The next chapter is here, and this and the next one will be a bit of a break chapter, to get the guppies ready for their next travel adventure. This chapter will also introduce a mysterious new character who may or may not join the guppies on their adventure. But without any spoilers, let's get into it.
Chapter 9: Assisting Animals
It had been a few days since the Bubble Guppies had completed the first temple trial, where Molly and Goby had to go through tough tests and a very hard fight with a member of the Sizzling Six, but they prevailed in the end, and Molly learned a new move as well. The group were approaching the entrance to the village, where they were greeted by the townsfolk, who cheered for their arrival back home.
"Welcome back!
"You're all OK!"
"You survived!"
"Thank you everyone for the kind messages, we all appreciate it" Molly said to the townsfolk. "We've managed to come back from the Windy Tundra, and completed the first temple" Molly said to them. They all cheered. Glacia and Lady Snowa appeared to them.
"Hello again kids. I suppose you've completed the first temple?" Snowa asked them.
"We did! Me and Goby also found this scroll in there too" Molly said, handing the scroll over to Glacia, who read it. Both sisters smiled.
"Well done kids. And Molly, I suppose you've also learned the move on here too?" Glacia asked Molly.
"Oh yes! I almost forgot" Molly shouted. She blasted a beam of ice into the air, surprising the townspeople, who cheered for them after seeing the move.
"Very good Molly!" Glacia said to her. "And don't think I forgot about you Goby. Did you help Molly with the temple at all, cause she would've needed it" Glacia asked Goby.
"Oh yeah, I sure did. It was no easy task. We almost died a couple of times, it was pretty intense, especially the part where one of Pyro's elite team members attacked us, but we won" Goby said. The sisters were shocked.
"It seems that Pyros knows about the temples and the power they hold. I guess that he sent out the Sizzling Six to make sure you guys don't make it to the temples" Snowa said.
"The Sizzling Six?" They all confusingly asked.
"Yes, Pyro's most dangerous team of assassins, as well as in the world. Trained in every form of fire combat. Most targets of them don't come out alive" Glacia said to them. "You guys better be careful out there, as they're very tough, especially their leader".
"But enough of that, I want you all to follow me" Snowa said.
"Where are we going?" Deema asked her.
"We are going to the BlizzardTucky temple. It is at the farthest end of the village" Snowa said. They all walked towards the temple. On the way there, Molly asked Glacia about the temple.
"E-Excuse me Master Glacia?" Molly said to her.
"Yes dear?"
"Will I ever go into the temple at all?" Molly asked her.
"Yes. You will be attempting the trial of this temple, but only at the end of your journey. It will be your final test of everything you've learned, from your powers to your friendship with your friends" Glacia explained to her.
"We're here" Snowa said. The temple was huge, bigger than the one in the Windy Tundra. It had statues of a person, presumably a previous Ice Queen. "This place has been here for a thousand years, and is where the Ice Princess masters her powers completely" Snowa explained.
"Wow, it's massive!" Gil exclaimed.
The group went up the stairs to the top of the temple, where 7 pillars were, with a slot for a scroll of some kind. Snowa inserted the scroll into the mechanism, which began to power up, causing a bright flash, which summoned another map.
"It…made another map" Deema said confusingly.
"This map will guide you to your next temple. It is located in the Mystical Forest, which is located east of Coldnic Town, which isn't too far from here, but is still a long walk to get there" Glacia explained to them.
"So there are other towns besides BlizzardTucky. Maybe they will be nice too" Gil thought.
"How long will it take for us to get there?" Oona asked.
"It will be about a few days before you arrive there, but you won't be leaving today. You guys can have a break for a day or two, so you all better get back to the hotel, it is getting late" Glacia told them.
"Thank you Glacia, Lady Snowa" They all said as they left to go to the hotel.
"Sister, why don't you let the mayor of Coldnic town know of their arrival?" Glacia asked her sister.
"Ok, but only when they leave. I don't want to make them wait for an extra two days" Snowa replied back.
At the hotel, the guppies said goodnight to each other and entered their rooms. We will focus on the trio's room, where Zooli was in the shower, while Nonny and Oona were on the bed. Oona had a face that signaled that she was worried about something. Nonny notices this.
"Everything OK Oona?" he asked her.
