Chapter 14 Recovery and Preliminaries the hell!?
"Shikamaru" POV
Waking up in a bed that wasn't as comfy as I had at home I proceeded to sit upright for a second until the urge to hurl takes over me and I search for the nearest trash can as I head over and unleash the contents of my stomach even though I feel empty.
Letting go of the trash can after cleaning myself of some of the dribble I looked around the room it was one that had basic materials for people to live like a bed and table a alarm clock, books and many more things but with the walls and floors being made of stone made it feel like the…tower! So we did make it huh at least I'm not dead that's good though I don't know if I passed. Lifting my arm to stretch I smelled my armpit and recoiled at the scent. 'I need a Shower.' I thought disgusted with the way I smelt. I exited the room as l looked around the outside of my room to only see a multiple more stone walls with doors probably more rooms as I walked around some more and found a cafeteria with all my friends and Sensei there. I smiled though I passed the Cafeteria for a shower even though my stomach demanded food I continued as I eventually found a shower.
After Shower
Getting out with a new pair of clothes I brought with me as the last pair I just threw them in the trash as they were scuffed all over after the fight with Orochimaru. Making my way towards the cafeteria now gaining the attention of everyone there being the Siblings from the sand, Team 7, Team 8 and the rest of my own team. I waved akwardly as I went to go grab food though I felt someone approaching I turned to see Choji next to me with a tray. "Going for seconds this food isn't as good as the usual stuff but it's alright." I take his word for it as I grab hefty portions ready to fill my guts for all that I threw up. Sitting next to Ino that was in front of Sakura and either side of her was Naruto and Sasuke who were quite close to her though I chose to ignore the two as they were eating themselves.
"Hey Shikamaru-Kun are you alright you've been out for a day." My eyes widen so it's been a day so we're on the 3rd day hmm that's a problem. Or I assume maybe they got here on the 2nd day.
"Oh I'm not alright." Everyone's attention turned to me. "I'm fucking hungry as shit." At that I took a bite of a chicken leg I got as Sakura and Ino burst out laughing, Asuma-Sensei snorted and Kakashi-Sensei let out a Amused eye smile. I scarfed down the food as Kakashi-Sensei started to pick up a conversation.
"Hey Shikamaru have you gotten through the first book of Icha Icha yet." I heard Kakashi-Sensei say as all of Team 7's eyes shift to me.
"I'm halfway done I thought there was well over 300 pages but I was wrong they were quite long like in the 600's maybe more." Kakashi-Sensei nodded slowly.
"Why the hell are you reading that Book Shikamaru." All of Team 7 yelled getting everyone's attention from inside the room. I sweat drop and look around the room to see everyone staring there was a bunch of Chunin here too I mean they were restricted from leaving because of the Chunin Exams so they stayed here and in the left over rooms there was the Genin.
"Umm I started reading it then I got to liking it of how it's written and the RomCom elements there." I say wanting to just disappear at that moment.
"Oh I completely get what you're saying." Kakashi-Sensei giggled and had a weird xpr on the rest of his face as all eyes turn to me again. 'Kakashi you're a bastard' I sent a glare the silver haired man with gravity defying hair as he continued to giggle. I grumble in the corner when I see Sakura was wearing on of Sasuke's high collar shirts.
"Well Sakura I didn't think you would wear something from Sasuke." I smiled aiming to tease her as everyone just stared intriguingly.
"You do know wearing something with a clan symbol relatively means that you're associated with that clan in a way you know Sakura." A grin came on my face as everyone eyes who didn't know were wide eyed other than Sasuke who looked to the side embarrassed he'd been caught as he turned extra red.
"W-what?" Sakura said dumbfounded and Naruto getting the meaning jumped at Sasuke pulling back as he fought back inevitably caused a shouting match as Sakura couldn't do much but just look down with a blush.
"B-but this is really comfy…" Sakura said as her cheeks continued to warm up at the meaning. 'Why did he insist of wanting me to wear this.' Sakura looked at Sasuke the her face all but turned red as saw him fighting against Naruto on the floor.
"That's something." Ino said after finding her voice as Choji nodded while I smiled as I looked at her embarrassed face.
"Oi Sakura~ I could give you one of mine after all there some for my clan I mean we are friends." I close my eye and smile at her as she turned as she listened and proceeds to explode as I feel like she was smoking red as she limped as Kakashi-Sensei caught her with his hand. "Um Shikamaru that might have been a bit to much." Kakashi-Sensei said as he watched the two boys fighting and the girl experience a meltdown. I let out a chuckle and continue with my food before it gets cold.
"Shikamaru just to tell you you guys have about 3 days to wait in here that will give you guys enough time for you all to rest up and good on you for getting a shower." I gave a grin at him as he smiled back.
"Shikamaru Nara the Hokage has requested your presence." I flinched and looked to my side to see an Anbu there as I griped my heart at the scare and responded. "Could I finish my meal I'll be there in about 20 minutes or is it that urgent I need to drop everything?" I ask the Anbu with a dog design on it.
"You have 15" he pooped in a puff of smoke as I continue to scarf the food down even faster then my previous relaxed pace.
"Boys will be boys." Ino said as she exhaled and a smile came on her features. Until she realized she stared a bit to much at Shikamaru so she turned to look at somewhere else. A little blush appeared as she concluded that it was just that he was silly and she couldn't watch him anymore.
