REINVENT - ALLAN RESIDENCE
It's a gloomy Sunday Morning in The Allan Residence, and the greatest way to wake up was a knock on the front door. Luckily Mr. and Mrs. Allan, were knocked out, on their bed after their usual busy night at the restaurant. Too tired to hear a tiny knock on their door.
But their daughter Liz restlessly laid awake on her bed. One thought stuck in her mind: why'd Peter leave and not tell her about how he saved Sally and the in-crowd? Usually highschool boys like him would brag about their accomplishments, so why didn't he? Maybe he's not like the rest, deep down.
Suddenly, a knock on the front door gave her another thing to think about.
'Who'd knock at 8:00 am?'
She scratched her head before she slowly tiptoed to the front door. Her hand slowly turned the knob, as soundless as it could be. Usually her parents had ears of a bat, so sneaking in and out was a major task for Liz. However, she's a veteran at sneaking out, knowing the ins and outs of that door.
Right when the door opened, she heard a familiar voice softly greet her, "Morning Liz." The individual folded up a piece of paper that he drew on and put it way loosely in his back pocket.
Yep, her eyes grew wide awake by the sound of his voice.
'WHAT THE- WHY THE HECK PETEY DOING HERE?!' she screamed in her head.
She did what she impulsively thought, and stepped out the door and pulled him into the house, quietly leading him into her room. They made sure to tippy toe their way there, to minimize as many creaks on the floor as possible.
Once they made it, they sat down on the carpet, distant from each other.
She made her best effort to whisper as quiet as a church mouse, "Petey? Um-what're you doing here?!"
"Wanted to say, I'm sorry I left you at the hospital… alone. And my aunt wanted me to check on you… to make sure, you're okay," Peter admitted.
"Mhmm," she grumbled under her breath.
"Like you needed me, and I left"
"Yeah, I know, I was there, Petey"
"Look, if you never want to see me again… I'll understand," he admitted.
"Is that what you want?" she asked.
"Honestly, no… I want to be there for you, Liz. But I wasn't on Friday and that's on me. I can't keep doing that to you"
"Why'd you leave then? I know… Spider-Man doesn't have to save the world anymore. Was that it?" she discreetly mentioned.
"I just felt like it's all my fault. All of this chaos in New York… is because of me. I dropped being Spider-Man and look what happened! During homecoming… Sally, Flash, Rand and many and all of those kids at Midtown got hurt cuz I didn't try stepping in and stopping Shocker and Black Cat, before," he truly expressed to her as his voice cracked.
"And seeing all those kids being wheeled into the hospital… HECK! Maybe the guilt caught up to me… who knows?" he continued as tears welled up in his eyes.
"Petey…" she lowly voiced.
"I-is Sally… um, how's Sally doing?" he nervously stammered, repeatedly tapping his foot.
"She's doing fine. Um, she actually told me you helped her outta the ruble..."
"Yeah, I did," he confessed.
"And you didn't tell me?"
"Well, I didn't think it was the right time"
"But… you're the reason she's alive today"
"I'm the reason she's in the hospital"
She inched closer and closer to him. Her hand softly reached for his and held on to it.
"You're the reason… for a lot of things, Petey. But you're not the reason for all those kids hurt," Liz warmly assured him.
His eyes gazed down and noticed her hand in his, which led to a small smile. She wiped away the tear from his eye. His eyes looked up at her, "You sure?"
"Yes. Those people made those choices, and will live with the consequences… you couldn't control that," she acknowleged. "And… you gotta realize that you're not alone. There are people looking to help you, you just gotta reach out."
"You're good at this, huh?" the young man smirked at her.
"I hope I am," she giggled.
His face instantly grew a smile, and Liz scooted closer to him.
"All you really gotta do, Petey, is talk to me… okay?"
"Alright"
"So why'd you ever quit?" she calmly added, before resting her head on his shoulder.
"I-I just didn't feel needed. Especially when the city turned their back on me, I turned my back on them. But that's my mistake, and I shouldn't have done that," Peter admitted.
"So… what're you going to do about it?"
"I'm going to stop Fisk as Spider-Man," he heroically declared.
