those are the burglar alarms," Asami said in shock then without hesitation, she grabbed onto Ube's arm and dragged Ube with her.

"Where are we going!" Ube said.

"We're going to find my dad and we're all heading toward the safe room," Asami said. Ube's eyes broadened as he started to run with Asami instead of being dragged. When danger was calling he would take the call. Asami watched for a moment how the timid teen turned into a brave man marching into uncertainty.

"Come on, let's go!" Ube said.

"Aren't you going to call the spirits!" Asami said who was now running as fast as Ube.

"Well here's the thing, spirits can be very helpful and a little inexperienced, right now you said this was an alarm so it could be just the systems going off, we may not even know if anyone is intruding," Ube said. Then another loud explosion erupted from the front entrance of the mansion. The smoke could be seen for miles.

"Then again I could be very wrong!" Ube said as he ran a bit faster.

"You think!" Asami said with a hint of sarcasm. The two teens ran off into the mansion. The two had rushed into the back door as Asami took the lead and went to her father's study. Hiroshi was about to open the door to his office to investigate the noise but was greeted by her daughter. The two paused and quickly hugged each other.

"Dad!" Asami said with relief.

"Asami are you, okay you're not hurt are you?" Hiroshi asked with extreme care.

"Yeah, I'm okay what was that noise?" Asami asked

"I don't know, I've tried to contact the authorities but it appears the phone lines are cut off. even our radio transmission towers are down, I can't call for help, we have to go to the safe room!" Hiroshi said in worry thinking that the worst was upon his family again. Another breaking in that would take the only things he cared about in this world.

"MR SATO I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH YOU! LET'S TALK ABOUT BUSINESS!" Rojo's voice yelled as her voice echoed throughout the large mansion. Hiroshi glanced at the two teens and rushed them to the end of the hall.

"Go to the safe room!" He said, guiding the two. Ube wanted to break away from the grasp and check out what was going on but he had to keep these two safe. There was no telling what crazy intentions these criminals had.

"What about the other people in the house?" Asami protested.

"They know the other new secret escape routes, they'll be fine, besides it clear they want us," Hiroshi said using that genius mind of his. Ube wanted to protest but how could he say 'Hey don't worry I can turn into an alien and save the day,' Ube thought as he argued with himself.

The three ran down a long hall at the very end of the hall was a big panting of a tree. Hiroshi ran past a candle stick and pulled it down. The painting revealed it was a large steel door.

"Into the room will be safe!" Hiroshi said certainly that was their salvation from the intruders. Hiroshi and Asami quickly got in seeing a large room that had food and another radio on a wooden table. Before Ube could step in he heard the noise of someone approaching them.

"Hey over here I think I heard something!"

Ube eyes widened at how close the voices were. The teen looked at Hiroshi who stood inside the room. Hiroshi glanced at Ube with a concerned face.

"Come on, you don't have much time," Hiroshi called out to Ube. The young teen gave a glance at Asami. Ube put on a confident smirk and knew that the two were safe there.

"Sorry but I can't just stand around," Ube said.

"Ube?" Asami asked even though in her mind she knew what Ube was doing. However, she still wanted to protest against it. Unfortunately, it was too late as Une slowly closed the door.

"Young Man, what are you doing?" Hiroshi said, unsure of what the young teen's antics were.

"I'm sorry Mr. Sat but I have to go and try to get some help," Ube said as fully closed the door and the mechanisms on the inside, locked it shut. Asami ran towards the door and beat her fist against the metal.

"No, no, no Ube you don't have to try. We're safe here!" Asami said as her hand stopped and she slid down to the floor in sadness. Hiroshi comforted her daughter and guided her away from the door. Hiroshi glanced at the door and took a worried sigh. He hoped that Asami wouldn't lose another friend, especially one who seemed to have a heart of gold.

"Good luck Ube," Hiroshi said.

Ube who had fully shut the door took a step back and drew a deep breath. Right now he was getting his head in the game. The sound of footsteps approached him from behind. Ube hides in another room and cracks the door open to spy on whoever is in the hallway. Ube spotted Rojo who was looking at Blueprints. Ube was quite familiar with this person having seen her case record. Lin would sometimes leave her work on the table. I couldn't help but read the files.

Rojo was an expert and seasoned burglar. She started at a very young age and she has quite a record of break-ins. Following her were two thugs who wore dark clothes and shaved heads.

"Looks like we're too late boss, those Satos are locked up in their safe room," One goon spoke up. Rojo smiled and rolled her shoulders in a relaxed manner.

"It's alright boys, the other men are looking for the mech stash at the Sato personal warehouse. Not to mention they made this so easy for us. They're just locked in one room let's just knock on the door," Rojo said with a chaotic, reckless tone of voice. she snapped her fingers, gaining the two goons' attention.

"Get the power tools. I can crack this panic room in under an hour," Rojo said. Ube didn't like that he was not on a schedule, and frankly, you wondered why Hiroshi Sato had that monstrosity of machinery in his basement. Ube mentally fought against himself for what he would do. Save Sato or stop this gang from stealing some dangerous equipment.

Ube knew he needed speed so why not a little bit of acceleration? Ube twisted the dial and before he could push down on the face a goon called out to her.

"Rojo we found it," He said calmly. Rojo glanced at the safe.

