Chapter 9 – School Lives of the Other Two

Misao's POV

The rest of Golden Week went by in a flash. And soon, we were back in school again. I didn't want to come back…but Ayano managed to bribe me by saying that we'll get more cake from Harajuku after school.

And while I was happy that we were getting more cake, I felt pretty stupid for letting my sweet tooth get the better of me again.

Maybe I should get this thing removed…

"Misao…hey, Misao…"

"Huh?" I was suddenly brought out of my train of thought. "Oh…hey, Ayano. What's wrong?"

"Weren't you listening? I was asking if you did your homework over the holidays?"

"Oh…"

"…No. I didn't. I don't think I even started."

"*sigh* Figures coming from you…" Ayano gained a sweatdrop.

"Why does it matter, anyway? I'll just copy off of you and get it over with as always."

"I'm asking because I didn't do it, either."

"Seriously?!" I yelled in shock. "But you always do you work. What made today so different?"

"Well, it was probably the amount of times you made us cuddled together naked underneath a warm blanket while watching anime reruns all day everyday."

"O-Oh, yeah…" I gained a sweatdrop of guilt.

"*sigh* Whatever. One zero isn't gonna screw me over. But you really need to start taking your grades seriously, Misao. Track ain't gonna save your ass."

"Yeah, yeah. I know."

"Morning, you two…"

"Morning, Kaga…mi…" We stopped mid-greeting once we noticed Kagami with an exasperated look on her face. And to have one this early in the morning could only mean one thing.

Looks like Chibikko pissed her off again…

"H-Hey, Kagami. What's wrong?" Ayano asked. "You don't seem to be in a good mood."

"*sigh* Well…Konata annoyed the hell out of me this morning…"

Called it…

"…but not in the normal way."

"Huh?" Both of us were confused.

"When I met up with her, she sounded depressed as hell. And wouldn't say anything or even speak to me the whole trip here."

"Chibikko not yapping her mouth off in the morning? That's not like her." I said. "It's about time she shut her damn trap, though…"

"Misao!" Ayano nudged me on the shoulder.

"And then when she finally spoke to me, she asked me the most bizarre question I've ever heard from her. "What did I truly think of her?"."

"Tch! Oh, no…" We both nervously whispered.

I've got a bad feeling about this…

"When I asked where she even got such a question, all she said was that "Ayano would explain it better"."

"O-Oh, did she now?" Ayano asked.

"So, now that we're all here…why do you know what's going on with Konata, Ayano? Was it something she did?"

It's a lot of things she did, really. But I wasn't mentally prepared to tell her about it! This is WAY too soon for it to come back up again!

Ayano, please! Please don't tell her!

"Uh…w-well…y-you see, Kagami…it's, uh…"

AYANO! PLEASE DON'T TELL!

"Oh, thank God…" We both mumbled under our breaths.

"Damn these oddly-timed bells…" Kagami said.

"Hey, Hiiragi…" Kuroi-sensei called out as she walked up to us. "…have you seen Kirin at all this morning?"

"Kirin? Doesn't she tag along with you in the mornings?"

"*sigh* Yeah, but…when I woke up this morning, she was already gone. Didn't leave a note or anything."

"I see…"

*RINGTONE CHIME*

"Well, speak of the devil. Kirin just sent me a message." Kagami then looked at her phone. ""Morning woods, Vice-Prez! I've got a titillating new idea in mind! Can't tell you what it is yet…but I'm working on it right now. Tell Nanako that I'll be a little late to class. Semen you later! Squirt squirt~!" *sigh* Even her text messages are nothing but sex jokes…"

"*snicker* Squirt squirt…" I mumbled to myself.

"For real? Grow up…" Ayano retorted.

"Well, we know where she is…" Kagami said. "…but I got a bad feeling on what this new "idea" of hers is."

"Well, if there's one thing Kirin's good at as President, it's definitely coming up with some wacky ideas." I said. "I was actually kinda hoping for that Challenge Pissing event to get passed."

"In your goddamn dreams…" Both classmates and teacher retorted hard.

20 minutes into 1st period and I was already bored as hell. To the point where I was just about to fall asleep. But just before my head hit the desk, Ayano finger-flicked me in the forehead. Waking me up instantly.

"Ow! The hell, Ayano?!"

"You know why the hell. You really need to stop sleeping in class."

"It's not my fault this stuff's so boring. I mean, what are the chances that we'll need any of this in the real world? Seems kinds pointless to me."

"Sometimes, I really do pity you, Misao…" Ayano gained a sweatdrop.

Wh-What's that supposed to mean?!

"Hey. Kusakabe. Minegishi. Quit talking and pay attention."

"Y-Yes! Sorry, Sensei…" We both replied after Kuroi-sensei called us out.