Liz tried shushing him, since he didn't realize how loud he spoke.
"Quiet… Also, that sounds great! New York needs you!"
"Yeah, but I don't have a suit. And I can't afford materials at the moment"
"Petey, relax. Let me see if I've any extra clothes you could borrow…"
"You think I fit in girl clothes?"
"Your physic sure looks like it does," she winked at him.
"Hey! Cuz, I got an enormous chest, don't mean squat," he jokingly replied.
"Sure…" she smiled at him. Then she immediately got up from his shoulder and went searching for clothes in her closet.
Immediately after, Peter felt a sudden buzzing in his pocket. He whipped it out and saw a message from his blonde best friend, Gwen Stacy.
'Pete, I'm here at the Silver spoon… where are you?' - Gwen Stacy
Peter's eyes glowed at the sight of her message.
'CRAP! Completely forgot about Gwen! And she's not gonna let me off the hook this time. I have to go!... but I gotta tell Liz, ' Peter cursed at himself.
'Ok, I'm coming! See you there in a sec.' - Peter
His eyes immediately looked up at her, "Liz, I gotta meet someone right now… Uh-talk to you later?"
The smile on her face instantly dropped, "Yeah, later… Go out the window?"
He responded with a slight nod. Instantly, she opened her window, letting the chilly morning air into her room.
But before he'd go, Liz grabbed a bag of clothes off her bed and tossed it at him.
"Hey, you might need this"
Peter instantly asked, "Um, what is this?"
"Oh, these are the clothes I found that might fit you… hopefully"
He pulled them out of the bag, and they weren't in the best quality, just being a red sweatshirt & sweatpants but they would work for his vigilante adventures.
"Thanks, Liz. These could work!"
"Well… no problem!"
"Gotta ask, why are you leaving me off the hook? Like I don't think I deserved it… you know, since I've treated you like crap"
"Well, cause I thought it'll be worth the wait someday," she confessed.
"Do you think it's worth it now?" he honestly asked.
"Yeah… I still think it's worth it," she warmly assured him.
Her warmth led to a genuine smile from him. Then she came close, and warmly wrapped around him, and he did the same, although not with a tight grip as hers. Boy she had a grip.
Moments later, he pulled away from her. He had to get going, or else Gwen's gonna give him her infamous, 'the look.'
"There's the window… try going through there next time, don't wanna keep sneaking you in here through the front door… my parents wouldn't be the biggest fan of sneaking in boys in my room," She mentioned.
Before he left, he wrapped the red bandana around his mouth, to improvise as his mask, and the swim goggles as his lenses, although they were quite blurry.
"Right… well see you Liz! You're the best!" he waved at her, before leaping out the window.
He had this odd, happy feeling leaving from her room. Felt something he never felt with Liz before, even when they were dating.
"Bye," she sadly mouthed while she waved back.
She saw him swing into the distance from her window. It was quite surreal to see Spider-Man swing out her window. But the wind blew harshly into her room, gaining one last sight of him, before becoming a speck in her vision. Although once she stepped back, she noticed a crumpled piece of paper on the floor.
Liz reached for it and unraveled it to see a design… for a new suit. On the one hand, it looked rough on the edges. On the other hand, she knew she could work with that. She was never the greatest designer herself, yet she still made clothes she adored.
'Gotta say, for a guy with many talents, drawing isn't one of em… what should I work on first, making Petey's suit or editing the video? Hmm, video first. Then, suit. That sounds about right'
…
NEW YORK POLICE DISTRICT
An abnormal day for the two lawyers, Matt and Foggy and their pro bono client, Hobie Brown. Getting their usual coffee from the nearest coffee shop, because the coffee back in the office wasn't so great. That was the only usual thing that day.
Matthew missed his usual Sunday mass, because of work and their client, and Foggy missed usual his hanging out time with his on-off again girlfriend.
They were unusually nervous to represent this client, even though he was just a kid. But this kid, Hobie Brown, held something special that could change how New York perceives their proclaimed savior and probable Mayor, Wilson Fisk. Evidence that could tie him to the crimes that have roamed the city for the past weeks. And if they somehow take the biggest name of New York down, it could change everything.
