Two

"Have a good day guys!" Shina called from the driver seat of the black car. James thought her smile was a bit too mischievous for his taste. "Make friends!"

"Okay." Kana called as she shut the door to the back of the car.

"Do we have to?" James asked as he got out of the passenger side of the car. Shina gave him a long suffering look but before she could respond Yuto came to her rescue.

"It would be easier since we'll be here for this year." Yuto came to a stop beside James. James sighed as Shina beamed.

"Exactly! Have fun and don't kill anyone!" Shina waved before she drove off. The three Nara siblings stood in front of the large blue UA High School entrance for the second time within a week. James briefly wondered how they were going to be able to work this assignment the way they'd been told to do. He had full confidence they would be able to but he wasn't sure how this would go. It's not like they'd ever gone undercover for something like this before.

"Anyone have any inspiring words for this?" Kana's voice sounded tired and over this entire mission.

"If we screw this up we don't have to stay?" James tried, faking false cheer in his voice.

"If we do mess this up Shina will put us in the Hashi?" Yuto chirped. James internally flinched at the reminder of his red-haired cousin's fury. They'd been given a mission and if they didn't complete this, while it would not be good for them in the long run, Shina would be disappointed. Plus there was the added blackmail thing that made this necessary for their futures.

"Okay..." Kana seemed to be giving herself a pep talk before she spoke up again, "We got this guys." Kana jumped in front of them with determination in her eyes. "It's not going to be any worse than that time we went to Egypt, at least here we don't have to worry about any hidden traps."

"I would prefer the crocodile infested waters of the Nile." James drawled. Kana rolled her eyes.

"Come on, J. Yuto? Any energy you can give would be preferable to J's negativity." James glared at Kana who held a smug look on her face. James looked at their younger brother who seemed to be thinking it over.

"Well, this could be fun? I mean, who knows, we could like it." He shrugged. "We get to see Heroes? I mean I know we constantly mess with them when we go out, but this is going to be different. We get to have a conversation with them."

"What would we even ask them?" James asked.

"I don't know." Yuto cried sounding annoyed. "But if we keep talking out here we're not going to go in there," He indicated UA's large building. "And we won't meet anyone! That would defeat the point of this whole 'making friends' thing." James had to hand it to his little brother, he had a point. He and Kana shared a look before they eventually started walking inside the entrance. James didn't notice anything out of place from the first initial inspection of UA last week.

He did notice that everyone was in a hurry to get to their classrooms. They weren't late but James figured they were very conscientious about being on time for class. Especially if this school was a top-tier school like it claimed to be. James followed his siblings as they travelled through the building, going upstairs and down the hallways until they came to the classroom 1A. Not many students were in the room yet but this was fine as it allowed the siblings to get a seat in the middle of the classroom. Yuto was in front of Kana's desk while Kana was in front of James who sat at the back of the room. It was a perfect spot to nap as it wasn't too close to the window and wasn't too far from the A/C vents. James plopped down into his desk, pillowing his head on his arms to get comfortable for a small nap before class.

"Hello, I'm Kaminari, Denki." James' ears twitched at hearing the boy's voice. He glanced through his lashes and saw a blond boy with a black lightning bolt on the side of his head talking to Kana. She gave a friendly smile.

"Hello I'm Nara, Kana. Nice to meet you."

"I'm Kirishima, Eijiro." A red-haired boy on her other side introduced himself second later. "Nice to meet you Kana." James narrowed his eyes, glaring at them both when they looked at him. "Uh, nice to meet you?" Kana turned her head and saw him glaring. She rolled her eyes before glaring at him making him look away.

"Sorry about him. That's my brother Nara, James. And this is my other brother Nara, Yuto." Kana introduced.

"Oh wow, are you guys triplets?" The red-head asked. James refused to use the boy's names out of spite.

"No, we're actually cousins but we've lived with each other so long we just say we're siblings." Kana explained patiently.