After finishing my food in about 10 minutes it took like 5 minutes to find the Hokage in these rooms as I soon found the room and greeted me.
"Hmm Shikamaru-kun. Do you know why I called you here." I just nodded although my memory about the sound Ninja is a bit hazy I do know that I killed them so…I wonder if Orochimaru would even be there during the preliminaries…if there was one as well during the second exam there was less people so who knows if we would even have preliminaries at this point.
"Yea I think you want to know everything about Orochimaru perhaps." The old man nodded his head as he waited for a response from me.
"Well I can assume what everyone else told but I think that he might be after Sasuke and his Sharingan Eyes or Body more like as the Sharingan implanted like Kakashi-Sensei can't turn off he might want to be a Uchiha to do that and not waste unnecessary Chakra." The old man nodded and asked for me to continue by waving his hand in a circular motion.
"Umm oh yea apparently those sound genin were hired to kill Sasuke as well." At that Hokage-Sama looked more intently at me trying to figure out if I was lying.
"Oh and where are these sound genin." Hiruzen asked as he had his pipe in his hand ready to light it himself with a small fire jutsu.
"Well if I remember they should be dead…unless there Zombies."I added the last part to sound more comedic and it worked as the Hokage gave a small chuckle.
"Well thank you Shikamaru-Kun especially for the information and I'm also sorry that you had to deal with such a thing once more." At that i tilt my head.
"Well it isn't common that a genin gets to have a battle with three S-Rank missing Ninja and love to tell it even hurting them as well." I blushed myself from the compliments as I look away.
"Yea well I wanted to protect my friends from them and something fueled me to protect them." I smiled knowing what it was as the Hokage himself smiled as well. 'This boy…truly had the Will of Fire…overtime that fire will turn into an Inferno and a pray to kami for the lord bastard to try to stop that inferno.' The Hokage thought as he let me leave the room with a smile on our faces.
Leaving the room after the talk with the Hokage I quickly went back to our room to get my belongings and sort them out before the preliminary's which are about 18 people with Kabuto who might leave to have 17 and one person would have a easy by. I wonder who.
Huh what about others I mean I didn't even pay any attention to Gaara though I know he was staring at me I just wanted to eat at that point so I paid him no mind. Makes thing more trouble because this guy crushes people with a pile of sand and I don't think I have anything fast enough to hurt him…other than Stitching Shadow Jutsu…oh I didn't think of that…maybe it's because I didn't think that I would learn it until the 3 years timeskip but now I have and am somewhat proficient and there still is one more trick I have regarding it so we'll just see who I will fight.
3 Days Later…
It's the time for the preliminary's to start umm and from getting here late as a result of having to take a hot dookie Kabuto resigned from the match he was supposed to be in as the randomizer on the tv screen flashed with all the names which had a format of {Name} VS {Name} as it was like a lottery machine as many names switched on the screen as the screen flashes through names and end in
{Shikamaru Nara} Vs {Tsurugi} I look at the screen google eyed at that it…wasn't predetermined so it actually was completely random…fuck….
Jumping down from the railing to see my opponent Tsurugi who was one of the forgettable Shinobi as Kankuro beat him I think he had the curling limbs around someone sooo…he would need to be closer so I'll end this quickly.
"Shikamaru Vs Tsurugi…are you two ready." Asked Hayate as he coughed a bit before seeing our nods as he starts the match with a hand that goes down.
At the start of the match I quickly pull out a Kunai as he runs towards me extending his limbs as I jump back and do the hand seal behind my back and throw my Kunai to his feet he obviously doesn't need to dodge but stopped running after a second. He was captured by my shadow very fast like so fast. Well we just stare at each other and I look over to Hayate but he doesn't do anything…'yea I need to make him submit.' Reaching through my pouch I grab a shuriken as my left hand went for it as he didn't grab anything and I juggled the Shuriken in my hand.
"We can play this the easy way or the hard one so choose one." Tsurugi looked like he was going sweat in beneath all the shit he's wearing but I saw he wasn't backing down so…
I went to grab a bomb tag this time I mean like what am I going to do with a Shuriken it doesn't do enough damage.
But there is something that when I mastered the Shadow Imitation Jutsu is that you could after a while of using the Jutsu could stop the equal attack so no longer if your opponent get hit you'll get hit. So I could hold him in the Shadow and explode him without consequence.
I threw it on the floor in front of him and formed my hand into the ram seal.
"I-I give up." Tsurugi said roughly as he was just quiet.
"Winner: Shikamaru Nara." Hayate stated as i released the Shadow and went to pick up my bomb tag from the floor as I make my way back to my team.
"Congratulations Shikamaru-Kun." I heard Sakura say as I pass her and I smile at her.
"Yea thanks and good luck with your match Sakura." I say as I turn my back to her and walk next to Ino and Asuma-Sensei.
"You did well Shikamaru." I nodded and Choji and Ino smiled at me. I tilted my head in confusion.
"Umm is there something on my face orrr." I heard them laugh and I blank not getting it.
"Hmm it's just that you look so different from we were in the Academy like seeing the lazy guy that always asleep more alert than I remember ever being in a lesson." I smile weirdly and they laugh at me more. This day is getting weirder by the moment…
We all looked at the blinking screen as it came to a stop showing two names.
