When John appeared, the boys were already on the bed talking. Claudia was sitting on the floor, petting Juliet, a solemn, worried look on her face. Derek spoke, apparently in response to something Stiles had said.

"Yeah, of course I remember… Did you dream about her...?" He asked curiously. Stiles did shake his head but didn't nod, just gave a conflicted look that showed it wasn't so simple, and demanded a bit of patience.

"She had-... The doctors' best guess was a rare form of Dementia. Towards the end, more and more she just… wasn't herself. She-... She was manic, and paranoid, and unpredictable… Her lucid moments were pretty rare, and even then… She was dying and- and of course she was scared and depressed. And most of the time I was the only one there for her. Dad had to work, I was there- at the hospital- whenever I wasn't in school. She was inconsolable…" Stiles took a shakey breath. Derek rubbed his shoulder.

"Take your time, Stiles…" Derek said in a low, quite tone.

"One night… Dad was a few minutes late, and she'd been antsy all night, wouldn't stop shaking, pacing, didn't say a word. And then she left her room. I followed her to the stairs, begged her to come back, said dad would be there soon. She didn't say a word, didn't even turn around. I followed her up the stairs, I wanted to make sure she was okay. She went to the roof. I didn't even really know about…. That kind of stuff, yet. But she walked up to the edge and it scared me and I was worried she'd... fall… so I tried to ask her what she was doing. She-She didn't answer, she still wouldn't look at me. My father showed up and pulled her away, tried to talk some sense into her. But… She said she could stand to be in the same room with me, looking at her. She said…" Stiles hunched down to rest his face in his hand, elbow on his knee. Derek kept a comforting hand on his shoulder. "She said I was hurting her, that I was trying to kill her. He tried to calm her down, but she insisted. I was watching and she noticed, and screamed at me to stop. I didn't know what to do, I froze up, and she… she… " Stiles sat up straight and felt the side of his face his mother had clawed all to hell that night. Claudia pulled her knees to her chest and started to sob. John came over to comfort her and stop the shaking of the computer chair next to her. Stiles' finger found the least healed of the 4 marks, and ran his finger down the length of it. Derek went stiff as Stiles pointed it out to him. "...She attacked me, started hitting me. It took a few minutes until she lost enough steam that dad could finally tear her away… After that, the nurses kept a closer eye on us…" Derek rubbed Stiles' back as calmly as he could.

"You dreamt about that?" He asked, seeming to realize his hope was misplaced.

"First…. Then about my dad… the night before he finally started trying to drink less, and get better…. He said I killed my mother, and I was ruining his life, and I was gonna kill him too, and then he whipped a glass at my head… And then I had a weird dream, of all my friends… family, saying I was going to be the death of them too… And of my friend from when I was like 5 and my baby sitter from when I was like 7 or 8, telling me it was my fault they were dead, and then you, and then me- myself, laughing at my own pain and I just, spiralled into a really, really dark place, and then Claire woke me up- and helped me calm down." Stiles finished by huffing out a sigh, as Derek nodded taking all Stiles had said in. "And now... I'm fine, because this… is something I've just gotten used to, at this point..." Derek gave Stiles a stern insistent look, the same one John would give before telling him not to be so dismissive of himself, but he settled to just move a bit closer and wrap an arm around Stiles and hold him, comforting him.

Claudia however was shaking, with remorse and anger.

"Babe, it's okay, just try to-" John tried to comfort her quietly as Juliet paced the room now. Suddenly the computer kicked on, off of sleep mode, as Claudia screamed an ear piercing scream, broadcast through the computer's speakers as a strange distorted crackling screech. Stiles jumped up, as Juliet barked and whined insistently at the two of them. He rushed over through the two of them to try to find what tab, or window, or app the scream was coming from, before turning it off, unable to find it. Claudia pulled john close, crying into his shoulder, as their son stood in their spectral forms, cursing about the strange event.
