Shadow the Hedgehog of the Colossus

Chapter 16: Cenobia

After what felt like hours of flying, the Tornado finally returns to its rightful place at Tails's garage. Team Chaotix has once again solved another case. The captured Mobians have been rescued and returned safely. But the ordeal wasn't complete yet.

After landing, Tails sends out a message to all their friends and allies to gather together at his house to inform them of the events that have transpired yesterday. Everyone responded immediately as soon as they heard how urgent the situation was. Of course, Sonic was the first one to arrive after being absent from the Christmas party.

The gathering wasn't as big as it was during the party. Tails only gathered those closest to Shadow and who possess the abilities to defeat Dormin should Shadow succeed, which they know he will.

He explains to them what happened and how they ended up prisoners of the thought to be extinct Colossus Echidna Tribe.

"…As we speak, Lord Emon and his warriors are on their way to the Forbidden Lands now. They plan to kill Shadow before he can finish exterminating the ancient Colossi. We have to save him!" Tails finished explaining.

The others were at a loss for words. Some of them couldn't believe that the legends behind Dormin and the Colossus Clan were real, whilst people like Sonic didn't find it that hard to believe considering all the other legendary threats they've dealt with like Dark Gaia, Solaris, and many more. Dormin didn't seem that big of a threat compared to them, he thought.

"But why would Shadow slaughter a bunch of innocent giants if they're no threat to anyone?" Amy questioned. "It seems so unlike him. Even when he was our enemy at the time, he'd never kill someone who isn't deserving of it."

"It's all because of Maria."

Everyone turns around and is surprised to see Doctor Eggman approach the group with Omega keeping ten paces behind him.

"Doctor Eggman?! What are you doing here?" Sonic asked.

"I brought him here," Omega replied for him. "He is the reason Shadow began this journey in the first place. He cloned Maria Robotnik's body and gene-spliced it with Shadow's DNA."

"Thank you, Omega, but I can carry on from here." He approaches the group and clears his throat before continuing. "It's true. I did use Shadow's DNA. But it wasn't for anything evil. I just wanted to bring my cousin back in a stronger body. One with all the unique traits Shadow possessed, so she wouldn't be taken away from me again… The last time I ever saw Maria, we argued. When I heard of her death aboard the ARK, I had been working on a plan to bring her back in secret. But I got too caught up in my obsession to take over the world. The Christmas Truce was the only opportunity I had to finish my version of Project Shadow."

Everyone was shocked at what they were hearing. Both towards the realisation that Eggman was trying to create his own Ultimate Lifeform and that he wanted to bring Maria back out of the goodness of his heart. This was the first time any of them had seen him genuinely do something good. In the past, he has joined forces with Sonic but only to defeat a greater evil and if it benefits him. But this was the first time Eggman wanted to do something good without a catch. It was a just cause Sonic could respect from his nemesis.

"Better watch yourself, Doc. You're starting to turn into a soft-boiled egg." He teased.

"Don't get ahead of yourself, Hedgehog. I'm still an evil genius bent on ruling the world someday… I'd just like to have what's left of my family be a part of that world."

Tails soon intervenes and gets everyone back to the business at hand. "Anyway, like Eggman said, he was able to clone Maria, but he wasn't able to bring her back. Blaze told Shadow about a spell that can bring the dead back to life in the Forbidden Lands, but to do it he has to kill all sixteen of the ancient Colossi. When we told Emon about it, he had us imprisoned and was dead set on stopping Shadow before he could complete it. We need to get to Shadow before he does."

The other Mobians all turn to each other and nod in agreement. Some of them may not get along with Shadow, but he is still one of them and a hero to the world. This was their only chance to thank him for all the good he's done when he defeated the Black Arms.

Rouge and Omega were the first to step forward, volunteering for this mission. They were his teammates and closest friends. Their leader has always put himself on the front lines for them. Now it was their turn to be there for him. The members of Team Sonic and Team Chaotix were next to step up, followed by Amy, Eggman, Silver, Blaze, and Marine. Cream wanted to go too but Vanilla asked her to stay behind and help set up a little welcome home party for the heroes when they return.

Tails was pleased with the assembly. Operation Shadow Rescue was ready to carry out. Until Charmy pointed out one fatal flaw.

"Uhhh… How exactly do we get to the Forbidden Lands? Did those Colossus Echidna have a map conveniently lying around?"