"Are you American?" The blond-haired boy asked. "I've never seen anyone with your coloring before." James mentally snorted at how that came out. He guessed the blond was a short a few brain cells to say it that way.

"Yeah we're originally from North America." Kana stated simply.

"How did you guys come to Japan?" The red head asked. James was getting a bit irritated at all the questions. Or maybe it was just the boys talking to Kana that got him feeling grouchy. He'd been told by Kana and Shina before he was too overprotective of them. Not that it ever stopped him or Yuto from discouraging any males to talk to their cousins. Speaking of Yuto, why wasn't he putting a stop to this?

"Oh, cool feathers dude." Yuto spoke. James glanced over to who he was talking to, a bird haired boy with black feathers. Figures Yuto would find an emo, James thought.

"Thank you. I'm Fumikage, Tokoyami. And you are?"

"Oh, I'm Nara, Yuto." James closed his eyes and pretended to fall asleep while also listening to everyone that came in. With his enhanced hearing he was able to listen in on the conversations that occured around him easily.

About 15 minutes later James was disturbed when he heard a louder and more stern voice reprimanding someone. When James looked up he saw who it was. He watched as the obvious teachers pet yelled at the blond troublemaker to get his feet off the desk. James couldn't help but snort at the first impression the blond was giving off. He was rude and disrespectful and seemed like it was the top Hero despite only being a student still. It wouldn't matter as James was hoping the year would show what every one of his classmates was made of, but looking at the blond carefully, James felt the familiar itch of competitiveness start to come to life. Maybe it would be good to make a rival instead of a friend. At least James could have fun knocking him down a peg.

The classes attention was pulled to the newcomer who just entered when the door slammed open. James assessed him before dismissing him as unimportant. There weren't a lot of strong looking players here, but he had a few holdouts he wanted to vet.

"If you're just here to make friends than you can pack up your stuff now." James's ears perked at the dry voice beyond the door. A grown scruffy man in a yellow sleeping bag appeared. James had to stifle a snort as he saw just how scruffy and worn out the man looked. "Get changed and let's get a move on." The man ordered.

"He looks tired." Kana murmured to him as they followed everyone to the changing rooms.

"Appearances can be deceiving." James reminded her in a low tone.

They got changed into their gym clothes and met their teacher, Shota Aizawa, outside to a baseball field.

"I'm going to have you all do a Quirk Assessment test." Mr. Aizawa stated. James perked up at hearing this. He hadn't been looking forward to the orientation stuff and this was a nice change of pace in his opinion. He heard some of the students complain about that fact, but he merely listened as Mr. Aizawa explained how things were going to work. He called forward the blond called Bakugou and tossed him a softball to throw.

James paid attention as the blond stretched before he threw the softball with a loud explosion of power. James smirked as he realized he'd been right about the boy's power levels. Kana saw the grin on his face and sighed.

"Oh great. You found someone to challenge haven't you?"

"Yep. This is going to be fun." James purred. Kana rolled her eyes before she focused back on the teachers monologuing. James couldn't help it as his energy started to rise as Aizawa got them all into position for the eight placement tests.

The 50-yard dash wasn't an issue for him as he ran daily. He was up against the blond Bakugou right off the bat. James smirked as the gun went off and he tore down the raceway on all fours. His claws dug into the ground helping to launch him forward faster while his legs practically had him flying several feet. Bakugou used his explosions to launch himself off the ground and towards the finish line. James passed the finish line at 4.01 seconds while Bakugou passed it at 4.13 seconds. James felt his tail flick when he noticed Bakugou glaring at him.

"You got a problem boom boom boy?" James asked as he straightened up to give him an unimpressed look.

"Tch, furball." James felt his ear twitch in annoyance.

"Don't call me that you blond terrorist." James hissed. Bakugou and he glared at each other, lightning seemed to form as they glared at each other.

"Knock it off." Yuto called as he came over to physically drag James away from the blond angry boy. "You're going to make Kana mad at you."