Maybe that's an exaggeration, but not to these two lawyers, Matthew Murdock and Foggy Nelson. One officer escorted them to the Captain's office, which they waited a couple of minutes btill they can enter his office.
"Mr. Murdock, Mr. Nelson, you requested to speak with us?" Captain George Stacy asked once they entered his office.
"Yes, Mr- ahem… Captain Stacy. It's because of our client here, Mr. Brown," Foggy introduced him.
However, George already recognized him, "Hobie?"
"You know our client?"
"Being the instructor of the criminal justice program at Midtown, I know him very well… you should know, your father has been looking for you"
"I know, sir," Hobie nodded at the captain.
The Captain gazed up and questioned the lawyers, "What'd he do?"
"This isn't about he did. It's about what he can do for this city, Captain"
"Mr. Murdock, what're you implying?"
"What I'm trying to say is… Mr. Brown has evidence that proves Wilson Fisk involvement in a criminal conspiracy"
"Criminal conspiracy?"
"I know it's hard to believe but-"
Instantly, the door opened to an officer, holding out a coffee cup, for Captain Stacy.
The fellow officer asked, "Coffee, sir?"
"Yes," the captain agreed. The officer quickly handed the cup over, coaster included, and immediately left.
"Are you sure you have solid evidence?" He asked, after having a sip of coffee.
"We believe we do, Captain Stacy," Foggy assured.
"I'd like to hear it"
"Alright then, Mr… Captain Stacy, I've done things I'm not proud of. But I'm here to make things right. No matter the cost. I've taken jobs for Fisk"
"Also, it isn't… Mr. Nelson. I've been in this city long enough where it's hard to tell who are here to save us… or destroy us"
"It's not like the bad guys are hard to find, Captain. Recently, there's a guy throwing around pumpkin bombs that created that light show I saw from Hell's kitchen"
"I agree, Mr. Nelson. I've seen men like L. Thompson Lincoln, who I trusted… but turned out to be Tombstone… but I've seen guys in suits, fighting crime and I question myself, who're the bad guys… everything seems grey these days," he responded.
"And I promise you, sir, that Fisk is one of those men. He'll never stop," Matthew Murdock insisted.
"Then, I'll send my best men, and all the FBI agents I know to investigate… and hopefully arrest him"
"Thank you"
Before he left, Captain Stacy turned to their client, "And Hobie, give your father a call… tell him you're alright… he's probably worried sick. I'd be too, if Gwen disappeared."
"Thanks, Captain Stacy, I-uh thought that he'd be here today"
"I thought the same, son. But he hasn't checked in, so I figured he's out there looking for you. Although it isn't like him to miss work," George Stacy mentioned.
This immediately raised Hobie's suspicions. He's right. It wasn't like his father to be missing, even in extreme situations like this one. If this was Jefferson Davis, he'd be looking all over the city in his patrol car for him… that's how far he'd go.
So he called his father to tell him he's alright in the precinct. Instantly, he whipped out his phone. But the battery ran outta juice. So he asked Foggy if he could use the phone to call his father, which he immediately obliged.
Hobie dialed in the home phone number, and waited a few seconds for a response, but there was no response. 'Hm… they're not home, that doesn't seem right' he immediately thought, leading to further suspicions.
But the young man wouldn't stop until he made sure that they knew he was okay. He dialed up his father's cell phone, and finally, the call went through.
"Hey Dad… I'm sorry I haven't called, or came home. I just screwed up real bad… and I'm here at the precinct to make things right," Hobie quickly explained.
However, that wasn't his father on the other side, "HOBIE! HOBIE!" a distant voice screamed.
"Dad, what's the?!" Hobie grew concerned by the sound of those voices.
"HELP US! HOBIE-" the voices screamed from the phone.
"Hey there, Mr. Brown… it's nice hearing from you again. I hear you want to make things right, correct?" James Wesley deviously greeted.
"What the hell did you do to them?!"