{Subaku No Gaara} VS {Rock Lee} 'What the Fuck I mean it's supposed to be random and this fight is still happening. I overheard from Lee's side of the stands saying things about reverse psychology which is weird for him even though he is the embodiment of the word weird. Well I turn my attention to the battlefield as Gaara was already there waiting on Lee who jumped down and got into a battle stance.
"Are you two ready" Hayate said in between coughs. The two genin nodded as he lifted his hand and pushed them back down.
"Go"
Lee rushed at Gaara with what I think is at a high genin speed which is impressive as he has weights and no Chakra to mold which is surprising. He sent a punch at Gaara who just stood there and watched his sand automatically block it. He sent a wave of sand to retaliate after that first attack but Lee on his toes jumped out of the way and proceeded to attack a couple more times before grabbing at his Kunai strap for one.
He swiped at the sand only for another kick to be blocked by the sand. More sand came his way as he rolled out of the way until he used the momentum to get back into his feet but was caught off guard when there was still sand on his leg which dragged him slamming him into the wall as he fell onto the floor. He rolled from another wave of Sand as he ran back at Gaara.
"Why doesn't Lee get at a distance and use a Jutsu." I over heard Sakura say but Guy-Sensei had something to say about it though.
"It's because he has no inch of talent for either Ninjutsu or Genjutsu so the only thing he has is Taijutsu." Guy said as everyone there that didn't know looked at Lee a bit differently then before.
I tune back into the fight when I hear Guy-Sensei say "Take the weights off Lee" I heard many people question weights as he let go of the leg warmers and took off the weights on his legs. "Now I can move more freely now." Lee said as I saw Temari sigh at the hopelessness. "Removing a few pounds won't help you." She said but almost retracted her statement when the weights hit the floor causing dust to come up. At that Lee jumped to Gaara's side and punched at the Sand causing it to go away which startled Gaara as he moved again to another side to punch and make the sand disperse again as he kept doing it until he landed the axe kick on Gaara's head.
Lee backpedaled as he looked at his opponent who sent a full wave of sand only for Lee to move faster and strike Gaara on the cheek sending him a few feet away. Gaara landed roughly and took his time getting up as more sand from his gourd came out and started to cover his body.
At watching the display Gaara looked at Lee bored. "Well is that all" he had his arms crossed while looking at Lee who was still in his fighting stance.
Lee started to unwrap at his bindings as Gaara just stared as when Lee finished he stood in a new stance of his arms held out in front of him as he ran passed Gaara and started to run in circles around him before a kick sent Gaara in the air followed by more kicks sending him skyward until he wrapped the bindings around Gaara as he started spinning into the ground right before letting himself go and jumping away from the explosion. Primary Lotus.
I gasp at the damage to the arena at that one attack as they never really scope the damage to real life but seeing it, it looked as deadly as it probably felt. Looking back at the clear arena now was the empty shell of Gaara and a shocked Lee. From behind Lee, Gaara manifested as he was covered by sand as he used a handseal to send a wave of sand his way hitting him and landing roughly on the floor.
Before even Lee could get up he was barraged by more sand which almost made it look like a sand storm as more dust came flying in the air.
Lee while hitting the wall making a crater managed to continue dodging only by a bit before getting hit once again and punching the sand once more away. I saw the smile on Lee's face as hempseed again. I ignore all the talk as I continue to watch the battle until I saw Lee start to open the gates as he scales all the way to the 4th one making my eyes widened at the Chakra coming off him. He moved fast very fast that Kakashi-Sensei needed his Sharingan to see him accurately and so did Sasuke but his Sharingan couldn't see the boy either.
There was a multitude of hits and even Lee landing the Hidden Lotus and activating the 5th gate which didn't put Gaara away as he proceeded to crush his Left Leg and Arm until Guy intervened and stopped him from injuring his student anymore.
I couldn't tune in after seeing someone's ninja career get almost lost so I decided to look away. Even though I killed people I didn't want to paralyze them.
I tune out the rest until the sign of the TV glow again.
{Yoroi} Vs {Neji Hyuga} at that i blank the last fight was such a good match although a bit brutal but this match is a definite massacre and I just tuned this match out like what do you think this match would end.
I walk away as everyone stare at me but I wave them away I wanted to check something in the Cafeteria real quick.
Making it to the Cafeteria I looked around and I saw it I didn't see it the other days I've been here because I didn't really look for it but there was a Coffee Machine here…oh my god.
I walk back to the stands with a cup of Coffee as it was well proportioned with milk, sugar and cream that it flowed well together as I took swigs of the energy packed drink.
"So what did I miss." I ask as I walked back to where I was as everyone looked at me strangely.
"What I just found a Coffe machine here so after this I'm going to buy one after I like this one a lot…" they just blank at me before I saw on the arena Neji hit Yoroi unconscious as Hayate concludes the match.
The screen brightened again as Yoroi was taken away to the medical bay and Neji returned back to his team.
{Sakura} VS {Kiba Inuzuka} my eyes widen at the match up as I heard Kiba say something he shouldn't have.