"I don't know. It's just that…I'm worried about our home…and what's happened there. What if Pyros destroyed everything there, and possibly our friends and families? They could be dead right now!" Oona said to him loudly, causing him to flinch. Oona started to tear up. "I just…want to go home now…" she said with tears. Nonny was feeling bad for her, and decided to hug her.
"Oona, it's OK. Everythings going to be OK. I'm sure Pyros wouldn't hurt our families, so they're fine. We're going to save them once we go back, and we will do this, I promise" Nonny confidently tells her, having a small smile on his face. Oona cries even more, but then smiles and hugs him even harder.
"Thanks Nonny" Oona said to him. Oona then starts to come closer to his face, which makes the boy startled. They were about to kiss when-
"Ahem" someone said. They turned to see Zooli, who came out of the bathroom with her towel, staring at them with a confused look. They both stop hugging and blush hard, which makes Zooli chuckle. "You guys do this way too much" she said. "Anyway, your turn Nonny" Zooli says. Nonny gets up and enters the bathroom. Oona looks at her with a look.
"What? I come out of the bathroom and that's the first thing I see, what did you expect my reaction to be?" Zooli said to her, making Oona laugh. They sat there in silence for a minute when Oona decided to tell Zooli about her worries.
"Hey Zooli, can I tell you something?" Oona asked her friend.
"Sure, what is it?" Zooli replied.
"I've been worried about BubbleTucky. What if Pyros already destroyed it and our friends and families? Do you think we can save them?" she told her. The girl stood there, and put her hand on her shoulder.
"Of course we can Oona, but we have to get stronger first. We also have to help Molly too, as she's the only one who can stop Pyros. We will defeat him, I promise" Zooli explained to her. The pig-tailed girl hugged Zooli.
"Thank you Zooli, I really needed that" Oona said to her.
"No problem Oona, that's what friends are for!" Zooli said. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get dressed, I'm…(yawns)...tired" Zooli said while yawning. Noony came out of the bathroom and told Oona it was her turn. She got up and entered. Nonny already had his pajamas on.
"You think she's gonna be okay?" Zooli asked Nonny.
"I don't know Zooli, but I'm sure Oona will be able to overcome it. She's strong, smart, and kind. She's also the most skilled out of all of us, so she can overcome anything" Nonny said to her.
"That's awfully strange of you to say" Zooli said, giving him a mischievous look.
"W-what do you mean?" Nonny said nervously.
"Oh never mind, you'll figure it out" Zooli said, chuckling. Nonny was confused, but didn't think about it. Zooli then closed her eyes and went to sleep. Nonny turned the lights off and started to read his book. A couple minutes later, Oona came out of the shower with her hair down and a towel around her. She was quiet, as to not wake Zooli up.
"She's already asleep now huh?" she whispered to Nonny as she got dressed.
"Yeah, guess she's tired" Nonny said while blushing and looking away, which Oona noticed, but didn't say anything but giggled quietly. She then got into bed and snuggled next to Nonny.
"I'm tired now, we better go to sleep" Oona said. Nonny nodded his head, putting his glasses and book down.
"Goodnight Nonny" Oona said in a flirtatious tone.
"Goodnight Oona" Nonny said.
They both went to sleep, snuggling with each other. What they didn't notice was that Zooli was pretending to be asleep until Oona came out. She was looking at them, giving a smile and quietly giggling.
"No wonder people ship them, they're perfect" she quietly whispered to herself, and went to sleep. Meanwhile, a figure was on the roof above their room, listening to everything, and had a smirk on her face.
"She doesn't seem as strong as he says she is. She'll be a piece of cake to take care of, along with that pink-haired brunette" the figure said, jumping off the roof and headed in the direction of the temple.
In the morning, everyone was sleeping in because they were on break. Zooli woke up, well rested, and questioned as to why she heard the shower on so early when she noticed Oona wasn't in her bed with Nonny, who was still fast asleep. She got up, cleaned and dressed herself and went to go find her friend.
Oona was sitting in the cafe, eating a bagel with some milk. She looked well rested and hungry. Zooli then came up to her.
"Hey Oona, what're you doing up early? It's only 9:30 in the morning" Zooli asked her.
"I wanted to…get up…early to eat…" Oona nervously said.
"You're still thinking about that, aren't you?" Zooli said to her. She just sighed.
"Yeah, I am. I just can't stop thinking about home. I'm scared that Pyros hurt my family, my brother, mom, and dad" Oona explained.