"It's not what we did to them. It's what we're gonna do to them… To your mother, father… and brother. And I know you're at the precinct… probably telling all those lies about my employer"
"Man… c'mon, please don't hurt them. They have nothing to do with this! Between me and him," Hobie whimpered to Wesley.
"True. And that's why he has a proposal… Spread the gospel, that he is a good man. The best man for the city. Claim that all those things you said, were lies," Wesley proposed.
"Wha-I- can't"
"Now you can do this, Hobie, and you will be rewarded, with your family living to see another day. We'll bring them back home like nothing happened. I can promise that. But if you make one step out of that precinct, and try being a hero, you'll drop dead on the pavement, and they'll die too. I can promise that as well."
Immediately the phone went dead, and he solemnly handed back the phone.
Hobie's eyes appeared dead, free from emotion or motion. He doesn't want Fisk to be dictator of his own choices and wants to do the right thing. But if he doesn't, he damn well knows that there's a sniper on the roof of other buildings, ready to snipe him, and his family dies.
But Matt Murdock overheard that entire conversation from about 6 feet.
For a blind man, his hearing was 'above average' especially if he could hear his rapid heartbeat from afar. Although he couldn't do this for everyone, he had to focus on what he wanted to hear.
"Matt, what's up?" Foggy checked on him.
His shaggy haired friend noticed Matt had grown silent in these past moments. It was an odd day for the blind attorney, especially not meeting his priest for normal Sunday Mass.
"Um…" Matt zoned for a sec.
He tried to figure out how to help his client, and his family. But he couldn't go now and play superhero, as Foggy would suspect. However, he remembered what his partner mentioned to him when he read the newspaper: Photographed by Peter Parker.
Suddenly, Hobie approached the two, "Mr. Murdock, Mr. Nelson, we gotta talk."
"Um… okay, Hobie. But first, do you know your friend Peter's number?"
"Why?"
"I have a feeling he could help us… I heard he used to take pictures of Spidey," Matt acknowledged.
"How'd you know that?"
"Foggy told me… he reads the paper for me… anyway, you have the number, Hobie?"
"Yes… I gotta a faint memory of it"
Foggy handed the phone over to the kid, as Matt directed him, "Do whatever, just dial it into Foggy's phone… then after, you can tell us everything."
THE SILVER SPOON CAFE
Moments earlier, Peter entered the cafe and started looking for his blonde friend. His eyes searched through the many tables, till he found her, and man, was she a beauty! Her blonde locks glowed in the cafe. Golden hair with blue eyes was always a win. And ever since that valentines night dinner, she's changed into one of the most beautiful girls he's ever seen. 'Not like she wasn't before… she was always pretty, but this was a whole new level!'
"Hey Pete!" Gwen called him over.
"Gwen, got your message. You alright?"
"I think you'd know the answer to that"
"Right… old habit"
"So you know, what happened to me and Harry?"
"Yeah, I heard, I'm sorry about that"
"I told Harry I'll always love him… as my friend. The funny thing is… there's always been another guy," she admitted.
"About that, Gwen I-"
The blonde didn't think about anything at that moment and went for it. Her heart pumped quickly, as fast as she breathed.
And immediately, she placed her hand on his cheek and pulled him in for a kiss on his lips. It was as if she threw herself across the table for him. And Peter had no clue how to react to her instant affection.
"Wow…" he whispered after he pulled away from her gentle lips.
"You were always the other guy, Pete. MJ told me I should go after what I want… and I know it sounds cliche, but I want to be with you," Gwen admitted. Her hand softly reached for his and a small smile grew on his face. The girl he's wanted since spring break was finally in front of him, wanting to be with him.
Dreams do come true.
But he couldn't forget about his childhood friend, Harry… he's already pretty depressed, and with Gwen leaving his side would tear him to shreds.
The heir to the Osborn's throne would make both his lives a living hell.
Dreams do come true… but guilt's one hell of a weapon.
So his face dropped the smile and just awkwardly froze in front of her.
"Earth to Pete? Hello?!" the blonde tried to gain his attention.
"Oh um, sorry"
"You alright? Did I scare you for a sec?" she chuckled.
"Gwen… why'd you break up with Harry?"