"Of course not." Knuckles retorted. "If they did, you'd think it would be the first thing we'd show everyone… I guess we'll have to go to Angel Island and ask the Master Emerald where to find it."

"Oh, we know where it is."

Once again everyone turns around and spots the Babylon Rogues, Jet, Wave, and Storm, standing a few feet away from them with their extreme gears ducked under their arms.

"Jet? I thought you weren't coming." Tails spoke first.

"We weren't originally. But then we heard this was actually a rescue mission for Shadow. We couldn't help but get involved." Wave continued.

"You wanna help save him too?" Marine asked confidently.

"No. We just wanted to let him know that we were the reason you lot were able to find him in the first place." Storm replied.

"Yeah. That guy's been arrogantly showing us up in every race we've ever had with him. He thinks he's much better than us. This is our only chance to show him who's boss, hehehe!" Jet finished.

Sonic chuckles to himself. He should've figured they had an ulterior motive instead of being nice guys offering to help a friend. Team Babylon will never change.

"How do you even know where the Forbidden Lands are?" Silver asked.

"We're explorers, remember? We've explored every old temple, landscape, and dungeon untouched by humans. Keep up, Skinny Geek." Wave taunted, triggering an annoyed response from the psychic hedgehog.

"Then it's settled." Tails interrupted before things could get any ugly between the hedgehogs and birds. "Team Babylon will lead the way while the rest of us follow in the Tornado. Emon and his warriors have a whole day's head start so we have to move fast."

"That's the only way I know how." Sonic proudly reminded them. "Ok everyone, let's go rescue the Ultimate Lifeform… Never thought I'd get to live long enough to say that."

It was Christmas time aboard the Space Colony ARK, the famous time of the year when people decorate their homes with pretty lights, chop down a pine tree, drag it into their homes and place presents underneath. The time for families and friends to get together and bask in their happiness. That is how it should go from what he knows of the festive holiday. But the ARK wasn't littered with lights and tinsel, and most of the people aboard didn't seem to acknowledge today was the day.

All of the scientists were too busy in their labs working on other projects to benefit humanity for decades to come. And their families were all in their rooms celebrating the holidays by themselves.

Shadow remembered this day. He talked about it with Sonic during the Christmas party they had on Earth. How he had his first Christmas with Maria and the professor. Back then he didn't know what it meant or what purpose it served. Even now he still can't understand the significance of it, but it was something Maria loved. That was good enough for him.

He wanders the halls until he finds Maria in the Mess Hall. She was standing on a step ladder trying to reach the top of the fake Christmas tree. She was trying to place a star on the top of the tree as the finishing touch of the already beautifully decorated tree but was still too short to reach it.

The whole room was completely covered in Christmas decorations. Shiny gold tinsel covered the walls. Stockings were hung over the kitchen counter where the occupants were given their meals. There were a ton of presents lying neatly under the tree. The tall presents were in the back and the short ones were in the front. The tables were covered by a red cloth with hollies and fake snow, making them look as Christmasy as possible.

Shadow still couldn't believe that she was able to do all of this by herself without any interruption from anyone. The scientists were too busy in the labs and their families had all they needed in their rooms. The Mess Hall was rarely used nowadays when the team introduced portable food makers for their rooms. Devices that could genetically engineer water into any kind of food they wanted. All are part of humanity's strong desire to overcome every problem nature throws at them.

At this point, Shadow was in the labs with Gerald who was conducting some experiments on him to truly test his feats. Unlike the tests he sat through to test his healing factor and immortality, these next ones were to test his combat abilities. They wanted to make sure no life form in the universe could beat him, and only he could harness the power of chaos without needing a Chaos Emerald. Everyone was too busy to care about celebrating Christmas this year. That's something Maria will not allow.

"Hi, Maria- Whoa!"

Abraham soon walks in only to be flabbergasted by all the decorations around him. Maria waves to him as she carefully climbs down the step ladder.

"What's all this?" He asked.

"It's Christmas. Has everyone here forgotten what it is?" Maria asked.

"It's not that. It's just that everyone here didn't have the time to celebrate it because they were too busy trying to cure you." Abraham explained.

