Sora and Moanica D'kay

"Finally!" Dracula says with glee as he stands back admiring his handywork. The Vampire turns to the tiny spider next to him. "There we go, Webby. We will no longer have a problem closing this door," he gestures to the entrance of his classroom before shutting it. "See?" the man turns to see the spider giving him a thumbs up. "Now, time to prep for my next less—" as Dracula goes to open the door he runs into a problem. "It's locked? Ugh!" Drac pats his pockets. "Where are my keys? There they are," the headmaster notes as he peeks through the window of the door. "Sitting on my desk. Oh well. I'll just use my spare. Which I keep in my desk…" he slouches. "In… my… classroom. Perhaps I am to old for this," he adds with a sigh.

"Hey, Drac!" a voice startles the vampire.

"Ah!" the teacher nearly jumps up to the ceiling. "Sora? You nearly jumpstarted my heart."

"Sorry, Mr. D," the boy smiles as he sets his hands behind his head. "Is there a problem?"

"Afraid so," Dracula gestures to the door. "You know how this thing keeps opening by itself in the middle of class?"

"Yeah."

"Well, the good news, I fixed it," the man boasts before slouching again. "Bad news, it's locked, and I left the keys inside."

"What about the spare?"

The man sighs. "It's also in the room. I'll have to tear the door off to get it back."

"Or I could just do this," Sora steps in front of the door and with his hand held out, he summons his keyblade. A beam of light emits from the tip and heads towards the lock on the door. A click can be heard just before the light dies down. "There you go."

Dracula turns the nob and is ecstatic at being able to open the door. "Ah ha! Thank you, my boy. You're pretty handy with that keyblade, you know. To think I thought you were dangerous to keep around. Glad to see that I was wrong about you," the vampire walks into the room. "Even though you are still human."

"Thanks," Sora tilts his head. "I think." At that moment a set of hands throws a bag over the boy's head as another grabs him and drags him away.

"I was going to cancel this evening's class. But thanks to you…" the teacher stops after he turns to see the empty space where the spikey haired kid was standing. "Where'd he go?" he turns to Webby who only shrugs in return as he wasn't watching either.

.oOo.

The Ghoul Squad has just returned from yet another mission and are discussing what to do next when the school's number one nuisance approaches them.

"Hey, you sorry excuses for monsters!" the zombie ghoul shouts causing each member of the Squad to let out a groan of displeasure.

They turn to the grey skinned monster and Cleo asks. "What in Ra's name to you want, Moanica?"

Moanica glares at them for a moment. "Have you ghouls seen my Zomboys? They have disappeared. Estúpidos." She mumbles the last part.

As much as the ghouls don't like Moanica, the Zomboys are not that bad. When they're not taking orders from their leader anyway.

Draculaura is the first to step up. "We can help you find them, Moanica. We'll just—"

"Don't bother!" the zombie stomps off. "I don't need your help. I'll find the Zomboys on my own," Moanica snarls as she rounds the corner.

"She has quite a temper on her. Such a drama queen," Cleo comments before noticing the other ghouls staring at her. "What!?"

What none of them knew was that as soon as Moanica was out of sight, a bag was thrown over her head just as a couple sets of arms snatches her away.

.oOo.

Sora felt himself being forced into a seat. The bag is removed from his head and the first thing the boy sees is Moanica sitting across from him with a clothed table between the two. Behind her are a couple of the Zomboys.

The ghoul has the irritated look that Sora has come to know her for. Her body is turned to the side with her arms cross, refusing to meet the normie in the eyes.

Looking at his surroundings, the boy finds that they are in a large chamber that Sora recognizes as the one being right under Clawdeen's Salon.

Sora looks over at the ghoul to ask, "Why are we here, Moanica?"

Moanica hisses in return, "I haven't the foggiest idea," she points behind her. "This is all their doing."

The boy raises a brow at that, "Really, now? From experience, these guys don't really know how to tie their shoes without your instructions. Uh," he turns to the nearest Zomboy. "No offense."

The Zomboy looks down at his feet to see the untied laces of his footwear. He then looks up at Sora with a shrug as he lets out a moan in agreement.

The human turns back to Moanica. "So, tell them to let me go."

"I've been telling them that for twenty minutes now," she glares at him. "In case you haven't noticed, I am in the same boat as you are."

"You expect me to believe that? I know these guys well enough to know that they'd never go against you."

The Zombie ghoul huffs as she looks away from the normie again as a tint of red appears on her face. "They will if they believe it's in my favor."

It was at that moment that three more Zomboys walk in. One pushing a cart with dome covered platters, another carrying a candle stick in one hand and a small vase of flowers in the other, and the last with violin. Sora stares dumbfounded, as plates are set in front of both of them and the candle stick set between them with the flowers near the edge of the table. A Zomboy nearly sets his sleave on fire lighting the candle, it adds enough light that the redness on Moanica's face to deepen as she sneers. Soon, the Zomboy with the violin starts playing the instrument slightly out of tune just as another Zomboy removes the domes to reveal a freshly cooked meal. Some glasses are set in front of them and another Zomboy pours soda into the glasses.

"Is this…" Sora looks from the food in front of him and over at the ghoul. "…a date?" he notices Moanica stiffening at the mention of that. "It is, isn't it?"

"Of course it's not," the ghoul hisses. "Why on Earth would I date a pathetic human?"

"Come on, Moanica. You said so yourself. These guys wouldn't do this unless they think it's for you. What have you been telling them?" when he got a huff as an answer, the boy shrugs. "Alright then. Guess I'll have to ask them myself," Sora turns to the nearest Zomboy. "So, what has she been saying about me?" At that, the Zomboy happily lets out a set of moans and groans.

