Madara and Tobirama were sitting on either side of a bench at a local park. Tobirama cleared his throat and turned to Madara. "I assume you've summoned me here to discuss something, yes?"

Madara angled himself to face Tobirama and nodded. "Yes, there is." He inhaled as the wind blew and exhaled softly. "As you know, Reina and I have wanted to have a baby."

"Of course." Tobirama nodded.

"While I think the opportunity Mito is giving us is undeniably charitable, Reina and I had conflicted feelings towards the matter. Reina is fine with having a child with less power than us, but I dislike the idea." Madara placed a hand on his chest. "I understand your statistics and I recognize future generations will naturally be less powerful due to the absence of war; however, there is part of me that cannot fathom my offspring being weaker than I am. It may be my ego acting up, but I also still feel a sense of distrust between our clans. I cannot help but habitually anticipate a negative outcome."

"Naturally," Tobirama commented. "Just because our battles have ended and we have been abiding by our peace treaty, does not mean our internal wars have ceased. Trust is something we must strive towards, but it doesn't happen overnight. Understandably, we do not trust one another."

Madara nodded. "Yes, but I do not want to bring a child into this world for fear of teaching it how to hate and exposing the depths of our mistrust." Madara lowered his hand. "Tobirama, I am saying this to be completely transparent with you. Out of every person in this entire village, I trust you the least, and I know that you feel the same way about me. Am I correct with my assumption?"

Tobirama crossed his arms and lowered his head. "Yes."

"Thank you for your honesty." Madara smiled softly. "With that said, I would like to make amends with you."

A breath hitched in Tobirama's throat as he was caught off-guard by Madara's words. "That… that would be ideal." The man said in genuine surprise.

"I do not want my child to grow up distrusting its uncle. I do not want it to be prejudiced against my wife's clan of origin nor do I want it to feel torn as to where its loyalties lie. I want you to be able to love my child as it is connected to you by blood. Not only that, but I wish for you to reach further and allow yourself to truly honor the Uchiha clan for the good we have done and not look at us with distaste. I want for you to be able to appreciate who we are, our next generation, and the generations to follow for as long as you shall live." Madara looked at him sternly. "And as for my clan, I will always teach my people to trust you. I will always do my best to honor you and your clansmen. I do not want there to be a rift within the very village that symbolizes the end of the warring states era. Most importantly, I do not want our children to be subjected to what we had to endure."

"I agree." Tobirama nodded. "Do you truly want to make amends?"

Madara met his gaze with an unfaltering resolve. "Absolutely. I will do my part and I will begin by trusting that you will do yours. For the sake of Reina and my child, for the sake of the village, and for the sake of the next generation, this is what I truly want."

Tobirama grinned. "I cannot believe that I am saying this, but I accept your proposal." He turned to face Madara. "Madara Uchiha, I will do everything in my power to mend this rift. I will protect your child as if it was my own. I understand your concern about a potential lack of power within the lifeline of the Uchiha clan but fear not. We will never chastise you for simply being, no matter how perilous the history is between us." He stuck out a hand. "I am deeply sorry for the prejudice I have harbored against you and your clansmen."

"As am I." Madara took hold of his hand and shook it with a grin. "Thank you for listening, Tobirama."

Tobirama nodded with a soft smile. "It was my pleasure."

Reina was in her usual spot, the library, curled up in her chair while reading a book. She was pulled from the pages as there was a knock on the door. "Come in!" She called.

The door slid open and Madara quietly stepped inside. "I hope I am not interrupting."

"No, I'm almost done with this book anyway." Reina gave a subtle smile. "What brings you here?"

"I wanted to talk with you about having a baby." Madara looked Reina in the eyes.

Reina met his gaze before lowering her head and snapping her book shut. "Yeah, sure." She stood up. "Mind if we talk on the porch? I need some fresh air."

"Not at all." Madara followed Reina outside and the two sat down at the edge of their porch overlooking their garden.

"Okay, what did you want to discuss?" Reina leaned back using her palms as support.