"I knew that… I figured now that I'm cured everyone would take a break from it all. But Grandfather hasn't left his lab in days. He keeps performing tests with Shadow, testing his powers. I'd just wish he and the other scientists would take the time to enjoy living instead of helping humanity survive." Maria lowers her head, slightly saddened to see Gerald and his team working so hard and not enjoying the little things in life.

But those thoughts quickly vanished once she realised she could do something about this. If people won't take the time to celebrate the holiday together on their own, she will force them.

"I've got it! Let's have everyone come to the Mess Hall and force them into a situation where they have no choice but to celebrate Christmas."

Maria leans closer to Abraham and whispers her plan in his ear. Shadow already knew what the plan was. She and the young commander would set off the station's alarm and force everyone to evacuate their rooms and come to the Mess Hall which also acted as a safe room in case of an invasion. It was a devious, but cunning, plan. One that could get the kids into a world of trouble. Their only hope is the adults can look the other way and see that they did have good intentions.

"…You got that?" Maria asked her silver-haired friend.

"Yeah. Just one small thing."

"Yes?"

"… Is Shadow gonna be here too?" Abraham hesitantly asked, holding back his fears over the black hedgehog.

"Of course he is. He's a part of our family now."

"Then I'm not coming."

"This explains why I haven't met the commander until fifty years later. The kid has been avoiding me ever since he witnessed my creation." Shadow thought to himself.

"But why?" Maria demanded of him.

"He's evil, Maria! He's a monster created by that three-eyed alien." He looks away from her and glances at his hands which were trembling with fear. "… It's only a matter of time until he realises he's too powerful to be controlled. He'll turn on us and kill everyone!"

"You're wrong! Shadow would never hurt anyone. His purpose is to protect and help people, not hurt them. His blood saved my life. I know he will do the same for others who are suffering from similar diseases."

Shadow watches as the two kids argue over him. Abraham was not completely wrong. There was a time when he let hatred and revenge consume him. Once he wished to carry out Gerald's final revenge against humanity by crashing the ARK into the planet. And when Black Doom tried to manipulate him into going back into those old habits when he'd lost his memories. He almost came close to destroying Earth. The only reason he hadn't was because of the new friends he'd made on that planet, reminding him of what Maria wanted for him.

"Please don't do this, Abraham. I don't wanna have to choose between you and Shadow."

"I'm sorry, Maria. But if you're going to keep hanging around that monster, then maybe it would be for the best if we stopped being friends." Before Maria can attempt to reconcile with him, Abraham turns his back to her and heads for the exit. "You can carry on with your party. I'll just tell my parents everything is fine, and you've set all this up… Goodbye."

And just like that, he was gone. Maria started to tear up and took a seat at one of the tables. She was holding back an urge to cry over losing her best and only friend since she came here, but she didn't want to appear sad to the people when she carried out her plan. Christmas is meant to be a happy time; she couldn't afford to be sad.

Shadow took a seat next to her and glanced at her sorrow. As much as he wanted to comfort her it would be pointless as his hand would faze through her body. If this was the last time she and the commander ever saw each other, he could understand why he was so angry. He never got the chance to apologise before the ARK was invaded and she was killed.

In a way, he and Abraham were the same. Two brooding, hate-filled individuals who let their hatred corrupt them and lead them down a dark path. He is pleased he and the commander were able to talk things out in the end. Now he has another reason to bring Maria back. To give Abraham the chance to make amends with her.

Maria ended up carrying out her Christmas surprise on her own. She didn't hesitate to sound the alarm and force everyone to evacuate their rooms and the labs and come to the Mess Hall at once. Only to be lost for words when they saw all the decorations covering every inch of it.

Gerald turns to his granddaughter and demands an explanation, to which she gracefully answers. She might get in trouble for this, but it was worth it to get everyone together and remind them of one of Earth's greatest traditions. Some of the scientists and their families decided to look past her deception and enjoy the holiday, realising that she was right. All those wasted hours working in the labs. So much time was dedicated to research and curing Maria's condition. They should've slowed things down after accomplishing that goal.

Eventually, the first annual Space Colony ARK Christmas party was underway. Everyone aboard was enjoying the festivities, conversing with their fellow colonists, and drinking egg nog. Nobody had any gifts to exchange as this party was unexpected. But simply being here is enough of a gift, Maria thought.