"Hey look Akamaru we just got a little girl we have to fight this will be so easy." Kiba laughed and Akamaru barked happily though I don't think he felt multiple glares from Sakura herself, Sasuke, Naruto and Neji who caught himself and looked away.
"I'll show you easy punk." Sakura said under her breath. As she went down the stairs though I stopped her real quick.
"Good Luck Sakura but it's not that you need it." I smile at her and she radiates happiness and joy as I heard Naruto and Sasuke encouraging her further though they did stare at me warningly. I slowly back away from the two and return to my spot next to my team.
In the arena Sakura and Kiba stood on opposite sides of the arena as Kiba looked cocky while Sakura looked ready for business.
"Are you two Ready." Hayate asks once again as he puts his hands in his pockets. They both nodded and he raised his hand just as he lowered even a little bit Sakura pulled a kunai immediately signifying the start of the battle throwing at Kiba who dodged the attack before running himself after Sakura leaving Akamaru behind as his rush continued Sakura didn't move only until he threw a punch is where Sakura swiftly dodged out of the way before stepping on his foot making him recoil and giving him an uppercut sending him a bit farther back then he though a girl like Sakura could ever be able to do.
"How the hell!?" I saw Sakura smile and Kurenai look strangely as her student who she probably thought should be winning this by a landslide was pushed back so easily.
Kiba gritted his teeth before getting even angrier by all the cheers sent Sakura's way by Naruto, Lee and even the two quiet ones like Sasuke and Neji who shouldn't be even able to talk with how quiet they are.
"Well make short work of you Sakura!" Kiba then pulled out a pill that he gave to Akamaru which made him turn red and grow quite a bit while Sakura looked a bit strangely at the dog grow. I watch as Akamaru jumps onto Kiba's back as he says one more thing. "Beast Mimicry Clone" as Akamaru turned into Kiba, Sakura looked more alert as she twirled more kunai and shuriken in her hands ready to unload when needed. Kiba and the now transformed Akamaru ran at Sakura faster then Kiba did before as they closed the distance to her in seconds but able to still react Sakura threw her weapons in the air rebounding on each other implanting themselves right in front of there ways stopping them as Sakura grabbed a smoke bomb herself and threw it beneath her.
Moving forward Sakura ran at Kiba and Akamaru and having seen her a mile away Akamaru aimed a violent scratch at her chest only to have his hand sink in her for nothing to happen and another Sakura and another and more. Multiple Sakura popped out of existence out of the smoke as they all looked and were normal clones but Kiba didn't know which one was real as they started to walk into themselves. 'Just take my tactic huh Sakura' I smile at the tactic as Asuma-Sensei's eyes widened at the familiarity of this technique and how tricky it could really be.
"I've never seen the Clone Jutsu applied this way." Kurenai-Sensei said as she had her fingers pinching her chin as Shino and Hinata were looking over the railings worried for there teammate.
"Well Kurenai why do you think I got hit by a new genin huh." I saw Asuma-Sensei grin while I looked away from the man I knew something was bound to go wrong with him and Kurenai though again I couldn't help but watch.
Kurenai-Sensei just flicked a look full of annoyance at him. "What do you mean by that Asuma?" She said trying to sound polite in any way but failed as Asuma-Sensei walked up closer to her causing her annoyed attitude to grow.
"What so you're two teams just do everything together do you just have Kakashi train your kids!" My eyes widened I never seen such a woman like Kurenai angry like this as everyone on the stands look over as Kurenai then threw a punch only to be sidestepped and purposefully tripped by Asuma-Sensei who caught her….oh I now this maneuver alright because I told him about this when he asked me after Wave. What a bastard though maybe it'll help him avoid the fate of getting punched in the end.
Kurenai-Sensei laid back on Asuma-Sensei arm as he smiled sweetly at her and she blushed as his fingers raises her head to see each others eyes. "Hey I think you need to relax this is a test you'll have another chance just learn from this and become better than you already are…even though you're so beautiful already." Asuma-Sensei said sweetly as Kurenai exploded with red as I failed to cover my laugh letting it out for a second. Kurenai-Sensei got up on her own and stood by her genin still with a bunch of red on her cheeks as Asuma-Sensei returned to my side as everyone looked at him. I felt a touch on my shoulder as I saw Kakashi-Sensei gave me the bet money of Asuma-Sensei saying something about the advice a gave them both actually working.
"Hey I told you Icha Icha is the wave for this it's corny as hell but it hilariously works." I grinned and Asuma-Sensei gave me a fist bump and hugged me very tightly. "Ahh I love you kid." I chuckled and so did Asuma-Sensei as we returned our attention to the arena as Sakura dodged from one Kiba and an arm of Sakura's aimed itself for a strike but being faster then her at this point Kiba dodges the attack and Akamaru seeing this goes in for an attack but failed to no use she had more arms as one of the kikbs came flying at him and he dodged the first one but…it was a feint…a punch landed squarely on Akamaru's transformed face as he was sent flying meters back landing in a heap. "Akamaru!" Kiba growled at her and looked inside his pack and picked something out. 'Is that a soldier pill?' Sakura thought as she raised her eyebrows as he took it and felt his Chakra increase more than double than before.
