Well, it's finally here, the next chapter of this story. I apologize that it took so long to make this chapter, as school started for me last week, so I haven't really had much time to do this, but now it's here, and this will show some insight to the guppies weaknesses, as well as a little hint to a future project for a certain guppy.

Also, there will be a special announcement at the end of this chapter, and it will be an exciting one, so I hope you read till the end, but anyway, let's start it!

Chapter 13: Forest of Fear

The guppies had started their journey to Coldnic Town, location of the second temple. They had made good progress so far, thanks to Cryo, who had a map that had a shortcut to the town, but they had to get past a dangerous forest first, which is the path they were heading to.

"This has been going well so far. I'm sure this will be a breeze unlike last time" Deema confidently says.

"I wouldn't say that Deema. Glacia and Lady Snowa did say there was a dangerous forest near us" Nonny tells her.

"Do you there's going to be any m…m..monsters in the forest?" Oona asks worriedly.

"Oona, you know there's no such thing as monsters…well…at least not in this world I guess" Zooli tells her friend. The guppies get flashbacks to a certain giant lizard and ape, and remember their great battle that they will never forget.

"But…what if…there's m..more of them here?" Oona worriedly asks.

"Don't worry Oona, I'm sure there is no way another one of those things would be able to come back here" Zooli tells her. Oona sighs in relief.

"We're here guys!" Cryo shouts. They arrive at the entrance of a mysterious looking forest. It wasn't like the forest they went to on the way to the first temple, as it had no snow on it.

"What is this place Cryo?" Gil asked him.

'This is the Forest of Fear, a very dangerous place, and unfortunately, we have to cross it to get closer to Coldnic Town" Cryo tells them.

"Well what can you tell us about it?" Molly asks.

"Well, it is a dangerous place that people very rarely enter. It has a magical ability to turn your worst fears into reality due to the fog in the place. It also holds carnivorous plants in there too that eat the folks who are unlucky enough to not be able to escape and wander off. Barely anyone makes it out of here alive" Cryo explains. They all gulp and shiver.

"Ma..maybe we sh..should go another way" Oona suggests.

"We can't Oona. This is our only way to get closer to Coldnic Town" Molly tells her.

"The best thing to do in this place is to stick together, as splitting up is the worst thing to do" Cryo suggests to them.

"Alright, here's the plan: We stick together through the forest. Remember, don't split up at any time, and nobody freak out over anything" Molly explains to them. They all nod their heads, and they enter the forest, unaware of what would be greeting them there.

As they enter the forest, they see that the place isn't as pleasant as they thought. It was a dark and gloomy type of place, with the trees giving off a creepy vibe, especially with the faces on them. The guppies get scared a little bit, as they've never seen a place like this.

"This place is giving me the creeps" Gil says.

"I think this places is giving us all the creeps Gil" Deema tells him.

"Just stick together everyone, and let's keep moving" Cryo says. Oona gets near Nonny for safety, and Bubble Puppy gets in Gil's arms.

"I can't see much ahead of us, there's too much fog in the way" Goby says.

"Oh no, it's coming!" Cryo says worriedly.

"What's coming?"

"The fog is coming! We have to move faster now!" Cryo says. They all swim faster to escape the fog and forest itself. They make good progress until they spot something ahead of them that looked a bit weird. "Does anybody know what that thing ahead of us is?" Deema asks. It roars at them. It was one of the plants that were carnivorous. They all scream.

"What do we do?" Gil asks.

"Don't worry, it's just one of them. I'm sure we can take it" Zooli tells him, but just before more of the plants show up.

"You were saying?" Gil mockingly says to Zooli.

"This is a risky move, but we have to take it. Everyone split, we'll meet up at the end of the forest!" Molly shouts as they all split up with each other, with Molly going with Oona, Zooli, Nonny and Goby in another group, and Gil, Cryo and Deema in another group. The plants split up and chase after them.

Zooli, Nonny and Goby were swimming away from the plant that was chasing them. There was some vines and branches blocking them, but they managed to jump over them.

"It's still following us!" Goby shouts. The plant roars at them, and they scream.

"Wait, I have an idea! Does anyone have some kind of flame?" Nonny asked.

"I have this lighter, why do you need it?" Zooli says, pulling out the lighter.

"Plants hate fire, so hopefully this will do something" Nonny explains. He grabs a branch, and sets it on fire using the lighter. He then throws it at the plant, managing to ignite it as it runs away. They all sigh in relief.

"Good thinking Nonny" Goby says.

They continue walking down the path of the forest. While they're looking around, they all get chills from the place and its unusual life and overall vibe. The trees, fog, and atmosphere all give the trio the creeps, and they huddle together.

