Sora and Jane Boolittle
Jane Boolittle crawls through the airducts of Monster High. The purple skinned ghoul is on one of her research expeditions. She stops once she has discovered the topic of this research. Jane takes out her journal and starts scribbling notes.
Subject name; Sora.
Species; Human.
Humans: or as many call them, Normies are a rarity in the monster parts of the world. The chance to meet little alone study such a specimen had always been unlikely due to the over protectiveness of my father and being homeschooled for most of my life.
I cannot let this opportunity to pass.
I know even less about a human teenager than I do of a monster teenager. I have my critter friends to help out with monsterkind, but even they are at a loss when it comes to humans.
Jane looks away from her notes to see the subject hanging out with the casketball team.
Subject Sora is currently in the middle of the ritual known Casketball practice.
From my understanding humans are not as physically fit as most species as monsters, but Subject Sora seems to be more capable than many of them. Faster than a werewolf, more agile than a vampire, and strength to rival a minotaur.
The ghoul looks through the grate to see the normie easily maneuvering around his teammates. Sora stops for a moment as if he is alerted to something. The boy turns to a nearby duct.
Fearing that she had been discovered, Jane ducks a little bit. Peeking back through, she takes note that Sora has continued with the other monsters.
Even his senses seem to be on a higher level. It is not surprising that he is such a capable normie as he is also a predator. Subject Sora uses a tool known as a keyblade to hunt these soulless creatures known as Heartless.
The subject of the Heartless are a study for another time.
Jane looks back out at the court to see that the subject of her study missing. With a sigh, the jungle ghoul continues with her notes.
Despite being so different from all the monsters Subject Sora treats all of them as if they're the same. I'm curios as to why this is. Segregation, as sad as it may be is not uncommon among monsterkind, but due to recent events, relations of monsters of different species improved. However! Among humans, it is far too common even with laws and regulations against it in their society. None too greater than the hate and fear they have against monsterkind.
How is one normie able to get along with so many different monsters?
"You could ask?"
Yes. perhaps I could ask him?
One day.
Maybe.
"Why not now?"
Because I…
Jane stops as she finally registers that the voice she hears is not one of her own thoughts. Turning the ghoul finds the subject of her study right next to her in the airduct. Jane lets out a small squeak as she instinctually rises with intent to flee, only to hit her head on the top of the airduct. "Ow!"
"Oooh, Sorry! Are you okay" Sora apologies and reaches up to the ghoul's head to examine it. "It's just a bump. You'll be fine. But you should still probably see the nurse."
She didn't know what to do. Jane's social skills are still lacking. She is only able to talk to a few people here at Monster High and even fewer of them were boys. The ghoul is now regretting not accepting Frankie's offer to borrow some magazines.
"Did you know that you sometimes talk when taking notes," the boy picks up the journal that Jane had dropped at some point. He briefly glances at it before handing it back to the ghoul. "You're Jane, right?" Sora only receives a nod from her. "Frankie has told me quite a bit about you. I can help you with this research thing you're doing. I'll be happy to answer any questions you have."
"R-r-rea…" Jane opens her mouth a couple of times trying to reply. But she keeps falling short.
"We don't have to right now," he holds out a hand. "Let me see your phone." Jane digs out her iCoffin and gives it to the normie. Sora smiles and with a flash, takes a selfie. He then types on the device before handing it back to the ghoul. "Here you go. You now have my number. So, whenever you're ready to talk, just give me a call," the boy starts backing away. "See you around, Jane."
Jane waited until he was gone before looking at her iCoffin. It shows a picture of the subject with the goofiest smile she has ever seen. The ghoul smiles and briefly considers going ahead and call the boy. That was until she heard someone approaching her. She turns to see Sora rounding the corner, stops, and stares wide eyed at the jungle ghoul.
Sora smiles at her as sweat drops from his forehead. "I seem to have gone in a circle. Getting in here is easier than getting out," he admits. "You wouldn't happen to know which way?"
Jane gives a shy nod before gesturing for the normie to follow her out.
