And we're back with another chapter after so little time! If you want to understand the context of this one, look at the post chapter of the last one, and you'll get why I made this one.

Anyway, time for an explanation of how things got to where they were last time we met. Oh, and this chapter may contain some parts that involve murder, arson, and other crimes, but there's a reason for that, which will be explained, but if you can't handle those things, I suggest you skip this chapter. But now, let's get into it!

Chapter 17: The Explanation

"It all started 2 days ago…" Goby's voice was heard.

We come to BlizzardTucky, still as it was before. Molly and the others left for Breezy Bay. This was just after they had left, where Deema and Goby stayed behind to help Oona out. They watched as their friends left their sight.

"So what now I guess?" Oona wondered.

"Well now sweetie, you friends will have to help you walk with your new tail," Lady Snowa reminded her.

"Oh yeah, that's right," Oona said with sadness.

"Don't worry Oona! We'll help you get back to normal soon," Deema comforted her.

"Yeah, you'll be back to swimming in no time," Goby said.

"Aw, thanks guys. So how are you going to teach me?" Oona asked them.

"Good question. We have no idea how this thing even works," Goby said.

"Why don't you kids go ask Leonard how? After all, he built it for her," Snowa suggested.

"Good idea! Let's go guys!" Deema said, running off.

"Uh Deema?" Goby stopped her.

"What is it?" Deema asked. He pointed to Oona.

"Oh…yeah. Sorry Oona, forgot about that," Deema apologized.

"It's okay, I know it's hard to remember this since it looks like my regular tail," Oona said. Goby and Deema held her up and walked to Leonards place.

Leonard was working on machines in his workplace. It looks to be some kind of small button and weapons for some kind of machine. He then hears a knock on his door. "Come in!" He shouts. The three guppies enter the building.

"Hi Mr. Leon!" They all greeted him.

"Why hello kids. What brings you here now?" He asks them.

"Well, we were wondering if you knew how Oona's tail is supposed to work? We have no idea how we're supposed to help her walk again," Goby explained to him.

"Well you're in luck! I just finished something that will help her be able to walk again," Leon told them, and handed them a red button-like thing.

"What's this supposed to be?" Deema confusingly wondered.

"It's supposed to connect Oona's robot part with the rest of her body, and should allow her to walk and swim again. If you could place it on the back of her neck, it should activate," Leon explained.

Oona turned around, and Deema placed the control on her neck. She backed up to see what would happen. "How do you feel?" Deema asked her friend.

"I'm not sure. I don't feel anything at the mom-" Oona said before being interrupted by an electrical shock.

"Oona!" Both guppies shouted. The shock soon ended.

"Are you okay?" Goby asked her.

"Surprisingly, yeah. I feel fine," Oona said.

"Try moving around now," Leon told her. Oona took a deep breath, and started to swim around the office, and did flips and jumps. She was bewildered and shocked.

"It worked!" she shouted with excitement.

"I can't believe what I'm seeing, you're like a cyborg now!" Deema said in shock.

"Nice job Oona!" Goby said, giving her a thumbs up.

"Thank you guys! And thank you Mr. Leon," Oona thanked them all.

"No problem kid, now why don't you get something to eat? I'm sure you're all hungry after being gone for so long," Leonard suggested.

That sounds like a good idea to me! How about we get Freezy's?" Deema suggested.

"Sure, I like that place," Goby said.

"Me too!" Oona said. "Oh wait! I have another question Mr. Leon," Oona said. Leon looked at her. "Am I still able to go in water without getting shocked? I've seen electronics get fried in water, so I'm just asking to be safe," Oona asked him.

"Oh of course! I made them to be waterproof, because no one likes a smelly guppy," Leon told her.

"Thank you, and goodbye!" Oona said before swimming out the door fast.

"Hey wait for us!" Deema shouted before running out. Goby sighed and soon followed. As Leonard was waving goodbye, he gave a dark smile. "And now, the plan finally begins…"

"At Freezy's, the three were having their favorite meals. Deema was having a ham and cheese sandwich with pickles. Goby was having a burger with lettuce, tomato and cheese. Oona was having a chicken salad with ranch.

