Shirou had some thoughts about the tiger he met before and how Michiru had reacted from his blood, so he looked for Gabu who was inside his office. "Hey, am I interrupting?" He asked, knocking at the door frame, the lieutenant raised his view from his computer and smiled at the sight of the wolf.

"Ogami! Not at all, come in, can I help you with something?" He asks, standing up, closing his computer.

"In fact there is one thing as you might know. I had, until recently, worked with Michiru and even if I prefer to work alone this time I don't think it would be wise. Are you up for taking a look at the tiger residence?" Gabu's face reflected his surprise but then the tiger came to his memory.

"You mean the more recent victim of the drug? Do you have any hint about what happened?" He got a no for an answer.

"More like a feeling, he was a good citizen and his episode was more explosive than others. Maybe there is something there that can help us. Tho i would catch you there, i have to answer a call for the mayor."

"It's okay then, we will meet there, I'll try not to delay you meanwhile." With a nod the wolf left the room leaving the lieutenant staring at the door and then his computer.

He knew that the reason he was summoned was for the meeting to happen with the minister of japan. Once he was there he met Pingua who was waiting at the entrance for him next to a human. A few trades of worlds let him know that a human waiting with him was sent by the minister. His whole body began to tense by his presence and a deep growl was building up on his throat, but it suddenly stopped as he remembered the breakfast and Michiru which calmed him down. After no more than 5 mins they were called to come in.

"Ah, Ogami, Pingua. I am glad that both of you could come. I am sorry for the abruptness of this meeting but I wanted to introduce you to someone who will be accompanying us from now on." He explained pointing to the young man Shirou had seen earlier. "This is Kenji Yoshida, an ambassador sent by the prime minister in order to have anima city embassies if possible."

This was a big step in the eyes of both beastmen, if that was true, it would mean that the beastmen would finally have an easier and safer way to get to the city, maybe even not having to leave the places where they currently lived. "As much as I would like to believe that, the world has shown us how it can be towards our people."

Shirou's comment was true, but surprisingly the young man stepped forward speaking although his voice clearly showed nervousness. "I-I am aware of what the humans have done to the beastmen and I am very sorry that this is the case. But I once had someone close to me who was a beastman and when I lost this person, I decided I would change how they were treated."

He took a brief pause, his nervousness was noticeable when speaking and even more so when the wolf focused his attention on his, expectant of the rest of his speech. "W-that's why I'm here, to really understand the beastmen and help them stop being afraid."

Both Pingua and Shirou would be surprised watching the young man, Shirou did not want to believe it but the world had started to move for some time and although it was slight, a feeling of relief began to beat in his chest, a hope that his people would never have to suffer the same fate as in the past "You better realize that those words came with a heavy load. Better be prepared for what will come in the future."

The boy nodded a bit scared of the words but he seemed calmer than what Shirou or Pingua expected, with that out of the way the mayor was the one to clear her throat smiling. "Okay, now the reason I called you here is because I will have you two and 4 policemen as my escort only."

"Excuse me mayor but wasn't Michiru part of the plan from the beginning? Shouldn't we discuss this with her?" Shirou demanded to know, angry that she wouldn't be part of it anymore, Pingua noticing his anger would place a hand on his shoulder to try and calm him but he could feel how tense the wolf was at that moment.

Meanwhile Rose stared at them and took a deep breath before sighing and crossed her fingers over the table. It was at this moments when Shirou was reminded why she was the mayor of the city in the first place.

"Ogami." Her voice was calm and soft but carried with authority. "I don't have to remind you of that one, I am the major and on that matter I'm your boss. Two, Michiru already has a job and she needs her own time and space to focus on that. I know she means a lot for you cause it means a lot for me too, but you this time she won't be involved." If Shirou wasn't so angry, he would have probably turned bright red but he did not. Rose had read him like an open book and even if she was right it doesn't mean he liked it but the look she was giving him meant that she wouldn't accept another word about it.

"Good, now, this will take place 4 days from today and we will stay 2 days more likely so please be ready. The Japanese government will give us reservations at a hotel."

"Understood ma'am, come on ogami." But before saying anything else, Pingua saw Shirou leaving the room on a quick step. "Maybe he forgot something?"