"I don't think I've ever seen a forest like this before, especially one with hungry plants that want to kill us" Goby says.

"I agree Goby, and I don't think this is a regular forest at all. Maybe something happened here that caused it to be like this?" Zooli wonders. Nonny then stops for a moment.

"Hey guys? Is it just me or is there fog surrounding us?" he asks. They soon realize that the fog is enveloping them.

"Let's move now!" Zooli shouts. They all try to swim out, but they ended up going separate ways instead, splitting up in different paths.

Nonny calls out for Zooli and Goby, but they don't respond.

"Why did we split up again? I don't remember us going in different directions" Nonny asks himself. He gets creeped out by the forest, but keeps moving. "I better find them soon" he says.

"RROOAR" a creature roared loudly, startling the boy. He looks around to see what made that noise, but when he can't seem to find anything, he keeps moving. Suddenly, a creature flies near him, but he ducks under it to avoid it. He turns around to see a dragon behind him.

"A d..d…dr…dragon!" Nonny scaredly says. The dragon roars at him. Nonny is terrified of dragons, so naturally, he swims away from it, but it chases him. It tries to breathe fire at him, but he dodges it.

"There's no way a dragon should exist here, not even in this kind of world" Nonny says to himself. "Wait, I remember! Cryo said that the forest turns our fears into reality!" he says, dodging a fireball in the process. "Goby! Zooli! Where are you?!" he shouts.

"Guys? Where did you go?" Goby shouts. No one answers. "Where they could've gone to?" he asks himself. Suddenly, something drops on his arm.

"Hmm…what's this?" he asks himself. His skin then shivers when he sees what it is. It was blood, and Goby did not like blood.

"B..blood?! Why is there-" he says before looking around. There was drips of blood on the trees, leaves, and ground.

"I gotta get out of here!" he shouts, swimming away from the mess.

"Zooli! Nonny! Can you hear me?!" he shouts again. "Oh man, now I'm st-starting to fr..freak out now!" Goby worriedly says him. He turns around to see something he never wanted to see. It was a blood monster following him. It made a weird noise at him.

"AHHH!" he screamed, running away from it. "Why forest! What did we do to deserve this?!" he yells.

Zooli, although being brave and confident, was starting to get creeped out now. She had never been alone in a place like this before, so she didn't know what to do. "Nonny? Goby? Are you there?" she calls out to them, but they don't answer. "I swear, they better not be pulling any pranks on me" she says. She then hears thunder, and it starts to rain.

"Huh? Rain? How could it be raining here? The temperature is too cold for rain" Zooli wonders, when a bolt of lightning almost strikes her.

"Oh no, don't tell me…"

Lightning strikes again, and again, and repeatedly. Zooli freaks out, and runs away. "Lightning!" she screams. She runs away, avoiding the lightning strikes too. She hides under a tree for safety.

"I th..think be safe here" she says. But the tree gets sliced in have by a lightning bolt. "AAHHH!" she screams loudly and runs away.

Nonny is still running away from the dragon, when he runs into a dead end. He turns around to see the dragon, now cornering him. He then gets an idea. He takes a deep breath, and charges towards it. It tries to bite him, but he goes under the dragon, appearing on the other side, and swims away. The dragon roars and follows him.

"I hope I can find Goby and Zooli soon…" he says before arriving at an intersection.

"Which way do I go?" he wonders. He then hears screaming near him, when Goby comes out of another path, with the blood monster following him.

"Goby!"

"Nonny!"

The two friends hug each other. "Where have you been?" Goby asks. "I've been wondering the same thing" he says. The dragon and monster surround them. "Is that a dragon?!" Goby shouts. "What even is that thing?" Nonny asks. "You know what nevermind, let's go!" Nonny says, grabbing Goby's hand, and they head down another path. The blood monster disintegrates the dragon.

The two boys keep running down the path, hoping they would either escape the forest or find Zooli. But unfortunately for them, it just led to another dead end. They can't find a way out, and the blood creature is right behind them.

"We're cornered dude!" Goby shouts. "What do we do?"

"I don't know! I've never been in a situation like this, and you saw what that thing did to the dragon!" Nonny tells them.

"Say, do you hear more screaming?" Goby asks Nonny.

"Yeah I do" the orange-haired boy answered. Zooli appeared behind the bushes, still screaming from the lightning. One of them struck the blood creature, destroying it. "Well at least that thing's gone now" Goby said. They both grab a panicked Zooli.

"Zooli, it's us! Calm down!" Goby tells her before both are hugged by her.

"Guys! I'd thought I'd never find you guys! I'm so happy you both are safe" Zooli says before lightning misses her barely.