"Oona, I already told you, everythings going to be fine. You need to stop worrying so much. I understand you're worried, I am too, but that doesn't mean you should constantly think about it, or else it'll take over" Zooli told her in a serious tone
"Yeah…I guess you're right" Oona said to her. Zooli decided to get some food for herself, since she was hungry too. About half an hour goes by, and then the others show up with their food.
"So how did everyone sleep?" Molly asked everyone.
"I slept like a little angel. Quiet as can be!" Deema said loudly.
"Yeah…quiet" Goby said mockingly.
"Me and Gilly slept well too. We both were very tired" Molly said.
"Yeah, I was pretty tired. I wanted to keep sleeping when Bubble Puppy woke me up" Gil said. Bubble Puppy barked happily.
"What about you guys, how did you sleep?" Moll asked Oona, Nonny, and Zooli.
"We slept good. Me and Oona got up early cause we were hungry" Zooli said to her.
"I also slept well. I was wondering why you two weren't in the room though, got me worried there" Nonny said to them.
"We just didn't want to wake you up Nonny. Sorry if we worried you" Oona replied.
"So since we're on break, what do we want to do? I say we each do our own things, like exploring different parts of the town" Deema proposed to them.
"Ooh! I saw an animal hospital near here, and I wanted to go there!"
"I'll come too. Maybe we can help out there possibly"
"You guys can do that. I saw an art place near here. You want to come with me Molly?" Deema asked her pink-haired friend.
"Sure! I love drawing, so that'll be fun!" she excitedly said.
"Do you guys want to come with me to the carpenter?" Nonny asked Gil and Goby.
"What's a carpenter?" Gil asked him.
"A carpenter is someone who makes or repairs wooden objects and structures" Nonny explained.
"Sure, we'll come! Right Goby" Gil said.
"Yeah, that sounds like fun. We did build Bubble Puppy that doghouse that one time" Goby said.
"OK, so here's the plan. We each go do our own things, and meet by the restaurant near the temple by 6:00 PM. Got it?" Molly explained. They all nodded their heads. "We then. Let's go!" she shouted. It was now 10:30 AM, and all the guppies had left to go explore the village.
Oona and Zooli were swimming towards the animal hospital, hoping to be able to help out there. The place was big, but not too big. It was one story tall, and had a statue of a fish on the roof. When they entered the building, there were a lot of animals inside, most of which the girls had never seen before. They both admired the animals, Oona taking it a bit too far.
"OH MY GOODNESS! LOOK AT ALL THESE CUTIES!" Oona screamed. She went and petted almost every single one, while being sure not to hurt them, as this was an animal hospital. Zooli was also admiring the animals, but not to the degree of Oona.
"What was that loud noise?" Someone said in a room, causing the girls to stop what they were doing. Out came the doctor. She was an adult female guppy with brown hair, blue eyes, and a purple and yellow tail. She had a lab coat and doctor stuff on her.
"Oh, hi there! Didn't know I had guests" the woman said.
"Hi there! Sorry for the ruckus! My name's Zooli, and this is my friend Oona" Zooli introduced them. Oona waved. She chuckled.
"Nice to meet you both! My name is Sally, and I run the animal hospital" Sally introduced herself. "You two can look around and look at the animals if you want, just make sure to be careful with them" she said to them. They nodded their heads and went to go look around.
Oona was busy holding and caring for some of the creatures. She was so excited to see animals she had never seen before, snuggling and feeding some of them too. Zooli was also looking at the animals too. She was amazed by some of the creature's physical traits, and was writing some down in a little journal. Sally notices this and comes up to her.
"Hey, that's a pretty cool journal. What's it for?" Sally asked her.
"It's something my father gave to me when I was little. He told me to use it to write down facts about different animals, since that's what I wanted to do when I grow up" Zooli explained to her. Sally then notices a dog tag, similar to ones from the military on the journal. "Say, what's with the tag on there? Did someone give that to you?" she asked Zooli. She just went silent with a shocked look on her face.
"It's…it's…a gift from my dad…as a farewell gift" Zooli sadly said. Everyone in the room, including Oona, went silent. Sally took some time to realize it, but when she did, she asks her an important question.
"Zooli…is your dad-" she asks her. Zooli nods her head, starting to cry.