It was now a battle with Kiba and Sakura now that Akamaru was took out of the picture by an Chakra enhanced punch from Sakura as they circled each other as they tried to look into the others eyes and try to intimidate each other but it didn't work as both Ninja jumped into battle both with kunai pulled out as a Kiba using a more aggressive and powerful style involving more physical strength against Sakura's perfectly practiced and graceful. One kunai would meet with another as more sparks came as Sakura swiftly and nimbly dodged a slash and incoming punch that almost knocked her south but she managed to step forward gaining the advantage as she landed a chakra enhanced punch at his abdomen sending him skidding backwards. He caught himself having flipped though it here was visible damage as the dog boy now looked with a lot more caution and hurt trying to not focus on the place she hit. Kiba growled at her as he got back up from where he was hunched over grabbing his stomach as he did a hand sign I didn't think he knew.
"Shadow clone Justu!" Kiba made a clone of himself and at the drop of a dime quickly ran at Sakura grabbing a smoke bomb and threw it to only have Sakura hit the bomb with a kunai exploding it as both Kiba's started to spin at high speeds coming towards Sakura together making two swirls of Kiba coming at her. "Fang over Fang!"
"How does Kiba know the Shadow Clone!" I said out loud as Kurenai-Sensei looked over having regained composure.
"Well when you have Kiba continue to pester you and ask and it gets annoying and I restricted him to one so he shouldn't do any more not like his reserves can do many more…" Kurenai looked back at the battle where she saw Kiba and his Shadow Clone circling eachother making a bigger attack as she saw Sakura wind back to punch them.
Sakura with more Chakra taking about 15% of her reserves brought her fist to the attack Fang over Fang causing a stand still of no one gaining the upper hand as the Kiba's kept pushing while also Sakura kept pushing her fist now having to continuously pump more Chakra into her fist to keep the struggle as smoke started to emerge behind the two as it started ti pick up more and more as in one last stroke using the majority of her Chakra Sakura pushed once more dispelling the clone Kiba by punching him into the original sending him skidding across the floor again not responding.
"Winner Sakura Haruno." Hayate said quickly as medics came with a stretcher in for Kiba having to pick up the unconscious boy.
Sakura shook her fist trying to regain feeling into it but in the end wasn't successful as she went into the medical room herself.
I had to ignore the constant shouts of support from Naruto and Sasuke for Sakura that entire time that I didn't even hear or remember what they said. They kinda reminded me of them rabbid Sasuke fan girls but less annoying and stronger. Which is kinda funny to see.
"Will the next combatants come!?" Hayate coughed loudly as everyone stared at the board which already came to a result.
{Choji Akimichi} VS {Hinata Hyuga} I tilt my head I never would have put them together in a fight…I wonder who would win I mean…speed might go to Hinata also precision as well but Choji has the pure strength to keep going soo…
Both fighters stared at each other ready for battle while Choji might have had problems fighting friends though over the Wave mission and many other times he's been pited against others so he's gone onto stop holding back and so he continued to fight without that gentle giant vibe but a gentle giant that can fuck you up…
'Again another power versus graceful match.' Really it was quite similar to the last one but the ability's between these two are almost completely different we'll let's just watch then.
"Are you two ready." Hayate asked as he got two head nodes and coughed again while he then dropped his hand and jumped away to get out of the way of Choji and Hinata.
At the start of the match Choji jumped back throwing a smoke bomb and multiple kunai at Hinata and after the first couple Miss her as she moved out of the way of the smoke bomb Hinata threw some kunai of her own to see a Choji flying from the smoke at her to completely go through her as his enlarged fist covered her entire body as she saw through it to see multiple Choji's running at them. Quickly activating her Byakugan and seeing and distinguishing the clones against the real Choji, Hinata ran around Choji to hopefully avoid an attack that may harm her as Choji could only enlarge his appendages so much. So he would need to get in range but not to close to Hinata or she could possibly pepper him with the gentle fist.
"You've got this you guys!" I heard Naruto say as I look over to him and then to Hinata who seemed to propped herself up more highly. She rushed at Choji making sure not to run straight at the boy or even move in a predictable path as he had to take a guess where she would be. Though Choji having an idea made handseals as Hinata reached him he screamed "Human Boulder Jutsu!" Choji expanded as Hinata was hit away skidding across the ground eventually coming to a stop as she looked up at the rolling boy coming rolling towards here.
She stood up slowly and smiled as she got into a familiar stance as Choji rolled towards her unaware.
"She's not going to…" I gaped at the girl who stood there ready my eyes were wide at this if she pulled this one off then…I don't even know!
"8 Trigrams…32 Palms!" She whispered the first part out as Choji got into her range as she landed the first palm strikes as she landed more and more stopping the boy and making him smaller as she landed an attack on Choji having fully shrunken that had sent him skidding a few feet away as he was still conscious as he smirked to pick himself up as he was laying face down . He tried many times but each time ended in failure as he stopped trying when Hayate announced Hinata as the winner as a stretcher came to pick up Choji.
"Hmm I guess all of our students have all least one of them in the finals." Kurenai-Sensei said breaking the silence as both Asuma and Kakashi-Sensei nodded focusing on there students.
The Tv flashed once more as everyone turned to face it as the names flash as the first one stops showing {Sasuke Uchiha} Versus and that's when the second name appears {Shino Aburame} I blink at the match up as Sasuke looks at Shino and Shiko responds by staring back with his goggles shining a bit.
