Blood flowed on the ground.

A puddle spread across the tiled floor. It was her blood and her right arm that was a few feet away from her with her gun still in her palm.

She heard a mechanical noise again and pulled away abruptly.

When she turned her head she saw the mantis blade and the blood running down the steel.

Arya was shaking.

The loss of blood, the dots appearing at the corner of his eye, the cold could have explained his tremors. But she knew that feeling well.

She was terrified.

The man approached her with a carnivorous smile. But instead of running she found her back against a wall.

Helpless, she was helpless.

A cybernetic hand slowly approached her face.

"Don't dare."

Suddenly the cyberpsycho was thrown to the ground. The body of the one who had saved her was advancing at an inhuman speed.

"Princesa stay conscious." said the one she now remembered to be one of her bodyguards.

She saw two blurry shapes clash, metal against metal. The cyberpsycho's cries of frustration kept her awake.

Soon hee other bodyguards joined the fight. Despite the help that was given to her, she couldn't help but feel worried.

Too long, the fight was taking too long.

The man was surrounded and yet he was still standing. His right hand had been severed at the wrist, but he was using his blades with expert technique. Then suddenly the fighters resumed normal speed.

The Valentinos who had come to her aid collapsed to the ground. His open, empty eyes stared at her.

Then another fell right after.

Then another.

A minute, an hour, a month.

"Death is certain." she whispered

Another dead on the ground.

Arya's gaze shifted to her amputated arm.

Another breathed his last. Only one of the six her father had sent was left.

"Death is certain" she whispered then rushed to her arm.

She heard a final moan as her hand closed around the gun and turned around.

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

"Death is certain, but the time to die is not."

A lifeless body collapsed.

Arya stared at the gaping hole that replaced her opponent's eye. Four shots in the eye he cherished so much. The only thing he had managed to keep intact was his greatest weakness.

I don't know his name, she thought.

"Finally this MaxDoc will be used for something" she said moaning.

She took it out of her jacket slowly but her arm approached her face too slowly, then instead of going up, it went down.

Footsteps approached her and clear eyes met hers.

"You have very beautiful eyes." She heard herself say.

Something landed on her face then.

" Breathe the Max, fuck, Breathe, don't die on me."

The voice sounded panicked.

Arya obeyed and suddenly her vision cleared.

"You scared the crap out of me." Said the young woman with a sigh.

"I don't die so easily."

"Your blood draining onto the floor says otherwise." Arya smiled at those words.

"You need help, the MaxDoc won't be enough."

"Just take me to this address." Arya said hoarsely giving her the address of where her father had taken her when she was injured. Arya felt an arm lift her.

"Do you have a car?"

"No..."

"No car, shit."

" Parking." Arya whispered as if drunk.

"The elevator... don't fall asleep."

As in a dream, Arya saw the young woman dragged her into an elevator and dropped her on the cold floor.

"You owe me dinner after that." The young woman muttered before pressing the word "parking"

"Wait here, there's always an idiot who forgot his keys." She said before leaving Arya at the bottom of the elevator.

Her arm was on fire, the MaxDoc had slowed the bleeding, but the pain was still there. The sound of an engine soon approached her and quickly she was settled in the passenger seat.

Arya's head bobbed from side to side as the city lights flashed by. The rain was falling hard on the windshield and cradling her. She felt her eyes close.

"Do not fall asleep !"

"I try, I try really hard." Suddenly music resounded in the passenger compartment and made her jump.

"I didn't steal this car for you to die in, princesa"

"Just Arya, I'm not a princess."

"The bodyguards seemed to think you were nobility."

"I sent them to their death."

"No one forced them to stay."

"Yes, the honor of the Valentinos and their love for me."

"Love...I don't believe in that."

" Sad." Said Arya observing the cold face of the young woman.

"A lot of people in Night City are like that."

"You have a dream."

The young woman then laughed.

"I'm more likely to end up like a doll than to realize it."

" What is your dream?"

"You really meddle in what doesn't concern you, huh."

"Curiosity has often saved my life."

A silence ensued.

"Actress, I want to be an actress. Go ahead and laugh. How a poor girl from the slums could be an actress." Arya smiled then.

"You already have a fan." The young woman turned to Arya with a surprised look.

"You really are a weird girl. Why did you help me?"

"Because I could."

"Thank you, I don't know many knights in this town."

"It was a pleasure my lady"

" Evelyn Parker, but I prefer to be called Eve."