"I don't care he called me a furball." James raged.

"So beat him in the next subject." Yuto stated simply. "Don't start a fight." James growled under his breath but turned away from the terrorist to focus on the next test. The Grip strength test was simple. James was able to grip the equipment device with 70kg. Kana he saw did 50kg while Yuto was the same. He figured both his siblings didn't want to be showoffs and do anything too showy. The Standing Long Jump was pretty good for James as his body was good at jumping so he wasn't disappointed. Kana just used her portals to open a portal when she was descending to teleport herself to the other end of the jumping range. Yuto gave it a good effort and used his shadows to form a pole to help him jump further by pole-vaulting.

The Repeated Side Steps were embarrassing. James would deny enjoying this exercise at first as he was able to use his already powerful leg muscles to hop from one side to the other. He glared murderously at Kana when she dared to pull out a mirror to reflect sunlight, making him pounce after it. He got a good laugh when Kana tripped while doing her side steps. The glare she gave him had him pretending he was elsewhere while Yuto snorted at him.

James did okay at the Ball Throw with 50 meters. Kana cheated and manipulated the ball to fall through a few portals until it had built up enough speed to get to 348 meters. Yuto didn't bother to use his shadows to throw the ball to 48 meters. James was a bit interested at how unhinged Bakugou got at seeing the green haired boy's quirk. He wondered what the story there was.

"Any idea what that's all about?" He asked Kana as they watched the drama unfold. Mr. Aizawa had to hold Bakugou back with his bandages.

"I'm not psychic you know." Kana stated. He saw her hesitate. "But if I had to guess, they've got history and I don't think it's good."

"It wouldn't be high school without the drama." He murmured. Kana snorted. James had to snicker at how Mr. Aizawa's quirk gave him dry eye. He wondered at the full extent of his teachers Quirk before he put it to the side to focus on the rest of the fitness test. The sit ups portion wasn't exciting. James was getting lazy and took his time doing the sit ups. He did okay at 100 sit-ups, a nice and even number by his standards. Kana he saw copped out at 80 while Yuto continued to 200. He snorted at seeing Yuto's boundless energy levels being channeled for 'good'.

The Seated Toe Touch was easy. After all the exercise James was more flexible than normal. Flexibility was part of his cat-like reflexes already allowing him to bend his body into impossible angles, so the fact that his muscles were nicely worked out meant he was able to bend his body in half further than everyone else without any difficulty. Kana did the stretch without cheating and managed to touch her toes without much difficulty. Yuto did about the same.

The Distance Run was last. James was good at running and did okay at 5 miles. He could have gone farther he knew but he didn't want to overdo it. Especially since it didn't really matter much. Kana cheated her way through the run by running through her portals. Yuto merely jumped in his brothers shadow and stayed there until James stopped running. He dodged James play punches when he popped out of the ground.

By the end of the class James was sure he and his siblings were in a good place for the assessment test. He was proven right when Aizawa showed the results and James was 7th place overall. Kana came in at 13th and Yuto was 12th. He knew they weren't really phased by their placement so long as they weren't last.

"That was fun." James stated as he and his siblings headed to the changing rooms. "Gonna have to let Shina know that we don't have to do our afternoon training."

"I'll text her." Kana stated with a sigh.

"Maybe we should start on that 'making friends' thing." James stated as he looked to the side seeing Yuto talking with the dark feathers bird boy. Kana saw what he was looking at and smiled.

"You know Yuto. He's always been good at making friends. Especially the emo ones." James hummed in agreement.

"I'll see you after we get changed." Kana stated. James nodded.

Walking away from UA High later that afternoon James wondered if the rest of the school year would be this easy. He didn't think it would be considering this was one of the Top 3 Hero schools in Japan, but one could hope.