They both quickly jump down as the balcony wasn't that far from the arena as it first seen as people were easily able to land there and not feel much Landing Lag or recoil.
"Are you two ready." Hayate said as he actually didn't cough this time though he does look like he would in a second. At the two's node he swipes his arm down signifying the start of the match.
Sasuke made the first move when he jumped away and activating the Sharinganas he looked at Shino. He knew not to underestimate and don't act overconfident and arrogant after the many times it's bitten him in the ass and when Sakura tells him started to finnaly learn that it's a good thing have someone overconfident for an opponent as they leave more holes thinking your not strong enough to capitalize and that's when you strike.
Sasuke looked at Shino and saw many different chakra signatures probably coming from his bush coming from inside him as he let out a couple of bugs as Sasuke looked outwards trying to scope them out.
'Those bugs from what I heard from the academy about there clan they eat Chakra and some even carry poisons as well…'Sasuke looked more serious as he locked eyes with Shino or his goggles as he began to weave through handsigns and stoped when he finished unleashing his technique.
"Fire Style: Phoenix Flower Jutsu" Sasuke shouted as he stop multiple blast of fire at Shino who swiftly dodged out of the was as Sasuke on the last of the blasts grabbed two kunai and threw them together in a fire blasts as they were disguised by the fire and hit each other sending a kunai towards an unsuspected Shino as it sunk into his chest. Sasuke smiled at this until Shino dispersed into multiple bugs.
'When did he?' Sasuke questioned as he took a look behind him to see the boy closing in on him very vastly as he trough a rough punch. Sasuke saw this a mile away but instead of catching it and retaliating he saw the bugs that littered on his arms and jumped away as he flashed through more hand seals.
"Lightning Style: ThunderClap Arrow!" Sasuke yelled as he hurled the justu at Shino who jumped back avoiding some of the attack but getting somewhat shocked in the process killing a couple of the bugs out in the open.
Sasuke barraged Shino with shuriken and kunai as he flipped over trying to conserve energy after taking that bolt of lightning as he grabbed at his own kunai and deflected or slashed them away as Sasuke prepared another Jutsu flashing through hand seals. "Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu." Sasuke shot a great ball of fire as he ran behind the ball waiting for Shino to dodge and connect another justu he was doing seals for. Shino jumped to the right and figured he was in the clear until Sasuke came from the smoke having his palm covered in lightning. "Lightning Style: Lightning Palm!" Sasuke slammed his palm implanting it into his stomach making the boy have to cough and him to there after shake as the lightning ran through him as he skidded onto the ground.
Sasuke looked at his hands and saw bugs on them as he spread the jutsu towards his wrists killing the bugs eating his Chakra as he watched cautiously at Shino who tried getting up but fliched back due to the lightning still being in his system.
"I-I yield." Shino said as he laid on the floor face up as he continued to let the Lightning in his body filter out through his bugs eating the Chakra.
"Winner Sasuke Uchiha" Sasuke smiled and deactivated his Sharingan as he looked up at the stands to look for one specific face. He saw the joy and excitement in Sakura's face and a very obvious sense of pride coming from her to him. He smiled and looked down to not show his face smiling as he walked back up trying to hold onto his persona in public.
"You did amazing Sasuke-Kun" Sasuke heard Sakura say as he looked up to her and saw the smile she had on her face that made him radiate a small blush and joy erupted into him.
"Yea well I couldn't live with myself f you were at the final stage alone…Sakura-C-Chan" he still had trouble saying the last part as he was not accustomed to all formalities and the like even though he was raised by the head of his clan.
"Well Shikamaru-Kun would be there but I appreciate you thinking about me…makes me happy you think of me as your friend." Sasuke turned aggravated upon hearing the guys name why did Sakura-Chan always have to bring him up…
Seeing the improvement in Sasuke made me smile even though I can't directly help them I am able to help them still through many ways like parting ideas as I heard from Sakura that Kakashi-Sensei was teaching them about there natural element release and he got the idea off seeing me train so having to inspire people is what I have to do to get them to improve then that's what I should do.
Taking a short look at the now off TV screen as it turned on flashing through all the remaining names.
{Ino Yamanaka}VS {Naruto Uzumaki} oh shit not the MC why did she have to fight the guy that pulls shit out of his ass!?
I saw Ino bite her lip as she looked at Naruto who looked pretty excited for his match to go on as he immediately jumped the railing landing on the floor. Ino herself went down the stairs tensely as fighting someone with as much Chakra as Naruto and with her capabilities was pretty hard to gain a win especially after him seeing a number of her techniques…
"Are you two ready." Hayate said as Ino got into place looking across from the still smiling Naruto who pumped his fist into the other palm making a sound unpleasant from Ino's ears.
Both genin nodded as Hayate lowered his hand and jumped back at the call of "Shadow Clone Jutsu" coming from the orange wearing blonde. 20 clones appears of Naruto as they all stared at Ino as she made the first move grabbing a handful of kunai and shuriken as the clones caught wind and started to flash through hand seals.