"Um, well… he wanted to be loved, and I-well, couldn't give him that love he wanted… because I probably never loved him like that in the first place," she explained.
"We were never fit. Simple as that… but with you, Peter, I feel like I- I can't… do this."
"What?"
"I can't… be with you, Gwen," he painfully confessed to her.
A tear streamed down his face. His hand pulled away from hers, which left her confused.
"But- you wanted this… didn't you?"
"I did… but I don't know what I want anymore," his voice cracked.
In response, Gwen closed her eyes and covered her face with her hands.
For a few awkwardly silent moments, nothing happened. They just sat across from each other like total strangers.
But to ease the tension, Peter got a phone call. He pulled out the phone and saw it was an unknown number. Usually, if it was an unknown number, he'd never answer it.
But since he practically had nothing to do, he actually bothered to answer it.
"Peter… this is Matt… Matt Murdock"
His eyes grew open, and discreetly asked, "Mr. Murdock… how'd you get my number?"
"Um… Hobie gave it to us… Look, we need your help"
"Is everything alright there?"
"Not really. The whole situation's gone sideways. But I believe you know a guy who can treat the issue"
"Um. Who?"
"Spider-Man. Just tell him to head to the precinct, near midtown, and… watch out for the snipers"
"Wha- SNIPERS?!"
"Yep. Alright sounds good," instantly, the call went dead.
The blonde noticed his weird behavior, and questioned, "Peter, are you alright?"
"Yeah-um… well, I have to deliver a message to a friend… so I gotta go," Peter claimed as he rose off his seat.
"Can't you just text him," she countered.
Peter gulped as his eyes darted all around the room. She was about to catch him in his tracks. "It's more complicated than that…" he quickly reasoned.
"How?"
"Well, um… It-it just is. I gotta go, so see you in 1st period, Gwen," he mumbled, as he waved goodbye.
She immediately grew concerned and suspicious of Peter. The blonde didn't know what he was up to, but he's acting really suspicious.
…
NEARBY THE NEW YORK POLICE PRECINCT
Windows and a top of nearby buildings, were where Fisk's Gunmen stationed at. Although, having their fingers on the triggers was a tiring and boring task, while being tense. But the Kingpin ordered them to be ready for anything. Even for crime-fighting freaks! That's what he paid them to do… and also monitor Hobie Brown.
But it caught them one of them off guard when someone dressed in red swung in their direction. Especially weird when they swung like a familiar web slinger… but he quit… that's what they believed. That's what nearly everyone believed. However, after what felt like mere moments, it disappeared. Maybe the gunman was hallucinating.
Their eyes roamed around the room, to verify that their mind was playing with them.
Immediately a small 'thwip' quietly sounded.
BAM! The web grabbed their leg and Spidey pulled it back, leading to that gunman going face first into the ground.
"Let's go, it's good to get the rust outta the way… I still got it!" Spider-Man proclaimed. He immediately wrapped webbing around that gunman and on their mouth.
He still got other gunmen to take care of. So he launched himself outta the window and scaled the walls. From afar, he saw the complete picture, especially with two other gunmen on alternate buildings, even with blurry swim goggles Liz gave him.
In an instant, he leaped into action and went for them. Spidey immediately webbed the front of the barrel, disabling their gun. BAM, he acrobatically kicked another gunman to the ground, knocking another one out.
"Gotta say, I don't wanna get too cocky… but I'm 2/2 so far!"
Then, that very second, his spider-sense went off as a gunshot came from the other building. 'Crap!' and immediately, he acrobatically dodged the bullet.
He turned to see the last gunman taking out another weapon. The web slinger had to act quick, so he created a slingshot. Although quite sloppy, it would work. He pulled back far enough that it made enough tension, and now he had to release. And once he did, it launched him directly into the gunman, instantly knocking him out.
"My bad… didn't mean to go too hard," he apologized.
After a few moments of retracing his steps, he rounded them up and brought them to the precinct. But he went to the only officer he could trust, not arresting him on the spot, Captain George Stacy.
"You think Spider-Man's going to come, Mr. Murdock? He kinda gave up," Hobie acknowledged.