"I still wonder how they make the food here so good," Deema commented.

"I agree Deema, I love coming here," Goby added.

Oona was watching them talk about the food, admiring it. She wanted to join, but she decided not to because she's already gotten what she's wanted: To finally be with her friends again. After all that pain she went through, she's just happy to spend time with them again, and she can't wait to be with the rest of her friends when they get back. Oona was about to take another bite of her food, when all of a sudden she sat up straight, and everything blacked out for her.

"I think you may be right, Goby. What do you think Oona?" Deema asked her friend. Oona just stood there with red eyes, not saying a word.

"Oona? You okay there?" Goby asked her, but no reply came.

"Earth to Oona! Aren't you gonna answer? Hello?" Deema asked her again.

"Yes, I do think that might be the case," Oona said with a calm tone.

"Glad you agree with us, but were you okay? You didn't answer us for a while," she asked Oona.

"Yes, I am fine, just felt something on me, and was waiting for it to get off," Oona said.

"Okay…" Deema said with concern.

"How's your food Oona?" Goby asked her, trying to change the subject.

"I like it. It tastes like food back home, and like the blood of my enemies," Oona said. They both just stared at her with confusion.

"Excuse me?" Deema said. Oona's eyes turned back to normal, and shook her head.

"Ugh…what happened?" Oona said.

"Oona?" Deema and Goby asked.

"Oh hey guys. Sorry, I blacked out for a moment, everything okay?" she asked them.

"Blacked out? You were just telling us how your food tasted like the blood of your enemies," Deema told her.

"I did? I don't remember that," Oona said in confusion.

"Must be a side effect of the thing Leonard gave us," Goby suggested.

"Guess so, let's just pay and go back to the hotel. (yawn) It's getting late, and I'm tired," Deema said.

After they paid for their food, they all went back to the hotel, and eventually reached their rooms. "You okay with sleeping on your own, Oona? You're free to sleep with us if you want," Deema offered her.

"Thank you, but I think I'll be fine now," Oona told them. "Goodnight guys," she told them before heading into her room. Goby and Deema went into their room and cleaned themselves. After that, they went onto their beds.

"Finally, I get to sleep in a bed now after walking for like 2 days," Deema excitedly said. Goby chuckled. "I know how you feel," Goby told her before getting out his book. Deema turned the TV on and watched one of her shows. Goby, however, was thinking about something else.

"Say Deema, can I ask you something?" he said to her.

"Sure bud, what is it?"

"Don't you think it's weird that Oona went back to her normal self after she said her food tasted like the blood of her enemies?" Goby asked Deema.

"Hmm now that you mention it, yeah that does seem a bit weird, and even her eyes seemed a bit different too. Maybe something caused her to be like that?" Deema said.

"Maybe, but we simply don't have enough proof to confirm it, so we may need to do some spying," Goby said.

"Well I'm tired, so let's get some sleep now," Deema said while yawning. She turned off the television.

"Alright sleepyhead. Goodnight," Goby said, turning off the light.

"Night Goby," Deema replied. They both soon fell asleep.

In the middle of the night, Oona's door opened, and she walked out of the room, her eyes glowing red again, and holding her katana, walked towards the elevator, smiling too, like she was planning something.

Morning soon struck, and Deema and Goby woke up around 9 in the morning.

"How'd you sleep?" Goby asked Deema.

"I slept like an angel heading into heaven, so I feel great!" Deema exclaimed. "Let's get Oona up, I hope she slept well,'' she said. They got cleaned and changed into their clothes to leave. Goby knocked on Oona's room, but they only heard groaning. They look at each other, concerned

"Oona? Are you okay in there?" Goby asked her while knocking.

"Go away," Oona faintly said.

"It's us Oona, we're just asking if you're alright," Deema told her. Oona groaned again. "Ok that's it, we're coming in!" Deema said, annoyed by Oona's stubbornness. She opened the door, and saw Oona on her bed, hair a mess, and her katana on the ground.