"Wind Style: Gale Palm." They all yelled in unison as Naruto pushed his palms of the clones shoting the air at Ino not only to send the weapons flying back at her scraping her in many places but to blow her away with the air blasting her way as she flipped back trying to stabilize herself. "Naruto Style." Again Naruto said as Ino looked up to see a Naruto clone launch at her peformijg some hand seals in the air as it came at her fast and hit her with a palm to her stomach. "Clone Launch!" The clone said as it activated the Gale palm in his hand sending Ino flying from the pressure as she spat out a bit of blood mixed in with some of her spit.
She was sent skidding back once again as the Naruto's looked over her again as they jumped in the air to hopefully ambush her and end the match.
Ino grabbed a explosive tag from her pouch and laid it on the ground just as she waved through one of her last hand seals and yelling herself showing her passion. "Substitution Jutsu!" She swapped places with a Naruto clone next to two others as Ino sent a punch and kick to both dispelling them both as the 15 Naruto clones blew out leaving Naruto with 3 clones. Naruto had his eyes wide as he didn't expect she would do that at all. Then now Naruto created 5 more clones as Ino gritted her teeth as she watched from her spot as she looked annoyed at not having touched the blonde boy yet.
Ino made sure she knew water style jutsu as she had have to find someone teach her she didn't really know of anyone who had the water chakra nature so that left her with one of two things. Learn water ninjutsu at a later time or remember what she saw Haku do back at Wave. She would always exercise and train during the week and many times she had seen multiple water jutsu's but with her just starting to work on her water affinity she couldn't learn those jutsu's yet…yet…
"Water Style: Water Senbon." Ino repeated as she remembered what Haku said about having to use the water in the air to materialize the water to make the senbon.
Many of the senbon came at Naruto who dodged via the clones grabbing him and throwing him out of the way of the jutsu as he got up roughly having to see Ino hands conjoined together as she said one last thing. "Mind Body Switch Jutsu." Ino said as she shot her consciousness onto Naruto as it hit him dead on not having the time to react they both fall unconscious. There was silence until Hayate looked up onto the Hokage looking for his evaluation of the situation.
Hokage-Sama looked a bit worried but put on a fake façade as he looked at the genin as he made a decision. "Whichever of the genin get back on there feet first shall be considered the winner…" everyone stayed quiet as some like me wanted Ino to win and some like Sasuke and Sakura wanted the opposite.
'C'mon Ino get up.' I shouted in my head
Inside the Subconscious of Uzumaki Naruto…
'Where am I' Ino thought as she looked around what seemed to be like a sewer and a giant one at that. She kept looking around until she saw a Naruto falling upwards? He came from the water underneath her but she didn't fall down… strange.
"Naruto do you know where we are." Ino asked Naruto as he got up and examined the place himself and had no idea himself.
"I have no clue either Ino…" Naruto himself took a quick gander around his surroundings as he heard a voice a deep and disturbing voice interrupting the two of them.
"It seems that my jailor as come to pay me a visit" A rather dark voice said as Ino and Naruto looked in the direction to see a cage and mot just a normal cage but a gigantic one with a seal pattern holding it together.
"Y-you must be the." Naruto didn't get to finish as the mysterious being snarled at him.
"Human Let Me Out!" The now revealed Nine Tailed Fox raged inside the cage finding his container an utter Buffon before head butting the gates not having them budge a bit. Ino backed away scared at seeing such a beast as Naruto looked alarmed himself until he curled his fingers in to his hand making a fist as he yelled back.
"Why don't you shut your Trap big old fox!" Naruto Yelled as he the pointed at the fox as it snarled at Naruto.
"Wait Naruto are we inside your consciousness and the nine tails is here!?" Ino said terrified.
"Y-yea…I had the kyuubi sealed inside me when I was born…" Not knowing what to say Naruto just told her and looked away sad he was about to lose a friend of his though she was a barely made friend as they spent more time in the forest of death but he considered her a friend.
"H-how…who did this to you Naruto?" Naruto was shocked at her as tears came out of his eyes at the thought of Ino freaking out and calling him a monster.
Ino before getting put on Team 10 would have immediately would have frozen at the sight of such a beast the nine tailed fox in a cage with Naruto in his consciousness meant he was a monster right. Ino's first assumptions was that Naruto was the Nine tails incarnated but looked at the bars more closely. They looked like a sealing pattern and she remembered something strictly about this back in the academy explaining about sealing.
"The basics in the sealing arts is just putting something big and 'sealing' it into something smaller" explained Iruka-Sensei as he pressed his hand on a scroll on his desk as a puff of smoke came showing everyone that a neat stack of paper came out.
Yea I remember Naruto, Shikamaru, Choji and Kiba skipped that class. Those doofuses…
"It was the fourth…" Naruto said looking at Ino as he sat down in the water as he quickly realized it and quickly stood up looking down at his soaked clothes. Ino laughed at his silliness as she looked at Naruto then at the giant nine tails trying to intimidate them in the distance.
'Naruto is like it's jailor…Naruto is like a hero but people don't see it that way and they probably see him as the nine tails.' Ino started to remember all the glares from the villagers she saw him get as she turned to him trying to squeeze out the water even though it was in his consciousness. Though she did grab at her chin and started thinking.
'That monster has a brain one that can talk to us so…maybe it could be reasoned with….? Is that…even possible…I can tell by the looks the giant fox gives us that it definitely smarter than it let's on.' as it was staring at the sealing that held as a lock.