Meanwhile in another part of the city, more specific on ikki's house as Shirou had asked him before, Gabu was inspecting the place using gloves and a face mask while using a lantern to illuminate since the light service had been shut down. A month and a half had pass since the owner was taken on by Ogami and into the hospital but yet the house seemed pretty clean, but as he begin to get closer to the bedroom he begin to find marks of blood and scratches on the floor and walls as if two wild beast had fought to death on that place.

"Oh god, it looks like one of those bear attacks in the movies…" He would think out loud while touching the marks, the claws that made that had to be really sharp since the cut was clean and they were 2 cm deep. Taking a small container out of a bag on his clothes he would take some samples of the blood, its color was darker than usual and it seemed a bit fresh. This put him on guard, taking out his gun he would lean his back on the wall. "Anyone is here? It's the police!"

There was only silence but he kept moving slowly and as silent as he could, using the lantern to illuminate at the time he pointed his gun. Once on the bathroom door he was able to see a blood stain on the sink and it was a lot, he began to wonder if Ikki wasn't a killer or something like that. The last room he walked in was the bedroom which was also a mess like the others but even the bed was, so maybe it was the tiger itself who did all by himself. While inspecting the drawers where there was nothing unusual, something got his attention on the floor right next to the bed.

"What the…what is this?" He felt a strong odor and he had to cover his nose, walking around the bed he kneeled and was about to touch the substance when a hand quickly pulled his arm away making him throw a hit with his elbow.

"Easy there, it's Shirou." He pointed while holding the elbow with his other hand, rolling his eyes. "Don't touch that, it's bile but it smells weird, kinda like a corpse and it shouldn't smell like that."

"God dammit Ogami, don't startle me like that! Oh god, I'm glad I didn't keep my gun in my hand." He yelled while holding his chest before looking back at the pod. "So, are you sure it's bile? To be honest there is blood around that looks as weird as this, I took some samples but it's abnormal."

Pulling the sample bags out he showed them to him, Shirou himself had seen blood multiple times before, mostly his but the color on the samples made him frown. It was, once again, unnatural and it made him gag once he noticed the odor. Suddenly he saw Gabu's hand melting as it began to rot quickly.

"What the, Gabu your hand!" He yelled looking at his companion but his face was already half rotten as his eyeball was hanging from the nerve. He felt like his lungs could not store any air as he began to crawl back, getting away from the walking corpse that was getting close to him, his chest beginning to burn as the wounds on it opened again.

"Ogami, hey ogami what's wrong?!" He tried to get an answer but the wolf morphed to his beast form and began to hyperventilate as he closed his eyes, quickly he pulled his phone out to call for medical attention but Shirou hand pulled his arm closer. He turned around to see the wolf still panting on the floor as he denied with his head, clinching his eyes closed as he spoke slowly. "N-no ... .ambulance…or anything…I need…a moment…"

"Ogami, you are hurt, we need to get you some help." Shirou then pulled his shirt up as the wounds slowly began to close, but even then it took them some time to close completely, Gabu could only stare at him in disbelief but he took a seat and stayed close to keep an eye on him. It took a few minutes for the marks to heal entirely and once it was done he sat and fixed his shirt. He stared at the void as his superior stared at him, demanding an explanation.

"So, it was true that you are Ginro, right Ogami?" These words made his body tense as he slowly turned to the side, staring at the one who spoke that, though his face was the answer he needed.

"How did you…" He got interrupted.

"I am a detective, the pieces were there and I just needed to put them together. The healing, the strength, the fact that Alan respects you now. I can only figure the rest of your story but then, you were there in that town weren't you?"

Silence.

"Look, if you don't wanna tell me I understand, but you have been acting weird and i just saw how your healing factor is not working as it should be." He stood up walking to the bilis to take a sample as carefully as he could.

"It…happened after fighting Alan I guess…" Shirou began to say as he got up as well. "It was slow but I began to notice recently that not only my wounds would take more to heal or even reopen, but my mind, my brain wasn't healing either."

"What are you.."

"I'm dying ... .Gabu, I have been living for hundreds of years but now, I am dying."