"Well, after our fight, I started reflecting as to why I was so upset about Mito's proposal." Madara looked out into the garden. "I recognized that I still felt prejudice against your clan and I feared for the future of my own. I know it is a terrible mindset to have, but it isn't unfounded. However, I wanted to put an end to that mindset once and for all."

"That's wonderful to hear," Reina said with slight intrigue.

"I spoke with Tobirama earlier today because I realized he was the person I trusted the least and harbored the most hate towards. He was rigid since childhood. He was a stark contrast compared to Hashirama when it came to accepting my people. He killed Izuna, my younger brother, my last sibling." Madara took in the green air of the garden. "However, we all have to move forward for the better. Tobirama also understands that I have committed heinous acts against the Senju clan. When we voiced this to each other, we both realized that we were facing the same demons."

Reina nodded. "I see."

"We both recognized our flaws and concluded that we wanted to make amends. We want the village to flourish and for our future generations to be at peace and feel the safety that we could only ever dream of." Madara turned towards Reina. "He was my biggest obstacle and I was his, and we have decided to overcome this together."

"I applaud you for your efforts and I appreciate you mending the rift between our families, but what does this have to do with the baby?" Reina furrowed her brows.

"Well, as I said before, I feared that with the distrust between our clans, someone, namely the Senju, would take advantage of a weaker clan head and mistreat my people." Madara turned towards Reina. "However, if Tobirama and I can banish our malice, theoretically there is nothing to worry about. I took his word for it and I believe that he will strive to be at peace with the Uchiha clan. That and he said he said he would love our child as if it was his own, which is more than I could ever ask for."

"So… you're okay with having a child with less potential power than us?" Reina sat up as she looked at him with shimmering eyes.

Madara took hold of her hand. "Yes… I would like to move forward with Mito's plan if that is what you still want to do."

Reina nodded. "Yes… Yes! Yes! One hundred times over, yes!" Reina threw her arms around him. "Thank you!" She softly exclaimed as tears of joy streamed down her cheeks.

Madara held her in a tight embrace. "I am sorry for causing you so much pain."

"Don't be… your actions made up for everything." Reina whispered as she rested her head on his shoulder. "Madara, thank you…"

Reina was standing in the center of the empty ANBU training room as it was large enough for the seal that was to be placed on her by Mito. She watched as Mito drew intricate symbols around her in her own blood. She was starting to look pale from the blood loss but was still moving efficiently. Hashirama and Madara were in the room with them in case anything went awry while Tobirama guarded the room from the outside.

Mito took in a deep breath. "Okay, Reina, I'm going to need your blood."

Reina nodded and opened both palms for Mito. "Go ahead."

Mito took out a kunai and sliced both of her palms open, earning a hiss from Reina. "I'm sorry, but it has to be deep to hit the artery."

"That's fine." Reina watched as blood gushed out of her hands. She walked around the seal with Mito as she swiped Reina's blood onto her finger like a brush stroking a color palette. Mito then wrote various symbols on the ground, intermingled with her original ones, and continued the process to complete the seal. By the time they had finished Reina was beginning to feel faint from blood loss. "Wow, this is more demanding than I thought it would be."

"It wouldn't be so bad if the seal wasn't so massive and complex." Mito chuckled weakly.

"You weren't kidding when you said it requires a lot of blood." Reina took in a deep breath to come to her senses. "I appreciate this. You have no idea."

"Anything for family." Mito smiled sweetly as she walked her to the center of the seal.

Hashirama jumped inside the center of the seal and his hands started glowing with a bright green chakra. "Let me heal your palms before you two bleed to death." He insisted and started healing Mito's hands first. Her wounds closed shut in an instant. "Reina, your turn."

Reina held out her palms and watched as Hashirama healed her. "I forgot how good your medical ninjutsu was."

Hashirama giggled. "It's been a while since I've needed to use it." Once finished he jumped back to where Madara was.

"Good call, Hashirama," Madara stated.

"Thanks!" He flashed a cheeky grin. "Though, I won't be surprised if they pass out after this."