"Hey Naruto" Ino got Naruto's attention as he turned to her awaiting something to be asked.
"Have you ever talked to the fox before?" Ino sakes really trying to find any info. Naruto thought about it and shake his head side to side in declining fashion.
"Well the Fox has an agenda…but shouldn't you two try getting along…" her voice echoed in the sewer as Naruto eyes widened while the fox himself caught the words differently as he looked at the girl and then at Naruto…his jailor.
"Theres is no way I could work with That!/ There is No way in the Sage of Six Paths I would get along with such a snot nosed Buffon!" Both Naruto and the Fox yelled out in rage and while Naruto pointed at the Fox having an exasperated look on his face. The fox themselves pointing his snout in Naruto's direction.
Oppose to being scared at voices yelling she didn't budge but had a blank face at how similar there answers where and also how much they did not like each other.
"Wow Naruto is he your spirit animal or something because you guys litterally said the exact same thing…" Ino straight face kept as Naruto and the Fox eyes each other and turned defiantly like some children.
"Well Naruto…other than that hmm…Hiyaa!" A scream took off as Ino punched Naruto in the face breaking his concentration as he looked puzzled at why.
"Wait why did you do that Ino!?" Naruto screeched as the Fox in the background just laughed at the boy. Naruto sneered in anger at the Fox no longer feeling fear to the furry douchebag as he will call him as he looked back at Jno who had a smile on her face.
"Well we still have a match to settle and since this is your mind scape I say a rule of only Taijutsu and if you beat me I'll give up." Ino said as she got into a stance as Naruto brushed the blood from his nose away as he had on a new found smirk implanted there as he got into a stance of his own as the two rushing genin clashed making the water underneath them raise by the minute detail.
'Hrrgh I guess this is my entertainment.'
Naruto and Ino threw a punch but with Ino dodging and Naruto narrowly dodging as Ino started with a roundhouse kick that got him rough on the stomach sending him a bit back.
He got back up and rushed at Ino while she took a defensive position as Naruto threw only seeing a bit of other people's styles melded his own way of throwing punches that sometimes more than not didn't work but this time with a person weaker than him he managed to grab hold of her forearm as she looked alarmed as he swung her like dead weight using his Chakra to excel his strength has he slammed her onto the ground and jumped ready to stomp on her but Ino rolling out of the way just in time for a sweep kick from where she was on the ground to slip him up. He fell from her foot lodging itself into his knee bending it to not support his weight and with the other leg she brought it up and slammed it down onto Naruto but he caught the leg and aimed a punch at her that was caught by Ino. Ino then struggled to get up with the others hand gripping hardly at each other until Naruto head butted her causing her to stager back and accept a punch to the face which knocked her out as she disappeared from the sewer when she hit the floor.
"I won…I Won!" Naruto cheered into the emptyness and darkness that started it consume him as he woke back up on the ground as he quickly picked himself up and took a look at Hayate who looked worried but overall he announced the winner.
"Winner: Uzumaki Naruto." Naruto smiled as he went to Ino and picked her unconscious body up and held her up to the stretcher as she had a smile on her face. She may not have won but she helped her friend concur an inner demon of his. Telling his closest friends his secret won't get them to hurt him not if they truly cared for him.
Only a couple of seconds had passed for everyone watching after the Hokage's announcement is when Naruto opened his eyes and got up slowly as Hayate raised his hand declaring Naruto the winner. Though I did catch a sneak peek at Ino who was having a slight smile on her face and at that I knew nothing bad happened so I sighed in relief as Asuma-Sensei looked at Naruto intently but more curious more than anything.
Kurama shouldn't even be doing anything because of the seal so she might have gotten a scare but that does mean Ino knows about Naruto being a jinchuriki.
What ever I run my hand through my hair as the seconds went on as Naruto walked up to his team and they celebrated being all in the finals of the exams.
Now It was me and me alone getting into the finals with Hinata on Kurenai-Sensei's squad…this shit isn't fair there the MC the fuck…eh I should complain it's happened and I want to yell to let out the stress but feeling the people around I restrain myself.
The board quickly flashed as three names quickly went it was Tenten, Temari and Kankuro and one of them was getting a free by which makes the final exams even number of people so having Kabuto quit here was a good idea. Or not I may be an idiot but there are but…yea someone still gets a by because of Kabuto…fuck I'm dumb as shit…

"Winner: Subaku No Temari" Hayate coughed as Temari had Tenten on her fan as she flicked the injured girl off it onto the floor as a stretcher came from another medic. I stare absentmindedly as it was the exact same fight in the original. Tenten got obliterated in that battle…well yes Temari is about a normal Chunin level ninja she's still considered a genin yet both her and Kankuro's skills equal to Chunin for that matter. Oh yea didn't they get like switched teams to be with there little brother. I think I don't really remember really.
As I start to look randomly to the ceiling questioning unnecessary things that don't need to be questioned I just sigh again. I've been doing it a Lot today. A flash from the board alerts everyone to there matchups for the Finals in a month.

All Matches were randomized through a wheel because…why not it's a lot more fun that way and truth be told that Lee Vs Gaara was a pure coincidence that happened and the Final Matches where all randomized as well.