After taking some pictures and placing some police tapes on the door, both left and got into Gabu's car, driving to the Silvasta research center, none had spoken a word after Shirou confession and neither could look at the other without feeling weird. But since they couldn't stay like that, it was the lieutenant who broke the silence with a single question. "Does the girl know it?"

"...No….and it must remain like this."

"How long do you have? Why now?" He asked, concerned.

"I'm not sure and the doctor is trying to figure that out, but since we are not so sure how i got inmortal the first time, we can't really tell."

Gabu parked in front of the building, took a deep breath and looked at him. "Well, if you need to talk about that or anything else, you can count on me, after all. That's what friends are for?"

The wolf turned his face to see him with a shocked expression but slowly he relaxed his face and smiled. "Yeah, that's what friends are for."

All the way to the pharmaceutic was silence or at least, most of the time, Gabu would try and make a conversation but neither him nor Shirou really engage in a real conversation until they reach their destination. The building still had the stink of Alan but Shirou remained in his human form to try and ignore the odor, once they registered at the entrance they went upstairs but from time to time Shirou needed to stop and take a break, it seemed that his wound was healed only superficially. With Shirou refusing to get some help from Gabu, they took a bit longer to reach their destination but at least they got there and a man with a white coat was expecting them. "Yoshida, i wasn't expecting you so soon but it's always nice to see you here and i suppose this is Ogami."

"Yes, hello doctor hattori, sorry for the uninvited visit." The senior man shook his head smiling looking at both.

"It's not an issue, after all, since we don't have much work these days. This place is like a graveyard and trust me when I tell you it can mess with your head. But anyway, please follow me to my office, we can talk there in peace." Both young men look at each other before following the doctor, whispering to each other.

"So you know him personally?" Shirou asked.

"Kinda, since the drug appeared we have been working closely, i know him very well but he had been acting strange since we discovered the block on the database." Shirou narrowed his eyes in the direction of the doctor, something was off if that was true. When they got into the office, they noticed that it had no windows and when the door closed there was a sound like a vacuum that alerted both but the voice of Hattori brought their eyes to the front.

"Now we are safe here, I'm sorry for looking suspicious but I suspect that someone inside was involved with the mystery chemicals that were on the docs, so my office has been isolated so nothing can get out unless I want. Anyway please take a seat and let's see what you two found." They did as they were requested and Gabu took the sample bags out putting them on the desk and at the moment the man saw them his brow furrowed before putting on some gloves and holding the bags. "Where did you say you got this?"

"From one of the victims of the drug, apparently there was a fight and there was blood and this kind of bilis around."

"I see…" He raised them above his head so the light would go through them before putting them down, leaning back on his chair with arms crossed staring at the bags for a few seconds, he seemed worried.

"Well, I'll need to do some tests but the color as you can surely tell is abnormal. Not only that, the light won't go through even with this small sample so it's very dense. Blood and bilis are not like that and unless it's something else, this might have a concentrated dose of the drug. But if this was found around it can only mean that his body reacted very harshly to it."

"Well, back when we captured him, he was in fact stronger and more volatile. It was a tough one"

"Okay, please make sure no one else gets in contact with this with their bare hands. I suppose you used gloves for the procedure but still I'll need you two to get decontaminated. As for me, I'll keep this sample only between my more close colleges. But of course I'll report to you and Tachiki chief."

"Thank you doctor, that will help a lot." Said Gabu relieved that this might help them understand the situation a bit more.

"There is nothing to be thankful about lieutenant, it is my job to investigate isn't it?" He smiled before looking at the door. "I recommend having meetings at night when most of the personnel are in their homes. It will be safe." They nodded and agreed to meet in a week, perfect for Shirou since he would be back by then. As they were leaving the doctor stopped Shirou as Gabu was a bit ahead of them. "I was contacted by a mutual friend at the general hospital and asked me to meet you so I was surprised to see you. He needs help with something about you but won't tell me after we discuss the terms, so, have that in mind when we meet again Ogami. Sounded important."

And with that the doctor let go of Shirou who followed Gabu without stopping staring at him, the doctor assured him that the information wouldn't get to the ears of anyone, but Gabu trusts this guy so maybe he would give the benefit of doubt. As they walk to the elevator this time, Shirou stops at the window to watch down the city, his chest was heavy as he was deeply afraid of the city but he couldn't help but to look around to find the co-op in the distance.