Moanica lets out a small laugh. As if any of what the Zomboy said would make sense to the normie.

"Really? She said that?" Sora gets an uh-huh from the Zomboy. The boy then turns back to the ghoul. "So, my eyes tend to sparkle?"

That catches Moanica off guard. "You know what he's saying? Nobody has ever understood my Zomboys but me! How?"

"Well," the spikey haired normie has scratches his head. "I'm not exactly sure. It's less that I hear what they're saying and more that I feel what they're saying," he places a hand over his heart. "How come you never said anything?"

"Because I'm disgusted!" she snaps at the boy. "I'm disgusted with myself that I find you even the slightest bit attractive. With your annoying but cute smile, your dumb cool hair, and, and—"

"My sparkling eyes," Sora finishes for her causing Moanica's blush to return as she crosses her arms, turns away, and mumbles something in Spanish. "Is it really so bad for you to consider that you like me?"

At that, Moanica slams her fists on the table. "Of course it is! Especially since you're a human!"

"What's wrong with being human?"

"You don't understand! No one understands. How badly the human's hate hurts monsterkind! How much they hurt me!" unbeknownst to the zombie ghoul, she starts tearing up.

"You're right," Sora tells her making the ghoul go silent. "I don't understand. How could anyone understand what you've been through? Especially if you never tell anyone," he points his thumb at one of the Zomboys. "Do they even know?" Moanica's hesitation gives the normie the answer. "I'm not going to make you tell my, Moanica. You should do that on your own."

Moanica just stares at the human in front of her with disbelief. She hardly registered that a Zomboy was holding a tissue in front of her. Ghoul takes it to wipe away her tears. With sigh she asks, "So, what do we do now?"

"I guess we eat," Sora picks up some of the silver and starts cutting into what he assumes to be a steak.

The zombie ghoul looks away. "As lunch or a date?"

"It can be a date. I'm willing to give this a try if you are," the boy takes a bite. "Wow! This is delicious."

"Yeah, well, after their little bake sale, the Zomboys liked prepping the brownies so much they decided to take some cuisine courses," Moanica takes a bite as well. "And I must say that I'm impressed. Well done, Zomboys. Muy bien!" she praises them.

Hearing that, the Zomboys gave one another a pat on the back.

"I do have one condition," Sora announces.

"Ugh!" the Zombie ghoul groans. "You're not going to make me be friends with that Ghoul Squad, are you?"

"No," the boy shakes his head. "Friends cannot be forced on one another. That has to happen on its own. I won't even ask you to be nice to everyone. Who you like is for you to decide. All I ask is for you to at try not to actively be mean to everyone."

Before answering, Moanica starts grumbling. "Fine!" she holds up her hands in defeat. "I can at least try."

"That's all I ask," Sora flashes her his goofy smile that proves contagious. Even to Moanica as she smiles at the boy.

Moanica turns to her Zomboys. "You guys mind giving us some privacy?" One of them lets out some groans. "No, no, no! Me liking him does not mean I don't like you anymore," she tells them sweetly. "A date shouldn't put too much pressure on a couple. That's all. I'll make it up to you guys later and we'll go out for ice cream. How's that sound?" The same Zomboy lets out a grunt as he gestures towards Sora. "Uh, sure. If he wants to, that is." The ghoul glances at the normie as if asking him.

"I'd love to. Your friends are my friends."

At that, the Zomboys high five each other before leaving the chamber.

Once they were gone, Sora turns back to Moanica. "Well, best not to let this go to waste. The Zomboys worked hard," the boy picks up his glass. "Here's to the start of something new!"

"I can toast to that," the ghoul raises her own.

Once their glasses clank together, the two are blinded by a flash of light. When their vision cleared up, they find that the Ghoul Squad has landed on the table, knocking everything off.

"Sora! Twyla says she saw the Zomboys taking…" Draculaura stops to take a look at her surroundings. "Uh, are we interrupting something?"

Before Sora answered to reassure the ghouls, he glances at Moanica and sees her face reddening as she glares at the Ghoul Squad. "Moanica, that thing I said about not being mean. I think we can let it slide just once. This time."

A tiny smile appeared on the zombie's face before glaring back at the ghouls. "Do you fools have any idea what you just did!? You ruined the hard work of my Zomboys! That's what! Idiotas!"

"Well sorry!" Clawdeen snaps at Moanica. "Once we got word that your Zomboys kidnapped our human friend, we were afraid that you were going to zombify him."

"I would never do that!"

Cleo scoffs. "And why should we believe you?"

"Because then I'm afraid that he wouldn't like me!" Moanica shouts with her face getting redder, shutting everyone up.

"Hey, guys!" Draculaura speaks as she picks up some flowers. "I think we teleported right in the middle of their date?"

Everyone turns to Moanica's face reddening as she avoids eye contact with them and then at Sora who smiles with a nod.

The vampire lets out a cough. "Well, then," she starts pushing her friends towards the exit. "I guess we should leave you to it."

When they were gone, the zombie lets out a sigh. "So much for a first date."

Sora heads for the exit. "I hear first dates are supposed to be bad. Having a second date shows that you're willing to keep trying. Come on!" the boy turns to the ghoul with his hand out towards her. "We promised the Zomboys ice cream."

Moanica smiles as she accepts the offer and the two walk out hand in hand.

End

NOTE: This would take place in an AU of Monster Hearts if he ended up in the world of G2 Monster High. Not entirely sure how that story would go and I don't plan on exploring it anytime so.