"Wait, how is it even raining here? The temperature is too low" Nonny confusingly asks.

"Y-yeah, that s..sure is weird heh" Zooli nervously says before another bolt almost hits her.

"Say…isn't it weird that the lightning is only hitting you and not us?" Goby asks.

"Oh alright, there is a reason. I'm scared of lightning" Zooli admits.

"You are?" they both ask.

"Yeah, I had a traumatic experience as a kid. When I was about 3 years old, I was struck by lightning, and it felt like being tied to the electric chair except way worse, and I still haven't recovered from it" Zooli explains.

"I'm sorry that happened to you Zooli, but that doesn't mean you should be scared" Goby tells her.

"Excuse me?"

"That's really rare to happen, you should be lucky it never happened again, and you could've told the whole world about that, because that barely happens to people!" Goby explains to her.

"Goby's right, lightning is something you shouldn't be afraid of. It rarely hurts people, plus you're more likely to be in a car crash then get struck by lightning…not that it…would happen…but you get my point" Nonny tells her.

"I don't know" Zooli says. Suddenly, the lightning strikes the rocky wall, causing a rock slide.

"Look out!" Zooli says. She then does something extraordinary. She kicks rocks the size of her body away like they were soccer balls, allowing the others to escape.

"Where did you learn to kick like that Zooli?" Goby asks.

"Soccer practice, really helps you" Zooli says before kicking one more rock into the cloud, destroying it.

"Now let's go!" she says as they leave the forest.

Gil, Deema and Cryo managed to escape the plants because of Cryo's fire powers, managing to destroy one of them. They all huddled together to think of a plan.

"It's a good thing you have fire powers Cryo, or else we'd be in big trouble" Deema says.

"Yeah, maybe being family with him could be a good thing" he says.

"Uh guys, the fog is surrounding us again" Gil said.

"Make sure to stick together guys, this fog can be dangerous to us" Cryo says.

"It seems you know so much my boy" a familiar voice says, shocking Cryo and the others.

"Wait…that voice..it can't be…" Gil said. They turned around to see Pyros behind them.

"DAD?!" Cryo yelled.

"It's Pyros! Run!" Deema screams. The trio run away from him, escaping through a path Gil found. As they ran, they tried to figure out what was even happening. "How is this possible?! I thought Pyros couldn't make it pass the mountain?" Deema asked. "I don't know! I didn't think it was possible either" Gil replied.

"Guys look out!" Cryo says. Fireballs were coming straight at them, but they safely avoided them. "We have to find a way out of here now!" Cryo worriedly said.

"It's no use Cryo. Now come back with me at once, or the consequences will be harsh" Pyros told him.

"And let you torture me even more? Hell no!" Cryo said back.

"Yeah, leave him alone! He doesn't have to go back with you and your evil ways!" Deema said to him.

"You stay out of this curly, you're just as ignorant as you are goofy. You two will never understand why I conquered your home" Pyros tells her.

"Guys, I just realized something. This isn't the real Pyros, It's just a projection of our fear" Gil says to them.

"Yeah, but who's fear is it?" Deema asks. They both look at Cryo, who looks away. Deema and Gil look at each other, and have the same idea in their heads.

"Hey Lameos! Leave our friend alone!" Deema shouted to Pyros.

"Excuse me girl?"

"He doesn't need to be scared of you. He's fully capable of beating you on his own, as he has your biggest weakness: Ice" Deema says.

"She's right, and we've managed to hurt you too, so don't think we won't do it again now! Cryo can face his fears, especially when he has his friends by his side!" Gil says.

"Oh, he isn't the only one who needs to face their fears, just look in a mirror" Pyros said in an evilish tone.

"But I don't even have a-" Gil said before it clicked in him. He looked over at Deema and saw something that even terrified him. Her hair was a mess, with no more curls.

"What? Is there something wrong?" Deema asked.

"D..Deema, look in the mirror" Gil nervously said. Deema gulped and looked in the mirror and saw herself like that.

"MYY HAIRRR! RUN FOR IT!" Deema screams as she grabs their hands and flees from Pyros. Gil then hears something else. He sees a monster behind them, chasing after them.

"Monster!" Gil screams.

"Over here guys!" Cryo says. They head to a safe spot.

"This is the worst thing to ever happen to us!" Deema says while crying"

"I think we've been through worse things Deema" Gil says to her.

"Yeah maybe for you guys, but for me? This is way worse" Deema shouts.

"Enough guys! Can't you see these are little things you're afraid of?" Cryo tells them.

"What do you mean Cryo?"