At least almost everyone was here. She noticed that Abraham's parents were there, but he wasn't. She overheard his father mention how he didn't want to go in fear of bumping into Shadow the Hedgehog. But Maria was surprised to see that he wasn't there. At least her present Shadow, not the future one ominously watching over her and the others.

"Grandfather, where's Shadow?" She asked.

"He's still in the lab. I told him to wait there in case the ARK was invaded. He doesn't know this was a false alarm." He explained as he snacked on some pigs in blanket sausages.

"Aw, he's out there all alone. He should be here too. I'm gonna go look for him."

Maria races out of the room and searches the ARK for the Ultimate Lifeform. She checks Gerald's lab first remembering what her grandfather told her. As luck would have it, Shadow was still there. He was standing in the centre of the room with his arms crossed, staring out the window into space and gazing at the Earth below.

"Shadow, there you are. What are you doing here?" She slowly approached him from behind.

Without looking back, Past Shadow answers. "The Professor instructed me to stand guard in the lab while he attends to whatever threat sounded the alarm."

"There is no threat, Shadow. I sounded the alarm on purpose."

Past Shadow glances over his left shoulder and looks back at her with the same brooding expression on his face. "Why would you do that?"

"Today is Christmas and everyone seemed to have forgotten about it. I wanted to throw a party for the people to celebrate it. We haven't had a proper Christmas since we first arrived here. Grandfather and the other scientists were so busy creating you and saving me that they forgot how to have fun."

She closes in on Shadow more and takes her place beside him. The black hedgehog still hadn't moved an inch from his spot though he acknowledged her presence.

"There's no danger, Shadow. So you don't have to stand around here all day. Why don't you come to the party and join us?" She suggested with a smile.

"I appreciate the offer, but I think I'm gonna sit this one out. You go back and have fun. I'll remain here until the professor returns."

His response saddens Maria a little. "Please, Shadow. I spent so much time setting this party up for everyone to enjoy, and that includes you."

"I'm not familiar with this "Christmas" you speak of, but from what I can assume, it is a human custom. I don't see the importance of me being there."

"Christmas isn't just for humans. It's a holiday for all forms of life to enjoy. It's the one time of the year we all gather together to be with family, friends, and people who love you… You're part of our family too, Shadow. It won't be Christmas without you with us."

Present Shadow briefly thinks back to the talk he had with Sonic during Christmas on Earth yesterday when he tried to convince him to celebrate it with the others. The same thing was occurring now, only back then he didn't fully understand what Christmas meant. This was his true first Christmas.

"… And my favourite part is when we all gather round and sing some Christmas carols. It's a perfect end to a perfect holiday." Maria finished explaining what she knew of Christmas to her newest friend.

Past Shadow took some time to think it over. This Christmas thing sounded like a waste of his time. He can't express joy like the humans can. Probably a side effect of being part of Black Doom. But people often mistake his lack of expression for edginess. Many tease him by calling him an Edge Lord when that is not who he is.

After the events with Black Arms, he has learned to be more open and accepting of others because he knew that's what Maria would've wanted. He even found two close friends in Rouge and Omega.

Past Shadow inevitably decided to come to the party with Maria with the excuse that he would act as a bodyguard and ensure everyone in the Mess Hall was safe. He couldn't promise her he'd take part in any of the festivities even if she asked politely.

They soon arrive at the Mess Hall and Shadow was slightly taken aback by how pretty it looked. He'd never seen so many bright colours and lights in one place before. Until now he was used to seeing the dull greys, blacks, whites, and silvers of the labs and hallways. This was his first time seeing the other beautiful colours of the rainbow. The room was radiating with music and cheerful banter between the inhabitants who were enjoying themselves.

Nobody seemed put off by him being here. They've just accepted it like he'd always been one of them even though he wasn't born long ago.

"So, you've managed to convince him to come?" Gerald addressed his granddaughter.

"Eventually." She giggled in response.

"Well, you're just in time. We were just about to play some charades. Care to join us?"

"I have a better idea. Let's put on some Christmas tunes and have a sing-along like we used to back on Earth." Maria suggested.

"Hehehe, you were the only one singing." Gerald reminded her.

"But now we've got more people to join in on the fun. Come on, let's do it!" She grabs a hold of Gerald's arm and practically drags him over to the jukebox.

