Sora and Jinafire Long

Jinafire watches on as Sora swipes his keyblade through the air. She knows what he is doing. The normie is training. Keeping his skills sharp. It's good to do this, otherwise he might grow rusty.

What irked the dragon ghoul is his stance. He claims to have fought and won many battles. But Jinafire finds it hard to believe. She seen him fight and has no idea how he manages. From the way he stands to how he swings his weapon are all crude. The boy should be embarrassed.

After watching Sora takes another swing, Jinafire shouts, "Wrong!"

The boy loses his footing and falls to the ground as his keyblade disappears. He looks up at who distracted him. "Jinafire!?"

"Your stance is weak," she scolds him. "If it weren't then you would not have stumbled like you just did. It looks like you're practicing baseball rather than readying for a battle."

Sora pushes himself back up. "It's been suiting me fine. Never had any problems before."

The dragon ghoul glares at him. "It's a miracle you're still alive then. Take away that keyblade of yours and not use magic, I can beat you easily!"

"Okay," the normie tells her before walking over to a corner where a chest lies. "But you can't breathe fire either," he digs out a set of wooden swords. The boy goes back to the ghoul and hands her one of them.

She raises a brow at him. "Why do you have these?" Jinafire takes one of them. The mock weapons are simple, yet they're sturdy.

With a smile, Sora holds the wooden blade up. "My friends and I would often spar back on the island. Other than me and Riku, only one other used a wooden sword. The others kinda improvised with what they had," he smiles upon the memories of him and his friends. "None of us really had any idea how to fight. So, we each came up with our own styles. I win some, I lose some. Except when I fought Riku. I usually lost," he smiles at her.

Jinafire stares at him for a moment before giving a nod. Understanding the sentimental value these mock swords hold. "I agree to your terms," she steps one foot back and holds the sword forward with one hand. "First one to be disarmed or forfeits, loses. If you win then I will accept that you are the superior warrior."

"And if you win, then, uh…" the normie scratches the side of his head. "Um? I guess I'll buy you lunch or something," he shrugs.

The dragon's brows rises as she did not expect that. She then regains her composure. "Very well then."

Sora nods as he takes his usual stance. Knees lower than they should be where it be easy for him to lose balance, both hands gripping the sword with the weapon close to his body and blade pointing away from his opponent adding lag towards his strikes.

Jinafire huffs at the sight. The ghoul knows that she will end this in three seconds.

One.

She rushes towards her opponent.

Two.

Then, raises the blade above her.

Three.

And brings it down.

With a thunk, the mock weapons clash with one another. Sora has raised his sword above his head in time to block Jinafire's strike. With a push, the boy forces the ghoul away.

When she lands a few feet away, the dragon takes a moment examine her opponent's stance. Nothing's different about it. So, she goes for another hit, this time from the side. Only to have Sora to smack it away and he attempts to swing at her. Luckily, the ghoul was able to deflect it.

Jinafire gets it now. His stance is not meant to be offensive. It's a defensive style. With that realization, the ghoul knows exactly what to do.

She rushes towards him, once again coming from the side. Just as before, Sora blocks it and attempts to parry the attack. Except this time, Jinafire was prepared and maneuvers her sword around his in a way that allows the dragon to toss the mock weapon away. The normie's sword lands a good distance behind the ghoul.

"If you were more efficient, you would not have lost your weapon," Jinafire lowers her sword. "You need an actual training partner if you want to be an effective warrior. Were it not for your luck, you would have lost in any fair fight."

Sora lowers his head and clenches his fist. In one swift movement, the boy tuck and rolls past Jinafire and before the ghoul knew it, he grabs her tail and pulls her down.

With a shriek, the dragon soon finds herself sitting on the floor. Turning aback around, she sees that the normie has reached his own weapon.

In one quick movement, Sora has jumped towards her, bringing his mock weapon down. Jinafire raises her sword to defend against the oncoming attack. However, instead of a successful block, his blade had somehow broken through hers and the upper half fell to the floor. The normie then brings the tip of his wooden sword to the ghoul's face.

Jinafire growls. "That was a cheap shot. Such actions are dishonorable!"

"You're right," Sora tells her, not wavering his weapon. "But in a real battle there are no fair fights. Hesitating against an enemy because you want them to have an equal chance can mean the difference between the life of yours and others you are trying to protect. Most of the ones I fight don't even have a conscience to understand what honor is," he finally lowers his blade. "You're right, though." This shocked the ghoul. "In a mock battle with restrictions where there are rules of what you can and can't do, I probably would have lost and I have to admit, I tend to rely on the fact that if I lose my keyblade I can just summon it back," he gives her his signature goofy smile.

The dragon closes her eyes in deep thought. She has no idea what this normie has been through since the mantle of a warrior was forced upon him. The ghoul has no right to judge his ways. "I yield," she drops the half of the sword she was still holding.

Sora nods with a smile before picking up the two halves. "So, what do you want to eat?" he asks when passing by her.

Jinafire tilts her head as she watches him go back over to the chest. "What?"

"I owe you lunch," he puts the wooden swords away.

"But I yielded?"

"You did," the boy walks back over to her. "But I cheated after you beat me fair and square."

Her eyes widen at the realization. "I disarmed you."

Sora nods. "So, what's for lunch?"

The ghoul smiles. "I won't say no to anything Sichuan. And, Sora," she then glares at him and lets out a small flame from between her lips. "If you try a stunt like that again with my tail, I'll flail you alive! Am I clear?"

Sweat drops from the boy's head. "Crystal."