"Exactly what you told me. You have to face your fears. It's fine if your hair is messy, or if a monster is chasing you…most of the time. But you have to face those fears in life to move on, and you don't have to be scared" Cryo says to them.

"Yeah, you're right Cryo! Let's finish this!" Gil says.

Pyros and the monster were searching for them, and were starting to get tired. "Ugh, where are those annoying kids?" he asked.

"Right here buddy!" Deema shouted as her and Gil pounced on Pyros, turning him into dust. Cryo attacked the monster, eliminating it as well.

"Good teamwork guys!" Gil said. They all high-fived, but then the plants returned.

"No time to celebrate yet, let's get out of here!" Deema shouted. They all ran out of the forest.

"It's still following us Molly!" Oona shouted. They were still being chased by the largest plant. Molly tried to fight back with her powers, but they didn't seem to do much, due to the cold climate.

"Molly, it doesn't seem to be working! We have to keep going!" Oona shouted. Molly was going to ignore her, but she remembered the first temple with Goby, sighed, and swam away from the plant. They soon managed to get far away from the plant.

"I think we lost it now" Molly said.

"Yeah, now we just have to find a way out of here" Oona said. Suddenly, the fog started to surround the two girls, who huddled together for safety. "Stay by me Oona, we don't want to split up" Molly said to her. The pig-tailed girl nodded her head. Oona then spots something.

"Hey Molly, who's that over there?" Oona asked, pointing to a figure.

"Hey! Could you help us out a bit? We're sorta lost" Molly called out to the figure. It then started to laugh at them.

"Hey! What are you laughing at, and when did so many of you appear?" she asked. They we're surrounded by a crowd, who were laughing at them.

"Knock it off! Who are you even laughing at?" Molly annoyingly asked.

"Oona haha"

"What a pathetic girl!"

"Loser! Hahaha!"

Molly then got the message, and looked at Oona, who was as still as a rock. "Oona? Come on, snap out of it!" she called out to her, but she just got down and started crying.

"St..stop it! (sniff) Stop laughing at me!" Oona said, crying at the people laughing at her. Molly couldn't stand the look of her friend being treated this way, and was going to do something about it.

"Quit it! Stop laughing at her now!" Molly shouted, but it did nothing. She tries to think of why this is happening, when she remembers that the forest turns fear into reality. "Oona, you have to get up, it's not real!" Molly comforts her.

"I c..can't. They all (sniff) hate me" Oona said while crying. Molly sighed and pulled out her microphone.

'Molly? What are you doing?" Oona confusingly asked.

"You know, there was this song in a show about ponies that taught me to face most of my fears, and I thought this would help you too" she tells her.

"When I was just a little girl and the sun was going down."

"Molly?"

"The darkness and the shadows, they would always make me frown."

"Don't tell me you're?"

"I'd hide under my pillow, from what I thought I saw."

"But Grandma told me that wasn't the way to deal with fears at all"

"Then what is?"

"She said Molly, you gotta stand up tall! Learn to face your fears!"

"You'll see that they can't hurt you, just laugh and make them disappear!"

"Ha! Ha! Ha!"

A part of the crowd disappeared out of thin air. Oona then got the message, and joined her singing friend in her song.

"So! Giggle at the ghostly!"

"Guffaw at the grossly!"

"Crack up at the creepy!"

"Whoop it up with the weepy!"

"Chortle at the kooky"

"Snortle at the spooky"

"And tell that big dumb spooky face to take a hike and leave you alone and if he thinks he can scare you then he's got another thing coming and the very idea of such a thing just makes you wanna laugh!"

All the crowd disappeared from them, and the two girls got on the ground, laughing from all the fun they just had.

"Thanks for helping me face my fears Molly, I really appreciate it" Oona thanks her.

"No problem Oona. I knew that song would help you out" Molly tells her. More fog then appears to them.

"I think this one's for you Molly, but it won't matter. You're not scared of anything" Oona said.

"Y..yeah, right" Molly nervously said, which Oona caught.

"Molly, are you scared of something?" Oona asked her with concern.

"What, no of course not!" Molly told her.

"You're lying Molly, I can tell" she says.

"Alright, yes I am. I'm afraid of-" Molly was cut off by a giant needle that landed right in front of them, startling both girls. "Woah, that's one big needle huh Molly? Molly?" Oona called out, but just like she was before, Molly was as still as a rock.

"Molly? Are you okay?" Oona asked her. She went to check on her before:

"NEEDLE!" Molly scream bloody murder, and destroyed it without second thought.

"What the hell Molly?" Oona shouted. Molly got startled and blasted Oona, but she avoided it.

"Molly stop it now!" Oona screamed before a needle landed by her.