She scrolls through the many albums inside until she manages to find a Christmas-themed one. There were a lot of songs to be played on it, but her favourite was the Twelfth Day of Christmas. The song played a slow melody that got everyone in the room to stop what they were doing and look over at the young Robotnik who started singing.

The other residents eventually joined in and sang alongside her. Everyone soon formed a circle in the centre of the room, joined hands, and gently swayed their bodies side to side as they sang harmoniously together.

Both past and present Shadow watched from the sidelines. They were too prideful to succumb to such a foolish endeavour. But they still enjoyed seeing everyone happy and having a good time, especially Maria. She beckoned Past Shadow to join in, but he declined as politely as he could. He wasn't created to sing. He was more than happy to kick back and watch.

"Maria really loved this time of year. I couldn't understand it then, but now I do… Just hold on, Maria. Soon you will get to celebrate many more Christmases just as good as this one."

This flashback seemed to have ended abruptly for Shadow as he was yet again pulled back into the real world by the blinding bright light and awakening once more in the Shrine of Worship. The statue of Phalanx had already fallen, and the thirteen Shades disappeared as he slowly opened his eyes.

Agro was standing by Maria's new body, resting her head upon her torso. She felt cold to the touch, not even the Chaos Emerald could keep her warm as well as fresh. Her neck shoots upwards as she notices Shadow struggling to stand up yet again.

It wasn't as bad as before after his battle with Pelagia, but he was still in a weakened state. The fact that he still has strength must mean the potion he took before battling Phalanx is still in effect.

Agro trots over and uses her head to push him back onto his feet. Shadow dusts off any dirt stuck to his fur and quills before patting her head.

"Good horse." He muttered under his breath.

His eyes widen with shock upon noticing something was off with his arm. The red highlights on it looked faded. It was a lighter shade of what it usually is. It looked like how a red object would appear if it was left out in the sun for too long.

Shadow quickly draws the Sacred Sword and looks at his reflection in the blade. It wasn't just his arm. All of the red on his body appeared bleached, even his eyes. What was happening to him? Is this another side effect of absorbing the black smoke emanating from the Colossi? Losing his powers wasn't enough, now he was losing his appearance too.

Although he was initially put off by this discovery, it didn't change anything. He's still hell-bent on seeing this mission through to the end even knowing it'll kill him.

He gazes up at the hole in the ceiling and awaits Dormin's next instructions. The sun's rays focused on the statue next to the last one on the left side of the hall. Their booming, ominous voice echoed throughout the chamber.

"Thy next foe is… A guardian set loose… A closed-off city beyond the channel… It lusts for destruction."

Shadow climbs atop Agro's back, still holding the sword in hand, and holds it up high for the sunlight to shine onto it and point them in the direction of the fourteenth Colossus, Cenobia. It sounded very similar to Celosia, the tiny Colossus whom Shadow defeated before. He wondered if this one may be another small creature. It would be a lucky break for him if it were. He only has one Elixir left and he lost his bow and arrows during his battle with Phalanx. He'll just utilise the same strategy he used against Celosia.

The sword's light guided them north of the temple, back to where the bridge to the entrance/exit of the Forbidden Lands stood tall. They followed the same path they took to get to Dirge and Basaran, only this time they were pointed to go around the gorge instead of going through it like they usually did.

The path ahead was a rocky one. Shadow had difficulty staying still as Agro carefully galloped through a narrow passage. He even ended up hitting his head on some dead branches sticking out of the rocks.

But he bore through it and held his nerve until Agro finally made it outside the other end of the narrow gorge. They soon come across what is probably the largest ruined site of the long-forgotten Colossus Clan community ever since they first came here.

On their travels, they have seen many old temples, statues, and structures of this ancient civilisation. But none were as massive as this. How all of this was hidden behind a mountain he might never know.

But the light was guiding them down a dark cave away from the city and into an underground lake. The water wasn't that deep, so Agro pressed on through it instead of letting her hedgehog companion swim across. He needed to conserve his energy for the Colossus.

But the path ahead appeared to be inaccessible for a horse to continue. There was a wall in the way that could be scaled by Shadow, but only him. Once more he is forced to abandon his noble steed and continue alone.

He didn't need to issue a command. Agro knew the drill by now. She will head back to the temple and watch over Maria until he is magically brought back unconscious as usual.

Shadow slowly made his way through the cave until he came across what appeared to be the back entrance of the massive, ruined city he had seen earlier. He shielded his eyes from the sun as he stepped outside the cave. He took a good long look around, admiring the architecture.