Mito smiled at Reina. "Okay, I need you to lie down on your back with your stomach exposed. Keep your arms and legs together and do your best to keep them like that until everything is over."

Reina nodded. "Okay, will do." She tucked her shirt under her bra and lay down on the ground, bringing her arms at her sides and legs together. "Alright, I'm ready."

Mito stood above Reina with her legs shoulder-width apart. She focused her chakra and slowly brought her hands together. Once they met, she began weaving hand signs so quickly that everything was done in a blur. After making one thousand signs, Mito brought her hands together in prayer. She rested one knee down on the ground and keeping her left hand in place, she moved her right hand away and placed her open palm on Reina's stomach. Mito took in a deep breath and yelled, "Seal of Inari!"

The writing on the floor lit up bright pink as it migrated towards Reina's stomach. Reina's eyes widened as she could feel the burning sensation of the writing moving across her skin. "This hurts! A heads up would've been nice." She gritted her teeth as she did her best to maintain her position. The writing congregated on her abdomen as it formed a glowing spiral with various symbols surrounding it. The pink, glowing symbol dulled down until it was a plain black symbol you'd see written on a scroll

Mito lifted her hand and watched as the black seal faded away. "There… all… done." She said between pants. "How do you feel?"

Reina sat up and looked at her blank stomach. "That stung a bit, but thank you."

"Oh! Yeah, sorry I forgot to tell you." Mito rubbed the back of her neck. "Wow, I feel lightheaded."

Reina nodded. "Same."

Madara and Hashirama rushed towards the two women. "Are you two okay?" Hashirama inquired.

Mito nodded and stood up. "I'm just a little light-headed. Nothing some food and juice can't fix."

Reina looked up at Madara. "I want to eat and then sleep."

Madara chuckled and helped her stand up off the ground. "Sounds like a plan."

Reina stirred as the morning sun peeked through the blinds. She slowly sat up and swung her legs off the edge of the bed. She stood up and stretched, feeling her joints pop, crack, and crunch with every movement. Reina yawned as she sauntered downstairs, but snapped out of her sleepy haze as the sweet and savory smells of pancakes and bacon hit her nose. She sped up her descent and shuffled into the kitchen to see Madara making breakfast. "Morniiiiiing." She called tiredly.

"Good morning, Reina." Madara walked over to her and kissed her on the forehead before making his way back over to the stove.

"What's all this?" Reina inquired.

"We have a lot ahead of us today so I thought we could use a big breakfast to get us started with our day," Madara said excitedly.

"I don't remember the last time I saw you this chipper." Reina grinned. "What do we have going on today?"

Madara smiled. "Well, first we have a meeting, then we have the opening ceremony for the Ninja Academy, and then we have one more thing."

"Oh? What's that?" Reina asked with genuine curiosity.

"You… and me," He flipped a pancake in the air. "are going on a trip!"

"What?" Reina froze. "Wait… when? How? Why? Really? Wait… what?"

Madara snickered. "You and I are going on a much-delayed honeymoon where we can relax and retreat and do 'couple' things."

"Who are you and where is my husband?" Reina looked at him with a funny face.

"I am right here." Madara turned the stove off and pulled fruit out of the refrigerator. He began slicing up fresh fruit for their pancakes. "It's been a month since you had the Seal of Inari placed and we couldn't try for a baby until all of your blood was restored. That and we've been super busy and never got to go on a honeymoon."

"I never took you for the honeymoon type." Reina watched as he set up a plate of assorted fruit.

"I'm not, but you are and we both could use the vacation." Madara set the plates of food down on the dining room table. "Have a seat. What do you want to drink?"

Reina smiled with a slight blush. "Orange juice, please." She sat down and watched him come back with drinks and empty plates to serve themselves. "I appreciate all of this. I'm sorry for asking so many questions."

"If you didn't ask so many questions I would wonder what was wrong with you." Madara sat down at the head of the table.

"Thanks for the meal."

"Thanks for the meal." The two said in prayer before serving themselves.