"Woah. What happened here? This place is worse than my little brother's room," Deema jokingly said.

'Uh Deema, I don't think this is normal. I mean, just look at her," Goby whispered to her, pointing to Oona.

"You good Oona? Your hair's a mess!" Deema asked her. Oona got up, and yawned.

"Oh..hey guys," Oona said, yawning.

"Is everything alright friend? You don't seem like yourself," Goby asked her.

"Not really. I barely got any sleep, only getting about one hour of sleep. I don't remember what happened after 10 PM, I blacked out again. When I awoke again, I felt so tired, and passed out on the bed," Oona explained.

"Just like when we were eating at the restaurant, you said you blacked out," Goby added.

"Hey Oona, why is your katana on the floor, and why does it have blood on it?" Deema worriedly said. They both were shocked to see that it did have blood on it.

"I don't know. I hope I didn't do what I think I did," Oona worriedly thought.

"I'm sure you probably just hit something and bled a bit, friend, let's just go outside and take a walk," Deema assured her. They both waited for Oona to get cleaned and changed, and when she did, they went outside, only to find a crowd of people standing near the blacksmith, and it seems they were talking about something.

"What's happening over there?" Deema wondered.

"Let's go check it out," Goby said.

They all swam over to the crowd of people, who were shocked and scared over what was there. The group decided to ask what was happening. "Excuse me, what's going on?" Goby asked someone.

"Why don't you take a look kids. Maybe you can help us out," the person said. They all gulped and got closer. What they saw will probably scar them for life. It was a lobster, lying dead on the ground, with detached limbs, blood everywhere, and slash wounds. Goby took a step back, and Deema looked like she was about to barf. Oona simply covered her mouth.

"Why is there a dead person here?!" Deema asked Goby.

"I don't know! I'm freaking out too!" Goby shouted.

"Me too!" Deema said. "Are you seeing this Oona?! Oona?" Deema asked her friend, but she wasn't answering. She was staring at the body with eyes of terror, like she was paralyzed.

"Not again," Goby said with annoyance.

"Let's go ask Lady Snowa and Glacia. Come on Oona," Deema said. They took Oona and went to Lady Snowa's place.

"I see, so someone was killed during the night?" Lady Snowa asked.

"Yes, and we have no idea who did it," Goby told them.

"Did anything else happen during the night?" Glacia asked them.

"Well, Oona did say she blacked out during the night and couldn't sleep. There was also blood on her katana when we found her," Deema explained.

"I really hope it wasn't me, I would hate myself forever," Oona told everyone.

"Don't worry Oona, it couldn't be you! You would never do something of that severity," Deema told her.

"I don't know Deema, the blood on the sword could be an indicator," Goby said.

"Don't tell me you think she killed someone!" Deema said to him.

"I never said that! I just said it's a possibility," Goby replied.

"Well, why don't you kids go and look for clues? You could find some answers to this problem," Snowa suggested. They all nodded their heads and waved goodbye. The sisters watched them leave.

"You know who it is, don't you?" Snowa asked her sister.

"Of course I do. I assume you know too?" Glacia asked Snowa.

"Yes, I do. Let's just hope they figure it out before it's too late," Snowa worriedly said.

The guppies went to the scene of the crime, the blacksmith, where they found the owner by where the body was. He was pondering what happened when he noticed them coming up to him.

"Oh hey kids, what can I help you with?" he asked them.

"Hi sir. We were wondering if you knew what happened when the murder happened?" Goby asked him.

"Why yes, I do. I was sleeping when I heard someone scream outside, waking me up. I rushed outside and saw them lying on the ground, and the murderer right there, but they jumped on a building and ran off," he explained.

"Interesting," Goby thought.

"Do you know what they looked like?" Deema asked.

"I don't know what they looked like, all I know is that they had red eyes and some kind of sword from Japan," the crab explained.

"I see. Thanks for telling us sir," Goby said.

"No problem, good luck solving this!" the crab said, waving goodbye to them.

"Well that didn't help us at all. So much for that," Deema said with disappointment.

"I wouldn't say that. We did get some clues as to who it could be," Goby told her.