"Well, I have faith that Peter told him to come back"
"How can you be so sure?"
"I'm not"
"But I am!" the voice announced. The friendly tone of his voice sounded familiar to them. Especially to Matt, which led to his smile.
"Spider-Man!"
"Say my name and I magically appear… I think I've already said that one," The friendly neighborhood Spider-man acknowledged.
"You're actually here!"
George Stacy immediately greeted, "Welcome Back, Spider-Man. The city wasn't the same without you. Although… the new costume is… unique."
"It's a work in progress, Captain Stacy," he chuckled.
"So what did you need my help?"
"We called for you, cause, we have a situation… with Hobie's family"
"Fisk kidnapped em, and probably has em captive somewhere… I just don't know where," Hobie expressed.
"Don't go after Fisk yet, Captain. We gotta get Hobie- I mean… that kid's family safe… first, then you can expose him," The wall crawler advised.
"However, we have to expose him
"But do you know where they could be?"
"Actually try the docks… that's where he makes most of his deals," Hobie offered some advice.
"But Spider-Man, this is a two-man job… you need backup," Captain Stacy mentioned.
Instantly, the web slinger remembered that Hobie wasn't the only one to work for the Kingpin, there was another person that came to mind.
"Hmm… I know who can help," he admitted.
Now, outside the office, that one officer listened to their entire conversation through the bug she planted inside the office. After moments of listening, she found out that they're going after Wilson Fisk… her employer.
She immediately took out her phone and called James Wesley.
"Hey… we gotta situation. Here in the precinct. He's not gonna like it, one bit"
"What is it?" Wesley immediately asked.
"Captain Stacy's after him," she admitted.
…
FLUSHING, NEW YORK
New York City was a place filled with iconic landmarks and parts that make it special. But if everything was special and iconic, then nothing is. And that's why Flushing fits perfectly in the gigantic puzzle of this city. Flushing was a pretty obscure part of New York City, there wasn't much activity.
No crime. No noise. Nothing.
It was dreadfully peaceful, especially for a Black Cat, who craving trouble… Probably too much, because it led to a situation where she'll pay the consequences of it. Especially when she's dealing with the Kingpin, an individual who has all the resources in the palm of his hand. If Kingpin was going to run New York, Felicia wanted no part of it, even though she played her part in his schemes. So that late afternoon, she packed her and her father's things from her pleasant apartment and prepared to go on the run. Florida, Texas, Wyoming, they all sound nice during this time of year, especially for her father. She had to move quickly, with the adrenaline pumping because she pulled that last straw. His plenty of hitmen could be after her at the current moment.
From her dreadfully quiet home, she fled, only holding a large duffle bag filled with stuff that could last her and her dad, a month or two. However, Walter Hardy made his way out of the city, with sights on the beautiful state of Florida. And Felicia was going to make her way out of the city by leaping from one roof to another, like a stealthy acrobat.
But she immediately halted when a familiar webhead swung past her, "Hey there, Kitty Cat!"
"No time to talk Swinger. I got places to be," she spat.
"Going on the run?"
"Gonna stop me?"
"No. I just need your help"
"My help? Why'd you want my help for?"
"Well… honestly, you know Fisk's operation better than I do… and there's a family I gotta save. So please… This doesn't have to be about us, its about them"
"You still don't get it, Swinger… I'm not the person to trust! You should know that better than anyone. I'm not the person to make the sacrifice play, stop bank robberies, all of that, okay? I'm just supposed to walk the path my father set… Nothing more than that"
"That's not all you have to be. With your talents, you can truly do great things-"
"How could you know that?! Especially what I did to you… What if there's no goodness left in me?"
"Well, there's goodness in everyone, especially you… I'd know… cause I've felt it," he sincerely answered.
"How can you be so sure, Swinger?"
"I'm not. But someone told me there are people who willing to help, just gotta reach out," he admitted. "Look, you don't have to forgive me… just help me save this family, then… we can go our separate ways," he added.
She took a step back from the moment to let herself smile. He actually believed in her, even after selling him out to Kingpin. He truly was a wonder. So she dropped her bags to her feet, and stepped closer to him.