"Honestly…you guys are third-years now. More than ever do you guys need to learn this stuff. Especially with college entrance exams coming up soon and…"

"I'VE COME TO MAKE AN ANNOUNCEMENT!"

We were all then scared the crap out of our minds when Kirin suddenly slammed the door open and shouted as loud as she could. All included with a huge grin on her face.

"S-Senpai…y-you're really gonna break the doors off their hinges if you keep doing that…" Said a girl with pale brown hair as she was peaking her head inside the classroom.

"Ah, it's fine. It'll come out of the school's pockets, not mine."

"B-But that doesn't…"

"Kirin! Where the hell have you been?! You've missed over half of 1st period!" Kuroi-sensei yelled at her 18-year-old sister.

"Sorry, Nanako. But I had this great idea fill up my insides and I had to come here quicker than a two-pump chump. Which is really hard to do, FYI."

"As if I give a damn about a two-pump chump…"

"*snicker* Two-pump chump…"

"Are you serious?" Ayano retorted me again.

"Can I just make my announcement?" Kirin asked. "I promise that it'll be a quicky."

"*sigh* Fine, whatever." Kuroi-sensei said. "Just don't take too much time on this "announcement" of yours."

"Okay-vajay, Sis!" Kirin cheered with a thumbs up. "Rui! Bring-ith to me thy bulletin board!"

"Y-Yes, senpai!" Said the girl from before as she pushed a huge bulletin board inside the classroom.

Oh, yeah…I should probably explain who this girl is, huh? Well, her name's Rui…Rui…R-Rui…uh…A-Ayano, you do it!

Ayano's POV

Wh-Why do I gotta…*sigh* whatever. The girl's name is Rui Tsukikawa. She's a first-year here (the only one that we know) and is, unwillingly, Ryōō High School's Student Council Secretary. And I say "unwillingly" because Kirin basically forced her to do it without really giving her much of a chance to decide on her own.

Though, it's not like she would've been able to, anyway. Rui-san is so shy that she often hides from people at every chance she gets. She even wears a Shy Guy mask over her face whenever she's out in public (except at school. It's not allowed).

So, I'm not sure what Kirin saw in her to make her Secretary. But…Rui-san doesn't seem to mind. In fact…I think she even looks up to Kirin. In a strange way.

"*clears throat* Ladies and gentlemen, bastards and bitches! I, your Student Council President Kirin Miyagi, along with your Student Council Secretary Rui Tsukikawa…Rui, say hi."

"H-Hello…" Rui-san nervously said from behind the bulletin board.

"…are here to present to you all a brand-new sexy-ass idea!"

"This isn't another stupid attempt to bring Challenge Pissing back, is it?" Kagami asked.

"Sadly, no. I was told that if I ever brought it up again, I would lose funding rights for the school. And I kinda need that to fix some of the doors I've broken today…"

"Say what now?"

"ANYWAY! Everyone…take a look at the board!" Kirin then removed the curtain covering the bulletin board and revealed this new idea of hers. With the words "Sunshine Festival" written in kanji.

And it definitely got us talking…

"Sunshine Festival?"

"What does that mean? A school festival during the summer?"

"How's that gonna work?"

"*confident giggle* That's right, folks. I'm proposing the first-ever Ryōō High School Sunshine Festival! A school-based summer festival that will even put Taiko no Tatsujin to shame!"

"Ooh! Taiko no Tatsujin?! I LOVE that game!" Misao cheered.

"Why are we competing against a video game?" Kuroi-sensei asked with a sweatdrop.

"Kaichō-san. When exactly is this?" One student in our class asked. "I've got training camp to attend."

"This is all still in its planning phase." Kirin answered. "Right now, we're just showing it around to everyone to bring up excitement."

"F-Funding for the project will begin…o-once the Principal gives his approval." Rui-san added.

"Right. So, with that being said…Vice-President Kagami! We shall discuss this further at our next foursome!"

"F-Foursome?!" Nearly the entire class yelled with light blushes.

"Stop calling our meetings foursomes!" Kagami yelled in anger.

I am SO glad I'm a part of the Discipline Committee…

"More information will be released soon. So, keep your ears peeled. Until then…keep being sexy and remember our school slogan: Play with it…in moderation!"

That is NOT our school slogan…

"Let's roll, Rui!"

"Y-Yes, senpai…" Rui-san said as she came out from behind the bulletin board and stood next to Kirin.

"Ready? And…"

"Zazas Zazas Nasatanda Zazas!"

*POOF*

"*cough* *cough* *cough* Wh-What the…"

The duo then disappeared in a cloud of smoke that filled the entire classroom. All while chanting a…weird saying that I guess Kirin got from an anime or something.