"Oona get under me now!" Molly told her, summoning a shield. She got under her as needles rained down from the sky. "I'm afraid of sharp objects. Ever since I got my first shot, I never liked needles and their pointiness" Molly explained. Oona just giggled.

"Why are you laughing?" Molly annoyingly asked her.

"Oh nothing, it's just that you're scared of a little needle. Sure, it hurts, but it's only a pinch, I promise" Oona told her. Molly looked at her friend, and sighed. She grabbed a needle, and decided to do it herself. She injected the needle into her, and she felt some pain, but it was gone shortly after.

"Huh, that wasn't so bad" Molly said as the needles stopped raining down.

"You see? I told you it wasn't as bad. You just had to face your fears" Oona said to her.

"Thanks Oona, I really app-" Molly was cut off by a vine grabbing her tail.

"Agh, what got me?!" she shouted. It was the plant. It had come back, and was dragging Molly down.

"Oona help me!" she shouted.

"Molly, I'm coming!" she shouted, but when she started running, she tripped on Molly's shield. The plant roared louder. Molly tries to fight back, but it wraps her neck around and starts to choke her.

"Molly!" Oona screamed.

"Ack…O..Oona…he-lp m-me" Molly said, struggling to breathe. Oona closed her eyes, but then something weird happened. She got up. "Hey Plant" she said. It looked at her.

"LEAVE MY FRIEND ALONE!" she screamed loudly. Her eyes glowed intensely bright, blinding the plant, and Molly stabbed it with her sword, killing it. She then collapsed from lack of oxygen.

"Molly!" Oona said, rushing to help her. She picked her up, and carried her.

Zooli, Goby and Nonny made it out of the forest, escaping the plants in the process.

"Boy I am glad that's all over, but we made it!" Goby said.

"High five!" Zooli said. They all high fived.

"So now we just wait for the others now?" Goby asked.

"I assume so" Nonny said.

A few minutes later, Deema, Cryo and Gil arrive next, exhausted from running, and Cryo had just killed one of the plants.

"Good job Cryo, you really are helpful today" Gil said.

"Just protecting my friends" he said.

"Hey guys! Over here!" Goby shouted. "There!" Gil said. They all rushed to each other.

"Are you guys okay?" they asked.

"We're fine, but you wouldn't believe what we saw in there" Gil said.

"Say Deema, is your hair alright?" Goby asked.

"Don't…even…ask" she said in a dark tone. Gil and Cryo laughed.

"Has anyone seen Molly and Oona yet?" Zooli asks.

"We're over here guys!" Oona called out to them. Molly awoke, but was weak.

"Are you girls okay?" Gil asked.

"I'm fine, but Molly was almost killed by one of those plants" Oona told them.

"Guys, I'm fine really" Molly told them. "But I have to ask Oona, what happened back there with your glowing eyes?" she asked her.

"I don't know. But while I was carrying you, I saw this figure, and she told me that soon I would become one with the light or something" she explained.

"Eh, I'm sure it's not important" Deema said.

"There's a small town up ahead we can rest at. It's not that far from here, so we should be good" Cryo explained.

"Ow!" Deema said.

"What happened Deema?" Goby asked.

"That bee over there stung me on my arm, the nerve!" she annoyingly said.

"Oh no no no…" Cryo worriedly said.

"Cryo, what's wrong?" Zooli asked with concern.

"That's not just any bee, that's a Flame Bee! It's stings can cause death if not treated!" he says.

"What?!" they all said.

"I don't feel like an-anything is hap..happen…ooh I feel weird" Deema said before collapsing in front of them.

"DEEMA!" they all shout.

Well, it's finally here. Again, sorry this took so long as I have school to do. But anyway, it's cliffhanger time hehe, hope you all stay tuned for how they help Deema overcome this sickness sting, as well as that Oona moment there! For now, I'll answer reviews:

PrimroseRaspberry: I'm glad you liked the date night, it was a fun thing to do, and I might do more sometime later on down the line. The Anne seen was a fun way of giving background characters some interest. And yes, it is said the show is ending, I wish Nickelodeon would renew it again :(

ReaderandWriter9000: Another peaceful chapter without any emotional or intense moments. I'm glad you like Cryo, he was a fun way of making an OC while making him relevant to the plot, and he will be important later on the line. I'm happy you liked all the shipping moments, gave them some more character and from the show itself. And that one moment lol, I would never do that, seeing as these versions aren't even the right age to do it lmao. I hope you stay tuned for the next temple soon.

I want to give a thanks to ReaderandWriter9000 for coming up with a lore idea that I will get too when I feel like it. Oh and also, a crossover story I'm making will also be canon to this universe.