"Well, gotta say, not digging the… whatever you're wearing. I miss you in black," Black Cat acknowledged with a smile.
"Yeah, still working on it. Old one got shredded by your boss," he reasoned.
Black Cat gazed up at him, with her dark green eyes, "So where does duty call?"
"I got a lead at the docks"
"The docks? That's where he gets most of his inventory. Especially for the trafficking ring he's running," she mentioned.
"That seems like the most likely place?"
"Maybe…" she mentioned.
"Well then… lead the way!"
The snow-haired Black Cat nodded with a smile and scowered off, which the web slinger instantly swung along with her.
"See Spider! I always knew we had an undying connection," she flirtatiously winked at him.
"An undying connection?! Kinda intense for a kitty, especially at the moment"
She had a smile grow on her face, before she admitted, "I missed this. Don't you?"
"Awe Cat don't go sappy on me all of the sudden. We still got a whole lot of the trip to go!"
There was quite a journey ahead of them. They had to cross through many neighborhoods and tall buildings, before they could even see a glimpse of any shipment containers on those docks. But in about 15 minutes, they made it there.
Once they did, both tried their best to land as silent as possible on the large containers. They noticed 10 guards roaming around them, like Great White Shark. Both had to be stealthy and silent, especially with the creaky metal shipping containers. So they tippy-toed their way around the area.
"Shhh… Cat… okay, here's the plan. I'll take out the guards, you find the family or…"
"I got this. Good thing, my goggles can detect heat signatures now… Fisk got them upgraded, especially for the dark,"
"What?"
"Go do your thing, Swinger. I'll do mine," she winked at him before leaving.
Immediately Cat used her goggles to scan for the heat signatures of anyone. The goggles scanned 4 guards on her right, and further out, the other 6 guards roamed.
Still no signs of the family.
Till she noticed the last few guards roaming through the area.
A question instantly popped in her head, 'Hmm… What's the need for so much protection?... unless it's something… or someone worth protecting…'
Black Cat didn't give it a second thought and launched herself down at the heavily armed guards.
"Oh, boys! Care to dance!" she called for their attention.
Instantly, she landed the 1st blow to one guard with a powerful kick, knocking him down. A second kick for insurance. Then the other guards tried to contain her, one on one, but it wouldn't work, as she swiftly dodged their hits and bullets. She rushed up the wall and flipped over another guard, and used her claws to scratch. Then she launched her body into another guard, wrapping her legs around his head, and harshly dropped him to the floor.
Finally, the white-haired vigilante faced off against the final heavily armed guard. But she was winded, after facing plenty of opponents, and throwing her body at them… her stamina took a hit. The guard whipped out his knife, charging at her. Felicia was ready to throw her body around one last time…
Until Spider-Man swung by and threw a few punches, before wrapping a thick web around him. Moments later, the guard looked like a spider's dinner, being wrapped in silk webbing.
Once they got past those men, Spidey forced open the door, revealing the family was inside. But beside them was a large guard, with a riffle, pointed at them. Their eyes bulged out their sockets, as their muffled screams. Black Cat quickly pounced on the large guard before he can pull that trigger, and started to scratch all of his being.
Spider-man quickly got the tape off each of their mouths and used her sharp claws to cut their binds.
"It's okay… it's okay… we're here to get you out of here," Spidey quickly assured them.
"Thank you… thank you so much!" Jefferson Davis applauded them.
Their son, Miles, immediately embraced Spider-Man, as tight as he could.
"I knew you'd come back," Miles confessed, as he cried.
"He's a big fan," His mother excitedly admitted to him.
"I can tell"
"This is really nice, and quite touching… But, we must get out of here! More of his guys are coming!" Felicia urged.
Her eyes wandered over to see a few old trucks parked by the docks.
"There's a bunch of trucks. Just need to hot-wire one, and we'd be smooth sailing," she pointed out.
"You know how to hot-wire?"
"Yeah. That was actually the last thing my father taught me… before prison and all that"
"Cool…"
After quickly hot-wiring the car, they rushed the family into the vehicle. She threw her duffle bag in the passenger seat, and turned to the web slinger, "You wanna drive Swinger? Or is swinging more your thing?"