"*cough* *cough* Well…that was something." I said.

"Yeah…" Kagami said. "…but I gotta admit, a school-based summer festival does sound like an interesting idea. Can't believe came up with something normal for once."

"Yeah, it's a shocker."

"Still would've been down for Challenge Pissing…"

"Would you please forget about Challenge Pissing already?!" We both yelled at Misao.

"Alright, everyone. Settle down." Kuroi-sensei said. "Now…back to what I was saying about…"

*INSERT CLASSIC JAPANESE SCHOOL BELL CHIME HERE*

"*sigh* Goddamnit, Kirin…we'll continue this lesson tomorrow. Keep what I said about college entrance exams in your minds. Especially you, Kusakabe."

"Wh-Why am I being called out?!" Misao asked.

"Because you're currently tied with Izumi for being doomed beyond compare. You only have 10 months of high school left and I suggest you make good with it."

"Y-Yes, Sensei…"

"*giggle* You got exampled." I teased.

"Shut up." Misao replied with an exasperated look.

Misao's POV

Lunchtime soon came around and I was freaking starving! Mainly because I didn't eat breakfast this morning (stupid Tatsuji hogged all the cereal).

While Kagami went off to her usual eating spot with Chibikko and Miyuki (not sure why she still does it. Tsukasa's not here anymore), Ayano and I started eating with the second-years recently. And they didn't mind, either. Hell, they welcomed us with open arms. Probably excited about the idea of eating with upperclassmen.

And I guess I could say the same about them. The five of them can really get into some rather…interesting conversations.

Especially from Patty.

"…So then he took his quilly-looking d*ck out and even said that it was "THIS BIG!". And I said that's disgusting! So, I took out my phone, went onto Twitter, and as I was about to make a post, I…"

"P-Patty…what the hell are you talking about?" Hiyori asked the lone American girl.

"Weren't you listening, Hiyori-chan? I'm talking about this dream I had where a hedgehog peed on my wife."

"What?!" We all shouted with pure confusion (except Konno, who just showed it on her face).

"It was a pretty weird dream, to be honest. Probably one of the weirder ones…"

"W-Wait, weren't we talking about that announcement Kirin-senpai made earlier?" Minami asked. "How did we go from that to…whatever this dream of yours is?"

"Oh, that's easy. I saw Yutaka-chan's drink and it made me remember. I think I can put it all together now."

"I knew I had a bad feeling about buying this lemonade…" Yutaka said as she pushed her drink away.

"Okay, now I'm curious. How does the dream end?" I asked.

"Hmm…I think it ended with me pissing on the Moon and calling out the US President. Which is weird because I don't know who the US President is now. I think my mom said it started with an "O"…"

W-Wait, what? Pissing on the Moon? How is that even possible?

"I-I see…" I gained a sweatdrop.

"You just had to ask, didn't you?" Ayano retorted.

"O-Okay, enough about Patty's weird-ass dream." Hiyori said. "So, Kirin-senpai wants to have a summer festival here at school?"

"Yeah, she does. And it seems promising, too. She hasn't given much details on it…but she said that such an event will even put Taiko no Tatsujin to shame."

"Taiko no Tatsujin?! I LOVE that game!" Patty cheered.

"I know, right?! It's so cool!" I added.

"Why are competing against a video game?" Minami asked with a sweatdrop.

"Did Kirin-senpai give out a date, yet?" Yutaka asked.

"Not really. She said the whole thing's still in its planning phase. But it'll most likely be in August. Like a regular summer festival."

"I see…" Yutaka then gained a worried look as she turned to Konno. "Hey, Konno-chan…isn't that event sometime in August?"

(Yes, it is. The exact dates are still unknown. But it is a week-long event.)

"Is that so?"

"Wait, what event are you guys talking about?" I asked.

"Well…Konno-chan and I are entering a…um…Nega-Gravity Grand Prix."

"W-Wait, WHAT?! YOU'RE ENTERING A NEGA-GRAVITY GRAND PRIX?!" The rest of us shouted in pure shock.

"Shh! Please keep it down! I don't want too many people to know…"

"Y-Yu-chan…what made you want to take part in a Nega-Gravity Grand Prix?" Minami asked.

"And furthermore, when did you learn how to ride a Nega-Gravity board?" Ayano added.

"Well…it kinda started sometime after first meeting Konno-chan…"

Yutaka then explained to us how this new interest of hers came to be. Apparently, one morning as she was walking to school with Chibikko and Kagami, a douchebag on a Nega-Gravity board came rushing past them and insulted the three of them to the point where Kagami almost got physical with him.

But before that could happen, Konno intervened by throwing her schoolbag at the guy. And after some words (more like a teasing face) were exchanged, the guy finally left.