"My dad was critically wounded in a shooting while helping people escape from a mall. He fought the shooter, but was shot down until police arrived. When we got to the hospital, the doctor told us that he was wounded to the point where they couldn't do anything. He wasn't going to make it" Zooli said with tears in her eyes. Both Oona and Sally were shook to the core.
"My mom, brother and I were devastated, especially me, as I was only 7 years old. When it was my turn to go up, I couldn't stop crying. My dad looked at me, and told me that he'd never forget me, and handed me the dog tag. He said it was a way for me to never forget him. He served in the army for 5 years. He was always there for me and my family, and he told me to never give up, and to help others" Zooli explained. "Then he gave me a kiss and layed down, which is when the machine flatlined. I screamed for him to wake up, effortlessly trying to bring him back. To this day, I still (sniff) never forgot him, and…and…" That was the breaking point for Zooli. She dropped her journal and started crying heavy tears on the ground, letting it all out at once. Oona came to comfort her, hugging her while she was crying. Sally was starting to tear up too.
"Oh my…I had no idea that had happened to you Zooli. I'm so sorry for your loss, I understand it hurts" Sally said to her. Zooli got up and wiped her tears.
"It's OK, I really needed to do that. And thank you Oona" Zooli thanked them.
"It's alright Zooli, I know what it's like to lose a young family member" Oona said. Suddenly a loud noise was heard from a room.
"What was that?" Oona said.
"I don't know, let's go find out!" Sally said.
They rushed to the room to see a large rabbit that looked like it was growing icicles out of its body limping towards Sally. She picked it up, analyzing it.
"Oh you poor thing, it's hurt!" Sally said.
"Can you girls help me treat this Rabbice?" Sally asked them.
"Of course we can! We love helping animals" Zooli said.
"Good. I need you both to go into the closet and get some disinfectant to spay the wound, and some bandages and carrots to care for it"
"Got it!" They both said. Zooli and Oona went into the closet, which was pretty big, making it hard to find what they needed. They eventually found the disinfectant and supplies they needed, and brought them to Sally. She fed the Rabbice carrots while Zooli sprayed the disinfectant on, and Oona precisely wrapped the bandages on it. Sally then put it back into its bed.
"Well done girls! I'm impressed with how well you handled this. Now I need you to go into the pantry and get some pillows and milk for it while I treat it" Sally told them.
Both girls went into the pantry. Inside, Oona noticed her friend wasn't herself, and being the nice person she is, asked her.
"Zooli, are you OK?" Oona asked her.
"Yeah, I just…miss my dad. I really want him back now, so he can see me again" Zooli explained.
"Zooli, your dad is probably looking down at you right now, and is probably so proud of you, his daughter, escaping from Pyros, and helping something you don't even know! You listened to what he said to you about helping others, and I'm sure he couldn't be happier" Oona comforted her.
"Thanks Oona, you're the best friend I've ever had" Zooli said, thanking her. They both got the supplies and brought them to Sally, and together, the Rabbice was fast asleep.
"Thank you so much girls, I couldn't have done this without you"
"You're welcome Sally, that's what Bubble Guppies do!" Oona said to her.
"You guys are welcome to come back here anytime you want to help out! Take care you too!" Sally said to them.
'Bye Sally!" both girls said, waving as they left.
"Well that was nice, we should do that more often" Oona said to Zooli.
"Yeah, that was actually kinda cool to help out" Zooli said when Oona grabbed her.
'Zooli look!" Oona said, pointing to a person. It was a young male guppy with a hoodie on. He had a light blue and red tail with brown eyes. He was eating a bagel outside the bakery.
"It's probably just another kid here, let's go" Zooli said, but Oona wasn't thinking that. She approached the boy.
"Hi there! I'm Oona, what's your name?" she asked the boy. He looks up at her, but quickly backs away.
"St-stay away from me, I mean no harm!" he said, scared of them. This shocked both girls, who looked at each other.
"Is everything OK?" Zooli asked him.
"I..I'm…not allowed to tell anyone" he nervously said.
"It's okay, we're not going to hurt you" Oona said to him. He sighed and took off his hoodie, revealing his black hair, with a symbol that shocked both girls.
"Yes, I'm related to Pyros, but not in the way that you think!" he said.
"What do you mean?" Oona asked. Zooli was just staring at him, his whole body.
