Sora and Gigi Grant
Gigi has just closed her locker when a voice shouts her name.
"Hey, Gigi!"
The genie sighs before putting on a smile as she knew where this is going. The ghoul turns to see a certain fire elemental running up to her. "Heath, how can I help you?"
"The guys were talking about all this neat stuff they were going to show off after school. I told them that I had something awesome."
"That's nice, Heath. So, what did you bring?"
"That's the thing," sweat drops from his forehead. "I don't have anything. I was kinda hope'n you could hook a guy up. You know, let me use a wish?"
And there it is. "Very well. What is your wish?"
Heath's hair catches on fire. "That's great! I need something that no one else has. Something like a sword. No! A fire sword. Gigi, I wish I had a fire sword!"
Gigi sighs as her magic builds up within her. "As you wish." The ghoul folds her arms over each other and nods her head as a wave of magic leaves her.
"This is awesome!" the elemental swings his new fire sword around. "Wait until the guys see this!" and he soon leaves the ghoul.
The genie lets out yet another sigh.
"He could have said thank you." A voice says from behind her.
Gigi could only reply. "That's alright," she puts on a smile and faces the source of the voice to be met with the spikey haired normie. "Sora, how can I help you?"
"I was about to ask you the same thing."
That causes the ghoul to falter. "Huh?"
"You're smile. It's not real," the boy tilts his head. "Why is that?"
The pink ghoul looks way. "Nothing. Not that you'd understand," she starts walking away only to stop when Sora spoke.
"I knew another genie."
Gigi turns back to him.
"He's a friend of mine. Just like you, he was bound by a lamp for a very long time and is only freed long enough to grant some wishes. That is until another friend changed it for him. Do you have a similar problem?"
Looking into his eyes, Gigi just knew that he was being sincere. The pink ghoul walks over to a nearby bench to sit. "I may have been freed from the lamp but I'm still a servant of wishes. No matter what, I cannot help but grant every desire I hear."
"And some monsters take advantage of that," Sora nods in understanding as he sits next to her.
"Yes," the genie sighs. "There are very few monsters that don't use me like that. Howleen and Twyla are my beast friends and I know that they'll never use me in such a way. And the Fear Squad are considerate about my feelings, but they do tend to slip up once in a while," she shrugs. "You know, just thinking out loud and made a wish as a joke."
"How come you don't just ignore the wish?"
"It's not that simple, Sora. Whenever someone makes a wish my magic surges through me, and I'm forced to let it out. Sometimes, I wish I could ignore them."
Sora leans back with his arms crossed. His face scrunches as he thinks. "Oh!?" the boy sits back up. "Hey! Could I have a wish?"
There it is once again. Gigi sighs. "You don't have to ask, Sora. You can just say what you want, and I'll grant it."
"I know that. But I don't want to force you into this. If you say no, then that'll be it and we'll still be friends," he gives her this goofy smile and Gigi returns it. "There it is. A real smile."
The pink ghoul starts blushing. "I will gladly grant your wish. What do you desire?"
"I wish for you to be able to choose." That threw Gigi off her guard. "I wish that when you hear a wish, you can choose whether or not to grant it."
Gigi feels her magic building up within her once again. But this time it felt different. It's more powerful than what she's used to. "As you wish," with a nod, the magic is dispelled from her body. The ghoul looks herself over as if expecting to see something different.
Sora puts a hand on her shoulder. "Did it work?"
"I… don't know."
Just then Heath runs up to them. "Gigi, I accidently dropped the fire sword into the deep end of the pool. So, I need another one. Gigi, I wish for another fire sword!" the elemental holds his hand up, waiting for it to appear.
Gigi glances at her hands, noticing the lack of the magic build up. Then she stares wide eyed at the yellow boy and simply says, "No!"
"Huh?"
The ghoul lets out a laugh. "No, I will not grant your wish!"
"Aw, man!" Heath slumps down and leaves them.
The genie lets out a breath she had unknowingly been holding in. "That felt so good!" the ghoul turns to hug Sora. "I had no idea that saying no would feel this great. Thank you, Sora."
"Don't mention it, Gigi. I'm just glad to be able to help a friend," the two break a part. "Now there's no unnecessary wish granting. Perhaps you could live out your own wishes?"
"Right now, I just wish to go out. See a boovie and be able to hang out without any worries of overhearing someone's wish and act on it."
"Granted."
"Huh?"
"There's a new showing at the theater in the Maul. After that, we could go for pizza."
"I-I would love that."
"Okay. Then I'll see you after school," Sora then walks away.
.oOo.
Gigi wanders through the halls until she came across a familiar pink haired werewolf.
"Hey, Gigi!" Howleen calls out. "What's up?"
"I think Sora just asked me out."
The werewolf squints her eyes in a suspicious manner. "You sure he didn't just wish for a date? If so, then I'll gladly claw his eyes out."
"Actually," Gigi smiles as a warm feeling rises in her. "I wished for it." is this what it's like to have your desires given to you. No wonder monsters were always spouting their wishes at her.