"Do you think one of Pyro's assassins did it?" Deema suggested.

"Possibly, as they all do have red eyes, but I haven't seen any of them with swords like that before," Goby said.

"Say, where's Oona?" Deema wondered. They looked around to see that Oona was gone. "Yeah, where did she go?" Goby wondered too. "Let's go find her!" Deema told him. They all went searching around for her, looking in shops, restaurants, and houses.

"Where could she have gone to?" Deema asked.

"I don't know, and we searched almost everywhere," Goby replied.

"Guys, is that you?" Oona said. She came to them, dizzy and exhausted.

"Oona! Where did you go?" Goby asked her.

"I don't know. All I remember is that you guys were talking to the blacksmith guy, and then, get this…I blacked out again!" Oona explained.

"Wow, that side effect must really be tough, this is like the third time in the span of a day," Deema said with surprise.

"Hey do you guys smell smoke?" Goby asked them. They all smelled around, and they indeed, did smell smoke.

"Yeah I do, but where's it coming from?" Deema wondered. "I see some over there! This could be a clue!" Goby said, pointing to the large cloud of smoke. They all swam over to the source, and saw a whole building on fire.

"Great! First a murder and now a whole building on fire?! What is happening today?!" Deema asked herself.

"Come on, there could be people in there!" Goby shouted. They went up to a snail, who was biting his fingers at the sight of the flame.

"Excuse me mister, but what happened here?" Deema asked him.

"I'm not sure! All I can remember is that I was in my robotics building, and then this girl walks in, and then the next thing I know, half of my store is on fire! She had red eyes, looked like a guppy, and had a tail with stars on it, but that's all I remember," the snail man told them.

"Thanks for telling us, and we're sorry about your store," Goby told them. They soon left the scene.

"So we're getting closer I guess," Deema said, trying to lighten the mood.

"Let's see. Red eyes, Japanese sword, and a tail with stars on it," Goby said. They both looked at Oona, who wasn't paying attention. "Nah," they both said.

"Excuse me guys, maybe we should go ask Mr. Leon if he knows who it is, and maybe why I keep blacking out," Oona suggested to them.

"Good idea Oona! Let's go see him," Goby replied.

At Leonards place, he was with the guppies, who had already explained to him about Oona's sudden changes, and the things happening around town.

"I see, so you're suddenly blacking out and her eyes turn red?" he asked for clarification.

"Yes, that's correct," Oona answered.

"I see. I'll admit I've never seen this happen before. It could be some kind of glitch, or it could be someone is trying to hack into your control," Leonard suggested.

"You mean like c-c-control me?" Oona worriedly said.

"Possibly, but I just don't know. I'll try and make sure it doesn't happen again," Leonard told them. While he was talking to Goby and Oona, Deema was looking around his office, when she noticed two photos of familiar people.

"(Say, these kind of look like-)" she thought to herself before being interrupted.

"Come on Deema, we're leaving!" Goby shouted.

"Coming!" Deema said back, but not before grabbing the two photos. They soon left the building and went the rest of the day without Oona running off or having red eyes. They were eating at Lady Snowa's place, and talking to her about today.

"So did you find anything out yet?" Snowa asked them.

"Well, we did find out that the person has red eyes, stars on their tail, and has a Japanese sword," Goby explained to them.

"Is this all you learned today?" Glacia asked the group.

"Well after we left Mr. Leon's place, I haven't blacked out since, so maybe he fixed whatever was happening to me," Oona told them.

"Hey, speaking of him, I found these two photos in his office," Deema said. She put the photos on the table.

"Say, these look like the guy from the robotics store, and that lobster that was killed," Oona pointed out.

"You're right Oona, but why would he have photos of these people?" Deema asked.

"Maybe he knew them? He could've been friends with them," Goby suggested. "That could be the case Goby, but maybe you all should get some rest first, as it's getting late now," Lady Snowa told them.

"Goodbye Lady Snowa and Glacia!" The three guppies said as they left their house. The two sisters then went into the kitchen.