It was then that Konno admitted that she's the current Grand Prix Champion. And the guy was the previous one who vows to get revenge on her for taking his title.

"…ever since that day, I kinda gained in interest in Nega-Gravity racing. So, I took up lessons from Konno-chan and now we're entering the Grand Prix together in August. Pr-Pretty crazy, huh?"

"Yeah, no kidding." Hiyori said. "That's totally something I would NEVER expect from you, Yutaka."

"Is this something you can truly handle, Yu-chan?" Minami asked. "I mean…there is your weak immune system…"

"Riding a Nega-Gravity board takes some serious energy and all…" Patty added.

(It should be fine, everyone.) Konno signed. (We also trained to improve her stamina, as well. She can last longer than before.)

"Uhh…" The trio did concerned moans.

"You guys still seem worried…" Ayano said.

"Well, what if we saw Yutaka ride a Nega-Gravity board herself?" I asked. "Will that convince you?"

"Well…I guess…" Minami said after they all thought about it.

"If Konno's be training her as she said she's been, then it shouldn't be much of an issue…" Hiyori added.

"Hey, hey…Konno-chan. Can you and Yutaka-chan do 360 noscopes and sick-ass tricks and stuff?" Patty asked.

"N-Nein, nein, nein!" Konno responded in a panicked tone…in German.

Oh, yeah…I forgot that Ayano told me about Konno's situation…

"Ah. I see that you brought your hearing aid to school, Konno-san." Ayano said.

(I did not have a choice in the matter…) Konno signed. (My parents found that I have not been using it and they once again forced me to wear it. This is my first time using it all day.)

"I see…"

"So, you're really part-German, Konno?" Hiyori asked. "I never would've guessed…"

"I think it's great that you're learning how to speak Japanese and English, Konno-chan." Patty added. "The subtitles were starting to become annoying to read, anyway."

(Well, you are the one who never told me about these annoying subtitles!)

"I didn't know how to explain it."

So, she had the same issue as Ayano did before…

(And furthermore…what is this "Lucky Star" thing I kept seeing when I was searching how to get rid of these subtitles?)

"Uh…" Was all we said.

*INSERT CLASSIC JAPANESE SCHOOL BELL CHIME HERE*

"O-Oh, would you look at that. It's the bell." Ayano said. "Come on, Misao. Let's hurry so we don't be late to our next class."

"R-Right behind you, Aya-chan." I replied as I quickly got up and followed Ayano back inside the school building.

"H-Hey! You're just gonna leave us to deal with this?!" Hiyori yelled.

"Don't dump this on us!" Minami added.

"Sorry. Can't hear ya. We're getting far enough to not be in this chapter."

"But this story's about you two!" Patty yelled.

"We're getting farther away~…" We both said as we slowly lost sight of the second-years.

"*sigh* That was a close one…" I said. "…thank God for these oddly-timed bells, am I right?"

"You know…someone should really tell Konno-san, Kirin, and Rui-san about the 4th wall." Ayano said. "We can't keep them oblivious to it forever."

"Well, do you wanna do it?"

"Hell no." Ayano then went silent for a bit. "At least…that was my original thought. But after seeing Konno-san panic over it during Golden Week, I feel like we have to tell them. Just to save them the brain-shattering trauma."

"Well…I'm sure Kirin wouldn't have a problem with it. Considering her personality. But I am worried about how Rui would take it."

"Yeah, true…"

As we walked back to our class, we saw Kagami standing out in the hallway looking agitated again. Which probably means that she had another "eventful" lunch with Chibikko.

Thank God I never have to eat with her…

"Hey, Kagami. What's up?" I greeted her.

"Oh. Misao and Ayano. I was JUST looking for you two…"

"Y-You were looking for us?"

"F-For what?" Ayano asked.

Kagami didn't answer for a bit and stared us down with the biggest "I'm pissed" look I've ever seen on her.

"K-Kagami…"

"Hey…do you think the three of us can chat for a bit? IN PRIVATE?"

"Tch! Aw, crap…" We both gained panicked looks of our own.

We should've just explained the series to Konno…

Author's Note: It's been a while since I "technically" rebooted this story. I just wanted to give it at least some kind of update.

But, geez…I almost lost this story TWICE! For some reason, when transferring my files from my old computer to my new one, this story was THE ONLY ONE that just disappeared. Even stories that I didn't get far on made it safely…but this one didn't.

And then after I copied it from FanFiction and was working on this chapter earlier in the week, it disappeared AGAIN! I saved it on a USB and it disappeared. That part I'm still not understanding.

But luckily, it didn't happen a third time. I would've just given up if that were the case.

Not sure when I'll update this again. Probably whenever I have more free time like this. Until then…thanks for reading. Later.