"I'm not the best driver, so… you take the wheel"
"Where to?"
"The precinct," Jefferson Davis answered.
Spidey launched himself into the air, and swung by the large truck, as Cat handled the wheel through traffic. She drove urgently through traffic, because the Precinct was kinda a long drive away from the docks, but that's what it was going to take. Didn't hurt that she also had to meet her father, so both could leave together.
20 minutes later… they pulled over in front of the precinct, alerting plenty of officers. George Stacy, Foggy Nelson, and Hobie Brown made their way through the crowd to see the family come out of those doors. The young man ran out of the crowd to embrace them without hesitation. Foggy's eyes teared up a bit from seeing their moment, and wished his partner in crime would experience it with him. The stomach bug was the worse.
When Spidey gazed over at Captain Stacy, he had a proud smile on his face, seeing the family reunite. He had one hell of a day, and the hits will keep on coming, eventually. Especially when he noticed one of his officers oddly texting, while most of the other officers observed the moment.
However, Spider-Man stepped away from the moment, to take the time to thank his ally, Black Cat, for the help. Honestly, without her, he couldn't have done it on his own… especially with hot-wiring the truck, Gee-what a relief. But when he checked to see her in the driver's seat, she vanished.
'Where could've gone, Cat?' He thought as he scanned the area for her.
From afar, the white-haired Black Cat grinned, simmering the moment, with small tears falling from her face. Maybe doing good deeds could make her happy, and enlighten her, and others. But priority #1 was survival, which was getting out of this city before Kingpin could grasp his hands on her and her father. Even if a part of her, wanted to stay, and fight, this was the safest option… but not the best option.
"We had one heck of a connection, didn't we, Spider?" she smirked before she turned around to find her bags.

FISK TOWER
'WILSON FISK INVOLVED IN CRIMINAL ACTIVITY?!'
Moments earlier, Wilson Fisk couldn't imagine that huge headline glowing all over Times Square, leading to most of his supporters to turn on him. But one informant in the police force, just informed Wesley that Captain George Stacy was on Fisk's tail, and suspects his entire operation. That explains why there were police cars, and vans racing to his tower.
"Wesley, get those arrangements ready!"
"Yes sir, making those calls right now," he affirmed.
A man like him needed a contingency plan. The first plan involved kidnapping Hobie's family. He had men at the Docks, on sight, guns pointed directly at them.
At his brother, Miles.
At his father, Officer Jefferson Davis.
At his mom, Rio Morales.
Obviously it didn't silence him, so now, he has to prove a point to never cross the Kingpin. And if he ever got the chance, he'd go after that two-timing backstabber, Felicia Hardy, as well.
"They're ready, sir," Wesley admitted.
"Good, let's go," he motioned.
Everything in the Kingpin's plan was going seamlessly. Sure, the police captain sending officers his way wasn't a part of the plan, but he bounced back quickly.
Every single arrangement was in its place.
A little too perfect.
BAM!
Something blew through the ceiling. It left him in disarray.
Fragments of the ceilings crashed down on Fisk. He was down for a moment, which left his guards in disarray. They saw an individual with a large tail flying down. Everything was a blur. So many things going on at once.
And it landed.
And the guards felt the floor shake for a bit. However, there was no earthquake, just the bodies of Fisk's guards being thrown across the room. Some were even thrown into walls. The impact caused severe concussions, probably some broken backs and bones, but was far from lethal.
But its tail slithered like an anaconda, too big to be stealthy, but its weight could crush them with a strike. Again, it caused a bunch of broken bones, but couldn't kill them.
But this individual's bright, faint green eyes pierced through the panic as it looked for their prey.
"FISK! WHERE ARE YOU?!" the individual roared through the dust.
"Oh Goodness," he muttered under his breath.
Gargan proclaimed, "YOU TURNED ME INTO THIS MONSTER, FISK! AND NOW YOU'RE GONNA PAY!"
The Scorpion sinisterly towered over Wilson Fisk, leaving the once fearless mob boss to cower.