"Well, today's your luck day," Rojo said to herself. "You two break open the safe if that butler can concat the cops will done for they might as well get a hostage,"

The goons nodded and started to pull out tools from their bags. Ube was sick to his stomach as he spied from behind the door and unintentionally pushed on it making the old wood creak. Rojo's head snapped her head toward the room Ube snapped back from the door trying to think about an escape route.

Meanwhile, Rojo snapped her fingers, getting her people's attention.

"Go check that out," Rojo said as she left to go see the alien mech. Ube could hear footsteps approaching the room. Ube could see that this room had no windows. Ube quickly activated the Omnitrix as fast as he could. Then when the door creaked open the burglar looked and saw nothing.

"It's nothing," The goon said as he closed the door. Then from behind one of the curtains popped out Graymatter who glanced across the room and swiped the top of his head for self-relief.

"That was a close one, man I have to admit this form is really handy," Gray Matter said. "Now I just have to find a way out of here without alerting the guards?"

The alien used its large beady eyes to study the room, seeing nice furniture and tables. However, he did see a small little elephant at the end of the right side of the room.

"Bingo!" Grey Matter said as he ripped the metal vent cover off. "I hope I can get this thing working and stop Rojo, jeez can this day get any worse?

At the boating docs of Republic City, three large battleships were tethered by chains and anchors. Tenzin stood calmly waiting for someone. Tenzin took a deep breath and could see a set of stairs being deployed onto the peer.

A man who looked to be older than Tenzin walked down wearing a dark red navel coat nation uniform and white naval officer pants. He had wild black-grayish hair and a beard to his chin up to his sideburns. He had a smile on his face as he shouted in the air and smacked his palms ready for the day. Tenzin let out a tired sigh

"Hello Bumi," Tenzin said in a tired voice. Bumi put his arm around Tenzin's shoulder and still held his mad grin. This was Bumi a legendary captain of the untied nation, one of the three children to Aang, and older brother to Tenzin.

"So were the spirits big shot, Don't tell me I scared them off!" Bumi said with great joy.

While soldiers waited for orders Opal stood outside of the Happy Dragon restaurant she had her hoverboard hidden in her bag but she looked at the sign with a hint of intimidation. She never thought about getting a job but she wanted to stay here and make sure Ube wasn't alone in his endeavors. Also, she thought it would be a good experience.

She walked through the door and could see Mr. Shi working on paper and crunching numbers on a wooden abacus. He looked at Opal who entered from the front door. Before Opal could speak Mr. Shi had cut her off.

"Grab an apron from the back you hired also the dishes need to be clean," Mr. Shi said in a relaxed manner.

"How did you know?" Opal said in surprise. Mr. Shi gave a sly smile to Opal.

"Well I could tell you weren't a fan of the food so next guess is you're here to work and Lin doesn't allow free loaders which means. Get a job or sleep on the street. Am I right?" Mr. Shi asked although already knew the story. Opal was shocked and couldn't help but smile in amazement.

"This guy would give Aiwei at my home a run for his money," Opal thought. No wonder Aunt Lin and Ube trusted this guy so much he was like a secret angel to them.

"How did you do that?" Opal asked. Mr. Shi still worked but talked to Opal unfazed by her question.

"I used to be in law enforcement," Mr. Shi said, clicking his pen and writing down numbers.

"You're a cop?" Opal asked. Mr. Shi put down his pen and glanced at Opal taking a tired sigh.

"You could say that. However, I prefer you get started on the dishes and then maybe you'll get another question out of me and besides work makes characters. Something a rich girl like you needs," Mr. Shi said calmly. He wasn't rude or annoyed but he was down to business with a bit of light hearted nature. Opal nodded and opened the kitchen door.

Opal was welcomed by piles of dishes covered in food and grease not even her brother was this mess. This was a horror show of chores.

"Hey be careful about touching your face we had a couple of spicy meal worm platters, just a heads up that stuff stings your eyes," Mr. Shi shouted from the kitchen. Opal let out a slow groan and knew this was going to be a long day.

"I hope Ube having a better day than me," Opal said with a long sigh.

Gray matter ran through the vents trying to get out. While running through the building's air vents. Ube needed to stop the two goons trying to break into the safe. Gray Matter began to think about how to get into the safe room. Then in a stroke of utter genius

took a sharp right turn.

Ube had taken great notice that he was more knowledgeable in this form. He could make clever plans and understand things faster. Gray Matter formulated a thought that if Hiroshi and Asami were in the safe room there needed to be an air supply and what better way to see while he was in the vents.

After taking a turn he could see a vent-grade head so he ran at the metal cover and slammed into it. Unfortunately, there was a large accumulation of black dust that obscured his vision but he could hear Asami's voice. Feeling a rush of joy he busts through the vent with a cloud of dust following suit. He landed on the ground and let out a relieved yell more so that he wasn't breathing in dust but still happy to see his friends.

"I'm here," Gray Matter said in his high-pitched, groggy voice. Asami was shocked at the side of the strange creature but felt a very familiar presence with it.

However, Hiroshi reacted in a different way as a strange creature popped out of the vent. The man for the first time in his very life let out a high-pitched, girly scream. Gray matter stood awkwardly and began to reflect on his actions, realizing this may have not been the best choice.

"This was not the greatness plan,"

So that was Lin's reaction to Opal you can see how much joy Ube brought into Lin's life making her more calm. However, I would be more worried about Ube's reaction to Suyin when he finds out about that scar. So this a two-parter I know also next chapter will see some equalist action. So I hope you guys enjoy and thank you for reading have a great day.