This whole place was surrounded by the mountain's walls with many stone walls and pillars around it. Most of the walls were broken and completely overtaken by plant life and some of the pillars were knocked down. There were also broken statues of Colossus Clan Echidna Warriors wearing masks and holding spears.

Shadow made his way inside and took his time exploring the place. One of the first things he finds is a still-flowing water fountain. He races over to it and drinks as much water as he can from the pouring trickle. It was incredibly satisfying feeling the cold, fresh water pouring down his throat and wetting his lips. He felt like he hadn't drunk anything in days. He felt like a dehydrated animal who'd been wandering the desert for too long finally quenching his thirst.

He kept on drinking until he'd had enough, and then he went back to his mission. It didn't help his body feel stronger, but it at least woke him up a bit more.

At the end of this part of the city to his left was a temple with stairs leading up to the entrance. Perched at the top of the temple was what appeared to be a lion statue. But as he got closer, he soon discovered that the statue was actually the next Colossus for him to put down.

Just as he'd suspected, Cenobia was small like Celosia, if not smaller. Its eyes lit up upon sensing the sword's presence and it pulled itself free from its permanent sitting position, shook the loose stones off of its body, and leapt down to his level. Cenobia growled as its eyes turned orange. He was ready to attack the intruder.

Shadow quickly retreated and climbed atop a wall to get away from him. He had no choice but to fall back. In his weakened state, challenging the beast head-on would result in his death if he were to get hit by it. Cenobia's body was covered in thick stone armour, making him invulnerable to the sword. And the worst part is there were no flames or cliff edges to help him this time. For now, all he can do is stay out of range until he can come up with a plan to break through that armour and pierce the symbol on its back.

He climbs to the top of a tall pillar and crouches to maintain his balance. Cenobia spots the black hedgehog and attempts to knock him off by charging headfirst into the pillar.

Shadow held on tight as the pillar came crashing down. Cenobia waited for him to fall off so he could trample him, but the Ultimate Lifeform jumped to the top of another pillar in front of it and rushed over to another pillar. He needed to maintain the high ground.

He kept on climbing the pillars, only for Cenobia to knock them down one by one. He kept this up until Shadow reached the top of a tall building. It was too big and sturdy for the tiny Colossus to knock down, giving the black hedgehog more time to come up with a strategy.

He scans the environment for something, anything that can be used to break through the armour. But there were no weapons that could provide him the opportunity. All he could see were a bunch of unstable pillars and ruined buildings.

"Wait! That's it!" His focus is on the unstable platform by the temple that's being held up by only one pillar. It looked like it was on the brink of collapse. "If I can get it to charge into that pillar, it'll bring that whole section down on it. Hopefully with enough force to shatter that armour."

Cenobia rams into the side of the building again, causing Shadow to stumble backwards and over the edge. He grabs onto the ledge just in time, though he barely has enough strength to maintain it.

He quickly jumps towards the last pillar and waits for Cenobia to knock it down like he did all the others. He rides the pillar down until he jumps onto the unstable platform. Now all that was left was for Cenobia to break it down.

"Hey! Over here!" He waves his arms in the air, taunting the beast to try and charge him again. This would've been much easier if he still had his bow and arrows.

Cenobia roared as he charged into the pillar. Shadow quickly dodge-rolls to the side as the whole thing comes crashing down on the tiny Colossus. He was completely buried in stone. He didn't stay buried for long though. Cenobia burst out of the debris and backed himself out of it. His armour cracked and broke off his body, exposing his furry hide and the glowing symbol.

Now was his chance to strike. Regaining his strength, Shadow leaps off of the wall and lands atop Cenobia's back. The tiny Colossus shook side to side like a wet dog, desperately trying to knock him off. When that didn't work, he tried charging into a random wall.

Shadow held on for dear life the whole time. Upon making contact with the wall, Cenobia ended up dazing itself, providing Shadow with the perfect opportunity to draw his sword and impale the creature in its back.

Cenobia's eyes went dark as its body went limp. It let out one last moan before falling over to the side and exhaling its last breath. Shadow collapses to the grass-covered ground long before the tendrils get to him. Another successful kill resulted in his body reaching its limits. He was so close to finishing now. Only two more Colossi to go.