"So, what about work?" Reina inquired.

"I got ahead a while back and kept it up until we were ready to leave." Madara smiled. "As for your work, I spoke with Tobirama and he agreed to do your work until we return."

"How long will we be gone for?" Reina poured syrup all over her pancakes.

"About one week." Madara took a bite of his fluffy pancakes.

Reina took a bite and her eyes widened. "Wow, these are good!"

"It was nothing." Madara grinned with the faintest blush. "Anyway, when you're done, hop in the shower and get dressed."

"I'll clean up the kitchen for you," Reina said sweetly. "After all, you made breakfast for us."

"No need." Madara pointed to the kitchen behind him. "I clean while I cook."

Reina gave him a pleased look. "I am smitten with you right now."

"A man who can't even do the bare minimum is a boy." Madara took a sip of his tea. "And a boy is not worth a woman's time."

"I approve of your logic." Reina chuckled. "At least if we have a daughter she'll have a great father figure to look up to."

Madara blushed even harder. "Y-you mean it? Th-thank you…"

After the two finished eating breakfast, Reina went upstairs and showered as told. She stepped out of the shower and dried off before wrapping the towel around her body. Reina walked into the bedroom and saw that both her and Madara's bags were packed for the trip. "W-what's this?"

"I packed all of your things so you don't have to." Madara kissed her on the lips. "I'm going to bring the bags downstairs. Come down once you're ready." With that, he picked up their bags and left Reina to herself.

Reina smirked and shook her head. "Holy shit I love that man."

Reina was dressed in her shinobi armor with Madara, Hashirama, Mito, and Tobirama. The five waited as villagers gathered around the newly built Ninja Academy. The lot was packed with shinobi parents and their children, expecting couples, and everyday villagers as they awaited the grand opening. Once the majority of the village had arrived, Hashirama stepped forward and began his speech.

"May I have everyone's attention?" Hashirama called. "It is with great honor that Madara Uchiha and I can bring to you the future of shinobi…!"

As the speech continued, Reina watched as Madara stepped forward to inform the crowd about the application process and where to go once inside. She watched him with a proud smile, knowing that he had come so far. Once their speeches were over, the crowd clapped before lining up at the double doors to the academy. Slowly, everyone filed in and was given personal tours by future employees.

Reina walked up to Madara and Hashirama who were standing by the application table. "Congratulations, you two! This is amazing!" She bowed respectfully.

"Oh, thank you," Hashirama spoke as the two bowed back. "Mostly everything about this academy was created by Madara. I couldn't have done anything without him."

Reina smiled. "Wow, so how many applicants are there thus far?"

Tobirama flicked through the papers on the desk. "So far? Eighty-seven."

"Really?" Madara looked stunned. "We've only had the doors open for twenty minutes."

"We did it!" Hashirama flashed a cheeky grin.

Time passed and eventually, everyone had left the ceremony. Reina, Madara, and the others all stood outside of the academy chatting about the event when Madara piped up. "Well, it's been a pleasure, but Reina and I have somewhere to be."

"Oh! That's right! Your vacation." Hashirama gasped. "Here I am talking up a storm and you guys have your trip to go on. I'm sorry!"

"You really can ramble, brother," Tobirama muttered. "Enjoy your trip, be safe."

Hashirama hugged the couple. "I miss you already!" He cried.

Mito sighed. "Hashirama, they're coming back."

"But I love them!" He cried harder.

Tobirama bonked him on the head with the applications in his hand. "Get a hold of yourself and let them finally leave!"

Hashirama reluctantly let go. "Fine. Stay safe you two!" He waved.

Reina giggled. "Bye, everyone!" She waved before taking hold of Madara's arm.

Madara walked her over to a carriage. The driver opened the door for them to get in. "Thank you," Madara said before he shut the door.

"I'm not gonna lie, I thought we were walking the whole way there." Reina chuckled nervously.

Madara snickered. "I would never do that to you. Rest up."

Reina smiled and leaned her head against Madara's shoulder as the carriage began moving. "Thank you."