At the hotel, it was midnight, and everyone was asleep. That is, until Oona comes out of her door and leaves the hotel. We see her walk to someone walking down. "Oh hello Oona, why are you up so late? Why do you have that sword?" the person worriedly asks her. Oona gives him a creepy smile. "Say goodnight buddy," Oona says. "Wait, no-NO!" he screamed before a slash was heard. More screams and slashes were heard.

Morning arrived. Goby and Deema yawned awake, and got up. "Bet you Oona's probably tired and is grumpy again," Deema jokingly said to Goby.

"Oh I agree with you, but let's go check on her to make sure," Goby said. However, when they opened their door, they found Oona, stumbling towards them, tired and weakly.

"Oona!" Goby and Deema yelled. "Guys, guys, I-I…I" Oona said before collapsing infront of them. "Oona! Oona…!" Deema's voice slowly faded.

Oona woke up in another room, which happened to be Lady Snowa's bedroom. She got out of the bed, and rubbed her head. "Ow…my head. Wha-what happened?" Oona asked herself. She swam out of the room and came across the others talking with Glacia.

"Oh hey Oona, good to see you. Your friends were just talking about you," Glacia told her.

'You..were?" Oona worriedly responded.

"Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen you act like that before friend," Deema said.

"Do you remember what you wanted to tell us before you fell over?" Goby asked her.

"No, for some reason I can't now, but I could earlier," Oona said.

"Ok, something is going on now, I think we should go to that Leonard's place again. I think it has cameras we can use to figure out what happened," Deema said to Goby.

"Good idea. Glacia, can you keep Oona here?" Goby asked Glacia.

"What? Why can't I come?" Oona angrily asked.

"Because you might run off and make a whole block explode or something," Deema told her.

"Don't worry kids. I will make sure nothing happens to her. She's safe here," Glacia told them.

"Thanks Glacia! We'll be back soon!" Deema shouted before they left.

At Leonards office, Goby and Deema made sure no one was around before entering. "Coast is clear, now get those cameras up while I look for clues," Deema told Goby, to which he nodded his head and got the computer up. Deema looked around for clues, when she soon found some notes in a book on Leonard's desk. "What the heck is this? A diary?" Deema said to herself.

"Got the cameras ready!" Goby said. "You did? Well let's see them!" Deema shouted. Goby played the clips. It started shortly after midnight, with nothing there. "Keep going," Deema said. Goby fast forwarded to where the person we saw earlier was standing by a building. "Interesting, but keep going," Deema told Goby. He fast forwarded it again, and the lobster soon saw Oona "Oh hello Oona, why are you up so late? Why do you have that sword?" the lobster said before screams were heard. Goby and Deema watched as Oona did the unthinkable, and looked at each other.

"Did you see what I just saw?" Goby asked Deema.

"Yep." Deema scaredly replied. "Then that means.."

"Oona did it?!" They both said at the same time.

"I don't believe it! Why would she straight up kill someone? That's not like her!" Deema was saying out loud.

"D-Deema, that's not all," Goby worriedly told her.

"What do you mean? Don't tell me she…" Deema asked him. Goby showed more clips of Oona. She was killing more people, broke houses and stores, and even set a place on fire and locked all ways of exit in it. Deema covered her mouth in shock.

"I…I can't look at this anymore, turn it off!" Deema yelled. Goby turned the cameras off.

"I can't believe she did all that! Did she know? Was she lying to us, or was something or someone making her do all that?" Goby thought to himself.

"Uh, Goby? You might want to look at this," Deema said with concern. She showed him Leonards book. It was filled with designs for a chip, used for mind control, and several other weapons. In the corner, was a logo from Pyro's army.

"So that means…" Goby said before he was interrupted.

"That's right kids, well done," Leonard said from behind them.

"You! You did all this, didn't you?!" Deema shouted at him.

"That's right, curly, and my real name isn't Leonard, it's Leon," Leon told him.

"How could you do this to Oona? You made her into a killer!" Goby asked him.