The next day came bright and early for the three Nara members as they waited for Mr. Aizawa to come into the classroom. The schools orientation packets explained the curriculum better than the welcoming packets had. In the morning the students were subjected to the regular classroom work that all schools taught. English, Mathematics, History, etc. All subjects were taught by different teachers that James was honestly surprised at them holding degrees for in addition to their Hero licenses.

They did have a good grasp of the subjects they taught though. English with Present Mic was interesting. Kana and Yuto were quickly grabbed by their friends and invited to lunch. James wasn't looking forward to being too friendly with anyone, but he did end up talking with a girl named Yaoyarozu, Momo.

"How are you liking UA High so far James?" Momo asked. James could tell from her accent and the way she held herself that she was most likely from an affluent family. James didn't normally see someone's 'breeding' as clearly as Momo but from what he'd gleaned, she wasn't stuck up and didn't look down on anyone. It probably helped that he was from a rich family also. Technically. The only difference was, they'd stolen their fortune. James shook himself out of his mind to answer her.

"It's pretty great. I've been home schooled for the past 5 years so being back in school feels pretty weird." James stated as he grabbed a piece of sushi. "Good sushi."

"You were home schooled?" Momo asked between bites of her rice. "I was as well before my parents transferred me to my previous school. They figured it would be good for me to have friends before I came to UA." James caught the slight sadness to her smile as she looked down. He guessed none of them had joined UA High like she had. He swallowed his fish before he spoke.

"We move around a lot for my sisters work." James said. "Well, she's actually my cousin sister but it's easier to just say we're brothers and sisters. She's had to transfer from one place to the next so we don't usually get to make friends for long."

"What does she do?" Momo asked interested.

"She's acquires data and plans for clients." James shrugged. "I don't really pay much attention. Pretty boring stuff but it pays her well."

"And your parents?" Momo asked. "What do they do?" James wondered how far their lies would extend. He'd already mentioned Shina and she was listed as his primary guardian through the school. They no doubt had the guardianship papers on file but he doubted they cared about his parents info. He could make up fake parents but that road led down a far more complex web of lies than he was comfortable with travelling down. He opted for the truth instead.

"They died when I was a kid."

"Oh, I'm so sorry." Momo got a pitying expression on her face that James disliked. He waved away her apology.

"It's fine. Really. It's been a couple years and honestly? I don't really remember them much." That was a lie. He remembered them and the time he had spent with them, but talking about them didn't hurt as much. He had Kana, Yuto and Shina, he didn't need any other family. James forced himself away from that philosophical line of thinking to ask, "What do your parents do?" Momo started talking about her father's business as a high-profile lawyer as well as her mother's job as a part time doctor and volunteer worker. Momo seemed like she adored her family and James had to give her credit for that dedication. James didn't really like the rich hoity- toity types but Momo was different. She was sincere and passionate about talking about her family and friends, there wasn't an ounce of a lie in her tone. He didn't mean to but she kind of reminded him of Shina if Shina was less sarcastic and he could feel himself easily thinking of Momo as a friend.

By the time lunch was over James was already thinking of Momo as a friend. They exchanged cell numbers to text each other later.

"Good lunch?" Kana asked when he flopped back into his seat in the classroom.

"Good sushi." He responded licking his fangs. "I may end up leaving Chef Wolfe for their sushi here." Kana snorted.

"Better not let him hear you say that. One wrong word about his cooking and he's going to go on strike." James yawned.

"Any idea what we're doing next?" He asked.

"I AM HERE!" James flinched at the loud voice of All Might as he, embarrassingly, entered the classroom leaving the other students shocked and whispering in awe at seeing the Number 1 Hero.

"Uh…"

"Grab your outfits kids and get changed. We're going to be working in a simulation training today." And just like that he was gone.

GM NASAI: Hello lovelies! ANOTHER CHAPTER IS HERE! Sorry All Might's excessive energy reminds me of Might Guy. I think it's the use of the word 'might' in the name that causes the loud energy they have. Anyway, hope you all enjoy!