"My name is Cryo, and I am the son of Pyros. I left my father because he was crazy, and tortured me because along with natural fire powers, I also have ice powers, but not to a degree of your friend. I came here to seek shelter, where Lady Snowa adopted me as her own, and vowed to protect me from danger" Cryo explained. Oona was shocked at his explanation.
"Oh my! What should we do Zooli? Zooli?" Oona asked her, but she was too busy staring at him like she's seen something cute for the first time.
"Is your friend OK?" Cryo asked her, to which she shrugs. Zooli then snaps back to reality.
"Uh…yeah I'm fine! We have to go now, bye cutie-I mean Cryo!" Zooli said in a panic as she grabbed Oona's arm and swam off.
Oona and Zooli were swimming towards the restaurant when Oona managed to let go of Zooli and grabbed her arm.
"Zooli what the heck was that all about? You were more silent than a cuttlefish singing!" Oona asked her.
"I…was…shocked about his story…hehe" Zooli nervously said. Oona took this time to think about it, when she gasped and gave her and gives her the you know what smirk.
"Oona..what're you doing?" Zooli scaredly asked.
"Zooli…you like Cryo, don't you?" Oona asked her. Zooli blushed darker than Nonny does.
"NO! Of course not Oona!" she yelled at her, but she leans in closer.
"I don't know what you're talking about" she said, but Oona was getting closer. Nowhere left to go, she gives up and nods her head slowly.
"AAAHHH I KNEW IT!" Oona screamed like a fangirl and hugged her. Zooli pushes her off.
"Yeah, yeah, just…promise you won't tell the others" Zooli asked her.
"Don't worry Zooli, I won't" Oona replied. They kept walking when they fell into a hole.
"HEY! Who put this hole here?!" Zooli yelled.
"Oh! I'm so sorry, here take my hand!" someone said. She pulled them both out of the hole.
"I'm so sorry, that hole is used to catch robbers who are stealing my stuff. I'm Eliza and I'm the weaponsmith"
"It's okay Eliza. Oh my god, it's almost 6:00 PM! We have to go Zooli!" she shouted. They waved goodbye and swam off.
"Hmph, this "Oona" doesn't seem as tough as she is still" Eliza said with a smirk.
Authors Notes
So this chapter took longer due to me having burnout and procrastinating, but I managed to complete it. I said this would be a break chapter, but that doesn't mean I can't throw in some intense and cool scenes in there. For now, I will answer some reviews. Also, if you didn't know, the next episode of Bubble Guppies will be a crossover episode with Baby Shark! There's already a clip of it on the official BG YouTube channel, bit the episode comes out on Friday!
ReaderandWriter9000: Hey friend! It was a great trial to show off Molly and Goby's friendship. Even though they have a brother-sister relationship, their friendship is still strong, which is how all the guppies trials will go. They deserved this rest.
PrimroseRaspberry: Glacia's secret will be revealed at the final temple, and it will be a shocker that none will expect! I'm glad you liked the first temple trial, the next one will be the opposite of who the partner is!

Post Chapter
We come to BubbleTucky and Big Bubble City, which have both been destroyed and covered in flames. In the middle, the Big Bubble Building has been converted into a large castle, which is being ruled by Pyros inside.
"Keep working everyone, or all will suffer!" he yelled at the people. "I'm bored, there's no excitement around here" he says with disappointment. A worker crab comes up to him.
"Sir, we have found Cryo's location, he is in BlizzardTucky with the guppies" it tells him.
"I see. He will definitely join them, so we will wait for them to get to the second temple. Signal Eli to go there immediately" Pyros tell him.
"Yes sir!" the crab says, wandering off. Pyros gets up and heads to a playroom. He looks through the glass, where Mia and another young guppy girl are playing together. Pyros enters and holds them both.
"You like playing with Ashley Mia?" Pyros asks her. She coos at him. "Good, because the too of you will be great sisters forever" Pyros said. He puts them down, and heads towards the elevator into an underground room, where a young adult guppy is working on something.
"Bombel, how's the progress coming along?" Pyros asks him.
"The machine is almost ready sir! With this, no one will stand in our way again!" Bombel tells him. Pyros smiles devilishly.
"Good. Get ready Bubble Guppies, as soon you won't know what will hit you!" Pyros says, laughing evilly to himself. The machine is revealed to be not a robot, but a cyborg, and the user, is a familiar adult female guppy.
