Sora and Luna Mothews
Luna looks down at her feet, "I don't know if we should meet up like this again?" she turns to face Sora. "We hardly know each other. We only just met."
"But we have met before. Remember?" the normie steps up to her. "Just as you said. The moment I saw you, I knew that we met once upon a dream."
The moth ghoul suddenly wraps her arms around the boy's neck and kisses him.
When they pull apart, Sora laughs, "I thought we weren't supposed to do that until the last scene?" he holds up a script titled Sleeping Ghoulie.
"I had to react. I felt your emotion and passion through the lines. Also, as a Jersey Ghoul, I'm too impatient to wait that long," she lets her wings flutter before walking behind the curtains in her dressing room. "Besides, I couldn't think of a better way to thank my boofriend for helping me rehears every night for the past three weeks."
"Not saying I didn't like it," Sora smiles as he goes to sit at the vanity and skims through the script. "Shouldn't you have been doing this with your co-star, though?"
"Ugh! Don't get me started. I know that he's a big name, but that guy has such a huge ego. He refused to show up for rehearsals, saying that he doesn't need them. That he doesn't need anyone. If they let him, I'm willing to bet he'd try doing the entire show all by himself!"
The normie chuckles at that. "You know? This play reminds me of something some friends of mine went through," he turns to the last few pages.
"Really?" Luna peeks out from behind the curtain. "It's based on a popular Feary Tale."
"Yeah. Though, there are a few differences. Like, the prince had some help fighting the dragon aside from the fairies and the dark fairy is far more sinister. I've met her a couple times."
"So," the ghoul steps out from behind the curtain to show off her blood red gown. "How do I look?" she asks with a twirl.
"You look great in anything, Luna," he steps up to her and places his hands around her waist.
That makes the ghoul giggle. "I'm sure you say that to all the ghouls," she wraps her arms around his neck.
"Only the pretty ones from Boo Jersey, with red moth wings, and also my ghoulfriend."
Luna lets out another giggle before closing in for another kiss. That's when the door bursts open.
"The show's canceled!" a short goblin shouts out.
"What!?" Luna pulls away from Sora and turns to her agent. "Why!?"
"That co-star of yours fell off the stage last night while rehearsing by himself! He lost a leg, an arm, at least three ribs, and no one can find his eye anywhere!"
"What about his understudy?"
"The big shot didn't want one. He said that the only way he'd do the show is if they don't give him an understudy. Of course, the producer wanted him so badly, he foolishly agreed."
"But there must be something we can do?" the ghoul pleads.
"Sorry, kid. There's nothing," the agent sighs. "Not unless you know someone who has memorized the lines and skilled enough for the stunts?"
Instead of answering directly, Luna slowly turns to Sora who looks between them before pointing at himself.
"Me?"
The agent eyes him. "What size tunic you wear, kid?"
.oOo.
Luna lays in the bed in a death like sleep.
Sora steps onto the stage wearing a dark red tunic. He then approaches the slumbering ghoul. The normie takes a moment to admire the ghoul's beauty before leaning down to kiss her. Luna's eyes flutter open as she gasps for air.
The moth looks up at Sora. "It's you!" she sits up. "Is this another dream?"
"If it is, I never want to wake up," the boy says as they close in for another kiss just as the curtains lower and the audience cheers.
The curtains rise back up to reveal all the actors standing there. They bow as the crowd's screams of adoration increases.
Someone walks out from backstage to hand Luna a bouquet of flowers that the ghoul gladly accepts. Sora wraps an arm around her waist.
"So, I get to do this eight times a week?" he asks his ghoulfriend. "I could get used to this."
"You just want an excuse to kiss me every night, don't ya?" Luna giggles.
"I don't need one," Sora smiles as the two kiss again and the audience's reaction increases. "See?"
Luna blushes as she leans into her boofriend's side. This is probably the closest the ghoul is going to get to a real story book ending and she couldn't be any happier.