"Simple. If we can't destroy you by ourselves, then we can destroy you by using yourselves. I told Eliza to cut off her tail so that I could attach the robot tail and chip, and Sally left that metal in the temple, because she knew you would grab it," Leon explained to them.

"But why her out of all of us? Why not Molly or Zooli?" Deema angrily asked him.

"Because Oona is the most skilled in physical and melee combat, and she's very smart too, so she was the perfect candidate to test it on, and it seems like it was a success. Oh, and speaking of her," Leon explained, evilly smiling.

Oona then smashed right through the roof of the building, with her katana in hand. She looks at Leon, and bows to him. "Make sure they don't leave Kirā, got it?" Leon asked Oona.

"Yes Master," Oona said.

"Kirā? Her name's Oona bud! Get it right!" Deema mocked him.

"Oh I know. But Kirā is her nickname for me. It means "Killer" in Japanese, which is fitting," Leon explained. Oona held her sword at them.

"Oona, it's us!" Deema told her.

"You have to break through friend!" Goby shouted to her.

"The Oona you know is trapped, and I serve Pyros now. She won't be back for a good while," Oona said.

"Welp, guess we're screwed," Deema said.

"Now's not the time to give up Deema!" Goby said to her before they were grabbed by Leon. They were struggling to break free.

"Kirā, get the ship ready. We're going to Breezy Bay next. I heard from a co-worker that four eyes found a new sibling. Goby and Deema looked at each other, and knew who he ment.

They were thrown onto an airship, all tied up.

"You won't get away with this!" Deema shouted.

"Oh but I already have. Now be quiet, or you die too," Leon threatened them as he started the ship, which was surprisingly fast. Lady Snowa and Glacia looked as they saw it take off. Glacia was about to shoot it, but Snowa stopped her, shaking her head.

"Now what do we do?" Deema asked Goby.

"There's nothing we can do. It's up to them to help us now," Goby told her.

Author's Notes

It feels weird posting 3 chapters in a row without waiting a month, but I'm glad I came back with a bang. So now you know what really happened in between, and this arc will be resolved in the 4th temple! It feels so weird making Oona the killer here, but with that training, she could definitely have the ability to kill someone here, but now onto the reviews:

PrimroseRaspberry: I'm glad you liked that plot twist, and I hope everyone else did, it was an exciting moment to add, because it helps remember what's at stake here. As for Alana, you'll just have to wait and see to find out.

ReaderandWriter9000: Hello again friend! I'm glad you were excited for the last chapter, as I have no idea how I can even write a filler chapter. Nice to see you liked the Zooli and Cryo moments, as this was another chapter in their story, and it's nice to see you liked the plot twist. Seems like I gave you a taste of your own medicine hehe.

Before I go, here's one last post chapter for this arc. Have fun, and goodnight!

Post Chapter

The airship was still flying over the ocean, with everyone still trapped and tied up on it.

"And that's basically what happened," Goby said.

"Oh wow, I didn't think all of that actually happened," Nelly said.

"Say, you called Nonny "brother" earlier. Did we miss something?" Deema asked Nelly.

"Oh, I'm just his adoptive sister. My real family is dead, killed by Pyros," Nelly explained to them.

"Oh. That sucks, Sorry to hear that happened to you. I know what it's like to lose family," Deema said to Nelly.

"We're approaching the temple sir," Oona said.

Everyone looked down to see the temple below them. It was in the middle of an island surrounded by water. People were taking pictures and looking at it from the boat.

"Hey, down there!" Deema said. She saw Molly and Nonny, who were at the temple doors. Before everyone could start calling for them, metal straps covered their mouths.

"Mhm, hmp!" Goby tried to speak.

"Mmmh! Mhhhm!" Deema muffledly said.

"Sorry, but I can't have you spoil the surprise now," Leon said. He used a ring to lift everyone up, which burnt their ropes, but the strap stayed on.

"Hey Molly?" Nonny said.

"What's up Nonny?" Molly asked him.

"I have this weird feeling we're being watched by someone," he told her.

"I'm sure it's just your imagination. Now let's get this temple done so we can move on," Molly told him. They then entered the temple, and the doors closed.