"It's heavy isn't it?" Gabu's voice sounded behind him before stands on his right, staring at the city too. "The weight of being the protector of something or someone. I understand that much, of course not like you."

"It is, yes, but I didn't had someone to help me before, now I have Rose, Michiru and you now I guess. Don't get me wrong, I'm…not used to working with others." This made Gabu smirks before placing a hand on his shoulder while still staring at the city.

"It's okay, we have this. You can count on us." He reassured him.

'oh but he can't, can he?'

Shirou decided to walk back home to look for something, telling Gabu that he would meet him after, at that hour no one was on the living section so it was fine to just go in and go out. Once there he walked inside, not locking the door behind him as he didn't think it necessary. As he walked into his room he noticed that it felt cold, funny since he never had issues with cold before. Once there he began to search through the books, his memory itching as he took 3 books and started to read them.

'Since Michiru's arm recovered it seems it wasn't as bad as it looks, but since nirvasyl syndrome i had been feeling odd, i keep hearing voices and for some reason i think i know them but can't seem to remember them.' He frowned before opening the next book with a bookmark.

'I was sure someone was following me today, but I couldn't really see it or smell it and there were times where it was almost next to me and those voices were getting clearer but for some reason I can't seem to remember that I heard them before until I read these notes.'

'It's been a few months since I last heard the voices and I totally forgot about them, but they are beginning to speak about Michiru and me, last time I realized I was already writing down but I was space out and I couldn't understand what was written down.' He stared at those books he had wrote himself, he knew he did but the content about the voices was missing from his memories. The fact that one of them reacted to what Gabu said triggered his memory but still, his breathing became a bit erratic as he reached his head holding it slowly as he noticed some of the writing was different from his own. Shutting his eyes he tried to remember when he had written those notes with different patterns but he couldn't remember or…

"Wait…wait wait…" He took off his shirt staring at the still present marks on his chest, he followed the marks with his hands, his memory once more triggered. It was dark and he woke up looking around before starting to scratch his chest himself as a voice screamed on his head.

'You don't deserve to live!' He quickly moved his hand away, staring at the empty space before him, that's not what he remembered. He woke up and the scratches were already there….weren't they? Back at the house he and Gabu search, did he scratch when his partner wasn't looking? But they reopened out of nowhere, no…no it wasn't him….was it?

'Come on Shirou, who else could hurt you on your own bed' His body tensed at the time he turned around looking for a figure but he could only see his reflection on the glass.

"What?..." He took a few steps closer. "Did you…"

'Speak?'

Gabu was writing some more reports about what he and Shirou found at the house, he took some time to make one for the doctor to explain more of what they learned from the subjects once they were confronted by Ogami and how both him and the subjects reacted, Ogami been more impulsive, specially if Kagemori was around. Speaking of, she was still out patrolling and checking the city now that she was officially assigned with Akeno. But still thinking about Ogami, it's been a few hours since he had to come by as he told.

"Well i guess he got distracted with something or someone, hope it doesn't has to do with the case. He isn't been the same, maybe he got exposed to the drug on the blood of the subjects?..." He crossed his arms over his chest staring at the screen. "Yet again we will know if something was wrong, i mean he is….but he has time and they are working on that."

"After all, he is a tough guy after all." There was blood over the shatter glass on shirou office, scratches all over the place as he was also covered on scratches while his eyes moved on all directions and his breathing was all but normal, tears run down his face. Almost hyperventilating while kuro came by the hole on the window and turn around to leave at the sight of Shirou, one thought on his mind. Michiru.

'Ah, look at us…such a mess'

Alright ill be totally honest, i had like 4 versions of this chapter cause i kept going back to Shirou and what is happening to him. After all how would you guys will react if till now you didn't care about wounds or dying but suddendly you ahve someone you care and your body starts to betray you? So i decide to try and focus on Shirou for now, we will have Michiru of course but our wolf pal will become the main character for now. Tell me what you think about this chapter and maybe give some ideas or theories you have of what i wanna do :P See you
